He is a good teacher but is a hard grader.Do not take if you are not a good writer and make sure to fix papers.
He was sorta cute and interesting. He class was hard and I hated at first but after awhile it started to help me think. I hated thinking but my essays in his class and in other classes started to come out better. If you are not ready for a challenge then don't take it.
Excellent teacher. He makes learning English fun and entertaining. He is a tough grader but makes you feel that you actually learned something in his class.
He is a tough grader but you really learn different ways of writing, and your writings improved.
Total jerk, I missed one week of class, with a doctors note and he would not work with me to make up the work, he told me I should drop, delayed my graduation 1 semester.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER, HE IS UNFAIR AND A VEY TOUGH GRADER. HE MADE US DO A PAPER FOR OUR FINAL AND DID NOT EXCEPT IT IF YOUR YOUR GRADE WAS C OR ABOVE. SO YOUR PAPER WAS A WASTE OF TIME IF YOUR GRADE WAS C OR ABOVE. HELPFUL IN CLASS BUT TOUGH GRADER!!!!!!!!!
Horrible and rude!!! He thinks he's teaching at Harvard. Very tough grader and does not like women.
If you want an challenge, take him, he is fun, other english teachers think you are dumb with easy stuff, he helps you write critically, You learn alot more with him. I did.
He is a rude jerk!!!! Very unfriendly and he thinks he is teaching at a top notch college. He talks to you like you are stupid. Very unfair grader! Dont take him
He is a very complex man I assume he has no mate because he hac to much time on his hands and he uses every bit of it to make your LIFE A LIVING HELL.He dose think he teaching harvard.Very picky and unclear about what he wants.Maybe it has to do with persona issues within hisself.
He's nice and interesting however his grading policies are idiotic & counterintuitive. Grades like a Nazi. I somehow managed to get B's on his essays, but didn't know the participation/attendance counted so much because he's not clear & I forgot to do the dumb writing lab so that dropped my grade from a B to a D. Should be based on writing ability.
very helpful and makes info understandle
ok this class is VERY difficult. the teacher is very unclear about exactly what he wants you to write on your papers. HARD grader. should not be teaching enc 1101...maybe literature. do NOT take him...and if you are...DROP OUT.
He is very nice, but when it comes to grading he is very unfair. I worked my butt-off writting essays. It was never good enough. He can't accept that not everyone writes the way he does.
horrible
I didn't think the class was too bad - yes, it's very hard. No, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who didn't do VERY well in English in high school- BUT I learned a lot more about writing papers than I thought possible so if you're really looking to learn something, go for it.
Overall professor houser was not that bad. He was always there to help you on writing days. Overall I would not reccomend this class to anyone who just wanted an easy A. I got an A but i had to seriously worked my butt off.
Funny, charismatic and intelligent. Lots of reading and writting on difficult but interesting texts. If knowledge is more important than grades for you, thats the right man. uuh! i must say... he screams.

Best teacher I have ever had, cute too.
Class seems intimidating at beginning but gets easier as you go. The technical aspect takes a back seat to the content. Prof focuses on your critical thinking skills, wants you to learn to think outside of traditional boundaries. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the class!
recomnd do not take this class, if you have problems withn grammar do not take it you will not learn anything in the complete semester
He's a really nice guy but his class is CRAZY HARD! The things he makes you read and write your paper on don't make any sense whatsoever. He never gives any tests so your grade is based on the essays alone. If you're not a good writer DON'T TAKE THE CLASS! Just make sure you go to every class and he will help your grade if you ask.
Awesome Class! Tai's teachings remind me of the movie "Dead Poets Society." Course consist of writing four 3-page papers based on the movie Oleanna and excerpts from Freire as they relate to your own personal experiences. I will definitely be taking more of his classes! Finally, something i can relate too in real life! Definitely learned alot!!
The first day of class I thought he seemed to be a great guy, but then a few weeks later an essay was due. I have always been an A student in English, but this guy was terrible. Like others have said if you do not write like him he will give you a low grade. He will not help with an assignment like a teacher should. Also, he really thinks he is tea
Looove this guy! the Freire reading is difficult BUT not without purpose...it ties into the other essays great, and if you make it past that, you've gotten through the hard part. if you actually care about learning something and like to think outside the box, you'll enjoy it. Funny and energetic personality also, and classes are short.
