One of the best professors I had in my life. I Diffidently recommend her.
worst professor ever. her exams are like the hardest thing ever. she try to confuse you, she never give straight answers.
The class was really interesting. She explains subject very well. First exam was tough, but then I studied for the rest and did great! Wish she taught more econ courses.
Her exams are hard, Not easy class to take. Sometime, she confused her students. I don't recommend to take this class.
Great professor! Made Econ 205 (a difficult subject) as easy to learn as anyone could. I highly recommend this professor for any class.
Amazing Professor!! Take ECO 205 with her!!!
One of the best professors i have ever taken classes with. Makes you solve every problem in class and checks it with you, that it makes it impossible not to get an ''A''. Doesn't give HW. And has a really fun and enjoyable personality. Because of her i'm in love with economics. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TAKING HER CLASS !!!!
Love her !!
Some of her analogies are hard to follow, test are hard but not impossible. You have to study but she is very helpful if you need extra help and will even tutor on weekends! Super nice and can tell she enjoys teaching. If I had to do it over I would still take her. :)
Hard class enough said
Macro is extremely hard, but that has nothing to do with the professor, tis just the material in general. BUT Suzanne is the BEST professor ive had yet. She actually cares and she is very helpful and goes out of her way to make time to help! If you take macro, get her or you prob will fail!
Best Professor Ever!!! Love Her! Thinking of taking intermediate Econ. (with her) because of the way she teaches.
She is nice and tried to make the subject more enjoyable but that's where it ends. She is scattered and all over the place. Can be very hard to follow at times, gets off topic. If your an organized learner this class may be harder for you. Also exams are difficult and a lot more in depth than class lecture/review.
One of the best professors at UT. Her class was pretty easy and she created a friendly environment in her class. She talks alot and time flys when your in her class. The tests are fairly easily, its multiple choice, but make sure you read the book and study before the tests.
Her tests are tough, but if you pay attention in class and do the assigned readings you'll do very well.
She simply the best!! I took her in the summer and it was awsome. No final, just 5 exams and drop the lowest. She is very very helpful, when class done, she always stayed with me and keep teaching me till I got it. Oh, and she is hot, too ;) highly recommended.
She tries to make it as interesting as possible. She has a good way of explaining everything well. The online assignments are more for background information and they do help. Easy and understandable class.
She wants you to learn. The tests are hard, but not impossible. Overall, she is a great professor.
She's awesome. Makes the material easy to understand and even if you're having trouble she will take the time to help you. She's fair and her lectures are easy to listen to. I would take this professor again.
The best professor I have had at UT. She is very helpful and will do anything to help you understand. There are four exams with an optional final and she will drop the lowest score. No homework and attendance isn't mandatory but I would suggest going since her tests are made from her notes and not the book. Take her if you can!!
Thinks she's trying to help but isn't. She gets off topic more then any professor I've ever had. Only grades off 4 tests and they are next to impossible. You have to really understand Macro before the class or you will fail.
Great professor with a good sense of humor. Always there to help when needed and gives interesting and informative lectures that make the book unnecessary. She only gives 4 exams throughout the semester with no assignments or any other grading component. All exams are straightforward and from the lecture. Optional final to make up for past exam
This lady makes no sense, and I was screwed on the tests because we really had nothing clear to study.
Great professor. If you want an A in the class she will work with you to ensure you get one! Amazing lectures, in-class activities for grade boosters, Homework graded for completeness not correctness. Overall great class.
She's the best. Professor Dieringer makes Macro easy and understandable. If you have to take Macro do yourself a favor and take it with Dieringer.
Professor Dieringer is the best the professor I have had at UT. So outgoing and the nicest lady ever. Lectures are good and she is always willing to help. She really connects with her students and does a great job.
This class was pretty lecture-based, but she was very enthusiastic when teaching, which helped. The textbook was needed for homework questions but you weren't really required to read it most of the time (I did often however to enhance my understanding). This subject is not the easiest but her lectures definitely made it less painful to learn about.
