Refuses to explain the syllabus Won't review for mid terms Has horrible teaching skills Berates and calls students stupid.
She's pretty new at teaching and seems to be disorganized at times. But if you're someone who is really good at math, then this is the class for you. She expects you to know a lot of things. She doesn't give a lot of partial credit, but she does give extra credit. Homework is not graded by completion, she actually checks if you did it correctly.
She is so disorganized. She only sends out email to selected favorite students. She keeps trying to tech calc in an algebra class.
I think shes new at teaching. She is getting much better. She assigns group work that raises your grade up by many points. She basically teaches exactly from the book. If you're good at learning by doing the examples, you'll be fine. Its not hard to get an A. She is a very nice person. She even gives extra credit. The homework is from the book.
I see some negative rating here and I don't get it. She actually cares about the students and won't fail you if she see's that you're trying. Let's face it, if you're taking ALGB151, you're not good at math to begin with. The students that want to learn and are willing to listen are excelling. The ones that decide to be disruptive are failing.
It was most likely her first semester of teaching, but she definitely was there for students. Make sure to read the chapter or section before you come to class. She gives a lot of extra credit so make sure to take advantage of it. She's a very nice person and very approachable. She wants to make sure you succeed.
This was definitely her first semester teaching, she was a little disorganized, but she got it together before the midterm. She gives extra credit but does not grade on a sliding scale; show up, do the work, and try then you will pass this class. She wants you to participate and those points are easy, so take advantage of it. Liked her.
She gives group projects extra credit but does not grade on a sliding scale; show up, do the work which isn't too much and try, then you will pass this class. She wants you to participate and those points are easy, so take advantage of it. I Liked her.
Professor Mukherjee isn't the best teacher I've ever had, but she's certainly one of the nicest. She's a pretty good teacher but she does confuse herself sometimes. She gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities. She genuinely wants to help her students succeed and she's super sweet.
I've had her for Alg 2. She's nice and gives out A LOT of extra credit. She walks around to make sure every single student understands the material. You don't necessarily need the book--I've never used it since the hw is on mymathlab which has tutorials.
Professor Mukherjee is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. Basically, You have to take certain tests and group quizzes. She is always there to help. She walks around in the class and makes sure everyone gets the concept. She gives tons of extra credit. Tests are somewhat hard, but she gives study guides. Recommended.
Take her class !!!
She is the one of the best professor ever.
Not best teacher but fair grading and very nice
Would not explain the online homework until after the due date. Poor teaching skills and method. Long lectures and takes only at the end of class. Occasionally hard to understand.
Wouldn't explain the homework until after the due date. Poor teaching skills and methods. Long lectures and waits until the end of class to take attendance. She is really hard to understand and she barely helps students.
After taking her Math-151 in Spring 2016, she is a very nice teacher, who does care for her students. There are tests, group quizzes and online homework, but overall, it all comes to studying and being accountable for your academics.
Throughout being in her Math-153 class in the Fall 2016, she does care for her students and responds to emails in the right time. She does grade on online homework, qroup quizzes, and tests. The tests might be difficult but if you take the time to study for the tests, everything will be ok
Very sweet lady that cares about her students. You can ask her all kinds of questions. However, her lectures are a bit fast paced and not thorough. Also, beware on tests and quizzes, she will throw in a hard question or 2 that you probably didn't expect to be on there because it wasn't covered. On the bright side, she gives extra credit.
She is the worst math teacher I have ever encountered. She does not care about the students, she makes you feel dumb when you ask her questions. She has VERY poor teaching skills and VERY poor and unclear handwriting. I literally could not understand what she says, I had to teach myself everything we have learned. Save yourself, do not take her.
Poor teaching skills and method
She one the best math teacher because she always cares about her student and helps them to pass the class
Professor mukerjee is worst teacher i ever taken so far. she don't explain problem simple way. she teach lesson by computer slides but don't teach problems on board. Her test are hard not similar to study guide. barely few student pass her tests and quizzes. If you ask question she don't explain it well.
