She's nice
IMPOSSIBLE. Study guides DO NOT help. Take another teacher!
DON'T TRUST HER....class is HARD!
Great prof, hard class but for your benefit, awesome person, hard to understand
She has no mercy at all! I aced the class and handed the final paper in late-F
Funny woman, gotta read the text cause tests on things not covered in class
Uses analogies that confuse you more and handouts are hard to understand.
Opinionated - kinda odd for an academic professor huh?

As a non-Psych major, I was expecting to die in the class. But I got an A , I paid attention, took a handful of notes and studied my ass off. Good class, neat professor.
Hard to understand. Take lots of notes, tests take alot of studying.
AWESOME!!!
I love her. She is my advisor and is so great. The class is tough, but thats because she wants you to know your stuff. Study hard and read the book. I appreciate her personality, absolutely love her!
She's not very clear in her teaching method. She's not very accepting either to people who get very sick!
ehh ok...
Her exams are hard, but she gives you chances to pull grade up (extra credit.) Very helpful if you're not trying to feed her a line. A lot of studying.
I love Woo! She's great, class flies by. Tests are hard, but if you study and read you'll do well
She freakin grades your paper compared to eggs and rice. Gimme a break lady. Way too opinionated, said blind people shouldn't teach. Wow, that's cool.
great prof, but hard. need to like her teaching style. one of my favorites, and a great positive on the mu psyc staff
She wasn't much help, but I studied a lot and found the tests rather easy.
Classes are kind of hard, but she is more than willing to work with her students. She is all about fairness.
SHe makes me laugh and I like her but I didn't do well on the tests I think becasue her foreign roots cause her to make them up kinda funny. The class is ok on easy level you might ant to try someone else but she is very funny and pretty nice
funny lady, hard tests
She's a good professor. Her tests are pretty hard, but she is understanding & wants you to succeed - ON YOUR OWN. Will cut breaks & is fair.
Only Psyc professor I didn't like. Very opinionated about all female social issues (hates men) so basically guys should only take the class if there is absolutely nothing else. Tests are also very difficult.
oh my...I was excited to take a course in Personality Theory. Now I wish I wouldn't have. She is not clear in any of her lectures. Goes off in tangents all of the time. Tests are horrible. Avoid her if possible.

nice lady but her tests are impossible and the notes she gives arent very helpful
Nice woman but goes off on far too many tangents to make her lectures worthwhile. She is very funny, but it doesn't help much when you're studying for her tests.
Tae Woo is an extremely nice and funny prof, but this class is very very hard. There's tons of info on the test and it's just crazy difficult.
she's decent with being clear and all. read the book, or skim it at least, because studying the handouts alone won't help you for the test. quizzes are rough and tests are tough. but extra credit opportunities are always there.
Great as an advisor. She expects a lot, but is more than willing to help. Tests are hard, but fair.
She is a good teacher. Her exams are just hard.
one of the best psyc profs. is hard, but just study! VERY VERY funny! not biased, very fair and knowledgable. this class had the biggest impact out of all my psyc studies. don't miss social psyc - it is her subject.
Woo is a nice lady and loves what she teaches. Although... that doesnt make the class easy, quizzes and tests are VERY very hard. requires alot from you, but will work with you to make sure you do so. take woo if your up for a challenge.
wonderful teacher-especially for majors. very informative and helpful, she will do anything to help her students but don't expect an easy class, she provides outlines to help studying and she's a normative grader!
Tests are very difficut but studying will help you out so much. The class is actually very interesting and she teaches it so well - funny and entertaining. It is hard but not impossible. I learned a lot, and her grading is fair - she will bump you up.
nice lady, but very very very hard tests...I studied lots and still got C's. Shes willing to help you to understand if better if you visit her in office hours!
awesome lady, interesting class, definitely knows her stuff. However, her tests are crazy... not an easy A, but i dont believe it is supposed to be. lectures are a little unorganized, but listen closely and youll get it...eventually.