If you show up to class you should be able to get an A. All of what is on the exams are from lectures. Tests are usually only out of 15 questions so if you screw one things up, you will receive a bad grade. She helps so much in office hours though, it is worth your time.
10/10 recommend. she is so nice and makes the class so fun!
she makes this class super easy. there are alot of group projects but they are fun
BUS 101 is an extremely annoying course, there is a lot of online work through the textbook. Professor Dieringer tries to make class fun and interesting and is a very nice and funny woman. Not much she can do to change the workload of the course, but she does give extra credit and does all she can to help
Great professor. Made class fairly enjoyable and easygoing. All the BUS 101 courses have the same curriculum allegedly but I would def recommend taking Prof D's class. Fun professor, fair grader, class was enjoyable.
Good professor. Fairly tough class. Whatever ECO you take second (micro or macro) is easier in my opinion because they are pretty similar. Definitely a fairly challenging class especially if it's your first eco class, but if you show up and put in the effort it is doable to get a good grade. Not an easy A by any means, but she is a fun professor
She is extremely funny! Interesting and entertaining, overall a great class. Just 3 tests and a final. There are also a couple of HW that she gives you before the tests for you to study and they are usually really similar to the actual test. Test are about 2p multiple choice (VERY tricky) and 4 free response (usually similar to the HW)
I heard she is good teaching every other class except this one. Never clear in her lectures, and gives hardly any work making the test weigh that much more. Honestly would avoid taking her for Microeconomics.
She knows what she is teaching and knows how to teach it. The material is hard to learn so you definitely need to see her outside of class for help. She is very nice and class is laid back.
Terrible Professor. The few times that she did actually lecture, she did not know the material and we would have to explain to her what the chapters were on. She did not understand the concepts that we learned and expected us to. Do not take her.
She was a great business teacher. She makes learning the material fun and thoroughly engages the class. There is a lot to learn, but it was broken down so that it was easier to understand. Deadlines are pretty strict though, so everything should be done on time.
Prof D is great. She has a very vivid way of teaching that is story based. A lot of energy and always smiling, but not afraid to call you out. Would definitely recommend her to others.
I LOVE HER! She is an awesome professor who really cares about her students! I highly recommend taking her! She gives a lot of opportunities to come to her class and practice and ask any questions. I cannot tell you how many hours I spent in her office learning Macroeconomics. Taking her again this summer!
Professor Dieringer grades assignments insanely harsh for an entry-level business class. She is lenient with certain due dates, but takes grading the assignments way too seriously. She does not prepare you well for the tests. No matter how hard I studied I continuously got 70s because she never taught us the material that would be on the test.
This is the secong time I have taken Dr. Dieringer. She is really nice and all. The tests are tough. I didn't do very well, because I underestimated Macro after I did very well in Micro.
This is my second time having Professor D after having her over the summer. She is honestly great, very lively, and encouraging. She is routing for you and wants you to do well. The tests are hard but the department creates them, and she always offers extra help and extra credit to help. Literally what you put in, is what you will get out. Love her
I love Prof D, she is so amazing. I really loved microeconomics and am taking macro with her next semester. She's always available for office hrs and is willing to help until you understand the topic clearly. Her tests aren't bad at all and the book she suggests really helps. You are basically graded on 4 tests and maybe 1-2 quizzes. She's Awesome!
I love Prof D she is amazing, I took her for both macro and micro. I received an A in both. The way she runs class is great there are a few group projects in macro and then mainly tests. The tests are not very difficult and she always gives spot-on examples in class of what will be on the tests. Definitely recommend Prof D!
she truly cares about her students success. Her tests can be difficult but she has so many office hours that you can go to and receive help from her. She really tries hard to explain things in the best way possible and her teaching style is very laid back and relatable.