I took him for a short session summer semester. Remember this and you'll do well: 1. Don't summarize. 2. Make your thesis points "what," "how," and "why" and you'll do well. I LOVED how fast this class was and how little we had to be IN class. He got me to think beyond the three point thesis.
I took him in the summer right when he got his PH.D. I liked this class; the discussions were interesting. Do the reading and write your essays. He makes you think on a totally different level. He is open to helping students improve their essays. Overall, taking Dr. Houser will definitely benefit you in the near future. I'm glad I took him. =)
to be honest his classes are very interesting but to me his english class seems more to be like a literature class where u have to be a very good writer. he only grades essays and u must hand in ur homework on blackboard..which sucks because its a pain in the behind.
Be prepared. T does not inflate grades, despite many naysayers expectations. I earned a B in his 1101 class, but managed an A in 1102 once I had a more firm grasp of his requirements. The content that he teaches is difficult-but very mind opening. The B hurt my 4.0 HLS chances, but that is not what college is about. Remember that.
Man where do i start.. Dont get me wrong he is a very nice teacher, but his class sucks. The way he teaches confuses you and the papers that are due everyweek are confusing as well......
I took this professor for 1101 and 1102. Tai is very cool, the class is a hard. I had 4-6 essays that are 4-7 pages. He also has a lot of discussion boards that are 350 words. No finals or midterms just essays. You have to really understand what he is looking for in order to get a good grade on essay, so ask a lot of questions, and go to class.
good teacher
I wish i would have known about this website before I took his class..... He doesn't teach you anything on grammer but thats all he grades on, he will say that he doesn't your first day but he does. Plus you just read stupid chapters out of books on how education sucks in schools and "anti-teaching" (?) It's didn't learn anything in his class.
teacher sucked. didnt teach at all with little/no help. essays every class meet. i wish i looked at this site before i picked this class!!
Hard Grader
Great Professor. Engaging, entertaining and knowledgeable. He is über liberal, Makes his worldview and opinions known with little room from rebuttal and much foul language. would not recommend to any conservative students.
OMG!!!!!! I HATED MYSELF FOR TAKING THIS MAN'S CLASS, HE IS A HARSH GRADER. IF U DONT WANT ANY C's ON UR TRANSCRIPT PLZ DNT TAKE HIM. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
Dr.Houser is a bright man. His class is thought provoking as well as entertaining. I would recommend anyone who like new ideas, entertainment and thinking to take this course. Note: his grading is truly hard.
THIS GUYS IS AN IDIOT.. GRADES HARSH AND YOU DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WANTS...I FAILED.. JERK!!!
Okay. Just because someone may have a P.H.D. does not make them intellectual AT ALL. This professor is very vague, anal, and shows favoritism to students who aren't deserving of it. I jumped for joy when I received a freaking B on some of my papers, and English is my forte. He isn't clear on corrections and I wish I took it with someone else.
Worst English professor you can take at BC. Stay awayyyy. If you care about your GPA, this guy won't help you out. Assignments aren't clear, confusing grading scale, unclear grading criteria. STAY AWAYYY.
I had a difficult time with this class. I ended up with a B in the class. It was a fight though. He doesn't give out A's FYI. You have to be very chill and almost unprofessional when conversing him with him for him to understand you. He identifies proper confrontations as anger. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but that's the name of the game.
This class was difficult, however, I did barely scrape by with an A. It is possible to get an A in his class, but you are going to have to work for it.
My English 1201 was taught on line. The teacher was in Europe all summer. He gave no help or no guidance. His attitude was "figure it out yourself." Class went from 40 students to 7. This man did nothing to help his students. I would tell everyone stay away from this professor. All work was graded after the class was over. This is not a teacher.

This teacher offered no help or assistance. He was in Europe on vacation. Any email request was ans: "figure it out yourself." 40 started the course and 7 finished. I don't understand how a guy like this gets paid for nothing. He graded all papers at the END of the term- so he offered no guidance at all. Avoid him.
IF YOU WANT TO TEACH YOURSELF THEN TAKE THIS COURSE. THE PROF. DID NOT INPUT ANYTHING FOR THE ENTIRE COURSE. WISH I COULD GET PAID FOR DOING NOTHING. STAY AWAY FOM HIS CLASS!