She is very rude teacher and doesnt care about students. Avoid taking her
everyone that is saying she gives extra credit... WRONG! we literally had only ONE and we have to wait for it to be added to our final. the tests are never the same as the study guide. the class has been so dreadul and i feel dumb just sitting in her class because of her teaching method. do not take her class! class average is very low.
Her test are really hard unless you are really good in math (half class dropped). She just yells and not explain very well. Her homework points are very low. there is three quizzes, three test. Also final exam. Everything is depend on quiz and test. poor communication with students.
Honestly, she gives so much extra credit, and is actually really sweet in the end. stick it out to the end do not drop it. She actually ends up being helpful
I took this class for stats and I was nervous because she didn't have the best rating on here but she's a pretty solid professor and a sweet lady with some funny moments. As long as you study the homework you should do fine on tests, I didn't learn much in the class itself but if you ask her a question she will try to help you understand.
Gives some extra credit and is very understanding if something unexpected pops up in your schedule. Caring and will speak to you if your having difficulties
The class itself was difficult as expected Prof Sweta allows you to meet with her during conference hours for math help. I appreciate her time and patience and I would take her again, glad I don't have to because I passed thanks to her instructional help. I give her a top rating because this class is based on input and output. What you put in..
Her test is very hard and worth a lot of points. She talks so fast and skips few steps when explaining problem. Also she don't reply to emails when you ask her in class next day she will say "i did not got any email". worst teacher
Take this class. She is tough at the beginning but makes it easy through the semester.
She posts her lecture slides on canvas. It's easy to access. Lots of examples. Attend her class you will get an A.
She gives you classwork and walk around to make sure you got the problem correct. She is there to help you.
Take this class.
She cares about her students, she walks around the classroom and makes sure you are following. If you follow her class and do your home works, you will make good grades. She even gives extra credits to make up. Students who thought they will pass without attending are the one ranting here. I will take her class again.
She is a very nice and caring teacher.
She is up front with the expectation and sets clear goal for the semester. Lots of extra credit to make up for the tests. Attend and follow and do your home work, you will get a easy A.
Tough grader
I am taking her pre calculus this summer. Her lectures are fast paced. There is lot of homework every day. Sometimes she get confused in class when solving problem.
I am not mean to professor. she is tough grader and very hard to pass class even i am hardworking student used to get b's is past math class. she expect a lot from you. Think about before taking her.
she is good teacher when it comes to communication ,she don't reply emails . Sometimes sections she goes on very fast so it is very hard for student who never learned that stuff. I will choose different teacher.
Taking her summer class math 188. it is very hard to pass her test. plus there is lot of material you have to remember. Take her only if you are really good in math.
I took her summer class and it was a lot of information. She skips through easy chapters to spend more time on harder chapters later on. The varies her speed based on how hard or easy the chapter is, and her extra credit is worth more when the chapter is a harder one. TAKE HER CLASS.
I read all the comments and I honestly think she isn't that bad of a teacher. The content that she teaches and the content of homework she gives don't correlate, but she gives group quizzes and if you ask her a question on the test she will give you the answer. She cares about everyone passing. However I would advise against taking 3 hours with her
looking at some of the comments, it really doesn't apply to her. any pop quizzes are extra credit. all the quizzes she gives are in groups. she even gave a take home quiz and a group test. she's a lot more lenient then the comments describe her. homework is just busy work. as long as you learn the material and do well on tests you'll be fine.
Professor Mukherjee does not know how to teach. No one in our class learned anything from her lecture. I always had to go to a tutour center and review with someone competent, so I could keep up with the class.
If you have another choice take it and avoid her class. WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
Mukherjee is a good professor. The class consists of daily lectures of the material. Every few weeks you'll have a quiz/exam. She uses my math lab's online system and allows retakes. With some minor studying, you'll get an A. Ignore the negative reviews, this is the class to take.
All math classes have lots of homework and her class is not an exception. Tests are not hard and they are related to homework problems. Attendance and pop quizzes are extra credit. Overall Professor Mukherjee is a very decent and lenient professor.
Highly Recommend
Just do work, you pass. Easy A bros.
