he is the best instructor that i have ever had. he is very kind and always care about you to learn every thing. he also mark your exams very fair. there are some online exams also, that you can get a better mark in them, to help your final mark. he is the best professor that i have ever had. He's a good teacher. If you have a question, he's more than willing to help. Also, it's easy to get a 90%+ IF you do a lot of practise questions. On his midterms, there's usually one question for one chapter. Good luck!

Good time managnment and always finish the class early. He explains the material clearly and several examples after explanation. But his exam is unpredictable sometimes

Sze is by far the best accounting prof I've had at Langara. If you do his assignments, and then redo the in class examples again, outside of class, you should have no problem doing well. He is very clear and helpful. He also has a pretty good sense of humour.

Classes aren't mandatory but they may as well be; His lectures are extremely helpful and he always makes sure we understand the content before moving on. I learned more from him in class than from the book but he uses the book to solidify his lectures so make sure you buy the book right away. And don't be afraid to ask questions! He won't bite! :P

This is my first accounting course and he makes me love accounting. He explains well and so willing to help students.Exam questions are so similiar to the assignment's and those we discussed in class.You will definitely get an A if you redo his assignment's and inclass discussed questions(less than 30in total).Final(40%)is so hard, but he scales it

Just ok. Final exam is so difficult but he scaled it up. Midterms are manageable. He does not give partial mark sometimes but I would say Ellen Hamer is still better. Overall, he is good.

Gives notes in class that summarizes chapters and go along with slides. Uses an easy-to-use textbook and makes accounting bearable even for those who suck at it!!! Keep up with the homework and do textbook examples for midterms and finals. one of the best teachers ive had so far at langara.

This is my first accounting course in Langara and he made me want to go to every lecture. He briefly goes over previous lectures in the beginning of every class to make sure everyone is on track. He has solid class notes that helps summarize everything. His midterms are easy if you reread the lecture and do textbook questions. He's also funny.

Fairly straight forward, funny. Exams are based on homework. Would have been good to get more feedback on assignments.

Put in some effort and you will get a good mark. Class average was like in the 75-80% range. Funny prof with clear notes and a relatively easy marker. In one of my assignments, all my calculations were wrong, and somehow he still gave me 75%.

This course combines accounting I and accounting II. If you are not a hard worker, or a person with some accounting knowledge, or have a knack for accounting, then this course is not for you. You should start from accounting I. Mr. Yip is great and I would recommend you his class. He is amicable, encouraging and informative.

Great teacher! One of the best. He's easy going. and treats everyone respectfully and fairly. Accounting isn't easy, but you'll learn lots and its not hard to get good grades.

You will have fun taking his class since he tells jokes as he teaches. Gives you credit if he thinks you knew the concept (even the calculations are wrong.) Easier than I thought to get high marks.

accounting II is hard, he makes it ok. he's a good teacher and as long as you put in the work, you'll do well in his class.

Yip is pretty good overall. He goes through material pretty quickly. If you don't have prior Accounting background, you may struggle a bit. This course is basically review of Accounting 11 and 12 in High school.

This prof is pretty average, not boring, but not energetic either. You could skip class and learn on your own because he follows the textbook exactly, and all his lecture notes are online. The midterms and the final are easy as long as you do the exercises, and don't fall behind

I liked his lectures a lot. It is helpful to have real life company situations explained from an accounting stand point. Some of the material is complicated so be prepared to do a bit of work to get a good grade. The trick getting a good grade is to practice by doing end of chapter questions.

Amazing teacher! I would definitely take him again even if I don't really need the class. for accounting, there is not much memorizing but more practicing. So attendance is highly recommended.

Sze is a great lecturer I ever had. He is funny and easy going. He will show you how to evaluate a business by using the financial accounting. Disney will be his best example, and you will soon to know why. The reason is very funny!

Really good professor. He walks you through the financial statements of many brand name companies which is very interesting. The lectures are always enjoyable and informative. I learned a lot!

His tests are pretty easy if you pay attention in class. He also scaled our midterm and final exams :)

Lectures were great, lots of discussions in class. Didn't use the textbook much, just pay attention in class and work through the cases. I learned a lot of interesting stuff.