I loved this class because of all the in depth conversations we would have over the material at hand. His class was not to hard and I got a "A" BUT I will tell you that I took AP Lang in high school thus the material was not as hard. His grading is o.k not so bad and he does help you out. However, he wants you to figure things out on your own first
Good personality, but TERRIBLE prof.Hes super hard.Gives structures & lectures that seemS 2 make sense, til u try 2 write a paper.Hes very unclear on what he expects 2 be in a paper & then gives u a bad grade for something u did, that HE told u to do that way.I dont know if it was me, but I hated his class & didnt learn anything. Expt 2 teach urself
I took his class online. I do not recommend this to anybody. He does not tell you what you ae doing wrong or how to correct your writing. He keeps sending you to the MLA, writes maximum a few words as comments to the assignment if any.I got a B, but I really worked very hard at it. He requires to buy a code for online class, he never uses it (waste
this professor is quite a good teacher. He stimulates you to think critically, beyond you even thought you could. But,if you qare the type who does not like challenge, do not take him.
I am in Prof. Houser's online section of ENC1101. At mid-semester (right after the deadline to drop the class without academic penalty) his grading has gotten suddenly much harsher, as the weekly workload doubled and its grade weight tripled.
Professor does not have clear guidelines, doesn't teach or give feedback. Expects the student to know it all. Harsh grades for "blind" homework. I do not suggest anyone who'd like to learn, to take one of his classes.
Prof H. is mentally stimulating and helps one to think 'out of the box'. He is better suited to teaching the more advanced students because of the level/standard at which he lectures. I enjoyed his classes and certainly came away, a much better, more learned student. Kudos, Dr. Houser!!
he answers your questions with more questions and is never clear on what he wants. he grades harshly and there are barely and assignments so do good or you will fail. did i mention i would never recommend this class to anyone? because i wouldnt.. -___-
Dr. Houser is brilliant!! I found his teaching style to be incredibly effective and his help improved my writing so much that when it came time to write essays for scholarships, I actually was awarded many of them. I highly recommend his class as he makes it fun and creative. Read, write and learn!
this class was half online and half in class. the course work is very easy if you know what to do. If you do not know what to do like myself, get outside help. I wasnt that g8 at writing papers, so i asked him what he was looking for in a paper, his response was "thesis" which doesnt help bc he cant explaint to you how to develope "a good thesis"
This professor was horrible. He censors your work even though he tells you that you can write a paper about whatever you want. I had him for ENC1101 online and it was a disaster. He is not clear in what he wants, and does not know how to give good feedback. I would highly recommend NOT taking him.
He is a tough grader I suppose he tries to be helpful but you never know with this professor. He gives little feedback if any and I found myself following the very few recommendations he does make to still get the same grades B average. He is an okay professor doesn''t make learning fun or interesting but than again he doesn''t have to.
I did not like it ! he is not a good teacher, is a tough grades, don't explain, and don't help!! worst class ever
Gives feedback on rough drafts, you correct mistakes he finds random things to deduct points from. Never clear with what he exactly wants. Harsh at grading, he expects you to know how to write like an published author. Class ended on the 16th, today is the 19th and grades still are not in. This class will make you feel helpless.
I'm taking Prof. Houser online and so far, so good. Most of the discussionsessays will be on the short stories he gives. No textbook required. As long as you quote and structure your essays well, he'll give you full credit. He gives a lot of feedback and tells you what he wants out of each assignment. Easy going and very helpful!
I took his class online and overall I learned a lot. He is always there to answer e-mails . I needed an extension on my paper at the last minute and he didn't give me a problem. Very nice professor. NO TEXT BOOK
Not a good professor. Too Critical. You turn in a paper to only have it returned back with all these things wrong with it. He gave no positive feedback. And then I would correct the paper and he would criticize it all over again with different things wrong and gave me low grades. I asked for help and he didnt help. He was not consise and clear.
Dr. Houser is a good professor if you like to be challenged. But, if you're bad at English, this is NOT the class for you. Some of his feedback is not clear and when you ask him to explain, you're still left in confusion half of the time. I managed to get a B+, but only because I'm good at English. He is a TOUGH GRADER. Beware.
This was certainly not an easy class. If you do everything you are supposed to do, you will pass with an A. Take advantage of Broward's Smarthinking Writing Group! They are amazing. I will take Dr. Houser again in any future English or Literature classes!! Thank you!
