I loved Dr. Carter's class, and I'm not even really a math person! She makes things easy to understand and gives tons of examples. If you go to class (there are pop quizzes), do the online HW, and study a little, it's an easy A. She even drops your lowest quiz and homework grade from the average.

This is by far the greatest math teacher I've ever had. She is always willing to stay in the office with you for hours until you understand the material. She makes class and material extremely clear and tries to make the class enjoyable. Her tests are just like the notes she makes. It's a really cut and dry course what's on the notes is on the test

She is very willing to help and explain things to you if you don't understand. She is very passionate about the subject! I'm terrible at Math and this was the first math course I took at A&M so the tests were a little difficult for me. However the project and homework grades are very easy! Overall an easy A if you put the work into it.

AWESOME prof. Took some getting used to because she was almost toooooo sweet at first but once I realized how much she genuinely cared about me and what I learned, I adored her. She is a great model of what a future math teacher (or any teacher) should be like. Tests are tough but fair. Projects and daily HW give good chance to raise grade.

I love Mrs. Carter! She is such a sweet lady and is willing to help you outside of class. The exams were mostly free response but I liked that better than multiple choice bc you get partial credit!

Dr. Carter was awesome! She is a really great teacher and always is willing to help you if you're in need. She makes everything really clear. She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. She's the nicest lady ever, and her class wasn't easy but it wasn't hard. Easy B, if not an A with fairly minimal work. One HW and quiz a week.

There's 3 group notebook explanations. Two assignments due each class period that are pretty easy. She is SO nice and a good teacher. Go to class. Attendance matters. Make sure you do the suggested homework and ask questions before the tests. Final is not accumulative (blessed).

Prof Carter is so sweet! She posts notes online & fills them out during class. She sometimes moves slowly through the sections, but it is only because she is taking her time to make sure that everyone understands the material. She is available during office hours & is very encouraging. There is usually a quiz after each section & hw due each week.

If you listen to lecture and study the notes before the test you should be fine. I am not good at math and did fine. She is extremely sweet and wants you to succeed. Classes were dull and long, however, tests were over the basic material. Probably would have done better if I did the suggested homework, but I never had time for it.

This class is a little hard, even though it's basic math, because you have to learn how to explain basic concepts. Dr. Carter makes it really easy to understand, and she's pretty flexible, so it isn't hard to do well.

Dr. Carter is an EXCELLENT Prof. She cares about her students and will do virtually anything to help you understand the topic. Her class isn't hard if you put in the work. I would take her again in a heartbeat if I could!!!

Professor Carter is a sweetheart who really wants her students to succeed. She takes the time to answer any questions you have when she goes through the notes. Her office hours are extremely helpful when studying for tests. The tests themselves are not too bad. Study your notes and complete the homework, which is optional. Would take again!

A difficult class because it is unlike any other math class you have ever taken. The 3 tests make up 75% of your grade and there are some group projects but they aren't too bad. Her personality takes a couple classes to get used to but she really does love the subject and her students! Study with friends before the tests.

Carter is so very caring and patient towards students, even those who arent particularly mathematically inclined (like me). Online homework, quizzes and tests in class. No cumulative tests. The math itself isnt at all hopelessly hard, but obviously it was still nice having a prof who was so helpful.

Dr. Carter was by far one of my favorite professors of my entire college career. She is very passionate and she makes every concept crystal clear. I am not good at math, and I do not enjoy math very much, however her classes and lectures taught me a lot and I enjoyed her class thoroughly. I highly recommend Dr. Carter's class to anyone.

Professor Carter is the sweetest lady. She cares very much about her students and the material. If you pay attention and take notes in this class, you should have NO problem. Go to office hours if you have ANY questions at all, homework or tests and she will help you out. She's like being taught by your mom and is a great instructor.

I loved have Dr. Carter as my MATH 365 prof. She's very passionate about what she teaches and cares about her students. I recommend taking her class. I've had friends say they didn't like her, but I enjoyed her class very much. The class is not hard if you apply yourself and tests aren't that bad.

Professor Carter is probably my favorite prof I have had in all of college. She is genuinely concerned about each student and their success. I seriously cannot say enough amazing things about her. I struggle with math and she made it so easy to understand. LOVE LOVE this class and her!

