Nice man. Seems unsure about what he's teaching because he says "ummm" and "right?" after every answer. Confuses students more in the process of learning than learning the actual subject.

I really like him. Very easy going teacher. I think the kids in my class are extremely rude and obnoxious and very unforgiving to his accent, and he doesn't have control of that, but other than that he's helpfull and i find the class (other than the brats) very easy. its an easy A in my opinion.

He is a great teacher, took the class during summer.

After reading previous comments I was dreading this class. I actually find him to be a good teacher! He explains the math well, reinforces the concepts well, and is pretty well organized. This is a summer class and we are moving along at a rather leisurely pace so I am a little curious about how we will finish all chapters.

I would take another class from this teacher. He really knows how to teach Algebra. A few of the students spoiled the fun by being rude and talking during class (why were they there anyway.) The tutor before the class was very good also. Excellent team together. I aced the class but worked for it..it is Algebra after all, very useful material.

I thought he was a good teacher. I looked at some of his earlier comments and don't know if previous students are just whiners or whether he has improved. Either way, I would take him again. Grading structure is fair, expectations are realistic and the instruction is better than I've ever had in a math class. Got an A! amazing for me!

This man knows his math and teaches it well. I've had him twice and learned a lot.Is he a little "different"? Sure. My suspicion is the last two nasty commenters are not doing well and are feeling the pressure at the end of the semester. I'm also guessing that if he were a Hot French Speaking teacher you would be able to understand him just fine.

I took this class with apprehension because I hate math. His english is a little hard to understand, but he knows it and makes fun of himself. He knows what he is teaching very well and will take the time to help you. I have taken math 3 times and got an A in his class. He is very nice and very smart(a little clumsy though).I would recommend him

Prof. Hussain was a great teacher, he really wants the students to learn and will help those who put forth the effort. It is possible to get an A if you work for it.I would take him again.

I took his 280 and 285 sections (statics and circuits). He assigns a lot of homework, which is a big time commitment, but if you do it you'll get an A in the class. He'll bend over backwards to help you if you're in need, but expect to work. Aside from physics 280/285, ENGR 280/285 are the hardest classes at OCC.

Professor Hussain is a great teacher, he cares about the students, I always understood what he said, he is a very intelligent teacher. I worked really hard and got an A. He will prepare you for College Algebra which will be easy after his great teaching methods.

This teacher is so cool, easy and helpful is a little hard to understand at times but is willing to keep going over problems with the class. Very flexible on retaking test or making up a test or quiz homework is from the book (EOO) the key for success in his class is be nice to him, and he will go out of his way to help you out!

Very good teacher. Willing to help whoever , whenever. He make mistakes with doing problems on the board but who doesn't. Tests are easy with extra credits. Just do homework, its harder than the test.

Super nice & helpful if you ask questions. However he is extremely boring as a lecturer. His quiet voice also makes me very sleepy. Gives you many chances to earn & make up points. Not the worst teacher but definitely not the best either.

His classes are very boring, but he is very helpful and nice. His tests are VERY long. They take about 2+ hours to finish, but he gives cheat sheets for some of them (including the final). Got a B in the class without studying, so an A is possible to get if you do the homework. But if you can,take someone else because he is a bit hard to understand

He is a nice guy. He loves doing what he does and is very willing to help out if you have trouble understanding. However, he is a little unsure in his methods and isn't very clear on the material. He does assign alot of hw though but only grades two problems and gives you credit for the rest. He's not the best teacher, but, like any other math class, if you pay attention, get help, and do the hw you can pass.

He is a very kind and helpful teacher and if you put in the effort he will reward you with the grade. This is a difficult subject to begin with so do not expect an easy A. He gives plenty of opportunities to raise your grade, and is always available during office hours. Show up, do your work, and study and you will be fine.

He's kind of hard to understand because of his accent. However, he's a pretty nice guy. If you need help, he is willing to even if the problem is irrelevant to the test. If you fail the class though you have studied, he'll find a way to help you out (changing grade scale). He tells you what is on the test, so if you do homework, you should be fine.

He is wiling to listen to students' opinions and explain carefully. I like him.

If you want to learn Calculus Mr Hussain is a very motivating teacher with a true passion for math. He will teach you. If you don't know your precalc and trig don't try this class. Great teacher also for engineering.

I enjoyed this class quite a bit. You learn mechanical drawing, autocad and solidworks, but the most time is spent on drawing. Very high detail oriented class, but as long as you pay attention to what is presented in the assignments and ask for help from Syed, you will get the picture. Good engineering professor, helpful for advice on the major.

Actually gives you a chance to pass if you really want to. He lets you drop your worst test and quiz score, and also offers a make up test and quiz day. Lectures are clear and helpful. So much better than any calculus professor I've taken after.

