He is hard to talk to and is seems to get upset when you as him a question. There is plenty of opportunities to do extra credit, which saves your grade.
Tae is a really good professor. Seriously. He is super helpful and I feel like he is extremely skilled at expaining things. My favorite thing about him is that he works so hard at making sure that he improves to make your learning experience easier. I have been recommending him to anyone who has to take the class.
Tae is a really good professor. He is very efficient with his explanations and incredibly organized. There are plenty of opportunities to reinforce things that are learned in class and he does his best to help. He gives surveys to try and improve his teaching style to try and make your learning experience easier.
Incredible professor, one of the best I've ever had, works really hard to make sure students understand. Puts in effort above and beyond what's needed. Fantastic Moodle site, great practical applications, friendly. Would highly recommend for Physics at Bona's if you want to really LEARN Physics, rather than just get the A (but an A isn't too tough)
take home exams
Some degree of busy work but it really does help to boost your grade. DON'T FORGET YOUR JOURNALS!
Very helpful and cared to the needs of the students. Hardest part about the class is doing all of the journals but gives you an opportunity to turn them in late. Literally impossible to fail because of how much extra credit and points there are. Tests are only work half of the course grade. Always open to any questions and helping students.
He was very helpful with everything, was willing to go over questions on the practice tests multiple times and really got me interested in physics
He's a very fair professor. If you go to class and ask for help, he won't have any problem helping you out. There are a lot of opportunities for extra credit and he usually allows test corrections.
Fair grader, will do every thing he can to help you out. Was a bit confused at first but helps's ya through it. Gives you many chances to get your grade up so take them.
VERY helpful. Genuinely concerned for students and is always trying to improve his teaching. He will still give out bad grades, but he makes EVERY effort to avoid it. If you show up to class, complete the assignments, and go into office hours; you'll get an A and you'll know physics. Best science professor at Bona's.
Gives a ton of work, and becomes upset if you don't understand something. I would not take another course with him. Did I mention there's a ton of work? And he never goes into detail with stuff, assuming you understand. And there a lot of work.
He is a great professor. His class is tough, but at long as you put in the proper amount of study time and homework you can do well. I would recommend him to other students.
Mr. Cooke is a tough professor and expects a lot from his students, but if you actually want to learn physics and not have to teach yourself, he is the best physics professor. He makes himself available for his students and will explain things to you multiple times or let you stay at his office hours all day if you need to (minus lunch).
Mr. Cooke is a tough teacher and expects a lot from his students. However, if you want to understand physics and learn something, take him. It is a lot of work but if you put in the effort it is not too bad. He makes himself available for his students, and will let you stay in his office all day asking questions about homework or the take hometest
Professor is not good at explaining physics to people who don't know physics. He also becomes very frustrated when asked questions. All in all, not very helpful.
A lot of extra credit available. Lectures are fun. Always willing to help you as long as you like during his office hours. He knows the material flawlessly and is good at communicating it. He is very nice and approachable, overall awesome guy. Do the work and you should be all set.
Good lectures and explains concepts well, go use his office hours if you don't understand a concept. Do all of his homework questions, including the extra ones. Study both theory and math as he doesn't only test on the math. Some of his assignments can be hard as balls so start them early and see him for help.
Really smart guy so don't expect to know what the heck he's talking about. He will dumb it down for you in office hours though!
good professor, must do the work to get a good grade, tough but fair
Always willing to help you in office hours, which is necessary for many to attend because he flies through his powerpoint during lecture. Can be a little confusing because of the fact he goes so quickly through the material in class, read the text and you'll survive.
Lots of homework, but it prepares you for his exams. Exams are difficult, but not bad if you do the homework and go to his office hours for help on understanding concepts. Lectures can go by fast sometimes, but the powerpoints are good enough for you to self-study whatever you miss with the textbook.
This professor is very knowledgeable of the material taught in the class. He also is willing to arrange a time for extra office hours if you are not available when the set office hours occur. The grading system is fair, but it is not a breeze. You can do fairly well in the class as long as you actually try.
This class is no walk in the park for non-Physics majors. You definitely have to work for your grade, but he offers enough extra credit and help than you can still do well.
Great guy, makes sure you know what's going on.
He is a good teacher who makes sure students understand the material and encourages students to come for help.
Cooke is really underrated at Bonas. Science majors think he is the "hard" physics teacher of the 3. With the available bonus points, its not that difficult to get an A, provided you treat the subject with the respect it deserves. He focuses on concepts, so probably very valuable if you are taking the MCAT
He has a very specific way of doing things (so don't mess up your file name when submitting online files), but after you're used to his style, the class becomes quite interesting. He focuses on understanding the material, so I feel confident with taking more physics courses with what I've learned.
Willing to help with anything that you need help with. Wants his students to do well, offers extra credit and bonuses on all tests.
Good teacher, you will also learn Excel. Not the 'elective' version of the class - this is probably more intended for physics majors. That said, the only thing he could improve during lecture is fewer examples, less Powerpoint, spend more time on examples. For lab, the grading can be interesting - formatting heavy, but practical knowledge
Knows A LOT about physics. Hard class, but gives a lot of opportunities to get points back if you do poorly on the test. Always willing to help if you have a question. Goes through his lectures kinda fast, but has inclass problems that help you figure out how to do them on your own
Cooke is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and is always available and willing to help students outside of class. Very tough grader on exams, exams have this bizarre weighting system that could really hurt you. He is very stringent on online file submissions. overall a great professor who's willing to go the extra mile if you are.
Tests were very challenging. Office hours he was available, however he would not really give you much help. Needs to be more understanding and more generous with points outside of tests.
He grades tough only in the lab section, but he is really intelligent and going to office hours made a difference in this class for me. As long as you try and WANT the grade you want bad, you'll get it. He is very fair and small class sizes really do matter.
Difficult professor but knowledgable and knows what he is doing and how to teach the class well. If you put in the time (do the homework, and study in advance for each test, go to office hours) you can do well in the class.
Makes the material interesting and is very good at explaining the concepts. The class does require effort and there is daily homework, but it helps prepare for the test. He is good about regular office hours and is willing to help. Definitely take this class if you want to learn physics (instead of memorizing how to use equations).
Cooke is really a good professor even though students say he is hard. He wants his students to do well and is always available for help if you need it or ask for it. Class is definitely tough if it does not come naturally to you. Tests are hard but there is a lot of homework so there are some buffer points. Homework isn't hard, just time consuming.
