She wants to help her students do good, tests r hard, but she is a good teacher
Grating voice, pro-women bias, annoying lectures. There are better/easier profs.

If you would like to die of boredom than this is the perfect class for you!
very knowlledgeable. great discussions
this instructor teaches the way a college professor is suppose to. For all those whiney babies out there that think she is hard, wait until you transfer into the real world.
I took her for 108 and went back to her for 109. I recieved one C and one B. She is NOT that hard. She gives you outlines for every day. You just need to listen and take notes. She gives detailed study guides for tests. If you can't pass, you're lazy.
I highly recommend this teacher! Her class was a challenge but very interesting. She offers extra credit which is really cool and she really just wants you to succeed! Learning about modern women's history was more interesting than early women's history.
She is specific, but she does give out study guides. In this class there's a lot of material she wants you to learn, the movies are helpful, just do your homework.
worst teacher ever. she talks for days about stuff that doesn't even matter and then gives tests on 5 chapters at a time so you have to study like 250 pages for teh exam. also gice crazy reading assignments
I usually don't even like History, but I have really enjoyed this class. She knows a lot and obviously loves what she is doing. Just study the vocab and if you don't pass, you're not trying hard enough.
Do not take unless you are interested in womens history. She only likes viewing history from that perspective. Her voice sounds like she has been smoking since she was 12 and constantly says "ummmm". Would not suggest taking her.
Has a really weird and annoying voice. Thank god I took the internet class. The internet class is easy yet hard. Easy because you have open book un-timed test. Hard because you have to read the book and hope you got the same thing out of it to do test.
ANN0YING VOICE, DOES NOT WANT TO GIVE A'S --- EVEN WHEN STUDENTS DESERVE THEM! CAN BE NICE.
Take the online class and be prepared to spend 4-5 hours per week doing the assignments. A's are possible if you put the effort into it and are a detailed person. Don't take her if you just want to pass - this class is work, but it is college, right?
hard but fair, sounds alot like pat, very annoying
Tough class online, but worth the effort. You definitely earn your grade! Most questions get answered by referring to the syllabus, so always check there first! Several opps for extra credit. Plan to spend 4-5 hours a week for the online class.
VERY CHALLENGING CLASSES BUT COMPLETELY WORTH THE EFFORT.DO THE READING/TAKE GOOD NOTES/AND BY ALL MEANS,DO THE PRACTICE QUIZZES AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED WITH A GRADE WORTHY OF YOUR EFFORTS. EXCELLENT INSTUCTOR/HIGHLY RECOMMEND/SHE KNOWS HER STUFF!!!
very organized, detailed, but went over too much information at a time. she is a fair teacher, but there were few points in the class so you have to listen and do well on the tests. she just lectured too much for me. all in all she is a good teacher.
Just ok....
HARD CLASS. Test topics sometimes unclear, too much information being introduced at one time. VOCABULARY VERY IMPORTANT! Teacher talks a lot during videos which is frustrating. Test questions too wordy and confusing. But very helpful if you need anything
Too much reading. Unclear.
A teacher that has one of the worst voices ever. Not clear and not organized. Grades only constist of 3 tests and a few quizes so you can't mess up or you fail. Too much info introduced and the tests are unclear and very hard.
very hard but helpful, if you enjoy history then i recomend her but otherwise she's kinda annoying with that voice, so its hard to concentrate
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. TRUST ME.
easy class. you get no homework except for simple group activities that are a page long. basically all the preparing you should do to get an A is study for the tests. She grades on a curve and offers extra credit along with website questions with answers that appear on her tests.
Challenging but do-able. Don't take on-line if you're not a self-motivator, it can be very time consuming. Quizzes are open book no time-limit, test are timed and more difficult. X-credit is available. She's very open and helpful.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had! Do not take her! She is very hard, and very unclear!
This teacher is a pain. The kicker is the -requirement- that you IM her with a study question on MSN at least once per exam term (There are three.) The teacher treats the class like it's high school and creates a stifling atmosphere. Do not take this class if you want to be treated like an adult.
i took the online course. the amount of reading is insane. there are discussion board questions as well as online assignments that take hours to do. she wants thorough answers but it seems that no matter how thorough you believe you are, its never enough. man. it sucked.