She does not explain almost anything. I asked for her help and she clearly denied after which I decided to drop out because I did not want to fail.
Sweta was a very clear teacher who explained the material very well and clear for everyone to understand. She gives homework from the textbook. If you do the homework and study before the test you will get an easy A. She gives one group quiz each chapter that is easy and allows a notecard for formulas for both tests and quizzes. Pop quizzes are ec.
She was the best math professor that I could have asked for. For every exam, there was at least 5-10% of extra credit added, and the homework assignments were all due after the tests. There are around 4 group quizzes and 4 individual tests for which she gives review sheets that are very similar to the exams. I wish she taught all math classes!
Mukherjee is indeed one of the best professors I've had at Ohlone. She's very thoughtful and caring about the students. She always gives us practice tests, which are 90% similar to the actual tests. All quizzes are usually conducted in groups, which makes it way easier. Just pay attention to her lectures, and this class is a guaranteed A for you.
This has been my favorite math class at Ohlone. Professor Mukherjee is literally a gift from God. There are group quizzes and all the questions on the exams are from the practice exam. Just different numbers. I finished the class with over 100%. If you can get a spot In her class take it. I swear you won't regret it.
Prof. Mukherjee is a great professor with a reasonable amount of homework, good lectures, and her tests are easy as long as you do her review sheets. Her due dates and test dates never seem to sneak up on us either, and never any pop quizzes. I would definitely recommend her.
she is really nice and the class is easy A if you work for it, the exam and quiz aren't that hard, she also gives plenty of extra credit!
Professor Mukherjee is a sweet woman. She is caring and easy to get in touch with. Also, she can be very flexible on many things, she is there to help. The class differential equation is hard, but professor Mukherjee made it easier by giving extra credit and review sheets for every test. 100% recommended.
Professor mukherjee is the best ,she is super helpful ,caring and understanding her exams are 80% very similar to her practice exams also she does ake sure if you understood the concept and is very helpful outside class too I would love to take her again.
Best ever at Ohlone, easy A
She is the best I have ever in Ohlone, she cares about students and she is always willing to help us. Definitely recommend to take her.
She's really sweet, but the class didn't seem challenging enough to really prep us for future courses. That might be because we were online for part of the semester though. In person, we had group quizzes and tests, for which she gave us review sheets and let us have a note card with equations. For lectures, she used slideshows from the textbook.
Professor Mukherjee is one of the sweetest teachers Ive ever had. As long as youre attentive and show up to class shes willing to work with any problems you encounter. Overall, an easy A.
I really like professor Mukherjee. She is really sweet and always has patience. She always replies email very fast. She does care about her students and trying her best to help us success!
Very sweet teacher, is quick to adjust test dates and number of questions based on student feedback. Easy A if you just do the homework, but her lectures are mind-numbingly boring and not helpful (Khan Academy taught me more).
Don't fall for the attendance she claims to be extra credit. She just reads the slides and gives questions to practice. Homework, Quizzes and Exams are lengthy and hard.
She is a great professor, who answers the questions. The tests were not too hard. However, there is one thing that she goes through materials too fast that I can't even get notes down. It's the only thing I don't like the class.
Professor Mukherjee is a very easy professor. She conducts her tests on WebAssign. Her lectures are kinda boring and she gives a lot of hw. She is not strict with the grading, she's very lenient actually. Overall an easy A. I definitely recommend her to all the students.
easy A
She's a great professor! Her lectures and homework can be long but the hw helps on the quizzes/tests. She uses WebAssign for quizzes and tests and always gives practice problems beforehand which are VERY similar to the actual problems. Overall an easy A and definitely recommended
Easy A, Highly recommended
Cool class. 5 homework (so easy). 5 quizzes (so easy). 5 tests (so easy). 1 final every thing is easy and the quizzes are group quizzes. My grade is 100.59 with the Extra credit.
