If you do the work, which really isnt anything and pay attention in class, take good notes, not just what is writen on the board, it is super easy and she is really nice

She is very helpful and very nice. In terms of the tests, go to class whenever syllabus says lectures, take good notes. As far as speeches, pretty easy if guidelines are followed. She is ver nice and always willing to help you.

Very Helpful, very clear, very knowledgeable. She knows what she's talking about, and knows how to teach. Pay attention during lectures, and you'll understand the class easily.

She's very nice, cool to chat with. There is TONS of reading the first month or so, but once over that hump, that class can be rather fun. We get to work with others much of the time, which is a great way to get to know others.

I thought it was a great class! She was very good. Hard, but how am I supposed to learn if its super easy? I recomend her

I thought she was a wonderful teacher! The environment was very relaxed which made it tollerable to speak in front of a bunch of people. She doesnt show any personal opinion to the topics, she just listens and grades respectfully

This was my first online class, and I was a little intimidated by the subject matter, but this instructor made it great! I learned alot, and don't feel stupid for asking questions. Some gave her a hard time re;the crash, but that wasn't her fault! She seems more than fair, and very intelligent!

S. Uhl was awsome! I had her for an online comm. 108 class and it was sooooooo easy. All of the test are done online so you don't have to go in to the learningcenter to take them. The work load was light and I would take her again

she was a good perfessor and funny. i enjoyed her class because she made it interesting.

I took Dr. Uhl for Public Speaking. She made the classroom environment really relaxed. She really loves what she does and you can tell when shes teaching you. I definitely recommend her to everyone out there!

AMAZING professor! Makes the class instantly comfortable. She's super funny and great at her job. You can really tell she loves what she does. She's actually made me consider changing my major to communications and become a communication professor like her. :) It's a required class that nobody wants to take but you'll be glad to take it with her.

I love Suzanne, and i want to take more comm classes just to have her as a prof again. she is so socialable and shares her own stories to relate to the topics. she is a wonderful teacher and doesn't act superior. she encourages anyone to add in to her lectures whenever they feel they need to say something, and she is always up for a laugh!

Dr. Uhl was awesome. She was fun and interesting. She treated the class like they were real people, not students. She had a great sense of humor. I recommend her for sure! :)

Great teacher, but I was in her "Guinea Pig" class. Shes just began teaching IcC in person, not online. LOTS OF TEXTBOOK READING. And her lecture notes were not useful; they were outlines of the chapters. Her next class should be better though. She's nice, sweet, passionate, hard, and I would say probably better than most prof. out there. Take her.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome teacher! Her class really makes you think..I have taken her for public speaking as well as intercultural and I def. wnat to take her again. Class is always intresting(makes students interact) She is open to opinions and communicating.Very comftorable to talk too. Offers ALOT of extra credit!

She is really nice and really awesome! If you do the reading, then you will do well on her quizes. Although her tests are a combination of notes and reading. And you have to decipher what is important in her lectures. She makes her classes really fun!!!

Awesome Teacher. She definitely makes you work for your grade but you really learn a lot. She really helps you ease into speakin infront of a crowd! GREAT TEACHER!

Suzanne is an amazing teacher. She helps you if your scared to present your speach she's fun understandable and great to learn from! If you ever need a communications class take her she's an amazing teacher!!

Dr.Uhl was amazing! she is really understanding. I tore my acl and couldnt come to class for a few weeks she told me only to come on speech days. If your looking to just slid by dont take her, but if your looking to learn take her!! her mid-term/ final were hard but other then that the class was great! READ THE BOOK!

The online class was great, i did enjoy it. I was able to cram for the night before and take quizes and still did great on final and paper got an A

Suzanne Uhl (pronounced Yule!) is an engaging professor who has obviously mastered the art of Communication. She's the kind of teacher you can stay after class and talk to even if you don't have a question. Her class syllabus is clear and she reviews textbook info well. Awesome teacher, I did NOT want to take speech, but she makes it worth it :)

Great speech teacher. Expects alot but for good reason. She is very encouraging and often funny! Take her! You will be a better speaker, you won't regret it! Just show up & do the work, that simple!!!

