Her notes are very clear - no confusing powerpoint slides

Very clear and understandable

i loved this lady, she is very motherly and is really sweet. she makes it easy to understand but you do have to keep up in the book
Pretty easy but you have to do homework
she is very hotttt!!! it is good to look at her when i was taking this class!!!!!
One word... "Awesome"
Great instructor! This class covers managerial accounting fundamentals. She does an excellent job. Do your homework and go to class and you will be fine. However, you better brush up on your financial accounting before taking Acct 3110!
She is the best teacher I've had at Auburn. Very nice and helpful. Tests come straight from notes. Go to class and speak up and you will do great.
This is who you want for Managerial Accounting. Not very much homework and test are pretty fair. I would take her again for another class.
She makes accounting easy to understand, very helpful and nice. Always lets us leave early and doesn't require attendance(but I would advise going). One of the best accounting teachers at Auburn.
man its just a hard class ... and it doesnt help that she assumes you know freakin everything already ... also, when she like hands things back to you, she lectures on her method of handing them back: "well, im going to put these in my left hand and
Not bad. She is a pretty good professor. Explains the material pretty clearly and the tests aren't all that hard. Took her for both Managerial and Financial Accounting. From the stories I've heard, she's the one to get.
She's a nice lady but her style of lecturing gets on my nerves. Tests are a little trickier that you'd expect so you have to put some time in to practice. I suggest going to class even though its no fun. Plus you do get out early a lot.
Boring class. She acts like she is everyone's mom. Her tests are tricky but as long as you can figure them out you are ok. A lot easier than Fin. Acct.
She makes going to class so worthless, and then has the nerve to take attendence. She also makes the class feel like they are in the 6th grade.
She can't teach! All she does is read the power point slides that came with the book. Tests are nothing but trick questions. And you can forget going to her for help, all she will tell you is to study harder.
The class is very easy. Just go to class and listen and follow the slides you can print out. For the test, just do the homework problems she gives and look over the slides. Hardly any studying required. Got an A.
Easy material. She doesn't teach anything, though. She just reads over the power point slides and does some homework. Usually lets you out early.
First 2 tests are HARD and weed people out. then the last 3 are all easy. nothing cumulative. takes attendance & class is boring. goes over powerpoint slides & works homework problems. ALWAYS lets you out early!
She thinks that she's our mom or something cause she always scolds us about not doing our homework problems. Not helpful AT ALL, and won't return emails which is a clear sign of an awful teacher that doesn't care about her students.
all she does is read the powerpoint notes. rarely explains a problem. tests are fairly easy, but you pretty much have to teach yourself the material.
really enjoyed Mrs. Smith. Recommend her highly.
Doesn't know how to teach because she's a bean counter not a teacher.
first 2 tests were tough. the last 2 tests and the final were much easier. you have to learn this stuff on your own time. 3hrs a week isn't enough time! you must continuously work the HW probs and know the concepts related to them.
You will do good if you pay attention in class and take good notes. Do the homework problems and make sure you understand what you are doing and you shouldn't have any problems on the tests.
easy class. memorize slides and do two or three homework problems before the test and there is NO way you can't pull at least a B. go to class-she drops you if you miss too often. don't think we went the entire 50 minutes once in the entire semester.
She doesn't seem to care much if you pass or fail and treats you like a kid. Make sure that you read and do the homework on you own.
The first two test are the HArdest mostyly review from Finacial Acct. Go to class and Do the homework on your own before the test and you'll be ok. She sucks, if you dont understand she will leave you in the dust and just tll you to read the book.
Tricky class if you are not great at accounting. Need to do homework on your own. The test questions are VERY similar to HW questions. Keep up on reading b/c some of her test questions come from the book. If you do HW, go to class, and read you'll make an

She treats her class like they are childish, stupid children. She seems to demand respect but doesn’t want to give any. She seems to “want” students to fail. I wouldn’t recommend taking her class.
shes ok...do the homework and definetly read the book and memorize the slides..the only problem i have is that her tests are too short..20 questions is not enough..sometimes she says kiddish comments but shes not that bad
She talks down to her students and thinks they are not as smart as all of us are!
great professor - one of my favorites over the 4 years I've been at Auburn!!!
