She was one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She does not care if you fail or pass and she also does not know how to teach. She just does problems on the board her way and she expects you to get it. She is also very rude when she talks to you.
I am by no means a math aficionado, but I have never struggled the way I did during my time with this professor. She tends to go through two lessons in one day, and as a previous reviewer stated, she will break down a handful of problems and then expect the students to understand. Also, she often struggles with answering questions students ask.
Out of all my professors this semester, she has been the worst. She just writes problems on the bored and expects you to understand what is going on. She talks quietly so you can barely hear her and is not sympathetic at all. I recommend not taking this professor unless you have to.
She is by no means a great professor, but if you do your part you will likely pass. Homework due every class, but it is all online and you can do it as many times to get the grade u want. Drops lowest test grade, Practice tests can be done as many times as needed and they count as a quiz grade. Hard to understand her, its her way or the highway.
She is very caring, and I honestly don't understand the hate. She cares about us, and you do get used to her soft spoken voice over time. The final does replace the lowest test grade. I recommend this professor.
Lectures aren't amazing, but she really cares that you succeed. If you're willing to put in the work, the class is manageable. Don't be fooled by these other harsh ratings
As long as you do the homework, practice quizzes, and practice tests online, you should definitely pass the class. Her actual tests are very similar to the practice tests. She is very soft spoken and does problems on the white board. It's very repetitive so it's hard to pay attention to. She also replaces your lowest test grade with the final.
Caring. She's very quiet and soft spoken. Do the homework, quizzes, and tests online and you will pass. She does lots of problems on the white board. I actually fell asleep and missed one of the tests, but I was honest with her and told her what happened and she let me retake it outside of class. Replaces lowest test grade with final grade.
Can be a little boring sometimes but if you pay attention and follow along with the homework she gives every day, then you'll be fine. Her tests are 20 questions and very similar to the practice quizzes and tests she gives before hand. If I had to take this again, I'd pick her no doubt.
She was probably the sweetest professor I have ever had. She really cares about her students. Her lectures are a little on the boring side because she only does example problems on the board, and sometimes it can be hard to follow her accent. I mostly taught myself, but I still believe that she was a good enough professor to take again
She's a very nice teacher, and she's always available to help during her office hours. Although I'm not very good at precal, the online homework is very helpful. The tests are extremely similar to the practice tests, so make sure to complete them. Drops lowest test score. Overall a good class even though I'm not very fond of math.
Very nice, but quiet teacher. She knows her material and does and explain problems during class. Her tests are very easy and the practice tests are similar to the tests. 4 Tests and she drops the lowest. You'll learn from mymathlab hw and practice test very easily. Class is really easy for anyone that isnt good at math as long as you do the work.
Dr. Popovych knows her stuff. She is a helpful and sweet lady, albeit a little boring in class. That being said, when she does crack a joke, it's unexpected enough to be hilarious. You may have to teach yourself a bit, but I would take this class again.
Her accent is hard to hear through sometimes and she has a very soft voice, so if you take it sit in the front of the room. If you're good at math, this class will be a breeze for you. If not, MyMathLab is going to be your new best friend because it teaches you the material better than she does.
Professor Popovych is a very nice lady and she actually cares about her students. If you show up to class and go to her office hours it shows her that you care about her class. She gives out practice tests a few days before the tests and they are basically formatted the same. Make sure to do homework it's an easy way to keep your grade up.
You have to teach yourself a lot with mymathlab, but if you're good at math you should be fine. Tests are almost identical to practice tests, so they are not too difficult.
She will demonstrate how to do the problem correctly once... unless you ask for another... she'll publicly scold you for not paying attention the first time, but will do a second. All business, no time for clowns so don't try. I really liked it bc it's math and there's no need for excessive "like me" teaching. PRACTICE + do the hmwk get an A.
She's really sweet and cares about you and your grades, but you need to be a natural at math to get a good grade. If you struggle do NOT take her class because she expects you to learn how to do the material online and then come to class to ask questions. I tried really hard and ended with a C-
She is very caring and drops the lowest test and quiz grade, or at least she did for our class. Quiz and Tests are just like the MyMathLab practice ones. Her lectures aren't always the most helpful, but, she is willing to go more in-depth upon request. Attendance not mandatory but she pushes it, as usual.
