Ms. Lynch is a great teacher! She is strict but in a good kinda way. DO NOT BE LATE!
Comes off as pretty tough, but is a very fair grader. The multiple choice test she wrote for our class was very unclear, though. Anyone who tries will do well.
great teacher, and very helpful when it comes to writing. I recommend her very much!
She is the worest teacher I ever had. It seemed to me that she was bias in her grading. As long as you did your papers on the subjects she liked you got a good grade but if not then you got bad grades. I was a B student in Eng and when I got to her class I became a D student. Now I am back to my B's
i had her 2 times the first time she failed me on a paper that was well writen then i dropped her class and tryied an online class and she happend to be the teacher and she saw who i was and said the the paper i sent in never got to her. I wouldn't wish this teacher on anyone. If you have her i fee
Her class isn't thay great. She can't even spell correctly and when she reads something, she doesn't say all the words. Her class is hard and she is too critical. I would not recommend anyone take her class at all! It is a waste of time and money if you do!
She expects the student to write like a professional. She teaches things such as fallacies in freshman english. Fallacies aren't the problem, it's the fact she expects you to remember all of them in less than a week and understand them completely. I do not recommend her for a teacher.
Horrible class she gives you no leeway, and is exceptionally harsh on her grading. Covers the material once, then tests on it. Expects you to have the syllabus memorized, and there is no disagreeing with her. Her handwriting is atrocious, but she laughs at it to, which is at least one upside :)
Class was okay. She was okay. However, her policy on absents were outragous. Every class started with "You need to watch your absents, you don't want to put yourself in a position at the end of the semester that you will regret." I felt like we were in highschool again.
very unclear about any of the topics she discusses.... only 2nd she has tought ENG 1... she is a research and study major.....
I really like this teacher but i do think that she expected a lot out of us that we were not educated enough to deliver. She was always there to help. A HUGE problem i had with her was that there was a girl in our class who OBVIOUSLY cheated and was not kicked out, a real let down for the rest of us
Stay Away!First off, she'll scribble words on the board and then laugh when you asks what she wrote. Her argument is that it waste time if she has to write legibly. This is not a joke!I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.She acts like you should already now everything she's teaching. She's very biased on papers and takes weeks to grade them. Horrible!!!
I started with her and dropped after two weeks.Reading anything the woman writes is a challenge. Her syllabus and handouts are full of misspelled words and choppy. It is amazing that this woman teaches in the english department which is otherwise great.this woman has a job base on affirmitive and we all are paying the price(342.67 to be exact)
I think Professor Lynch is a really good instructor. I learned a lot from her class and really enjoyed it. Thanks
Professor Lynch is one of the worst teacher I have ever had!!!! Harsh grader and difficult to understand assignment. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!
The kid next to me got a higher grade on an UNFINISHED paper whereas I had virtually no mark-ups on mine, but still got a C. When I ask her for explanations, she looked puzzled. Beware of assignments involving reviewing her work. She WILL hold a grudge.
You can obviously see by the comments below why Ms. Lynch is hard for some. People, you need to be able to read and write BEFORE you get to college. She is an excellent teacher who tries to bring you out of the mindset of a high schooler!

I've read many complaints about Suzanne's inability to write legibly, but what she says most often is more important that what she writes. She provides clarity as well as she can and tries (key word) to remove her bias from review of a piece or one's own paper. Her class isn't easy for those who put in little effort. She's an excellent instructor
I took this course online and loved it. She gave you all the necessary tools to succeed in her class. She warned us it would be hard and we would have to work at it. My only complaint is that she had us read mostly African American literature. I think the class could have included more literature even though I enjoyed what we read.
she sucks, she speaks as if she was using a foriegn tongue. She is also a hypocrit when it comes to writing papers as it pertains to vocabulary.
I thought Ms. Lynch was wonderful and provided thought provoking elements into the class room. It seems that the rest of the comments for her are from people who do not take responsibility for their own actions. The grade you get is the grade YOU deserve. Don't worry about the other people around you. You're IN college now ... not high school!!!