With the amount of work you put into the class, you really feel like you leave class having learned the most important things of general physics. I really enjoyed class and lectures.
Although some people say Mr. Cooke is a hard professor, he wants his students to strive for intelligence and a solid understanding of the material. If you need help, he is always around to give you the help you need. The homework is time-consuming but they really help to have a full understanding of the material and help for the difficult test
This class is definitely no elective that someone would take. You learn a lot in this class, but you have to put in the work. His tests always have questions that make you re-think how you studied, but there is always bonus available.
Cooke has a reputation for being tough, but if you stay up on your assignments and spend some time preparing for the tests you will do very well in his class. One of the few professors who actually seems interested in whether or not you are learning so much so his office hours are mandatory so he can go over things you are struggling with.
There's enough extra credit to keep your grade afloat. The class is extremely lecture based and powerpoint heavy. Sometimes it seems like the lecture is just reading straight off the slides and nothing else, but you still feel like you're learning in the class. Just be sure to go to office hours if you need help.
Mr. Cooke is quite challenging to get used to at first, but will gradually grow on you. You will leave his class knowing physics very thoroughly, but he will definitely not give you an easy A. He is very particular about small details and notations, and takes off points on things like file names (though he is an extremely fair grader on tests).
His PowerPoint presentations can be quite word heavy, so it's really important to stay focused and keep up. If you can't keep up though, he's really good about helping students out with homework or explaining a particularly confusing topic during his office hours.
This professor is very helpful in office hours if they work with your schedule. The course is easy if you put in the effort, extra credit and retries are always offered which are very beneficial considering the difficulty of the exams.
The class is lecture heavy and exams are tough, but the professor is very fair and tries to be available to meet should anyone have trouble. Stay on top of understanding lectures and doing webassign homeworks.
He knows what he's talking about and is accessible, but can be a bit condescending at times.
Cooke is so amazing. He cares about students and will help you with whatever you need. Gives extensions if you need them and really wants you to learn. His class is hard and requires work. Probably not getting an A but I would still take him again. Grading is very clear, but tests are hard. Favorite professor at Bonas
Mr. Cooke is always willing to talk through anything you are unsure of, and if you still don't understand to material, he tries to relate it to something you do know in order to help further understand. He doesn't get bothered if you ask the same question over and over again. I like that he makes the class more real-life based. Super cool guy.
Mr. Cooke is almost always available in person when needed despite the fact that he also teaches off campus. If he isn't in his office or the lab, he can be reached by email and almost always answers in a timely manner. As long as you meet him halfway, he'll make sure to help you get the grade you deserve.
He was always willing to help on the homework assignments and makes sure you show up by giving attendance and participation points.
Although intimidating at first, you need to get past this, Mr. Cooke is more than willing to provide help if you need it. (Sometimes you need to be persistent with your questions) But my grade shot up after I started going to him for regular help on lab reports. If you go to him, he will help you, but you take initiative and listen to feedback
Professor Cooke does a great job explaining how labs should be set up and answers any questions clearly when the manual isn't clear. Very fair grading and gives great suggestions for how to improve one's understanding of the physics concepts.
I definitely do agree that he is intimidating at first but once you get to know him more by going to his office hours for help to understand the material, your grade will get higher without a doubt. Initiative is key if you want an A in this course.
Mr. Cooke is a really good professor but his class is really hard. I never really know what I am doing but I somehow end up doing okay in the class. He does really care about his students and always helps me when I ask.
Very involved class, easy to fall behind if you don't put in the effort. That being said, as long as you ask questions about what you don't understand, Professor Cooke is more than happy to help and the understanding of his lecture concepts will follow. Hard but rewarding class
The concepts in lab are interesting, and the questions are difficult to answer but Mr. Cooke is more than willing to meet outside of lab to help. Lab manual is not always the clearest but Mr. Cooke is very knowledgeable and helpful in bridging the gaps. One of the few classes where effort correlates with the grade you end up receiving on reports
Cooke really epitomizes what it means to be a professor at St. Bonaventure. He is always available, and is willing to work around any conflicts you have. Really cares about you understanding the material, and will help you achieve the grade you want. While the class can be a lot of work, you don't mind doing it because he is such a star.
Tests are extremely hard and do not reflect the homework given. He allows us to take the same test twice (the second time with a partner) and then averages the scores. There are also more assignments that count towards your grades such as weekly homework and a few projects. He is very helpful when you ask questions so go to office hours!
Definitely a different style than the other physics 103/104 teachers. You need to show up to understand the material and he basically enforces you to ask questions and show up to office hours.. Tests are tough, you wont find the questions online. To do good in this class you need to actually understand physics.
Cooke is a great man and very skilled in his knowledge of physics. Only issue is lot of homework- one or two due each week- they require good amount of knowledge to answer. Need to keep up with the work and thus wouldn't recommend as a side course or something to fill up credits. Tests are hard, but grading rubric makes it work out in the end.
Mr. Cooke has been a teacher who truly cares about achieving depth within the concepts of physics especially in the lab environment.
His class is very tough, but you are able to learn the material very well. He is usually always available when you need him for help. The tests are very difficult.
Goes through material rather quick but is available for help and has good examples to help you understand things. The tests are very hard and grading can be confusing. Overall tough class but good professor to have.
Always available to help. Will give hold credit on wrong answers for homework if you go to him to review it. Seems very intimidating, but is very understanding that this is not an easy class. Wants us to do our best
He's very helpful if you reach out for it. The tests are hard and take a lot of work, but if you put in the effort you should receive a grade you want.
I found this class to be very challenging. He is a very intimidating professor and expects a lot out of his students. He is available out of class which helps if you have to miss class for something.
If you aren't the type of learner to teach yourself and then only use lecture as a reinforcement of what you taught yourself then do not take this professor. If you are confused though he is always open to talk in office hours and going to him in office hours is a lot more helpful than lecture can be. Test questions are a lot harder than homework.
He's a hard teacher and his class is very challenging. He's is definitely very intimidating, but he is accessible outside of class. It was hard for me to get used to his way of teaching. so this was one of the hardest classes I've taken.
The tests are tough, but he will always be available to help you with your work or if you are having trouble with a concept in anything that has to do with the class.
Overall a very difficult in class teacher, explanations and lecture often making things very confusing. He is always available to help though outside of class. He does want everyone to succeed but you will also have to do a lot and understand a lot on your own. The test are extremely difficult and harder than than the homework and anything in class
He strives for you to be the best you can be. He will help you on homework and anything questions that you ask, he will explain in detail.
