Although her class is hard, she does a very good job explaning the material. She will make it much easier to understand! Thumbs up!

She's not easy but she forces you to learn the material. If you do all the homework she assigns then you will know the material. She is extremely knowledgable

Me thinks some people had issues with not getting A's or B's in this class and wrote some bad opinions! This lady is amazingly helpful and she knows her stuff. She's tough, but she's very fair. She does NOT curve, so don't take her if you think effort is enough to translate to an A. It isn't.

There are alot of homework assignments along with numberous quizes, sort of a tough class. She is very helpful and concise. If you can keep up with her class, you will learn tremendously. She is a great teacher for Acc 201.

Very tough teacher. She gives you a load of work for a 201 class. She also marks off for every little thing and it's easy to lose lots of points fast. If you are going to be an accounting major, I'd take her.. but if you are not going into accounting I'd take a different teacher!!!

After taking more accounting classes I realize how good of a teracher she was. She tells you what to study and as long a you actually do the homework (not copy) then you will get an A.

Challenging if you don't go to class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you get extra credit points if you turn in all the assignments (which you need to go to class for or e-mail to her with an excuse). But doing the assignments really help

Assigns lots of work and tests are long. Very WebCT oriented. Class difficult until I started doing the homework and putting in some effort. If you want to learn about Financial Accounting and put in the effort take her, otherwise I would try someone else.

Prof. Sevalstad is very knowledgeable on accounting. Her lectures were clear and chapter notes were provided on WebCT. Has students do exercises in class and walks around room if anyone needs help. Tons of homework. Commit FIFO and LIFO to memory. Her overall grading is fair.

i did all my homework and questions and i studied but i got a D i wouldn't take her if i had other choices. i think her grading was hard no one ever got good grades in my class. most people did poor on their quizes like 5/10 if that.....

If you want to learn and understand accounting, then she is the teacher to take. She makes you work so much and it is irritating at the time, but she is the best teacher for. I got a B in the end, but I also earned it.

Class may appear overly difficult at first, but the professor provides a very well organized schedule which makes the large workload easier. She is very fair in grading and overall a very professional and dedicated professor I recommend her if you are willing to work hard, because it will result in a valuable learning experience and a good grade.

I hate accounting.However, Ms. Sevalstad is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. If it wasn't for her, I would not have passed the class. She is super fair and beats a subject to death until every one in the class understands it. I got C's on every single test and quiz, but pulled a B, because I never nissed class and all homework.

Class may appear to be overwhelming, but Professor Sevalstad makes it as easy as possible. Gives you a clear schedule of when everything is due and gives hints about what is going to be on the quizzes and tests. If you go to class and do all of the homework you will be sure to pass. Very helpful professor.

She cracks the whip, but it is with purpose. A LOT of homework, but you actually learn if you have some patience and stick with it. She may seem mean, but I think deep, deep down she actually cares.

If you want to learn something.. this is the proff you need! It does kinda suck that for every lesson there is homework and you do questions, webct quizz and online stuff at the start of each chapter, but you get to know everything very well so less studying for the final. Her tests are long! She makes accounting easy.

She honestly didn't crack that whip too hard. Between me and my accounting partner, we laughed and chuckled so much in that class.The class isn't boring if you have great partners and she did always looked up at us, but she liked us.Hhe would come up to me after class and talk about how we goof around too much esp. my partner but still loved us

This teacher has been teaching this class for over 20 years. Because of this, it is hard to get over on her. If you simply do the homework, and more importantly, read the book, it is impossible for you to fail this class. I really learned alot in this class! She's a great teacher that is often overhyped to be a ****!

This class was fun and interesting. As a professor who has taught this class forever, she knows what she's doing. She explains a topic and has you do many exercises in class with your partners. Fun interactive class. I highly recommend taking this class.

She is a great teacher. Understands accouting very well and answers any questions you may have. She does assign a lot of work but it's not hard...just time consuming. If you attend class and keep up on the readings and assignments, then you should do well in the class.

Took her back two years ago. Obviously she is still doing good, and i just wanted to put my two cents in. It's alot of work, but it's worth it. The homework really helps with memorizing for the test. She'll give you extra points too if you turn in all your assignments

Ms. Sevalstad is a good teacher. She is fair. You do the work, you get the grade. There is a lot of memorization in this class for tests, lots of homework, but it helps your grade and understanding. She is very willing to help with whatever questions you have. I would definately take this class again!

By far one of the best professors that I have had. I would recomend her to any one. There is a bit of class work but in the preporations for exams the work is well worth it. It is very apparent that she knows alot about accounting. I wish that she tought higher level ACC classes.

This class requires alot of hard work and concentration in order to complete homework on time. Tests count for most your grade so be sure to study as much as possible. She is actually pretty helpful during her office hours. She is really intense.

For an accounting class, this one isn't bad. She has a systematic, redundant order that WILL help you in the long run to memorize. Attendance not mandatory but you will miss mini-quizzes if not there. Do all your homework, which is online, and you get bonus points for completing it all. All the little points add up and really help your grade

This Prof was a great teacher. She did expect a lot of us but this is a university. she uses the clicker daily for attendance, there is extra credit available just by coming to class. overall very good!!

I think she is a pretty good instructor she kept my attention and taught me alot. Lots of homework but not all are required. 3 exams, 6 one page essay questions, she tells you the answers. I did all the homework, half the essays, got a C, D, B, on the exams, have a full time job, kids at home, and didn't read the last 4 chapters and still got a B.

Hard Professor, but knows her stuff! make sure you go to class and keep up with the notes..homework is not mandatory but if you do it the tests will seem easier..stick with her..she usually curves the second test..do the homewor and attend class and you'll be fine!

while everyone else seems to depict her as cruella deville, i will beg to differ. she came off as harsh at first, but it's just her teaching style. she's what a college professor should be. yeah it is a lot of work, but boy does it help. her course challenged me, but i retained more information from her class than all my others collectively.

Good Professor, nice and will have you around during office hours if you need the help. There is alot of homework, so you definitly will need your book for this class. She is a great teacher. She gives tons of homework, even over breaks, but you get 20pts extra credit for doing all of it and an additional 10 for attendance. Not really sure about the person below...it was only ten points for attendance. Hence your grammar, may be a hint to your grade. A+ teacher with a lot of work. May want to take it by itself

Yes she does give alot of homework,but it helps prepare you for the tests so it is not in vain.She requires you to read the chapt. before coming to lecture and this really helps clarify things you didnt understand.I did not make an A,but she makes it possible to do so.I am not going to blame her because I was lazy this semester.MUST ATTEND CLASS!

Secret to success is to do ALL the work. She really walks you through and there is plenty of points available from various assignments to add up to and A. A lot of homework and exams are intense, overall not an easy class but not too hard if you keep yourself focused. Would not recommend to slackers or to people who are not good with numbers.