I'm in her class right now! Such a sweet prof. Very nice and cares that we learn. I ask a lot of questions in class and she never makes me feel like I'm dumb for asking. She picks a row to fill in a reading assignment every week. Notes are printable and you have to fill them in. Study, do homework, and ask questions. You'll be fine if you do!

Carter is THE BEST!! SO kind and so helpful. 140 is really easy for me. Some kids struggle but i learned most of the stuff in HS. She uploads print out notes onto howdy and makes things simple. Take carter if you can! She is so sweet

Professor Carter is super sweet! If you go to her office hours she more than willing to help. Only con is that she gives frequent quizzes and she gives them at the end of class after you just learned new stuff so its kinda hard to go backwards for the quiz.

This woman is precious. I had her for MATH140 in Fall 2018 and it was an awesome experience. Overall it is not a bad class difficulty wise, and her fantastic lecturing makes it worth your time to come to lecture. I attended a lot of her office hours at the beginning of the semester and those are great for homework help and awesome one on one time.

Professor Carter is an amazing teacher and person!e If you want to ensure a good grade in her class go to office hours if you have any questions with the homework (homework is not a grade, but HIGHLY recommend to prepare you for the exams), rework the notes prior to exams, and make sure your formal explanations are clear and covers the rubrice

She is the nicest professor I have ever had and really cares about her students. Has lots of office hours and is always willing to help. Do the test corrections if you want to get bumped, DEFINITELY, do the optional homework before the tests. Can be a difficult class but if you try and pay attention it is doable. 100% recommend her.

Prof Carter is definitely a great professor. Do your hw because it will help you on the tests and even group projects. She explains everything thoroughly and her expectations are clear. The book is in the library so you technically don't need to purchase it, but you will need it for homework. She gives note outlines.

This was the best math course I've taken! Attendance is not mandatory but you should show up to hear her lectures. They are clear, she answers ALL quetion (even ones that seem self explanatory) and she goes at a slow pace. There's homework assigned but is not graded. I did all the units homeworks a few days before the exam- the PERFECT review!

SHE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR! This is my second class I have taken by her and she is amazing. Do the homework and go to office hours. It isn't an easy grade but it is worth it. She makes is possible if you try.

Prof carter is so cute because it is so obvious how much she loves math. The homework is not taken for a grade but she posts it to use for practice for the test. Tests are proctored but they aren't bad. I would definitely take her again as she knows what she is talking about!

Great professor. Do not listen to those that say she is not caring or empathetic. She is always available for office hours and is willing to help. She does want things to be done a certain way, but that is literally what the course is about. Really understand the material by studying on your own and doing the homework. I would take her again.

Professor Carter was really sweet and extremely caring, especially during COVID-19 (the class was moved online due to the pandemic). The class was more heavy on your test grades, so definitely study the material she gives you. She is very clear and concise in lectures and will always answer your questions!

I LOVE Dr. Carter! She is so good at explaining the "why" behind math and she is super passionate about it too. Some people complain that she's a harsh grader, but I've found that if you elaborate and go to office hours (she's always available), you will do fine. Don't procrastinate the Formal Explanations b/c they're a big part of your grade.

Professor Carter is a solid professor. Her class really helped me gain insight on what I need to know to teach elementary mathematics. Study the textbook practice problems and review her notes and youll ace every test. Formal explanations can be tricky, but come to class and take good notes and youll be fine.

I was intimidated by Dr. Carter's reviews before I took her but LOVED her. She has high expectations of us and is tough, but as future educators, she is preparing us well. She is caring, very willing to answer questions, and excellent at explaining the topics. I was often frustrated by the nature of group work for our papers, but I learned a ton.

The class is not too hard to keep up with, and Professor Carter genuinely cares for her students. She is very fair, and won't give you some extra help because she treats every student the same. The tests are based exactly on the notes you take in class. Although attendance is not mandatory, there's no way you'd pass tests without going to class.

This class isn't as bad as the reveiws make it sound. The group papers are the worst part, but once you get the hang of it they are easy. The tests were not a big deal at all as long as you study and do the textbook problems. Prof Carter is super passionate about math, and is always willing to help.

Dr. Carter was caring, thoughtful to give great feedback on previous exams and formal explanations. The only downside to this class from my perspective was that we had to work in groups for our formal explanation papers because getting stuck with less than awesome group members made this class harder than it needed to be for me personally.

