Great class, prof makes it very interesting. Layed back attitude, difficult grader but gives lots of opportunities to improve grade. Fun professor.

Definitely a best choice for any students talking Eng2100. She's funny, helpful, and especially, very smart. She treats students like high school kids. Dont get me wrong! She knows what mistakes we will make as a "high-schoolist" and is willing to correct them! Highly recommended A+++!

The best professor I've had so far! Her class is laid back, but we got a lot of work done. The readings and novel were very enjoyable. She is a very fair grader and allows re-writes. There were 3 essays, a small 2 page project, and 1 test. She is very helpful and enjoys teaching. You must take her! Highly, Highly Recommended!

Highly recommended! Awesome class. Good choice of short stories and essay topics that leave you feeling like you actually discovered something new; rather than found the same old regurgitated spiel. You'll be working for your A but you'll be doing it in a friendly and active environment and you'll enjoy the subject matter. Worth waking up at 7:30!

Wicked smart, super hot even before 9am. (good hair). Sit in the front...she writes on the board a lot. Besides that--you actually learn about literature, even if you don't want to.

Prof. Riordan is awesome! She is extremely nice, very helpful, and gives a fair amount of work. What's great is that the literature we read was different from the usual pieces that are covered over and over again. It was refreshing! I'd take her class again in a heartbeat. You must take her class! A++++!

Amazing class. We read short stories, poems, a novel and drama. Despite all the readings, the class was extremely enjoyable and laid back. Prof. Riordan isn't a very easy grader, but she provides valuable feedback, that students can use to help improve their writing. She also allows revisions, which is great. I wish she taught ENG 2800 or 2850.

The most lineant teacher you could find. She gives you enough time to hand in essays. In class essays are so easy. And the research paper is done on any topic you want. Cant get any better. Highly recomemded.

Rioridan is a really nice professor!! If you get the chance when the seats aren't full TAKE HER, not those other crappy English teachers that give you a C on an essay for 10 hours of work. You still do work, but we watched some interesting movies as well and she even gave cookies out! If I can get an A, anyone can do it!

One of the best professors in Baruch. So rarely does one actually learn about being creative in a class, instead of making money or something. The only difficult part of the class can be paying attention to the lesson, because she is so breath-takingly stunning that I often go into a trance staring at her incredibly gorgeous figure.

Professor Riordan is incredibly nice to you. I would take her again and again if I could. A few papers, an incredibly easy midterm and final, and you have to read of course but no homework. She doesn't get all 5s for nothing.

Best English professor at Baruch! Just read the readings for homework which you won't find boring...do the easy essays n final paper of your choice. Easy midterm and final...can't complain..easy A. She is such a nice teacher and is very helpful!!!!

It's a very interesting course. You read short stories, poetry, and drama (plays). The ones she picks are all very interesting to read. Very little hw if any, 3 essays, midterm, and final. They are not hard at all as long as you put some thought into it. She's very nice. Be respectful and pay attention.

she was cool. she picked interesting stories. most were related to ireland and catholicism in some way or another, i guess since she is irish. class is cool once you read the stories. she is also very understanding and willing to help you out and strech her deadlines if you cannot make them. i got an a- and i did not even do all the papers.

Best english teacher i've ever had. Very helpful! You have to read a story for each class but i found them interesting/tolerating. Grades essays very good - there are 3 essays, a research paper and a final, not too bad Definately take her!

Best class ever! She's not boring, all the readings are interesting. Easy grader and also lets you rewrite essays. She's young so she relates to her students really well. She was my LC professor & I took her for ENG 2100 & ENG 2150 because I liked her that much. Class was cancelled often & we got out of class early pretty often as well.

I just got my grade today, my first A in English, that was the purpose of taking her. She is easygoing, lenient about absence and deadlines for paper. I have to say she is one of the easiest English professor in Baruch, take her if u have tough courses, and need a break like this class!, Above 90 in her class is A.

Often late and [last minute] absent. Her assignments are easy with ample time and a chance at revision. We did writing exercises in the Handbook and analyzed essays in the Reader. I don't feel like I've learned much.

Relatively an easy class- if you put in effort though. An "A" is not out of the question---> as long as you do the assignments the way she wants them, in the proper form. If you give them in on time, you get them back for rewrites so that you can get points back. Sweet teacher, can make jokes in class but don't be too sarcastic. An "A" is doable

way too laid back.often absent or late. quite lazy n takes long time giving papers back. keeps telling she will post the grades or whatsoever but hardly does it. i liked the class; was able to chill n have fun. if u r serious, not recommended, if you wanna have fun, TAKE HER. you'll have to listen to her life-stories though

As everyone said before shes a truly easy going, caring and nice professor. It really shows that she tries hard to explain the material and get students to a understanding. you will definitely learn alot from her if you listen! However she does tend to be absent last minute and some of her assignments are unclear and confusing. My advice, TAKE HER!