Like it was stated below she is a college teacher and expects to teach college students who can do college work. If you can't do this then don't take her class. Excellent teacher
I had her for IDS. She is okay. Sometimes she would make a comment about a film that you had to decipher before you could even respond. And as for her spelling, she is Jamacian so she prolly spells stuff the british way. I know I sometimes forget and do that too.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. She is absolutely awful. She is a disgrace to the English profession. She does not articulate her words and she can’t spell. AWFUL…
She is a very strick professor and her grading is real tough too! She will give you a 'C' on a paper and not put any comments on it as to why you received that grade. Make sure that you are never late to her class and be prepared to do a lot of online discussions even if you don't sign up for an online course!
Abolutelly excellent teacher, works great with students who are willing to give an effort, she grades very fairly and is very helpful, informative and wonderful to have as a professor. As far as the horrible comment made that she was a racially bias feminist, that is completely inacurate. E.P.
I had always been an A student when it came to english, however Ms. Lynch's class SERIOUSLY fogged my ablities to write. She was very critical of my first paper, then gave me 0 on my second. I am not saying she is a horrible teacher, but she maintains high expectations. I would not recommend taking her class if you work or have more than 2 classes.
I spenmt literally no more than 10 minutes on this class and got an A. you decide from there. I only go to school for the grade, so I am not going to comment on the other aspects.
Terrible. She gave us exams with grammer mistakes and incorrect answers. It was an online course, so obsiously was a bit harder, but 90% of the class learned nothing. She expected us to already know what she was teaching. Plus, every story selection dealt had the same theme and dealt with the same issue, rascism.
Horrible class. Every single piece of literature you read will be about racism and feminism. In your research papers you are expected to "make the implicit explicit," BS-ing pages and pages while tying in existing literary criticisms. Luckily, her tests are extremely easy-if you can get past the numerous grammatical errors and vague answer choices.
She is a terrible teacher she doesn't know what she is talking about half the time. She contradicts herself and her due dates. She is too busy being a student herself to help out on your paper. By the time your done getting her help with your paper, you don't know what your paper is about anymore. She sucks!!!!!!
This class was very interesting! She provides a lot to think about. It was a little difficult for most of the students since the class was at 8am. I didn't have a problem. Some of the films we viewed for this class were not that great. Biggest problem I had were the biggoted students that took the class.
She's dyslexic for crying out loud! She calls on you to answer a question when you're not really paying attention (What is this? High school?). Her tests don't make any sense and she makes sooo many typos it's not even funny. I almost failed this class (mind you, I had high expectations). I wish I read this site before I took the class. Disaster!
She was an awesome and very thorough professor.Anyone can clearly see that she has a passion for teaching. I would recommend her class to anyone who is interested in learning about African American Literature.
This professor made the class quite enjoyable. I actually left the class with knowledge I can retain for the future. I learned a lot and she's such a learned and passionate teacher, and it's wonderful to have someone like that teach you something. She knows her stuff! I would highly recommend her for African American literature.
awesome instructor, awesome course, awesome experience!
The instructor works well with students, she's fair in grading, fair with the exams and is very easy to approach and talk to. I honestly enjoyed this class. I'm the type that just goes to class for the grade, but this class was quite enjoyable.
She is very unclear with her teaching style. I dread going to class
Would not reccommend
This teacher is the reason students drop out of college. I took her online course and she was very rude, unclear, and not helpful with anything!! She very rarley replied to my emails/phone calls. Definately would not recommend.
"She Abhors busy work." BS that all the online class was. If you like reading about every tree hugging femanist in the early 1900s then this is the class for you. Was a model of rudeness in the required postings and takes it real personal if you question her. As someone stated above is the reason people drop out of college. Do Not Take this class!
If you can help it, don't take her class!!! She can't write properly on the board. She can't spell properly. I'm not quite sure how she got her teaching job. Her course work is either difficult or confusing, sometimes both! If you still decide to take her class, GOOD LUCK! Her grading is weird. I took her class before I knew about this site.
She was horrible and unhelpful. She decided from the first day if she liked you or not. You knew what her choice was by the third week. Do not take her class!!!
Class was very tough. I had to drop it because she is extremely demanding. Her expectations of her students is very high and she expects no less than a student giving 150%. The upside is that she is willing to help her students if needed, but definetly would not recommend her.
I would not recommend this class!!!It was very difficult and i had to drop before my grade did.The class was very time consuming and the professor is very demanding. The assignments were'nt confusing and she was of little help.
Well as a female, the feminist thinking didn't pop out at me. I definately noticed the tree hugger in her. It wasn't until my brother took the class and mentioned all of the below that I really noticed it's all true. However, it was easy for me, didn't enjoy it but it was overall very easy.
