Good professor for this class, but not for Structures.
Dr. Strzmecki is awesome.
Never taking him again... don't take him if you don't like math

this guy is like the worst. he tricks students and enjoys giving the lowest grade possible he also seems to enjoy it too. he grades us on things never taught.has sense of humor, but seems very weird. i wouldn't want to be alone with him in an elevator.

The man failed to show up for the final two class meetings of the semester. He missed the review session that he offered, and failed to contact the class about the final examination. He is a miserable man, and forced me to change my major.
Terrible professor, worst I've ever had. Not helpful at all, does not test you on material covered, unfair grading and he doesn't explain anything clearly. I do not recommend taking one of his classes.
terrible professor and a complete **** on top of that; not only is he terribly unfair but he seems to take pleasure in seeing students not do well; he also always wears the same green wool sweater and smells pretty bad; don't take his class!!!!!
I changed my major because of this guy. He takes a sick pleasure of giving bad grades to students, screwed up my GPA twice. Also he smells awfully bad, as if death is lurking upon him! I couldn't bear to be 3 feet near him.
Doc S. is great. Not only is he funny, but the material is absurdly easy. You can get the chapters he uses in the book for $5 online. Very humorous guy, but he might be seen as wierd if you haven't been around a lot of older Soviet mathematicians.

the material can be a little confusing, but he's a nice guy & will go over material as many times as you need
Smart man, good teacher.Absurdly unfair grader, by far the worst ever.Did every hw for 1 group of girls.Final is worth 50 percent -intended to bring down everyone's grade, since so much hand holding is done.Knows people regularly cheat and codones it.
General/previous knowledge of math is not really needed, but helpful, in this class. He can move too fast at times, but does not mind going over topics over and over again. Attendance isn't even mandatory.. Just do all the homework and you'll be fine!
At first he seems like he doesnt care who you are or how you do in his class, but if you make an effort, he will too. Extremely helpful, especially outside of classroom. The class can be difficult but he will review topics until you get it.
Strz is a smart guy and very funny. As far as one can tell, given his wacky persona, he enjoys interacting with students. His classes are always hard, but his grading is merciful if and only if you do not whine. If you do, well, its a mistake.
Strzemecki is the best from Data structures, theory of computation and algorithms. Very intellectual. Tough material. Very helpful if YOU WANT IT! You have to try. College is about TRYING (no silver platter here lazy ppl!). Take his classes if you are serious about Comp Sc! Not for slackers at ALL!
I took this class to get out of calc. the material is not hard at all, and if you find it hard he'll go over it till you get it. He's funny, grades the HW easily, but can be tough on exams. lots of good grades on HW can fluff up your grade. Overall, decent teacher... I didnt mind him at all.
i dont understand a word he's saying but he's kind of cute
omg, i can't believe someone like this is allowed to teach. Half the time students correct him, he has no idea how to use a windows pc, and isn't familiar with the digital age. His work is easy but why kid yourself your going to college to learn not teach the professor.
He doesn't teach very well. The class, however, is extremely easy. You only take 3 quizzes, Hw can be done in 15 min, and no midterm. He isn't particularly helpful, a bit absent minded, and not too warm with his students, but he makes up for it with the light workload.
extremely unhelpful not recommended unfortunately he is usually "teaching" most comp courses
He's not that bad of a teacher. He can be slightly unclear at times but overall he's ok. If you ask him for help outside of class, he's willing to make time for you and explain the material. He's kind of funny and does have a friendly personality.
Best teacher ever! Strez is so understanding, you can even talk to him about how much your other teachers suck and he will make you feel better. Always answers questions until you fully understand, sincerely wants you to do well unless you try to **** him, and then he won't like you.

I knew nothing about computer science before and after the class I think I know less. He's very funny and cute however I totally didn't understand anything. I think he's very approchable if you need help though. You get homeworks every class and you sometimes don't get them back in time for the next quiz which can be difficult.
he is very anal about excel and about things being done his way. He loves to take away points for small errors. I really didnt learn anything in his class. I only learn how to tolerate people who love to bust your balls. nothing about computers. he will get you lost because he goes too fast.
I have taken Strez 4 times, and everyone needs to stop whining about how hard he is. He will stop the class and explain something to you until the cows come home, all you have to do is actually ASK HIM! He is extremely approachable, THE most helpful teacher at fordham. Guess what guys, CS is a difficult subject, and its not his fault!
love this class...easy class as long as you pay attention and take notes...sometimes he goes to fast but if u don't understand and u ask him he'll explain it to u as much as he can...if u dont get good grades in this class it's not his fault..ur just lazy
I love Strzmecki! He is awesome...I took this class to get out of Calculus and it was WORTH it. The work is EASY and Strz. is helpful and clear. His TA is like the nicest person in the world. His was actually my favorite class this semester
Even though I hated all of the logic, I absolutely loved this class because he is such an amazing teacher! He has some crazy quirks but he has such a good sense of humor. As long as you don't miss too much class and you take good notes, you'll be fine. The homework is harder than the tests so you're very prepared. Easy A if you try.