Dr. Uhl is a perfect teacher! She is crystal clear about what she expects. You have a handful of speeches and 2 tests. No homework. Just put some effort into your speeches and follow her guidelines and it's cake!

She was one of the best teachers Ive ever had! I was kinda nervous to do public speaking as it is a dreaded class for most students but she really made us all feel comfortable. Everyone in the class became really close and she was extremly helpful and gave good feedback to improve.Great Professor, would definitely take again.

Nice, patient woman who really knows her stuff. Not an easy class so I don't recommend her if you want an easy process with public speaking. Lots of work but you'll learn a lot.

This class was easy if you have a lot of time. There is a lot of busy work and weekly quizzes. As long as you have the time to apply yourself then you will do well. Professor Uhl is very helpful and certainly knows a lot about her area of study.

AWESOME TEACHER, ONLY CLASS WHERE EVERY1 TALKED TO EACH OTHER BECAUSE OF HER CLASS EXERCISE. MADE IT EASY TO GET IN FRONT OF EVERY1.I THINK THIS WAS MY FAV CLASS YET AND I HAE TAKEN 20 HERE.

Dr. Uhl is amazing. I transferred from MSJC last year and looking back I am so lucky to have gotten her! I took her for 3 classes, and she made me change my major to comm! She is so engaging, passionate and really cares about her students. Miss her!

Dr. Uhl was one of my favorite teachers this semester. She was very funny, and kept the classroom positive. For being one of the feared courses to take, she made it quite easy. Just make sure you do all the work, and you'll do fine! :)

Awesome teacher. Took 2 classes. Do the work and youll earn the grade. Took her for comm 100 and intercultural comm. Would take her again. Tests on lectures amd book. Shes easy to talk to and helps out when asked. Been teaching for over 20 yrs, she knows what shes talking about!

Very helpfull she will meet you prior and tell you how to fix any paper almost a guarnteed A if you just take the 5 min. to meet her prior to a paper due. Only 2 tests and they are based out of book. she is funny and class is not boring. scary class made not so bad. highly recommend.

I took Professor Uhl's intercultural communication class online and really enjoyed it. She has a great sense of humor and is clear about her expectations. Timed tests and quizzes and a big paper based on a field trip. Make sure you read the text and the notes she posted and follow directions and you"ll do great! I recommend her!

By far one of the best professors I've had at MSJC. She is extremely knowlegable and understands the students' fear of public speaking! Only 2 tests and a handful of speeches. It's a dreaded class that she makes not bad at all! Forces you to talk with peers, so I made some good friends! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This class is what you make it! Public speaking is always going to be challenging but Uhl makes you feel comfortable in class and allows you too meet your peers which makes speaking in front of them not seem so difficult! i would recommend this class to others.

She is amazing. At first the class seemed nerve wracking but give it a few days because she really makes you feel apart of the class. Yes, speeches and going up will always be nerve wracking but when the professor makes you feel welcomed, it's all worth it. :) I would take her again

Awesome teacher. I had her for impersonal comm at Citrus and I loved her. Class seems hard at first but isn't at all. Not a lot of work and what is is worth a lot of points so don't screw it up. Tests are really easy just make sure to study for what she says will be an essay! She's a wonderful woman!

Definitely much harder than I anticipated. She gives a lot of homework as well as class projects. Intersting course but I dont think I got as much out of it as I could have.

Really good teacher for public speaking! She's a fair grader and you get the grade you worked for.

Definitely one of the best professors ever! Se is very nice, patient and understanding! You don't get too many of those in college. If you need to take a communications course do take her. She doesn't give too much homework. Would take her again.

