Best Acct 2121 teacher but still a hard class

Fairly easy course, but lots of math so be prepared. Tests are extremely long, but you'll do OK if you study. 2122 is easier so just get this over with and you'll be fine.

This course has too much material for such a short amount of time, but Sevin does all she can to teach it to you. Uses every second. Read before class, do homework and practice exams.

Great Acct intro teacher, she knows her stuff. Most find the class very difficult, but it's not fairly easy if you have ANY previous basic Acct knowledge. I highly recommend taking her.

Very good professor, if you don't think so then the business world is not for you. She has been by far the best professor for accounting I have had. I am a senior in it and believe me there is no professor who can teach it better!

This is a great professor. She teaches fast so plan to keep up! Make sure you come to class b/c attendance is taken! If you come come you won't have to read the book much. Her notes are very thorough. There are quizzes on each chapter that can be difficult if you don't study. Study and do the homework and you should get an A.

Dr. Sevin is really a nice professor. Helps you out when you have a million and one questions. Go to class and do well on the quizzes then you shouldn't have a problem on the actual test.

This is a hard subject and most people will struggle. She GIVES LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE UR GRADE(PROJECTs, etc.) She is sooooooooooooo helpful and will bend over backwards to make sure you understand the material.

i like the professor, but i HATE the class!! you basically have to teach yourself the material because all the exams are common exams, and she goes through the material pretty quickly just so she can make sure she covers it all for the common exams...i still hate the class...accounting just flat out SUCKS

She is very clear in her lectures. You'll need to stay on top of things in this class or you will get lost. She is approachable so don't be afraid to ask questions. Make sure to do your homework so you can ace the weekly quizzes.

She is THE BEST professor to take for acct. She clearly explains everything, its a tough class but just keep up with the homework and you can make an A or a B no matter what anyone else says. She is helpful and ALWAYS available for questions and responds to emails quickly. All I can say is TAKE HER!!! you will learn alot!

Excellent Professor! Dr.Sevin knows what she is talking about. She has experience in the field of accounting and teaching. I would take her class again in a heart beat. Study for her quizzes, they can be difficult..she just wants you do to well on the tests. Go to class, read, go to her if you have a question. Highly recommend Dr. Sevin to anyone!

Okay teacher. You follow along and fill in the pre written notes she give to you. She assigns alot of homework that is just plain stupid. Its nothing like the test and really just takes up your time. She defintly knows here accounting stuff but is computer challanged. Has a hard time using the new stuff in the class rooms which takes up time.

She's a good teacher. The tests are hard, but the department head makes them, not the teachers. Easy to work with outside of class and email back fast. She also makes it easy to understand if you come to class.

She is a good teacher. She will help students get through the course. You really need the book, and you must do the online homework, if you pay attention and go to class every day, you will be fine.

She's really nice and explains the work clearly. Notes are easy to take because they are fill in blank of what she says. A TON of homework on wileyplus EVERY class. The third test is the hardest. One case study to complete with a group and a few quizzes. She is really educated on the subject and teaches it well. She was nice.

This is the best teacher i've ever had. She was the reason I chose Accounting as my major. Made everything extremely understandable and easy. It's not the easiest subject, but if you goto class, copy down her notes (Which she hands out, you just fill in blanks) you'll do fine. I recommend her to everyone, and wish she taught higher level ACCT.

Great professor, hard class. She is very helpful, attendance is mandatory but you will want to come anyways or else you will be lost. Book not needed. Study, go to SI, and do the homework! It really helps.

She is a very helpful professor!! Her lectures keep you interested and are fill in the blank. Go to class, listen, sit near the front, ask questions, do the hw. I hardly ever cracked open the textbook and I made A's on the tests. There is also SI and business fraternity tutoring offered, but i didnt use any of it!

great teacher for an introductory accounting class. notes are outlined online and you fill in blanks/examples. never really used the book except for like 4 times to do examples. connect homework i recommend as a grade booster. semester group project is soooo easy. GO TO CLASS AND YOU WILL DO WELL.

Dr. Sevin is a very good professor. The class is definitely not easy. I had to show up to class every day and keep up with the notes to understand what was going on. Also need to constantly keep up with the individual homework assignments online, I missed a few on accident. She is very consistent with notes and very clear about the coursework.

This is not a hard class if you pay attention in class, take good notes, and do the required homework. She is always willing to help, whether it is during class or afterward in her office. You need to attend class regularly to answer graded clicker questions. Overall, as long as you put in some effort, there is no reason for you to do poorly.

Dr. Sevin is awesome! Taking her class re-affirmed my decision to be an accounting major. Her teaching style is very structured and organized, which was great given the subject matter. I found myself studying the chapter handouts from class much more than the book. It is not hard to get an A in this class, just pay attention and do the HW.

She is a great professor and really explains things well. As long as you go to class, pay attention, and stay up to date on the HW assignments, there's no reason why you shouldn't make at least a B.

She is a very clear speaker and interesting to listen to, but class can be tricky. She is willing to work with you. I got a C but if I were to go back in time I would definitely go to the tutoring sessions she kept talking about. Not a bad teacher, just be ready to put in your share of the work.

