She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I will agree she is not easy you need to work for your grade, but she is very helpful if you ask for help. If you come to class, take notes and study you will be fine.If you are a slacker don't take her

very hard teacher, but you learn a lot in the class. shes very passionate about art and takes the course seriously. she picks on you randomally to describe paintings..there is a lot of homework in this class..journals and reading galore!

She is an EXCELLENT teacher. You will put in many hours of study, but she knows her stuff and you will learn alot. She has a passion for teaching and takes the time to get to know her students. Don't take this if you are lazy.

Dr. B is an extrodinary and brilliant professor. It was a privalege to have her as my teacher. Her work is very demanding but as long as you study and care about succeeding, you will pass. She makes you see art through a whole new perspective.

I'll admit she's tough but if you work at it she'll definitely give you a good grade. She's nice and knows her stuff well. do NOT take this class if you are lazy and don't want to work. But I did learn a lot from her and more interested in art than ever!!

VERY helpful to her students, but her lectures are pretty boring. Her tests are very scattered (kind of like her thought process). If your really interested in this course you will learn a lot from her as long as you dont miss a class and put in the work she expects of you. Good luck!

I have never worked so hard in a class before.But I can't thank Prof. Boettger enough for all the knowledge she instilled in me. I will always be thankful for the culture she taught the class.She gets to know her students and wants everyone to succeed in class -which has taught me to only strive for the best. Now I really appreciate art!

She is really nice and sweet. She gives you a lot of extra credit work which you should get an A. even when she seems a bit lost she recovers and delivers her task of teaching in the most efficient manner possible. now I appreciate her as a teacher and art itself.

Just do the work. She's clear on what needs to be done in order to do well in the class.Nice person.

Pretty easy to get A if you do all homeworks and extra credits on time! Be careful with attendance.

YES art is suppose 2 b fun but there is some knowledge also....she knows a lot about the subjects she teaches...a little wierd but entertaining...i would reccomend her unless u are vey lazy.

i LOVED her class. i learned so much and i didnt even need this class. these people hating didnt study hard and obviously didnt care. i had to catch up with my work and she ended up appreciating everything. take her. she will help you if you need extra credit.

professor boettger is an incredible teacher, and genuinely nice lady who is obviously passionate, and very knowlegeable about the subjects she teaches. anyone who has a complaint about her class or her, simply didn't pay attention to lectures this woman knows what she's talking about, and you'd be lucky to have her while at bergen..

I have to retake this class because I got a bad grade...but I still fkin loved it! If you're serious about art take her!

Let me be clear: If you do all of the required work and study furiously you WILL pass. It's just that simple. Sure, she can be difficult, but you'll emerge cultured and if you have half a brain-grateful. I recommend her highly.

Great teacher, but I apologize if she made you go to a museum. I mean, in an ART oriented class - why on earth would a trip to an ART MUSEUM be remotely appropriate? As one other comment stated, "she thinks she?s teaching in Harvard". This is a community college - send us to burger king, k-mart, or that parking lot outside of college as a trip.

She is a great teacher and will help you fully understand everything. She does give a few assignments but they are simple. Tests are are a little hard if you don't study. I enjoyed her class and recommend taking it.

I LOOOOVE Boettger! For sure she isn't very clear but you will learn in her class. SUCK UP TO HER AND YOU'LL GO TO HEAVEN... meet her after class and she will forgive all your sinful lates. I passed with an A and I never handed in anything but the 2 museum papers. participate and she will love you! sit in the front. Oh and did i say suck up? DO IT!

I don't understand when people say she isn't helpful or is not clear. Did you ever go to her office or actually try to listen while she is speaking? In fact she encourages students to come to her office and if you show up the first week you get 10 extra points. Also she is ready to go over your paper before you hand it in. What more do you expect?

If you want to learn this period in Art history you should take her. In the beginning she is a little bit harsh but it just looks that way. She gives the whole understanding what art is about. She is one of the best profs at Bergen. In the beginning she might seem harsh. But once you get use to her you'll thank God that you took her. She knows the subject she teaches better than she should have for the community college and she knows how to teach.

If you actually want to learn art history and not just get credits from this class you should take her. Some people do not like her because she makes you think about images. But come on how are you gonna learn if you do not use your brain... She is great!!! Take her and you'll learn a lot from her classes.