He is a very nice guy. I took Cal 1 and Cal 2 with him and got A's. I am taking Engineering 180 with him right now. He is willing to help. Although he gives a lot of homework, it is the only way to be good at math, I think. He gives you more chance to make up your scores. He is very strict in using cellphone, but he is an easy professor.

He is a very good professor I have ever had. He encourages me a lot. Even when I don't study with him anymore, he still help me whenever I have questions. Calculus 2 is not an easy course, but if you study hard, you can get good grade.

I took Pr. Syed fro Calculus 1 and 2. He gave a lot of homework and you need to complete that to pass his test. He gives you 3 chances such as extra credit, 2 parts of exam and he did assign your homework then give you points for that. So doing homework is critical to pass this class. I got A for both of cal 1 and 2 but you need some sacrifices.

This professor is really really good compared to other professor. If you love math and care to learn take him. I myself would give this professor in A+++ on everything period.

One of the most genuine professors out there. Always available at his office hours, is actually there and willing to help hours before his office hours begins. His tests are similar to the homework, making his class very easy. Yes, you have to actually do the homework to pass his class, which seems too much for most people rating him low on here.

He is the best professor among other professors. But, you need to have a strong background because his explanation is very confusing, and sometimes he complicates the simple concept. I learnt the materials on my own by watching youtube vidoes and do a lot of homework. His tests are from the homework problems that he assigned.

He makes himself available to all students and will take time to explain confusing topics. He welcomes questions and is very respectful. He also makes engineering statics class fun.

I got an A for Cal 2. Not recommended for those who struggles with math or does not have a strong background in math.

This is the first course that I took after passing the placement test in the US. It was hard to catch up in the beginning, but if you try your best, you will feel easier to be in his class. Do all the homework and assignments. Review all of them before the quiz or exam. Make sure you understand every problem. He is a enthusiastic professor!

awesome teacher. strict in a lot of ways but also presents many opportunities to boost your grade (such as extra credit, make up exams, study guides for exams, etc.) posts the exam schedule almost the first week of class so no surprises there. quizzes are sometimes a surprise though. overall, great guy, very helpful, caring, and willing to explain

He shows you what you need to do on the exams and quizzes. His explanation sometimes unclear but overall he's fine. Lots of chances to make up your grade. He's also nice and easy.

Test dates are known by the first week of class. Lectures take up the whole class and consist of solving example problems. Many different extra credit opportunities. Attendance is mandatory (part of the grade). Office hours are convenient and usually right before or right after class

Honestly, if you follow his instruction and are willing to put in some work, you'll get an A. He gives a list of questions to practice, which really helps with the exams. He also gives a makeup exam, dropping one of the lowest exams. It can be hard to follow in class, but he can help a lot during his office hours. He is super nice and caring.

I've never taken calc before and I was able to pass with an A, and I don't consider myself that good at math. Put in the work and you'll be able to get an A, he gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Show your work and read the syllabus and you'll be fine. He is a nice guy.

Professor Hussain is the only math professor who will stop his lecture and answer questions you have. Participation is mandatory. His lecture might be confusing but he is really nice and want to help you. Put in some effort and you will get an A.

10 quizzes, 2 exams, 1 makeup and 1 final. he'll let you take quiz on webassign with maximum 6 attempts. he offers many extra credits and even let you pick the problem that you want to consider as extras. he gives you extra makeup if the average grade wasn't good. hw is around 6-7 problems. he'll post tutorial videos for hw and quizzes on canvas.

Genius, seeing his is work makes me think of "Isaac Newton."

Exams (2 exams, a make-up that replaces one exam, and a final) are very fair and in line with homework and lecture material. The professor himself has a relatively strong accent and difficult to read handwriting (all lecture notes are posted, post-lecture) but the content is focused and simple to follow if the textbook is referenced beforehand.

This class is really manageable, as there is roughly 10 homework assignments, 8 quizzes, 3 exams and one makeup exam. He has a thick accent and bad handwriting, but he truly wants his students to pass. He will answer any questions, takes the time to explain concepts you are confused on, and offers extra credit. Overall a really good professor.

Overall he is an amazing professor. His accent and handwritting is not the best but not bad. He really wants you to understand so dont be afraid to ask questions. His test is similar to the problem you practice but slightly harder. He gives a lot of chances for you to improve your grade. Overall he is a great professor and very enjoyable class!

While Professor Hussain can be a bit unorganized at times, he is very caring and does not grade very harshly. He is an excellent lecturer, with expression and humor, however, his voice is not the loudest so sit towards the front if you can. Professor is strict about no electronics, but it's not that bad. Go to office hours and you'll be fine.

There is only one rule for this class: follow the instructions. In general, this is a tough class. You have to put in the works to pass. In the end, the only students who failed were the one who dropped for W. Also, no electronics, so use pen and paper. Show up everyday and follow instructions.

Professor Hussain is fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Material is dense and the class is challenging. One of my favorite classes and professors at OCC