Very good teacher. Tends to treat the class like a middle school class though. She gives you notes to the chapters and her tests are 25 multiple choice questions. That is good in some but bad in other ways.
I only went to class once every other week and only studied the night before the tests and got a B. I am not the brightest kid in the nation either.
A lot easier than Financial; Financial was very difficult for me. If you do the homework problems ON YOUR OWN before class its not so bad. Study the homework problems and the examples in the book for the tests. Answers questions if you ask her. Overall not too painful.
If you go to class and study the night before this is a very good class. she is nice.
She's really nice and explains everything well. She puts her lecture notes online and they follow the book exactly. Multiple choice tests, not too bad..
She is a good teacher, she posts chapter outlines on the internet, you have to go to class though she takes attendance every day. She also isn't big on helping she refers students to her TA's
Awful teacher. talks to you like you are 5 and doesn't help you at all.
very unhelpful, just reads off of powerpoint slides. just do the homework and go to class and you'll be fine, but her condescending attitude leaves a lot to be desired from her as a professor. she should be teaching middle school.
The fact she has a little ego really doesnt bother me a whole lot. She is fair, she rewards attendance, and if you listen and do your h/w you can draw a lot from her class. All in all she is a pretty good teacher. I'd take her if you get the chance.
she is pretty easy except her tests only have 20 questions on there so if you miss 2 you drop a letter grade. she tells stupid stories and shows childish videos but other than that she is a good teacher to get.
the material is hard but if you go to class and study you should be ok. the tests only have 20 questions so that makes it hard to get an A. she is pretty nice and seems to be approachable.
The class itself isn't an easy class; however, Ms. Smith makes it as interesting as possible to make the learning as pain free as possible. In addition, she is pretty straight forward as well as clear about the material. Dwn. side class is grade only exams & they are only 20 Qs-Do the math
I have had her for financial and principle... you cant just breeze through, BUT it is a great class and she is an even better teacher, and this coming from a pre-law student. I RECCOMEND HER!
She's a nice lady but her class is really hard to get an A or a B. Her tests are really hard because they're 20 questions that are nothing like the homework problems. Helpful Hint: Do practice tests from the book's website to study.
Class is just not that hard... i dont see what people are complaining about... if you put effort in, you will get a B AT WORST
She's not that bad y'all. The problems on the test ARE like the hw problems. Those people that said she was hard probably didn't come to class. Each test only covers 2 chapters, and she goes over ALL hw problems in class. If you can't get an A in a class like that, she's not your biggest problem.
Ms. Smith is the best. I'd advice anyone taking Managerial to take her. She is very clear. Even though the class only consist of exam grades with each exam only 20Q-counting 5pts each-If you go to class and pay close attention to the hm wk problems you'll get the hang of it. Good Exp.-Just wk at it.
She's an awesome teacher I just wish her exams had more questions on it. The best advice I can give is DO the homework it's exactly like the exam problems
It's not a terribly easy class because of the 20 question tests, but if you go over the homework problems brfore each test and read through the notes, it's relatively painless. Having had both, I would recommend her over Miller.
Awesome teacher, study the homework and the notes and understand them and you should be golden. Go to class and if you have trouble talk to her!! She is very helpful
You have to work but she is really fair!!! Best accounting teacher available.
Great teacher. Seems kinda mean at first, but she is really nice. I took her for two classes, and I would take her again if I could.
This is a tough class. Her test are very tricky. She tells you exactly what to study. Inorder to do well, you have to know the info well. If you try you will do fine.
If you do the homework and study for the tests, there's no way you CAN'T make an A. Her tests are only 20 questions, but they're fair and they force you to know way more than you're tested over, which is the point. Do well in here, and you should fly through cost accounting later. She's a great fundamentals teacher.
Accounting is hard, but she's a good teacher. Laid back and willing to help. If you read the book, do the hw and practice problems, then you will be ok.
Talitha is a great teacher. I had her for financial, managerial, and cost accounting. She pays attention to who goes to class so make sure you go. All of these classes are very manageable.
easy... if ur an acct or finance major and cant make an A... change ur major
She is a great teacher. Do the homework and go to class and you'll get an A.

Very nice and helpful, I just thought the content of the class was hard. She makes it as clear as she can. Just read and do the h/w!!!!
Best Accounting teacher you can get!
