This man is very funny, and is always there when you need help.
this teacher cares,,,forget all the stereotypes of the typical math instructor...this man is funny and cares for his students...and who the heck put that he was HOT?....ha ha ha i'm kiddin....take math 120 it'll be your only chance to get out of skyli
this teacher is CLEAR.. he explains very well and sometimes he jokes around. He also sometimes let the class have a day off. Tests are easy if you go to class everyday.
His teaching style makes it very easy to unterstand the subject. You may not love the subject when your finished, but you will understand it.
he is one of the best teachers i've ever had...he is hella funny,, and makes everything look very simple..he is always happy.
!!!!!BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!! MR. T is the best teacher i have had in a long time. He helps you understand math and at the same time make you laugh so hard you will cry! He truly is one of the best! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
Excellent teacher. He will go out of his way to make the problem make sense to you. and if you still dont understand, you can see him again during office hours. Tests are mostly on examples given in class. take notes and listen and you will pass.
this is the worst teacher i have ever had.Very He is very unclear to explain calculus 3 plus he doesnt really know what he is talking about. He hadn't taught calculus 3 for the last 3 years!! Overall, if he doesnt know you from MESA center, then you are screwed. Avoid him.... The dude is a joke
I have taken others math classes with him before, but I didn't really like how he taught this class. What saves him from being a totaly lousy teacher is that his tests are really easy. Consists mostly of examples done in the class, and maybe a few from the HW.In my opinion Take 253 at CSM, you have more choices of instructors there and a better text
Wonderful teacher! Explains things very clearly and takes a lot of time on questions. Jokes around, kicks textbook across room. Nice test policy lets you earn back some points. Great for Intermediate Algebra!
Mr. Tsuchida, I know you are reading this: Arrrrrr... The class was enjoyable and the material was given well. The textbook was of questionable quality in my opinion, but was good enough. I know the material and understand the concepts well after the class. His lectures were clear enough for me to stop taking notes completely after two days.
This was a hard class in general, but Tadashi made it both interesting and easier by giving good examples and relating it to real-world experience. If you have to take Calc III, take it with Tadashi :)
He is very helpful and has a sincereness to him that he wants to help his students. He's real nice and just don't miss class because he goes pretty fast.
Super cool teacher. He's really easy-going and makes a lot of jokes during his lectures. Makes material really easy to understand. Easy tests.
Great teacher. He doesn't check homework so it is up to you to do it yourself. Which you should because it'll help you a lot on tests and quizzes. Best thing is that he allows you to use notecards and class/homework on quizzes to help you and notecards on tests. Very good class, I would highly reccomend him.
He is an excellent teacher, very helpful and funny, I never understood math until I took his class, so I highly recommend it for anyone taking beginning math classes. As he always saids: "Algebra is the foundation of all subsequent math classes." So pay attention if you want to survive in the world, you'll thank me later. Math is important. Take hi
Teaches class until it is understood in whole. Test after each chapter, which are kind of difficult. He's a hardass on grading, but doesn't take roll or collect homework. His availability outside of class is terrific. As long as he isn't teaching, he's helping. I LOVE YOU PROF. TSUCHIDA, YOU'RE THE BEST!
he is a nice guy but i dont like his teaching style. He rushes through lectures and doesnt give clear examples. If he does give example he cuts through short cuts which he assumes ppl know. Personally i need all steps written out. You also can only ask a couple questions on previous lectures cause he is rushing to continue with lecture. SUCKS
Very good teacher, if you have questions he'll have the patience to go over with you.
this man is a great teacher, very clear with everything and also very helpful. best math teacher WORLD. GIVE THIS MAN AN AWARD.
I hate math but he made the class almost fun w/ his great sense of humor. It's still my least-favorite subject but he made it tolerable. Very patient, explains well, very helpful. He did win a teaching excellence award - which he definitely deserves. Check out his web site, he's a great photographer too.
Hes the best math teacher skyline has... that Ive taken. Hes funny upbeat and his class is easy, homework is done everynight online but is easy. Way fun calss you gotta take him
This professor is outstanding. He has the patience of going over problems and I love his lectures. If you keep up on H.W, quizzes and tests you'll do just fine.
