Dr. Nauman is a nice lady, knows what she's talking about, but will pace through the material quickly. If you ask her to go over something in class, she will explain it. Get the textbook to do the nongraded homework especially before the exams! Her lecture notes are also a necessity to have. The model kits are unnecessary.

Super hard material. Make sure to do really well on quizzes and reports because the midterm and final will bring your grade down. Very time consuming.

Reads straight from the paper but works through problems thoroughly and goes slower than most professors. Really great teacher in my opinion, really taught instead of assuming you know the material like some professors. Gives a pop quiz almost every day but they are super easy. If you come to class and pay attention class is fairly easy.

I loved her. Thought she was a great teacher for such a hard subject. If you actually care about the class and are willing to work hard it isn't bad. She is very helpful and approachable; great help if you go to her office hours. Gives practice tests and quizzes so if you just figure out how to work those problems you are good.

She teaches the subject matter very well and is always available via email or office hours. She is completely willing to help. However, she is a very strict grader. Barely any partial credit available. I went to every class and still did not do well. If you are looking for a good professor, she's helpful. But not with grading.

Dr. Nauman was a great professor. She covered everything in great detail and faster than all the other professors so that she had time to review for an entire week before the final. She knows exactly how to teach the course and knows the subject matter fully. She is blunt about what she expects and her opinions which I respect.

Dr. Nauman was very clear about what would be expected on exams. She gives you her old exams to practice which are very helpful. For a tough subject she taught it very clearly and made it easy to understand. Also, if she says practice then practice, it's essential to doing well in this class!

I loved Dr. Nauman. She's one of my favorite professors at LSU. She breaks down OChem as much as she can for the students. She is very encouraging if you seem troubled by a problem and offers lots of help. I only went to SI for Exam Reviews, but her SI is excellent and also very helpful. Love Nauman, Live OChem.

She's a really hard grader, but I think also really fair. Even the homework and quizzes she assigns will be tough. It is a very difficult class, but she does a pretty food job at delivering the material. Go to the SI and start studying early and you will be just fine.

Dr. Nauman is a wonderful professor. She is clear, concise, and knows the material very well. She is always willing to lend a hand in office hours if you need it, and she clearly spells out what is expected of you. Go to SI because she moves briskly, though her pace is manageable.

Dr. Nauman is a tough grader, but it's because she wants you to really KNOW the material. If you try to just memorize, you won't pass this class. She prepares you extremely well for Organic 2. I'm currently in Organic two, and the first exam is a review of what she taught. I highly recommend her, and I wish she taught Organic 2.

Dr. Nauman is the best! She knows the material very well and is great at teaching it. She grades tough and the test are tough but if you go to class and SI you'll know exactly how to pass them. The SI was great. The lectures were great. She actually teaches the material she doesn't just scroll through slides.

Dr. Nauman is one of the best professors I've ever had. Make sure you go to every single class, though. You have to put in a lot of effort into studying for this class, so don't try and just breeze through. I made it through without the textbook, and she also puts plenty of practice homework and practice tests on Moodle.

If you're expecting Organic Chemistry to be easy, you might not want to take it at all. I'm convinced Dr. Nauman makes it as easy as it could be. You pay for notes at the beginning of the class and they're all you need. She has hwk and quizzes, but just wants to see her students pass. She's more than willing to work with you so you can do well.

I got a C in Chem 1 and failed Chem 2 the first time. Dr. Nauman made organic seem very easy for me. She is a fairly tough grader but most tests have some questions which count as a bonus. I would definitely take this class again, I learned a lot about Organic chem and would feel very confident taking O-chem 2

Quick lectures but works out examples VERY thorough. practice exams, quizzes and homework are always available on moodle. exams are fairly similar to the ones posted too. hw and quizzes are easy points but BEWARE they are really tricky!! She's a sweet professor and very country, but I really love her! gives out bonus every now and then too

She teaches the material in a way that makes what is supposed to be one of those "impossible" classes understandable as long as you put in the work. That being said, there is a lot of work and she expects you to practice it all the time but truly that's the only way to learn the material. She's also rly sweet and funny and cares about her students.

She's a sweet person and a good teacher. She tries to help students, but organic is a tough subject and you have to study and practice as well. I strongly suggest going to SI sessions and doing problems from the book. Dr. Nauman Iis very approchable so don't be scared to ask for help (f you do need help make sure you go to her asap).

This class is definitely manageable. GO TO SI SESSIONS. You will have a tough time without it. Nauman cares and will help you, but you still need to be on top of the material to get a good grade.

Dr. Nauman was the most helpful teacher I think I have ever had. If you meet with her during office hours, she is willing to help. There is a lot of bonus available in the class as well.