Hard Class. He's a really nice guy, and he's really funny but he goes so fast, and sometimes you cant understand him with his accent, and his handwritting is really hard to read.
Excellent teacher. Clear; thorough; and practical application of the content. Lectures were clear and detailed. I learned alot from his class. One of the best teachers at Fordham hands down. TAKE HIM! The material isn't easy; but he will not rest until the class understands the concepts. Weekly homework prepares you for exams!
Though I never learned to pronounce Strezmecki, and i'm sure he never knew my name, the class was fun enough. It was super easy, as long as you take notes-- he lets you use a cheat sheet on the exams sometimes. He is entertaining and nice, the class is a breeze, i hardly ever went.
Take this for your math core. If it doesn't fit in your schedule, work it around until it fits. You won't regret it. Very good grader, mixes some comedy into lectures to stimulate class on boring subjects. Projects are very fun and informative, tests are usually not bad. He doesn't know your name but he cares about you a lot if you ask. Great Guy.
Oh Thadeus. Easy class. He allows you to have a cheat of anything you can fit on it. So write all your notes as tiny as possible and your golden. Tests are definitions and stuff you do it class. Easy enough, and beats taking a math class. He's hilarious and a major germaphobe.
I was terrified that I would fail this class, but I ended up getting an A thanks to this professor's no nonsense way of teaching. If you ask a question, he is always willing to clarify. There were no surprises on exams; he'd taught it all. Also, he had a tendency to let classes out early on Fridays which was always awesome. :)
Strez is a weird, weird dude! But he explains things so well and he's actually very nice. He's not easy, but it's CS and he makes you learn it! Only negatives are that he doesn't really answer his email timely and his germaphobia is amusing. But, highly recommended!
Hardest course ever taken! Would not reccomend for a cisc major beginner. Please take another proff; however he is willing to help you if you are falling behind.
Excellent Professor. Great communication skills, clarity of presentation and mastery of english. Enthusiastic, learned and professional. My best instructor all semester!
I was terrified of this class. I was sure I would fail. Even I managed an A. If you do the homework, you'll probably do well. He allowed us to bring test information in on a separate piece of paper and had a habit of letting class out early, especially on Fridays. The only problem I could possibly see is that he can be hard to understand.
Not entirely an "easy" class, but if you pay attention and take detailed notes, you will do splendid on homework and quizzes. Prof is fast paced, but very willing to repeat example/go over homework if you ask. Witty, with a good sense of humor. Don't be intimidated by this class, all you have to do is ask and he will answer you thoroughly.
Extremely informative. I will admit that his pace is very quick and he may even be difficult to understand at times because of his accent but I discovered the key...JUST ASK Ask him questions and he's extremely helpful, willing to do exercises over. His office hours (which are like all the time) helped me master homework and tests so they were easy
Great professor. Has an accent, but easy enough to follow. Everything is clearly defined and explained with many examples. Feel free to ask questions because he will stop and make sure everyone understands the topic (by working out more examples, etc) before continuing.
Prof. Strzemecki is the best teacher I've ever had
Great professor, cares about his students. If you don't care about the class, he will notice. Although he's an odd dude, he's very approachable and extremely helpful - just don't go to him and expect him to feed you answers, ask him real questions and he will help. Tests are straightforward, lets you bring a cheat sheet, sometimes.
I had him for Discrete Structures and he was a very good and clear teacher. The class was very easy so long as you did the work he assigned and listened in class
He is one of the best professor I have taken. If he is in his office he will help you right away, but his lectures are clear enough that most of the time there is no help needed. Would take him again!
I had Professor Strzemecki for Discrete Structures and loved him! He is the reason I am now a CS major! I thought he was very clear and straightforward. He is just as clear in CSI, but you have to read the textbook or program separately from class. Pay attention and look over your notes and you will do great! Extremely helpful in office hours&labs.
Professor was very well educated in his field. His lectures were clear (if you pay attention) and he gives occasional HW. His grading is a little tough (hw 20%, final 50%, 3 quizzes 30%). He wants you to do well and will curve your grade up if you deserve it. Take him!
People take him, easy course, easy grader. Funny in class, Do not listen to the oh he is so hard do not take him. He is difficult if you pay 0 attention in class. I literally have not opened a book in class and have an A. Notes are clear, has an accent. Easy going.
Overall, Strzemecki is a good professor for Discrete Structures I. He is occasionally fast in his lectures. There's no need to buy the textbook. His lectures alone demonstrate the whole semester's curriculum and all homework assignments do not use the textbook. Lastly, he has a really iconic walk, you'll get what I'm saying when you have him.
Tadeusz Strzemecki Is the reason I can support my family. He prepared me not just for CS, he is a champion of critical thinking. I was his student 10 years ago and I still draw on what he taught. He is a lover of truth and objectivity and settles for no less. I ended up in a non CS career, but what he taught me was how to analyze reality
Discrete Structures II was a waste of life but Strzemecki overall taught the course pretty well. The course may seem difficult due to his terminology but the concepts are fairly easy to grasp. There's no need to buy a textbook. He does NOT give a homework extension even if you are absent the day it's due so be warned. Mainly took as comp sci req.
