She is a great teacher! Bio is a tough subject to explain so most of the lecture is by powerpoint, but she is more than happy to answer your questions although some may be beyond the realm of biology. You are responsible for your grade. Take advantage of all the study guides on Mastering Bio. Read the book. Make flashcards. Its a hard subject!

I took Dr Clark's class last semester and it was the hardest class I've ever taken. This was my first semester in college and I think Dr. Clark expects a lot. I really liked going to class. I had to study a lot but she was fair and always gave me what I needed to get a good grade on the exams. If you're serious you will do well

Denise is an AWESOME Biology teacher! She simplifies biology so anyone can understand it! Btw, don't buy the book, it's not necessary. Dr. Clark was straightforward and to the point with her lectures. Occasionally, she gets a little off track, but always comes back to her point. Tests were moderate if you studied, easy if you did the homework. Lab was lots of fun. I would recommend her to anyone taking bio for the first time like me.

I took AP bio in high school and thought I shouldn't have to take bio181 in college. I found out fast that I didn't know as much as I thought I did. Dr Clark stays after class to answer questions. She is most patient and will work with you for as long as you want. She answers questions during class. She has a study group every week. Her tests are just what she says they will be. If you do homework the tests are easy.

Well, this was the best science course ever. Prof Clark was so easy to talk to and clearly really cared about how things were going for us. I got something interesting out of every class period. Tough exams, but absolutely fair. Expectations were very clear. Study guides were very helpful.

Honestly, this class was so much better than I thought it would be, in the summer. Dr. Clark was not at all the typical scientist. Really nice lady, wasn't a huge fan of the way she lectured. A lot of it was her talking about the concepts without any visual aids or many examples in class, so it was hard to stay focused for the whole time. This class is hard, but Prof Clark really does help you through it. You can tell she really cares about her students. Really nice, always answers email back. The actual online class is a lot of work, but if you put in time and effort you should be able to get a good grade easily. I also recommend to get ahead as their are certain times where you get projects and it gets hectic, but the entire course schedule is available from the start.

Prof Clark does a great job explaining concepts though class did put me to sleep a few times. She is very responsive outside of class and willing to help whenever possible. I would gladly take another class from Dr. Clark. She does lecture a lot, but has a great voice for it: no accent, good volume and pacing, occasional jokes to aid in remembering certain things. The assignments and tests are evenly spaced out, you actually retain most of the information during the semester rather than having to cram.

Great Professor! Super nice and easy going. Lectures aren't mandatory but highly recommended. The tests are basically solely lecture based. I got a C on the first test by reading the textbook. On the 2nd test I studied lecture notes and went to her study groups and got an A.

Lectures are explained well. She posts full slides online. Tests are based off of lectures not readings. I would recommend going to office hours with questions.

Dr. Clark is super nice and her lectures are interesting. She gives small assignments in lecture and lab that are easy and help your grade. You have to study a lot and read for the lecture exams, but the lab is pretty easy. Would recommend taking Bio with Clark!

She is a good professor and is very funny and approachable. She covers A LOT in lectures and moves quick and packs a lot of content into every test, but there are a lot of other opportunities in other areas to get better scores (extra credit) if you're not a great test taker. Lectures aren't mandatory but lecture assignments are given out randomly.

Clark is great. She is super easy to get along with and is approachable. Everything is the class is mapped out clearly and is very reasonable. She doesn't rush the class and is very understandable that students are busy.

Yes bio 181 is a really hard class, but if you work hard enough the tests are not so bad. She writes down everything you need to know during lecture and makes it clear what you need to know. easy A if you study what she tells you to study. Just study super hard and ask her for help if needed. She is a wonderful person.

Very kind professor, FASTEST RESPONSE TIME EVER She clearly has put alot of time and thought into her material. Tests are short, which is nice but that means one question wrong has a big impact on grade. online classes are harder than on campus classes but Dr Clark makes it easier.

I really enjoyed this class because of her teaching style. She does cover a great amount of content in her lectures, so it is important to be paying attention. I could get by with using the textbook just to look up things I didn't completely understand, but it is a great tool if you miss class. Great teacher and great class!

Shes got a great personality. This class has a lot of material, and she makes you work for it. She wants you to learn and comprehend the material and learn how to study for later BIO classes. Its a hard class and you have to put work in. You learn a lot of information.