Honestly I'm writing this before final grades are out but I think weather I passed or not she was a good professor. Show up to class, read, and practice. and you'll do good. Organic is hard so you'll have to dedicate 3x more time than you think.

Definitely take Dr. Nauman! The course is difficult but she teaches in a way that is easy to understand. She is very clear about what to expect on tests, so if you do all of the practice problems/tests you will have no problem. She also gave several bonus opportunities throughout the semester.

Loved this class. I was scared of organic going into it, but Dr. Nauman is a great prof. Definitely go to all the lectures and attend as many SI sessions as you can. This class takes commitment but it is doable. Also loved how Dr. Nauman made a spread sheet of class grades after ever test so you know exactly where you stand through the semester.

This class isnt hard, but it requires a ton of time to memorize everything. Work all the practice problems she has on Moodle and read the notes. Start to study a week in advance for exams and youll do great!

Dr. Nauman was an amazing teacher. Best professor in the chemistry department hands down. She explains things very well & is absolutely willing to answer any questions. The class is very lecture heavy & if you don't go then you won't pass, but she is a great lecturer and does lots of example problems during lecture. 10/10 would recommend.

Professor Nauman is a very good professor. She is passionate and wants her students to succeed. She will make extra time for individual help. Her tests are difficult, but she continuously updates moodle with practice. She makes her own exams so they are different each semester. Very accessible through email. By far my favorite Professor at LSU.

She really makes you work for the grade you want. Shes very understanding and is welcoming to answer questions. Im pretty sure if I wouldve kept up I wouldve aced this class. DO THE PROBLEMS IN THE BOOK SHE LIST FOR THE EXAMS. The practice exam is always a slightly easier version of the real test BEWARE. Overall shes a great professor.

organic chemistry is hard. Everyone is in consensus with this. If you rework problems time and again you will memorize it. If you memorize it you will get an A. Also a small piece of advice, don't waste your time with a model kit. instead get yourself a whiteboard for working out all the the problems :)

Organic is going to be hard no matter what teacher you take. This semester Nauman was my best bet at passing orgo so I took the chance. To my surprise she was a very good teacher despite the fact that her RMP was low. I enjoyed taking her class even though it changed to online. Which sucked because she made the tests 2x harder. But overall love her

OChem is known to be difficult, and I never imagined doing as well as I did in this class. She really cares about the success of her students and is a great professor. She made ochem so much easier to learn. Her grading scale is already curved. Going to class really helps. It's a lot of work but she makes it very manageable.

Organic is tough, but I truly believe she is good at explaining the material in a way thats not impossible to understand. I was doing well in her class until it switched to online. If you struggle in online classes, you might want to wait until you can take the class in person because she is not curving anything.

Professor Nauman is a great chemistry professor. She explains everything very well and is almost always available for office hours. She makes note pages and plenty of practice tests. However, you have to come to class to pass. Organic chemistry is a really hard class and it takes a lot of effort, no matter who the professor is.

Organic is organic. It's hard. But thank goodness for Nauman's plentiful practice tests and quizzes out of class, I feel like without them I would've never got the concepts. She is excellent at teaching. The downside is she can be a bit harsh on the under performing students, she often stressed how disappointed she was in the current averages.

Love this woman. Her notes are very helpful and her lectures help to explain them. I wont lie its a lot of work. We studied for at least 10 hours a week together to get the material down. She definitely makes it doable though because she posts lots of practice problems to help. I would highly recommend taking her if youre looking to LEARN ochem.

This class was HARD, but dr. Nauman is a good professor and person, she is incredibly tough and will not curve under any circumstances. Class average for exam 2 was a D-. Tam tam is the absolute best teacher ever. She loves all things nerdy/geeky especially Harry Potter and ochem jokes.Her and Marcus are the lsu chem power couple! But seriously she teaches so well and provides opportunities for easy points aside from exams. Definitely get a study group and practice every day! Take tam tam or be cyclobutane ;)

Ochem is known to be a difficult subject but she makes it bearable. She gives you notes to fill out in class which is the best & gives you a lot of examples. She is very organized & clear about everything, she gives you what you need to succeed, but you have to practice a lot regardless. She is always willing to help if you go to her office as well

Ochem is hard class no matter who you take. You must dedicate time to it. She has 4 exams, connect hw assignments, hw assignments that are paper that you turn in (20 points), and 6 quizzes every other is a take home quiz. So far it is not that bad if you dedicate time. She does go really fast but is a very good teacher and has a lot of resources.

If you need a structured class with clear outlines of what you need to know, then take Dr. Nauman. She is amazing teacher, and your grade will reflect how much effort you put into her class. This is O-chem, you NEED to be disciplined and learn the concepts behind the work that you do, not just memorize it. She is always available for advice too.