Gives thorough feedback. Not easy at all but he dramatically increased the quality of my writing. As long as you correct the issues he points out to you, you will do fine.
It was a very easy class and didn't take much time. No tests, only papers. He takes a lot of point off for small things, but extra credit helps. Easy to pass, but don't expect an "A" unless you're very good writer.
By far the worst teacher I have ever had! When grading essays, he criticizes instead of critique. When asked for assistance or to elaborate, he answers sarcastically as if he is being bothered or does not want to help. Completely disgusted at his attitude and lack of interest towards his students. I passed with a B, but I recommend no one take him.
Professor Tai Is awesome. He gives a reasonable amount of work and he is a fair grader. His feedback was always helpful and his communication was on time. He is very helpful and caring. I would most definitely recommend him to anyone who is taking English. I am very grateful to have picked his class.
Overall, a pretty average teacher. He gives you enough time to complete the work, and offers three points to your final grade if you've completed the extra credit. Devote a few hours a week to the class and you'll pass.
Do NOT take this class. The professor is unclear about what he actually wants. He also thinks you should be a professional writer in a basic English class. Doesn't give good feedback or help when asked.
I was surprised to see Dr. Houser's low rating because I genuinely enjoyed his class. Although it's a lot of work, I found myself learning a lot and receiving positive feedback. The papers you write in this course are reflections, basically he wants to read your "brainstorm" on a topic. The final test is a combination of past quiz questions.
Dr. Houser is not clear. We had to write reflection assignments (he claims short) but requested them to be 3-4 pages long. In all actuality that's a research paper. Took him for a 6 week summer course but the amount of work he gave was entirely too much for 6 weeks. When sent emails for clarity he didn't provide it. The Worse
I took ENC1101 online and found the class to be pretty easy. There is a moderate amount of work but it is definitely reasonable. He is a picky grader and his syllabus is kind of vague but he allows you to resubmit assignments if your score is really low. Not an "easy A," but you can definitely achieve an A if you work for it.
was ver helpful whenever i had questions about assignments.
This class wasn't too bad. Professor is good about grading and is okay with you turning in papers late. There was a lot of work but most of the papers were short unit reflection papers. A lot of reading but you don't really need to read every thing. Kind of medium difficulty.
He is a good professor even though I am not sure what grade I received in his class yet. I had a hard time with a couple things which he walked me through.
I took this course online in Summer for 6 weeks. There are a lot of reflection papers (6 total) and 11 discussion posts and the final exam! There are a lot of reading so be prepared. Overall, its not one of the easiest class but its manageable if you put in the work and time. The Professor gives good feedback and youll learn in this class!
Pretty easy class as long as you take the quizzes and do your discussions. Midterm and final exam are based on the stories read in the units (very easy) and one five page paper due at the end of the course. He replies fast to his remind if you have any questions which was helpful
Always provided you with feedback if needed. Was very quick to respond to student concerns regarding the course. Had to read a few novels for certain assessments but overall a good course.
Took this class as a working student. The content, the writing load, and pace of the due dates made this online course difficult to manage. The papers written become redundant, and uninspired. The reading required took hours, plus keeping up with discussions and a ridiculous powerpoint presentation due in an online class. Truly tedious- don't take.
Full-time employed & full-time student- Online course. Lots of reading. 11 short quiz/1 Final/ 6 Discussions & 6 Reflection paper/ 1 ppt. project. All the info is in the course so you have to read it. Time mgmt is important depending on you lifestyle I travel 90% and was able to do this. Doc. H is always accessible & responds quickly. TAKE HIM!
This class wasnt overly difficult however there is a lot of reading required, and a 3 page paper due for every unit along with quizzes and discussions. This class requires a lot of time, but the professor is helpful.
Lots of reading and content. The assignments are fairly easy, the reflections for each module are based on the content and you cant use outside sources which makes them easier because its all from your own brain but also difficult. Prof. Houser is very nice however, I would take his class again. You learn a lot.
Professor Houser is probably by far the best professor that BC has. He a professor that really cares for his students. Took this HUM1020 online and put such a great effort to ensure his students learn the material and pass. As long as you put forth an effort you will pass
Professor Houser is a good professor but the workload for his class is a lot!! We had 6 Reflection papers that all need to be at least 2-3 pages long, 11 quizzes, 6 discussion posts, 6 replies to your classmates' discussions, a 2 part museum project, and a cumulative final. All within a 6-week time frame.
the quiz are easy and the discussions too. the only bad thing is that you have to read a lot and the reflection papers are horrible. He grade them as copy, but he says to use the class material. So we all have almost the same information. so, he should put something different such as you can do it with your own words.
