He is an outstanding professor. He breaks down the material and makes it very understandable. Given the chance, I will take him again the next time he teaches a class I am required to take!
I enjoyed his class and is very nice. He was very easy to understand and he broke the material down very nicely and comprehendable. Tests are easy as long as you do the review tests which is almost just like the test. Everything is submitted online. Drops lowest test grade with final. I would take his class again if I had the chance.
He is a total sweetheart. He does have a thick accent so at times it was difficult to make out what he was saying but he writes down every single word as he teaches. He first writes out in words how to do the work and then gives Examples thru actual problems. Very Helpful and Do all of the homework which will help your grade tremendously!! We rare
Excellent teacher. I made an easy A in his class and I actually learned a lot. He is very good at explaining things and he is willing to help you after class. Also the homework is online so you get to repeat assignments until you make a 100. You have 3 attempts to make 100 on the quizes. His test questions are pulled from the homework and quizes.
Very Helpful and tolerant, really enjoyed him, and his classes are a lot of fun.
He over explains everything, you can basically do the online homework and teach yourself. Study the practice test and you should be fine for exams. Easy projects. I got an A and it was easy, but no need to go to class you wont understand him and he makes things harder than it really is. Teach yourself.
Awesome teacher...helps a lot
He teaches very well and he's so nice. Don't need the book. easy class
Was a good teacher and very helpful as long as you asked for help and also was extremely patient. Sometimes he could go a little slow on the lessons but he made sure everyone knew what they were doing before they left. But do expect to put in a lot of time for homework and quizzes to make sure you get a good grade.
Good teacher for basic math, I haven't had him for any advanced classes. He uses a website, MathXL, religiously. In a way, he teaches you something and MathXL shows you how to do it. If you don't figure out how to use MathXL you will fail this course. He does homework, quizzes, and tests on it.At least in my class where we had the computers inclass
Super easy class. he used everything online. he took attendance, but if he didn't there would have been no point in going. he has an accent so he can be hard to understand. he only has one way of explaining things so he isnt very helpful if you dont understand. but he is really easy.
Very nice teacher, had him for the second time this summer and was great. But for a summer class, it went ok until the last coule of weeks, when it got all really hectic with projects, quizes, homework, exam reviews. Made A's on everyhting but the final, which was way too hard!!!
If you want to do well in Calculus sign up for Prof. Kimitei's class without hesitation. He will do everything he can to help you successed - but you do have to work for it. Loved his class, and he has a nice sense of humour, too. Excellent, as he would like to say!
ME AND MATH HAVE NEVER GOTTEN ALONG. But I did extremely well in the class. If that's the case for you then you should definitely take him. Do ALL the homework and quizzes and try your best to make 100 on your HW and Quizzes. It will be your saving grace if you goof on exams. It is a lot of work but if you stay on top of it you should do well.
I hate math. Professor Kimitei made it interesting and explains why you need to know
Hw and quizzes done online. It's not his accent that makes it hard, it's that he's very boring and you never want to pay attention. which ends up making you have to learn the material yourself.Pay attention, or you will NOT do well on test.
WOW, this class was hard. The only easy thing about it was that the homework and quizzes were online so you just had to take the tests in class and he allows a one page cheat sheet on the tests which made it much easier. But the material is hard and he is boring so u end up teaching yourself. Do all the homework and show up to class. Barely got a B
Very good class. All homework and quizzes are on MathXL. Homework is an easy A ,allows 3 attempts on quizzes. He opens up all hw assignments and quizzes at the end of the semester so you can redo anything your not happy with. Gives practice tests before the exams. Gives bonus points on each exam. Go to class take notes, do mathxl get an A !
Very sweet man, but he is from Africa so he is very hard to understand. I took Pre-Calc in 11th grade, so I basically just went along on my own. Everything is on MathXL and it is not necessary to go to class as long as you know what you're doing. The practice tests he puts up before the exam are almost an exact replica of the exam. Do not need book
No book needed, just MathXl. He's Kenyan so a slight accent& he speaks softly so sit close to the board to pay attn. Hw is an ez 100. 3 chances for the Quizzes. 3 exam and a final. It's difficult material so study. recommended professor
This class was so much harder than it had to be. Yes, calculus is no walk in the park. However, Kimitei gave us too many sections at one time. Near the end is wear it gets hard. No book was needed, mathxl assignments due almost ever class meeting (and the sections are not organized!, and attendance to class is mandatory for the extra credit. H
DO NOT take him if your not good at math. He knows his content, he just cannot teach. He doesn't understand half the questions you ask him and starts explaining something completely different. His tests are really hard but he replaces the lowest grade with the final. Attendance is not mandatory. I would NEVER take him again
Difficult class if math isn't your thing. Lots of assignments and quizzes. Sometime it feels like they are do at the same time. He gives an amnesty period at the end for 72 hours so you can finish or redo HW and quizzes to boost your grade. That's why I will pass. He can be difficult to understand but is patient with students.
Took him for Pre-calc. His tests are extremely difficult if you are not natural at math. The tests range from 18 to 25 questions. Attendance is mandatory. He is Kenyen and his accent makes it a bit difficult to understand. He tries to answer your questions but sometimes won't understand you. Also, he hates cell phones and talking in class.
He started the semester very well going through the material slowly. He then rushed us so much he would have homeworks, tests quizes all due on the same day. He seems to enjoy it when students find his tests difficult. He was extremely disorganized and he just taught steps and methods instead of helping us have a deeper understanding of the concept
I HIGHLY recommend. I took this class 3 other times and dropped. I'm good at math, but NEVER took any Calc. I grad HS in 96 and hadn't done Alg/Geo in yrs either. Also, I had no idea how to use the TI-83. I took this summer term so it was accelerated and I got an "A". Go to class, Keep up with HW & quizzes, Hard tests but 1 pg cheat sheet allowed.
He is very nice and humble. In class, he goes the extra step to help you. Do not ask him a question through email or ask to visit his office hours, HE WILL NOT meet with you outside of class. He does give many extra credit and amnesty grades!
He's such a sweetheart, he really cares about helping you understand the material. Precalc is already a hard class, but he teaches thoroughly and applies it to real life. Posts slides online, hw on mathxl (if you do it you make a 100), quizzes online, tests in class. The test questions come straight from homework and practice exams. Recommended!
If you can not decifer foreign accents well, you probably wont succeed in his class. I sat up front and tried as hard as i could to understand him. He is a soft speaker so if you sit in the back... forget it. He moves really fast and misunderstands 99% of all questions asked, so re-explaining something is a joke. I ended up dropping it.