She talks way too fast!!! She obviously knows her stuff, and she tries to make the material as easy as possible. It's not hard stuff; she just flies through it! You should definitely read the book and pay attention in class. If you do that, you'll be fine.
go to class and try to pay attention. very boring lectures but she takes attendance. homework isn't collected but it helps to do it anyway. tests aren't bad if you just review the night before. almost always ends class early.
She is a great teacher, You have to go to class though and read/do the homework to undertand. If you do that the class will be easy!! So nice
Easy class. Possibly the easiest Princ of Finc teacher. Go to class and she makes it ridiculously easy. I sometimes wonder if this is really college level teaching. If she is teaching any subject. TAKE HER CLASS. It will be the easiest by far.
Love her! You should take her!! Do the homework and know the notes well for tests. She is a really sweet person! go to class also because it def. helps in the end
Terrible teacher! Doesn't know what she is doing! Avoid her! However, go to class but don't talk because she is pretty anal about the slightest noise!
She is a good teacher, and very fun to look at!
It was a hard class made a little easier by Talitha. I like her alot and she will help you if you ask. I am not good w/ Accounting and was happy w/ my C. I didn't do as much as I should have.... DO THE HW!
Not an easy class, but Talitha is def the best teacher to get! She assigns homework every night and its very important to keep up with it. Accounting did not come easy to me, I had a tutor and was very happy to get a C.
this is the best accoutting teacher at auburn by far. Anyone that says differently is dead wrong. i had her for financial adn then someoen else for managerial and have regretted it since. GET HER IF YOU CAN

Take her if you can!
I love this teacher!! She is very clear and explains things well. Also, she is not a typical accountant-she has personality, a sense of humor, and she's really cute and pretty! I struggled in financial but I am doing much better because she is such a good teacher. I would definitely recommend her-esp instead of Tabor.
Easy class. Need the book for homework. Tests are pretty easy. Go to class, pay attention you'll be fine.
This professor is great. She is prepared, clear, and willing to help. Not a typical accounting professor.
Not an easy course, but she is a good teacher, nice, and approachable. Get a tutor early if acct is not easy for you- don't wait! I had a low F on the first test, but I worked hard and got a C in the class. Class is only made up of 4 tests. If you are close to next grade after final, she will bump you up if you attended regularly. Get her!
Hard material. Pretty good professor. Tests are fairly easy and final is not cumulative. Recommend.
This is an easy business elective. She gives extra credit & you don't have to go to class. If you missed 3 or less this semester, you didn't have to take the final, but the final is just another regular test. She doesn't really know what she is talking about, but it is an easy A. Read the book & make a chapter outline & you will have a high A.
I like her. Nice change from the rest of the uptight Finance professors. Just read your book & notes and you'll get an A. Class attendance not necessary.
Good teacher. I would highly recommend
She is just bad! Don't take her class!
She is definitely one of a kind. She is really willing to help and wants everyone to understand the material. If you do your homework and attend class regularly she really notices and will help you out anyway possible! She is easy on the eyes to top it all off!
Class is fairly straightforward and if you read the homework and do the problems you are assured an A or B. She is a super nice teacher and very easy on the eyes. She is always willing to help out if you go to her office hours.
Basically principles of finance, but way easier b/c it's none of the calculations. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you miss less than 3 you can skip the final. Easy HW due once a week or so. Tests are straight forward and easy if you read the book. She keeps the test averages at very high B's. DEFINITELY take her!
Take her! She's a great teacher and very nice!Homework is due every week but it is very easy. Her tests are straighforward..I just went over her slides and read through the book once. The tests are only on 2 chapters which is really nice. You don't have to take the final if you have less than 3 absences.I highly recommend taking this class!
Mrs. Smith isn't a particularly great teacher, but she makes great use of examples from her past to make the material understandable and applicable. The HW takes a while, but really helps. Tests aren't terrible, but you def. need to put in the effort and study. I would recommend for sure!
She is pretty easy and pretty hott
Really liked her. Would like to have her again. :)
I had her for Managerial Acct and I have never had a better teacher. I would recommend her to anyone for any class whatsoever. If you are signed up for someone elses class and have the opportunity to take her drop the other immediately and sign up for hers.