Mr. Cooke strives so that his students will pass, with knowing what he teaches. He does what he can do as a teacher to help all students do thier best. He explains questions to them with extensive detail and cares for thier grades.
Lots of reading, Individual and partner test, but overall good experience.
Good prof, talks way too fast sometimes tho. Test guides were most useful. Class itself is really hard. Can get an A if you put in a lot of work and make an effort to go to office hours.
Mr. Cooke's 104 course was pretty difficult, but its possible to get an A while averaging in the high 80s on his exams. He lectures way too fast, so reading the textbook and going through his slides at your own pace after the lecture is the best way to study.
One of my favorite professors at SBU.
Took it as a summer course and while it was a lot of information, I do have a true understanding of physics! Be prepared for a lot of example problems, but if you understand the foundation of the lessons, you can figure out other things. He doesn't just give you answers either, but it allows you to truly understand the concepts. Thumbs Up for sure!
Tests are extremely hard and long, but he lets you take partner tests which really bumps up your test grades. There is also a lot of homework involved, and your whole nights will be spent doing physics and you won't have time for other classes
Mr. Cooke is an excellent professor, he really emphasizes good conceptual understanding. Tests were very similar to homework problems and examples covered in lecture. And while exam scores were low on average, homework and participation really boost grades. And he brings his cat in to office hours sometimes!! 100 percent recommend
Tests have almost all material learned in class on them and the book helps to cement those ideas so being in class is extremely important and going to office hours is a great choice and the professor is almost always available to help.
Mr. Cooke holds a class that you cannot slack off in. I found myself being able to do well on the graded Mastering Physics Hw and physical Hw but you need to prepare for the tests. They were difficult for me and if you want to get an A in his class, do all the Hw, without copying, go to his office hours, and read the textbook lesson before class.
This was the hardest class I have ever took in my entire academic career. It was a lot of studying plus a lot of homework due each week. Whole nights were sacrificed for single 20 point assignments.
Reading the book is a must bc class is just reviewing practice problems. He tries to challenge you with written homework that takes all night and makes you want to cry. Tests were hard but the partner tests are a great way to boost your grade. He makes me feel really stupid when I ask questions or don't understand. I will never take him again.
The exams were much more difficult than that of the homework, class, or book problems.
His tests are tough but you can manage to do decent on them as he provides a lot of help in his office hours. His office hours are super helpful and he is always looking for ways on how you can do better.
Mr. Cooke is a very good professor when it comes to giving substantial feedback, as well as being lenient if you happen to forget an assignment. He is always available for questions, especially when you join the class discord. Be ready for a hard class, this class is in no way shape or form an easy A class. The tests are hard.
He is a very hard professor but he does his best to compensate hard tests, and homework with lots of extra credit points. Do not be afraid to go to office hours because he will help you.
Tough class but Mr. Cooke puts in just as much work as he asks of us. Very responsive and always accessible for office hours. I definitely learned a lot, would recommend highly!
always go talk to him if you are confused he will always help
Very helpful when you can't grasp the material. Available when you need help and explains things really well so you can understand it.
The work load is a lot more difficult than some other teachers work, but he is always willing to work with you to help you understand and get the best grade possible. Even with that, you need to put in the work if you want to do well.
Tests are really tough but he knows that. So he gives you lots of opportunities to get easy chip and bonus points where if you work hard, but do bad on the tests, you can still get above a C+ but NOTHING will ever be just "handed" to you. You're going to have to put in a lot of work.
There may be a lot of homework's but the questions on the test are very similar. He is great in office hours and responds to emails quickly.
Cooke is not a horrible teacher, but studying for exams is not easy. If you are expecting a good study guide, don't. He is very willing to help and is there to explain things, however I never felt ready for my exams. The exams are very long, 3 hours, and require a ton of work. There are homework problems that help, but be ready to go beyond that.
Mr. Cooke is a very smart man and is passionate about his job. His work is very hard and complex but he is always willing to work with you in office hours, just make sure you go out of your way to get extra help. The tests are very difficult but it is nice he lets you work with a partner on test and is always open to questions.
Beware!!!!! Take the other physics professor if you don't want to study 24/7 and spending an ungodly amount of hours on homework that won't help on the exam.
I wish someone warned me of how hard Dr. Cooke would be. The exams were way too hard and no homework, mini project, or study guide could have prepared me for any of the exams!!!!
He wouldn't be my first choice when it comes to taking physics. I thought that many of the exams were challenging and the workload increased significantly toward the end of the semester. There were a few extra credit opportunities but other than that expect to study hard for EVERY exam.
Great professor, very smart and really knows his stuff. Tests are hard... you do get a partner if you want but sometimes that hurts more than it helps as far as time. Go to office hours! It's mandatory but also very helpful. You also get a personal excel sheet that helps you know what grade you should expect or aim for
I thought the class was very difficult for an intro to Physics. The exams were a lot harder than the homework, but getting to work with a partner was nice. Office hours are mandatory but are really helpful. Participation is graded so ask lots of questions!
Mr. Cooke knows his material but teaches this class as if it is an upper level course. There are MANY assignments so if you do well it can help boost your grade. The tests are beyond hard and very difficult to study for. Go to office hours because he will explain things in more detail. He's very smart but I found it hard to grasp the material
Get ready to put in a lot of work! It took up most of my time not leaving room to study as much for other classes. It's a difficult class but you can do awful on tests and still pass as long as you try.
Mr. Cooke is a good professor. He is knowledgeable and was always available outside of class. He always helps you when you need it, he always helps when you are struggling. However, his tests can be very hard. It is sad when you think you understand the content and then are stumped by the difficulty of the test. Overall a pretty good professor.
Physics is not an easy class, but Mr. Cooke is very accessible outside of class for extra help. He gives good feedback and emphasizes the importance of going to office hours if you need the extra help. There is a lot of homework but selecting the option to do the tests with a partner is very beneficial. There are also ways to receive extra credit.
Mr. Cooke's class requires that you are engaged and participating in class. There is always a homework assignment due, but that also means a lot of points to earn. He makes you work for your grade, no doubt about that. Knowing something about excel will be helpful. Tests are difficult, but manageable.
Mr. Cooke gives really hard exams but he is also very willing to make time to help you succeed. I was in his office a few times every week and was able to get a B+. I think maybe one person got an A. You may not get the best grade, but you will definitely have a good grasp of the material when the semester ends.