Great professor, the best online class I've taken.
Great Professor, I missed a few assignments and still got a B. He will def make you work for you grade. Always available for questions and very nice person. He does care about his students.
One of the hardest classes I had to take! (worst then chemistry) Quiz, discussion and an reflection assignment each week. No book but many articles/ stories that were long and you had to remember specific details for the quizzes. Half of the quizzes were proctored. The worst thing ever is the museum project, jump on it early.
worst professor even taken
I took this class Fall 2019, and this is class is a lot of work. Literally. There are 6 reflection papers, each one needs to be 3-4 pages long, one museum project and 11 quizzes. More than half of the quizzes are proctored. This professor does the absolute most when grading papers.
I have taken a lot of writing courses this was by far the hardest class I have ever taken 10 papers,7 quizzes, and A LOT OF READING MATERIAL! I would not take again..I pray I pass with a B but a high C will suffice.
The overall experience in this course so far has been very disappointing for the average college student taking this class. The professor has way too much content in each unit lesson and is leaves poor comments o the reflection assignments and doesn't explain what you did wrong and leaves comments that make no sense. Not worth taking.
Each week there are about 3-5 readings, 3-5 lessons to read, an assignment, discussion + 2 responses and a quiz. Her assignment instructions are very vague, sometimes links video's that don't even work and then grades poorly. Her outlines gave zero instructions and with all that being said, she still doesn't care about helping her students succeed.
GET READY TO DO A LOT OF VIDEO WATCHING AND READING! 8 reflection papers + a novel essay. 8 discussions + reply to 2 people. 7 quizzes with a midterm and final If you plan on taking this course DON'T! RUN! If I knew this would have been a nightmare I would've stayed away. #StayAWAYY (I am not exaggerating)
RUNNNNNNNN! Not exaggerating A LOT OF WORK! 8 paper + a novel like he treats this as if we're in an honors LITERATURE COURSE when it's just a INTRO CLASS. Will NEVER take or recommend again to anyone.
Tough grader but knows what he's doing.
Very tough grader. Didn't expect to pass but I did. A lot of reading and writing. Glad it's over and i'm glad I passed.
He means well, but as a professor he does a lousy job. His assignments are unnecessarily difficult for no reason at all. He's a nice guy, but as far as his teaching goes, you're better off staying away from him.
A lot of work (reflection papers) for no reason. You HAVE to read a lot in order to do those papers. 3-5 articles per login. Also the are a lot of quizes
Tai Houser means well... Would I recommend this class to anyone no? Do you have to take this course unfortunately yes... Reflection Assignments were unnecessary difficult and a tough grader if it isn't exactly what he wants. I usually am not one to complain but I've never done so much work and time put into a class. Overall I disliked Humanities!
I decided to take this class because I needed it for my transfer college. At first glance I thought that there was a lot of work and I was nervous to take this class. There are 12 tests some proctored. 6 reflection assignments were unnecessary. 6 discussion which were interesting. The museum project was the biggy. He's a tough grader!!!!!!
Great professor! Really cares and gave me wonderful feedback. He wants you to learn. If you're looking for an "easy A" you are going to be sorely disappointed. You're going to work in this class and that's as it should be! Anyone who rates Dr. Houser poorly is allergic to actual work and wanted an "A" for just showing up. I loved this class.
You have to read a whole novel within the first three weeks of class. 1 paper per unit (8 units) plus a final deep analysis paper (6-10 pages) that counts for 25% of your grade. He will not give you more than an A unless you teach him something with your papers (in rubric). Very easy to get a B if you aren't careful. Not very thorough feedback.
I wouldnt recommend this class, especially if you have other classes with heavy writing Make sure to check everything thru turn it in I never used it before and received an F for an assignment I wrote myself because of plagiarism I still cant figure out how to make a turn it in account so I dont know why I was graded that or what was plagiarized
Took his online class and had learned a lot from it. The class is a reading class so expect to do some reading, but overall the class wasn't that difficult. As long as you accomplish your assignments you will be good.