TALITHA IS AWESOME! go to class because its not that boring and she almost always lets you out early. she does take up hw at least once a week but its not too difficult. test are 20 questions MC. never made below an A on the tests. Final is not cumulative and only 2 chpt are covered on each test. with the effort you could definitely make good grade
No excuse not to make an A in her class with a little effort. I didn't pay attention in class at all and did the homework a couple of nights before the test and I made an A.
Class was super easy. No excuse for not making an A, just do the homework. The test come straight from the homework questions. Class could get a little off track and could get a little boring. However, she is really attractive, so it was worth going to class to stare at her. I would definitely take another one of her classes.
Very easy class. Go to class and do your hw and you will get atleast a B
Her class is easy. Do all of the home work!! Her final was bull. She upped the number of questions from 20 to 25, but that still doesn't change the fact you can only get 2 wrong to get an A. If anything she just made it harder and longer. Overall the class is an easy B.
This class is really easy. She gives bonus and her tests are straight from lectures and practice questions. The information is interesting and she gives great personal examples. She is the only person that teaches Small Business so definitely take her for an elective. If you miss less than 3 days, you don't have to take the final.
I had her for Small Business Finance. The tests were super easy and straight from the notes. Go to class and you won't have to take the final exam.
The tests are common business knowledge. She really tries to make you work for the grade. Homework due every other day that's pointless. She's nice though. She doesn't allow laptops without e-book so get one. This class is roughly the same thing as ENFB 4140, but the lectures in that class are a little better, and there isn't homework.
one of the best teachers I've had. Not hard to get a good grade as long as you attend class and do the homework and bonus. Would recommend to anyone taking ACCT2210
Take Smith for Small Bus Finc. The final is optional with less than 3 absences. She almost always ends class early, and is mindful of her class scheduling during football season. Fair tests, lenient grader, homework for completion. Definitely take her if you're looking for an elective.
I took managerial acct in the summer with Mrs. Smith and it was great. i did not mind attending every single one of her classes for 12 extra bonus points. She does have an attendance policy, miss more than 5 unexcused and you receive an FA. BUT she gave all the material you would possibly need to learn the material. She made the material seem easy
Get out while you still can! She takes attendance and takes homework up only when she feels like it. (SO MUCH HOMEWORK) Her lectures don't help you at all on the tests so read the book. She's not very approachable and not personable at all. Hire a tutor. It's your only hope for passing unless you just love accounting.
DO NOT TAKE HER! Worst teacher I've had at Auburn. She talks about herself the entire class period. Her test are extremely difficult because she doesn't teach the material. I repeat do not take this teacher.
She is super chill and isn't bad at all. She does give a lot of homework and randomly takes them up. Has 5 tests only covering 2 chapters at a time and no comprehensive final. Do the homework and you'll make a good grade on the tests.
I had Talitha for small bus finance. This was one of the easiest classes I have taken. Even though it says finance, its basically an intro to entrepreneurship class. Most of the time class was 30 minutes and the exams were easy. She really loves talking about herself. TAKE THIS FOR AN EASY A.
Talitha is a fantastic professor. I've had her for both managerial accounting and small business finance. As long as you do the assigned readings and homework, you can make an A. She also gives a decent bonus for attendance. If you skip class and don't do the homework, you'll probably make a C or B at best.
She makes small business very easy to understand. You can get exempt from the final long as you haven't missed 3 days of class. Not too much homework and the tests are super easy. She lays out what is on each test. Take her!
Mrs. Smith was very intimidating at first but ended up being one of my favorite teachers. She's clear with the material and teaches from a powerpoint which is all that will be on the test. Do the homework and go to class, pay attn. She gives a 15 point bonus for perfect attendance. Her tests are 20 questions but I made As and Bs on all of them.
Test questions come straight from the reading and homework questions at the end of each chapter. If you know the chapter and can complete all of the homework questions with ease, expect an A in this class. Always do the homework.
I thought Mrs. Smith did a great job of teaching small business. She would tell you exactly what was going to be on the test, and she never kept you the whole class time. I would definitely take her again!