She is a really nice lady, but her tests are crazy hard. Dont expect to just look over the notes and get an A! If you work hard and study alot you should be able to get a B. I would suggest taking her if you are looking for an easy class tho.
i give her all credit for being nice, but her tests/quizzes are really hard! you must study in order to get B's/high C's. offers extra credit for experiments tho which is nice. Could get a B in the class...would suggest another teacher tho if you can help it!
Fun lady, but very tough. Her assignments are often ambiguous. Lecture is interesting, but often lacks focus. Tests are pretty tough, but mostly multiple choice (1 or 2 short essays). Definately not an easy A.
Professor Woo is a comedian! Makes the class interesting and relates material to aspects of every college student's life. Assignments and exams are challenging but if you're willing to work hard you'll be fine. Psych majors should take any of her classes!
Very funny but very tough. Tests are impossible but see her for extra help.
shes so cute! and sooooooo funny and i dont think she tries to be. she's very informative and loves class discussions. she is always willing to give extra help, and she gives extra credit ALL THE TIME... her tests are a little hard, but she always curves them and she drops your two lowest quiz score
she can be funny sometimes, and tries to help with outlined notes, but she is very hard to understand and her quizzes are almost impossible. she says to read the book, but the chapters are very long and there is too much info in one chapter. lots of memorizing...most of the class got a C or lower.
Definitely a funny lady! for the most part, class was boring except for some quirky comments that gave a good laugh! quizzes r tough tho! there's no right way to study for them! lots of extra credit is given and u can drop 2 quizzes!
Funny lady! Tough tho, gotta figure out how to study for the tests in your own way, everyone studies for them differently! Drops 2 quizzes, has xtra credit (do it, can raise 1/2 letter grade), optional final, but suggested if ur doin bad! STUDY for the quizzes..they are tough!!I would take her again
One of my favorite profs. If you read the book you will get an A! The classes are just to listen to her funny stories. People who think she's hard don't read the book.
She was the best teacher i have ever had! she is so funny n the lectures are interesting...i would recommened sittin in the front cuz she is not the loudest..her quizzes are so easy as long as u study the outlines n skim book.also she gives lots of XC..drops 2 quizzes n dont have to take final!
Lectures are boring, quizzes are impossible, everyone fails. Tests are even worse. All mult. choice answers seem right because she thinks that makes her seem smart. Tries to make up for her bad teaching by giving 2 pt. curves on tests. WOW thanks a lot Woo.
Dr. Woo is the funniest teacher I have ever had. She is so great! I love her! I wish all teachers were as fun, smart, good looking and friendly!
Most difficult exams I have ever had in the 6 1/2 yrs. I've been in the program. Funny and nice on a personal level but incredibly tough as a professor.
Hard as hell! lots of work, got a c, but still remember just about everything in her class? Can't make the connection.
She is very friendly and funny. However, her quizzes are impossible and her exams are outright suicidal to the GPA.
Oh please. She's not that hard if you read the book and stay awake in class. I recommend the whiners take organic chem and then reevaluate.
Dr. Woo is my favorite professor, very entertaining and insightful in class. I could not imagine having not taken this course, it is is a great basis for other psych courses! Take her if at all possible!
good teacher, but difficult tests
She's a pretty fun professor. Her tests require you to read the textbook a bit more than normal making the tests somewhat hard. Overall, she's a pretty good professor. She does count attendance and throws extra credit quizzes and bonus points now and then.
She's really funny but the lectures aren't that helpful. You're going to have to read your book because she doesn't alway get through the outlines that she gives you. But she's great and she's very interesting.
great teacher. She was enthusiastic about the class and very helpful. Everyone totally bombed the first test but got the grades up after that. She gives tons of extra credit and the outlines are so helpful.
This class kicked my butt. It was definitely interesting but A LOT of hard work. Semi-weekly quizzes that are straight out of the book and a few exams. The toughest were her papers that had to be single spaced usually 3-5 pgs. She's definitely a fair grader and has humorous lectures, but be up for the challenge.
Her tests have anal questions and are very hard. Curves tho and easy grades on papers. Powerpoints have weird symbols and notes to herself, confusing She's really funny keeps class moving with her stories, just read book carefully and do ok. Her papers can be hard and gives out too much work she is very smart. She gives quizzes all the time, not super easy but learn a lot.
