Not only is this a great class and is she the best teacher there is, but she will do anything to help a student out and structures her class so that you see how it is essential in your everyday life.

No textbooks, just class notes. Midterm/Final is decided by the class: take home test, group presentation (based on 1 question and open notes), or essay. Gives alot of extra credit.

Professor Arida defines the term "professor". Never in my life have I encountered such a great person. She inspires and motivates, everyone she comes across with. Her Lectures are heart felt. Midterms/tests can be hard if you dont pay attention, and believe me EVERYONE PAYS ATTENTION!! TAKEHERCLASS!

Tammy is a really laid back teacher who doesn't require you to buy any materials or stresses you out about the midterm or test. Great teacher who covers quite interesting material. All she really requires of you is to participate, give one short oral presentation, and to keep your cell phones off.

Tamara is awesome. TAKE HER CLASS. She has been one of the best professors I have had. Also, if you take her (and love her, cuz you will) make sure you talk to a Dean about how good she is...she is not a full time/permanent Professor on campus, AND SHE SHOULD BE!!!

PROFESSOR ARIDA ROCKS!!! she is by far one of the greatest teachers on campus. Her classes were so freaken interesting. She does not suger coat anything and she is up front with you. Class is pretty much based on a mid-term,(which was fairly easy) presentation (which was doable), and a final (fairly easy as well) that is if you study! GOOD TIMES =D

Ms. Arida is not only very intelligent and knowledgeable about the subject, but she is definitely a very attractive individual both personably and physically. The class will teach you a lot about the world, society, and even some things about yourself. Highly recommended for many different reasons.

There is no textbook in this class, yet you will learn something in every lecture. Tammy is a really sweet teacher, she cares and respects everyone in class. Your class will choose how your midterm and final be like, and there is a really easy presentation. She grades really lenient, so don't worry about that. Just participate in class!

Prof. Arida is one of the best teachers I've ever had! She's a super cool & chill woman who teaches socio in the most entertaining way. The lectures are informative & not boring at all. I get 126.5% for this class, super A++++, I believe everybody get A. Professor Arida is very cool and very sweet, there is no text book required for this class, just use relaxable mood to learn the stuff.

If you need to take Sociology 1, please take it with her. Remember that she hates tardiness and grades will suffer if phone rings. However, there are plenty of extra credit available and midterm/final can be taken home if class agrees. Take this class, she is so very helpful.

Laid back and knowledgeable. She's very warm hearted and empathetic. No textbook required. Barely any assignments. Attend class to hear about any extra credit assignments. My cell phone went off in class, but it didn't affect my grade... even though she said she was going to take off points.

This class changed my entire perception of sociology. I expected loads of incessant memorization about the history of sociology (which i feel is not the POINT of sociology to begin with) and a load of bull. Instead, i not only enjoyed taking the class, i looked forward to it. And now, I'm thinking of minoring in sociology. I love this woman.

SHE'S GREAT!! her lectures are a little boring, but she loves what she does. extremely friendly. Papers arent too bad. just do them and do them right, and she'll give you that A. Exams are long but fairly easy if you read your notes beforehand and you know where they are. a DEFINATE GPA BOOSTER!!!

A lot of comments refer to how easy her class is, so I guess I dont' have to repeat that. To me, it is not a class, it is more like a life experience, it might sounds dramatic, but really, she makes you realize what kind of problems our society has and sometimes it upset me. I hated this the thought of this class until the 3rd wk or so, but after that I truly looked forward to attending. Although the subject matter isn't that useful, the discussions are fun. If you are shy, do not take this class because you will not get a good grade without engaging in the discussion daily and DO NOT show up late!

awesome professor, awesome human being. easy class as long as your there you rely mostly on life experience for the midterm and final. I changed my major after taking her class. if you dont like to talk out loud this isnt the class for you. that being said she creates a safe environment for anyone to speak up.

This is my first semester of college and Professor Arida has made it worth it. She knows what she's talking about and she's very interesting. Turn off your cell or the whole class loses participation, and don't be late or you WILL NOT be allowed in class until she takes a break, which may not be at all. She stated that "You come here to learn, it's not my job to teach you. Its my job to provide you with the information". I respect her, she's really informative and knows the subject like the back of her hand. I love talking to her, she questions your thinking and make you think outside of the box. she is the BEST Professor EVER!! I took this class as a requirement but ended up LOVING the subject. She likes what she is doing and knows her stuff very well. she will make you dig into the subject and come up with great thoughts that you had never thought about. Just attend the class, participate and respect the others and you will get an A.

She made a 3 hour class at 7 AM on Friday worth waking up for. Easy A, come in with an open mind and you'll learn a lot. Tests are easy and she makes learning the material easy. Good teacher.

I always looked forward to my 7AM Friday morning classes. She offers countless extra credit activities; there is a one paper, a midterm and final. As you take notes, you should be fine. However, participation is a MUST!