The class was very hard and time consuming. Your answers to the discussion board better be essay length, and to get full credit on anything, you have to basically re-write the book. She was short and rude when you asked for help....dont take her if you can help it.
she is way to hard
Very hard class. I've gotten straight A's until her classes. Test question answers are unclear, an insane amount of reading, excessive discussion posts. I took online and would spend pretty much an entire weekend doing work. Take someone else if possible. Teacher seems to enjoy being difficult - almost proud of it. Did not enjoy at all!!!
she is not easy. very nice lectures and wants you to know the things she covres in the class.not a lot of homework just 3 tests and a few group works. i liked her class although history is not my favorate subject.
It is ridiculous how much busy work there is. I didn't learn anything new. I was this huge burden every Sunday. I wouldn't take another class with her because no matter what you do it doesn't really amount to anything. The easys are so difficult with hours and hours of research from the websites she tells you to go to.
Class is not set up well at all. The quizes are easy but the tests are impossible to finish within the amount of time givin. All of the dates on the online syllabus are wrong.
I took the 6 week online summer course. I do not recommend this class unless this is the ONLY course you are taking in the summer. Requires reading 2+ chapters per week. Tests on every chapter and Quiz recapping every 3 chapters. You must post to the forums constantly! VERY TIME CONSUMING! Overall good instructor and willing to help if needed.
One of the worst classes I have ever taken. I dropped it half way through, and had I been smarter, I would have done it a heck of a lot sooner. Worst teacher ever. Expects way too much, and speaks so horribly unclear. Take another teacher!!
this teacher is the worst teacher i've ever had for an online class... she gives no direction and takes over a week sometimes to reply to an email.... i reccomend not taking on of her classes unless you really like to torture you're GPA
This teacher sucks! Her requirements are just too much for a JC. Online I thought would be better? No, she doesnt want to help you and doesnt care if you have PC problems. O'well is her response. I can't believe her grading, the writing assignments, extra credit and discussion boards? She Crazy! needs to loosen her wig!
ridiculous. dont even attempt. freaking out of control
I think the class is difficult. But remember we are college students. I think her expectations of students are realistic. Take your time on the quizes. Good luck on the tests. She requires an understanding of the chapters, not just names and dates.
This is your assignment: Go out there and be the worst teacher you can imagine. You would be Susan Haber. Do you know the qualities of a model teacher as rated on this website? She is the Anti-Model! If the Board of Trustees really cared, this diseducator would be gone. Unless you're a masochist, Do Not Ever Even Consider Taking Any Of Her Classes!
This professor is not unrealistic and it has been my experience that the workload is manageable.
HORRIBLE. So long 4.0. I am an A student, studied for three days/10 hours for a mid term, to get a flipin C. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! She makes errors on the test and doesnt correct them for you. If you or her make an online error, forget it, its a lost cause. Hardest class I ever took. Deadlines are all over the week.
I took her online class, to strict and not helpful, diva attitude, even though you don't get to see her. Her criticisms are not positive, and teaches with the attitude of "I know everything and your are dumb"
She is a difficult teacher in the sense that she expects the assignments given to be completed on time. She was very clear about what was expected. To do well in her class you actually have to learn something.
HATE THIS CLASS IT SUCKS ! ! ! she is no help and she is so old she should retired.
she is the worste teacher i have ever had. She talks like the scary kid in the Grudge. Her class is way to hard and she never will let you out early. Shes unclear on what she throws on the test. Run for your life.
Susan Haber is a great teacher. The point of studying is to learn something and not to sleep, so hard tests are great. I was in the States for half a year and American History and English were hard to me, however I made an A, so it cant be that hard.. Nevertheless I think she should focus more on theory of history coz thats where the big picture is
Took her online class, it was a breeze. I thought it would be a lot harder considering only 6 week class. Text is elementry, works out to 40pgs assigned per week. Just an overview, doesn't get very deep. I learned more in jr. high but this will get my gen ed requirement fulfilled
She is hard but clear about what she requires.
This online class is time demanding. Lots of deadlines. She's generous w/ X.C. do them all!!! Quizzes open book (not timed), Exams open book (timed) and a little difficult. She's a stickler for deadlines so do not procrastinate, esp if you're prone to computer glitches/errors.