Class is hard but fair, as he lets you know what he expects of you every step of the way. Tests are very hard as well, but as long as you weight your exams correctly and keep up with the homework you can still do well. Lots of opportunity for bonus and is always accessible via office hours and willing to help you succeed.
Cooke was a really great professor. He is a very tough grader, but his exams are taken with a partner so it makes it easier to work through them. You definitely have to work for the grade you want and cannot slack off in this class. There is usually homework due every other class, but it is very manageable. Be sure to get outside help from him!!
Mr. Cooke's explanations are hard to understand from a students point of view. The exams in this class are very difficult. Mr. Cooke does encourage office hours which can be very helpful with homework. Mr. Cooke moves very fast with material which is not efficient when it comes to learning. This class is very challenging and time consuming.
At the beginning of the semester, Professor Cooke was daunting. He definitely has his quirks, and he requires a lot of work, but if you put in that work along with time and dedication then you will come out of the semester having really learned the material. He emphasizes true understanding. Also, go to office hours. If you ask, he will help.
Mr. Cooke is very passionate about his class and wants his students to succeed. His exams were the only huge drawback to this class - they're pretty awful. I studied a lot and still was very lost on some exam questions. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! he will help you with homework, mini projects, studying for exams etc. There are a ton of bonus points
He tells you at the beginning of the course that the work is consistent and that is key. If you can fall into a routine and keep up with the workload, you'll do just fine. Do not try to go through the course on your own, you WILL need to go to office hours to understand the material. Tests are difficult but the rest of the work cushions you from it
It is a physics class, and is taught as such. There are several homework assignments a week that take hours to figure out. However there were several other ways to improve your grade, but you definitely need to be working everyday on physics.
Great instructor overall.
You have to work to get a good grade, but Mr. Cooke is very willing to help and is almost always accessible outside of class.
He does not lie when he says the course load is rigorous and constant. However, his utmost priority is the development of his students. It is a guarantee that, if a student should ever need help, Mr. Cooke will always be of assistance, rather that be in his in-person office hours or through email. He prioritizes actual learning. He is great.
This class is certainly very difficult, and Professor Cooke requires a lot out of you for a good grade in the class (although it's by no means impossible). He is ALWAYS available outside of class, and is extremely helpful during office hours (highly recommend going). If you have to take this class, get ready to put in the work!
Mr. Cooke is a very organized, intelligent professor who makes you earn your grade through a multitude of homework assignments, mini-projects, and projects. His exams are extremely tough and he expects a lot out of you but also helps you out through partner exams with weighted parts, and bonus points littered in for participation.
Professor Cooke assigns a lot of homework, which allows you to boost your grade. The exams are very difficult, but you're able to work with a partner and weight your sections. He is always available for office hours and allows you to earn a lot of extra points throughout the semester.
Physics requires you to do a lot of work and studying. Mr. Cooke really wants his students to understand and learn the material. He is always available for office hours, which is extremely helpful!! There is a lot of homework and the tests are really tough, but if you work hard and focusing on the aspect of learning, you can be successful.
No MP, written homework, masteringphysics, and "vague" review test guides could help when it came time to take his exams. Super vague during office hrs which was frustrating at times.
Helpful outside of the classroom. Has silly rules like points will be taken off if you dont name a file correctly. Tests are very long (3hrs), and a test guide is given for them which does not seem hard, but the test questions are always super hard. if you dont do well on exams can still get good grades bc of lots of other assignments
Mr. Cooke clearly does care about ensuring that his students pass his class, but you will have to work for that grade. HIs tests are probably the most daunting thing about taking his class, as they are 3-hours long and contain difficult questions. If you need to take an easy science course, either don't take Physics or choose a different instructor
Professor Cooke is always available for help when you need it. He wants students to be able to apply the material in their lives and future careers. The course itself is very tough and often times feels much more like an upper-level science rather than an intro. But he is there to help. He is a nice guy which helps.
Wouldnt take again
The class overall is hard. You really have to study and put in a good amount of work to get a good grade. It's important to not miss any assignments and get as much help as you need. His office hours are useful.
Mr. Cooke is an excellent professor. He is engaging and really helpful during office hours. His class is challenging and he definitely makes you work for your grade, but there is plenty of extra credit and the tests are partner tests which is really nice. I would recommend Mr. Cooke, just be prepared to work hard!
good professor but definitely ask questions if you do not understand something. If you miss classes definitely get the information or you will not do well. He is very helpful if you ask for help.
This is a hard class but if you put in the effort you will get a good grade.
Decent professor. Office hours are beneficial.
Mr. Cooke gives a lot of work out side of class. The exams are very hard, he does provide a study guide but you have to put in a lot of time and effort to get a good grade. He does have a lot of office hours to receive help. Considering I have never taken physics before, this class is a challenge for me.
A little sarcastic, but it gets funny. Show up to class, do your work, go to office hours and you're a good student. He does not respect those who do not try. There is a textbook, but I never opened it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class and never found lectures to be uninteresting. He respects hard work and will help you as long as you put an honest effort in. Office hours are crucial to getting a good grade in this class as often the homework and challenge problems will have a higher level of difficulty than in class. Textbook not really necessary.
This is a faster paced, homework heavy course. While it is challenging, Professor Cooke is readily available for office hours and is willing to help anyone who shows an effort in understanding. Ultimately, you will receive the grade you deserve based on how hard you work in this course!
PHYL103 lab was based mostly off of graded excel and calculation sheets as well as a typed report. I thought the labs were time consuming and somewhat tricky, but I was able to understand them by attending office hours. Definitely seek outside help to receive an A!
I like the way that everything he does is organized and the way he makes us work for our grades. If we plan well, seek for help, and try our best, we can all do well in the class. This class made me also become more organized and much more proficient with excel.
Mr. Cooke is an amazing professor! He provides demonstrations in class to explain some topics that may/may not be intuitive to understand. There is a lot of group-work and collaboration (even on exams!). This class is more about the understanding of physical concepts rather than rote memorization. Basic algebra and calculus knowledge would help :)
Cooke is fair and happy to help in office hours but can move too fast through lectures and is a tough grader. Tests are long but not too hard and worth a lot.
Overal good professor however is hard and grading policies are different
Mr. Cooke was an amazing professor. Style of learning was dependent on group work and lectures. Class demonstrations were helpful to understand the material. Exams were difficult but we take them with partners. Always available during office hours to help, which I recommend taking advantage of. Overall, great professor but a tough class. Good luck!