This is tough because I like Professor D as a person. But after taking her class for 2 semesters, I noticed office hours help but she is not always understanding or helpful. She usually makes everyone almost fail first with no curve or extra credit and then decides to drop everyone's bad grades to save herself,2 classes in a row.
At the beginning of the semester, I thought she would be a great teacher, but as time progressed she really started to be a very bad prof. She does not listen to her students about feedback, and she makes explanations of content very hard. If you ask, for help she will either tell you to do it yourself or just make you more confused.
Cant really get her point across to students
Professor D is a great person overall and I do respect her but she genuinely does not care about her students feedback. The tests are difficult and that is the main portion of your grade because she does not give lots of homework. Never felt like I was taught the material on the tests
barely gives hw but test count for over 70% of your grade wouldn't take her class if you aren't a good test taker . 3 or 4 test per semester each test is basically worth 20% of your grade . Don't get me wrong she's a great person her teaching technique isn't the best
She explains stuff really well and as long as you take notes, you should be completely fine. You dont have to come to class but you should at least join the Zoom. She does not go too fast and even if you can always ask her to go to the last slide we discussed or like 2 slides back and you can always ask questions
Easy A, dont need to actually attend class, just make sure to do the homework and study a little for the exams:)
I had her for Microeconomics and it was so hard. She grades really hard on homework assignments, projects, and exams. We had 5 exams, all super difficult, I felt like everything we did in class didn't help me at all on the exams. She also takes notes in such a messy way so that when you try to go back to study them, they make no sense. Goodluck.
Her discussions are so hard ,she gives hard activites and shes not a fair grader
She is very nice and cares about her students, but she is all over the place in class and her notes don't make much sense. Her exams are very difficult I never got better than an 80 and I actually put time and effort into studying. I love her as a person but I will not be taking macro with her, her class is VERY hard.
Never got better then a 75 on her exams. She seems like a really nice person but the way she teaches just doesn't help me at all. 4 exams each semester. I've tried to study for each exam but the notes don't help. Good luck.
She is incredible. Her exams are based 100% on her lectures, so be in class and take notes. HW is hard, but she has plenty of office hours and is always willing to help. I made between 85-100% on her 4 exams and the exams are based on memorizing and applying concepts rather than definitions. I highly recommend her if you actually want to learn.
she was really sweet and helped out a lot with questions, but the tests were brutal. I got 100s on all the homework and then would scrape by 75 on the exams, so it left me with an AB in the class. She let you go over the tests after you took them, but I was always very disappointed, especially bc there was no way to study for the muli choice.
Awesome Professor who knows exactly what she is doing. Very caring and always willing to help. No excuses for being late with your MindTap homework! Her students are her priority and she always has your best interest at heart
Professor D is a great professor, especially for micro! Attendance is not mandatory, however, it truly helps. She takes it slow and always stops mid-lecture if anyone has questions. No quizzes, just weekly online homework and 4 tests with an optional final. Micro is hard but she makes it easy and applies it to the real world.
Just took her for my first year class but she did her job and taught me what I needed to know. She just doesn’t like when you don’t show up or show up late because it’s literally a 50 minute class. She’s a nice lady though. Definitely cares about making the class enjoyable.
I've taken her for both macro and micro. Her exams are based on her lectures, no book needed for macro. I'd recommend her to people who want to walk out knowing what they just had a course on. She tests on the application of concepts, not definitions. I'd recommend her to econ majors, if you want an easy A this isn't the class. I loved the class.
No textbook and attendance not mandatory so if you skip class and do not take notes there is no question it will be difficult. She is an amazing teacher & person.. very lecture heavy so make sure to take good notes and ask for clarification. she always slows down as needed so the class understands. exams can be tough so study and go to office hours
If you already have some good basics in Math this is the easiest class you'll ever take at UT.