The class is of decent difficulty. Studying is huge for this class. Her tests are only 20 questions so there is a lot of information and only a small bit chosen.
this woman is difficult... she does not offer any additional help to students. you are on your own! don't bother emailing because she will never answer questions on the mandatory HW she assigns. she must be tenured bc she only talks about herself in class and does not care about her students. no GA for help either, she gives a list of tutors for $$
It physically pains me to sit in her class. All she does is talk about herself and her business. Never touches on the material, if you take this class you will be teaching yourself. She is completly useless as a professor. Nothing she says is viable. The class isn't hard, but if you are bothered by her talking about herself, don't take.
If you only miss 3 classes, you don't have to take the final. The tests are extremely easy. I usually read through the slides 1 time and have made an A on every test. There is one project and homework regularly - graded for completion. She talks about herself the whole class period, but if you aren't bothered by that, take this class. Easy A.
Mrs. Smith is awesome. Took small business as a 3000 level elective and it was a great course. EASY to get a B and definitely a doable A if you go to class and study for the exams. Averages were usually a high B for the exam grades and they're 99% from the powerpoints she posts. Allowed to miss up to 3 classes and still exempt the final!
Talitha is interesting. She enjoys teaching, which is a plus, but goes off on so many unrelated topics including her recent purchases from Banana Republic and her dealings at the concession stand for the team her son coaches for. The stories and quips are sometimes related, but often not. Also there's homework every class period.
Its not just book knowledge, it was practical, real-world knowledge. Dr. Smith was very approachable and firm. Classroom rules were fair and applied to everyone. She found ways to make us laugh and enhance our learning. If we only had 0-1 unexcused absences, she gave us a big bonus at the end of class. Great professor.
Mrs. Smith is the worst. Not only are her lectures boring and hard to follow she doesnt ever stop talking about herself and her opinions on everything. She dosent teach anything just expects you to read and learn everything from the book
If you have to take managerial accounting, take her. She's helpful and straightforward. It's an easy class if you show up and pay attention. It's not a very useful course because it is such basic material, but she tries to make it as practical as she can. She has more relevant business experience than most teachers also
This class was not too difficult and if you miss 3 or less classes you get to exempt the final. As long as you don't mind listening to Mrs. Smith talk about herself for 3 hours a week, take this class and you'll be fine.
She does not respond to emails, gives zero help, constantly talks about herself. She believes the students are "entitled," "lazy," and will "cheat" at every opportunity. Be prepared to learn on your own. She creates difficult assignments to deduct points and never covers the material in class with no opportunity to learn.
She redid her curriculum for this semester implementing a "teach yourself" class with online assignments. This worked well for me but if you can't learn by teaching yourself do not take this class. Class seemed like a waste of time to me because while she was working on "examples", she went off on rants. However, I loved the online program we used.
Smith is quite honestly one of the worst professors I have had here at Auburn. There are six assignments for every chapter covered. They are only worth 1 point each and it does very little for your grade but can hurt your grade. Tests are really annoying because they're only 20 questions 5 points each. Take someone else for sure.
Extremely easy class because of the material. Attendance is required but if you show up to class and study the night before the test there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A.
If you need an easy A for a finance/business elective, take this class. She mainly talks about herself and her experience, but when its a small business class and she has made millions off of small business, learning from her experience is better than the book. Minimal effort required, just turn in everything and read the slides and you'll do well
She only talks about herself for 30 minutes, then lets you out of class without teaching anything, so you have to teach yourself. There is constant homework throughout the year that can't really help you, but can definitely hurt. Tests were pretty straight forward and class wasn't too difficult
Take the other professor for 2110. Mrs. Smith requires that you "flip off" your phone every class period, locking it so you are unable to use it. There is homework every single class period, which is only worth one point but takes from 30 - 45 minutes each. The homework don't help your grade at all, but can drastically hurt it.
Basically your whole grade is based on 4 tests. There is homework but it counts for hardly anything. She talks about her personal life the whole class and doesn't even mention accounting. She calls it the "flipped classroom" method but that requires some kind of teaching on her part. Requires you buy an app so she can monitor your phone in class.
DO NOT TAKE TALITHA. If you have any consideration for your GPA at all, you will avoid her class at all costs. The Participation Points will kill your grade if you do not go every single day, the amount of homework you have and the performance on the test do not coincide. Save yourself.
I loved this class! She was very clear about the requirements. We had 4 tests & 10 homework assignments. Homework was easy and the tests were even easier. We also had participation points & as long as you had your phone away 80% of class you got 100%. If you miss 3 or < classes, you are exempt from the final. She has relevant experience as well.