Mr. Cooke is a great professor. As long as you do the HW, studying time is minimized and it speeds up the learning process. The tests are long but they are fair. If you go to office hours, he is more than willing to help. It is very hard to get below a B/B+ in the class if you participate and do mediocre on the tests. Lots of extra credit too!
Material is covered fairly quickly in this class and is rather hard to keep up with. When asking questions, his responses often made you feel stupid and not want to seek help. He holds very high standards for a first year physics class and basically taking his class consumed most of my free time I could have spent on other classes.
It is a really time demanding class and the homework tends to be pretty difficult. The exams can be hard but really using the study guides can help you a lot. Mr. Cooke is available a lot outside of class time and I found office hours really helpful.
Professor Cooke's lab reports really allow you to grasp the essence of the material learned in lecture. After completing labs, you will gain an even deeper understanding of lecture material. Get really comfy with excel(life) Groupwork is essential, make sure you cooperate with your group members to complete the group files (data and calc sheets).
Mr. Cooke is the best professor I have ever had. His class is tough but is structured so that you do not need A's on every exam to get an A in the class. It is a lot of work but Mr. Cooke is very accessible to help his students. Mr. Cooke has a passion for what he teaches and it shows in lectures. I would recommend Mr. Cooke to any student.
Physics the course itself is hard. Applying the knowledge on the tests would be the worst part of physics. Mr. Cooke is always available to help when needed. There is a lot of work to do, but those points go into boosting your grade. Definitely go in for help!
Bio majors shouold take Dr. O. If you want to learn something, take Mr. Cooke
Consistent course work. If you get behind it is hard to catch up again, but doable if you use his pffice hours and consult with him about the course material. The grading is very fair and understandable, if you do not agree he talks you through it and if mistakes were made, the result is in favour for the student. Beenie +
Mr. Cooke is really helpful during office hours. It is a fast paced class that is too in-depth for bio majors as it is an introductory class. There is tons of extra credit, so your grade will be okay. I just dislike physics, but Mr. Cooke is excellent.
Nice guy and very smart, but the concepts are very difficult to grasp and I was usually left confused. Office hours are somewhat helpful and in some cases very necessary.
Not an easy class, but the professor is very helpful.
Can come off as passive aggressive when answering questions outside of class which greatly deterred me from seeking necessary help. Very smart with a good sense of humor but the class is quite difficult.
First off, it's Physics... It's HARD. if you SURVIVED the first semester of physics, CONGRATS BUD! BUT... You have NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE IN FOR this semester...its what I like to call: a "whole new world of CONFUSION." But it's okay, Mr. Cooke (and Beenie on Fridays) has got your back! He's ALWAYS there to help with HW and gives TONS of EC.
Physics is a very tough course, but Mr. Cooke is a great teacher and really makes class fun. He is also very helpful outside class and is always willing to meet with students to go over material.
Definitely a tough class in terms of the material, but lots of extra credit to bring your grade up. Very nice person, very smart, and cares about his students. Class was hard, but Mr. Cooke is definitely my favorite professor at this school.
Mr. Cooke is always accessible outside of class when needed. The material is challenging and covered rather quickly, so attending lecture is a must. Come prepared and you should be okay!
Loved the professor, the class was hard. It is easy to do well if you get Bs on the test and participate in class. I know some people say that if you're a bio major, it is unnecessarily in-depth, but it does prepare you for the physics section of the MCAT! Make sure you do all the extra credit, participate in class, and go to office hours!
This semester was less controlled than the previous semester. I don't think that lecture could be utilized as well because too much time was spent being distracted by students that wouldn't stop talking. As much as he tries to make it fair, I think that some partiality occurred and that random partners were not very effective.
This semester was a lot less controlled than the previous semester. Lecture was hard to pay attention to with constant distraction from talking students. The random choosing of partners was not very effective or fair. The end of the semester seemed unnecessarily rushed and difficult.
The course is tough but Mr. Cooke is my favorite professor. He knows the material in-depth and really cares about teaching his students. Participation is essential in the course both in class and out during office hours. It is important not to fall behind in lectures or else you will find the gap snowballs out of control as the class moves quickly.
Mr.Cooke was very helpful all the time. His test are hard and sometimes if you do not go and see him you will not be able to earn a good grade in the class.
This is a challenging class that requires a lot of time and effort. Office hours were extremely helpful and exams are taken with random partners. Take high school physics prior to this class as it is fast paced. Participate in class too. It's a math heavy class, but that's physics.
Second semester was not as math heavy as the first semester. The concepts are more tricky to understand and grasp. The pace of the class seemed to increase. Class relied too much on being exposed to the topics in high school and pre-reading. Overall, participation is key and this class will take up so much time.
Decent lab but it depended on excel a lot which can be tedious and boring. Labs are clear and straightforward as long as you follow the directions and read the theory. Derivations were new to me for this lab. Overall, this lab was just fine.
Mr. Cooke is a great professor in the respect that he knows what he is teaching and can teach it well. Mr. Cooke definitely made class fun to go to and I always looked forward to going. He gives out homework weekly which can be challenging if you do not go to office hours. Tests were extremely hard, but he assigns partners to work with on them.
Mr. Cooke was my favorite professor last semester. Physics was not my favorite class last semester.
Mr. Cooke definitely teaches a hard course, but it is very easy to do well in it. Mr. Cooke encourages office hours (and even requires them). He will also help on homework and other assignments if you ask for it. Your hard work does not go unnoticed and will be reflected in your final grade. His class was my favorite this semester.
Professor assigned a lot of homework and course took much time every week than anticipated. Lecture attendance is required but they aren't useful, as I found I needed to complete hours of textbook reading to understand topics covered in five minutes in class. You will probably do well if you time to suck up to him and go to office hours every week.
Mr. Cooke is overall a very good professor. He is very knowledgeable, and clearly enjoys teaching physics. Go to office hours, participate in class, and know that he will allow you to get points back on almost all assignments. Just talk to him. Programs bonus points into the class. Tons of work and time-consuming, but your effort = your grade.
This guy is awesome, but know how to study and avoid asking stupid questions.
The class is time consuming and can be difficult, but go to office hours consistently and do a lot of practice problems. Mr. Cooke is helpful and encourages questions.
