I found that Professor Chatterji to be very not interested in her students. She has a very nasty attitude and further more displayed a lack of intrest in anyone elses profession by her own. Would I say I walked away with anything other than DISMAY.. I hope to save anyone else from the unbarrable time.

This woman is horrible!! I hates this professor, the worst professor I have had in the last 3 semesters. Often makes you feel your questions or comments have no relevance to her. Gives many assignments to go watch speakers, and have workshops, a waste of my time. Does not care about the students other commitments , she only cares about herself.

If you can get a better teacher DO SO... She TEACHES public speaking and can bearly keep the class interesting. She is very particular on the way she grades and even when you follow her steps one by one she always finds a way to take off points. And the worst part is... she gives off dirty looks when students are doing their speeches....RUDEEEEEEEE

I took her calss on line. Big mistake. I have told several people not to take her class. She does not explain what you are doing wrong. The due dates for things were very confusing and when asked she would reply to look it up.

First of all - if you -have- to take her class, do NOT take it online, she is not good with blackboard. In fact she's horrible with it. She also expects for you to "attend" class on holidays, and you have to post each day, otherwise you are marked absent.

Worst teacher i have ever came into contact with!!!! I suggest if u get her u drop out asap dont give her a chance. My class started out with over 20 kids now theres 12 of us left. She gives dirty looks, and an attitude constantly, is never clear on anything. absolutely the worst teacher in history

i seriously suggest switching teachers for this class if possible or just not taking it at all. the textbook is worthless, she doesn't use it, and she is an extremely difficult woman. she has no regard for her students as humans and often shoots nasty looks and sarcastic comments their way. condescending, vile, rude lady!!! unfair grader as well.

How this women is still employed is a mystery to me. If you love hell, take Sushmita's class. She will ridicule you, make fun of you, embarrass you, make you feel worthless, and speak down to you. I took her 2 years ago and my brother had her this semester - still a crotchety woman who cares about no one but herself. She's VERY unorganized.

I disliked her class. I took an on-line class with her, and I thought she was very hard to please. When asking for help I got hardly any assistance from her. I don't recommend her for English.

She was by far the hardest grading teacher i have ever had! She was not only confusing but not very helpful either. I would not take this class with her!

She's a nasty teacher with no compassion or mercy for her students at all. She makes the Grinch (before his heart grew in size) seem angelic compared to her. Has no idea how Black Board works and if things are not just so she'll ridicule you and give you hell. Every other class I've taken for the past few semesters at HVCC were A's not with her.

Worst Teacher ever. In my class several people reported her for being rude and not willing to help. I went during office hours and she answers a question with a question. The people ar the writing center had no clue what she wanted um her outline. And they taught public speaking their self.

the way you have to "hand" in your assignments is ridiculous. No make ups and not willing to help you during her "office hours" which she doesnt even have what a joke of a class

This teacher is absolutely horrid. She was extremely hard and an extremely hard greader. She was never clear at what she wanted and when I asked for help in emails she wouldn't respond for days. Very sarcastic and always being snarky towards her students. I don't recommend taking this class ever.

Sushmita was one of the worst professors I have ever had. I have never gotten lower than an A in English and she gave me a D. She is not nice and makes you feel stupid when you ask questions in class. She gives insane amounts of work and grades harshly. Stay away!!!!

Sushmita's criteria for grading is very harsh for a level 100 English class. She expects so much from people who have no experience in Public Speaking. A speech I felt confident on was graded as a 'C' because the outline wasn't up to her standards; never mind the quality of the speech itself. She does not care about your grade or situation. Beware.

This is the worst class I've ever taken. It's supposed to be a beginning level public speaking class but it's graded like an 300 level honors course. We don't get feedback until just before our next speech is due, and the expectations are through the roof.

sitting in her class is torture. she has slick side comments that belittle your confidence. her grading is sooo harsh. before her my papers averaged at an A in her class all my papers received Cs. attendance is big in her classs you miss % classes thats a whole letter grade dropped.