Everyday of class was torture. She is not willing to stay after class to help, she doesn't want her students to e-mail her over the weekend bc she's busy writing a book!If she's not willing to make herself available to students, then she should choose another career. Clearly, she is not the best at this one! She's bad at teaching. Avoid the stress!
I got back a paper with negative feedback and a D grade when it really deserved a C or higher. English is one of my best subjects, but I'm now thinking of withdrawing because of this teacher. I found out about this site too late to switch to another teacher because most of the spots were filled by then. Don't take this teacher's classes.
If you can help it, do not take her online class. She was VERY high epectations, her assignments are like "OMG WTF?" and has very tough grading. Unless you can dedicate 200% to her class, do not take english with her. She even told me not to finish out the semester becuase I was going to fail.
Web ct class, first day is mandatory. The work is tuff, but she is there for you. The first day she comes off hard , but shes actually not. As class goes on and she sees your dedication, you get the softer side. She is however very critical on your writings, but her critic will help you.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. She grades unfairly and also a stickler with tardiness and/or absences. Half of the class withdrew before the semester.
Ms. Lynch was by far the worst English teacher I have ever had. DO NOT take her online class if you can help it! She was overcritical even in our discussions. She is available for help, if you can understand her cryptic answers, and her handouts were less than helpful. This is a freshman level class, and she needs to understand that.
definitely came off hard from the beginning, but did make it very clear that we would have to work hard. Entering the college world for the 1st time at 37, I admit to being scared to death. She IS tough (but so is life!), but has a passion for what she does. If you work hard, it is definitely recognized.Enjoyed the class & got alot out of it.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS; save your money
Extremely tough. Do not expect to slide through this. Picky in writing would be lenient. You have to change your perspective/writing if you expect to get a good grade or you will just fail out.
She is a really good teacher, she is helpful and gives you plenty of chances to get a better grade.
If you are up for a big challenge feel free to take her course. A 73% on a test put me in the 88th percentile of the class. Forget about writing... the first paper 2 ppl recieved a B. Your writing may be superb, but you better be able to adapt to her writing standards in order to recieve a decent grade.
For a beginning freshman she is a pretty good teacher to have. She is usual friendly and very direct. To the point. I didnt have much trouble bc my views are abstract and advanced as she says. So if you're looking for a chance to stretch yourself Jump Right in.
I have always earned A's in English since middle and high school, including in 1101. I took her online class and got a C. She was very critical in discussions as well as my papers. I looked online where you register for classes, and saw most of her classes were filled. I feel sorry for those who will be taking her next semester.
She's okay, though I would never willingly take a class with her again. She's not willing to work with her students.
Ms. Lynch is a typical college professor. She is not easy, she does not baby you, and she does not cut very many breaks but she is an awesome teacher. English has always been my weak subject and I got an A in her class, but I WORKED for it. If you don't have the time to devote serious thought and effort to her assignments then go w/another teacher
If you take this class,be prepared to do some difficult class assignments. The online tests aren't that difficult, the essays on the other hard are completely time consuming and even if you do well, there will always be something to comment about. Overall she's a good professor, but I won't willingly take her. Good Luck!
This was a great class to attend. She not only explained the material but covered it in depth to where I was thrilled to participate. She is a wonderful teacher and I would love to take any class she is teaching.
I took her online class last semester and it was torture. I earned A's in English through most of high school and in 1101, but I earned D's on all her papers that she heavily criticized. I did OK on the tests and squeaked by with a C. Ironically, I changed my major a few months ago to one in which I didn't need this class.
If you dont try you will fail her course. She is a no nonsence professor, she is passionate about her subject. I busted my butt and ended up with a "B". So try really hard and you may do well.
English is my best subject but this class was a struggle from day one. She would forget to post assignments then not change the due date. The literary choices we read were all very dark and depressing. Her focus was on completing her thesis for her Master's and not on teaching. I withdrew to maintain my GPA
She doesn't really know how to teach well. We used MY COMP LAB for her class and she didnt even know how to use it herself. If you go to her for help she will tell you exactly what she wants to see in your paper, but she wont spend alot of time with you. I really dont recommend her
GREAT PROF! Gets a bad rap. She is easy as long as ur not the idiot that shows up late 2x a month when class is 2x a week. Papers were easy she even gave example papers. Very interesting. Wide range of topics. NOT A HARSH GRADER!
she is really hard. i spent entire my term's time for her class and hard essays. finally i got a B. if you dont have that much time to spent for english dont take har cuz you will fail for sure.