Prof. Woo is a rarity. You should rely on your books more than her lecture notes, but they are helpful. she's a funny little woman who claims that her fall semester class is more structured, but i had her in spring. gives lots of extra credit quizzes which help. tests are hard but she's a good time.
Don't take Woo. Her lecture, tests, and whats in the text book are all different from eachother. Very unclear, not really funny, and boring. Personality theory is interesting, but I heard the other prof who teaches it is much better.
Dr. Woo can work a crowd. She can be very funny at times and quite charming. However, these attributes do not a good professor make. Her grading policy is as clear as mud (curves everywhere) and you never really know where you stand. Questions on tests can be either nonexistent in the material or ambiguous. You are just left scratching your head
Oh my word! This professor needs to re-evaluate how she teaches and grades!I got accepted into the psych. major BECAUSE the head of the dept was impressed that I even passed her class! It is very hard to get an A in her class. I studied extremely hard and still ended up with a C+. She is unclear and literally appears to randomly mark answers wrong.
My roommate and I both had her class this semester and she is the funniest woman. At first she is structured but half way through the semester she starts giving 8 hilarious examples for everything. Study the notes and definately read the textbook because she tends to trick people with textbook questions. The extra credit points are the best part!!
Great teacher and really funny! TONS of extra credit opportunities, and if you read the book and pay attention in class you should do fine. I really enjoyed her class!
She is an awsome professor! She can go a little off task at times, but for the most part she explains things in a memorable way. She offers plenty of extra cresit, and is always fair when grading. She's really funny, and I know you'll like her!
she's a nut!! she teaches at a graduate level, but cruves like crazy! i loved her for half the semester and hated her for half the semester. she is a good teacher but she is a challenge. take her before you hit 60 credits!!
I was worried about this class but it wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I ended up with an A- because she looks at your 'overall profile' at the end of the semester. She also curves a lot! She expects a lot, her notes are confusing, but interesting subject.
gotta love tae woo. great teacher. tells great stories that go with material. i would take her class. you have to read text and study to do well. gives a lot of extra credit and curves test. take this class. tae is great
tests were hard but she is really funny and interesting. made class fun- but study really hard from the book bc not all her notes were helpful
Great personality, but horrible teacher. Notes she gives are useless, the tests are from the book and out of thin air. If psych isn't your thing take another prof.
I love woo. She's is adorable and so funny. But you definitely need to read the book. She grades on a curve which is nice once you understand how she curves. And if you get to know her, she really does try to help.
Woo is hilarious. She really is an awesome professor. I garuntee a lot of the people complaining just don't actually study- no, it's not an easy class but you're in college now! Get used to classes that you have to actually study for. Subject material is sort of difficult but Woo has clear expectations and makes class fun. LOVE LOVE LOVE her!
Do not take Tests & Measurements. You won't do well. I love Dr. Woo's personality, she's halarious. But this is the most painful class you'll ever take, she warns you on Day 1. Quizzes are extremely difficult, she's an expert quiz maker. You actually need to know the material very well to even pass. 1 final, 1 chapter summary, a paper, daily quizzes
Love Woo! Hard but very smart and has a lot to offer students who WANT to do the work and learn!
I loved her. She is not an easy professor but as long as you study the way she suggests you do (book and notes at the same time) you should be fine.
Funny and personable
Great professor. Excellent sense of humor and rich in wisdom. Personality Theory is a challenging course, but highly recommended as it is heavily theory-focused. Her notes may seem scatterbrained, but using them as a reading guide helps a great deal when preparing for the exams. 3 exams, 4 writing assignments, and quizzes announced in advance.
Dr. Woo is such a nice person and has a bunch of great stories. She is a difficult professor and if you don't like reading textbooks, don't take her. She provides note outlines for each chapter and if you follow them, the class is pretty easy. It is a lot of doing the work on your own though.