Cool class. 5 homework (so easy). 5 quizzes (so easy). 5 tests (so easy). 1 final every thing is easy and the quizzes are group quizzes. My grade is 100.59 with the Extra credit. By the way the class that i did take was MATH-101A but is not exist in the rating. highly recommended
This professor was super kind and if you didn't understand something, she would take the time to explain. Make sure to listen in class and follow along because she will ask some practice questions at the end. Attendance is not mandatory but she does take attendance from time to time and that is extra credit. Highly recommend!
TONS of extra credit opportunities. i got 80-90 on exams and had over a 100% overall in her class. pop quizzes are your best friend as theyre all extra credit. also participation counts as extra credit. an OK teacher, but a very easy course. she was very funny.
She gave quite a bit of hw but was flexible with the due dates. Everything is on WebAssign. She's super nice and cares about the students.
The class overall was fairly easy and fun. If you want you can reach out to the professor for additional material if youre interested in learning further concepts or for clarification. The quizzes and tests overall were easy and quite lenient as you do get multiple attempts. Just pay attention, be respectful and diligent and you should get a 100.
Professor Sweta Muhkerjee was one of the best professor ever that I had . She was so caring, respectful with her students in zoom and she was also interactive with her students in zoom. she gave us two extra credit assignments to boost your grade in the class. Also she will drop one of your lowest score in your test and regarded.

We had 4 group quizzes, 3 tests, and a final. Everything was on WebAssign and we had multiple attempts per question. Attendance and pop quizzes ended up being EC, which rly boosted my grade. Took in the summer and it was def doable. I recommend her if youre not good at math bc she is very lenient. Overall, great professor and easy A class.
Good Professor. As long as you do your homework on time and pay attention in class, you'll get an A.
Professor Mukherjee was a great professor for Calc AB. As long as you do the hw and come to class you will get an A.
Professor Sweta Muhkerjee is great. She is good at getting her points across. Everything is on Webassign, and she gave you a chapter review sheet before each test, which is very helpful. She is also very lenient, and she will extend the deadline as long as you do your homework. Definitely an easy A professor.
Professor Sweta is a very sweet teacher and it was pleasure having for calculus this semester. Her lectures were great. Theres about 4 participation quizzes and group quiz throughout the semester. I recommend talking her for calc 101A.
Prof. Sweta is by, far a great teacher. She knows her stuff and exceeded my expectations for an online math course when I am terrible at math. her lectures are decent and on PP. she assigns hw daily 10-15 questions 4 days a week. she designated time to allow for us to improve our grade and has office hours. This is my 3rd attempt and passed.
Prof. Mukherjee is nice, approachable, and sympathetic. Extra credits are given depending on the general performance of the class. Tests are very easy and time is plenty. You can submit your test ahead of time if you want to. Treat your WebAssign seriously (which are often trickier than tests ) then you would get an easy A.
It was delight to take calculus this summer semester with Professor Sweta. Three (tests, group quizzes, pop quizzes) are present. She does explain and assist you when you have queries concerning the quiz or test questions. I advise taking Professor since she does offer the extra credit, which raise your mark by about 6 percent of the overall score.
To be honest, her class is alright but the reason why I would rather not take her again may because I'm not exactly fond of having to deal with webassign. It feels like you get graded badly even if you managed to complete most of the homeworks until their due date. Besides what I mentioned now, her lecture is alright although extensive.
This class was honestly very easy, you just have to be on track with the assignment due dates as there aren't any due dates on Canvas which made the course a bit confusing, so look out for her announcements they're very important in this class. Overall she is really nice and caring Professor and is willing to give extensions too.
Although she can work on her handwriting, she is a great teacher of math. She is accessible in office hours if you need help, and most of the tests are pretty easy. She gives out a ton of homework though, but those questions help prepare you for her exams.
Her lectures are really boring because it's just the same as the textbook. Her handwriting is unreadable sometimes. The worse thing is she gives really hard questions on the tests. Sometimes it is on topics that we didn't even cover during the lecture. Take someone else.
She says test is based off hw and review sheets but then she makes the test questions 10 times harder. She doesn't curve or drop lowest test score. Her class is unreasonable and I'm someone whose pretty good at math as I've gotten As in 101A and 101B easily. All the good reviews were from people who took her online so they were able to cheat.