Hard to understand sometimes but a very nice guy. He tries to teach the material but i ended up teaching myself mostly. Hard tests and used MyMathLab for everything but tests. I wouldnt suggest him.
Professor Kimitei is a really nice guy but he does not know how to teach. He definitely knows the subject matter but has no idea how to teach it. He'll do things wrong on the board and students correct him constantly. Very Hard tests. All homework is online. I do not recommend him if you're not very good at math.
He's an ok guy, but his teaching style is horrendous. I taught myself the majority of the homework, and I currently have a C in the class. I would not take him if you struggle in math. He does have a 72 hour amnesty period. He posts quizzes on weekends, which makes it harder to do. I would not recommend him.
Prof Kimitei is nice, but this is a hard class. All hmwk in mathxl, 30 assignments over 15 weeks. Quizzes on-line. 72 hr amnesty for hmwrk & quizzes at the end of the semester. Test 2 was wicked hard. Be prepared to work and spend time in the math lab or hire a tutor.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. He has a strong accent, but it's not too difficult to understand. All HW and Quizzes are online. 3 Tests and a Final. The Final will replace lowest Test grade, if higher. He goes over HW before it is due, to help you get an idea how to do it. He writes his notes along with you, and doesn't go too fast.
Accent or no accent he is a good teacher. This is a tough class and he taught it well. The only thing I do not like is Mymathlab;you spend an unreasonable amount of time on homework and quizzes. Attend all classes and do all your HW aiming for 100% in each then you do not have to worry about amenesty. 72 hrs is not much if you have other classes.
He's an ok professor. His test are exactly like the study guide, an he makes sure that the student understand the topic.
Don't take him if you struggle at math, attendance mandatory, not very clear, you spend a ridiculous amount of time on MathXl. If your looking for an easy A don't take him.
He is outstanding. I love the way he teaches the economics concepts using calculus. Concepts such as AFV, APV, Average value of a function, Marginal cost, marginal revenue, marginal profit, increasing profit, decreasing costs, increasing revenue on and on and on....Amazing Economics in Calculus!
He is really hard to understand and is difficult to follow once you get into complicated material. TWICE he put concepts on the study guide that weren't supposed to be there, and even put those on a test and "omitted" them. He doesn't explain things the "best way" but tries to explain them..which is okay in 1st grade but not in college level math.
He has an ascent. But he still explains the concepts with clarity. Student who fail this class must be way poor in Algebra. If you are weak in Algebra, consider taking Math 1111 before taking this class. The MYMATHLAB homework is a lot but this is expected at the college level. Do not take the class if you are a slacker. Be ready tow work so hard!
Prof Kimitei is a small adorable nice man from Kenya. While, his accent may be a little strong he does everything possible for you to understand. His test can prove to be challenging, but you are allowed to have a 1 front page cheat sheet. All homework and quizes are on MyMathLab. You actually have to work to get an A. I recommend taking his class!
Kimitei has 3 tests and a final. he allows a cheat sheet for each. all of the quizzes are on mymathlab and he allows 3 days at the end of the semester to redo everything. Challenging, yet easy if you put the time forth. Also his looks don't hurt;)
Everything said is pretty true. Accent, explains as much as necessary for the class to get it, he is a nice teacher and very knowledgeable without making you feel dumb. Most of all, He CARES. He wants his students to succeed and learn all at the same time.
This class utilizes algebra. I'm an older adult who had not taken math in YEARS! But I earned an A! Do the homework timely and aim for 100%, do the Quizzes and aim for 100%, and go to class. In class, Professor Kimitei is very good, outside of class he is not helpful and sometimes unresponsive. I advise utilizing the Pearson Tutor for extra help!
Good professor. Knows this is a hard class and is very kind. 3 tests and a final. the final replaces your lowest test grade. The second and third test he allows you a one sided cheatsheet. The final he allows a double sided cheatsheet. Good attendance gives you 2% points at the end of the year. The attendance raised me up a letter grade.
This is surely not an easy class but Professor Kimitei trys very hard to help you pass the class.Lot of work on MathXL so try to aim for 100 on all online homework and quizzes! He makes himself available during office hours if needed. He is very patient because he knows that this is not and easy subject. Take him and work hard you will pass.
Class is hard, but he tries his best. There is a ton of homework, but if you do it you will be way better prepared for the quizes and tests. 3 tests, 6 quizes, hw on MML, attendance, and comprehensive final make up your grade. Make sure you study hard for the final. Final replaces lowest test grade.
Actually a really good teacher. The only reason I am really writing this is to inform others that he does have a very thick accent and it makes it hard to understand him at times. Other than that, he allows cheat sheets on the test and you have three attempts on quizzes. Definitely not an easy A though, requires a lot of studying.
Prof. Kimitei is a awesome teacher. He does his best to provide examples to the material learned in class. Your allowed a cheat sheet for each test. The best part is that the final replaces the lowest & he gives amnesty period for all the missed assignments on mymathlab. Very helpful if you need him after class. I would take him great teacher!!!!
he cares about his students. he tries to make sure you understand. he opens up the homework and online quizes at the end so you can make up the ones you missed. he is a great person. definately take him!!!
He can create questions on the fly and solve them with simplicity. He gives us steps on how to solve any calculus problem. He also tells us how the information presented is connected. Did I also tell you he is a GURU with the TI-83/84. Take him if you want to see the beauty of Mathematics in Business!!
Kimitei is a really nice guy. He is Kenyan and has a bit of an accent, so sit near the front of the class. Goes over the lesson very clearly and has multiple choice tests. Study and do the homework and you should be in good shape.
He is very helpful and makes sure that you understand. He does have an accent but it is not that strong...and he also writes down everything that he is going over on the whiteboard or projector...so he is very clear. Hard work, but what calculus class is easy? He has a good sense of humor and makes the class bearable. I would take him again!
He is a very nice guy! He does have an accent but you can still understand him. He reopens up all the quizzes and homework so there is no way you can fail! He allows you to have a cheat sheet on all exams!
He is a great professor. He has an accent but not nearly as bad as some. You will do quite a bit of homework online so if you choose his class prepare to spend atleast 2 hours per week online doing homework, sometimes more. He allows a cheat sheet on all tests so if you go to the SI sessions sometimes they will make your cheat sheet for you.
Mr. Kimiteri was a great teacher. He wants his students to exceed does his best to help all his students pass. Homework is done online and he reopens all the assignments toward the end of the semester so if you miss assignment you have a chance to make it up. I would highly reccommend taking his class if you have to have math.
Very nice teacher. He has accent but can understand most of the time. Sit up close to the front. Likes to work out problem the long way instead showing short cuts.Knows his math and enjoys it. I'm not very good in math so I had to drop out. Unless you are good in math don't take him.