Dr. Uhl is such an awesome professor! Her lectures consist of interaction, which always keeps the class interesting. She does give quizzes every week but they are fairly easy as long as you look at the book. She pretty straight forward and is very knowledgeable. This is the second time I take one of her classes. You will love her :)

Great Professor! Had a lot of anxiety about public speaking. Do the work, it's very easy to do well. She makes lectures interesting. She gives guidance about midterms & gave the class a 4pg study guide for the final exam. Definitely recommend her for any communication course. Wish I was a communications major to take more of her classes. Very clear

Dr Uhl is seriously amazing!!! She was by far my favorite teacher this semester. She cares about her students, lets you speak on whatever you want, and doesnt take roll after like the 3rd week! She is super clear and helpful if need be. If you get her class for speech 101, her speeches/outlines are super easy and fun. Do not be afraid!!!

You want to take Dr. Uhl's class, she is awesome! No need to say anything else, her class was great! Take this class for your culture class requirement, I highly recommend it!!!

She is wonderful, knowledgable, and caring. I took an online hybrid class which was the most tedious class I have ever completed. Weekly quizzes, assignments, discussion boards, and short essay questions. Lots of reading, busywork, and group projects. If u can't take the time to do about 4-6 hrs of hw a week, do not take this class. Great prof tho!

All the positive reviews are dead on. amazing teacher. I was dreading this class but she made it a very positive experience. I put it a lot of effort and even though I'm not a naturally great speaker, I did very well. Had to miss one of the speeches but still managed to get a B because I got As on all the others.

Dr. Uhl is AWESOME! She is very educated and knows her stuff! Fun class, however there are many in-class group assignments and homework assignments every week as well as a weekly online quiz. The quizzes can be tough. Show up and do all the work and you will be fine. Super nice lady, and always happy. I loved her personal stories that she shares.

Dr. Uhl is amazing!!!! Her classes were never boring. I really enjoyed listening to the lectures, she personalized them. The class participation was fun and getting involved was even more fun. There was a group project, which I was dreading, but she made it fair and made sure those who did more for the group were recognized.

Before taking Dr. Uhl's culture class I took her public speaking course. So I knew what she was like. However, this online short term class was very challenging. Lots of homework and 1 long paper that you have to write. You also have to go to a culture event for the paper which I did not like. The paper was the worst. She is helpful. Do take her!!

I really did like Suzanne, however her style of teaching was a bit scattered for me because she would abbreviate all of the notes on the bored (ex. nonverbal communication- nvc). All of the abbreviations lost me. BUT I would encourage taking one of her classes because she's a phenomonal professor and I learned a lot from her. She makes things fun!

Professor Uhl was awesome! I took her 8 week class. It was a lot of work but it wasn't hard work. She's always willing to help you if you need it. She really tries to make sure every student takes something away from the class. You won't regret taking 103, you'll learn a lot about yourself and others.

As long as you read and do the work on time you will pass. The test were very easy as long as you read. The discussion boards are worth the points so make to do them. The extra credit at the end will help make up points that you missed.

Suzanne has been a great professor this semester. I have learned more in her 2 classes than in any other class. If you like to participate and learn IN CLASS, this is a professor for you. Very kind and understanding, while being tough and expecting the best out of you. Come ready to learn with an open mind and you will come out a better person.

I took the six week summer school online class which was A LOT of work crammed into a short time, but she pulled it off. She really cares about students and talks to you more like a friend than a student.

Professor Uhl is one of the best professor I've had at MSJC. I don't normally write reviews but I think everyone should take her. Her lectures are very interesting. Her class is fairly easy as long as you do the weekly online quizzes (which are easy if you have the book) and do the papers based on the rubric given before hand and you'll get an A.

I loved her and learned A LOT.

Dr. Uhl is the best teacher I have taken at MSJC. She is succinct, personable, prompt, and challenging. The class is HARD. She makes you want to learn it though. If you need another Comm class... highly recommend.

Dr. Uhl is amazing. I took an online accelerated class and I definitely had to work for an A. She goes over a lot of material and the class is very beneficial in everyday experiences. Overall, I enjoyed the class and would recommend anyone to take it.

Shes awesome! She isnt SUPER textbook heavy but its slightly important for tests.

Dr. Uhl is a great professor. Very responsive, gives good & helpful feedback & it shows that she truly enjoys what she does. My course was online so obviously participation is necessary. This was a short course, which means lots of hw each week. I read every bit of the textbook so I didn't find it too difficult, so if you're not reading, it may be!

