Mrs Preston is one of the best teachers at SPC! She gives class lectures and notes, as well as a study sheet before the test. She is nice and makes government an interesiting subject. I never thought I could like Government! Take her, she's great!!!

Professor Preston is extremely nice and approchable. The assignments and work are interesting and fun! I am learning so much from her. Very generous, and at the same time, fair in her grading. I recommend greatly!

Prof. Preston is probably one of the best teachers at the college. I learned more from her class lecture than any other class lecture I had ever taken. She is also a real nice person. Her class is not too hard either. All of my friends recommended her to me before I took the class and they were right. I would definitely recommend her to you.

She teaches the class very well and answers any questions. Her test are a little confusing but she gives you study guides for all of the tests. I would recommend her.

This class is so easy and fun. We hardly ever used the textbooks. This was one of my best teachers that i ahve ever taken at Saint Pete College. I highly recommend her for any one. She is very sweet and appreciates hard-working students. Although her tests can be awkwardly written, she curves the scores and throws out questions that she thought were unfair. Her lectures are fun and interesting and she respects your opinions on current issues.

Professor Preston was great! I was not looking forward to taking the class since I have never enjoyed American Government. Professor Preston really taught clearly and helped the class understand how our government works. I finally feel like I understand what is going on around me! She is a good teacher, but prepared for lots of note taking and you will have to write some papers. The tests are kinda hard but its nothing a good 3 hrs of studying won't solve. She is really nice and ALWAYS has time for her students. I would totally recommend her for government.

Very nice professor! I took American Gov't...pretty easy course, just do what she asks. Tests were not too bad, and she grades papers pretty easy. Also undestands how much it sucks to wake up early!!! A+ Prof.

Preston is a nice woman, and a good teacher, but she is the MOST unorganized Prof I have ever had. It takes her forever to grade things (even to get scantron tests back to students). I like her as a person, I just wish she wouldn't let students or other things distract her so much.

Very smart but always seemed disorganized and easily forgetful. A pushover, if 2 or more students complained about a grade, she will let you retake it. Didn't start or end class on time. Keep up with the assignments, which are not hard, you will do well. Takes attendance at random, usually forgets. Learned a lot otherwise.

fantastic Professor, responds quickly to all e-mails. She will bend over backwards to help you if you need it. Her lectures are entertaining and informative. She is well organized and you will always know exactly what she expects of you with 100% Clarity. I would definitely take her again.

If you suck at any kinda of history, which I do, She is FABULOUS! She explains everything! She's good about responding to emails and the work is not hard! Just do what she asks of you and you will be just fine.

I knew NOTHING about Government;this class was perfect. I learned a lot. She's not a tough grader and has test study guides and an active participation (volunteering with presentation). It's a relaxed atmosphere and she uses youtube videos for current events/comic relief-she even brought in doughnuts for last class.Really helpful-TAKE HER FOR GOV!!

I liked her, shes a really good teacher. It's just if you don't pay attention or miss a week worth of studing, you can't make that study time back up. It's alot of information in a short period of time. A few test are online, they are long. I ran out of time each time. I recommend taking this class by its self !!

Class is not hard but not super easy either. She uses Powerpoints often and will have quizzes online. Although she is bit unorganized, she still manages to teach what is needed. A little slow on grading but isn't a tough grader at all. Midterm and final, she gives out a study sheet which is accurate.

Professor Preston loves what she teaches, but she is not organize. She has a midterm and final... the overall class work is time consuming.

I feel like I hardly did much for this class and got an A. The material is easy as long as you study a little bit. Being government, none of the concepts are hard to grasp, but a bit of studying to memorize is required. I studied probably 3 times for an hour each for her final and ended up getting a 74/75. Easy class

Professor Preston is very unorganized yes I agree, however she is very helpful, replies back quickly, her lectures are rather boring, you don't really need to go to the lecture to know the content. Everything is so easy, do the MidTerm/Final review worksheets and you'll get an easy A. Focus on your quizzes, get all A's and B's if you can on them!!

Best teacher I've had in a while! Quizzes on every chapter online...easy! Lectures are a little boring. Makes you do a projects with a group-8 hours community service (your pick) and give presentation. This alone is worth 23% of your grade! Easy class. Nice professor... she'll assist you with anything you need!

Professor Preston is very nice. She'll love you if your willing to participate in class. She gives extra credit opportunities and if you study hard for midterms and finals, you'll do well. I recommend getting the book to help with the weekly online quizzes,it was a life saver.

Overall she is a wonderful teacher. BUT, her blended classes that deal with SPC's Angel, is way too busy. And, she forgets to open tasks, so you cannot complete them until you remind her. Very inconvenient blended class.