He is the hottest professor on KSU who teaches Math 1106. If you do not like the way he teaches, then probably it is because he assigns tonnes of work. So slackers shouldn't take his class. He gives tonnes of extra credit. He allows a page of notes in each tests. He lets the final exam replace the lowest test grade. Very intelligent!
He is a very nice teacher who tries to crack jokes once in a while. He has a very thick accent that requires full attention to understand. He teaches a new section at the very end of class, while giving you the easiest examples. The homework consists of much harder problems. He is very disorganized, but his calc class has 3 student student aids.
professor kimitei utilizes Learning Assistants in his class. He is very willing to help. Unfortunately many students in my class are lost because they very weak algebra and precalculus skills. Instead of studying hard to succeed, they expect to be spoon fed. If you take took notes, do your homework, you are guaranteed to succeed!
Mr. Kimetri is cool...I like the facts that all of his homework and quizzes are in MyMathLab. I do not think this guy is disorganized at all. His syllabus is very clear. Exams. Homework. Quizzes indicated in the syllabus. If he makes any changes, he tells us. This professor knows his stuff. I love the way he is so good in Trig & Calculus!
Beware! Second test is after withdrawal period. He is extremely picky about what he wants you to do on the test and if it is not his way it is no way! Tests are extremely difficult and seem impossible. He is a very nice guy but he is a bad teacher. If you care about your grade, don't take this class. I got my first F in this class.
This class is so frustrating because he takes the long way of doing things, and it puts me to sleep. But the tests come straight from the homework MyMathLab so just pay attention in class and do the homework and you'll be fine.
Actually, he takes time to make us learn. Those who sleep in class are not interested in the subject. Take notes, ask questions and you will be fine. Since Prof. Kemetei puts his homework and quizzes online which account for 30% for the grade, this makes his class good for someone who works hard!I made an easy A because he actually teaches!
Take his class if you are prepared to do a lot of work. He actually wants you to learn and to love Math. He teaches as if everyone is a Math major. He doesn't assume anything. He puts a very good practice test in desire to learn. Make sure you do it over and over again. This guy really loves Math! Take him if you love and wanna learn Math!
It can be hard to pay attention to him since his voice is kind of soft. I got my first failing grade in this class because the test are extremely hard, so if you can't focus easy and are not a good test taker then DO NOT take him.
prof. Kimitei is hot because of the following reasons: 1. He replaces the lowest test grade with the final exam. 2. He allows a a page cheat sheet in each exam. 3.) His homework and quizzes are online and are submitted through Matlab. 4.) He allows students to make up all quizzes and homework at the end of the semester during Amnesty period!
This class was very frustrating. I am good at math but he teaches in a way that's extremely hard to follow & makes it seem harder than it needs to be. Thick accent & speaks too quietly, so the class drags on (no wonder no one ever showed up to class). Don't take this class if you like things explained in simple terms, he talks like a textbook.
As for me, I love his class. He teaches in a way that I understand. Some people enter a calculus class thinking it is like algebra. But this is never algebra at all. It is a new way of thinking. Anyone who thinks calculus is simple is deceiving himself or herself. It requires hard-work and persistence. Missing a calculus class can hurt you terribly
I have never rated a professor until I had him. That just goes to show how awful he is. He doesn't seem to think that any other job other than computer programming is valid. He makes people show proofs of equations...THIS IS A CALCULUS ONE CLASS! I came completely ready to learn and even tried reading ahead and teaching myself. Worst teacher ever.
We just took test #3 and I think I will have an A in it. Prof. Kimitei gave us almost an exact copy of exam 3 to review and he changed the numbers in the actual test. he also put the solutions online with the formulas. I think anyone complaining about him does not come to class or is not studying at all. Calculus is HARD, what do you expect. Study!
Calculus 1 requires a lot of studying. I have never studied like I have done in this class. Also, I am very grateful for all the notes Prof. Kimitei puts in desire 2 learn. Without it, I would be so lost. I have gone to his office numerous times and he has helped me a lot. Make sure you go to his office to get help whenever something is not clear.
I took Calculus in high school and this class is not difficult for me. For anyone who wishes to take in the future, just make sure you sit up close. Take notes. Do your MyMathlab homeowrk on time and never miss his classes. His examples sometimes appear in the tests word by word. He really wants you to be prepared for Cal II.
I am expecting to make my first A in Calculus. One thing I like about Kimitei is that he is very knowledgeable. He knows the algebra skills that is required for the class and can use it very easily without a book in class. I am also impressed that he can teach any section without a book. He is very smart!!
He is extremely hard to understand when he does examples. If you don't understand how he got an answer he just looks at you instead of reexplaining it. The only good things that I liked were that his tests are almost identical to his study guides and he reopens MML at the end of the semester to make up and fix any grades.
Kimetri told us from day one that the Amnesty period is a makeup period for students who missed the MYMATHLAB assignments due to illness or other personal reasons. So the students who call this a time to fix the grades is forgetful or is misleading students here. By the way, this helped me study for my final exam...thank you!!
My hard work paid off. I have never studied like this before. I should make a "A" in the class. This professor wants you to learn and to know all the ideas deeply, not just for a grade but for future classes.
He assumes you remember everything college algebra. He would take points off for skipping a few steps on exams. He claimed it was because i memorized.I don't understand, I feel like he gets happy marking off points of my exam. I worked harder than everyone in the class and it showed on everything but the exam. He likes cutting points. ok professor.
My efforts paid off. I have made an A in this class and I feel I truly deserve. I worked my butt off! Hard work is really the key to success in Mathematics. My friends who took him and went on to Calculus 2 say he never assumes anything and it is true. I hope the material I learned will allow me to succeed in Calculus 2 in the spring.
Good Professor. He's kinda hard to understand, but it isn't that big of a deal. His tests are the exact same as the study guide he just changes the numbers around. Only negative, he uses MyMathLab for homework and quizzes.
I love Mr. Kimitei! He teaches well and if you do not understand something will explain it in a different way. Has study guides that are very helpful for every test. The online quizzes can be hard but you get 3 chances. Make sure you do good on all homework and quizzes, will help you a lot.
He's an Online professor that has lecture classes. He calls himself a lecturer and that's all he does. He doesn't teach; instead, he depends on MML to "teach" students! He refuses to answer questions, telling students to "look it up on YouTube". Basically, be prepared to teach yourself.
I took professor kimitri for Math 1106 during the summer. It was an online class. He gave us a lot of resources and the class was very well structured. 3 exams, tonnes of homework and quizzes in Mymathlab and one final exam on campus. I ended up with an A but after working my butt off! If you are lazy, don't take him. Don't mix work with school!