This class is the reason I wont be finishing my first semester with all As. Only 5 people out of thirty completed her class. Most of the rest LITERALLY DROPPED OUT. If you get in a car crash on the way to school, dont expect any extra help. If you work your ass off, dont expect a good grade. Shes just miserable. Doesnt accept feedback.

Absolutely horrible. Not understanding, not clear, patronizing, rude; while simultaneously having no idea what is going on herself. She is extremely dense and wastes time explaining simple topics like storytelling, but then assigns insane assignments with weird formatting and doesn't explain them whatsoever. Making my life a living hell. Hate her.

The class was wicked hard. She shoots you down constantly. She always has to show how smart she is compared to you. Made my semester a nightmare. Wicked tough grader. I hated being in her presence

The professor constantly doesn't seem to know if she has the class's attention and will ask the class what we are doing or if anyone has background information on a subject we just started, outright refuses to answer questions about assignments or due dates even if they are recent or upcoming. Terrible professor, easily. If you ask her a question about something little she will go on a 30 minute talk about everything, but what you asked her. If I could give a 0 I would. I strongly advise you to not take this professor.

If you check your schedule and find out that you have Chatterji as a teacher, immediately call your advisor for a new one. Not only does she make a 50 minute class feel like hours, she hands out homework as if you don't have a life outside of school. She takes to long to grade, and misses too many assignments.

Worst graded class I have received at HVCC!. If someone had a class question she would make us feel so stupid. She would say look at our syllabus + didnt answer us. Her blackboard was SO confusing. The class shared grades and more than half failed the research paper! Most students should not fail a research paper (we worked on it all semester..)

Never have I ever had a professor like Sushmita, especially here at HVCC. Coming to this class was dreadful, and my grade suffered greatly due to that. If you don't show up, you won't pass, and believe me you will not want to show up. If she is on your semester schedule, get out ASAP!!

This professor is very strict at grading assignments and quizzes, I did a lot of work for her and attended all the classes and she gave me a ( D). She calls on random students and asks them difficult questions which is very embarrassing in front of the rest of the students.I strongly wouldn't recommend anyone to take this class ever.

Very difficult teacher overall. Highly unorganized and at one point had our class writing two essays at once. She would pick on classmates and wouldnt accomadate. Admist multiple assignments a week, tried to turn in assignment 5 minutes before due and she rejected submission and mocked me infront of class. Would maoe sure not to take her in future.

She makes me feel dumb, and when I ask a question she just looks at me oddly and makes a smart comment, we have wayy too much essays.

If you have chatterji as a professor i would change immediately. She makes you feel stupid because she doesn't explain the assignments she gives way too many assignments at once (like 5) she will fail you even if you do the work. After writing an essay you have to do a million things after instead of just turning it in and moving on

I had taken her for English Comp 1 and had such an awful experience. She would never fully explain instructions and when we would hand in work is when she tells us what to do fully. She says no wrong answers but when we did group discussions but if it wasn't good enough she would make you feel like crap. I do not recommend taking a class with her.

This professor made me drive to school without wearing a seatbelt in hopes that i'd hit a tree and avoid her class.

I told this professor that my mother had cancer, and I could not attend most classes because I had to tend to her. She still was critical and unfair. She deserves to be fired or prohibited from teaching. Shame on HVCC for allowing this person on their staff.

Im a recent college graduate, and I came back just to leave this review. This was by far the worst professor I've ever had. The class was extremely frustrating, and the teaching style made it difficult to learn anything. If you're taking this class, I genuinely feel for you — it's going to be a tough experience.

Sushmita Chatterji gives confusing instructions, offers almost no feedback, and hasn't posted a single grade all semester. No one knows what she wants, and the whole class is stressed and in the dark. If you're not religious, I suggest you pick a religion and start praying, because you'll need all the divine intervention you can get.

In Public Speaking with Professor Chatterji, her class was very difficult. She grades little to no work on time, leaving students in the dark whether or not they will pass or fail due to her tough grading. She makes a Public Speaking class far more difficult than it has to be. I was a 4.0 GPA student, and her class wrecked my GPA. DO NOT TAKE HER!!