Yes her tests are not multiple choice, which is actually better. I always wonder why people are so scared from her tests. There are no confusing or misleading questions. Even if you don't know anything about the pics she put for the test she gives an option to describe them and she gives you credits for that.

She is kind of hard in the begging. I was about to drop her class but I chose to stay. And I'm glad I did. She gets easier later. If you take detailed notes whatever she says about images you'll be more than fine. I see people sitting and staring at the screen without putting down a word she says. Then later they wonder why did they fail.

She is the most kind hearted and the most intelligent professor I've ever met. It just takes time to get use to her and you will lear a lot from her.

I had no idea abt ART so this was very hard. Her tests were very hard for me. lot's of ppl. dropped cuz they failed the tests. I thought of dropping the class but after i talked to her, she gave me extra time to finish hws and helped a lot! 2museum assignments to NY, but lots of ECs! I got B even though i got very bad grades for most of the tests!

This teacher seems difficult in the beginning but if you give her class a fair chance you will see she is actually a good teacher. if you take the time to meet with her and show her you care about your grades she will show you the nicer side of herself. showing up to class taking notes and paying attention will benefit you greatly!

I'm surprised to see so many students think she isn't clear. I'm an international student and have some difficulties with English but I had no problem understanding her. And if you go to her and tell her that you're not clear I guarantee you that she will help. She is extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. If you seek her help you'll get it!

She is great, I pity those who fail to understand this.How to do well in this class.1. Sit on the first row.2. Write down every everything she says.3. For writing assignments follow the rules 11pt, double spaced, 1" margins etc. this is very important to her. 4. Go to her office, make her know you, talk to her,she appreciates your interest .

So from the comments I see that people either really hate her or relly love her ...isn't she a character?Seriously the exams are not as bad as some people described. There are no confusing or tricky questions you just have to write what she is telling during the classes, so just write down as much as you can during the lectures and you'll be fine.

She is the greatest professor I have ever had, she is absolutely knowledgable and intelligent. Her teaching technique is just amazing-everything you learn in her class stays and gets sealed in your brain. Be smart, study the way she tells you and you'll get a lot from her class. Professor Boettger is one of the BCC's treasures. Her classes are really interesting, with full of important information. All you have to do is just take detailed notes. She never gives tricky questions or something that she didn't cover at class. She is very helpful and fun to talk to. Every time after talking to her I felt like I got smarter.

All art majors MUST take Prof. Boettger. Everything I've learned in her classes was extremely useful and crucial for my art classes. She talks a lot about composition, form, color and other formal elements. So instead of memorizing all the dry facts about paintings you'll get something extra. She is an amazing instructor and an interesting person.

if you major in art, take her and really listen to her. She can teach you lot of things. Don't fool around or ignore the things she says, otherwise you'll do bad in this class. She is a very picky woman. She will not give you good grades easily, but if you try, you will.

she is nice but not easy. Many assignments and papers ... very picky on how you write her papers .. If you do not plan on majoring in art, then do not take her. Other than that, she is great! Very passionate about art!

She seemed knowledgeable and passionate on the subject. The lectures were honestly not that bad. The work load was ABSURD. I took it as an elective, and I did more work in that class than all of my others combined. We also had to make not one, but TWO trips to NY. We also had a $100 text book which really isn't necessary but needed for assignments.

I was always excited for this class. She is a great professor, who is knowledgable and full of ardor for what she does. If you show her that you're a hard worker who is willing to put in the effort to learn, then she will return the favor 100 times back. She makes you feel so enthusiastic about everything else in life!

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS ATTEND CLASS. You get 50 extra credit points if you get perfect attendance. 10 extra if you see her in her office once. I did decent on everything and still got an A. Just don't be lazy.

If you have a serious interest in art, take her. Very knowledgeable (wrote for major art magazines), wise, and pretty cool actually. The only reason she has bad reviews is because she expects you to treat this like a college-level class, though she can be a little intense. Wouldn't call her or the class easy.

Please take this class if your gonna work hard for your future. I wanted to drop this class coz of what people were saying about prof Boettger. She's difficult , yes, I took this class without the intentions of getting even a C or B but I showed her that I was a hard worker and she rewarded me by giving me an A. She taught me to work hard in life.