I LOVE WOO! you WILL work for your grade, but will learn SO much in the process. She is hilarious & very smart, but also blunt & not afraid to say things most people are. She made me want to go to class and study! Take her!! I'm changing majors & will seriously miss Woo- probably the prof I learned the most from!!
Tae Woo is a funny teacher, you'll love her class but she will make you work for your grade. after class study the notes and read the text book!! examples she says in class mostly be on the test. you have to pay attention. she is also very helpful.
tae is a funny funny lady. She's crazy and makes you laugh as well as provides you with random funny stories. As for taking her class, DON'T unless you need to. Her exams are ridiculous. No matter how much i studied i always got a C-. The only good part about her class is that she curves the grades.
Woo does not have her stuff together. She is all over the place and seems to confuse my class more than help us. More than half of our class failed the first test and she claims it will get easier, but that seems hopeless. Hours of studying don't help and she takes too much time trying to be funny than actually helping us. Avoid for your own sake.
Tae Woo has good intentions. She tries to be funny, which is endearing. Her tests are hard. Read the outlines to study. She knows how to make you work for a grade. If you like psych and are willing to teach yourself the nitty gritty info, this class is fine. But slacking will get you a C or lower for sure. Study hard!
Prof. Woo tries hard, but I found her class to be very difficult and her teaching style to be terrible. I also had a hard time understanding her...she has a bit of an accent. The assignments she gives are vague and abstract. I would not recommend her.
Woo is funny and smart but if you're taking Social Psychology I would recommend doing it at a community college. Outlines, textbooks, and powerpoints were basically useless. Tests are hard no matter how much you study.
OK, her tests are difficult and she's a tough grader. Make sure you go to class, pay attention to her lectures, read the book, and USE HER NOTES! I'm usually an A student but I don't think I'm getting above a B from her...
She provides very little guidance in terms of projects we had to do. Class itself was interesting, but even though I participated, studied for tests, and interested in the subject matter - it was not nearly enough to get a decent grade. I find her to be rude and dismissive when interacting with her.
SO rude...dismissive. not clear at all, sarcastic and belittling. goes on tangents and doesnt give clear grades...i once got a est grade of "limbo"..WHO DOES THAT???
I have seen better. All you do in class is take notes, and the exams are killer. They are so killer (and worth 85% of the final grade) that she curves like crazy. Numerous extra credit opportunities--likely because the grades are so low. Easily goes off on tangents. If you are interested in psychology and don't mind a low GPA, I suggest her
Dr. Woo is a really kind lady, she can be confusing at times due to her accent. Make sure to study her notes that she gives, because that's what the tests will be on. She gives out A LOT of XC so take advantage of it!
This class seems easy at first, but make sure you stay on top of things. Her tests are no joke and you may get a rude awakening after the first one. She also goes off topic a lot, so you are responsible for learning some material on your own. Utilize the online resources, her handouts, and the textbook. Woo is such an adorable professor!
Didn't cover everything in class that would be on the exams. This class was a bit challenging and you really have to understand the subject how she presents it.
Extremely nice and accessible. She is willing to help you. But her tests are extremely difficult and totally concept driven. tests you on things she typically does not teach in class. Most material comes from textbook and online work. You will have to work very hard. Not really worth it.
Shes sweet and funny which makes her hard not to like. However, her teaching style (if she really has one) is extremely hard to follow. Exams are application which she fails to prepare you for. I found the material interesting but still didn't do well on exams. Best bet is to read the chapters and ask her to clarify specific questions you have.
This professor does new things every semester; because of this, her handouts and class project are very unorganized and stressful. Barely pass the tests (challenging), complete your final project, and attend class in order to get a grade of B- or higher. The class is interesting and intrinsically rewarding, but VERY frustrating and a GPA sink.
Very sweet lady who means well for her students. If you take her expect to attend all of her extra credit opportunities because her class is very hard for a 100 level G3.
Professor Woo is bordering on unprofessional. She told me that if my anxiety is so bad that I shouldn't be in college in the first place. And then forced me to drop her class. I will never take her classes again.
