Shes a pretty good teacher all in all. As long as you print off the outlines prior to the lecture and come to class youre going to be fine. I like that she gives out random 10 pt assignments in class now and then like: write down what you like about the class, and boom you have 10 points. She makes Psych interesting and fun, enjoyable lectures

EXCELLENT!! Very fun and interesting class. I never missed and wish I could take more classes from her. Recommend her class highly
One of the best teachers I have ever had! She makes everything interesting and is a really nice and understanding person. She really cares about her students and doesn't want to fail anyone. The class is basically lectures and tests, so attending class is important. Make sure to study for tests, attend lectures, and take notes and you'll do fine.
GREAT!!!!! Made me a better student.

Very funny, friendly teacher with a relaxed teaching style. Sometimes disorganized. It's her way or the highway--she really knows what she's talking about. Come to class prepared to take lots of notes very quickly (print out the study guides!).
She is unorganized and hard to understand. She also teaches with a slant, showing only her own opinions.
Loved her! Ignore the bad comments from below. I thought she was great, she goes out of her way w/extra credit! Two take home tests, 4 reg. exams, a final. She gives a note/test outlines which is SO helpful.I am praying she starts teaching other classes! Awesome teacher!
Excellent teacher! makes class interesting and doesn't just lecture out of book but incorporates her ideas and cool facts and examples along with material. Must attend all classes to keep up and read text alot along with her slideshow notes to fill in. Tests are hard but you will do good if you study and read alot. Very great teacher to have!
She's a weirdy, but if you just ignore her biased views and opinions and focus only on what little psychology she actually gets to, while getting on her good side, you're gonna be fine in the class. But it's pretty easy, not that challenging... if you don't attend class, print off the notes and then read the book...
Sympson is pretty cool. Her lectures can be really boring or very interesting. She takes attendance everyday but doesn't care if your late. I skipped half the classes and did horrible on the tests and still came out with a B.
You will do fine if you read the chapters, print of the outlines before the class and study for the tests. She is a very fair teacher. There are 2 take home exams, 4 regular exams and a final. She gives many chances for extra credit. If you work at it a little, you can get an A!
Susie is a great teacher. She really has a passion for psychology and she makes the lectures very interesting. She is really good about using real world examples to help you relate to the material. Her test can be a little tough so you will need to study! A great class to take though, helped me decide my major.
Susie is an amazing teacher. My first impression was that she was completely insane, I didn't like going to her classes at all. But as the term went on she transferred her passion for psychology to me! The class is definately hard if your not serious about it the work. She is opinionated but does a good job of seeing both sides if you ask her to.
she was a great teacher! but you have to go to class, study off of the homework she gives you, alot of the questions are off of it! plus there is alot of extra credit!
Hated her in the beginning, but she grows on you throughout the semester, would definitly take her again given the chance. The lectures are kind of pointless, read the book and do the homework, that is where all the test questions came from. Lots of extra credit. Tere is no reason you should not get an A
She is really cool, knows her stuff. I worked my butt off to get A's on every test. You need to go to class, if you do, you'll be fine. She is fair and obviously loves her field. There are 4 tests, 4 homeworks, and a paper. Do the work- you'll do well. I'd say take her class.. because she makes easy to learn and understand. and makes it funny!
I took this class at Park U and she is an amazing teacher! You have to work really hard in this class, but its worth it in the end. She is just so fun and she makes the material interesting especially since the textbook was not the best.
I really really like her, she is pretty cool
This class is interesting, and she makes it fun and relate-able! She has her lecture outlines posted online, so although i recommend attending class (she gives out class participation points on random days) if you can't the lecture is right there so you know what you missed. Mine was late start so I only have a midterm and final! Hardly any homewor
She is a great teacher! Do all of your homework and you will do fine on the test! Oh and study for them to! There is one paper but it's no big deal. I would take a class again with her!
Really good teacher. You can tell she loves her class and the topics. She doesn't like the current book so i cant give to much feedback on that one.. But even when she changes the book it is important to go through it for the review packets. Funny and very outgoing
Susie is a great professor, opinionated (liberal), but fun and very interesting. Loved her teaching style and will take classes from her again. If you are in class you should do well. She gives you note outlines to assist in taking notes and study guides to help in studying for tests. There is really no reason to not do well in her class.
I wasn't to excited about taking this class but prof. Sympson was able to make this class fun and enjoyable. She does all she can in order for you to get a good grade. I attended every class and studied before tests and finished with an A. If your willing to study and go to class then I would highly recommend taking Susie for Psychology.
Susie was a very good teacher. You could tell that she knows what she is talking about. Your tests are mainly from your study guides that are due the class before each test. Study those and attend class and you will do fine.