Lots and lots of homework. She drops lowest test grade. Get ready to teach yourself. She does not teach at all. I sat in the second row and still could barely hear her. Going to class is almost pointless because she does not teach at all. Study guides are pretty similar to tests.
Like all the other reviews youll have to trach yourself she gives you homework then the next day exsplains. Test are just like the study guide. Definitely dont take this class especially if you struggle with mat already this is not the easy class you were hoping for when taking this class.
The class is easy if you understand math well. Lots of homework, but the homework and practice tests are just like the exams. She is very nice and understanding and you can tell she wants you to pass.
Professor Popovych has an accent which at times can be hard to understand. I went through public school in Cobb County and some of her methods for solving were foreign to me. She doesn't care how you get your answer as long as you get the correct one and show your work which is nice. If you keep a 92 test average you get to exempt her final.
She is the most caring, kind professor I've ever had. It is easy to get the grades because of the mymathlab infinite chances to solve the problems. She really cares students and she try to listen every student to solve well. The only thing bad about math course is to pay over 100 dollars for mymathlab.
She grades fairly, and gives partial credit on some questions on tests/quizzes. This class will require you to do your homework (graded) & sometimes even study on your own. The practice tests are similar to the actual tests, so always take them (& make sure you take them until you get that 100). If you need help, ask. Some quizzes arent announced
This class consists of lots of homework and occasionally pop quizzes. She is very quiet even in the front it is hard to hear her teach and it was very hard to follow her teaching sometimes. Unless you want to teach yourself I dont suggest taking this class.
A very quiet lady, her lectures are boring and can be hard at times to follow. Most of your learning will be done out of class thru tutoring. She isnt mean and grades tests very fast, overall not the worst but not the best
Unless you are able to teach yourself or are prepared to spend time in tutoring, do not take this class. I never paid attention in class because it was mainly going over homework questions and starting the lesson. It felt like an online class. I did not learn anything from her. Luckily, I'm good at math, so I did well, but otherwise it'd be hard.
If you struggle with math, avoid her. It will basically become an online class, as you got to teach yourself the subject. Attendance is mandatory, I just went to class for the grade. Did not learn a thing from her. With that said, if math is your thing you will be fine.
I thought that i had a horrible math teacher before i had her. She most definitely takes the cake. I came into her office one day to discuss if i needed to drop the class, and she chewed me out like my mother about doing work on ALEKS. Also, she DOES NOT LECTURE. Even if you are in a "lecture style class", she teaches it like an online course.
She is a very nice and kind teacher. She talks very soft and can be hard to understand. She also does not explain material very well, get ready to get tutoring or meet during office hours. All homework and practice tests are online, but actual tests are in class.
Professor Popovych is probably one of the most caring and genuine instructors I've had at KSU. She aims to see her students succeed not just by passing her class, but getting all As and Bs. Lots of online work and assignments, but adds up to quite the cushion if you tank an assignment or exam. Extra credit opportunities too!!
By far worst professor I have ever had.
Ms. Popovych is a very kind teacher (more like a vague guide) and cares about your success. Everything in this class is online besides tests and a few random participation worksheets. All of the tests are in class but the massive amounts of hw is online. If you struggle with math do not take her. You will literally teach yourself around 250 topics
She is one of the kindest professors that you will have. Her class is hard and has lots of homework but she will work with you. She genuinely wants all of her students to succeed. She is soft spoken but when she is explaining concepts 1 on 1 she is very helpful.
Her class was hard for me because I have never been good at math. She has an accent and talks softly. She is very nice though and IF YOU ASK HER she will help. She has accessible office hours and she will do her best to help. Do not take this class if you struggle in math. She's misunderstood. People who did poorly didn't ask her for help.
I had her for college trig and i ended the class with a 99. I took it in high school and did really well in there as well but its not a hard class. if you do all the homework and study and go to review session, whether you need them or not, you will pass. she is super nice and overall the class will be one of the easiest classes you will ever take!
