She is a very good teacher and takes a lot of time to help you out with the papers. Kind of obsessed with poems and the novels but she is a english prof.. Awesome prof, fun to have, class does get boring at times, but she ain't all that bad to look at..recommended class!!!

She is such an enthusiastic professor, it's almost impossible to dislike the class. British Literature isn't exactly the most exciting class she could be teaching, but she gets so excited about the smallest details that it becomes an amusing class. She is also very very helpful, understanding, and really easy to talk to. Take her if you can.

I thought from the other ratings this class would be great. Personally, I wasn't impressed. I mean Tammy is a nice person, there's not much outside work and overall its pretty easy. However, the 3 hours go by sooo slow, and half that time is spent in "group discussions" on the readings. Overall it was pretty boring.

Really enjoyed this class.

Will answer any questions that you have and give advice on how to fix it. Allows you to rewrite your papers as many times as you want and hand them back in for a better grade before the end of the semester and tells you exactly what to do to better your grade. By far the best teacher i had this semester, taking class with her next semester too.

Amazing class! She really cares about the topic, and the students, and encourages students to think and talk. I wish she'd lectured more--she knows the subject and explains it so well! She's super fair about grades, too. She really makes you reach intellectually, without being too harsh academically.

I was surprised that I liked this class. Instructor has enthusiasm and that helps a lot. Just read the books, go to class and you'll do fine on the weekly quizes(3 or 4 general questions on the reading) 2 papers due during semester-one 3pg paper and one 6pg paper. She is a very good instructor who communicates well. Books are pretty good as well.

She has been my absolute favorite professor at SVSU so far. She really cares about her students and is really passionate about writing. I would definitely take another class with her and recommend her to anyone.

I don't know a single person who got an A on a paper. I got ONE A- and that's the best I did, and I got straight A's in high school. I've never worked so hard in a class, and it doesn't pay off. She's a nice lady, but I wouldn't recommend ANYone to take any of her classes. Learn from my mistake.

Mrs. Migan is a great teacher & person inside & out. She explained things well & was extremely kind & helpful. Yes there was alot of reading but its a womens lit class so its to be expected. Put in some effort, stay on top of reading & show up & you will do fine. Highly recommend her, she is very passionate about literature and it's infectious:)

ms migan is extremely nice and friendly. she will go out of her way to accommodate students. about four or five total papers, most of which have peer critiques, and they do not have to be completely done at that time. she is always very clear with what she wants for the assignments as well. awesome teacher!

Mrs. Migan is a very tough grader but is very precise in her directions. She's a really nice lady and I would take her again in a heartbeat.

She loves to teach and is very socialable. Easy to talk to. a lot of books to read but we talk about them in class. sometimes have quizzes. but class is really easy... only two main big point quizzes and that is the midterm and final.. i have a 98.45% literally. TAKE HER.

She was very nice, but a super hard grader.You have to have at least a 95% to get an A.I've never had problems with getting A's on papers in any previous classes, but I had to work a lot harder in her class. She offers 5 points of extra credit per paper if you turn it in elsewhere - DO IT!I used This I Believe and Open Salon.Just be ready to work!

A very nice lady and very willing to help her students out. She is clear on her assignments and is good at reviewing what she wants you to know. She is a super critical and hard grader. I busted my butt in her class to come out passing with a C. She was good but her grading was a little excessive in my opinion for a general education requirment.

Such a nice lady! She is extremely helpful with papers, lets you revise papers to get better grade. Make sure you always use your book when writing papers because that is how you will get an A!

She's a very helpful professor and very intelligent in what she teaches. She grades her paper really tough, which requires you to edit/revise your paper many times upon submitting. Use her office hours for extra help as well as the Writing Center! At the end of the day, she pushed me to become a better writer.

My favorite professor ever. She loves what she teaches and is very helpful. She expects good work which shouldn't shock college students. A decent amount of reading and she grades tough on papers but just do to her office and she'll tell you what you can do to pass. Definitely most loved ENG prof at SVSU!

If you take the papers seriously, you will pass the class. She is nice and fun

GREAT teacher. If you do the readings and come to class you will get a good grade. A very social class. Work with others a lot in class. No group project. If you need help just ask and she will help you the best way she can. Really nice and knows what she is talking about!

Tamara is a really great professor. I have never been very good at English/reading but the way her class is structured really helped me. If you are confused about a story you won't be after it is discussed. Tamara is very clear on everything. Don't be lazy and you will do well. Very good quality course and Prof. Migan is great!