Prof. Lynch is constantly unclear about deadlines and assignments. She is condescending and flat out rude. Also, instead of teaching an English class, it seems she focuses on critical thinking. Horrible teacher!
DO NOT TAKE DR. LYNCH'S CLASSES! Unclear with deadlines and assignments. Talks down to students. Claims ?I never make grammatical errors? yet constantly does so. Basically told us we were not smart enough to analyze Ernest Hemingway. Does not answer questions in timely manner. Does not grade in a timely manner. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!
Just bad. Never responds to emails, feedback on discussions or class questions. Never clear on deadlines, says she wants to help but doesn't even if you post on time. Marked one of my papers down to an 80 for a few grammar mistakes. Should not be teaching online courses, or even at all. Don't take her class. I can't wait till teacher evaluations.
test every week...4 questions..if you read you will pass..mid-term and final very easy..one 1500 word paper at the end
Plain out rude from day one!
This woman is not only an illiterate moron, but her "assignments" are so unbelievably pointless, worthless and stupid, I can't imagine how she is not let go from her position.
Although I received an A, her mid-term and finals were ridiculous. Somehow content that was not discussed or taught appeared on the main two exams. Quizzes are easy. Grading is reasonable. Top score on the final was a 67% (mine). Good luck.
She is not clear on her assignments. She is very insulting on your writing that you spend a lot of time on. Do not take her if you want to pass and not be frustrated.
It is pretty impossible to pass her class. Every paper that I wrote was immediately shot down and insulted. I would not recommend her to anyone!
This professor has unreasonable expectations of the students. The kiss of death for any student trying to do well in the course.
This is one of the worst instructors I have ever experienced. I already have a BA degree and sat in on her class. As a teacher myself I do not reccomend that you take her.
RUN AWAY! I have a 4.0GPA and love English, but Dr. Lynch is mean, lazy, abusive, and unfair. She approved my thesis, then gave me a D- on my paper because she didn't like my thesis. It's obvious she didn't do more than skim my paper. It's halfway through the semester and this is the FIRST grade because she's TOO BUSY. ABSOLUTELY WORST TEACHER EVER!!
DO NOT TAKE HER! This is a freshman english class and I seriously think she thinks she is teaching graduate level journalism. Absolutely ridiculous grading. It's almost as if she doesn't agree with or like your topic you get deductions. Not sure what her deal is but suggest you find another instructor!
She is terrible! She is not helpful at all! And grades extremely harsh. My class went from around 25 people to 2. I had to drop FRESHMAN english which was suppose to be EASY in order to not fail. And if your stuck with her make sure it's not online. She's has too many unrealitic expectations for online students
I am going to be honest... Dr. Lynch is a tough prof. She seems knowledgeable, but sometimes doesn't seem to want to help. Yet other times very helpful. I had a diffuclt time in her class, esp since I am a dual enrolled student who has never had high school english. If you want a challenge this is the one for you, otherwise I DO NOT recommend her.
I took her online course, I am so bummed I didn't withdraw, now I'm stuck with a bad grade.. She is way too critical in grading, and I've been told I'm a decent writer. She isnt very helpful when you need it. Save yourself heavy mental anguish and stress and avoid her class.
FIRE HER AND WHOEVER HIRED THIS LADY NEEDS TO BE FIRED TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great instructor. She's not an easy teacher but she's fair. You have to be willing to work hard and do as she asks. Responds to questions and provides good feedback. She expects that you have a knowledge of English and grammar prior to entering college. She is very thorough and clear in her instructions. I've gotten 2 As and I will take her again!
RUN...!
She is vindictive and unorganized. To ask questions (though they are invited) are seen as a challenge. She is inconsistent and I wish I had never taken this class. I have not learned anything because she is lazy.
She is an unfair grader and doesn't do a good job of explaining the assignments. I sent all my papers through smartthinking before I turned them in and still got a D on all of them. I email her for help and never get an answer. From what I have read she is a better class instructer than an online instructer. I wish I would have choose the classroom
great at lit. discussions but not so great prof. which is unfortunate cause she's strait forward and funny sometimes. harsh grader and has very high expectations. her class is consuming and will challenge even the "overachiever" out there. good luck, with her you'll need it!