Get ready for homework every week, a participation quiz almost every class, and tons of youtube videos. You'll be okay if you're really good at math but if you struggle the slightest bit then I would not recommend this teacher for you.
Professor Popovych is a really nice lady. She grades almost everything through ALEKS so it does sort of feel like an online class, but she's always willing to help if you ask for it. She gives extra points on tests if you show your work. If you're not comfortable talking to your professor or going to office hours stay away.
I took this professor for math 1111 and she is not very good at explaining things. If you dont already get the concept a little bit and ask for help good luck understanding. This is basically an online class and Aleks is the key to passing. On test she does give partial credit so your grade could increase but overall take at your own risk.
Get ready for A LOTTTTTTT of homework and I advise you to not get behind on the homework because its hard to get back on track if you miss a little bit of it.
She is very quiet, and isnt clear at all. I dont think I learned anything by her. I had to teach myself the whole semester. She wasnt any help when you ask for help.
I should have just taken this course completely online since that was basically what happened all semester. Her teaching assistants were more helpful than her, unfortunately.
She's very soft spoken and expect you to use her methods of finding the answer than your own. You will have homework on ALEKS every week, worksheets and random Test Knowledge Check. Your test will be online, however, she want you to show your work and if you got the work right on paper, you get half a credit. Very nice lady, just confusing.
Everything is practically online (hw and tests). A few worksheets aren't but they are graded for participation. The tests are not that hard, but unless you remember everything about algebra, you'll probably have to study. She is really sweet, but is really quiet and has a heavy accent so you'll probably be teaching yourself a lot.
Had I known this class was mostly online instead of 100% in the classroom (like it claimed) I would not have chosen a different class. Professor relies solely on an online software to grade, generate tests, provide homework, and basically teach you as well. Easy A or B, but save yourself the headache if you actually want in-person lectures.
if You are not a strong math student, I wouldnt take this class, her voice is impossible to hear and her lectures are confusing leading you to self teach the entire course. This class is 96% aleks so be prepared to dedicate a lot of your tome to this website. If you an independent, strong math student this class might me for you.
Take this prof. If you can!! I got a 100 on all of her tests including the final because she gives great resources including the study guide that is exactly like the test! I recommend her!!!! The content is difficult but if u work hard you can get a great grade overall.
Im good at math so this class was very easy but the whole class is on ALEKS she works very fast and its hard to keep up . i would not recommend her if you struggle at math. the tests are exactly like the study guide and she gives partial credit for showing work. attendance is part of your grade so you have to go
She genuinely cares about your success, and always offers to help if you dont understand. Shes very soft spoken and works fast, so you might have a little trouble keeping up, so youll have to spend some time studying outside of class. She also gives partial credit on tests and lets you use a notecard!
Prof. P is a very nice woman and makes sure the students understand the material. 90% of the work is on ALEKS, so if you like that then this is your class. She does actually teach unlike other professors, just make sure you give input so she can help you. I personally would take her again.
Does everything through Aleks which is all laid out and clear in what you have to do but the work load is intense when it comes to homework. Gives opportunities to pass so if your struggling you can always talk to her.
Online course. Most of the hw, tests, and quizzes you'll receive are from ALEKS. The homework can be intense and a lot, especially if you can't seem to understand certain topics in ALEKS. Her lectures can be very boring, but if you don't understand math that well then I suggest you pay attention. She does have attendance activities some days too.
Professor Popovych's lectures are very boring, but if you pay attention you'll do fine. She uses Alek for everything and provides practice tests that are very similar to the actual exams. She answers emails quickly and is available for meetings if you struggle. If you have a hard time with math I wouldn't recommend taking this professor. Very nice
Professor Popovych is super nice and responds quickly to emails. Her lectures can get a little boring sometimes but they can be super helpful if you're confused with a certain subject. She uses ALEKS for most of the class and her practice exams/study guides help out a lot!
Took this class fully online. 85% of the class is done through Aleks which worked well with my learning style (teach yourself through practice problems). Most of the math in this class I learned in highschool. She drops the lowest grades. It was an easy A for me.
