Gives way to much work. She is a terrible teacher and is lazy.

I dislike her extremely! She grades way to hard and is mean about her grading...she makes you feel stupid sometimes.

This has been the worst class I have ever taken. She postdates all over the place not in a specific place. She is RUDE when she talks to you about what you have done wrong. It all looks great at first but HOLY COW RUN. I will never take a class with her AGAIN.......

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. when i went to her office hours she was extremely rude to me when i asked for help, so i then decided to go to the writing center only. Every paper i typed for class was an F, even though i've gotten help from the people in the writing center and they told me my papers were great.I honestly dont know how shes still teaching

She gives you a C at best on everything you turn in even when you've followed all the criteria. She doesn't give any good feedback on assignments, and also didn't follow the syllabus at all for the semester. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR, you will not get a good grade.

if you cant find 2 3 hours to spend on this class time btwn Mon.8AM and Wed Midnight, prepare for grade letter drop. She gives the work for the class on mon and has 1/2 to 3/4 of the work due by Wednesday night. jumps around chapters & not posted before mon. Late work is accepted ONCE before she will ignore it. If you can do the work MW easy A.

Do not take this professor, she is seriously the worst. She assigns crazy assignments and always has tests and quizzes every other day. She lectures the entire time, and will call you out if you try and leave early. Unless you're a hard core dedicated student, do not take her class.

Very rude teacher, does not respond to emails like a teacher should and treats students like they are dumb if they ask any questions. Be prepared to spend at least 5-6 hours a week on this class. The workload is also incredibly intense and she grades very strict, would never take her again.

She is a very inconsiderate teacher. I rewrote many of my papers and had several meetings with her. I would always fix anything she said was wrong with the paper and she would still find other things wrong with the paper that she never originally mentioned in the meeting. She gets very off task in class and is never direct with what she wants.

She's not very helpful when needed

She is awful when giving feedback. Her handwriting is not legible when giving side notes. Very rude to certain students and a very picky person. Makes last minute changes for final papers. She does not try to be polite, if you want to take her class, you are looking at tears and a rough time this semester. Dont waste your time for sustainability!!

Never in my life would I recommend her as a professor. This class was filled with frustration and tears. No matter what I did it was never enough. There is absolutely no reason someone should struggle this much in a comp 1 class. I would definitely veer away from this one.

This professor is super nice and caring, however she is a really hard grader. When she gives feedback in peer reviews, she doesnt mention important things that she takes points off on the final. Super tough grader, but if you are a great writer and a hard worker, she will favor you and help you get to where you want.

Be prepared to be graded the hardest youve ever been, on the very least amount of points for a semester. When given comments on final papers, she was very rude and left very unnecessary attitude within your failures. Yes she gives constructive feedback, but in a very rude way. Better have tough skin for this one! Would never take again.

Don't get fooled Ms. Smith may look sweet and just a nice old lady. But come on she grades to the bare minimum on just about every assignment. On one of my grades early in the semester my grade went from a 85 to a 65 from one bad assignment that was worth about 20 points.... Think again when you are choosing your classes.

She gets very distracted in class, but if you happen to miss a class you are doomed. I turned in an assignment after she said it was okay and she gave me an F. The hardest grader I have ever had in 3 years of college. The comments she left on my papers were snarky for no good reason.

This professor is a joke. I haven't met a person less transparent then professor smith. Assignments are impossible to find and there is no forgiveness for late assignments even with valid excuses. I’ve showed up to every class and have been trying my absolute hardest but the only thing I have gained is lost brain cells from smith

She over does the information and makes it more difficult as you have to bounce back and forth between information. Information not easy to follow.

AWFUL!!!!!!!! Grades extremely hard, gives such little direction that makes zero sense, doesn't explain things well at all and refuses to help.

She is hands down the worst professor on campus. She puts everything online but she is the most lacking person in technology skills I have ever met. She ends up confusing herself with the blackboard due dates and it ended up costing myself and multiple class mates our grade in this class.

One of the worst professors I have ever had in college. She grades you on the impossible and it's hard to pass this class. Get ready for her to talk about what we need to learn and then starts talking about something else that has absolutely nothing to do with the lecture. She's also very rude when it comes to grading your papers. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!

Borderline impossible amount of work. Passive aggressive feedback. Scatterbrained. I used to think I was good at writing and English in general until I took this class. I've done every. single. assignment. and still ended up with a 40% I've never had a problem getting A's in my classes let alone FAILING. If you see her name on your schedule DROP!

Just terrible, the worst class and professor on campus, by far the toughest grader i have had, usually an A student and barely passed this course. talks and talks all class and still dosent explain assignments in full detail. backhanded remarks, I truly believe she enjoys failing her students. Just awful. DO NOT TAKE

by the grace of the lord I am at a b- in this class right now currently after talking to all my classmates I have the highest grade I would like to respectfully say she is not okay mentally and I worry about her because she undoubtably has some form of dementia most students are failing and she even forgets what class she is teaching

During class she is very unorganized and jumps from topic to topic alot, which includes assigning homework which can be confusing. Papers are done in her own specific "style" which causes confusion when rubric says APA. Grading is pretty harsh, and is very passive aggressive when grading. GRADES SUPER LATE, and lack of timely feedback on drafts.

If you're looking for an easy A don't take it with this professor. Passive-aggressive and does not have good communication skills. She will raise her voice or point in your face to get her point across. Work is not hard; some people just have a way of overcomplicating things. Do not ignore the warning signs! I took the risk, you should not.