He is THE BEST CS professor at FCLC. I have taken 5 different CS professors so far for different CS classes, but he IS the only one who is so much passionate about his work. His lectures are super clear and he will literally tell you what he wants you to learn for Quizzes (3 quizzes, 10% each, hw 20% and 50% final). TAKE HIM AND YOU WONT REGRET.
He is one of the best CS teachers in FCLC. Make sure you take his class if you're a computer science major!
The best CS professor you will ever find in Fordham. Not only a great professor, but he is also a great advisor overall and willing to go out of his way to help you. Always available for students. Only professor to make CS enjoyable for you at Fordham.
very caring and basically the best cs professor in FCLC
I absolutely adore this professor. If you go to his office hours he really listens to what you have to say and if you need help with any questions he really helps you. He is very kind and funny so if you have the chance take his class!
BEST LC COMPSCI PROFESSOR EVER. SUCH A GOOD MATH PROFESSOR I LEARNED SO EASILY
Such a funny professor. He's very kind and even when you aren't taking his class he's still accessible to talk about other classes or if you're having trouble with other classes. I have a lot of respect for him. Even my friends who aren't CS majors like him because he really cares about the students.
He is the worst teacher. Does not go over the basics. He will never explain anything just talks about the concept without showing an example. If you ask for help in class he tells us to ask him during office hours. In-office hour he is like hurry up cuz other people are waiting.
Don't take him for a beginner computer science class. He is probably good at teaching higher-level classes
If you are not good at calculus or algorithms already, don't take his class. He assigns homework after every single class, and he is a very tough grader. If you have questions you have to wait to see him in office hours. He is a smart guy but I feel like he neglects to teach us a lot of things and the concepts are incredibly difficult. :(
Definitely avoid at all costs. His computer algorithms class is all hard calculus that he does not explain well. Seems like a generally good person but he should not be teaching. His grader is also a very tough grader and doesn't give partial credit on anything, even if a problem is somewhat correct its marked wrong... don't take!
Avoid like the plague
would not take again
If you read the previous posts that basically sums him up. However, if you go to office hours every week, show him your hw and labs, he will help you get to the answer and it will greatly improve your grade. So it is possible to get an A but unlikely since you gotta hard for it.
Worst experience with a professor. it was an intro to computer science class but he treated it as if intermediate and assumed we were all CS majors. I am a straight A student but am getting a C in his class through hours of trying. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF NOT A CS MAJOR
Very nice guy. He is a no nonesense kind of guy but genuinely wants people to pass and do well. Also pretty funny and goes very easy on the grading at the beginning of course. Had him for CISC 1600 but that wasn't an option
Okay, so for the entire semester I really had a hard time in his class. He is very busy so he can be hard to reach, and you really have to make time to talk to him about his grading. HOWEVER, if you are a CompSci major and want to LEARN take his class. He is tough, but I will definitely take his class again.
Do not take this class if you are a CS beginner, he is completely unreachable, does not reply any emails. Returns grading through an email that is CC to all students. No clear syllabus, skip through basics, rushed online office hours. Do not take this professor's class!!
The people giving positive reviews are the few compsci majors who already knew much of the content and material before taking the class. If you're new to coding or even in the midst of learning with some experience, he isn't the one for you. Extremely advanced assignments for beginner students, no slides, no typed notes, no helpful feedback. Avoid.
He's very questionable because he can sometimes be great but then sometimes it can be hell. The only issue I really have was that his final was worth half your grade(50%), and that he'd give you 3 quizzes(each 10%), NOT open-book. His homework was doable so that's one bright side but he is also very caring. Just be cautious, that's all I can say.
This class is very tough, especially if you're going into coding with no background. He is a very tough grader, taking points off if you don't format your code in the manner that he likes. At times he can be very confusing, especially since he does not provide any online notes. He does not provide any feedback on grades unless you ask in person.
If you're looking to actually learn and take away a lot from a class, take him. He's not easy, lectures are quick and packed w info, but he knows his stuff and he is very knowledgable. Might seem tough, but he is very reasonable and can be funny.
I did not have any prior knowledge about coding before this class, so I definitely had to study A LOT to understand what was happening. Nonetheless, it paid off because now I actually understand coding. He is very difficult but if you truly want to learn, he's great!
AMAZING COMPUTER SCIENCE PROFESSOR. This class was basically a review for me, but I did enjoy the work. I do think it was heavily math-based, coding using different math formulas. There are 3 quizzes and a final; all of them are taken online, and you are allowed to google stuff or use your notes. JOSEPH IS A WONDERFUL TA!!! Very lenient on grading.
Didn't know C++ at all but still managed to follow along to his lectures. Doesn't call on people, and lectures were at a reasonable pace. He wants code to be formatted in a certain way, but it isn't difficult for an introductory CS course. If it's your first coding language, it shouldn't be hard to adhere to if you don't prefer a certain technique.
Despite being a CS class, he did not utilize any form of technology. No Blackboard and no emails saying what the homework was. You're going to want a buddy in this class to double check everything with. And do your best to never miss class. Go if you genuinely want to learn, not as a core.