Professor Popovych is such a sweetheart. Her lectures are quite long, somewhat boring, and hard to follow. However the homework and study guides she does on Aleks absolutely prepare you for each exam. I did most of my learning simply from the Aleks homework and ended up getting an A in the class. Shes really chill, I recommend taking her
DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU'RE BAD AT MATH. SHE USES ALEKS AND HONESITLY IT IS THE WORST THING EVER. NO MUTIPLE CHOICE, BARELY GIVES US TIME ON ASSIGNMENTS, SHE IS NICE THOUGH LOL BUT DONT TAKE HER
Took as a synchronous online class. Pretty much everything is in ALEKS: homework, study guides. I learned all the material through ALEKS. Graded on participation in class activities, so make sure to show up to class even if it's online. There are also pop quizzes in ALEKS, but she lets you retake them as many times as you want after class ends.
Do not take this professor at all costs, unless youre good at handling a large amount of math and enjoy it. She makes the class 90% online with a frustrating program called ALEKS. The work load is intense, especially early in the semester, you will likely end up self-teaching most of it. Professor Popovych is nice though, good person bad teacher.
I absolutely loved her! She assigns a good amount of stuff such as activities, quizzes, and worksheets. But it's for your own good to learn the material. If you show you care and participate you should be fine! If you actually like math, take her, it is not an easy A.
I really enjoyed having her for math, I tend to struggle with math, but she was always willing to assist me anytime I needed help even outside of class. She genuinely cares for her students and participation in class makes her happy.
I've taken two classes with her, both were very similar in style. She utilizes ALEKS, which is a great math teaching program that gives detailed explanations. About 90% of your work will be on ALEKS (Tests, HW, Study Guides, etc.). If you don't think you can kind of teach yourself, don't take the class. Otherwise, she's a great choice for an easy A
If you are not good at math like myself, I would not take this class. It was a miracle I got a B- in this class honestly. THE TESTS ARE LOCKDOWN BROWSER WITH A CAMERA. The class is through program called ALEKS. Which I hated with a passion, it honestly was hard, you cant bs this class. I honestly pass because the Smart center tutoring helped me.
Professor Popovych is overall a great instructor. As a student who has never been too proficient in Algebra(or any math for that matter), she was the ideal professor. This is a work heavy course, and most work is through ALEKS, including tests. She is a fair grader and gives numerous opportunities for help sessions. She was a great instructor!
I liked this class and the professor! She is super nice and willing to help if you show you care. She gave us many extra credit opportunities which helped me maintain an A in the class. All the homework is done through Aleks and the study guides are similar to the exams so there is no way you can not pass the class.
Class done on Aleks but tests are done in person. She didnt allow calculators or notes. Only a single index card as a cheat sheet for a test that covers 4 lessons. Otherwise the class is smooth sailing definitely easier to take as an online class vs. on campus
She is a very nice and helpful teacher! Her lectures are helpful and utilizes ALEKS throughout the course. If you can't entirely understand her lectures, ALEKS helps and explains topics a bit more thoroughly. Her explanations are clear and her exams were pretty simple. Don't just rely on her lectures! If you want to do good, practice the topics!
You MUST attend class to pass. She is extremely caring and dedicated to teaching. There are MANY opportunities for extra credit as well. There is lots of homework that is very beneficial as practice makes perfect.
She really cares for her students. I took notice of how she was willing to accommodate to her students in order for them to understand the materials thoroughly and gives great feedback. She drops about 4 of your lowest scores at the end of the semester. As long as you complete your ALEKS and do the practice study guide, you're like her lectures.
She's very caring and very lenient with her students. I would definitely take her again because she was so nice and willing to let you make up assignments.
Worst teacher I've probably had my entire life. My friends taking the same course with another teacher would have 1 assignment per week but with ms Popovych I'd have 3-4 weekly assignments.
Im usually really good at math but this professor made me realize how important the teacher is for your success in the class. Ive already taken precal, but I had to take this class for a certain credit, and I depended solely on ALEKS for everything Ive learned. The way she lectures is just very unclear and unproductive. Lots of classwork.