GREATEST TECHER EVER, FUNNY AND NICE. HE DESERVES A FRICKING AWARD
Where to begin... He's a really cool guy with an awesome personality. He lectures in a manor that you can understand the material, even makes up his own weird way of explaining things that actually do help.He jokes around but is very serious about his work.If you're having trouble understanding something just ask him, he'll explain it.Great teacher
I actually took Calculus III several semesters ago. I have now transferred to a different school. I still remember some of his lessons (about double integration). Best advice I have for you is GO TO CLASS EVERYDAY AND DO THE HOMEWORK!! His exams/quizzes are all similar to the homework problems. If you just do the homework, you will get it.
great teacher!
gives you way little time to do quizzes and tests other than that good teacher
If you can, take math 110 with Tsuchida. He explains the material thoroughly and is willing to work with students outside of class. If you are good at math, and even if you're not, Tsuchida is the professor to take! He gives mainly online homework so just buy the mathlab code if you can. In all a great teacher and very helpful.
Professor Tsuchida is what a professor should be, helpful and accommodating in/outside of class. He's the best Math teacher there is and truly cares about his students' understanding of subject. I highly recommend him!
He's good as an instructor. One negative thing about him is that he favors some students sometimes if he likes them. One time he allowed one girl to take her exam back after all the students left the classroom because she claimed she didn't see one of the questions Despite the fact that he told everyone that they can't go ovet the time limt.
his quiz and exams are very hard, and if you get wrong a little thing on one section of one problem, he will take out a lot of point(about 5 points, that is a very big number to affect your grade) don't take him anyway!~~`
He's a decent teacher, lectures are allright and thorough. Goes over everything in class. On tests though, anything other then a minor arithmetic mistake will cost you major points. Even if you did a good chunk of the problem right. Always willing to help in office hours, is there for the student.
He's a great teacher, he does what he can to make things clear. His tests are hard, so make sure you know all of the material. He keeps you posted on grades to know where youre at. Great teacher, just do the online hw and do well on the tests. He is also very nice and funny!
Tadashi is awesome! Seriously, his lectures are crystal clear, he's really helpful, and the guy is the best math teacher I ever had! Highly recommend the guy! Keep doing your thing Mr. T!
Mr. Tsuchida is a fantastic teacher, really. My only warning is that if you are dying, working 8 jobs, house burns down, raising 65 children by yourself or suddenly homeless, he will have no pity or grant any exception, under any circumstance. If you are 100% available and/or living with your parents, then he is a reasonable choice for instruction.
He is an awesome teacher and is always trying to help students understand math. He takes time in class to answer questions. He is very serious about math but makes jokes during class. He is awesome and I look forward to taking 123 with him next semester.
Calculus 2 is an extremely difficult class, but he does his best to ensure that everyone understands the subject matter and concepts. He is very helpful and goes above and beyond for his students to succeed in the course. Healthy class setting, very conducive to learning. Take him. :)
Just ok teacher. IF you really want to learn and laugh while learning Calculus 2 take Prof. Evan Leach. I heard he is pretty good.
Mr. Tsuchida is the best math teacher I have ever had! He's super nice, outrageously funny, very approachable and not mention very CUTE :)! He makes the class entertaining and fun! If Mr. Tsuchida was teaching Math 200 Statistics, I would absolutely take him again!Keep up the awesome work Mr. Tsuchida:D
the number one thing i dont like about this guy is that he's not good at helping you out personally. you will ask a question and he will do somehing like "well let me show you how to do this on a different problem" he doesnt give you direct help on a problem, he tries to show you "helpful" tricks and it really does not help
Very good teacher! I hight recommend you taking him!
The perfect math teacher. Crystal clear, challenges you without being ridiculously hard. We had 5 tests, and weekly hw. His office hours are excellent, and he explains everything beautifully. Just take him, and DO YOUR WORK. He doesn't like those who slack off.
Tsuchida is a great professor. He is incredibly clear and explains things very well and even relates it to real life things such as physics and business. He is very helpful in office hours and he is fair. Class was challenging but he doesn't make it unnecessarily difficult. He is kind and approachable. His class was truly fun!
He teaches really good and clear! One of the best math teachers I've ever had! I recommend him!
Hands down the BEST teacher you will ever have. I took him for calc 2 and 3 and I can't believe I'm actually sad about being done with math. He really cares about his students and if you make use of his office hours you won't regret it. He is a wonderful human being and a fabulous teacher. Very happy I had the chance to be in his class :)
BEST math teacher i've encountered at skyline. Everything you can expect from a teacher and more. Thoroughly impressed. Teaches clearly, test are based on material taught in class, teacher is humorous, and easily approachable and willing to help. Review is reflective of his math 120 class. Calc may be different, who knows.
