I took Sylvia for both Phlebotomy classes as well as Human Relations. She is a great teacher! Makes classes and assignments fun. A little crazy sometimes but that adds to the fun. I would, and have, recommended her as a teacher.

A very kind teacher, but a bit disorganized. HPRO 130 was so easy I was disappointed; I felt that I didn't learn nearly as much as I would've liked. If a different textbook was chosen, that would be a big improvement.

Sylvia was a kind, generous and understanding teacher. She is very helpful, I took her for phlebotomy and she was excellent. She made us feel comfortable in the practicle portions of the class and made the class fun. I definetly recommend her.

Highly experienced, highly intelligent and highly caffineated. Sylvia makes it impossible to dose off in class. She has a really full plate because she is in such demand from outside (other colleges, nursing schools & company training are just a few) but she skates into class just on time and keeps the time flying & the information flowing! A+!

I loved Sylvia. I thought she was kind of crazy, but in a good way. I wish I took more classes from her. As a Phlebotomy teacher, I would say she is one of the best. I am very confident and aware of everything that comes with my profession now, thanks to her.

I was very nervous about this class but Sylvia made things easier by being very upbeat. The book work was fairly easy for me but performing the actual skills was terrifying. Sylvia helped give me ways to get through that. She strives to help everyone get through the class successfully.

Sylvia is passionate about her teaching and wants her students to be the best phlebotomists.The textbook is very good; it is thorough, great photos of procedures, equipment.

This teacher was very thorough. Taught by using the book and made sure through worksheets and assignments that we had a clear knowledge of the material. Excellent technique was taught in the class. Again very thorough and good sense of humor. The book she used was the best. Great knowledge of technique and theory. Empowered each of us to be our best

Sylvia is truly one of the most energetic and enthusiastic teachers I have ever had. The best part about her teaching skills is that she presents a wealth of applicable information. Don't short yourself by not taking advantage of gleaning all that you can from her.

Not only does Sylvia have real hospital experience in phlebotomy, she also illustrates topics with memorable stories. She is very flexible and understanding of individual student abilities and schedule conflicts. She often stays late to help students. I am glad I took this class!

I've had the pleasure of learning under Professor Crawford before and there was no one else I wanted to take Phlebotomy from. She does a great job of combining book knowledge, practical application, and personal experience to make the class engaging and exciting. Her personal anecdotes are always a pleasure, as well. Definitely take her classes!

I had already taken 2 classes with Sylvia before Phlebotomy so I knew her style of teaching and was more than pleased with the instruction that I received in this class. She is a wonderful person and a great teacher. I think the people that have posted that she is a bad teacher might just have different learning styles than her teaching style.

Sylvia is a great instructor. Very passionate when she teaches. Since this was a Hybrid class attendance was mandatory once a week. If you had any questions/concerns you can talk to her personally or contact her through email and she always responded in a matter of minutes. Easy A if you do worksheets and study. She gives lots of extra credit.

Hybrid class; 1 day/wk on campus, some online. Instructor somewhat unorganized but knows subject well, passionate, flexible, memorable. Need to be self-directed w/study guides. Not a class for students who need structure. Lots of extra credit possible.

Was hybrid-campus 1 day and some online. Good discussions & group work in this class. Only use book at home to complete workbook (used for tests). Don't get behind on workbook! Sylvia: not most organized but great insight, career experience, wisdom to share. If you can't deal with a slightly unorganized class, good luck on the job.

Requires daily study for weekly tests, but she tells you exactly what you'll need to know. Stock up on flashcards and put in the study time and you'll be fine.

Professor Crawford is very interactive and intuitive as an instructor in phlebotomy. She cares about her students and wants to help them succeed. She has extensive knowledge in the field and keeps current on changes in phlebotomy techniques and requirements for employment. It is through her expert training and guidance I am prepared for employment

Sylvia Crawford is a unique instructor. She is interesting and really adds many of her work experience stories to prepare her students for all the aspects of health care. She has you learn the text on your own and spends in class time on a variety of human behaviors within the health care setting. I enjoyed her and her unique approach.

Ms Crawford is an excellent teacher. She cares about you perfecting your technique as teaches you lessons you will learn about phlebotomy in life, which made things a lot easier to understand. She also brings in guest speakers that allow us to draw on them and also give us a good understanding of the patients point of view.

