Finance is no easy class - but she does a great job covering it. Lots of examples, clear explanations, and always willing to help. I'd take another class of hers.

This woman is professional and helpful. She is always very clear and makes finance seem like any other subject. You won't feel intimidated or stupid in her class. She actually makes time in class available to answer questions.

Finance is not easy, but Cottreau is on of the most helpful profs you will find, not to mention she is one of the few that actually knows her stuff! Also answers many questions in class and will go out of her way to help you. Excellent finance prof...do yourself a favor and take it with her!

By far the best Prof. for Finance and overall the best Prof. Ive ever had. Will do anything for you and provides handouts for everything that you need to know. She also provides you with her home phone number and tells you to call her anytime if you have a problem.

Finance has never really been my thing, but she gives a lot of notes and examples, is always willing to help out in her office and answers her emails very promptly. The class is pretty boring, but I she is great example for other profs.

She is seriously the best prof you will ever have at smu. Last year she won the Prof of the Year in the Commerce Falculty, and it was certainly well deserved. I wish I had more finance to take just to be in her class!!

If there is no Suzanne at SMU, so many students would be in a hell for sure!!!!!!! Make sure you catch up with the class and go over assignments plus, if possible, practice problems before the mid and final.

Best prof for finance, she is so organized well mannered and intelligent. so devoted to ensuring everyone gets it. goes as far as giving tutorials at night, and allows home calls even though he has a family. wat more can you ask for? id take the course again but i got the A already!!

By far, one of the best profs at SMU. She is AMAZING. She does everything possible to make sure you understand the material to be learnt. (Has tutorials and even accepts house calls, eventhough she has a family to take care of.) A very brilliant woman and her appearance is pleasing to the eyes :)

If you take this course, try to get into her section! She's very thorough, she explains and gives great examples in class. She gives handouts in class with lecture notes on them (not on the P-drive). The course itself is a lot of work, but she's gotta be the best prof teaching it, which makes it easier to learn.

I love this professor! She gives handouts for every chapter you cover, TONS of examples - which are a real help for the assignments because some questions are very similar to those done in class. Also gives practice problems too- bonus!She gives tutorials before the midterm and final. Really wants her students to do well and it definitely shows!

Awesome prof.

Vocal clarity, helpfulness, and willingness to assist are all excellent. The handouts she gives are all top notch (and are what got me thought the course). And the fact that she is hot, hot, hot is hurts nothing.

Very clear and understandable. Gives great examples and notes. You have to go to class to get some of the examples. She's very friendly and goods at teaching, one of the absolute best teachers I have ever had.

Most adorable prof ever. Class is very example based, which is good for those that have trouble with financial theory. She is super helpful and open to questions, and makes herself available all the time, especially for assignments and midterms. She even gave me her cell number and let me text her questions! what a sweet lady

Best Professor I have ever had. If you go to class (same with any finance course) it will be extremely easy because she gives hand outs to make your life so easy. If you ever need help good see her! Suzanne is a phenomenal professor. She makes finance simple, understanding, utilize her office hours if you do not understand something. Do all the practice problems she posts and read her notes. With this in mind go to class and pay attention and you will come out with A- or above.

I had a different prof for Finance 1 but asked her for help because I heard she was great and she helped me out a ton. I took finance 2 with her and she was amazing. Very helpful, practical and knows many different (easier) ways to explain the content. Go to class, ask for help and start your assignments a week in advance in case you have questions

She is the BEST for finance! Had her for finance 2 and she was so clear and made everything 100X easier. I cannot say enough good things about this prof. She goes over the material and through examples really clearly so everything makes sense and if someone doesn't understand anything she will go over it again until everyone gets it. Really amazing

She is one of the most understanding profs Ive ever had at SMU! Finance is a challenging subject, however she did her best to make sure you understand the concepts and materials. Study hard and review all of her practice material!

Truly one of the best profs I have had! She gives you notes that she makes that make it easier to absorb the information and make the textbook irrelevant. Just make sure you attend class to do the problems together in class but if you do miss a class everything is posted on brightspace anyway.

Best Prof at SMU hands down. She is super caring and marks really fairly. If you do all her practice questions a few times you'll ace the class. She also gives you handouts every class about the chapter you'll be learning and uses that for the tests. Best person ever!!

Outrageously good professor. I can't say enough about her, except for that I wish I could take her again for Finance 2. Responds to emails within an hour every time, and will alter your assignment grades based on your word and nothing else. Please, never change Suzanne.

She is a great teacher and you are really doing a disservice to yourself by now attending her class. Her notes are clear, concise, as well as her explanation of financial concepts that which pertain to her midterms and exams. She goes out of her way to help students especially when it comes down to midterms and exams holding her own tutorials.

Gives her own hand-outs that outline the important things you need to know in regards to midterms/exams. Quizzes are open book and easy to do. She's very organized and you can tell she cares about how the class does and wants people to feel comfortable with the material, literally gives the class her cell # so you can text her with any questions

Prof Cottreau is one of the nicest profs I've ever had in my life. She is the most caring, and patient woman to teach at SMU. Always accessible to students in office or even over text. She genuinely cares about her students succeeding. I've taken two classes with her and would take many others in the future. GET IN HER CLASS WHILE YOU CAN!!

Took Finance 2 during summer online. I found it to be much more time consuming. But if you watch the lectures, she explains concepts very well and you will understand the material. Tons of practice problems were given for each chapter. She is always available via email for help as well as the live portion of the classes. Highly recommend!!

If you can take prof Suzanne's course, please do. She's one of the best professor at SMU. She explains the concepts really clear which make the difficult concepts easier to understand. She provides lots of practice questions for students to prepare for the exam and quizzes.

Such a fantastic prof. Had Finance 2 with her (a course I was dreading) during the online semester this fall. Her explanations are so clear, she never tries to scare students, and she's so patient when students don't understand the material. She's a professor who will go above and beyond to make sure everyone succeeds.

Would highly recommend taking this course with professor Cottreau especially if youre not strong at math. This is a hard class for a lot of students and she explains it very well. She replies to emails very quickly as well.

Prof Cottreau is an incredible prof and should teach a class on how to be a good prof. She always has time for questions and never makes anyone feel bad for asking how or why. Her notes are perfectly clear. The exams are exactly what we covered in class. Doesn't get better than her.

This Prof is one of the best Profs at SMU. Attendance isn't mandatory but trust me when you attend the first class, you will never wanna miss a single class. This Lady literally puts so much effort into making sure everyone suceeds. She makes finance SO EASY! . It's so easy to get an A plus in this course if you attend class.

Suzanne is one of the best finance profs at SMU. FINA 2360 isn't the easiest course if math isn't your strongest skill. However, the extra practice problems she uploads along with the extra recordings help immacuately. Definitely one of my favourite courses once you get good at the work. Exam was worth 47%,midterm 35% and 10% on various assignments

She really cares about her students and very well spoken during her lectures. She takes time to go through examples and listen to her students. She offers full support in class and outside of class and makes difficult concepts feel much easier. Highly recommend one of the best instructors I have had.

I love her. She is the reason why I am majoring in Finance. Sure, the tests and midterms are heavily weighted, but tbh, if she is your professor, you should be fine. She teaches so well, she is very clear, does soooo many examples.

Great professor, examples and explanations are very clear in class. If you show up in class and do most of your work, and do some minor studying before the heavily weighted midterm and final you will do just fine. Textbook not necessary, A+ without it because he lectures were great.