She is very unfair with her grading. Her assignments are extremely unspecific and unclear. The way she asks to complete assignments make no sense, because of her word choice. When she responds to a paper she will make you look stupid and have no concideration of how much effort was taken into it.
She is very unspecific! She does not make sence as to what she wants in an assignment. You can try your absolute best and a get D! She is rude and will embarass you in front of the class or on the board. Not a good teacher at all. Do not take her class!
i know some people say shes not that great but I think she is a good teacher and wants to see her students succeed. She has helped me a couple times and she is fair, she just wants you to do the work.
Prof. Lynch has very high standards, so if you expect an easy A you will be sorely disappointed. Her assignments took up more of my time than my other 3 classes combined, so be prepared to put in work if you want a good grade. She is not an unfair grader, she's just demanding and will call it as she sees it. If you are lazy, don't take her.
Professor Lynch has very high standards,so if you want an easy A you will be sorely disappointed. Her assignments took up more of my time than my other 3 classes combined, so be prepared to put in work if you want a good grade. She is not an unfair grader, she is just demanding and calls it as she sees it.If you are lazy, don't take her.You will fail.
Lynch is a professor that knows what she likes, and if you're not within that small window. You're unlikely to pass with ease. She's very opinionated, and if you don't share the opinion, you're down the drain before you get to class. I highly recommend reconsidering if you want to take her.
Did not like Dr. Lynch. She talks down to her students and will call you out in front of class. I dropped her class within the drop period, because I knew that her and I were going to clash. Rethink taking her class unless you like feeling everthing you do or say is wrong!
i had Dr.lynch this semester and i don't understand why people are so negative in rating her i think she is an excellent professor that pushes you because she cares
She talks down to students and does purposely call you out in class. please count how many times she says "UHM." Very strict about bringing technology to class.
I do not suggest her. She always reads aloud with mistakes and her documents and quizzes and anything she sends out are full of grammar mistakes and typos. It is very difficult to read and understand her directions. She also calls students out in front of everyone which is rude and unprofessional.
I Made a B in her class. Yes she did grade hard but if u attend the writting center and complete all the work there should be no problem passing her class.
This is not an instructor, she is a proctor at best. She does not respond to emails regarding course assignments, so you are on your own while attempting to figure out what the assignments are asking for. She is an English proctor who can not even use correct grammar or spelling in her posts. Its truly amazing that she has a college level position.
Dr Lynch will let you know day one that she is strict. If you are lazy you wont pass. I knew I had to buckle down the day she walked in. Im actually glad I took her b/c she made me push myself and realize college is no joke.
Not a good teacher at all. She is not specific about her work. Very Lazy with grading and giving good information. I wish I could have picked a different teacher. She has a lot of grammatical errors when she writes. I Do not Recommend this teacher. Professor Brock/Ybor Campus is a excellent Reading/English teacher.
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR ANYTHING. She is unorganized, self important, and rude. The IDS class is easy though. There is an in class paper, 5 online reading quizes, and attendence. Miss one class and you fail. She is not helpful and unclear. Also, she is an english teacher who makes constant gramatical errors, which I think is inexcusable.
I'm not sure why she's getting so many bad reviews. She's very upfront with what she expects the first day. If you visit her in her office for help she's more than willing to do so. I loved her class discussions but make sure you participate because she will call you out if you never raise your hand. Great teacher.
I am extremely disappointed in signing up for her class. What I found distasteful, is that she makes a tremendous amount of grammatical and spelling errors. She is too critical and loves to call you out on your mistakes, but doesn't practice what she preaches. I think she needs to retake English.
This lady does not make her subject fun, she is very rude and does not think of her comments before she writes you back. Very rude and I regret taking her course.
She is straight forward, and lets you know if you are lazy you wont pass. She is very happy to help when you ask or go into her office. I started not doing so well, but the class ended great. I did well on my last two papers because she helped me to understand what she was looking for; a great paper for the reader! Class its great for hard workers!
Shes very disrespectful! She wants you to email and talk to her a certain way, but doesnt return the same manner. Gives you very unclear instructions and punishes you for her mistakes. DONT Take HER CLASS
Readanalyze a few short stories and two short novels. Write three papers (one of which is 8 pages). Midterm and final are mostly over grammar and punctuation. Put in the effort, get an A.