This is a very difficult class, but she is a good professor. She talks fast and flies through the material. Go to every single class, print the handouts before each class, always do the optional homework. She offers extra credit, but you must get it 100% correct to get your 1 point. Overall, I would take her again.

Dr. Sevin was the best instructor I had in the Belk College. Her instruction is very clear and concise. She is always willing to help with any difficulties you may have. She is also very friendly and maintains a sense of humor. I look forward to taking Advanced Accounting with her in the MACC program.

Great Professor. Learned so much from this course. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you want the clicker points & make a good grade, DO NOT MISS CLASS!! It is easy to get behind if you miss one day. Her tests are very similar to the homework. She gives you plenty of practice problems to sharpen your skills for the tests.

This is a very fast paced class no matter who is teaching it. There is a lot of information and Dr. Sevin does a very good job presenting the material. Her homework and quizzes are fair representation of her tests.

Hands down the best accounting professor at UNC Charlotte. She doesn't teach straight from a boring book and she gives great examples through her experience, which she has a lot of. Simplest professor for this course. Mynatt is much more difficult and teaches from a publisher PowerPoint. Do the extra credit and go to class.

By far the best accounting professor at UNC Charlotte. Always answers your questions and helps you whenever you need it. She offers extra credit, which the others did not. She relates the material to real life situations, and personal experience. Was a thrill to take, and had the class laughing. Overall, she is the best!!!!

The best professor I have had in my time here at UNCC. She is not the easiest but I guarantee you will learn the material with her and it will stick with you. Honestly wish she taught 2122 as well because I would take that class without thinking twice.

Dr. Sevin is the best Accounting professor in the department. She is absolutely clear on what she expects to you, gives you guidance throughout the semester and prepares you very well for exams. Now. One thing to note: Accounting is not easy and it is certainly not for everyone. But if you want to understand the topic, take Sevin.

Connect HW every night. Then optional extra credit problems. The extra credit is a must for an A. She's as clear as you can be in Accounting. Really comes down to studying outside of class though. She was always prepared, fill in the blank notes for every chapter, posted all the book answers, broke down the test topics the class before the exam.

She is very bubbly, nice, and well respected. She moves quickly, but it's because there is so much to learn. She really wants the best for her students, but expects you to do the work and study hard. Overall, she is one of my favorite professors.

I took Sevin's class back in Spring 2015. She has very clear grading criteria and she also gives you fill in the blank notes for lecture. Although she can go through the material quickly, she's very friendly and doesn't mind answering students' question. Best professor I've had here, anyone else that rates her terribly just didn't put in the work.

Dr Sevin turned out to be one my favorite professors I have had. The class is straight forward. Hand outs on Moodle, easy HW, easy clicker questions. Show up, pay attention, do the hw. She is literally taking notes for you, just copy. I would rate easiness a 5 but some people do struggle, read the chapters before class if you are.

Professor Sevin is one of my favorite professors at UNCC. Clicker points in class, weekly HW, occasional quizzes, and 3 exams plus a cumulative final. Exams are all MC and can be tricky. She is great at answering questions and the guided notes will be your floatation device throughout the course. Very possible to make an A, but you do have to put in the work.

Dr. Sevin is amazing! One of the hardest classes I've taken (the subject is difficult), and one of my few Bs, but I learned more from her than any other class in the Acctg Dept. She is always happy to help students and encourages questions. She made sure we understood before moving on to new topic. If you want to learn accounting, TAKE HER!

I hated accounting after barely surviving ACCT 3311. Professor Sevin made me love it again and inspired me to move forward in my career as an accountant. Study hard and you'll ace this class. She gives you everything you need to be successful.

Great professor!! This is not an easy course, but she delivers the material in a way that makes it easy to understand. This is a face paced course, but she gives you supplemental problems that make it possible to succeed. Do the optional homework several times before an exam and rework all class problems.

If you need to take accounting 2121 she is the prof. Just go to class and print out the notes, the printable notes make sure there is much less writing. The tests are just like the notes and if you study then getting an A in this class is extremely easy.

Intermediate 2 is one of the hardest classes in the accounting department, but Dr. Sevin does her best to make it manageable. She gives you clear notes, her practice exams are similar to the tests. She is available for help & answers your questions promptly. You have to dedicate time to this class, but she does her best to help you out.

Definitely one of the hardest classes I've taken. Dr. Sevin is an amazing professor! Print out lecture handouts and fill them in during class. Do her extra practice problems (not graded) to study for exams. This is a professor you can visit and chat with about your goals and even potential career! She's definitely one you want to have.

Amazing professor! Would take her again in a heartbeat! She teaches some of the hardest classes at UNCC and makes the material understandable. Definitely take Sevin if you have the chance to, you will come out having a strong knowledge of accounting. She genuinely cares for her students and even tries to help students with career goals.

Intermediate Accounting is hard to begin with and she makes it as simple as she possibly can by providing fill-in-the-blank notes for lectures. I had Dr. Sevin for 3312 (twice) and 6270. Her classes are very straightforward but require a TON of work. It also doesn't help that her classes cover a ton of material that may not all flow together. Take every extra credit opportunity available.