Awesome teacher!! Loved this class. He teaches clearly and makes things understandable. If you don't understand something he will personally assist you. Again, he teaches with clarity and ease. Fun class & fun teacher.
Loved him! VERY helpful and easy to approach. He is always there to answer any questions or clarify something that you don't understand. He does have a sense of humor to keep the class going as well. Personally, math is not my subject, but I would recommend Mr. Tsuchida because of how helpful and approachable he is . His test and hw are fair too.
Great teacher, very helpful very nice. Daily routine is basically: he lectures, gives out a worksheet (not-graded) that covers what was just taught, and then just work on worksheet for the rest of class, and during this time you can ask him for help. There's a test after each chapter. All homework is online. Class is very straight-forward.
I hated math before this class. Now I am a firm believer with a great teacher like Tadashi math is now my best friend. He was thorough, helpful & funny.
He is the best Math professor at Skyline! I was terrified of Math and hadn't taken a Math class in over ten years. He was extremely helpful. I would send pictures of my homework and he would tell me if i'm on the right track. Very easy to approach, really wants you to be successful. Awesome Awesome teacher!!
tadashi's great, he is very thorough in his lessons. All homework is online, there's a test after every chapter, he is somewhat of a tough grader but very helpful and I thought it awk jokes were hilarious funny guy, just be ready to do some work
this guy is overrated. This is not the class for you if you fall behind a little. catching up is hard.i fell behind alil and asked for help and he said" i cant help you because you have to already understand this section in order to understand the section were on"HE SAID THAT 5 TIMES. i dont even go to class anymore.i see a tutor and still get a B
BEST TEACHER I have EVER TAKEN. All the qualities of a great professor. Lectures are extremely clear, and he allows for you to do questions and ask questions in class, which helps reinforce material before quiz or test. Doesn't throw any curve balls. Class is straightforward and easy to keep track of progress in class.
He is a good teacher easy everyday is notes and then you work on a worksheet and walks around if anybody needs help don't have to turn in worksheet, gives you a couple days for hw, can use a notecard on test,i recommend him,
Cracks jojes all though out class. He's always there to help and his office hours are right after class. Take him!!!
This guy is the best math teacher ever! He gives super clear and structured notes everyday in class, all you have to do is take good notes, study them (calculus is a hard subject) and ask questions if you need help. Tadashi is super helpful and caring, he really wants us to succeed. Everything you need to know for the tests comes from the lectures.
Super structured. Super clear and helpful. Perfect for a math teacher. Also very friendly and funny. Everything you need for the test comes from the lecture and you practice it for hw. Tadashi really cares about his students. All you need to do is come to class everyday and take good notes (and study them too). Definitly an amazing math teacher!
Honestly, one of the best math teachers at Skyline College. He's nice and patient at explaining something you dont understand, if you just ask him. He stresses that it's very important that you attend class everyday at your scheduled time bc a decrease in attendace means a decrease in your grade.
This instructor is great! I can only say great things about him. He is always willing to help and is always looking out for the future of students. He is very fair and if there is something he feels the class is lacking he will try to help as much as possible. Best instructor Ever!
He's a good professor, he'll make you work hard if you want the grade. He gives the drop a lower test grade and replace with the grade from the final if you have a high enough HW score.
Tough grader on exams. Good luck if you take him
Failed his class because I didnt try hard enough but something made me feel that it would be ideal retaking his class because he was that passionate about his job. I feel like a lot of students take him for granted. One of the best teachers, not the easiest class but he makes it interesting. Very helpful & funny, organized and clear. Highly suggest
If you can do all the homework problems, you'll get an A on the test. My only issue is that he tells us about tests literally a day in advance.
Great teacher! Explains everything throughly, patient, and he's hilarious. You do get a lot of homework, there's book work (collected at beginning of each test) and online. Attendance is important to passing. Show up on time, don't procrastinate, do your hw and you'll be just fine. He gives no extra credit. Textbook available for free online.
Professor Tsuchida is a very strict but friendly instructor. His tests are easy 100% if you know wth is going on. If he sees you understand the material, he gives a lot partial credit even you made a big mistake on a the test problem, and vice versa.
Instead of giving examples to teach, he makes you figure it out with the knowledge you already have. Online homework is basically teach yourself and read from the online text because he doesn't teach as much as he should during class. He makes the material confusing and is well aware of it, but doesn't do anything about it. Class is teach yourself.