Professor Lynch, Was one of my favorite Professors. I have to say she actually made our class laugh. I love the group discussions. English class has always been my favorite class. This professor lets you make up work, if you had some thing in your life going on. She's very understandable. She's kind of blunt honest.
Do not take her online course. She gives no grace and expects you to be perfect when she can't proof read her own posts. She is harsh with feedback but demands a certain respect that she does not return. Her critiscism is not constructive and is often very mean.
There is nothing positive to say about professor lynch. Her grading is skewed and she will help the students that she like. She gives plenty of instructions but they are almost impossible to achieve. Get ready for a slew of feminist rants, lectures and poems. If you do not write about a topic that she likes, she will gladly fail you.
Great teacher, but she expect a lot for it to just be a semester, I felt like I was majoring in English. If you want to pass, make sure you speak up and get ready to write 7 page papers. She was an interesting teacher, she taught me a lot however
very rude and harsh, my grandfather passed and I had asked if I could turn in an assignment a day late because I was out of town. she ignored my message and put a 0 in the grade book not 30 minutes after my message. so im grieving because of the loss of my pop pop and because now am going to fail this class because of that 0.
half the semester all we have done is read text and watch movies that exemplifies her biased views. then gives us a midterm with questions so opinionated that if we don't answer her misspelled questions using her ideology we'd be wrong. fortunately the class doesn't share her views and we ALL failed. do not take this professor
This class was a waste of money. she refuses to help students and if you ask for help she will just call you a retard and say your just to lazy to try and refuses to help. if you write a paper and she does not like the subject matter she will give you a zero and refuse to read it. she will also change a her four page papers topic an hour before due
Professor Lynch is honestly the worst professor I have ever had. If you can take another English teacher I HIGHLY advise you to steer clear of this class. I took her online 6 week class and it was so terrible. She doesn't grade fairly and doesn't even tell you what you did wrong to get the grade that you received.
Dr. Lynch was clear in her expectations in the first module blog post. Turn in assignments early in the week and she will provide feedback and you can edit your assignment before it's due. Tough grader, but do what she asks and you will be fine. Unclear directions-Her lecture would say one thing but she didn't update her written guidelines.
Professor Lynch was probably the worst professor I've ever had. She constantly talks down on her students to make them feel inferior and stupid. When grading papers she makes unnecessary comments and is the most harsh grader I've ever seen. If she doesnt like you as a student she will fail you without thinking twice about it. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
She is not someone who would pass you if you don't do any work, but very helpful, loves teaching and you learn a lot with her.
She is a very confusing teacher. One day she says the paper is due a day and the next she changes it. If your first language isn't English I STRONGLY recommend you DO NOT take this class. She would give me the same grade no matter how many times I worked on the paper.
Professor Lynch is the worst professor I've ever had. I took her online enc 1101 course and her lessons to her grading are horrible. She had to post a quiz twice because students kept failing as we didn't understand the material. I was personally even counted against for turning a paper in early! Please do yourself a favor and steer clear.
Ms. Lynch's degree was race and gender studies so the class is based around that. The only thing i learned was how to cite sources correctly but that's it. The texts that you have to read are about either race, gender or inequality. If you like that kind lectures is a good class and you will have lots of fun. But if not "Get Out."
She decided to do her owe thing this semester and nothing I did was correct. I dropped the class within the first week due to getting 0s on 3 assignments/quizzes.
This class may or may not be a fit for you, and she is very clear about this in the beginning. Attendance is a grade! She is a tough grader but always returns papers with detailed comments on what exactly you could improve on. She has her doctorate in race studies so she focuses the whole class around that. Prepare for a 10 page research paper!
She contradicted herself on the final exam. Things that she supposedly taught us in class was wrong on the exam and was the answers she said was wrong.
I really enjoyed taking this class! Prof. Lynch was very informative, very passionate, and very welcome to discussion of every subject we hit upon. Her grading and critique could use some work and if you don't participate, don't expect much. If you ARE interested in learning, she is open to engaging anything to do with race, gender, and more.
Dont do it...
"Doctor"Lynch is the worst professor I've ever had. At the beginning of the semester she uploaded the wrong syllabus and never changed it. She verbally assigns homework, but doesn't post it until the night before its due. On quizzes and exams she adds material that we didn't cover. If you don't add to the class discussions she marks you absent.