Talitha LOVES to talk. Get ready to teach yourself the material. She will mention some accounting vocabulary in her lectures, but mostly discuss personal things in her life such as her children, trips to Target, and anything other than what is relevant to the course. She requires attendance and uses an app to lure students' attention.
I am a senior at Auburn and she's been my least favorite professor by far. She does not explain the material in class, and expects you to learn everything on your own. Also makes you buy a $8 app so that she can monitor your phone. If you do not want to hear about a professors political views, personal life, and constant rambling avoid her class.
She talks alot about herself but shes a good teacher. You HAVE to attend class!!!!!!! and turn in all homework assignments. Be prepared to hear all about ulta and her rental homes.
I really didn't enjoy this class. Every class missed is a point off, and classes are pointless - it's literally listening to her talk about her shopping habits. Also there are probably around 7 or 8 hard & tedious assignments due every week, each for literally 1 point. She's nice but I didn't feel like the effort was reciprocated from Mrs. Smith.
Talitha is mediocre. Don't expect to learn anything in class because all she does is talk about stories and MAYBE does 1 example problem. You get out early every single day, but you have to go to class bc every class missed is a point off your attendance grade. very easy A tho
Unprofessional and rude. Honestly, the worst teach Ive ever had. Wouldnt recommend.
Very rude. She is not willing to help whatsoever when there is an issue. When you're a senior and you're doing everything you can to pass, I would hope the teacher would be more understanding. Clearly she wants us to just stay here for 6+ years. Cleary doesn't care about her students, only herself
Obviously not on the side of her students and will go above and beyond to make your life difficult over silly things some that don't apply to classes. She is is also incredibly controlling. Forcing you to buy an app that locks your phone and making you attend classes that are a huge waste of time since you're going to have to teach yourself anyway.
I really enjoyed her class! She is a really good teacher; she made the material very easy to understand. Attendance is recorded via an app that will not allow you to use your phone during class. It really isn't that bad since you will (if you're smart) taking notes. Definitely a solid choice!
Small business finance is only taught by Professor Smith at Auburn and she does a great job of teaching the class. I would highly recommend this class to any finance students looking to take a finance elective or anyone interested in starting a small business.
Great teacher for an online minimester class such as small business finance. Easy A if you put in the work. Read the chapters and you'll do good.
Overall, this class wasn't bad. LOTS OF BUSY WORK! The busy work is graded for completion & not accuracy, but still gotta do it. Tests are very manageable if you watch class recordings & go over modules. Just put in some effort & you can do well. Tests are half multiple choice & half short answer, so you need to know what you are talking about
I took this online due to COVID so I dont know about her lectures, but a good portion of the grade is homework assignments.
Don't be fooled by some of the negative reviews on here about Professor Smith. Her class is awesome and you learn material that you will forever use. She makes it very clear at the beginning of the semester what her expectations are and as long as you put some effort into the class, an A is very achievable.
Professor Smith has been my absolute FAVORITE professor at Auburn!! She is one of the most caring professors I have ever met. She loves what she teaches so it makes learning new material exciting and something that you want to learn about. I never missed a lecture. She is an excellent professor who actually makes sure you understand the class!
This class should be called "the economy of lake martin rental homes" rather than small business finance. Sometimes too many personal stories that don't pertain too much to anything at all. Overall, easy class all things being said with good amounts of busy work
This is an elective class and she knows that. She also knows that she gets non business majors in this class and tries to keep it as basic as she can for them. Gives extra credit based off attendance so make sure you go to class. Lets you know beforehand what will be on the test.
Take a deep breath- this class is way easier than principles of acct. Smith gives a lot of homework, quizzes, and tests, but that helps boost your grade. Each test covers two chapters with 20 questions. You don't learn much from the lectures. You learn primarily from the textbook and homework. Attendance is graded, but you have free days.
She talked a ton about herself and like her own business, I also missed like 8 questions all year in the class and got a B. Her tests kinda suck and are only 20 questions and attendance is mandatory.