Professor Riordan is the BEST! She is very laid back, young, interesting and caring. She cares for all of her students, the person saying she was "high" is dumb and probably failed her class. She is young and very professional. She keeps her class awake and entertained, all the reading are interesting, I learned so much from her.

I've had her for two consecutive semesters, and all I've got to say is that if you see any open spots in her class, do not hesitate to register for it. She's always willing to help you out if you are willing to be helped. Very relaxed class yet they're still very helpful. She's very lenient in terms of understanding your views. A+ Professor.

Okay this is a very easy professor. But you can't expect not to do anything and get an A-. If you do well in the quizzes midterms and finals. You are garunteed an A. But if you skip classes your GRADE WILL BE LOWERED. Trust me even if you don't pay attention make sure you got to class! Other than that make sure you participate in class

My friends suggested me to take her. She is one of the best professors if you do the readings and are attentive in the class. Although I was expecting an A- at least, I don't have any complaints. She is generous with grading. Recommended only if you are willing to work. Don't take her just because you want an "easy A"

The class itself is easy. Readings are short. Professor is really nice. Do all the work, come to classes and participate - guaranteed A. She gives time to correct your papers, just do it on time. I went to writing center twice. They also help a lot.

The workload is more than the other 4 classes combined! Quizzes almost every class. Professor is generous in grading and allows rewrite but you have to work for it. Got an A but worked my ass off.

Professor Riordan made my semester worth it. She was excellent. Very liberal and hilarious. If you're an ass, of course you're going to do poorly, because Riordan doesn't tolerate BS (thankfully). She is a graduate of Baruch, and you can ignore every other review on here that says otherwise; Riordan is wonderful, and loves literature.

Very fair teacher! Yes there are quizzes almost every week but the quizzes are very easy and general questions that are based on the readings. You can even look up the stories on SparkNotes and pass the quizzes. PLUS she drops 5 of the 15 quizzes. Discusses everything in detail and there are only 3 papers.

Professor Riordan was a great English instructor to start with for someone whose English is not at its best. She doesn't give feedback on the papers as she has many papers to grade. Her classes are very enjoyable if you do the readings and participate.

Lots of readings to do but she is a very nice professor. Explains what is required and allows rewrites of papers. Take her you wont regret. To me she was an easy grader.

English is not my best subject but Professor Riodoran made it bareable this semester. There's plenty of reading to do, 3 papers and 1 final research paper. I'd say she's an intelligent and understanding professor and as long as you're respectful it should be a fine class.

Great Professor. She does expect us to do work, but she is extremely open to help you. Her essays are relatively easy and the workload is extremely manageable. Her lectures are a bit boring but at the same time she is a such a nice person. SO take if you want an easy English class. I got an A- and that has never happened to me in an English course.

Professor Riordan was a great teacher. She assigned readings every class and we would have to discuss them. Rarely had any quizzes. We had a few papers and she would look at your rough draft and tell you very briefly what needs to be fixed. Extremely nice and understanding teacher. Would recommend

She taught 2 classes at my school (NYU) and at Baruch. She's an adjunct and uses the book for almost every class. You can find most of the essays online but following along in class when everyone else has the book will be hard. She will work with you on your papers and will allow you to give in a better final draft if she thinks you can do better.

What an amazing professor. She is such a sweetheart. She definitely made this class manageable. She gives quizzes once a week, but does not say which day they will be given, therefore, attendance is crucial. When discussing the readings, you can tell she is very passionate about the topics behind them. I would definitely take her class again.

She is a great professor! She is funny and caring, she truly wants you to succeed and to think critically. The topic for our course was "connecting life and literature", and she made sure we can relate to whatever we were reading and discussing.

Took the summer session and it was an easy A. Funny professor, brings personal life into the classroom - not too strict on lateness and is available outside of class. Engaging and an overall great English teacher. She knows that not everyone wants to be an English major so just teaches things that are good to be familiar with.

Professor Riordan is great at what she does, the pace of the course is quite lax aside from reading on your own which shouldn't be too much of a problem. She provides a lot of useful advice too.

If you have the chance to take her, do it, except if you have sensitivities to emotional outbursts, as they are frequent. Only 3 papers the entire semester. Professor Riordan was absolutely amazing!! She is so so sweet and understanding. The assignments are pretty easy but sometimes lengthy, however, she makes sure to meet with students to give feedback/advice before it's officially due. I would take this class a thousand times if I could, I loved it.

I loved this professor; she is so silly and hilarious! Sometimes the works can be confusing, but it's not difficult at all. She likes to talk about many random topics, and to be fair, we did little to nothing in this class. You just kind of sit through this class, which, is boring, but it's better than having a strict teacher with 20 assignments.

She was actually a really good professor! Class was sometimes slow due to not many students participating or simply because she would be talking but overall the class was not difficult. There are three papers and one magazine project. She gave good feedback in the papers and answered emails pretty quickly. She was very sweet and caring.