Good person, but very unorganized in the fact that she firsts assigns an essay for a certain day and then on that same day when you are ready to turn it in, she says that the due date is another. She likes everyone to participate. Again, a good person and very passionate about what she teaches, but her teaching style just doesn't suit me.
The teacher is terrible. She wants absolute perfection but has typos all over her writing. Anything less than perfect will drop you several grades. Seems to enjoy failing students instead of helping them. Uses personal opinions rather than linguistic rules to grade papers (ex. writing was juvenile). Don't take her class.
This class is not too difficult, but make sure to try and get 100s on the quizzes or else itll hurt your grade. She is tough on grading essays and doesnt give good feedback so make sure she reads your thesis before writing the whole essay. The mid-term and final are on nothing that was taught and just confusing. Assignments are easy though.
Yes, the class could be challenging, but if you're really interested in learning how to write and understand different styles of literature then you're in the right class. She is actually going to teach you something and yes, she reads your papers and gives you constructive criticism. I wanted to learn, I guess most of you did not!
I took this as an online course and if you listen to the lectures and examples she gives you will be fine. There are many papers due throughout the course so get ready to write. She gives good feedback as to what you did wrong, but doesn't drop the grade dramatically. Final and Quiz's were tough.
She for sure challenges you to write to your potential. She is a fast TOUGH grader. She is not organized with her deadlines and isn't clear with instructions and is rude when you ask for clarification, but she is easy to get ahold of. Her quizzes are worded tricky almost to make you fail so she had to stop doing them cause no one was passing them.
Terrible teacher.
Dr. Lynchs quizzes were confusing and tricky... make sure you fully understand the material. Essays were the easiest and basically helped me pass. Exams were extremely difficult as well. Easy to get in contact with her, even though she never fully answers youre questions. Wouldnt recommend but if you have to take her you can pass with a B or C.
Worst professor ive ever had, absolutely would not take for any other courses. Pretentious, condescending, and gives no insight on any of the subjects she addresses.
This is one professor that I feel did not help me grow in my writing skills. Prof. Lynch's lectures were short and not very helpful. I feel I did not learn much from class. Prof. Lynch would tell student they can ask for help but, was extremely rude and condescending in emails. What she wanted from an essay was not always clear either!
This teacher is one of the toughest graders out there. Tries to critique you and doesnt help you. Do not take this class. I went to tutoring for days to get guidance in an essay and still got a poor grade.
This teacher is the worst ever honestly. Her directions are never clear, super condecending and rude. She insults you, and is constantly misspelling on her directions despite the fact that she will criticize your grammar. Test are always trick questions. She got in trouble by the dean for cursing on a powerpoint video. Had a 79 and refused to round
"Accessible outside of class", "participation matters", "amazing lectures", "caring", "tough grader" I thoroughly enjoyed my brief class with Prof. Lynch. She was great and I would take her again! She is tough, but understanding. I didn't take a difficult class, but it was challenging to find a new way to interpret themes that were NOT new to me.
Do not do it. In the assignments tab it may say due September 6th at 1pm but on the actual assignment it may say due September 1st at 9am but then in the announcement it might say due September 16th! Useless Ill tell you. The work is easy but its so hard to figure out when, where and how to turn things in ! Terrible teacher. 0/10
For an English professor, her instructions are very unclear, lengthy, and filled with typos and grammatical errors. Demanding respect but does not return it to her students by giving rude responses when asked for help. Her critiques are not very helpful and are mostly opinionated. Had very bad impressions of her on my first week. AVOID THIS CLASS.
The class was online and it was horrible! she gives you a long document of class material and when you take a quiz you will have to fetch the information by yourself. The final paper module instructions are completely misleading, you will find out that she wrote different instructions on the home page without any announcement, just don't take her.
Rude attitude, very sarcastic, and makes A student feel overall stupid when she makes mistakes of her own actions. She stresses a lot about following directions for assignments but doesnt make it clear when people dont understand what to do. She instead throws a attitude whenever you ask for help. She tends to do lots of group work and discussion
This was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. However, Dr. Lynch helped me to bring my writing to another level. She challenged us to think critically and gave us certain writing assignments to build on the areas we needed. She has high expectations of her students, which I appreciated. She wants you to succeed but also learn how to write.