Please take this class!!!! She has run several businesses throughout her life and is able to tell real-life stories that are good examples of the content you are learning. A typical week goes like this... watch homework overview videos (20min), class, turn in questions from the book (30 min), class, homework(15-30), class, Quiz(35 min time limit)
Mrs. Smith tends to get off topic in class and does not cover much material in her lectures. If you take her I highly recommend doing the smart book activities and working out the exercises she recommends. I did this for every test and never scored lower than a B on any of them. Attendance is mandatory and part of your grade, you can miss 3 classes
This class is the definition of "This could have been an email". That being said, attendance is mandatory and you will learn way more about her personal life than any of us really cared to know. Class has homework that will help your average bc the exams are way harder than necessary but are doable if you study in advance (more than a few days).
Good class and good teacher. The material is fairly essay and enjoyable. Homework heavy and she takes the class serious. Attendance mandatory, seating chart for class and exams, two homework assignments a week, exams are half multiple choice and half short answer. She is nice though and I enjoy her lecture style.
5 homework assignments per chapter. Tests are 20 q, multiple choice, pretty doable. You won't learn anything in class except about her personal life, so be prepared to read/teach yourself. Attendance is mandatory (with a seating chart), can only have 3 unexcused absences before your grade is affected. Class is online most away game weekends.
To get an A in this class you have to go to every class. If you go to every class and take notes then this is a very good class that can actually teach you a lot of great things. Homework and tests are not hard if you go to class. Again if you go to class this class is very straightforward and easy. If you don't go to class don't expect to do well.
I wouldn't have taken this elective if I knew all the exams are written. Like 10 mc then 10-15 written and you write a lot. She outlines what you need to know, but it's a lot of memorization. Hand hurts after each exam. You get extra credit for attendance. Super friendly and interesting woman though. The writtens are like lists too so its a lot per
I just took this class because I had to for credits. If I could go back I would have never taken her. She just skims over the textbook and talks about a business she once had. There are assigned seat and hw is due at 12pm. Her exams are very difficult and are mostly short answer. This elective has no business being as difficult as it was.
My favorite class/ teacher! She gives work throughout the week that really prepares you for the tests and they help boost your grade. I love the way her class is set up and feel as if she teaches things that we will actually use in the real business world. She also has a lot of online/ panapto lectures that really help. 10/10 take her!
She's effective but covers a lot of material. The modules are not a good source. Watch her Panopto's closely, they cover more material. Tests are 20-30 questions, half multiple choice and half short answer. You will need to create a detailed study guide and memorize a lot of material to do well on exams. Be prepared to do a lot of work.
Great professor! Lectures usually didn't take entire class time, are relatively entertaining, and do a good job highlighting important information and examples from the textbook. 5 exams, 20ish questions each (~69%) 2-3 simple assignments each week (5 per chapter)(~28%) attendance grade (deductions after 3 unexcused)(~3%) no cumulative final (0%)
Her strict attendance policy felt overbearing, reminiscent of elementary school with assigned seating and a circulated attendance sheet. It may feel restrictive for students seeking a more traditional college classroom environment.
Honestly it's really hard to do well on her tests since its only 20 questions worth 5 points each. But if you do the smartbook and watch her posted videos+the homework videos, you will do pretty good. Attendance is mandatory and if you don't miss a single class you will get extra credit. Also, a lot of her Friday classes she moves online.
Just mediocre. Lectures are half about her life and half about the material. 5 tests total but no cumulative final. Tests are 20 questions and have questions designed to trick you. Can miss 3 classes for perfect attendance grade. Lots of assignments that do help your grade, but not as much as you would think.
Essentially reads the textbook almost word for word. Usually understood more if I just skipped class and studied it myself, but with her strict attendance policy it is difficult to do that. Content seems overbearing, useless at times, and is just too wordy/lengthy. Math is simplistic (a lot more than financial accounting).
Her class wasn't too bad. Lots of busy work but it helps you prepare for exams. Exams weren't terrible but are only 20MCQs which don't leave room for much error. She can be a bit passive-aggressive at times but it ultimately didn't affect my experience in her class. Based on what I've heard from other 2210 professors, taking Smith is your best bet.
Good lecturer with fair exams. I am glad I got to take this class with her.
Professor Smith covers a lot in this class, but her Panopto recordings are really helpful. Exams are challenging, with a mix of multiple choice and short answer, so creating a detailed study guide is key. unstuck ai and regular attendance can make a big difference.