He is very clear and will help you. The tests are easy if you did the homework because they're very similar. Take notes. He lets you have a notecard (cheat sheet) for chapter tests.
Lectures mostly involve him giving formulas & explaining without many examples. Online homework is what he talks about in lecture, but harder. Tries to build your math sense by giving word/physics problems instead of going straight to the math & spends whole class periods for the class to figure out them. Assigns homework without telling the class.
He gives formulas that you read from the book but doesn't give too many examples and the ones he give are the easy ones. Gives ton of word problems and assigns online homework without telling the class. Tests were alright, similar to the homework problem.
I absolutely loved him! He was one of the best professors I have ever taken for college. He's very helpful and clear when it comes to the material. Even if you need help, he will try in his best ability to explain things in different ways. He really does care about his students, plus his positive attitude made me interested in actually learning.
class is basically teach yourself. gives few examples and spends more time having you figure the material out on your own and talking about why what you're learning is important as opposed to giving more examples.
he gives problems for us to do for entire class periods and doesnt go over how to solve them. he gives examples don't help much. notes he gives you are more or less straight outta a textbook. you're better off looking up videos how to do the work he assigns unless youre good at learning from a textbook and forming study groups with friends.
Great teach, great class! Lectures are great. If you miss something you can grab it easily through online work. He is very consistent in his test, that is good. He gives extra time on the test, so it prevent you from doing silly mistakes. Sometimes he is giving some fun material, just to make us interested in subject. Take him!!!
teach yourself and online work has more cons than pros
Definitely would not recommend. Does not follow the textbook. He claims that he cares more about the process than the right answer when it comes to grading on tests. This simply is not true. Gives very little credit if you try to solve a problem. Inaccessible when contacting him out of class. There are much better professors than him.
I've had Tadashi for Math 120, Math 130 and taking him for Math 222 currently. I love his teaching style and his "test forgiveness act" is a life saver!Basically what it is, is that he drops your lowest test grade and replaces it with whatever you get on the final. The only condition is that you have to have a 95% or higher in HW. Best thing ever!
Great teacher. He explains the material for half of the class time, then lets us do practice problems while he walks around and helps people. He explains everything clearly. I got an A pretty easily. I would take him again if I could.
Great calc teacher, he takes the time to explain the material. If you don't understand it, you can always go to his office hours or stay a little after class. All the homework is on Wiley and he gives an average amount. He makes sure the class understands the material and is funny, kindhearted person.
I wouldn't recommend taking his class, he only cares about his reputation without helping students to succeed in learning Calculus. The reason he gives hard tests is that other students blaming him. If you did not answer a question without his idea in the class, he will drop you a letter grade.
Beware of taking this class. Homework is alright if you understand it, but if you don't, go to the learning center. However, his tests are a bit hard and WORTH 70% of your grade. He doesn't give you much good examples too. If you fail a test, it can be replaced with what you get on your final, but only if you have 95% or higher on your homework.
Honestly a great teacher. One of the best math professors i've had. He made calculus 3 easy to understand because he explains the material very well. He cares, but is a little hard to reach outside of class because he is very busy. Very homework heavy, but rewarding if you put in the work.
After reading the reviews, I was surprised. He was super friendly and accessible outside of class time. I loved his lectures and found that he graded tests very fairly. He gave credit where it was due. He also prepped some extra study material for me over the summer. Looking forward to taking Calculus 2 and 3 with him!
He is lecture heavy although I found that they didnt really help when it came to the hw. There are about 4 exams during the semester which cost a lot of your overall grade although if you have a 95% overall hw grade, you can drop your lowest test score. Would not recommend taking him unless you already have a solid grasp of calculus.
It baffles me that Tadashi has any bad reviews he is the best math teacher at skyline he is really good at explaining things in simple clear terms what he teaches is exactly what is on his tests as long as you pay attention to his lectures, study your notes, and get help on anything your unclear about it will be a breeze! He's a really nice guy
When I took precal with Tadashi, he does not follow precal curriculumn, he teaches you unnecessarily advance math like vectors, limits. It is good, but THIS IS PRECAL. Also, he does not care about students effort. You will have heavy tests and he forces you to fail for sure!!!
I took so many easy professors before. Professor Tadashi class is very hard. Moreover, he is very good at explanation. His class is very hard if you only care about calculating, but if you understand the concept, his exam will be a piece of cake.