Overall, this class was a 4 hour headache every week, lectures not engaging. At first she seemed nice and open to ideas from students but then became a bit irritable and shot down students ideas left and right. Definitely deterred participation and then wondered why. The final project and midterm were tough and highly critiqued. Avoid this class
Professor D. is truly so sweet and an amazing professor. However, this class is hard, even for an honors class. There is lots of readings and the final project is worth 40% of your grade. Additionally, an A in the class is 94.5% or higher, which is a crazy standard. Professor D is awesome, just not this class.
there are only 4 exams. attendance is optional. she makes it very clear what is on the test and what she expects from you. if you pay attention in class, you will get 100s on every test. there is occasional homework but you get three attempts and if you get most right shell give you a 100%. the final is optional and will replace lowest exam score
Prof.D is super caring. Her lectures are very good because she tries to use as many real-life examples as possible and tries to make sure you can wrap your head around them. The math and numbers did make this a little more difficult but if you go to office hours and involve yourself in the course it will help. She gets to know students and cares.
If you are thinking about taking this teacher for micro, good luck. She goes way off topic when she is teaching students. When she gets tired at the end of the class she gets tired and makes simple mistakes. And when she made those mistakes, it would throw the whole learning off. If you care about your gpa and your grades, don't take this teacher.
I love this class! I think her lectures help students understand the information instead of just memorization or boring power point slides (aka she actually teaches). Going to class is not mandatory but I would highly recommend it will help tremendously. I also think she is very caring and overall seems nice! I am taking her again for macro.
I love how she actually teaches and doesn't use a slideshow. She writes everything on the board and only teaches what's important for exams. Attendance isn't mandatory but nothing gets posted on Blackboard and you won't get all the information you need from the homework. Interesting material and she moves pretty quick so it's not a boring class.
Prof D might be my favorite teacher that I have had at UT. She explains such a confusing class in such an easy way that I actually enjoyed it. Although attendance isn't mandatory, it really helps to go to every class. Grade consists of a weekly hw assignment and then three tests with an optional final to replace your lowest test grade.
Not my favorite professor, but not terrible. She's nice and helps outside of class. Tells you what the open-ended are on exams. Mc is confusing. Hw is pointless, doesn't help for exams. Class isn't mandatory, but miss a class and you'll be confused. Final is optional. Not the worst choice. Definitely have to work hard on your own for your grade.
Prof D is extremely sweet. If you put in effort and give enough time studying, tests aren't too hard. She's very good at answering emails and giving help if you need it. Her as a professor she's good, her as a person very caring and nice. I wouldn't recommend skipping class because you will fall behind. Opt final to replace lowest grade is a plus
She is a genuinely nice woman, she wants all of her students to do well. Always available for extra help, so if you use her help you will get a good grade. There is an optional final that will replace your lowest test grade if you choose to take it. I am in allied health and know nothing about business did not find her class to be very difficult.
Prof D has to be one of the greatest professors at UT. She is a very caring professor and really cares about all her students. She is willing to help you at any time when you have questions. I only got a C because I work a full-time job. I recommend this professor if you want a professor that is willing to help you pass and cares about you.
Attendance is not mandatory but go to class!!!! Her exams are based on her lectures and her lectures only. She is the sweetest person ever, go to office hours!! She is very understanding especially when you stay connected with her.
LOVE HER. would absolutely recommend to anyone taking micro and macro (although I know she's just offering one of them now). But phenomenal prof and person. Talks fast but will work with you outside of class and help you out if you are putting the work in. Makes great personal relationships with students and is a really inspirational woman.
I really liked her as a professor. Her 2 hour class never went the full time. Graded by 4 exams and a homework grade, and the final was optional to replace your lowest grade. Super sweet, helpful professor. Class was pretty easy, would have got a higher grade if I applied myself more and went to class more often. Would def recommend taking her.