If you have a Biology class that is required for your major or interest, I 100% recommend taking the biology class with Dr. Clark. She always is available to talk whether it is before, after, or outside class she always wants to make sure you aren't struggling and ASK question throughout the 50-minute class! There's literally not enough I can say about this woman. I used to HATE all sciences with a passion but she manages to speak at a GREAT learning level, she's so helpful and would catch me in the hall after a test every now and then and have a genuine talk with me. Its easy to follow along you just have to pay attention. She sometimes gave cool experiment demos at the end of class too.

Professor Clark cares about students as real people with real lives. When my finger got infected, she got very worried, put bandage on it, and told me to go to the urgent care right after class. Her classes are easy to understand if you study. I learned more from her than any other teacher so far.

I was terrified to take science at MCC, but Dr. Clark spent the time to explain difficult concepts. If you want to succeed in this course, attend lectures frequently, do all the worksheets and actively participate. She's really kind and cares about your success.

I took Prof Clark for bio 181. I am terrible at biology, but she made it fun and relatively easy for me. She is very caring towards her students and easy to approach. Her exams are hard, but fair, just do the study guide, watch the videos and look over the powerpoints.

She's a very good professor, the class was just extremely dull to me, many people loved it though. She makes it clear what she wants you to know, and her tests are very fair, but study all of her powerpoints. I didn't pick up the book once, not necessary at all. Dr. C is super nice. She makes you work but as long as you go to class you should be good. She's really helpful with each assignment so they're not hard to complete. Also, she's so caring about her students! You should go to her study groups every week so she knows you're trying to learn. It will make a difference.

This class is a lot of work and you have to do all of it. The material is incredibly interesting, but just gets a bit overwhelming at times. I do recommend it, just be aware of the time commitment you get into. She will give you everything you need to get a solid grade but you still have to study.

Absolutely wonderful professor... I honestly feel privileged to have been taught by this woman. She is completely brilliant and teaches from a technical prospective. She does not dumb down but does give fun analogies. I have learned so much from her and would recommend her to anyone.

This teacher makes time for you outside of class if you need help. BIO 181 introduced a lot of new concepts as well as laboratory work for me, but I was able to get a good grade. Dr. Clark grades fairly and tries to make the course accessible for everyone, even those who have never been in a lab before.

Dr. Clark is very passionate about cells and chemistry of cells and this passion shines through in her lectures. Her quizzes are rather easy if you pay attention. Her tests are challenging, but fair. The grading is overall very fair and you can she truly wants everyone to do their best.

Dr. Clark had me looking forward to Bio201 because she was a pretty good professor. She gives pre tests, allows cheat sheet for tests, and has a lot of extra credit opportunities. Just show up to class! She says it herself, it's very hard not to pass the class. Lab was super laid back, definitely always got to leave early.

This is the one class that I recommend you do ALL the extra credit assignments no matter how annoying they are. I'm taking this class right now. when we had to go online suddenly I was afraid. Dr. Clark made is easy. She is available all day at any time. She has online meetings and is so nice. If you have to take an online class you should take your online class from Dr. Clark. You won't regret it.

Dr Clark is amazing. I have beaucoup questions and she is always there for me. When I ask for a meeting she sets up an online chat that very day. I am in her summer class and its hard but she makes it ok. She has talked to me online every week since class started. I was afraid of online but her class is like a one on one private class.

Online is not my first choice but this teacher makes it easy to know exactly what to do and when to do it so you can get a good grade. Class is organized with clear instructions and clear grading. If you can get in her class, do it. Don't be afraid of online. Dr Clark makes it easy.

Dr Clark is very nice!! I am currently on vacation and she offered to give me extra time on my labs and homework! WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. :)

I took her class in the summer. It was hard and I didn't like that she made us do so much work. Now I love her. I am in A&P now and it's so much easier for me compared to other students who didn't take Dr Clark's class. Dr Clark will make you work and you might hate her at the time but she's the best. She will make you ready for next class.