He's a nice dude but his class is really hard. He's not very good at explaining how to do something in a way that everyone understands. He also only has one way of explaining things. If you already understand calculus, then he's fine, but if you're bad at math or have never taken a calculus class before, DO NOT TAKE HIM.
This professor knows the material very well. He stressed at the beginning that he prepares students to succeed in calculus II and I can now see why. He never skips anything. He wants detailed answers and will never accept calculator solutions. If you take him, study hard, never skip class and read widely! I have made over 100 in very test!!!!
Uses power points from Calcportal to teach, and and expects you to remember everything from pre calc. He has one way of teaching and if you don't understand it he just rewords it and explains all over again. You have to do some major practicing to understand unless you're good at calc. Very thick accent, hard to understand. Wouldn't take again.
I don't think he is that bad. The don't agree with the Powerpoint presentation part. Even if he uses powerpoint presentations, he makes up his own problems from his head. The problems he makes up are way harder. And he goes ahead and solves them. When he presents solutions from CalcPortal in class, he shows everything step by step. I like that!
This class is tough. But He uses a SI leader who is very helpful. There is so much to keep track of in this class. Every day, there is something new. It really helps if you are good in Math. If you suck in algebra and precal, then review it well. Even if he helps in it, he will not do it all. He cannot teach precal and cal at the same time i guess
I am taking prof kimeti this fall 2014 and the class is really difficult. However, he has provided us with lots of opportunities to improve our grades. He has a time at the end of the semester which he calls amnesty period. This period is when students make up missed assignments. The final exam can count twice since it replaces lowest test grade.
For the online section there was a lot of work. He offered some written examples for the problems, but most the the "teaching" was done by youtube videos. There were class discussions for every homework set and he expected the students to answer each other's questions. BUT on the plus side, he offered a lot of extra credit.
I really enojed having Kimitei as my professor. He's very helpful and knowledgeable on the subject. He assigns group worksheets in class, but they're very easy. Lots of mymathlab homework, but he also posts extra credit on mymathlab for every test. My only actually complaint is that he can be hard to understand sometimes, but it's not distracting.
More than 50% of the questions in the final exam came from tests 1-3. professor kimitei expected us to work hard. He gives lots of extra credit from Si and practice tests . If you are a slugger, do not take him. He expects you to work hard to earn your grade. He told us to study the tests and I can now see why. I will get a A in the class!
Makes learning enjoyable, although not always the best at explaining things. Reason why I love him so much: EXTRA CREDIT. He allows up to 10 bonus points on each tests, through practice tests and SI session-- which ultimately help you learn the material. Don't take this class if you are lazy. Expect a lot of hw, but also expect to actually learn.
Very nice and very funny . Can be hard to understand but if you go to him with a question he will try to help! He can be redundant but seeing him after class he can always clarify
accent is a little hard to understand but it was just his confusion of himself and the class that made it hard to learn
He is a great professor. He knows his stuff. I do not think his accent affects learning at all. This professor knows his stuff. He can do all the problems without referring to any textbook. He is also a good grader and gives extra credit in tests when students do practice tests online in mymathlab. He also gives bonus points for SI attendance/
You CAN use calculators. calculators saved my grade big time as graphing saved me a lot of time. most prof wont let you take a calculator for this class. easy to get a good grade if you just rinse and repeat your HW or Quizes. you get 3 attempts to get 100 on quiz. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Very nice man. His (kenyan?) accent is very easy to understand so dont worry about that. He gets scatter brained and messes up every now and then but, his class isnt terribly hard. Easy B, well earned A
He was a decent professor. Struggling with math I would not recommend him because his lectures do not prepare you for much. Quizzes while online are tough, homework is nothing similar to it. Tests are hard. Not multiple choice so you must show work. Hard if you do not understand the topics and are just using calculator to get you through gen ed.
He has an accent but is not hard to understand. He likes to dwell on the theory. I like his teaching style because I intend to be a Math major. So his proofs are great. He shows us how everything is connected in trigonometry from the ratios to identities. I have learned a lot from him. In high school, we were taught only to memorize things!
Prof. Kimitei is a pretty straightforward teacher. He goes through the lectures and is willing to re-explain if needed. I've always been pretty mediocre at math, so this course was challenging, but other students found it easy. Pay attention and show up to class. Ask questions if you need help.
I have done more than 100+ hours of homework for this class alone on My Math Lab. You take tests in class and you are allowed to use a calculator, nice right? Well, don't even bother because if you don't show every ounce of work on your paper even if your answer is right he will mark it wrong and accuse you of cheating. He's ok but there's better.
He expects you to write notes in class and to use the notes to reason how to solve Mathematics problems. The other thing he expects from you is to write very clearly and to show your work with correct Mathematics. Even if you get the answer correct, he will not give you full credit if you do not show your work. Show be diligent and very clear.
He is hard to understand at times and because the class is so long it is very hard to pay attention. I really did not like this class because he was not that good at giving examples and his tests are really hard.
I took notes meticulous ly. It paid off. He gives practice test with solutions and posts them in D2L. Study them really hard. He gives questions based on them. Never skip classes. He replaces lowest quiz with attendance score. This cass is not college algebra. Study hard!!!
Let me just sound the alarm to everyone. If you are weak in algebra or precal, just go and learn it well enough before taking his class. He wants you to be very well polished in PRECAL and ALGEBRA. Calculus requires extreme proficiency in algebra and precal. Do not take this class lightly. This professor will work your butt off!
he was funny, nice, and explained things well. the tests were not too hard. lots of online homework
This professor is a gem. He discusses the material and explains the theory of mathematics really well. He clearly has a passion for mathematics. I hope to continue to study hard and A's this class. Clearly everything he is teaching me will be useful when I take cal 2. So far, everything is a breeze. Limits is a piece of cake!
I'll be direct so I can fit more in this. He's really passionate about math, and he wants you to succeed. He'll answer all questions, and you won't feel like an idiot for asking. He gives extra credit towards tests, and he has an grace period for hw. He goes over hw in class before it's due to clear confusion. Best math prof I've had so far.
MyMathLabs will be the death of me, but this guy knows his calculus.
Takes role. Content was hard. Only need webassign. I went every class and answered all his questions and still made a C on every test after I knew the content. Tough on test grading. You miss one class and get behind it is almost impossible to make up for it. Homework due every week.