Tadashi is very good at explanation. He uses a WebWork for homework assignments. His homework is more difficult than tests. However, homework is very useful to succeed in class.
Tadashi is the hardest professor ever, Just to be aware, his exams are worth 70 PERCENT grade and it is nearly impossible to pass. However, if you want to learn about math, take him, again his class cause a lot of stress. I would say for those who are math wizards, you can survive his class.
Tadashi is amazing, hes incredibly patient and kind. This was by far the hardest math class I have taken and Tadashi helped me go from a C- to an A in the class. Always willing to answer questions, in fact he loves them. Just an all around wonderful professor and human being. I will definitely be taking him again.
The class is very exam heavy. He uses class examples for the exam so take good notes. One missed problem can be crucial and drop your exam grade to a mid B. Hard class but one of the best teachers Ive ever had.
Took him for MATH130, MATH222 and now MATH251. You have to be trying to fail this class. He provides a billion resources for extra help and office hours. He encourages participation and questions. He shows little tricks to simplify the problems. I plan on taking him through all my Calc classes if possible!
It is not a professor's job to make a the material easy. His classes are hard, sure, but he is the best professor I have ever had, he's willing to help you with every step and explains everything very well. He cares a lot about the student's actual understanding of the material and not just your grade. He helped me go from a D- to an A+. Best teach
Tadashi is such a good professor. While his material is hard, he wont fail to help you understand it. He will sometimes stop to make sure everyone understands the material before moving on, he loves is when people ask questions. If you do your homework then you will easily pass his tests.
Tadashi is the best math professor I've ever come by. He literally is the GOAT. He makes the lecture super easy. His homework are challenging, but just give them a try. Try to be active in class and go to his office hours, you will get good marks for sure.
Trig - Math130, 2019. The notes never reflected any of the tests exactly and he said before withdraws that if you aren't getting it by now, drop the class. Lots of material. If u have always had trouble with math & need things dumbed down, I wouldn't. The class was heavily relied on a software that you have to pay for monthly. Waste of time and $.
Professor Tadashi is the best. He takes his time to make sure you understand him, and his style of teaching is great. As long as you don't slack and you are ready to do the work, I promise you will enjoy his class.
Tadashi's probably your best bet if you wanna take MATH 252 at Skyline. He's pretty thorough in terms of lecturing. I got through his online class without going to many lectures. Go to office hours if you need help - it's worth it. Hw is loosely related to tests, so don't stress if the hw doesn't make sense. Use ex problems in lectures to study.
Best professor I've ever had. Explains things clearly and makes it easy to understand. Helpful when you have questions, and he genuinely wants you to succeed.
Tadashi professor is your best choice. His personality is very nice, funny, humorous, he truly take care students with any questions. Personally, I very like his teaching style, throw out the textbook, using his slides to show students processing step by step, this is much more attractive for me to learn math.
He is caring, understanding, and above all, in touch with the class. He knows calculus is not the easiest subject, so he breaks everything down as much as possible. I do want to mention that the course is test/quiz heavy, but the problems are usually easier than what you see on worksheets and homework. All in all, take his course!
Tadashi is an amazing professor who breaks down complex topics with care. Attend class, study with resources like Unstuck AI, and you'll excel in this course.
Tadashi was a really great professor. He was understanding when many of us did not know some of the basic math, so he gave us optional pre-calc homework for credit to help us build those skills. The class is very lecture heavy, so you really have to pay attention to succeed in the class because there are tests every week. I enjoyed the class!
Professor Tadashi is amazing and kind, his lectures are extremely helpful and he posts them onto his canvas. The lecture he has are very informational but easy to understand. This course is test/quiz heavy, you get a quiz every week and there's a good chunk of homework. Despite calc 2 being a very difficult subject, he does a great job teaching it.
Professor Tadashi has got to be my favorite math instructor yet. His lectures cover 100% of the material. If you take notes and practice homework you will do well. Tests can be hard, but he grades on partial credit so even if you get the wrong answer you can still get 80% of the points. I took all 3 calculus classes and wish I could take more.
He's a good person in general, but I hate how he grades really tough on exams. If you fail an exam more than once, YOU TECHNICALLY HAVE FAILED THE ENTIRE CLASS. There is no alternative way to get back to a passing grade, and he only gives you hope to pass the next exam that does not help AT ALL. Overall, Tadashi made me have a mental breakdown.