First time I had to put in effort to get an A in a math class at ohlone. She expects too much from her students says that test are like the homework or like her review sheets when they are nothing alike. She also grades on the correctness of your answer gives little to no partial credit for work shown.
Man, some people just aren't meant to be professors and she is one of them. Dry, long lectures and says a lot of nothing. She is too lazy to show the class how to solve difficult problems. Doesn't clearly answer questions from students and gets cranky.
The biggest thing with this professor is her lectures don't really teach anything or prepare you properly for the test.
Took her in-person summer class and I enjoyed it. Not sure what some people expected of Calculus 3 during the summer semester, but she had a reasonable schedule and followed it. She was engaging but the only complaint is the handwriting. Very helpful and caring when you are lost with your homework and gives partial credits + note cards.
The content itself is hard to understand, so don't expect an easy A. Homework is graded on completion, but it prepares you for the group quizzes and tests. Half the class didn't come to her lectures, so don't expect to be carried on the group quizzes either. If you put in the work and ask questions, you'll do fine. She also gives extra credit.
Precal with Prof Mukherjee was great. The class was set up easily and it didn't feel too heavy. Lectures were great and Webassign was easy to navigate through. I wish she taught Math 187 because I would take her in a heartbeat. Loved this class so much as a student who prefers online and steady-paced courses. I actually enjoyed learning math!
Not many good things to say about Prof Mukherjee. Horrible organization. I thought I knew the subject, but her grading made this much more difficult. In my opinion, she should never teach an online class again. I'm not sure why other ratings seem so positive; it may be due to her better in-person teaching style. AVOID ONLINE CLASS!!
Okay---Professor Mukherjee is a pretty nice person who seems to try to help her students, but she's just really bad at it. She's disorganized, makes mistakes in her own lectures, and doesn't know how to explain her process and problems. PLEASE ADVISE: if you take her, do the HW and review sheets 10x---she takes all the test questions from there!
Overall she is super sweet, although online class is a disorganized. I had already taken this course previously before college and wanted it as a good review of material, which it was. Although if I had not previously learned it I would have struggled with simply the material she provided. Overall its easy to pass, but not necessarily to learn.
WHY TF DID NO ONE TELL HERE THAT THE MIDTERMS AND FINALS R IN PERSON EVEN IN AN ONLINE CLASS!!!!!!???????????????
Literally is so disorganized and the lectures make absolutely no sense. You have to study the textbook and really spend hours trying to understand the review sheet to have any chance of getting an A. Group quizzes and tests DO NOT RESEMBLE HER LECTURES AT ALLLLLLLL. She gives pop quizzes for extra credit. Ask her questions on test day---she helps
Her lectures are hard to follow and understand. Do not simply rely on her lectures to learn, you MUST read the textbook because she leaves out crucial information in her lectures. Some information in her lectures are not expanded upon and aren't necessary. Her class is very disorganized and her grading is unclear.
DONT TROLL MIDTERMS AND FINALS!!!! OTEHR THAN THAT HER CLASS IS RLLY CHILL TBH, ITS A LOT OF SELF STUDYING BUT ITS HONESTLY NOT BAD BECUZ SHE OFFERS SO MUCH EC. IF U ARE WILLING TO WORK FOR AN A THEN IT IS SUPPER DOABLE. WITH MINIMAL EFFORT YOU WILL PASS WITH A B GURATNEED. JUST DONT NOT STUDY AND YOULL GET EASY B, AND ITS A DOABLE A!!!
put effort: can manage. learnt calc in highschool so was easy for me.sweet person but not the best Prof for people new to the concepts. Her midterm and final were off the review sheet. super easy BECAUSE I STUDIED. does easy questions in class not similar to the test.managed because Im used to being self taught. If you're not, take someone else.
rlly nice professor, jus gotta watch for midterms and ur final cuz they in person type shi. besides that. EASY A lmfao iykyk
super chill, group quizzes online, online hw, online tests, midterm and final in person. I'd take her again. don't slack on hw and problems.