Sze is hands down the best accounting prof. For someone who had very little prior knowledge of accounting, he explained everything so well and made everything so simple and easy to understand! I really feel like I have a good base in accounting thanks to Sze. I'm just sad he doesn't teach more classes I can take!

Sze-yip was a fair marker and provided outlines on what to study for midterms and finals. Any student who did not do well in his course, only has themselves to blame. If you put in the work for this class, it should have been an easy A. First midterm is fairly easy compared to a slightly more difficult final. Study a lil, you'll be gr8 ^_^

I took FMGT 1115 and 1215 with Sze and he is undoubtably the best accounting prof I have encountered at Langara. Class can be slightly boring at times but he makes the material easy to understand and provides several examples for each topic. Go to class, pay attention and you will get a good grade. I would highly suggest taking a class with Sze.

Amazing professor. It's rare to get the opportunity to have a professor who has actually made it in the real world doing what they are teaching. I really enjoyed his class but beware that he doesn't accept when students are full of it or trying to cheat. He also has a very dry, sarcastic sense of humour. I liked it, but others may not.

Mr Yip is a very confident and learned prof. He knows how to let student understand the knowledge. I don't have massive of homework from his class. If you finish his homework and attend the class, you would get at least 70%-80% in every single test and exam. Ask him questions after class if you have something you don't understand after class.

You must attend all classes to get the full 10% on participation. His notes and case studies are sufficient enough for you to get a good grade on the midterm. The final is only tougher because some questions just require a lot of organization skills so pay close attention to how he solves the cases in class. Group project just follow his guidelines

Overall he's a good accounting teacher. Takes the time to explain theory and allows students to work on questions before explaining and sharing solutions. Midterms and exams are similar questiones from class. I don't know if it's just me but I crack up every class when he says one miwwion instead of million.

Mr. Sze is the funniest teacher I've ever had. He tries to teach accounting on the easiest way possible, from the bottom to those who don't have an accounting background. His exams are hard, but if you practice at home with the book's exercises and his homework you will pass the course. His sarcastic sense of humour is the best part of the class.

Sze is a good instructor. He's kind of intimidating, so I found it hard to approach him to ask questions or for help. However, he does alot of in-class practice questions and his exams fairly reflect the in-class lectures. He has a lot of experience in the accounting industry as well. He's a fair grader, but he takes a while marking the exams.

Sze is super nice. And he makes accounting so much fun. Super easy going. Def choose his class again!!

Mr. Yip is super funny and not a difficult grader at all. If you take his half-semester course, be prepared because it will fast paced. You will get a few assignments every week, but each of them are easy to complete with careful reading and critical thinking. Expect group work. I personally loved his class and would take it again!

I am taking his online class right now, his lesson is easy to understand. I love the way he teaches. All homework and test are in Willeyplus, so you need to buy Willeyplus.

Organized & easy to follow. Lectures are simple and interesting enough to keep you awake with his subtle sense of humor. Work hard and learn the material well in the beginning and you'll be fine. Just DON'T get behind for any reason.

Had this guy for 2 classes already (BUSM 1115 and FMGT 2293), and both times he was a great instructor. Let's you know what is expected from you and is very organized. Great lecture videos and notes. Tests are usually on Pearson myLab and is multiple choice. He's a no BS kinda guy but is also pretty funny. Great prof!

Excellent professor. He knows how to teach, has a vast knowledge of accounting, has years of experience in teaching, and the grading criteria is straightforward. 20%- Assignments 20% * 3 Tests 20% Final exam All tests were well-spaced.

You can understand his lessons very well and he have a great humor, he is also approachable.

He teaches very good and makes things very understandable. I would really like to get my other course in future if he teaches. He engages the students in her teaching and ask question what we learned yesterday and ask for some definitions which makes you learn better and revised. Which I really like.

Mr. Yip is a great teacher. He is really good at teaching accounting and can make things easier for us to understand. If you attend all of his classes and read through his lectures, as well as the questions he specifically requests us to work on at home, you should be able to get at least 80% in this class.

The prof makes lessons very clear and engaging. Though the tests can be challenging, unstuckstudy and the free textbook help a lot. Definitely worth taking this class.

His lectures are engaging and connected to current events. The midterm and final are challenging but manageable. The textbook includes built-in AI to support your learning.