Despite being an introductory physics class, this class wasn't a super easy one. The tests threw curve balls at you and really tested whether or not you understand the material that you were taught, but you were able to weight sections and there were a million other grades besides tests, and lots of EC. Plus, Mr. Cooke is super helpful during OH.
What really sets Mr. Cooke apart is his personality. He's very kawaii and nonchalant, like a character, which makes class/office hours really fun and engaging. He's also a big fan of his kitty cat, Beanie, and Genshin Impact, so if you share those interests, you'll have plenty to talk about. Overall, he's a great teacher and an even better person.
Read lecture notes the same day after class for better undesrtanding
Physics is a challenging course, but Mr. Cooke makes it possible to do well in the course. The exams are good reflections of the challenge problems, and there are a lot of extra credit opportunities. Mr. Cooke is approachable in office hours and helps with homework assignments. I will miss having him as a professor, but I will not miss physics.
Was not really a fan of physics at all, but Mr. Cooke was able to make it somewhat bearable. Lectures are very fast paced and tests are extremely hard. Attendance and participation really matters, as well as office hours.
He is good at teaching itself, has good examples in class and explains things well. However, he is a very tough grader and there is very little room for error when taking the course. If you bomb one test, your grade at the end of the semester will suffer.
Mr. Cooke's class is a lot of work, especially for students taking multiple challenging classes at once. If you have the time to put into lots of homework, projects, corrections, and office hours, then you'll certainly manage in this course. Mr. Cooke does care about his students and their learning. Best advice: attend office hours often.
Tough tests and lots of homework. Mr. Cooke is a good person and a good teacher, and you can tell he is very well educated in the topics he teaches. Lectures can be very hard to understand sometimes and it is very easy to get lost for whole chapters at a time. Overall I am just happy to be done with physics at the end.
Mr. Cooke's a really smart guy, however I didn't like how the other PHYS 104 section got cancelled. It's possible to do well in his class, but it can be difficult and a lot of work for a 100 level class. There's many ways to get points though and he requires office hours so your grade really depends on the effort and time you put into it.
Mr. Cooke is a very knowledgable man as this is his area if interest and he is very well versed in the area of physics. He is very approachable in office hours and very reasonable, allowing you to have an enjoyable experience in his classroom.
In the domain of Microsoft Office, Mr. Cooke emerged as a deity, wielding powers and proficiency beyond mortal comprehension. His command of the software was nothing short of divine, leaving those who bore witness in a state of reverential awe. To watch the perfection with which he controlled the digital realm was a truly transcendent experience.
I believe that Mr. Cooke is an amazing professor who manages to turn what could be a mundane lecture, into a class that is engaging and enjoyable. The assigned homework is great for developing a better understanding of the course material, and the exams, while difficult, are a fair evaluation of the topics covered in class.
Mr. Cooke is a great teacher and it shows in his class. He acts very refined and knowledge about the subjects he teaches. The only complaint I have for him is that his class is very hard and he can be pretty tough at grading. I only recommend his class if your ok with taking a difficult class. He is willing to help and only wants you to succeed.
This professor was amazing! He was great at explaining physics concepts and was hilarious in class. Don't be scared to talk to him he doesn't bite! He was the best professor that I had so far! I will be taking him again for next semester.
Mr Cooke is a great lecturer however he puts in an insane amount of homework for us to do. It is a lot of work, and while it is easy points to boost your grade, it will take up more time than almost any other class. The exams are usually much harder and a bit different than what we do in class and on homework, lots of outside the box thinking.
Mr. Cooke was a great professor and I am taking him again next semester. Participation in his class is extremely important. He is always available for help when you need it and while he may be a tough professor, his class is worth it because you learn a lot and he helps your grade with lots of bonus points.
Mr. Cooke's class is very systematically set up making it easy to follow. Items are graded relatively quickly and the grading criteria is clearly explained. The class is very lecture heavy with an emphasis on using the textbook for extra help. Staying up to date on the material is critical to not fall too far behind.
The professor always tried to make his students understand the topics and was easily accessible for office hours
Mr. Cooke was always quickly available for students and their questions
The teaching style was fine but some elaboration might be needed in a few topics because the professor just read off the slides. The material covered in class was covered in exams which was fair.
Mr. Cooke is great teacher if you put in the work and do what you need to do. The exams are partner which helps a lot and if you have any questions he's always super available to help. I would definitely recommend taking him if you want to try and enjoy physics class and not just sit through it.
He was pretty good, tough grader and impossible exams.
It is a tough course but Mr. Cooke is always available for extra help. As long as you put in the work, you can and he wants you to succeed
do the readings and hw multiple days in advance and always at least once raise your hand in class.
Mr. Cooke is incredibly knowledgeable about physics and wants his students to understand it too. He is available a lot outside of class for help, which you'll definitely use often. He is very heavy on homework, with multiple long assignments every week and a tough grader, which can make this class difficult even if you understand the concepts.
Genuinely, the hardest class I've ever had to take in college. The tests are extremely difficult, and hours upon hours of studying will maybe get you between 65-75%. Partner tests also only help if you get a good partner, a bad partner will heavily handicap you. Everything is self-taught as he moves extremely quick through the material.
The class is extremely time consuming to do well. Partner tests are not always fair. Cooke is very reasonable and responds quickly to emails if you have any questions. Class felt hard for an intro.
Physics in general requires you to put in the hours in terms of problem questions and this applies to his class. You need to understand both the concepts and have the algebraic skills which he teaches succinctly. His exams take them to the next level so you need to stay on top of the homework and challenge problems. Make sure to ask questions!!!
Good professor. For an intro to physics class it is pretty challenging compared to other universities, honestly should be scaled down a lot because it is an intro class. There is partner exams assigned at random so having a bad partner kinda screwed you over on the exams.
Genshin impact made me wet. Love his hair style and whole persona.
Mr. Cooke is a good dude. It was overwhelming sometimes for an intro to physics class, but I presume he does this to make you work harder. Definitely the most organized class I have ever had at Bonas, so props. Exams were new to me with partners but I honestly preferred solo, because it commanded you to know the material more. Learned a lot. Cheers
I barely participated because I was pretty shy and as a freshman in his class it was brutal. He focuses too much on his video games and hentai stuff. Sometimes he would get frustrated when people asked questions and he was gaming. I wouldn't take his class again. He's not a bad person but he honestly seems too bored to be here.
Mr. Cooke is a great professor. He is super helpful during office hours and wants his students to understand the material, not merely memorize it. There is a huge workload for this class, but it is all for the benefit of student learning.