Worst professor I've had so far. Rude and inconsiderate. She doesn't understand how to explain assignments or give clarity. She comes off quite rude all the time. God forbid you miss a class it's like being put two weeks behind. The courseload isn't difficult but she has a distinct writing style and if you don't write like her, prepare to get a C.

The English department at UT seriously needs new professors. Too many elderly, disorganized, rude, and inconsiderate "teachers" are ruining the program. Never in my life have I struggled with English, until I started at UT, and had to conform to each dementia-ridden professor's oddly specific writing style that makes absolutely no sense.

Convinced I only did bad in this class because 90% of her lectures consist of her rambling about nonsense. You can't even escape it at home either, she posted like 5 messages a day on blackboard using the most amount of words possible to "explain" something so simple. Never has a teacher made something so basic so hard to understand. So confused.

I literally have no idea what is going on in this class. Which is insane considering the amount of messages she posts, and content there is posted on her blackboard page. Content that should be posted on Monday every week, but ends up getting posted on about Wednesday each week, mind you.

why did we ever use microsoft teams for this class. It just complicated everything and made everything harder to access. Complication and lack of accessibility are common themes with this professor, I would not recommend.

Not prepared for classes and uses outdated material Doesn't grade quickly She cares but even when doing everything asked of us our grades are low, mostly on final papers. Assignments are okay but it feels like everything is last-minute decisions. Sometimes very confusing material and she talks a lot. Little tech knowledge

She is probably the worst professor I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE HER. She lectures the entire class about nonsense, has no rubrics for you to see but then grades you off a rubric. She will talk about an assignment the entire class so we never have time for the work in class so she makes it homework.

Horrible, majority of the class she rambles then tries to squeeze in the actual lecture or material in the last 20 of class. Do ask her for help because you won't get it. She's very rude to her students when they have questions about anything regarding help. I'd rather take this class again with a different instructor, that's how bad she is.

When I tell you to never take her, I mean it. I literally had to withdraw from her class because she never taught me anything and would literally expect you to know everything. She never told you exactly what to do for your papers and then would mark you off for not knowing what to do. Please never take her, she's an awful teacher.

Incredibly rude to all students. The way she talks to people should not be allowed. She is not organized at all. She literally does not teach anything. I can sit in this class and genuinely try to pay attention and still not understand a word she is saying. Oh and don't be absent because she's not giving any grace for ANY reason.

This is the worst professor I have ever had. She rambles the whole class and leaves barely any time to properly explain our assignments. She has no right to be such a tough grader when she is always unprepared. Also, she has a horrible attitude and is rude to students for asking questions. This class was beyond frustrating.

She's a Tough Grader, especially if your paper isn't written in her specific style. She doesn't give clear instructions on assignments and doesn't give anywhere near enough help when you ask questions on those assignments.

If you can avoid her, do. She has a limited grasp of technology and extends absolutely no grace. Once, watched her spend 35 minutes trying to get into her own email. Uses rubrics to grade but doesn't provide before assignments are due. Not prepared and talked through every class without any regard for actual instruction. She shit-talks students.

Does not know how to communicate. I went to her office hours and she would begin to yell and point in my face. I said something about it and she called it “gesturing”. Long story short, pick another professor.

Terrible professor and human being. Had to drop her class while my parent was hospitalized as she says family members being in the hospital is no excuse to miss class.Said chronically ill students should reconsider being in college if their illness gets in the way of attendance.Never had time in class for work because she would NEVER stop rambling.

Suzzane Smith is easily the worst professor that I have had. She has mastered the ability to talk and not say a single thing. Every assignment is poorly explained, guidelines are not given out, no feedback on drafts, and grades based on her own narrow views which she does not explain. Terrible professor. Avoid if possible.

Nonstop rambles. I went to my doctor and told them I couldn't figure out if I had ADHD or if it's possible to be that bored and unfocused in class. It's not helpful rambling. She makes notes, brings them to class, and reads them off.

I struggled really bad in her class. When she would give assignments and explained them she would drag it on and confuse everyone. She's very nice she was a stickler about the very littlest thing and was just too much. I've never had an issue with a class like I have with her.

Suzanne was the rudest professor I have ever encountered. She grades work extremely slowly, which makes it super difficult to improve it for the final deadline. Her grading is very harsh. She said to me once, 'Good grief, are you even trying?' Worst professor I have ever had, do not take her class.

Comp II with this professor was rough. She posts assignments on Mondays but continues to add more throughout the week, which is hard to keep track of. She is very disorganized in her assignment expectations and postings. She is a super tough grader. Everything we did had to do with food science research.

she called me the n word in class, and farted non-stop, I would kindly recommend that you do NOT take Suzanne smith's class!

Worst professor ever!!! She is a TERRIBLE grader and not understanding. I got a F on my essay and one thing she said that my essay should not be in mla format but in her direction it said the essay should be in mla format. She does not give you a rubric on how she is grading the essay. Her direction is so confusing, no one will understand.

Just awful. I don't even have one good thing to say about her or the class. Literally took this class last year and still thinking about how awful it truly was

I cannot understand how this professor ended up here to teach freshman english composition. Half the class drops the class a couple weeks in, and if you are one of the unfortunate people who did not drop, you will NOT get an A. No matter how smart, or nice you think you are, you won't succeed here. She grades horribly, and if you miss class, donzo.

This is not a teacher for online classes. Too much information all over the place, too many messages and emails. Conflicting and confusing information. This not a class for people who work or have any form of responsibility or other class taking with this class.