This class was an easy A for me. She grades easy on the written assignments and you can take quizzes twice and she takes the higher grade of the two. Her study guides for the midterm and final really help. She requires 8 hours of volunteering for a group project which is a pain organizing. I def recommend her.

I had no interest in taking Government, however, after taking her class, I must say that I learned alot. Her class is not hard; easy A if you study the material. Quizzes online are easy;the midterm was not hard at all. The written assignments are okay but the final was harder than the midterm. Overall, I recommend.Great Professor.

Excellent in keeping your attention, uses a variety of methods. Slow to respond to emails and grades. Hardly ever prepared on time, but overall excellent professor. She expects a lot (projects, papers), but is very fair in grading. Would recommend!

If you read your book you'll pass the class. She sometimes don't reply to message as fast as other Professors but she's alright.

I took this class blended in the eight week session. It was not hard, but it was a lot of work. Luckily all of the quizes and test were online, even the mid-term and the final. Save the questions from the quizes, all of the same are on the midterm and the final! Ms Preston was very nice. She definitely knows what she is talking about!

I took this class because I had to, and didn't really get a sense of government after the class was over. Besides that, she gets sidetracked very easily so her agenda gets thrown off. Heavy workload on one project, which is a group active volunteer service for 8 hours, then a presentation, paper, individual assessment. A lot of the grade. NOT BAD!

I took the express Government class and really recommend it. She's a really cool and understanding person. She was pretty lenient with our class and made sure everyone was on track. She was passionate about the subject so class was never boring.

Dr. Preston is a fantastic professor. She is very passionate about government and gives lots of opportunities outside of class to earn extra credit. She will work with each person individually and make sure the class is the best it can be for them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Dr. Preston is an outstansing teacher. She gave personal, informative feedback and replied to emails in a timely manner. The second half of the course was a little intense because we had so many quizzes, journals, reseach papers due but as long as you put the time in you will do great!! I would highly recommend her

AMAZING! After taking her class I had a way better understanding of American Gov't than I had ever had before. It really put things into perspective and has helped change some of my future plans. Her tests are online so they're open notebook. Her projects and papers are straight forward and as long as you give a legit opinion your good.

This is the professor you want to take for American National Government. She breaks everything down or the people who do not understand how the system works and make one of her projects all about participation. Ms. Preston keeps the entire class engaged and is exceptionally conscientious. Her assignments are reasonable and she reviews before tests.

Amazing teacher period!!! worked with me while a had a personal emergency helped me get through the semester and without her i wouldn't of passed. Very kind and good hearted. Class makes you think outside the box, watch the videos and you will learn alot from them and it will open your eyes to alot of new things. One of the best professors ive had!

Great teacher! Criteria and expectations were clearly defined and she let's you know right off the bat there is a group project and volunteer citizenship project. Was always available for help and good with responding pretty quickly. Fair grading. I feel like she made this class interesting and I would recommend her for this course :)

If you need to take American Government, take this teacher!!! She makes the material interesting and keeps the class engaged. Clear on her expectations. Usually available and gives good feed back. Grades fair. Tests are online so it's open-book, not to mention her PP's cover all material needed for the exams and tests. I recommend her 100% !

very knowledgable of the subject

quiz every week, few parts to a final paper on your own topic, not very big paper. many extra credit opps, discussions, journal articles, mid term and final you can take at home, i was kinda dreading this class but she made it much better. she has like 5-7 classes she teaches so it may take a couple days for results but didn't bother me

Took this on-line. Professor Preston augmented the book with videos that showed the topics in a different and sometimes humorous light. Syllabus was well laid out. Was specific in her feedback and what she was looking for. Communication via email was easy and responsive. I enjoyed this class because of the extra content she brought to the table.

Overall, I would recommend her. Pro, she's a very easy grader and she accepts late assignments which really helped me out. Con, She doesn't keep up with grading very well and will wait until the very last couple of days before grades are due to start supplying grades so its next to impossible to know how you're doing in the class.

If you are looking to take American Government online this professor is an easy A. She's a super easy grader and you get two attempts at every quiz. The mid-term and final are online. The only negative thing I can say about her is that she is terribly slow at grading. With that being, said she responds to e-mails lightning fast.

Professor Preston, Is a great professor & one of my favorite professors.

My only complaint is the long wait for grades. Great feedback for the first few assignments. It takes forever, but she is an easy grader. A few discussion posts, quiz every week (multiple attempts), midterm, final, a few 300 word essays and one longer paper. Some quiz questions were wrong, but she is quick to fix. Textbook is a must. Easy A!