She is awesome! Throughout semester only 2 exams, and research paper. A reading will be assigned each week and have to do lit circle every other week or so. mainly a lot of reading, but she is very clear and easy grader.

Awesome teacher. Her requirements are always laid out right in front of you, and as long as you incorporate everything you will do great. She is a little harsh when it comes to MLAAPA, but if you do use it correctly, this class is generally easy and she's very easy going. She allows you to do the online assignments anytime before the semester ends

Mrs. Migan was the best professor I have had!! She is more like a best friends mom than a harsh professor. She is so kind and gentle and respects every one of her students. I always felt comfortable talking in her class and asking questions. I wish I could take her every semester but she only offers one class. :(

Professor Migan overall has a pretty clear set of assignments that are easy to follow. She expects you to participate in class lectures and give feedback. The class is not very interesting, but it is not a hard class to pass.

My favorite class at SVSU so far. You do have to read the short stories and poems but they are easy and not much is assigned other than that. I learned so much in this class and she is so smart and nice. If you have the chance, take her! If you go to class and pay attention the exams are easy. Try to participate because that's how you learn!

I took Mrs. Migan for ENGL 111 & ENGL 204. She is understanding and helpful. Her classes are very laid back with open discussions, however they are very easy while you still learning a lot. I wish I could take more classes with her.

Great professor! I had prof Migan for engl111 and loved it! She grades fairly easy and is always open to questions. She is very helpful and not judgmental. Class load for engl111 was fairly easy for in intro-level class. And she allows you to re-submit your papers. I was un-able to take her for engl111, but i'm taking her for engl203, i'm excited!

Professor Migan is by far the best English professor that I've every had. She is also the sweetest. As long as you show up, listen, and do your work you will pass. She is very clear about what she wants and does anything she can to help.

I really enjoyed this class. Over the semester we had 4 papers and one presentation. She is very flexible with setting up meetings to discuss you grades and help look over your papers. I would definitely take her class again!

Dr. Migan is a wonderful professor. In this course, she gave students many different assignment choices and it was a great way for myself and those around me to truly express our knowledge and thought processes. She is very caring and takes the time to read your assignments and given you valuable feedback. I highly recommend her.

Ms. Migan has been one of the best professors i have yet encountered at SVSU. Due to personal reasons i got behind in class and she was willing to help me so that could pass the class. She's really sweet and is always willing to help in office hours. Taking her again next semester.

She's been the best professor I've had at SVSU. She is very understanding and clearly just wants her students to succeed. She recognizes that her class is mainly taken for the gen-ed credit and doesn't expect work at the level of an English major. All you need to do is put in a good effort. There's very little homework and 1 paper.

One of my favorites! Readings every night, possibility of a reading quiz the next day, but only gave 2 over the longer texts . 2 exams, one 5 pg paper, and 4 litcircles. 95% for an A, but she's a very easy grader! Seriously, if you do the readings and show you're trying, you should get an A. She's very nice and understanding, I would recommend her!

I took history of women's literature. all exams are written with about ten multiple choice. she is very passionate and understanding with her job. read the material and you will do great. the only downside is she is slow responding to emails

Such a great professor! Exams are all written except for 10 multiple choice. As long as you read the material you should do fine. One 5-7 page essay, but she's a super easy grader so a decent amount of effort should get you a B or better. Super caring and also pretty funny.

Migan is the best. She is so kind and keeps it real. She wants everyone to feel included in class. There was a lot of reading but only one novel. The midterm and final were not bad if you study. Definitely recommend she's a great lady

She is one of the sweetest professors I have ever had. She really does care about her students and wants you to be well. There is a lot of reading, but if you do and to the lit circles this class is really easy.

She is an absolute gem. You do need to work hard for your grade, I recommend doing all of the readings and going to class because what you talk about will be on the exams. She is completely understanding of her students, and as long as you show effort she will reward you with whatever she can do to help. She goes above and beyond.

Definitely need to know how to apply what you read in the book to your assignments, but she grades pretty easy and give good feedback. Super sweet and when she saw people were struggling, she took the time to reach out to us. i took this class online and it was a breather compared to my other classes, but i still learned how to be a better writer.

I had her online and the class was so easy. Super easy paper grader and gives great feedback on each paper. Make sure you do the peer reviews on each project, they are worth a big chunk of your grade!