Has a really good understanding of concepts presented. Lectures are thorough and as long as you read the textbook readings before lecture you will have a good grasp on how to solve problems. He is also very good at being available for extra help.
Mr. Cooke is a very particular grader that has a set style on how he wants you to get your answer even if your answer is correct. He is also ready all the time for office hours. He provides a lot of bonus points but you still need to really work hard for your grade. He sometimes talks about irrelevant topics which waste class time.
Overall, Mr. Cooke is a very knowledgeable professor. He is very open to addressing concerns during his office hours. He does very rigorous partner exams, but his course is structured in a way that extra credit significantly helps your grade. This class is very difficult, so it is important to practice material to prevent falling behind.
Great professor, amazing class and better teacher.
I wanted to pick more than 3 tags for Mr. Cooke. He is EXTREMELY tech savvy, has clear grading criteria, encourages you to participate to get extra points, and has lots of extra credit, which is very nice (speaking of, this rating is actually extra credit). The tests are partnered which is good (I like talking during exams, so it was nice).
cooke was cool, liked his class but it was hard.
I wanted to choose more tabs to describe Mr. Cooke. He is EXTREMELY online savvy, has clear grading criteria, encourages you to ask questions, and gives a sufficient amount of extra credit (speaking of, this rating is for extra credit). He also gives partner tests, which was very nice for me since I usually talk to myself while taking an exam.
mr cooke made me love physics! can't wait to have 104 with him again in the fall
Tough but fair professor challenged me to do my best and allowed me enjoy physics.
Mr. Cooke was a slap to the face for my first semester as a college student. He threw students right into the curriculum and if you didn't know how to work one drive or excel and were new to all the technology, you were on your own. His grading was extremely harsh and most of his tests sat around a 70. Very smart guy but not a good teacher.
Mr. Cooke's class made me realize I hate physics but I really liked him as a person. Extra credit was clutchhhhhh
Mr. Cooke is great at what he does. As someone who does not enjoy physics (and does not have physics in my future) I really enjoyed how all of the hard work paid off in class. The homework and participation really helps boost your grade. He is a ton of work but the grade pays off in the end because of it.
There is a lot of homework, expect to spend time in office hours
Get ready to read the textbook and participate to get participation points. The test is hard so get ready for your grade to be recked. Definitely go to office hours and get help!
Make sure you go to office hours to get help with physics lab! Get good lab partners because you can choose for this section!
Mr. Cooke was a very difficult professor with expectations that exceeded the introductory level of a physics class. The problems he would provide on the PowerPoints sometimes do not match the problems given on the test. However, he is always willing to help you when you need him, and makes learning physics interesting.
I love Mr Cooke as a person, and he can be a great professor to learn from. The problem is that he packs too much in the course. After exam 1 he starts to rush to hit his arbitrary quotas. There is too much of an emphasis on quantity and not on quality. The class is a living example of burnout you aren't learning, you're just mass producing.
Mr. Cooke is a really good professor. The work he teaches can sometimes come off as overwhelming and too much. Mr. Cooke cared about my grade and offered assistance where necessary and not many professors do that, so I was really appreciative of that.
Mr. Cooke's class is most definitely hard. After having him for two semesters though, I can confidently say that if you put in the work for his class you will be fine. He is often available for extra help whether that be in person or through Zoom. There are also a good number of extra points available.
Be ready to work hard at keeping up with the material as there is a lot to cover. If you stay on top of this you can do very well in the class. Mr. Cooke is also willing to give points back on certain assignments if you do corrections in office hours which helps your grade a lot.
Teaching style can often times be hard to follow. Moves very quickly. Possible to understand all or most of the material just takes a long time. The amount of hw that assigned is a lot and the exam are hard. The only redeeming quality for exams is that you get a partner for them but the benefit from that is dependent on who you are assigned.
Mr. Cooke was a good professor, but his in class lectures are hard to follow, and are often not as helpful as the textbook. Mr. Cooke is great in office hours, and concepts make sense if you go to clarify with him there. He was not available at all for questions during finals week, though.
Mr. Cooke is a nice guy but his class is exhausting. His system is good because you can still get a really good grade if you put in participation (even if you don't understand physics), which I appreciate, but it is still a lot. I think his lectures are way too fast. I did the best when I found time to go to office hours.
Professor Cooke is an incredible professor who is very knowledgeable in the subjects he teaches and has very accessible office hours spanning from in person, to online on zoom, and even his personal phone number. Doing well in the class is easy as long as you go to his office hours and ask for help when you need it.
Mr. Cooke's class is good but moves very fast and can be very overwhelming with the amount of homework. You need to be prepared to go to office hours and put in several hours outside of class every week in order to do well.
Be prepared to see the universe collapse within a slit second. The second semester of physics flies by so quick that you need to be prepared for the lectures and lab beforehand by reading the book. Try to go to his office hours as frequently as you can near the end of the semester if you want understand the course material.
He is an extremely smart guy, but sometimes it feels like he gets annoyed when you don't know something. Make sure to crack a few jokes with him to get you on his good side! Very hard class but extra credit is amazing. GO TO HIM FOR HELP. He will give you points back if you explain your errors!
Egad. WUT!?
He, is very intellegent and has a very standard for his students. He execpts you to put 100% effort into this class. He wants you to learn but often in his tests the questions are too difficult or just feel way confusing. He very good at making the tests fair however but my only major problem is him rushing the final unit otherwise a great teacher.
Challenging course, but Professor Cooke is helpful if you put in the effort. Use unstuckstudy and office hours to stay on top of the fast pace. Overall a worthwhile experience.
Horrendous professor
very difficult class, however he is very fair and if you go to office hours it is very helpful.
Mr. Cooke knows his stuff and is very helpful, especially during office hours. His fast-paced lectures and heavy homework load can be tough, but he offers extra credit in class if you participate but I didn't take advantage of them as much because I was too nervous to raise my hand and risk being wrong. His class just wasn't my thing.
This professor moves whether you are on board or not, therefore get help and stay on top of work and assignments in order to succeed. Work with people in your class. Tests are very hard however the SI's are helpful, (sometimes more than the actual class). Overall hard teacher and grader but you will learn how to study and not be shy to getting help
Cares about students and is passionate about physics. Challenges you to think
Mr. Cooke goes through lecture way too fast, it's almost pointless to try to take notes during class. His example problems are not helpful at all, and the homework problems are questions that are nothing like his tests. Only 1 A was gotten on a test all semester. Prepare to learn more about Excel than Physics. The textbook is terrible as well.