I took her class for the summer session and I'm really glad i took her! Her lectures were always interesting to learn about. Participation is mandatory but its so much fun. The test are easy as longest you pay attention to the lectures and take notes, aside from that it is open book. If you need to take sociology take her! you wont regret it!

Tamara was so amazing. Our class met once a week at 7 am, but I always looked forward to it. Tests are super easy. Open notes, and you can ask her questions as well. The lecture's are the best. If sociology is your major TAKE HER! If sociology isnt and youre just taking it to fulfill General ed requirements TAKE HER! Very easy A her class consists of a research paper, presentation, midterm, final, and participation. She allows you to replace paper & presentation with community service & raising money. She's inspired me to do all types of community work! A real gem of a teacher. Participation matters but it's easy to do in her class. I looked forward to her 7 am class every Fridays. She's one of the kindest people I've ever met and is just absolutely amazing. I am learning a lot from her class. Highly recommend taking her!

What a great class. Show up, participate, take notes, get an A. Most of the class is spent listening to lectures and hearing about Tons of opportunities to get extra credit, so if you don't get an A, it's really your fault.

Professor Arida is arguably the easiest teacher at PCC. There are lots of extra credits and students are allowed to use notes during tests. However if you are shy or bad at speaking English, you shouldn't take this class because participation really matters. She cares about her students, you can discuss any problem with her.

Take this class if Sociology is not your major and you are just taking it to fulfill your general ed requirements. But if you are a sociology major, do not take her. She does not teach, it is a pointless easy A class. She is a very nice sweet lady though but you will not learn anything sociological.

She's the best choice if you're looking for an easy A. No homework, lectures every class. However, she grades almost solely on participation and discussion, so if you don't want to do that, then please don't take her. Other projects/assignments included fun extra credit, volunteering, and maybe essay or presentation.

She's the best professor here at PCC. She makes class time fly and tells amazing stories. You will not regret taking her. She gives out a lot of extra credit. You won't pass if you don't participate in class. There is a midterm and final and your class gets to choose to either do it in class or take home.

Wow where do I start with this amazing professor. She is one of the best teacher I have ever taken at PCC. Her class is Straight forward and is an easy A. You have the option to take home the test or do it in class with open notes. Also instead of doing the research paper you can do an extra credit volunteering instead. You can't go wrong with her.

Prof. Arida was the best ! Her class was super easy, all you need to do everyday is participate in discussions. You will also need to do 1 presentation, 1 paper (or you can choose to do volunteering instead), a midterm, and lastly a final. The final and midterm are both opinion based, so its not too hard. Just remember to participate everyday! :D

Tammie was great. Truely enjoyed coming to her class. Participation is 20% of grade so if your very shy or dont ever raise your hand this may not be your best choice. This class has been the EASIEST class ive ever taken!! All this class consists of is daily presentations from your peers, a paper, midterm, final, and LOTS OF PARTICIPATION. Class taken Spring 2018. She has a fun personality that keeps things fresh. Don't ditch lectures, as most material is learned during the seminar and is also the source of your grade. Your grade is mostly seminar participation, with an occasional easy project/exam. Do not take this class if you dislike talking/showing up. Overall: 5.0

the best prof ever. definitely take her for socioligy. throught the whole semester, you are graded by participation one presentation, and one paper. you can sub ou the paper or presentation for 15 hours of volunteer work. and for the paper, you can turn in any of your old papers from your class cause "everything is sociology".

Best professor! super caring if you don't like talking in class your grade will go down. Overall she is very good she opens your eyes on situations that are going around in our society. I love Tammy! She's such a funny and caring professor. Her lectures are super fun, she integrates sociology concepts with real-life examples for us to better understand. No readings or homework ever. Prof was lit. All we had to do was lectures (don't even have to take notes), optional extra credit assignments, participate in class (write a sentence of what u said in class and give it to her at end of class), term paper, presentation (slides were free tbh), watch documentary and do a worksheet, midterm and final exams. Only skip 3 days.

please do yourself a favor and take Tammy, she's the best teacher ever and her class is simple. One presentation about anything as long as you can relate it to the lecture and a 4 page essay that can be replaced with 15h of volunteering. she always lets the class choose their mid term/final. But make sure you participate 24/7 literally.

Basically, you go there and have a discussion with the class and then go back home. It's super fun, but you need to participate. Or else, you won't get an A. She is very easy-going; just communicate with her. Give you options to take tests at home, choose either paper or volunteering, and on whatever topic you wish. Don't piss her off though XD

Professor is very compassionate ,understanding , and approachable. I really enjoyed participating in her class . All topics that we discussed were about the society which related to the event around us every day. Professor Tammy always encouraged us to participate in class discussions. Professor Tammy's class is laid-back and discussion-driven. While she gets personal at times, the easy grading and engaging topics make it a rewarding experience. Unstuck study AI proved handy for quick prep before class discussions.