This class relies heavily on MyMathLab, which killed me. Homework is definitely harder than the tests and takes a long time to complete. He's a nice man but you must pry helpful info out of him. "Study guides" for the test are on his website. Takes role for extra credit, but class isn't mandatory. I went to all the classes yet still struggled
Homework is online, which took a lot of time to complete. But it was Pre-Calc so i understand the need for practice. He taught everything we needed to know for the test, and gave very very similar copy of the test as review. Easy A if you do the work. Gives extra credit and genuinely cares about his student
He understands the concepts, but does not communicate them very well. Most classes he will just write down the rule and then start doing problems on the board, and just expect that you know what he is doing. if you ask good questions he can be very helpful though! his HW will make you think youll fail, but the tests are significantly easier that HW
This professor knows his Calculus. I had an "A" in exam 1 because he is very specific on what one needs to know in order to do well in exam 1. Algebra is the killer for most students. I hear students in the class asking very basic algebra questions, it sometimes bothers me. If one writes good notes and reviews them, this class should be very easy!
This class ties together everything from algebra and trigonometry. Professor Kimiti shows how ideas from algebra and trig fit in. He explains it as he uses the concepts in the class. So far, everything seems to be making perfect sense. I like his enthusiasm for the subject. Few teachers care. He clearly shows he cares I am striving for an A!
Professor Kimitei truly cares about his students and strives to help them all succeed. The content of the course is rigorous, but he will help you during office hours, before class, during class, and basically whenever you need help. If you put in the effort on webassign, take good notes, and make an attempt to ask for help you can make an A.
Took all the fear out of math for me. I've never been great at the subject, but I pulled out an A w/ his help. He gives lots of homework, but it's an easy way to boost your grade! EC gave me a chance to bring two tests from Bs to As. He totally cares whether or not you understand the subject, and he will take the time you need to understand.
You have to show up to class because attendance and classwork are taken as grades, but you will learn mostly through mymathlab. Goes over most of the topics on quizzes (not all of them) and gives practice tests before actual tests. Very strong accent. Pay attention and take notes, you have to really work for a good grade.
I took Math 1160 online, and it was a great experience. Everything is done through MathLab. For quizzes, you get 3 attempts and for tests you get 2 attempts. But beware there is a lot of homework and quizzes! However, he gives plenty of resources for you to learn the material. The final has to be done with a proctor in person or using ProctorU.
You use mymathlab so homework and quizzes are online. However, you have 3 test that are in class which make it very difficult. The quizzes online are nothing like the in class test. I got 100's on all my homework and A's on quizzes and made nothing over a 60 on my tests. Thick accent, hard to understand. Won't give help bc "you should have notes"
I differ with some of the reviewers of prof Kimetri's online class. His online resources are very rich. In fact, he has posted all his notes in D2L. I ended up with an "A" in the class and it is because I took this class seriously. I had to study a lot. Most students hire tutors to do the work only to be in for a rude shock in the final exam!
Online Homework - 15% Online Quizzes - 15% Two online tests - 30% Mandatory Final Exam - 30% ( Student's waterloo) D2L discussions - 10% Extra Credit - 1 % Now you know.
I am not good in mathematics but going for help in his office made all the difference. I was there in his office every week. Calculus one is not algebra. I had to study also heavily. I hired a tutor to help me. In the end, I ended up with a B + in the class. He was very patient with me. GREAT TEACHER!
Very great lecturer. He gives lots of homework on mymathlab, buts its very easy to get a 100 on each assignment. He gives at least 5 online quizzes and you get three attempts. He also gives out online assignments before tests that you can complete in order to receive extra credit. I ended up receiving 13 extra points on my final. Would recommend!
Probably the worst professor Ive had. Homework and quizzes through my webasssign arent bad but his teaching in class can be difficult to follow. He grades really strictly on his test and in class assignments, and counts off every little thing he possibly can. As a person who loves math, him and his class made me hate it.
Kimitei is my one B in college so far, I've taken 21 classes. He would be a great professor if you could understand him. His accent is very heavy. Everybody in my class had trouble hearing him. While he is kind and friendly, this inability to communicate makes getting an A in Calc super difficult.
I have attended all his classes and taken very good notes. He gives lots of examples. I love it when he comes to class and solves some of the homework problems. He has gotten all the problems correctly every time he has worked them. And the amazing thing is that he works them out without any aiding tools, step by step. I love it!
I have gone to his office for help several times and he has been so helpful. He is very patient, detailed and considerate. Although I didn't do well in the last exam, I am sure I learned a lot. He is very knowledgeable! I want to refine my algebra skills so that I do not make the same mistakes in the final exam.
Absolutely disappointed in his performance. Our online class created a group me in order to remind peers of work to do, deadlines etc. Well, come to find out half of us weren't getting any email responses from him. Often left in the dark with many questions unanswered. A couple of quizzes had questions from uncovered material. Unacceptable
He grades hard on tests. Your show work on his tests must be identical to how he teaches it or he gives no credit. Every time a test was handed back, there were grading errors. He does not post any grades to D2L and does not answer his emails. There were lots of homework on Webassign. This professor is probably the worst professor I have ever had.
The class uses MyMathLab for homework, quizzes and tests. In the front page of Mymathlab, the website shows which homework assignments are due each time. The instructor also added a page in the syllabus which shows the day to day calendar for all homework and quiz assignments. The students who complain never reviewed the syllabus at all.
The instructor requires the students to express their thoughts logically and using the correct math notation. He takes points off in exams if students violate correct math notation. I can understand why. Some students want him to be lenient but the instructor believes that he is preparing us for calculus 2 and beyond. So he has to be strict.
As a dual enrollment student, I was very surprised to see students in my class with very dismal knowledge of algebra and trig and yet in calculus 1? 1.) a/(b+c) is not a/b + a/c. 2.) sin(a+b) is not sin(a) + sin b 3.) sinx is not sin 4.) tan x is not tan 5.) (a+b)^2 is not a^2 + b^2 6.) log(a+b) is not loga + log b
I would probably give poor feedback due to lack of organization and poor communication, but I am giving an average score because he came through on my grade expectation and I could tell through the semester he cared about our performance and grades. He was willing to give us a lot of extra credit to make up for the shortfalls of the class.
Calculus is a hard class regardless who you take. He explains the basics then expects you to use the knowledge outside of class during the hw/in class assessments. Do the study guides and do every ex. he does in class. It's easy to fail behind so if you dont understand something, ask for help, watch Prof. Leonard on Youtube, or go to the SMART cen.
DONT TAKE unless you're somewhat good at math. I studied, went to tutoring and went to office hours and still failed. He grades extremely hard on tests and its not multiple choice. Answer and work has to be correct to get credit on exams. He goes a little fast and I hated his lectures. He doesnt make sure the students actually understand problems.
A great Professor indeed! Just don't goof around. He wants you to take his class very seriously. Pay attention in class and write very good notes. Some of his tests include questions that he discusses in class. An example is how to proof the lim of sinx /x. He loves this one!