Wonderful teacher! Very helpful and clear. The majority of the test questions come from the study packets (which also counts as 40% of your overal test grade) so spend plenty of time on them and DON'T WAIT till the last minute to fill it out!!!
Excellent! Makes you think and challenge your assumptions!!
One of the most passionate teachers I've ever encountered here at JCCC! She cares about her students. She makes you think, but you're in college, you're already supposed to be doing that. She's also the club advisor for the Invisible Children club on campus, which shows her dedication to students.
EXCELLENT! 50% of the tests is from the study guide.....wonderful at her explanations! highly recommend
Loved her she's really interesting to listen to, and really knows her stuff. Be aware though her classes aren't easy, but she does work with you! Just attend class and you will pass.
Great teacher, loves the subject and knows it well. A lot of lecture and reading outside of the classroom but she provided outlines to write down notes. She's easy to get a hold of outside of the classroom.
I would recommend Susie to everyone! She is an amazing teacher! Can't say enough good things about her! She knows what she is talking about, I would encourage anyone taking Psyc to take her! A+ TEACHER!!
Overall, take this class. It's pretty easy. She gives the class a packet of "homework" which is your study guide for the test and final. The only issue I had with her is listening to her one sided political rants which had nothing to do with psychology but the class is easy.
She makes you answer 120 question during each section only to make it out of 40 points. Her tests are hard. If you are majoring in psych. then this is a good teacher, but if you just need the credit and want an easy A, then this is NOT the teacher for you.
Great professor! She uses many examples to help her students understand the material. Good about answering questions but has a hard time excepting that others may have different point of views on certain subjects.
Amazing teacher. The study packets are your key to succeed. Also, if you don't miss classes, on days that most people are gone, she tells us what the essay questions might be on exam. Show up and study, easy A.
Dr. Sympson is the great professor ever!!! she really help you from her heart!! I think her class is hard but I really enjoyed it. She cares about students feelings. I like her a lot. I hope I can take her for other science classes!! Best professor I never see!!!!
Dr. Sympson was an excellent professor. Her lectures are interesting. She gives copies of her lectures so it is easy to follow along and study. She also gives study guides for the tests which I liked because I could test myself before the test. Dr. Sympson is a great professor and a great human in general. I wish she was my psychologist!
Fantastic professor, very entertaining and informative. Susie tells lots of stories and is very open about her own opinions, which may make some uncomfortable. Info on tests (50 multiple choice, 1 essay question)come straight from lecture. Reading chapters not necessary but helpful. Study guides provided; talks fast, so write quickly or type it up.
Difficult class, difficult tests. Study hard. I wouldnt take her again, I hear there are easier ones out there
Smart woman. No BS. I enjoyed her class a lot. She is very opinionated but that makes the class interesting. I highly reccomend her.
Funny! Tests are hard but she gives lots of extra credit! She actually cares about your grade! Study and show up to class and you will do fine
Dr. Sympson is awesome! She really cares for all of her students and is very willing to help you out when you need it. If I could take this class again with her I would. It's like any college course, you have to put in effort to get a good grade, but overall it was fairly easy.
She's very passionate about her psychology and she'll definitely call you out on your BS. Tests are hard but if you study the study guide, you'll be golden. Very interesting person to talk and become close to. Lectures will not bore you to sleep either. She does not tolerate foolishness from students either.
gives you everything you need to pass
If you work for it and put in effort it's an easy A
This class is 90% daily lectures. But Susie is FUNNY and keeps you listening. She is very sarcastic and not afraid to say what she wants, but missing excessive class will effect your grade a lot.. All the information you learn for quizes is from lecture. Very interesting class and a very nice, funny person. Loved Susie!
Pay attention and she tells you all you need, her lectures are long but rittled with relevant stories to help you understand. She's passionate about her field of study.
Personally, she is one of the best teachers I have had. She makes the course really interesting and engages the class. Make sure to come to every class because she randomly gives points for participation.
I loved this class. It is harder because the information is a lot to remember, but she makes it entertaining. I would take again; it is very interesting. Take her class!
She uses great examples to help students understand the material and makes herself available for extra help. On the other hand she frequently shares her political views which is incredibly unprofessional and irrelevant to class material.
I really enjoyed this class a lot. I really enjoyed her speaking. I would recommend this class to other students. I would recommend Dr. Susie Sympson to other students. She is very patient and very helpful. She will take time to help you and tell you other helpful sources. Her class is very interesting. She is a very nice Professor :)
I loved Professor Sympson, she is a great professor and know her stuff. She is funny and don't take her politics or jokes to heart. She is a good teacher and that is all that matters. If you are struggling in any way GO TALK TO HER she is a psychologist not just a professor. She really wants her students to succeed.
Professor Sympson is good at teaching. She knows her stuff and her lectures are peppered with examples that make them memorable. However, she frequently makes negative comments about political and life views that are different from her own.