Very well structured class. Expectations are made extremely clear. Plenty of supplementary material available on canvas. Has an answer available immediately for every question you ask her. Organized and competent, would absolutely take her classes again.

This is a difficult course but she provides all the resources to be successful in it. Her lectures include all the necessary information to do well on the homework and exams. She is smart, kind, and the perfect accounting professor.

Professor Sevin is very strict about academic integrity and tells you what she expects from day one. For tests do all the reviews posted online and be prepared to study a lot. This course is heavily test weighted and her poll everywhere questions are a must.

She is a pro when it comes to acct 2121 ( a very difficult class); she gives out guided notes and goes over everything. Both 3312 classes are hard. BUT both professors are great. No matter who you have, you will be fine. That being said, Dr. Sevin is amazing!! Print-out lectures, extra credit, tells you what's on exam, kind, great examples, gives you all the HW answers so it's an automatic 100 grade on those. She won't waste your time any more than needed. GOAT!

Great professor for accounting. Loved her. Tests and quizzes are really hard. Doing the homework isn't sufficient enough. Do practice a LOT. Material is straight forward. Pure logic class. Gives notes handout. You have to work for your grade though.

The first thing she tells you is 30% of the class will drop it before the drop deadline this is very true. Goes through notes really fast. Quizzes are based on homework. Can't memorize you have to understand the concepts to do good in the class.

Professor Sevin is a very kind and caring person. She comes to class with a smile on her face everyday and can make boring lectures somewhat fun. She gives links to study guides for tests. Homework and quizzes make up a decent percentage of your grade but if you put in the time, you can easily get a 100 on those (thats how I got an A in the class).

This was my second time taking accounting and sevin was AMAZING. She gave guided notes and told you what you needed to know for the exams. Gives you a week notice for any quizzes. Lectures are Interesting and full of examples. I wish she taught accounting 2

Great professor, her lectures were very informative and relatively easy to understand. The class itself is slightly difficult but if you try on the homework you will understand the material as it is repetitive. She genuinely wants everyone to pass and always makes sure to see if we understand during lectures.

Dr. Seven was an amazing professor! Her video lectures are a little long but very comprehensive.

Overall, she is a good choice over others in the accounting program. Tests (open note) are easy if you watch lectures and do homework. You can't view test feedback unless you went in person. This class rarely stressed me out as deadlines are the same every week. Lecture video quiz due night before class, homework due Friday night 5pm. Take her!!

Great professor, very knowledgeable and kind! Took it during the summer, so course load is a little heavy but it's definitely manageable! Tests are open-note but with Respondus. Practicing the material is critical, but she is more than happy to help you understand it. Definitely recommend her. Class is probably way easier during a regular semester.

She has clear expectations. Homework takes some time! Took during summer! It is a course you must understand if you're going into business, and she does her best to make sure you do. If you have a question ask her, and she will be there for you. You do need to work in this class, especially during summer. Repetition is The KEY to success!

I understand this class is difficult for others, but this is my personal experience. I appreciated Dr. Sevin's experience in accounting, and her system of notes/homework/test review materials. Tests are a big challenging, as this is supposed to be a weeding out course, so make sure to do ample practice problems and spread out studying.

Personally I thought Dr. Sevin did a great job preparing us for future accounting courses. She made it so we actually had to study and learn the content (versus using a cheat sheet like other profs). She also gave guided notes that were super helpful. If you complete the homework you will start to understand all the concepts we learn. Take her :)

Dr. Sevin is the best professor ive ever taken. This class is extremely difficult but she gives several opportunities for help like tutoring, time after class, etc. Cheating in this class will not work as the tests are very difficult so you do need to actually study. She is very sweet and I would love to take her again.

This class is easy unless you're stupid. She gives out guided lecture notes so just show up to class and pay attention lol.

She gives great lectures and is fair with homework/tests, but she won't let us use graphing calculators, and instead we have to use dollar store calculators, which aren't always the most reliable and can really throw you off during a test.

Dr. Sevin is a wonderful teacher. Trust me if you value what you're learning take Dr. Sevin. She is clearly an expert. If you use her guided notes, ask questions, do the homework, and study, you will get an A. Attendance doesn't count against you, just know that you'll miss important info like dates of quizzes and miss out on the guided notes.

She is VERY structured and keeps to a very strict schedule on all notes. She won't post any of the lectures online so if you miss class you miss those notes. I personally learn well under very well structured classes so for me I felt she did a good job. She can be sassy if you try to interrupt her lecture with a question lol.

This is the second time I have taken one of Professor Sevins classes and I would go out of my way to make sure she was one of my accounting professors again (if i had the opportunity). Professor Sevin is great. I recommend for any accounting class. I've her for ACCT 2121 and 3323. She provides lecture handouts. Only complaint was tests were long and I was always barely finishing or missing a couple questions. But overall she is great. She paces well throughout the semester with lectures and homework.

Really cares about the students and genuinely wants you to learn and be successful. Her tests and quizzes need to be studied for, but she makes it easy to prepare. One of the best lecturers I have ever had as well.