He does not give Extra Credit. He says he thinks extra credit is a Lie! There's so much reading and not to mention the discussions and research papers are way tooo much! Run for your life! Don't take him trust me
He's a tough grader. At least two reflection papers per week! You can't cite any outside resources cause you will be flagged for plagiarism. So many discussions and extra work for being an intro class. He doesn't give any extra credit. He will instantly lower your grade to a C if you missed even one thing in the rubric. . DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
Professor is not caring or understanding
Hostil
He's extremely vague and horrible at responding to email's. Has no inclination to help students. Does not give extra credit! Has way too many discussion posts and makes the class harder than it needs to be. Bases the entire course around Through the Looking Glass.
You write a short paper (500-600 wds), participate in an online discussion and do a short quiz weekly. As long as you read the lessons and follow the rubric, the assignments are an easy A. All the proctored tests (2) are super easy, He provides all of the questions in extra credit assignments. Submit your work = super easy class! Not much feedback.
I do not think this class with Prof Houser was a problem. I took him in Spring 2022. He is a very nice guy and a fair grader. It's just a lot of students do not put in the work. Whenever I finish a module he always checks on me. And he boosted my grade from a B to an A for all the hard work I did. PUT IN THE WORK AND YOU GET REWARDED, SIMPLE!
HE MAKES EVERYTHING TO COMPLICATED,HE IS SO QUICK TO GET YOU FOR PLAGIARISM AND SLOTFUL TO ANSWER YOUR EMAIL,AND HE ATOUGH GRADER,HE JUST MADE HIS ASSIGNMENTS WAY TO DIFFICULT,
Very difficult in communication. I got a 0% for essay with research, because I used wrong formatting and some recourses not from the library. I think he is just like perfect assignment, but the problem is that nobody is perfect.
This professor takes this prerequisite class way too seriously lol. Like us students take other classes expecting humanities to be easy and he just says nah. But if you put in the work and do the work before the day it's due you will truly be fine.
I took this class over the summer and he thought I was cheating because I got an A on the first test I told him that is stupid why would I cheat he didn't even give me a chance to explain my point of view and if I cheated I feel like the whole class should retake this class because the whole class cheated. But I wouldn't pick him
Tough grader, not much feedback on assignments. So many papers and annoying discussions. Work load was very heavy and not a reasonable teacher at all. I would not recommend him. My final grade being a C- came from me not doing most discussions and bad on proctored tests which is crap. Other than that I scored high on all papers and the final paper.
This is NOT AN EASY A CLASS, you really need to hunker down and put in the work. Though he came off as easygoing, he doesn't tolerate mistakes, this class is very difficult for those who aren't naturally gifted in writing. Read every single instruction given multiple times or it will likely cost you a letter grade. One of the hardest LIT professors
I do not recommend taking him for HUM1020, he makes his assignments very difficult and wants everything perfect.
This professor genuinely sucks. His assignments are vague, the rubrics even more. He will dock points if you "don't demonstrate a complete enough understanding" of the subject in your 500 word summary of each unit. He doesn't answer emails properly either. He is pretentious about not allowing extra credit either. Not worth the time at all.
His expectations are way too high for a class that's supposed to be easygoing/fun. He's an extremely tough grader, assigns an absurd amount of work, and overall a stressful teacher. I've had science and math classes easier than this. Save yourself the trouble.
Awful, he gives too much work. And is super strict with grading. Don't get you hopes up with extra credit.
Doesn't pay close attention to grading. Gives no specific feedback and instead uses a generalized rubric for all the discussions and assignments. You will lose points and have no idea what you did wrong so you will have to email him to find out. Discussions aren't visible unless you remember to sign up for an accountability group for that unit.
I've never had to deal with such an unprofessional, rude man in my life. Syllabus was EXTREMELY vague and subjective. Email responses were hostile. Grading varied based on the professor's mood. Refused to provide constructive feedback, or answer questions about the vagueness of assignment syllabus. Absolutely horrible experience. 0/5 DO NOT TAKE!!!
This class takes so much of your time. We had to read 3 books on a 6-week course to then write an essay on each book. He is a tough grader, not many people got good grades.
He does not answer your questions directly. I got answers wrong on his quizzes and the right answer is never available for comparison. Upon asking him, seems like he doesn't even know. I wish he took the time to assist his students more instead of brushing us off because of his personal travels that he decided to take within the class period.