She is super nice but she only reads from the power points. 10/10 do not recommend
If you have a basic understanding of pre-calculus, this class may be a breeze for you. Popovych was very caring and her lectures were long but clear. The course is built upon Aleks and I found that helpful at times. She does assign classwork and takes attendance! If you come to class and practice with Aleks, you will do great!
she is super caring if you study you will be ok
Mrs. Popovych may be the best professor I've ever had. She teaches well and is engaging; while the lectures tended to be a bit boring, she livened them with group work and questions to be answered. She was very understanding about me missing class for personal reasons and was very kind. If you don't plan to put in any effort, don't take her!
im telling you guys, do not take this professor unless you already know alot about pre-calc, or full on good at math. She is not a good professor, she teaches in class but moves way to fast and everything is on aleks. Everything is on aleks even grades, that's really her method of teaching. horrible Take a different teacher trust me.
The course is fairly easy, but the lectures are very boring. She's available a lot and is willing to help out the students that need help. If you like to do homework ahead of time, she only uses Aleks, so you're able to do so. Fairly easy A
I mean she's okay. everything is on ALEKS so you mainly teach yourself. Beware though she is very very boring. The content wasn't that hard in my opinion, but she just okay.
This was the hardest course I have taken this semester. It's all PowerPoints and you have to teach yourself everything. Would not take again.
She only uses Aleks then gives test over things she didn't teach, makes pre-calc way harder than it needs to be.
She was very sweet and caring about her students, made herself available if you needed help on a certain topic. The whole course is on ALEKS, which can help in the long run. She lets you retake quizzes if you need too and there is plenty of extra credit for the course.
She is very sweet and a very caring teacher! She runs help sessions which are helpful. I wouldn't recommend taking this class if you can't learn online. Everything is graded through Aleks and a few tests have been on it too. She does give out a lot of homework but it is very helpful as well as extra credit opportunities at the end of the semester.
I would suggest this professor if you are exceptional at teaching yourself online. She uses ALEKS and her tests are similar to what is being taught there.
Popovych is very monotone and just goes off of powerpoints. The whole class is just run off of ALEKS. She grades fairly and gives credit for showing work. If you want to get an easy A and just do online stuff, take the course. Otherwise, I'd advise against it.
Look math is hard, and I personally have always been good at math so this class came easy to me. But why you should take her because she gives partial credit. She lets you redo everything for a better grade at the end of the semester and cares so much. If you are not good at math take her and you will pass.
The class felt like it was online. 90% of your learning is done on ALEKS. She seems like a nice person, but when she teaches, she is extremely monotone. It is almost impossible to pay attention during her lectures so I would usually spend my time doing ALEKS homework. She does give a lot of partial credit on tests.
Attendance isn't mandatory but there are graded in-class assignments but she posts the agenda the day prior to lecture without fail so just check that. Lots of ALEKS but the practice will get you a good grade on exams. She also gives a lot of partial credit on exams. Do all of the ALEKS work and you should get an A if you do good on exams too obv.
Really sweet professor, organized and clear with her expectations/grading. Posts everything ahead of time, including agendas. Lots of Aleks to do but it never felt excessive since it's based on what you know + is good for studying. She is very willing to offer help outside of class or explain things another way.
I wished I tried in her class. She really is a good professor, you just have to pay attention and ask her for help.
Her lectures are uninteresting. In a math class this is sometimes expected, but in previous math classes my teachers have not been this uninteresting. She gives a lot of homework in the ALEKS platform as per the math department's rules, however every module she gives a 10-question review that must be completed before you may access the homework.
2/10 teacher, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE to take her, she gives a lot of work and her lectures are boring, she gives loads of works and barely teaches what we are doing all those math teachers rely on Aleks and its awful. she doesnt teach and i DONT KNOW WHERE THEY GET THESE TEACHERS FROM
Professor Popovych uses ALEKS so if you have trouble teaching yourself most of the time, don't take her. I rated her 5 stars because she is very caring and considerate of her students. She is also organized, which honestly helped me out a lot. She posts what she'll cover in a class days before so you can see important class days beforehand.
I didn't understand how she taught and she is not the best at teaching pre-calc but she does give you partial credit on the tests and extra credit options. I never understood her lectures and I had to go to the smart center multiple times a week to understand her class. If you are good at teaching yourself of going to tutoring her class is fine.