Easy A as long as you do your HW. Tests are 100% similar to the HW. Lots of extra credit
The topic is interesting and difficult at the same time.I feel that although prof Sweta was very responsive via email, the video lectures from 3 years ago with poor quality, topics not fully covered review sheets with wrong answers, is not what we need to learn the subject. I think she has to reconsider to improve and renew her lectures
Very helpful professor who is always willing to answer student's questions. She provides study guides with problems similar to those on tests and exams so make sure you understand them. Although the textbook isn't required, I would recommend getting the online version for extra practice, as it helped me better understand the material.
Engaging professor, but requires active learning. Textbook is crucial, along with study tools like Unstuck AI. Exams can be tricky, so don't slack on prep. Overall manageable with effort.
She is the worst professor I have ever seen. Her teaching style is the worse and her lectures are 4 years old and they are 1 hour long 😭. What a lazy professor, she is so disorganized and her homework sucks because it is in pdf format, Myopenmath is so much easier and she should give us a practice test with 10 problems only not 42
Pretty chill class. Just a heads-up; the class was online but the midterm and final are both in person. Gives generous extra credit. Tests are def similar to the hw. Her lecture videos weren't the best ngl but as long as you watch some YouTube videos and do the hw there's no reason for you to get anything below a B in the class.
A 3.5 isn't high, but it's high for Professor Mukherjee. People take her class simply because she gives tons of EC and her tests aren't bad (because they copy the practice test or people cheat because she doesn't really care to check). But if you genuinely care about learning and building foundational calculus skills I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS.
She is a caring and supportive instructor. She gives clear instructions for homework and exams, which makes it easier to stay on track and understand expectations. I really appreciate how organized and approachable she is. Whoever moan about the course must enjoy torturing themselves.
If you want to save your GPA and grade, do not take Sweta. I have a passion for math and absolutely enjoy the subject. Professor Mukherjee's lectures and work were really messy, making it hard for me to learn the concept. Her exams were nothing like what she taught us, and she didn't care about her students at all.
Class is online but Mid term and finals are in person. Test questions are mostly from lectures practice questions. Overall manageable class.
Honestly, she's a pretty nice prof, her videos aren't too long so it's not a drag you can get through it on x2 speed. Homework is long and tedious, but she often extends the deadlines and it's due every 2-3 weeks. Tests online so fire, the only thing you need to do is weekly group quizzes and do decent on the in person midterm & final.
Muhkerjee's explanations of MATH101B concepts are shallow and grossly underpreparing for the amount of difficulty in her exams. The tutors I visited to understand the material were baffled by some of the problems she included. Her async lectures provided very little insight into what was happening onscreen and contained periods of corrupted audio.
this professor's online curriculum isn't great. didn't feel like the lectures & prep material prepared me for the midterm at all
Absolute shit. Everything is literally copy and paste from 2023, it's 2025. Lecture videos are useless. You're on your own. 50 problem hw, that's your study guide too for 12q exams. She's one of those teachers you don't know how she still has a job but then again you already know the school system doesn't give a shit, she gives less of a shit.
Mukherjee's weekly online material: 50 unassisted hw problems. Her lectures don't help with understanding anything at all. At most, she just describes what she's doing on the whiteboard on a surface level (if you're lucky). Walked out of the class feeling like I had absorbed basically nothing
If you can absolutely help it, don't take this professor for calculus. She's very nice and tends to extend due dates, but she's not great at teaching her subject. I had to visit the tutoring center very frequently during my semester with her to get a rundown of everything from the group up. Her lectures are BAD bad. Google is arguably better.
First class I've ever had to drop as an ohlone student. Mukherjee does not assist you during her course. Her recorded lectures are worse than some you can find online for free. Her slides are screenshots from the textbook. If you don't teach yourself basically everything from scratch, you will fail this course.
This class has long lecture videos of working through problems without really offering a deeper explanation of the material. Homework grades for completion, but not accuracy. Constantly posted announcements with incorrect or contradictory dates and information (announcement would give one date, actually assignment would have a different due date).