I was very interested in the material and worked very hard in the class. However, her tests in my opinion could have been written better and could have focused on significant facts/events rather than small details. I think that the tests should be based on the overall material and student understanding of the era.
This was an easy class. All you have to do is do the group work and study for the quizzes and tests. This teacher only gives three quizzes, a midterm, and the final for the semester. She also gives lots of extra credit.
Haber is in love with history and she will tel you that all the time. The material itself is really easy, she gives out worksheets and note outlines all the time. She doesn't like it when people talk in her class and her power points are boring. If you can get over her sheep-like voice and history obsession, this is a good class.
I have now taken Mrs. Haber's history 108 and 109 both online. I recieved a "B" in both. You need to read. People seem to not understand this! Just read the text, its not hard. If your lazy and can't do that then don't go to college. Almost everything is open book. If you don't pass the class with a decent grade it is simply your own fault.
ahhh... class too hard...
She describes herself as challenging, but in reality she is not. If you are up to reading 20 pages per week, this is an easy A. This online class does not require much effort. Just post in the discussion board before the deadline, and take the quizzes and tests. There are tons of extra credit assignments, so you can make up missed work.
Her online class is a joke and her quizzes are the dumbest most pointless thing I have ever done in college! Don't take her!!
I found her online class to have extremely rigid requirements, her website is cumbersome and hard to navigate, her assignment directions are written poorly (redundant, poor grammar and she contradicts her own requirements). She is negative in her email replies and postings. I think she is passionate about the subject but turns her students off.
Online class, so right away BORING! No personal lecture notes just chapter reading and vocabulary. The quizzes at times required photographic memory of what you read, and jumped ahead to as yet unassigned reading or looked back at previous chapter
The class isn't that hard if you take notes and pay attention, but I thought it was really quite boring. At times, it felt like I was back in high school when we had to get in groups for assignments. She knows a lot about history and is great that way, but the delivery I find to be a tad boring.
She is a very good teacher. I took her online class. Stay up on the homework and the tests are open book but hard and timed. Study and keep up on the work.
Don't need the newest version of the text even though she says you do. The grading is pretty straight forward/upfront except the discussion.Posts are not graded on a weekly basis, but are instead graded at the end of the semester (B.S.!!).Seemed very picky about the discussion. If posts disagree with or go beyond the text your grade will take a hit.
tests and quizzes are eay if you use the book. My class was online and required us to post a 150 word discussion board post and reply to a classmates which had to be 50 words long. very picky over when grading posts. i posted 2 main threads and replied to 3 and stll only recieved 44/50 because i needed more citation. dont take her if u dont have to
I had her for Early Womens History. She is nice, but does have a busy schedule for the class. Few little movies. A lot of packets where you read from the text book (it's a very small book), and some of the packet work you turn in for a grade. One extra credit assignment. Passes around a sign-in sheet during each class.
This class was hard, and I didn't have the best experience with this teacher. Her online tests and quizzes are really hard. Don't recommend her.
Omg! Moody moody moody. We read a whole text book in one sem. To much work!
Very close minded and unyielding, difficult person.
This ONLINE class is really easy if you do the work on time and study before the simple tests and quizzes. BUT!!!! I haaaaate this class right now. She gives good feedback on the grades page in blackboard but she comes off really rude and talks down to you. I could be crazy but idk
Really hard and inconsistent grader. Gives feedback, but not constructive and often comes off as condescending. A LOT of reading of the textbook. I found the topic interesting but she made the class frustrating and unenjoyable. I would take someone else given the choice.
Very strict when grading everything. Frequently says to edit for grammar, when she should be editing for grammar in her downloadable homework instructions. Not very friendly and this was the online class. o.O?
Professor Haber's class is very easy I got over 100% in both of her online classes, the only thing is you do ALOT of reading and you must keep up or else you will fall behind other than that you get 2 shots for quizes and an hour to do the quiz and 1 shot for the test and only 45 mins.
I took this class online and got an A, but she marks you down A LOT for grammar (even though my spell check found nothing wrong)Also, there is a lot of reading. you only get 45 minutes for the test which isn't enough. Just make sure you take every extra credit opportunity and you can still earn an A.