She makes you work for your grade. You have to do the readings to do well on the quizzes and the exams. It's not an easy class but you learn a lot
I had her for Personality Theory and she is my advisor. She is a wonderful advisor but in class she is very scattered and unorganized. The projects were last minute and unclear. The tests are hard but she grades on an insane curve so a D will turn into a B- (thank god). Very nice lady but is sometimes hard to understand and follow.
You basically have to teach yourself, and then she gives you clicker quizzes at least 2/3 classes you have per week.
Stay away from Dr. Woo's classes. She didn't grade anything until the tenth week of the semester so no one had any idea how they were doing. I had to withdraw last minute because of that. The papers she assigns are short but ridiculous, and she makes you feel stupid when you ask questions about tests and assignments.
Easily one of the most difficult classes i have ever taken. This class is the reason why I cry on a daily basis. I didn't expect it to be so difficult until the first exam. Studying was hopeless. However, she is a very sweet woman and wants her students to succeed. She gets off on tangents a lot and doesn't seem to teach the material. God Bless you
Dr. Woo is a funny, sweet teacher who truly cares about her students. However, it is insanely difficult. Her tests are awfully hard and we have clicker quizzes at the beginning of pretty much every class. Some days she's good at explaining things while other days I have no idea what she's talking about. I have too many breakdowns over that class.
I absolutely love taking classes with Dr. Woo. She is a wonderful asset to the Psych Department. No, her classes aren't easy, but they shouldn't have to be. She tries to teach her students to learn the information on their own and use real world application. Her handouts are ESSENTIAL to doing well on the tests. I have the utmost respect for her.
Dr. Woo is hilarious and as long as you ask for the help, she is more than willing to help you understand the material. You MUST get the textbook! Test are difficult, but if you prepare every week the material she has presented, you should do fine. Would definitely take her again.
Woo is a nice lady but not a great professor. Her lectures are random and sometimes off topic. Outlines don't really go by the book so expect book notes and outline notes. Give extra credit a lot. Also, doesn't tell you grades.
Dr. Woo is fantastic. Everyone who gave her a poor review took Psych 100, and were probably expecting an easy intro course. Dr. Woo is difficult, but she is an insightful and knowledgable professor. She cares about her students, and weighs all of the material differently, specific to the student. Her tests are conceptual and hard, but you learn.
Her exams are difficult & completely conceptual. You must read the book or you will not pass quizzes/exams. Your actual grade is usually unclear until the end. info is interesting. always looked forward to her class. The only professor I've had that reached out to me after the semester was over to see how I was. Very funny, caring, & personable
Dr. Woo is an AMAZING teacher who gives great lectures and she has a great sense of humor. She is very intelligent and you will learn a lot from her. She gives a lot of extra credit, which helps your grade. Most students in the class love her and she does challenge you to think deeply about theories. I will try to take her for my other classes
Cant fail this class. I always failed the clicker quizzes, I got a 42% on one test, and a C on another. Passed with a C!! It wasn't a crazy hard class but it was specifically for psych majors so it was specific. She does make the clicker quizzes EXTRA CREDIT at the very end of the semester. So you got 2/10 clicker quizzes? you got 2 e.c. points.
If you want to really invest into your major, it is imperative you take Dr. Woo. She is one tough cookie, but my god do you learn the material if you actually do the work. She is adorable, and caring, and incredibly knowledgeable. Exams are HARD but she curves generously. Take Dr. Woo.
I loved her! She was super funny and made me want to go to her class. Her tests and tough but she really cares about her students and wants you to do well. Definitely my favorite professor, would definitely take her again!
She is an amazing teacher. She really makes you think and will have you laughing a lot. I would take a class with her again in a heart beat.
I loved Tae Woo. She was very funny while talking about the course material. You'll read a lot out of the textbook on your own, but it leaves more time for her good stories in class. She gives you lecture outlines for each chapter which are VERY helpful for exams. Definitely study the notes and the book thoroughly before all exams.
Dr. Woo is an awesome professor. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She hands out extra credit frequently. We had a lot of clicker quizzes but they were all extra credit. She grades very fairly and looks at your overall semester scores. I wish I could take her for every psych class. She's quirky but a lot of fun.