She is really sweet and she can be understanding. 5 Speeches was not a lot in my opinion, there is some busy work which is annoying and you will heavily rely on the book for quizzes, but quizzes are done online. Overall, the class was easy, she was not a harsh grader at all, the final speech is the hardest at 7 minutes and 3 notecards don't panic!

She has really good stories, she doesn't lecture very often but she isn't a harsh grader either. You will be reading a lot and you have 3 months to complete 17 quizzes on your own time. She makes this class really easy, one thing you will come to hate is impromptus, but there are not many of them. Make sure you are there for your speech day.

She made my first semester amazing! Great personality, supportive of her students. Recommend you show up everyday bc that counts for participation. Quizzes are easy if you read material. Rare extra credit so take advantage.

I loved professor Uhl! She is very good at what she does and she genuinely wants you to succeed. She is willing to work with you if you are struggling. Definitely not a class that you would want to skip. Quizzes and homework is easy as long as you read. I would highly recommend her!

Seems to really know her material and care about her students. Passionate about what she does, and has a gift for showing students other perspectives.

This class is really what you make of it. I took the hybrid Public Speaking class (Com100) with her and it was pretty easy, but I personally don't mind public speaking. She's really easy to communicate with and clearly loves what she does. The online work is a breeze, speeches vary on difficulty. Highly recommend her, she's great!

I was so scared of public speaking and by the time the class was over my nervousness of speaking to a large group of people have vanished. I think that the overall grading is quite confusing but it's ok.

Dr. Uhl is a good teacher and loved her short lectures that were on point. The problem was that she is a tough grader. She knocks off points for discussions even one point at times so make sure you completing all of that. There are weekly quizzes from the textbook very easy.

She just seems to really care. I actually felt bad for her when the pandemic hit because she seemed like she knew we weren't getting the experience we need when it comes to public speaking. That said she was a great and caring teacher.

I have taken Dr. Uhl for comm 103 and 108, and love her. She shows that she really cares about your education and I enjoy her video lectures; nice change of pace than most other online courses. Will definately take another course with her!

She cars about her students so much! Shes so kind and understanding. Shes a tough grader but will help you succeed. She lets you do make up speeches so that will help your grade if you are unable to attend class. You get a type of speech and get anywhere from 1 - 4 weeks to prepare depending on a random draw.

I highly recommend her class to you if you're looking for something that's pretty straightforward and not too hard. I took a fast track class so it was double the workload which felt like a lot at times but it was still definitely doable. She's clear on what she expects on her work. She was also a very nice, genuine, and caring person :)

I really enjoyed Professors Uhl's class. She does great lectures. Fun and spunky. Gives great feedback. What I do think this class could work on would be the quizes. I wish that the quizes were based on the lectures and not the textbook. I found the quizes to be difficult and I would almost always run out of time and start to panic.

One of the kindest professors I've had so far, she cares and understands and is willing to help in any way she can. In my experience her grading has been completely fair without being too tough and gives good honest feedback. She's also funny and easygoing and it's easy to talk to her. I highly recommend :)

This is my second time taking a communications class at this college and I am so happy I retook it with Professor Uhl. She is such a great professor and you can tell that she really cares about the students and helping them understand what they are learning and she knows how to keep the class interested. Overall 10/10 experience, I recommend!!

Probably the best professor I've had yet! I've always dreaded speaking in front of an audience but she was always very uplifting. She's a little tough on grading but her feedback helped me better improve my next speech. Also when you are speaking to the class she's very patient with timing and other mistakes.

For a speech class, it was much easier than I expected. Professor Uhl made the speeches much less daunting and helped us through each one very well. The content was interesting and fun and her lectures were always very informative and interesting. If you have to take a class as scary as speech, I can't recommend taking her enough.

she was a cool teacher her grading is fair and reasonably, attendance is mandatory didnt show up a couple of times and grade dropped 4 percent

Very supportive, the content was very easy to digest with her as the professor. Helps that she's an expert public speaker herself.