I love prof D, but Im not a fan of the class; its not even the coursework that I dont like. Its how they say theyre leaving stuff up to interpretation and then grade you harshly on an invisible rubric. Fun class and I learned alot, just a tad unorganized. Love the profs. A's are now 93% btw and quizzes instead of a midterm, 1 paper, 2 presentations
Prof D was by far the worst professor that I've had at UT so far. Talks way too fast and her exam reviews only help with the open ended part of the exam. I attended every class and the lectures didn't help me at all. I wish I took someone else for micro because I truly feel like I would've done better with any other professor.
One of the best professors at UT. Took her for both 204 and 205 and loved every second of both courses. Great professor and an even greater person.
Great professor and caring. Lectures can be confusing, but that can be remedied if you read the book and ask questions. SHE WILL TAKE THE TIME TO EXPLAIN IF YOU ASK. Go to class and you'll be fine. Just go to her office hours and work things out. What you put in, you'll get out.
Professor D is very caring, but you will only get a good grade if you are following around and go to every office hour. She has a lot of favoritism toward some of the students. Her lectures are confusing and her tests even more. The multiple choice she does not explain anything about, there are always three open ended that are easy if you practice.
You have to be in class to get the notes because everything on the exams is what she teaches in class. It's easy to understand if you pay attention. She's a little crazy in the best way possible, and I really enjoy her class. No homework except a few online modules to do before the exams. Your grade really depends on exam grades.
Such a lovely professor who makes learning fun and her lectures are engaging. Your grade is pretty much based off of the four exams (optional final) and a few homework grades. She is super helpful and her teaching style is very visual which is helpful for economics.
She is a nice lady who is fair and cares for students. But, I would not recommend taking her. There is basically nothing on canvas or any materials you can use to teach yourself the information or study from. Every bit of information comes from the lectures so if you miss even one class there is no way to learn the content.
Genuinely one of the best real college professors I've ever had. Not only does she care about every student understanding the material, but she does an amazing job explaining everything. If you bring a notebook and a pencil and watch her explain the material, you shouldn't have a problem. Grades is test heavy but the final replaces the lowest one.
She was very nice but almost too nice. Class is not mandatory, but you'll have a very hard time learning material if you don't show. Tests are pretty tough, one had an average of 64%, and it is pretty hard to find things to study. Lots of hard homework and pointless video quizzes that take time to complete. Overall, did not enjoy the class much.
Im surprised she doesn't have a horrible rating on here considering that most of her students hate her. She is the worst professor here at UT. Expects you to learn and remember the material when she writes random things on the board and yaps the whole time. Her teaching style has absolutely ZERO structure not even sure why she is a professor.
HORRIBLE. DO NOT TAKE. YOU ARE BETTER OFF TAKING ANY CLASS OF HERS SOMEWHERE ELSE. (this is coming from someone who has an A)
the homework was so hard and time consuming- and sometimes did not even relate to the exams or lectures. Expect to put so much time and effort into this class. She was a very nice and caring teacher. There is an optional final which was nice to replace your worst exam grade. However, this does not help much.
Material is easy but this lady is the laziest teacher on planet earth, she would only teach based of the textbook. She would make us do graded HW on course material that we never went over. Super frusterating if youre a student and taking her class. Gives a group project with little to no instruction and gives bad grade of good quality project.HATE
She doesnt go by a textbook so what she writes and erases on the board is your exam. The exam you really need to study for. The open ended she tells you what it is on but the MC is hard. There are only 3 exams and some homework here and there. So you need to do good on the exams. She is funny and great person but fast and confusing.
She's a nice person but a terrible professor. I would go to every single class and not miss once, and I still didn't understand. 4 exams and a TON of homework that's graded on average and tons of useless video quizzes that are time-consuming. Do yourself a favor and don't take her.
if you miss one class your screwed, the exams cover things she barely goes over, textbook won't help study, don't take.
Just go to class, and you will be fine. Definitely exam-heavy, but they are not too bad, and she goes over exactly how to do the written problems, which are the biggest part of the exams. Homeworks are easy and free points. Really nice as well.