She is quite clear about what she looks for when grading. 4 major projects that are 100 pts each. With a few other small assignments. Focused on this class mostly on weekends and a few days here and there during the week. I'm not the greatest at writing papers but Migan's online class was one of the easier ENGL classes I have taken. Great for gened

Organized and you knew what was expected. Relatively easy grader in my opinion I did really well and found it easy. Had links to the stories we were reading so no textbook. Super nice and understanding. Would 100% take again. Took online.

Not a bad overall professor however way to many discussion posts, you have to post four times every single week about the reading. Exams you won't pass unless you have fully read the book. Long lectures and long books to read. Some of the books were interesting however I still just wanted a B and used spark notes. If you want an A you have to read.

Great professor and interesting content. I watched summaries on youtube and read information on sites like sparknotes and occasionally read extracts from the required reading. Wasn't a difficult class at all. Would highly recommend

I took Professor Migan this winter (2021). 75% of your grade was based on 4 papers that were about 7-8 pages each. She gives good feedback on the papers, and is willing to look them over before you turn them in. She also gives you the chance to fix the papers to receive a better grade on them. Very caring Professor!

Professor Migan will let you resubmit papers at the end of the semester just so you can earn and show improvement! She was very pleasant and will let you turn in late work even if it'll knock you down a grade. Overall very sweet and truly wants you to pass!

Migan is an amazing professor. She's a very fair grader, but definitely pay attention to your use of passive vs active voice. There was only one actual essay in her class. Exams were mainly free responses so actually do the readings you won't get a high grade without doing so.

This lecturer is a very understanding lecturer and doesn't make it too difficult to pass the class. She offers a lot of extra credit and provides useful feedback. Her lectures aren't the most engaging and there are a few papers to write.

its a literature class so there's a lot of reading but she's extremely kind and grades fairly. She gives extra credit on the exams and you can have notes on them. The only warning and slightly negative thing I can say about her is be aware of passive voice in your writing and try to not use it.

Mrs. Migan is a fantastic professor that is incredibly kind and caring to her students. When I was unable to take the midterm in the allotted timeframe she let me take it a couple days later for full credit. She responds to emails well and chooses great stories for you to read. I would take all of her classes if I could.

Professor Migan is the nicest professor I have had all semester. The workload isn't too heavy, and I can tell that she cares about her students. She is very accommodating and understanding. I would definitely take this class again.

We had a total of 4 papers throughout the semester and no exams. I have never enjoyed English class but I really liked this one. She gave a lot of room for creative freedom. Take if you don't like English. I gave half effort and I got good grades all semester. They took forever to grade things because of confirmed personal issues. She will keep you busy but grades generously. Don't bother reading the stories, just look up summaries. Don't buy the book "Aura," waste of money and is confusing.

Super caring person and wants students to succeed. 4 essays decide your grade, there are 2 5-page papers and 2 8-9-page papers. She is an easy grader, and always responds to emails very quickly, and provides help. She also allows revisions on 3 of the 4 papers and she tells you exactly what she wants changed.

Migan is a fair grader, but pay attention to passive voice. While it's a reading-heavy class, Migan is kind and the content is interesting. I found Unstuck study helpful for preparing for exams.

Her lecture videos are her just reading the powerpoint she creates. Every week there is a reading, a quiz, and some sort of assignment. Quizzes are easy and are mostly short answer. LD Browser with Webcam. Discussion posts/literature circles which are very easy. She is always behind on grading, but she does give feedback.

One of my favorite english classes i've ever taken, the readings and literature groups were very interesting. However, she does take a while to grade and every week there is a quiz based on the reading - lockdown browser w/ webcam. But i still recommend it for an english class.

Since this was an online class, we had discussion board basically every week, and we also had a final paper at the end of the semester. She is very nice and willing to help out outside of class, and is very good at responding to emails. We also had weekly quizzes about the stories we read, and there was usually a new story or two every week.

I took ENGL 205 online and this course was very managable. This was the Wicked and Weird Lit section. There is a lot of reading to go with the course, but every reading was interesting and engaging. There is quite a bit of work but nothing that wasn't managable. Professor Migan was so kind and always willing to help in anyway she can.

Oh my goodness, she is the kindest professor ever! The workload with the readings can be a lot, but it's totally manageable! She is SO willing to help her students, and I learned so much in this class.