Just make sure you study
one of the worst professors Ive had. Ive always excelled in math but his course has been the only math course Ive struggled with. and hes such a hard grader its almost like he wants you to struggle. Hes also really hard to understand some times. Literally everyone Ive talked to thats taken him hated it. Save yourself the trouble.
Online tests and a mandatory final exam. The best part of his course is the online discussion board in D2L. Amazing prompts! It makes us learn a lot from each other. I love the great D2L posts from my classmates.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. I heard so many bad stories about him and I still didnt listen because Im good at math and figured Id be fine. Well I was wrong. Im a junior and this was the worst course I ever taken. Hes the toughest grader and youll hate his lectures. Seriously take anyone else
His second test was very difficult but I still did well. I now know his tricks. I have discovered he picks his test questions from his lectures. So paying attention in class is a great way to pass his class. Write very good notes. Redo his examples 1000 times and understand the theory really well. Doing so will guarantee an A. Not an easy course!
Never in my life have I gotten below an A on a math test, but this class ruined that. There are three exams and the final and tons of homework that he doesn't cover in class. His notes are complicated and long-winded that you can't even write them down coherently. His gives few examples and expects you to apply concepts he barely glazed over.
He goes over notes in class although he is often interrupted by slow notetakers. But since he posts his notes on D2L Brightspace , I always print them and bring them to class so that I can write along as he discusses the material. He is extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately, most of my classmates are weak in algebra and trig.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!! If I could rate lower than a 1 I would. He was the only teacher left to take for calc other than someone rated lower. During add/drop period more than half my class dropped his class. I should have dropped too but I thought I just had to get use to his testing style. WORST MISTAKE EVER MADE!!!!!
This professor is very detailed in his lectures. I learned a lot from him. There were students in the class who were very weak in algebra and trigonometry. And since they could not keep up, they kept interrupting him to clarify very basic concepts. My suggestion to future students is this - brush up your algebra and precal before taking him.
3 tests, 6 online quizzes (3 attempts each), homework on MML. Great prof with an awesome accent (sometimes hard to understand but not too bad). If you get the opportunity, take his class. My class had extra credit for the tests.
How does this man have such a high rating when he grades so harshly? He wants to see all your work on tests, and even then he will mark answers wrong if it's not to his liking. If you do poorly in the first half of the semester there's almost no way to redeem yourself since final replaces only 1 test grade. Avoid at all cost
His tests are similar to his notes. He has three tests and a final exam. He gives practice tests with answers and posts them in D2L. He has a day during the term called Amnesty period for homework/quiz makeup. He replaces the lowest test with the final exam score. If you pay attention, take good notes in his class and STUDY, then you will pass.
Here is how I made an A in his class. 1. Attended all of his lectures. Attendances replaces the lowest quiz grade. 2. Attend SI sessions and LA sessions. He has an SI and LA in his class 3. Score over 90% in all his homework/quizzes 4. Take advantage of Amnesty period to boost your scores 5. Take good notes and study them 6. Be positive minded
Professor Kimitei made calculus a not so intimidating class. He provides tons of helpful material. MyMathLab is used throughout the course. Unlimited attempts at homework, best of 3 for quizzes, best of 2 for tests. Final uses ProctorU, but you feel prepared so it's not a big deal. Would absolutely take him again. He made calculus make sense!
Tests are straightforward and similar to study guides and practice tests but he grades harshly and doesn't give a lot of partial credit. You can do well in the class if you do all the homework, good attendance, good quiz grades and still fail some tests. He's one of the better calc professors at ksu. He's very nice and willing to help you out.
its a hard class, so yeah its gonna be a lil rough, but he is an amazing professor. he teaches the material well & he even lets you have a cheat sheet for your tests. theres lots of homework, but if you dont do too well on the tests, the homework can help your grade. also, he cares if you know the information, you just have to ask for help.
the class is MATH 1160 but it wasnt an option. He is an ok teacher, he knows the material but transferring the information past just saying what to do is a problem. if you ask a question past show that again he isnt really able to help. Also he is very difficult to reach. i used youtube and my brother for help in this class so be ready.
This instructor knows his material. He goes out of his way to work out homework assignments for us if we have difficulties in them. He also posts his notes on D2L and points us to other resources on mymathlab. His online class live videos are great. He is also very funny especially when he talks about applications of math.
He really understands the material. He was always able to answer my questions about homework problems or the problem that he was demonstrating, even changing the problem up a bit to show his explanation. It is really important to do all of the homework. It is 20% of the grade and good practice for the tests. There's a few opportunities for bonuses.
Poor Kimitei, such a sweet man but his class is very time consuming. He GIVES WAY TOO MUCH HOMEWORK and does not lecture. He only gives pdf's of notes written by his assistants and links to youtube videos. I learned by the homeowork and used the homework on the tests. Tests aren't lockdown, which saved me. Only option if your an online student.
This was the easiest online class I have ever taken. Professor Kimeti offers notes on D2L, homework, tests and quizzes on Mathlab. He also requires students to engage in discussions on D2L. He offers helpful virtual office hours on D2L Collaborate. His final exam is on for the class is proctored by ProctorU. Take advantage of Amnesty period!
If you don't enjoy doing lots of math and care about yourself not suffering, I recommend not taking this class. I've used aleks before but with this professor, preparing for quizzes and tests is way too much. This class will take up a lot of your time if you care about doing well. If math is easy for you, then this class will be fine.
He takes an eternity to answer his emails and doesn't give study guides.
He is such a sweet and kind professor but when it comes to lecture, his fast teaching speed makes it hard to keep up with content. Not only myself but a couple of my classmates just watched youtube videos of how to do certain problems as Prof. K does not do a real good job of teaching. Overall not a bad teacher, got an A but I did not learn much
Most of the resources for the class came from ALEKS videos and class textbook. prof kemetei utilized a SI and posted a 76-page of structured notes for self-study. Since the class is purely online, I had difficulties allocating time to meet him since I worked a lot. His past exam solutions on D2L helped a lot. I enjoyed his final exam review a lot.
Yeah taking this was the equivlent of looking both ways before you cross the street and getting hit by an airplane. I a decent math student and whenever I take a math class I do my best and study the material. I got an A in highschool Pre-calculus. It was a summer class and theres HW every day with 0 explanation,Thick accent and 0 Actual help.
Do not take him if you work full time and have little time for the class. Calculus is a tough course. He explains the material very well but his exams are killers. If you do not study hard then you will fail. Review his very detailed past exams solutions on D2L if you want to pass the class. Prof. Kimiti is very smart!