Was really thoughtful and really cares about her students. I read other reviews but I don't know why others are giving here poor feedback. Ive not failed not one test nor have been close to failing one, she throughly cares. Attendance is NOT mandatory BUT if you want to pass I highly recommend you go, I never missed a class and I that helped a lot.

She is a very passionate teacher and is always willing to answer any questions. The work outside of class is pretty heavy but as long as you attend lectures and start things early it is very doable. To get an A, just attend every class to not miss instruction, do the homework early, do the practice exams and study.

Such an amazing professor. This is a fast-paced course, but Dr. Carter does a great job of explaining the concepts. Sweet professor who truly cares for her students. Class was very engaging and you can tell she really loves her students and math. The tests can be challenging, so I recommend going to tutorials on subjects you have trouble with. Very helpful professor willing to answer any questions inside and outside of class. AMAZING!! Dr. Carter is so caring and really makes herself available to help. I suggest going to office hours if you are ever confused. You do have to work for your grade, but if you do the textbook problems and study the notes you should be fine. There is a group project within the class, but she doesn't grade them too hard.

She loves math and all you have to do are these like 4 questions little quizzes before class, but they honestly take 2 minutes max to do. She does class notes which is helpful and the exams are not hard. There is homework but it's only due the night before each exam and they're not cumulative. Loved her taking her for Math 366.

I have taken Dr. Carter for 366 and 367 and she is truly an amazing professor. Her class is not easy and you have to be ready to put in the work for a good grade, but she does not make it impossible. Do the EPP problems to prepare for the exams and go to office hours. Dr. Carter wants to help and will never make you feel bad for asking questions.

I loved this class and professor! You definitely have to work hard to get a good grade but she is very caring and will help you. The class consists of 3 tests (including a final that replaces the lowest test), 3 papers, 50 quizzes/homeworks (lowest 25 are dropped). As long as you attend class and do all the units homework, you can get a good grade.

3 exams, 3 Formal Explanations, 25 homework grades. Class is a lot of work and you have to go to class. You have to apply yourself and put in the work in order to get a decent grade, but Dr. Carter is an amazing professor.

I loved Professor Carter! You need to go to class to get the notes but she is very good at explaining things and you can tell she is passionate about what she is teaching. She was accessible and wanted to help you understand. Tests were not too difficult. The formal explanations were lengthy but you could get a good grade if you were detailed.

3 exams, 2 Formal Explanations, 50 homework assignments but only top 25 are for a taken. Class is a lot of work but going to class helps with understanding the material. It's a hard class but she's always there to help. She really cares about students and the subject and I would definitely recommend taking her!!

Best math teacher I have ever had. Very accessible outside of class, uses manipulative and other teaching strategies to help all different kinds of learners. No surprises and you know what is expected. Homework is actually helpful not mindless. I am taking her again for mAth 366 because she was so good!

You have to pay attention in class and do the assignments to do well on the tests. Understand concepts! There are three tests (including the final), two projects (essays for tutors), and 50 daily grades (highest 25 taken).

I love Dr.Carter! Her class is definitely not easy. She expects a lot from her students but she is so helpful outside of class. Do all the daily grades it will help your average in the end. This is a class that you can not cram. Attend as many office hours as possible. She'll make time for you. Math 365 is hard but not impossible.

Professor Carter made math so fun! I was worried going into this class, because I've never been a math person, but her lectures and guided notes are so helpful. Her office hours are extremely helpful. YOU NEED TO GO TO CLASS! If you miss it is hard to catch up. Do the homeworks too they help the most.

I took Dr. Carter for Math 365 & 366! She is an amazing professor who is passionate about math and her students. She is great at answering clarifying questions and I found her classes engaging and very equipping for teaching math! She's great & it is an easy class if you keep up with the homework and lectures.

Professor Carter is great! I love her. She does a great job at explaining things! You should know that extensive work has to be shown on quizzes and tests but she makes that very clear from the beginning. The material you cover in this class is pretty basic but you focus more on how to teach it and explain it.

I loved taking MATH 136(which, for some reason, isn't an option to select here) from Dr. Carter; it was so easy! She made fill-in-the-blank notes that we went through in class with practice problems throughout, which created engagement with the information! I also loved the connections between the math we were learning and how to teach it to kids!