The tests were hard for me, but that may just be me... 4 tests total, study guides provided, sometimes open note/book but not guaranteed, definitely on the final. One grade dropped. Not a TON of info in lectures but she will give some test questions, so pay attention. Easier in the beginning.

I took the 8 week express class and I would take it again! All quizzes online open book! Don't miss a lecture, because she gives a lot of info out. We only meet once a week! She kept it exciting, easy going, and truly cares! 8 week class is the way to go! Great professor!!

I took American Government with Suzanne Preston--she's a very caring professor. There is a bit of work, including quizzes weekly or biweekly, SHORT papers and discussions, 1 research paper, and the midterm and final. The discussion and papers are 300 words, and the research paper is fairly short as well. Many chances for EASY extra credit too.

Did not need to use the textbook, save your money! Mrs. Preston did a wonderful job at making government interesting! She explains everything very well.

Top three teachers for the semester. When Irma hit she put all of our tests online so it makes it easier. Quizzes are also online and easy to do. She is the nicest political science teacher you will ever meet. Active Citizenship is easy and must do it in a group. Research project is easy and offers extra credit for mailing it. It is a hard class, but she is super nice and wants all of her students to do well. She understands that her students have busy lives outside of school and is willing to work with you as long as you still try and communicate with her. Would take her again for sure!

Mrs. Preston is by far the best BEST BEST Professor I've ever had. She is so caring and wants to help everyone pass. I did the eight week express class, online and campus. It was accelerated and a lot of work, but if you attend her lectures and do your homework you will pass with a good grade. Her quiz's and tests are online.

Professor Preston is amazing - I took her class online, and she seems like she truly wants everyone to do their best! She is flexible with accommodations and allows students to turn in late work (sometimes with a penalty, but no more than 5 points deducted). Overall great professor and class!

This professor is really flexible with grading papers. She will grade all the papers the last week of the semester. She gives you a lot of breaks, she even said one time that our time is the most valuable here. The only thing that I didn't like is that she is too flexible and sometimes that's bad because you might get lazy with the work.

Mrs. Preston is amazing. I took her for American Goverment; and I could not ask for a better teacher. She is very caring, funny, helpful, and the workload is not that hard at all. She is probably the best professor I ever had; I would most certainly take her again. (she is also Catholic, but this does not cause any discrimination AT ALL)

This course was very educational for me. Ms. Preston made the content easy to tackle. She was very encouraging the entire way. Gave great feedback on each assignment so you could improve on the following ones. Email was answered within hours. She is an amazing instructor!

I could not ask for a better government professor. She was there for me when I needed help especially for annotated bibliography and bill. Her tests were online because Irma hit and she did not have time to print them all out. Offers extra credit for mailing the bill and other assignments. I wish I had her for more of my classes.

Professor Preston is truly a wonderful instructor and lecturer overall. I took her for an 8-week Honors American Government express course and loved every bit of it. She is deeply understanding, and really dives into the material and applies it to everyday life. I really enjoyed myself and would genuinely do it all over again!

Took American Government over the summer and I didn't think I would enjoy or learn much from the class, but I did. Professor Preston is really easy going and genuinely wants you to learn in her course. 10/10 would recommend her for any class she teaches.

I had taken this class last semester but had to drop it because it was a really hard professor I met with her letting her know and she was so understanding and is always there for you when you need her.

Class is an easy A and she is extremely understanding. I had her for the 8 week honors express course. Your understanding of government might not be the best at the end of the semester, but unless you want to be a politician, no one needs in depth knowledge government anyways.

She is so nice. There are four writing assignments. One research paper, ten quizzes which are easy, five discussion posts, mid-term, and final (not proctor). There is 20 points of extra credit too. Also, I generally learned a lot in this class. I'm thinking about changing my major to political science. Also, the textbook is in my courses.

Part of the guinea pig class for the new SPC Live Online Course 2020 Fall, so I can't criticize her too much with organization bc we were all looking to adjust. Overall she's understanding, the grading is clear, the textbook chapters are provided and she recommend books to enhance learning (not mandatory). Just a good option if you want an A.

She made Government very entertaining and really wants you to succeed. She truly cares about you every day before or after class she would ask how we were doing and if she can help in any way. Definitely recommend taking her!

There are enough words to describe how amazing Prof Preston is and how enjoyable her class was. She always started out getting to know us, included engaging activities, and made the work easy to learn. There wasn't a ton of work which wasn't always based on accuracy. She is understanding, kind and really helpful. I would 100% take her class again.