I took this Pre-Calculus in summer online. I really liked doing the summer class because it moved pretty fast which I liked but the prof. didn't really interact with us much. We used ALEKS which was a great, but you really just have to teach yourself. He gives you all the study tools but it's up to you to do it. It was neither good nor bad.
The reason I took this class (other than the credit) was that it was in person (which makes learning easier). However, all of his assignments are on ALEKS where homework can take 6 hours a day for 3-4 days every week to complete, if you have trouble with math like me. you have to teach yourself. I have not made above a 60 on the exams yet.
His exams are very similar to the practice tests. Complete all of them before the exam if you want to do well. Attend any help sessions that he offers such as SI or office hours at the lab. The recent exam was drawn 100% from the practice test. Out of the 50 questions, he picked 15. Ask questions in class. He loves to answer questions!
I'm surprised to see such a low rating for Professor Kimitei. He is wonderful! He is kind and calm person, also a little humorous as well. He is NOT such a harsh grader and he explains math concepts moderately well. I must admit, if you skip his classes, his tests will be a little challenging. Make sure you complete HW assignments and attend class.
He isnt an awful professor, but if you struggle in math like I do, prepare to have the worst semester of your college experience. Homework takes upwards of 6-8 hours a week to complete (thats underestimating), ive yet to make above a 52 on tests, and lectures are boring. Id rather have taken this class by another professor that taught better.
If it wasn't for his last test adjustment of the study guide being similar to the test, I would've dropped the class bc I suck at math. Break up the HW over the course of the week or you'll struggle. Four tests, aleks, final, and attendance. Lowest test replaced w/final. Formula sheet and calc allowed on tests!! He also gives partial credit !!
Our algebra class was very silent and he tried to get participation from us so I beg you to ASK QUESTIONS! He is more than happy to help you and it will help so much! Aleks as homework, time consuming, stay on top of due dates. practice tests test, numbered down to 15-20 question. He is caring, nice and passionate. very straight forward teaching.
As long as you participate in every class and do your homework, it is easy to get an A.
Easy to get an A if you attend all classes and do your homework
8-10 hours of homework weekly, the tests are crammed and he often goes over information for the next unit before even giving out the test for the previous one. If you don't do a problem the exact way he teaches it, you will get it wrong even if you get the correct answer. lectures are very quiet and it's easy to misunderstand what he is saying.
All his practice tests are online on D2L with solutions :). While he moves fast in his lectures, he often finds time to answer a few homework questions. His office hours are in an open lab and are super helpful for me. Since there are tonnes of homework assignments in the class, I have found it easier to start working on them very early!
He was an alright teacher. He made sure you really understood the problem on the board and went step by step with it. There was a lot of homework but if you didn't procrastinate it was not bad at all. Overall nice guy and you could tell he cared about his students.
Only class I took in-person/I regret it. If there's an online version take it. Tests were diffult since he would be looking for a specific answer. Lots of hw via Aleks which you need to pay for (do all hw). Attending lectures would prob. help but it didnt help me since I'm not an auditory learner. Good luck, I'm sure this class is passable though.
I took both his PreCal and Cal 1 classes and really enjoyed them. He does a great job of explaining each concept and goes back and explains anything you need to know in order to understand the current concept. It's definitely a class that you need to attend and pay attention to if you want to do well.
calculus is hard but he explains things very well and is always happy to answer questions or demonstrate difficult problems for the class. also replies to emails pretty quickly.
Good teacher, gives very in-depth lectures. Very understanding when things come up and has flexible deadlines
I took this my very first semester and it just wasn't a good choice on my part. Everything is on aleks, all major test are in person. Me not being the best at math doesn't help but he just never explain the problems he went over, he would just them on the board. if you have to take him definitely use the tutors on campus. he didnt respond to emails
Professor Kimitei is a kind and caring professional! There is a lot of homework on ALEKS. Be sure that you get 100s on every single homework assignment (even if you have to put it in Mathway to get it right) and do ALL of your D2L discussions because the tests can be kind of difficult- especially the final exam.
Goes over all topics in class and explains all topics clearly. Pay attention, show up, don't wait until the last minute to do the homework and you should be good. Make sure you do all the homework though. He gives homework extensions. Everything on ALEKS, tests in person. 3 tests + final. Final replaces lowest test
Kimitei is a very auditorial teacher which is not how I personally learn, so I was learning pretty much just from ALEKS, which isn't fun. Kimitei is a great person, but I did not feel like I could adequately learn in his class. I took pre-calc and AP calc in high school, but I still struggled through his class.
Professor K. is willing to help students however he can! You can tell that he loves what he does and really wants his students to learn. Expect to have to do homework (on ALEKS) at least a couple nights a week and study hard for your exams. Partial credit will be awarded, so never leave any exam questions totally blank.
Tons of homework, which in the end seems to not even tie into the actual test. He changed the format for the test twice so at that point you didnt know what to study for. He completely graded my first test wrong - shorting my grade by almost 9 points. It ended up going from barely a 50 to almost a 70. Multiple people experience the same Not great
Lots of homework which is expected in calculus. I guess he believes that the way to learn math is by doing it. Some of my classmates are busy with other things and lots of homework may stand in the way. His extra credit, homework, and amnesty for makeup have helped me. Take his class seriously and you will pass.
i took this professor based on the high ratings, maybe it is different for those of you who are looking into his class for precal but do not under any circumstance take his class for calculus it has been the worst experience the test are brutal take another class i usually dont leave reviews but i didnt want anyone else to get screwed the way i did
He is super nice, but let that not fool you. Do your homework and study really hard for his tests because he gives super hard exams. If you use his practice tests, you may get about 70% of the exam questions from it. He accepts homework extension requests and this can cause lots of homework to be due on the same date. Just pace yourself well.
I took this class thinking it would be easy. Not at all. I took precal about 3 years ago and I am kinda rusty. The intensity of algebra/ precal in calc1 is just but beyond me. If you don't want to make the same mistake as me, take calc1 immediately after precal when the ideas are still fresh. If you are weak in algebra and precal, you will fail.
Unless you like lectures the entire class period two times a week for almost two hours, don't take this course. Progress is slow and he doesn't follow the syllabus. We were so behind that he was teaching up until the last day of class. Additionally, he assigns 4-8 hours of homework a week on Mathlab. Good person, difficult professor to like.
SI sessions were canceled because no one showed up to them and that hurt. The SI leader & Prof. Kimtei always advertised the sessions but still, no one showed up. Too bad, many students want a good grade without work. If you don't like math, don't take him because he will want you to work for your grade. Don't take him if you hate lots of work!