Online is not my choice but it has to be ok right now. Some online classes are little work and some are a lot, This class is a lot of work but I can already see that I have learned a lot and only half way done. If you do the work you'll get an A, it's that simple. I love Dr Clark. She is online 2 hours every day and will help you with your work

My favorite teacher. Class is a lot of work but Dr Clark helps you. If you need extension she gives it. If you have a question she is there. My favorite thing is online office hours. Almost nobody is there so it's like I get one on one discussion whenever I want. Oh and don't forget extra credit. A lot of extra credit.

well organized. every 8 days you get a new chapter assignment with homework and quizzes and some labs. It's online so there aren't lectures but I visited Dr. Clark in Zoom 3 times every week and sometimes more. It was like I was the only student in the class. She is the best. you will work for it but she makes it an easy A if you do what she say

Dr. Clark is one of those teachers that you read about. You can tell that she really cares about her students. I wish I could meet her in person. The Zoom meetings have been next best thing. The work is hard and takes time but she gives you more than one try at homework and quizzes. Study and ask questions to get your A.

one word for this class, wow. hard but fair. available all hours. this class took a lot of time and I didn't like it sometimes but now it's over and I learned more than I thought. I never took a class and learned so much. If you can commit yourself to the work you won't be sorry. she will help you if you ask. best online class ever.

My friend ask me what is big complaint against Dr Clark. I say the only complaint is she does not teach more biology classes. I took her class online last year and it was so hard but I learn alot. I ask her if she teaches more classes and she said no only bio181. I would take more classes with Dr Clark. Its hard but worth it. Do it.

Clarks bio class will make you learn. if you want to skate don't take Clark. I had her 2 years ago and dropped. Now I'm in her class online. I already learned more in 1 month than in 3 on campus. I get to see her every day in zoom. She answers email fast. There are no lectures but alot of videos and her meetings are like short lectures.

When I started this semester I thought I hated this class but I stuck with it. I'm shocked how much I have learned. Clark is always available. I have a meeting with her every week if I want to and if you ask she will work through the problems with you. Don't be afraid to ask. She is super and so easy to get along with.

This is a hard class and I was afraid to enroll after reading a couple of bad reviews but I'm happy I did. Dr Clark is available almost all the time. I meet with her every day on zoom and she stays with me as long as I need her to. Her quizzes are the hardest but you get two chances to take each one. You WILL HAVE TO WORK but you WILL LEARN.

I like this class but I am a biology nerd. She treats us like we are at a university not just a community college. My friends say Dr Clark should lower her standards because if we wanted to be at university we would be there. She asks for a but if you work at it you will get a good experience and the bonus is you only paid community college rates

I took this class to review before my MCAT. This class took alot of time but I feel totally prepared. Thank you Dr Clark for this sweet class. You covered everything I needed and in so much detail.

I'm in this class right now. It's summer school and everything is fast and furious. I'm working on biology all the time. There's no time for many other things but I would enroll in Clark's bio online again if I had to do it again. Summer school is no fun but I am learning tons.

I took this class last Fall and hated it. I thought Dr Clark was unreasonable and expected too much. I cried, struggled, but stuck with it. She says you learn more than you think. Now I'm in physiology in California and because of Dr Clark I already know what's what and how things work. Physiology is easy because of Clarks bio. take her online

Hard but fair. If you have trouble she will give you more chances to take quizzes for grades. If you ask for help she will spend hours with you in a zoom call. there is extra credit if you need it. if you want to learn about biology take Clark. if you want to breeze to an easy grade without learning take someone else. Clark will make you learn.

If I had to take this class again I would take it from Dr Clark. I worked my butt off but I learned. What I like the most is Dr Clark is always available. If you want to meet in a zoom call she will meet anytime of the day. You just have to show you have tried. Sometime she gives answers but sometimes guides you to find answers.

I had to drop this class but I wish I hadn't. You should take bio from Clark. I am in another bio181 at the same campus now and I learned more in 1 month with Dr Clark than in 2 months with this other professor. The difference is Dr Clark treats us like college students not high school students. She expects you to work but helps you if you ask

its online so expect to read and make time for videos and homework. its hard but its worth it.

This class is organized and easy to follow. You need to spend time to work on assignments but you will never wonder what's due. Everything is clear. You know what's due and when. She grades assignments quick so you never feel like you don't know how you're doing.

Science is hard for me and this class was hard but I learned more than I thought was possible in a summer class. I'm an older returning student and was in shock at the beginning but follow the rules and you will get a good grade. She gives you 3 chances to take each quiz and 2 chances to take the final and gives you 2 days to do each one.

If you need to take bio181 you should take this class. I loved it. It was hard but Dr Clark gives you so many chances to improve your grade. I was going to wait to take this class when they start offering it on campus again but I'm happy I went ahead and took Dr Clark online instead. She's easy to talk to and always available, almost 24-7.