She left me confused; I learned more from classmates. Despite using Aleks, my grades didn't improve, and her assignments were overwhelming. Juggling other classes became challenging. She also administered time-restricted paper tests, causing struggles among students. Fearing failure, I decided to withdraw. (I'll never take her again).!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shes a good teacher. She will answer ALL your questions. She does lectures in class. You have like a worksheet every week and two assignments on aleks every week. And you have about 4 test in the semester. However none of it was terribly difficult. She gives study guides before exams and lots of extra credit.
This teacher is a bad professor she laughed at me for not knowing the material and then proceeded to scold me bc I clicked the wrong answer she also called me out in front of the entire class bc I needed to take a pic of the board do not take her class if u need math do online
Although I passed this class, it was by the grace of the universe honestly. I wanted to withdraw. For those of you who do not like math, just take this online. As far as her, she was nice to me and helped me once outside of class, but her lecture material wasn't the best. Lots of HW. I was struggling bad, but ec is why I have a C.
Lectures sometimes were boring. I met with her during office hours more than once and it was very helpful. Responds to emails very quickly. Would always give me an extension on my ALEKS if I just emailed her. Lets you retake an exam and has extra credit. Most of the grades are just ALEKs so if you can keep up with that it should be an easy class.
While the course was difficult sometimes, Popovych was always there to explain it in detail during lectures. I always found said lectures informative and important. I wouldn't count Aleks being a downside during this class. She recognizes effort and work-shown sheets often contribute to grades even if small mistakes are made.
The lectures are boring cause it's math, but she explains everything really well and holds a lot of help sessions before tests in case you're still struggling. She really patient when teaching and even if you get questions wrong on tests, she gives partial credit if your work is shown, which helps out a lot. Class is also good pacing.
shes a nice professor overall but lectures are boring. attendance is mandatory, but she does review stuff on the board, which is convenient. class can easily be learned from alexs or you can do the review stuff in class. She has quizzes which are avaliable for a day or so and allow infinite retakes. Tests are like study guide on alexs. great class
speaks like a mouse i suggest you avoid if you have hearing issues. You have to teach yourself everything. Would avoid if you can.
The professor has a habit of not teaching the lessons during your class period, rather focusing on taking quizzes and reviewing old units. She'll also assign lots of homework way in advance. She won't get to the lesson that the homework focuses on and then the homework will be due. Avoid taking her
While I don't think she's a bad person she is an awful teacher. I can barely hear her and when I can she is off topic, when you ask her questions she just solves the problem without answering the question. This is a self teach class, ALEKS will be your best friend if your taking this course.
Prof. Popovych is very soft-spoken and hard to understand. Homework is done on ALEKs for a grade. The tests are online and on paper. There is not much done in class; if you want to succeed, you must be good at teaching yourself outside of class.
TERRIBLE PROFESOR. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM HER. Lots and lots of hw and lectures were just her reading over a power point for 2 hours. You can barely hear her talk and its very hard to understand. Had to drop the class.
This class was very very hard, hard to understand I don't recommend this class at all. I would have to teach myself outside of class everyday and still ended up failing. EVERYTHING WAS HARD I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS CLASS AT ALL!!!!
She is an okay teacher. Her voice is like asmr which makes many fall asleep from and not understand her. Lots of homework on Aleks. Opens quiz after class. She is nice allows us to retake one test at the end of year. Her lectures don't really make senses and are boring but it is a math class so ehh.I would not recommend if you can't teach your self
a lot of people say this class is hard, but you really just have to put effort in. Mrs. Popovych is very kind, and she will help you if you ask. I do agree I have taught myself a lot, but with all of the homework on Aleks, worksheets, extra credit, one retake of 4 tests, Id say this class isn't too bad, you just have to put effort in and study.
She seems like a nice person but as a teacher she is awful. I had never struggled in any math class before I took her. You can barely hear her speak. She just reads off a PowerPoint all class. Alot of homework on ALEKS. If you want to pass this class with her you will need to teach yourself outside of class. I would avoid taking her.
This is a self teach class. She seems nice enough, but I had to teach everything to myself. Wayyyyy too much homework, it is so easy to get behind. I would not recommend her to any who isn't driven to work at home. Homework is long and every other day. only three tests.