Professor Cooke is explicit about his test guides but the problem occurs when you go to review for the material because the questions on the tests are not really like the ones in class so you are basically forced to rely on AI to process class lectures and test guides in order to study effectively and efficiently.
Mr. Cooke is one of the best physics professors I've had! He explains tough concepts in a clear, approachable way and is super patient when students have questions. He's also really supportive during office hours and truly wants his students to succeed. If you're willing to put in the effort, you'll learn a lot from him.
He teaches a very hard class with high expectations, but he is always there to help
Mr. Cooke is an incredible and knowledgable professor. However, the class and curriculum is very difficult. His exams are very difficult, but there are a lot of excess points in the form of participation, homework, and extra credit. You can do well in the course even with relatively low exam grades. I respect him highly and he is good at his job.
Lab is a difficult course. He is very particular and if you don't have it as he wants it, he will take off points. There is a learning course for how to take his class. See him outside of lab to ensure good grades. Overall, not that bad though.
Mr. Cooke is very passionate and knowledgable about the material he teaches, but the content can be difficult to grasp. Exams are very difficult, but participating in class and completing the homework can help boost your grade from a low exam score.
Professor is quite tough, but makes a great effort to help students understand the material. Even if test grades aren't great, the course is still set up to help you succeed.
Mr. Cooke's lectures aren't super helpful, but visiting him outside of lecture to get help and ask questions is. The site that the homework is on isn't great, but if you go to him with questions, it will really help your grade. He can sometimes seem a little cold at first, but he wants to help you and wants you to succeed in his class.
Go to office hours whenever you are confused so you do not get behind. The course is not the easiest, but Mr. Cooke is extremely accessible and helpful. I would recommend reading the textbook and seriously asking him any question you have when lecture seems to be going too fast. He is very smart and will take the time to help.
Very accommodating towards students and their schedules. Always able to help during his office hours
He can be hard to understand but knows the material well. I found going to him during office hours to be helpful, but be prepared to be there for a while. Test scores were generally not amazing.
He's a bad lecturer but great during office hours. His lectures consist of clicking through a hard-to-read slide show at Mach 2, but when you actually talk to him, he explains everything very well. Doing well in his class is like a fun little game—which I actually like. I also LOVE his Excel grade sheet. Overall, good professor, but goes too fast.
Hard class, but if you put the time in, especially going to his office hours, you will at least pass. Cushions his tests well with homework, attendance, extra credit, and group projects, all of which he will check before you hand it in to make sure you get a good grade, and understand the material.
This class was too challenging for the lowest level offered. If you don't: understand math easily, know Excel, participate in class, or do well on tests (especially with a bad partner), you WILL fail. Lectures and the textbook assume you already understand. I would not recommend this class to anyone else, nor would I retake it even if I fail.
Tough class, and professor moves very quickly through material in lecture. Helpful in office hours if you know the right things to ask about.
Mr. Cooke first comes off as fast paced, and it seems like he just rushes through everything. As the course goes on, you start to realize it isn't his fault he goes so fast. He actually just has a lot of curriculum to get through in the time he has. He is actually a great teacher, you just need to make time to talk to him outside of class.
Far too advanced for an intro class. The professor knows the material well but teaches very quickly, making it hard to follow without a strong math background. Tests are extremely difficult, the solo-exam option hurts the curve, and even office hours only help if you already know what to ask.
This professor goes through the material way too fast and spends class time on useless questions that do not help students understand the material. I would rather have him spend time actually working through problems and answering student concerns. He has several rules for exams, homework, class, you can lose points fast but get lots of extra cred
Focuses heavy on math, algebra skills are very important. Tests follow the given guides but are a lot harder than home work problems. Fast paced class but it is necessary to get through all the material, I recommend reading the textbook on your own - something I should have done more.
Expects you to know a baseline of physics before taking this class, which is hard when you never took it in high school
Make sure to read the textbook before class and copy down the formulas because the formulas make it easier to do the practice problems in class. He walks around during class while you're working on said practice problems and will help you. He has a lot of office hours and is almost always available outside of class and he is there to help you.
This professor has his own unique system and grading scheme like nothing I've ever seen before, it's almost a game. Every test you weight different parts of the test based on how well you think you did, different grading schemes based on what you choose, and a lot of extra credit to be earned in various ways. Learned a lot, would suggest him.
This class is pretty hard and you have to put a lot of outside effort in to pass I would say. The homework takes forever but actually doing it would definitely help your understanding. Kinda scary to ask questions at first but helpful if you go consistently.
As the most basic physics course SBU offers, this course was anything but. The exams were incredibly difficult, confusing, and had me praying I would get hit by a car on the way to them. Mr. Cooke made this class unbearably hard for people by not explaining how to do any math and have us try to decipher his awful slides and teach ourselves.
If you want to learn Excel but not physics, then take this class. If I wanted to learn Excel, I would be an accounting major. He is specific about what he is looking for, and if you don't follow his particular format, he takes off points. No pre-lab lecture and confusing setups with no explanation from the professor made labs run over by hours.
This class is difficult. Be prepared to do most of the learning on your own. The lectures are very fast paced (which is understandable because of the large amount of material needed to be covered). However, Mr. Cooke is helpful during office hours and wants you to understand the material.
This class was far too complex to be considered introductory in my opinion. The professor will help you if you ask for it, however he can be quite intimidating.
If you're taking him without any experience of physics... good luck. Lecture is a jumble of rushed math problems without any explanation on how to do them before having to attempt to do them. Reading the book was helpful in a contextual sense but did not help with the math. He also makes the problems almost ridiculously difficult for no reason.
Mr. Cooke is very passionate about physics, he is very approachable and willing to help. Class participationis necessary for points. Reading the textbook before class is also expected, however, the book is not very helpful when it comes to the actual math components of the class. The exams are also very hard, and not similar to the online homework.
Never thought a course could hurt my mental health so much. The work load was quite extensive and even with reviewing material every day I was confused. Lecture was not helpful as everything was a rush and explanations were subpar. Every time I went to office hours I felt like I was being judged and it honestly made me feel unintelligent.
Uses excel for grading and for all labs so be prepared to use that. You have to read the textbook and somewhat teach yourself because he just touches on topics in class. Always willing to help but sometimes it seems he just expects you to know things without realizing how hard this class is.