I thought he wasn't going to be a good professor based off of these reviews and I was really nervous and not ready to do allll this work. He was awesome! Lots of reading yes, papers, yes, but it's really all easy work if you're not lazy and just do what he asks. The papers aren't even bad! Don't listen to others and make your own experience.
Makes a subject like Humanities seem super stressful and difficult. Grading depends on his mood. Assignments do not have clear instructions. He claimed that my essay was plagiarized and wouldn't listen to an explanation. Failed me even though I scored an A in my final exam. If you value your grades, time and effort DO NOT take him as a professor.
Won't let you turn in late work or redo assignments. I took the class online so attendance didn't really matter. AI or anything else trust me he will give you a 0 and possibly make you fail the class. I almost dd but then he gave me the benefit of the doubt and gave me the grade i deserved which was a B. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!! No extra credit!
prof doesn't care about his students, isn't understanding at all, takes forever to reply, just bad overall. course has like 300 assignments in the first 5 mins, for an intro class, why am i reading 3 books and 15 poems first week??? do not take. it is ridiculously easy to lose the A. he'll also give you an F for plagiarism for turnitin being 30%...
Expect to have 12 things due in 2-3 days. Just very rude sounding in his emails, doesn't care about your grade. The whole class was so stressed out. Gives about 5-6 reading assignments and then quizzes you on them, along with a reflection paper, discussion, and scenario every week. Don't take this professor, save yourself the stress
For a project we had to do, he required a fully detailed spreadsheet of who did what responsibility, how long we are assumed to take on that particular task, and how long it actually took us. Along with dates and comments for each task. This is also in addition to the actual project itself and a review sheet for everyone of your team members.
Took this class as a sped-up online course as a first time dual enrollment student over the summer. Class had about 4-6 pages for lessons, 3-6 readings, a discussion, paper, and optional reading quiz every 2-3 days. Proctored midterm and final exam on top of mid-term and final paper. Teacher was passive aggressive and had a rude tone in emails.
The mans honestly just really rude and gives way too much work for an intro - easy class. Not hard if youre good at english but it would be hard otherwise. Choose ur profs wisely.
There is explicit content in his assigned reading. When I reached out saying I am uncomfortable with the material he gave a short unsympathetic response saying quote "The assigned readings are the assigned readings. There are no alternatives."
Prof is very rude, doesn't care about his students. will fail you for turnitin being like 30%.... completely unmindful of his students (gives like 300 assignments in first week alone). do not take, take ANYONE else. hes also rude in his emails and is completely unhelpful when asked for clarification. if you have him, good luck, you'll need it.
Challenging professor with high expectations. Lots of work, but engaging if you put in the effort. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for essay prep. Overall, a rewarding experience if you're willing to rise to the challenge.
Take the comments seriously and run away from this professor. This class was awful. He is very detailed to what he is looking for on the essay to the point where he is only looking to fail you instead of teaching you. I pass the class with an A but i would NEVER recommend this professor due to the amount of stress and rudeness you have to deal with
Bro said my paper was AI generated so i tried to email this professor to prove to him it wasn't and he purposely blocked me so he wouldn't receive my emails and just added a text on my last assignment saying I have a F for the whole semester. Do not take this class
Please don't take this professor! You will be miserable and he is a horrible grader.
This professor was hardly ever clear with ANY of his instructions. Gave passive aggressive responses laced with attitude and very uncaring. Would not recommend him to anyone. Clear example of why not necessarily all high degree holding individuals should teach. Possibly one of my worst online classroom experiences.
Every week theres a new module, for every module, there is a discussion board, assignment, and quiz to do. Sounds like a lot, but it really doesn't take long. Very easy questions, easy to get good grades. Course material is interesting but he teaches using this virtual study abroad program. Final project is a group project. can be frustrating.
The work in and of itself is easy; you just have to keep up with it regularly. It was the professor's attitude that threw me off. He is rather unsympathetic, but expects his students to have sympathy for him. His final project is unnecessarily convoluted. I enjoyed the class material, but I would never in a million years take the professor again.
Not a good professor at all. Tells you that you can ask questions about the class, but is always irritated when you do reach out for help. None of the assignments instructions makes any sense, so be aware that you may miss an assignment. Every single student in the class is confused. Terrible class! Don't do it!