Tough but fair. Everything comes down to effort. If you want an easy class to skate by in, dont take her classes because she will see right through you. Take her course seriously and dedicate yourself to becoming a better writer and critical thinker and you will do well. Students who take her course and do well, end up as seriously good writers.
Unwilling to work with students or extend deadlines. Hard grader. She can be rude and dismissive if you ask questions. I would not take her class again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
the WORST WORST WORST teacher ive ever had. i do not recommend having her as a teacher. she was super rude. she would rarely answer my emails, i would have to send 2-3 emails for her to respond. she failed me on multiple assignments for things she did not include in her instructions for assignments. just terrible -1,000/10
She was a difficult professor and her feedback was very strict. Her essay directions are NOT specific and unhelpful.
Very rude and bitter, she makes no sense with the assignments.
, I'm writing while I'm in her class. She gives random quizzes every week and excepts us to read 2 stories every week. I have A's in all my classes except her. She gives one liners in her emails. She also waste alot of our time in discussion every class we discuss, I think there hasnt been a day where she thought us anything
The professor didn't want us to be creative and write in the style taught. She wanted us to write based on her example. I would say that's fine except for the fact that we were provided lectures on a different form of writing than she graded us on. When I emailed her, she misspelled my name and said I failed to do the assignment that had no rubric.
Dr. Lynch's literature class is mandatory if you want to develop your skill in literary analysis. I would recommend this class to anyone with an interest in pursuing a 4-year degree.
Took her class after a year and half of no school. The work load isnt crazy. Three papers that are opinionated but has very strict instructions. Has lectures that she expects you to watch. Quizzes and midterm are all multiply choice and you look up the answers. They are based on some of the stories you'll read and also on grammar question.
DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS WOMAN'S CLASS! I have always been a decent writer and the fact that she failed me based on the way I write without telling me how she wants it written is a burning red flag. The criteria she gives you for writing the papers doesn't even make sense and the authors she picks from arts do not have great writing skills either.
Doesn't accept late work because "that's how it works in the real world" yet here I am, in the real world, unable to register for summer semester because Dr Lynch has yet to submit our final grades
She starts wrong by not providing the Bookstore the information about the book she REQUEST for class, so when the bookstore doesn't sell that book because she posted that she didn't need anything the students COULDN'T USE FINANCIAL AID. You cant be 2 minutes late she will drag you in front of the class
Challenging professor with strict grading. Tricky assignment instructions. But unstuck AI helped me prepare well and I still managed to pass the class with a decent grade.
I took this class back in 2019 during my very first semester as a dual enrollment student and withdrew from it three weeks in. I just had to go back and write a review to warn others about how bad she was. She gave me terrible grades just because she didn't like my style - I've now had teachers use my writing as class examples! Such a joke.
Runnnn! Accuses your papers of AI, has a smart mouth & doesn't care about you learning! No extra credit no makeup work NOTHING. I was displaced Hurricane Helene & Milton. She told our class life goes on and papers are still due! No power, no home and she wanted papers turned in. I have never in life meet anyone like her and I pray I never do again!
She's doesn't care about her students or if "Life happens." She will fail you and wont except late work!! Stay away from this Professor if you want to learn and pass.
I took LIT 200 at SNHU with Professor Lynch and LOVED her. She is the rare professor who gives truly personalized feedback, and she provided many helpful guides and examples to help students navigate a challenging course. I'm shocked by her low ratings here and wonder if she is somehow being mixed up with a different professor who shares her name.
I have mixed feelings about this professor. She is extremely focused on AI and doesn't even allow the use of Grammarly. Her instructions are often unclear and change with each paper even how you're supposed to name the file If you have a busy life, I would not recommend taking this class. She is not flexible no extra credit under any circumstances.
God help you if you pick her class after you read this. If your computer has Grammarly on it, GET RID OF IT!!! She will up and down accuse you of using AI. I got a B on an Essay, and all I did was ramble. and she left me an essay in the comments about it!! You take her cl,ass God speed and good luck!!!
She claims to want the best for her students yet sets them up to fail. She uses articles that are hard to understand and wants very specific answers when in reality it has multiple possible answers. When she grades she has a lot of grammatical errors, picks at your paper, and writes comments that make your confidence in your writing go down.
Did not let you have an opinion on anything. She was short and would call us out if we were 2 minutes late to class. Made me feel on edge the whole semester.