OMG Actually this is the worst teacher I have ever seen. I have passed all my courses with A's and I have a 4.0 GPA but this teacher forced me to take the course as pass no pass course because I know she is not going to give me an A NOT helpful not at all. she keeps mentioning the grammar mistakes. now I hate history. never take her
OMG she is not helpful at all asks for too much work without giving guide line. she keeps mentioning the grammar mistakes in her comments however she never tells you what are they exactly. please take it with someone else
This Professor is extremely difficult to wok with, very critical i.e grammar and punctuation, and will offer no extra help even if you seek it out. History is my major and I love it, but her assignments are boring and created with the grade in mind, only. You can tell she is not passionate about teaching. Definitely not enough time for the tests!
Not helpful at all.Focuses more on how you write such as skipping a line or margin error and more on her way of doing thing rather than ensuring her students are learning the material. Being an English major, this is the first time I've been graded so harshly on my writing. This speaks volumes. Don't make life harder just for a Gen. Ed. class.
She has clear expectations. She gives you good grades if you adhere closely to her grading policy Doing all the work to the best of your abilities is a must She is an authentic person who wants you to succede, but you must work for it. Definitely don't take her class if you can't follow directions down to the detail and if you lack work ethic.
This is the worst instructor ever! I already hate history and i took it online because i dont want to sit in a boring history class. Shes the worst! Shes not willing to help her students at all even on thanksgiving break she still posted homework like every week! Shes a very tough grader and very annoying! I dont recommend her!
Shes very rude and she made me hate history! Dont waste your time with her, shes the worst person to talk to. Youll regret taking her class!
very good
Took her online class through BB and it looked like she hadn't updated it since the internet came out. It was very cluttered and had a ton of links. I took it over the summer and put in minimal work. Probably has been using the tests and quizzes for ever, so remember that google is your friend.
She is SO SO SO strict at grading. She has chapter comments that she provides for us but it is no help at all. Takes points off of really stupid things and expects way too much from us. Deducts points for grammar!!!! This is not an English class, if we show that we understand the subject and if what we're saying is clear then that should be enouph.
Mrs. Haber is a decent teacher, I wouldn't say passing the class is difficult, but I would say is boring. You have to do a lot of reading for her class, you'll finish the book by the end of the semester, tests are multiple choice and you have to do 3 or 4 grading responses. Easy A if you are willing to put in the work.
I really wish I checked on her before enrolling in her online course! Super difficult instructor, expects all the focus in you're life at the time of enrollment should be in her couse. Strict to say the least, and high expectations..
She is always on time and clearly states her instructions. She is pretty reasonable with grading and gives plenty of extra credit throughout the semester. The people who are saying that it's too much reading probably haven't taken a regular college course before. This is college so yes, you do actually have to try if you want to do anything well.
She is very quick to answer questions and is very involved in discussions. It's a very straightforward class with a consistent workload that isn't unreasonable, just a discussion and a quiz every week with the occasional written response and map test. A lot of resources are provided to help learn material and extra credit is given often.
She gives pretty straight forward directions and lots of extra credit opportunities throughout the class. If you even post your discussion early, you'll get extra points. Responds quickly to questions, sometimes within minutes and gives good feedback on assignments. Very involved in the class and wants students to do well. very good teacher.
She always answers questions quickly and gives feedback on every assignment. Sometimes shell give a discussion asking about how you feel in the class and shes always looking to improve the experience.
Professor Haber is very nice and helpful in her online class and she makes it very easy to understand what she wants. There's a weekly discussion and quiz and the occasional written response but she gives a lot of resources and is always willing to answer questions as soon as she can.
Professor Haber is amazing! She gives good feedback and requires your discussions/ written responses to be thorough. There's a quiz/discussion due every Sunday. If you need help, she will help, just ask! If you do the work, you'll pass with an easy A. She's really nice as well. Take her!
I took her online class, expect to participate in a discussion post every week along with a quiz (15 questions each). You must read one chapter every week, and she's very generous with extra credit opportunities. Wonderful class, she obviously cares about the curriculum and the students!
I took an online course in the spring of 2021. LOVED professor Haber, the material is interesting, coursework really makes you think, I learned so much in this class. Definitely take her! There is a fair amount of work as expected but it is manageable
Really easy class. As long as you try it's almost an automatic A. She was super nice and always gave great feedback on how to improve or she would compliment your work. She always made an effort to talk to students even over a 100% online course. Kind of a lot of work but none of it was too difficult.
