She is a great teacher and she really inspires you to learn. You have to do a lot of work though.

she will answer your questions as many ways as she can until she is able to get you to understand. There's a lot of work but she's easily accessible so you can get tons of help. A wonderful teacher!! I would reccommend her to everyone!

TOO MUCH HOMEWORK!!! I spent entire days doing the stupid text book assignments trying to figure out problems and solving them on my own (since that's the awesome method used), writing 2 page reflective writing assignments, AND reading assignments (30+pgs) that include the long critical thinking answers. I thought you guys said she was passable! :(

Tummers is an amazing teacher who makes you want to come to class. Her speeches are very insightful and she really wants you to learn. I have never gotten an A in math before and got it this semester. You write little essays and do textbook assignments along with reading assignments. It's a variety of assignments that keep everyone interested.

If you hate geometry TAKE THIS CLASS! I seriously hated geometry in high school and hated the fact that I had to take it again in college. After taking geometry with Susie, geometry is actually fun for me! Ask anyone about her! She assigns daily homework, but they are short assignments. I wish she could be my math professor throughout college :(!

Excellent and informing. Assertive and responsible. Works by a set of standards that do not leave her students behind. Highly recommended; I don't believe people learn unless they actually work with the material. Homework is not hard. It isn't due until AFTER homework is checked, but you cannot get a homework check sheet unless you attempt it.

Best math teacher I've ever had. I took her class in fall 2011 and I still keep in contact with her as I prepare to become a teacher myself. I got a B in the class yet I feel that it was a hard earned B. There is a lot of work, but it's not difficult. Stay on top of homework and class work and you'll do fine! She's extremely helpful!

Ms. Tummers is by far the best and most caring math instructor I have ever had. She's detail in her explanation for everything and will clarify any confusion. Math classes are all the same, if you don't pay attention, you won't pass but it does help when the professor care to help the student understand, not just memorize the material.

I took Prof. Tummers for both MATH 60 & 170. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She gives a lot of hw, but it was never hard, & she was always available to help. She only collects *some* hw. She gives quizzes and exams. Study the quizzes as some of the questions on there are repeated on the exams. I still go to her for math 180 help.

I took her for 170 and shes probably one of the only math teachers ive taken that explains why something is this way or that way. other teachers just tell you to memorize for a test but tummers will break down a formula and explain and simplify. my only complaint is that she doesnt teach anything above 170.

She's an excellent instructor because she explains the 'why?' behind the math. She'll have you drawing pictures and cutting out shapes to solidify understanding. She's enthusiastic because she loves the subject. Organized. Patient. Available to help. Asset to ECC.

Best teacher I have taken in my history of education anywhere. She is always there for tutoring and guides you through problems. You have to do your part too, it's not a walk in the park but it's not impossible. She also explains everything and WHY things are the way they are in trigonometry. Would take again definitely.

There are pretty much no stupid questions in this class - she'll answer even the dumbest questions (in my opinion) with complete respect. Her lectures are amazing and she knows the subject very well. If you are willing to put the time into the work, you will pass without an issue. She is very easy to contact if you have any problems. Students are welcome to come to office hours for help and she will fit around 10 people in her office if she has to. (The offices aren't big)

Despite her stern tone, she is passionate and will work above and beyond to try to help you understand if you meet her halfway. She's a concept learner so no memorization needed, and no online homework!

She's brutally honest about the weight you need to pull in order to pass her class, and she equally puts in her part. You won't like her if you need to be babied; if you need a kick in the butt, she's right for you.

Ms. T is great because I'm someone who isn't into online homework and any of that sort of stuff, and she doesn't use any of that. She's very keen on deriving where the concepts she teaches you CAME from, so if you're someone who always wonders "But why?" during class, you'll like her. She's relatively fast-paced, so be prepared for that.

Mrs. Tummers is an incredibly respectable teacher. She answers emails very quickly and as opposed to just giving you the answer, she will help guide you in finding the answer on your own. The tests can be somewhat difficult but the problems are very similar to the ones on the homework. Quite a bit of homework assigned but it is very useful.

Susie's bubbly, caffeine-fueled energy boosts her obvious passion for the subject. Her class encourages group activities before exams (she'll bring snacks). She'd share some insights from time to time on the applications of the subject that we can see outside of class. The curriculum itself is straight forward: do the work and we'll all learn well.

You will have to work, but Susie is always ready to help when you have questions. Answers emails quickly and gives lots of opportunities for points. Take her class, you will walk away with an understanding of the whys!

If you have the chance to take this professor PLEASE TAKE HER! She is honestly the best and explains everything so clearly. Susie is very passionate about the subject and wants the best for her students. However, she's very energetic, and has test questions that were fairly different from homework problems and notes. Know your trig for this class !! Right now, I'm taking calc with a diff professor who's teaching style is more low-key, and I prefer it more.

There are extra credit questions on tests. The only catch is that she doesn't post grades on Canvas; you have to ask her for them.

One of the best math professors at ElCo. She truly cares about her students and goes far beyond what Ive seen any other teacher do for their students. She has an insane amount of office hours,great lectures,and most importantly the class isnt too easy. Its not an easy A,class went from 70 students to 20 but u will know calc after passing her class.

She cares about you staying on top of work and is accessible outside of class. Quizzes are similar to the hw done in the textbook. She talks a little fast and does fast work at times but she will always answer questions. Note packets were useful. Do the hw assigned and always ask questions. She encourages asking questions about lectures and content

Amazing teacher who really cares about you as a person. This class will be challenging especially if you don't have a strong math background (like trig and precalc) but she gives you the resources to succeed in this class. Stay on top of the homework, the quizzes and exams are very similar. For exam exam we get a cheat sheet which helps out a lot.