Dr. Sympson gives a lot of good information, most of it you will not find in the book, which you'll only need 40% of the time I'd guess. She likes to be "controversial" wants class participation. I've found her a bit hostile at times. She provides outlines to follow that help a bit, be prepared to take a lot of notes, you'll need them.
Susie is one of the best professors I have ever had! She genuinely cares about you and will help in any way she can. She provides you with the outline and then you take notes as needed. Lectures are awesome, she integrates a lot of stories into them. Easy A if you show up and do all that is required!
After the Presidential election she openly called Republicans idiots and Americas stupid. She said she literally hates Trump and all conservatives and she said Christianity should be considered a mental disease. I was totally offended and I even voted for Hillary. Shes talks politics at least 50% of the time. Avoid her!
Susie is a great professor. She gave a lot of good information in class and be prepared to take notes. She is a professor which you will totally like her or totally not. I felt that her class was intense on first few weeks, but later you will adapt and love the way she teach. She did mentioned politics but not as much as how others said.
If you like liberal politics and bashing religion, take the class. If you like psychology, don't.
One of those crappymarxist social justice warrior teachers that crams they're political opinions into their lectures. Avoid if possible
Susie is passionate about her work. She wants you to succeed but she also wants to challenge you and make you uncomfortable at the same time. Be prepared for lots of material and heavy lectures. Overall, it was easy to adapt to her teaching style and I would recommend her.
Susie Sympson is such a great teacher!! Although attendance isn't mandatory she uses lots of her examples on test. First couple weeks of class feel intense but it gets easier. She is caring, and funny. Study your reviews! A good portion of the questions on test are word by word on test. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER EXTRA CREDIT (really easy).
I absoulety loved her!! There is no homework or class work. Just a simple paper over the materials you've learned, no research needed!! She says what's on her mind and I love professors like that! definitely recommend
Susie Sympson is an amazing professor. She is very blunt about how she feels about things, but she is also approachable. Participate in class to get more out of it! She uses relate-able examples, provides outlines for notes, and gives you the information in class. Take advantage of the learning tools she gives you and you will pass her course.
She is so cool! It's not a hard class if you study. This is school-do the work involved! She is a psychology professor- she says what is on her own mind. I wish I could be as honest as her. She notices if you put effort into her class. She treats everyone equally and makes you think about your life. I'm glad I had her. She really cares.
Very Informative teacher. She provides you with all the tools you need to succeed. SHOW UP, do your work, and you will pass just fine. Be prepared to listen to the occasional Liberal attack against conservatives. She likes to mix them into her lectures, and she can be crass at times. Overall a decent choice for intro to psychology.
Dr. Sympson is a great professor! She is passionate about psychology and life! She has a great personality and a great sense of humor that make her lectures fun and informative. She emphasizes critical thinking and wants you to succeed. She truly cares and it shows. This was one of the best classes I've ever taken.
Love her, total sweetheart!
I really enjoyed Dr. Sympson's class, she was funny and concise. And I'm unsure why people gave her bad ratings based on her political stance. She barely, if ever, got political in my class. And even if she did, we're adults, were supposed to be able to handle opinions that differ from our own, that's part of life. Great prof., highly recommend!
When i first met her, I was intimidated because she came off as a harsh prof. I soon learned that she is not, go to classes, listen in lectures, and study for tests and you'll get by easy. Tests were decent if you study, by no means difficult. Anyone who does not like her is probably someone on the opposite side of her political stance.
Very nice
She says not to memorize but all of the tests are based on this. Easy A, but the lectures were filled with unnecessary political talk. Just do the study guide and test and you will pass. I would take a different teacher if I had to do over again simply because of her constant need to be a SJW. Book isn't that necessary, you could pass without it.
Professor Sympson was off-putting at first, she comes off a little abrasive but quickly developed into one of my favorite professors of the semester. The class was mostly all lecture, so if you missed it was up to you to get caught up. Barely ever used the book, just for a couple of quizzes. Very informative, enjoyable class.
She comes off a little abrasive but I warmed up to her quickly. Her lectures really drew me in, she lets you know exactly what will be on the tests with her study guides (questions often word for word), and there is one paper do that you can do at any point int the semester that was very therapeutic for me. I would recommend.
The entire class is lecture. But she gives plenty of examples per her lectures to help you better understand the concepts.
-Cares about her students -Uses GREAT examples and explains things really well until students completely understand -Makes class enjoyable -Has really good study guides and easy to follow notes
I love Dr. Sympson so much. I really enjoyed all of her lectures and her tests were fairly easy. Homework is simple and she is very lenient. Shes super sweet and truly cares for her students. Not only that, shes hilarious. Shes not only a good professor, but a good friend.