Super nice guy! His love for math is clear since he shows lots of enthusiasm for math. Sometimes he rushes through while solving a problem and can make minor errors but still, he clearly shows that he is very knowledgeable. You will pass if you take his class seriously by doing your homework, attending all classes, and taking good notes!
This class was very overwhelming. He fell really far behind and ended up cramming 5-6 units before finals week, and often skipped over some, leaving us behind to have to learn on our own and having 6 homework assignments in a 5-day span (right before the final as well). Grades very harshly and does not teach you what will prepare you for the test.
The instructors is very knowledgeable about calc1 and also gave us lots of resources to utilize on D2L. Many of my friends struggled in the class because of algebra. If your algebra and precal skills is not that good, try your best to polish it. Calc1 becomes very difficult if you are weak in the two areas. Best of luck when you take him!
His class is fast but there is a lot to learn. We just took our first exam and it is exactly as he had outlined. I hope he continues to be nice. My goal is to keep my A. There are three exams and a final exam. Class discussions are 20% and homework is also 20% of the overall grade. The tests are 60% including a comprehensive final exam.
Kimitei is an excellent prof, calculus is just a difficult subject. If you don't put in the work, you won't get out of it what you "think" you should. Prof was great at communicating, he always let us know when we had a test and what we needed to study for it. Whenever people had questions he would work through extra problems. Highly reccomend!
Mr Kimitei is a really nice guy, it's just he's really unorganized. The final exam is really heavy. I had a 96 in the class all semester until we took the final exam. The exam was really long with no time left to work on it. Also Mr. Kimitei missed some classes and because of that, the whole class was affected cramming in 4 units before the final.
Prof. K is nice. He is well educated in math but doesn't understand how the concepts are difficult for students who struggle. An email I received from him stated, "I expect students to memorize every detail of the problems we go over in class.". He is unorganized with the class schedule making it hard to plan when your homework and tests will be.
Great professor, he basically tells you what is going to be on the exams. Pay attention to d2l as he takes most of the questions for exams from his powerpoints. The only downside is the ALEKS homework which can take a while but it rlly helps you understand the topics. 100% reccomend!
Awesome prof. Just do the HW and you won't even need to go to class. Gives 5 bonus points on exams which really helps. Very responsive to questions and will explain exactly what you need to do, even during tests. Only downside is he can get disorganized and sometimes make a mistake on a test, etc. Highly recommend!
bro never responds to emails
He was kind enough for a professor. However, he was inaccessible outside of class, and his thick accent made it very hard to learn from him in class. His lectures were very boring and not engaging at all. He uses alecks a ton so be ready for a lot of homework especially if you aren't already good with math. A lot of self-teaching is required.
ok so i had this professor because he was my last option if i had the choice to take online i wouldve. prepare yourself for little to no extra credit and if you fail 2 tests youre practically done for cause you will need 90 or higher on the final. he's good at explaining things but expect to be in the math lab 24/7 because of heavy work load.
This professor is good as long as you are actively participating and asking questions. His tests are not too difficult but you will need to study. Other than that he cares about his students a lot.
I have always been a very good student and have gotten above a 95 in every math class in my life. However, I failed every test in this class despite studying for over 40 hours in most cases. 2/3 of my exams were graded incorrectly. I have never struggled so much. Many of my fellow class mates feel the same. Professor Kimitei was a nice person tho.
This class was my downfall. It took up so much of my time and it wasn't worth it because I ended up getting a D. Honestly, I'm not sure why there aren't more bad reviews because there were At least 25 out of 60 people in my class not doing well and on the verge of having to retake the class.
Calc 1 with Professor Kimitei can be challenging, but if you stay engaged and utilize resources like Unstuck ai, you'll do well. He's enthusiastic about the material and provides helpful study tools, though the exams can be tough. With diligent effort, you can succeed in this class.
I honestly loved this class, he is the reason I got an A, his exam are pretty tricky but he would go over the things that would be on the exam and work on practice problems. I would take him again.
easy class but i passed on my own with no help from professor, would not take this professor again if i had to take a harder course because you do not learn anything from his lectures he does not break the material down at all and you have to teach yourself through ALEKS. there is constant homework that takes awhile usually.
He was very disorganized, which made the class confusing. I learned everything from the textbook; he had no lectures. However, he did give 6 attempts for quizzes and 2 for every test, which was nice. I probably wouldn't take him again if I can help it.
The instructor shared book publisher PowerPoint presentations, notes on D2L and past exams with solutions. The tests were given on ALEKS utilizing lockdown browser.
He's a kind person and his lectures are easy to follow along with. However his class is graded on very few things so if you fail one test you might as well drop the class. The practice tests are somewhat identical to the tests given. There are weekly homework assignments, biweekly class assignments, monthly tests and a final that is worth 20%.
He was an okay teacher, but he sometimes would make you learn stuff on your own. He initially gave me a 67, and it TOOK ME 3 EMAIL for him to check it and realize it was a 20 point difference. Mind you this was for a final exam. Overall, he is okay just stay on your toes.
I had Dr. Kimitei for a math prep course, and he was a very well-organized teacher. He's a very kind person and was easy to talk to. His lectures were enjoyable and easy to understand!
He was a nice man but very disorganized. Gets his own answer keys wrong. Had to push many due dates back bc of how long he took to get thru material. I wouldn't take him if you have another choice. If he's all you have, don't worry. But be ready to teach yourself a lot of the material. He does offer extra credit and notecards on tests.
Prof. Kimitri is amazing!. He takes time to teach the material and shows he loves math. He shows up on time and covers the material well. If he is not able to cover the material on time, he pushes due dates on homework. His teaching style allows me to prepare well for calculus. I have taken precal before but his teaching style is easier to follow.
Dr. Kimitei loves math and it shows in his work. Each of his class sessions is filled with class activities, theory and more learning. I like the way he is very knowledge about each subject matter in the course. Even when he makes a simple mistakes, it turns out to be a learning experiene for us in the class. I will take him again if I could.
Attendance is required but there's genuinely no point in showing up. His lectures are all over the place, and often times you don't leave class with any genuine understand of the material. ALEKS work is 90% of how you'll learn the material. He's a nice professor, but if you struggle in math don't take his class.
Professor Kimitei is a good professor. If you struggle in math, I wouldn't advise taking his class. He is very knowledgeable, and moves along pretty fast. He is very sweet and if you are struggling and you ask him for help, he is more than willing to help you. His exams, can be a little hard, but I would take his class again.
He is a very nice man very good teacher. He overexplains sometimes, but it can be super helpful for people who have difficulty understanding math quickly. There's weekly homework, but it can be pretty easy, and if you need any type of help, he is willing to help with anything. LOVED his class, and I would definitely recommend him.