Mrs. Crawford is an excellent teacher. She has a unique way of teaching by including real life situations , videos, stories. She makes sure to make accents on important points throughout the course that are very useful for your future career.

best class and great instructor! she's very clear about what she wants you to know for the exams. She tells a lot of helpful work experiences. Her exams are fair. Read the book and do the pre-quiz online and you will get A in her class.

Sylvia is amazing! You want her as your professor. She is such an understanding person! She tries to relate as much as she can to programs taught at BC and she always has stories to tell, which makes it easier to remember terms. She posts drills which are SO helpful when trying to ace exams.You can take the drills as many times as you'd like.

The outline of her online class was the best layout of any online class that I have ever taken. It was easy to follow and was very clear on what was expected. If you need this class, take her online course. She is also very helpful if you have questions and replies back to your emails promptly. She really is a wonderful instructor. Learned a lot!

best teacher to take medical terminology with! I took it 3 times with two other teachers and got a C, this time I took it with Sylvia and recieved a high A, so I am happy. Gets back to emails fast, not too overwhelming, very clear. All around awesome teacher and would DEFINITELY recommend her

I loved this class. Took it online and honestly, if you don't get an A there is something wrong. Many assignments but with PLENTY of time and immediate feedback. She is funny and interesting and quirky. Great response time to emails, etc.

The best teacher at BC! It was my first online class and I was very nervous. I even was thinking to drop it before I looked at the study guides. However, I am glad I did not. She is very clear on what to do and how to do things. Make sure you do everything is told and you will get a good grade. She quickly responds to emails unlike other teachers.

I thought certain aspects of learning terms would be lost in the online format, but that isn't the case. Sylvia records her voice for spelling tests &pronunciation. The practice drills, spelling tests, & reviews have multiple questions & are meant 2 be taken multiple times with the thought that repetition helps. Extra credit adds 5 pts to low test

Don't let "Medical Terminology" worry you. This professor creates take-as-many-times-as-you-want drills to get you through it with an A. Just do all the exercises ( even the optional ones ), write a few fun essays, and you'll be able to tell the difference between hypotonic, isotonic and hypertonic in no time.

Would say this class regardless could be a lot to memorize, especially since it is a quarter class... Def rec this teacher though. Loved the layout to her class. She made the spelling tests fun.

Great layout and easy to understand what you need to get done. If you want to get this class over with, you can start to work early and be done early! It's pretty easy if you put time into it.

legit best teacher. Easiest A+ ever. Fill out the study guides and you're set. You can repeat every single drill as many times. So you can easily get full credit on them. Only the exams can't be repeated, obviously. This class was not hard one bit. Defiantly recommend. Offers a lot of extra credit for exams, even for finishing the modules early.

This class is extremely easy. Retake the Drills as many times for full credit. Exams are almost exactly the same as the drills -- so copy and paste all the questions and answers. A few questions will be new but they are not difficult. Sylvia is easy to message and get a hold of for questions. Spelling bees are easy but did not see the point of them

Sylvia is amazing. She is funny, kind, compassionate. This was the best online experience I've ever had. There are a lot of drills but obviously necessary learning so many medical terms. There are 5 due dates for Modules. Some of them are really long so don't wait until the last minute. 3 short essays. Video and interactive diagrams available.

Sylvia was a fun professor. She made a rather dry subject interesting and even funny sometimes.

Sylvia was possibly the best online teacher I have ever taken. She clearly cares about all of her students and wants them to understand the material and pass. Her class was easy, but I still learned a lot. She extends the due date of modules if she notices students not completing them in time. Take her class and you won't regret it.

Took this course online and it was an easy "A". The study guides she give are almost exactly the same from any quiz and test given online. Just do the work on time and you'll pass. The quizzes she gives you are timed, but you can take them as many times as you want to get the grade you want. Loved this class!!

Sylvia is so great. She treats you less like students and more like her own kids. She's really caring and gets it when you have stuff going on in your life other than school. Assignments are clearly laid out and your grade just depends on whether you're willing to try. Not a super hard class and I learned a ton.

She is very sweet and reasonable. Just do your work and you'll pass her class in flying colors. I don't think she gives any unreasonable amount of work at all. She always sets you up to pass just show up and listen to her lectures (which she doesn't make boring)

She was just amazing. So sweet and caring and felt like a grandmother to me. Class is SO easy and simple. Impossible to not get an A. She guides you through the whole course and gives you everything you need to complete the assignments. Very straightforward class. You will absolutely not regret taking her. Sad that she only teaches this one class!