She barely teaches, you'll have to teach yourself most of the material. Gives a lot of homework, one missed assignment and you'll be behind. often expects you to have the homework done before its due and will even quiz you on it. Does give partial credit on tests, just have to make sure to show your work.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!!! She doesn't teach her lectures in a timely manner which leaves you to have to use Aleks example equations to figure out the homework. She also assigns the homework WEEKS in advance of the actual lesson. She doesn't speak loudly enough to hear her from the back of the classroom and has a lot of quizzes
This professor is one of the best professors I've ever had. She would make time for us to see her at her office or in the math lab. She will work with you. She is really understanding. If you have any misconceptions about the material she will scoop down to your level, tell you why that is not so and bring you up to her level. Truly amazing.
Professor Popovych is super sweet and understanding when it comes to questions you may have regarding the material. She does work out some problems student's have questions on but majority of her lectures are just her going over how to do the problem. Her voice is fairly quiet. Overall, Aleks will be your best friend in her class.
Lots of homework but good because it helps to not let one test ruin your grade. Quizzes you can go and redo at home. And 1 test retake for the semester. If you study and do the test reviews she puts on Alex you'll pass all the test because the test reviews is basically the test they are the same. Downside you'll be self teaching yourself a lot
She is a very caring professor! And very helpful if you are struggling with the homework. She also allows a notecard during tests and the exam. Responds to emails quickly. In my opinion, lectures are very informative, but it's also hard to hear her sometimes because she is soft spoken. I will most definitely take her again!
While Popovych's class can be challenging, she is willing to explain concepts thoroughly. The Aleks system is helpful for practice, and using resources like Unstuck AI alongside the lectures can make a real difference.
speaks so quietly and doesn't really teach at all if she's your only option I suggest just getting lots of tutoring and all the people giving her 5s aren't very smart THIS IS MEANT TO GRADE THEM ON THEIR TEACHING NOT HOW NICE YOU THINK THEY ARE.
She's actually quite sweet. However, I feel like I can't really learn from her. Her study guide on ALEKS wasn't similar to the content on her tests. There are four exams and a final, and they carry significant weight, so please make sure to study thoroughly.
..........
This class is not difficult. Yes, there's a lot of homework on Aleks, but it takes 30-60 minutes for each assignment and if you actually do the homework it'll pad out your grade pretty well. She gives a generous amount of extra credit and review opportunities too.
One of the best professors at KSU! Very caring! Has a great approach to making sure you understand the material. She does one on one explaining and can dumb things down greatly! I would take her class again. Expert in all mathematics and knows how to teach it. I saw bad reviews prior to taking her class and was kind of expecting it to be horrible.
If you are fine with teaching yourself I would say to take this class. I did not attend class because her teaching style was just not for me. I used the smart lab and ALEKS to learn the content. ALEKS hw which are fairly easy, quizzes (multiple attempts are allowed), and 4 tests. Final exam isn't that difficult either. She was okay.
You WILL be teaching yourself, do not take this class. I've spent most of my time teaching myself, it's exhausting.
Bad at teaching, quiet and confusing.
She's a pretty sweet person, but I think her teaching style was just not for me. She does allow time to ask questions and goes over things if you don't understand,so she does care which is nice. Random pop quizzes & classwork assignments, but they aren't worth much of your grade. ALEKS every week which sucks but is the most helpful resource.
Ok to start this off, I got docked 20 points on my exam for "too messy of work" when it was very readable/correct. Her lectures consist of her clicking through slides too fast to write complete sentences. If you have to take this class, well, you unfortunate soul, strap in and be ready to teach yourself the entire semester. I'll be praying for you.
Her teaching style is very fast-paced lectures. She does not teach well at all and gives so much homework. She does have pop quizzes as well. If you decide to leave class early, she will question you. Do not take this teacher if you want to pass.
I thought she was really nice, and I resonated with her teaching style. If you don't learn well independently, she might not be the best fit, but she answers questions clearly. As long as you keep up with the work, her class is easy to moderate. The homework is required and tougher than the tests, but it prepares you well.