She might come off as scary at first, however she is extremely nice when you go to her during office hours. She wants you to learn and not just pass her class, so she will make you work hard. Your biggest motivation will be knowing that she will not curve anything, also attendance is not mandatory but if you don't go, you better get a private tutor

The class can be challenging. It's about how much effort and time you put in. Dr. Nauman is a great professor. I'm not sure why people say she's condescending because I've never gotten that from her, she just keeps it real. She gets through the material, gives you ample resources to study from & she doesn't surprise you with questions on the test.

I really loved having Dr. Nauman. She is a very personable and caring professor. While she is not the type to curve, she gives A LOT of resources and practice problems that make it very possible to do well on her exams. She can seem intimidating, but she is very kind in her office hours and encourages students to go because she truly cares.

CHEM 2261 is going to be a hard class no matter what, however, Dr. Nauman is probably the best. She has her own notes and she lots to practice for exams. She does go a little fast but she is understanding during her office hours if you are confused. Your grade will determine how much work you put in so If you put in the work, you'll get an A

Dr. Nauman is a great professor. I attended every lecture class and really tried to be attentive. Organic chemistry is hard, but if you put in the work, you can succeed. She gives SO much practice work, and she has great notes. The more you practice, the better you will get. Her tests were very fair. I would really recommend her!

Organic Chem is a tough class overall, but Dr. Nauman will make sure you know your stuff. We were always way ahead of other 2261 classes (diff professors), but we never had to cram lecture material before exams. She gives lots of practice material before quizzes and exams, which is nice, but they don't explain why each answer is correct.

Make sure u study every day, I began to slack half way through the semester and thus my grade really fell. Im retaking the class with her just because I really enjoyed her teaching style. You are graded based on 10 quizzes 3 take home hmws and three exams. Make sure you understand the topic before going to class or you will not do well

The class is hard but the professor is amazing. I had to drop ochem but I am still retaking it with her because she is just that good.

lectures were amazing, she is super nice at office hours or after class. if you put in the work, you will do well. read the textbook before class, pay attention and do EVERYTHING she posts... twice (this is the key)!!! go to SI sessions, make sacrifices and you will be fine. 6 quizzes, 3 are takehome. 3 takehome hw's. 1-3 online hw/week (easy)

Dr. Nauman is an amazing teacher. She can seem a little cold but she is just honest and to the point. YOU MUST STUDY. She does everything she can as a teacher but to do well in this class YOU need to put in the time. I went to every SI session and saw her at office hours and I ended with an A. This class is doable if you just try.

Dr. Naumann is a great chemistry professor! You definitely cannot skip classes and expect to do well. She gives so many study resources and makes it easy for you to succeed as long as you are willing to put in the work.

Made organic chemistry fun. Explained concepts very well which made things easy. The online homework was my only complaint but honestly it helped me in the long run. As for quizzes and written homework, very very easy especially if you go to SI and do the practice quizzes. Makes it impossible to fail if you go to SI and study the practice material

Nauman provides an abundance of practice for the midterm/final which will prepare you greatly. As long as you get good grades on data reports (depends on TA) and quizzes (on Achieve) and you do the material she posts, you should be able to get an A. She is available if you have questions and willing to explain. One of my fav professors. Fun lab!

She definitely tried to make the material seem easy as possible. However, ochem is really just a hard subject that requires so much practice and time so it does take time to fully understand. She does give a lot of practice to do before exams which is helpful! Go to office hours! She gives good explanations and that time helps so much.

Best professor at LSU, hands down. She will be intimidating at first, but if you go to office hours she's the nicest person ever. She gives you notes that you have to add to in order to fully grasp, so skipping class is a really bad idea. She's neither rude nor condescending. She's also unintentionally hilarious. I really enjoyed Prof Nauman for orgo 1. It was a hard class, but I definitely learned a lot about orgo. I understood everything, and my best grade was on the final. She tells you exactly what is on the written portion, the hardest part of the tests are the mc. Just study a lot and listen in class. Do the practice tests and make sure you know it.

The class is definitely difficult but organic chemistry is hard no matter the professor, but Dr. Nauman is the best one to have. Printed-out notes make it easy to make flashcards for exams. She has exam reviews on Moodle with practice questions and will answer questions after class. Get the textbook early and do all the practice problems you can!

THE BEST! She gives a lot of practice material, which is very important to how well you do in the class. You don't HAVE to go to class, but I found that when I didn't I felt very behind even if it was only for a day. Her notes are also very clear and helpful to making everything connect. I also went to her office hours a lot, she's hilarious.

The lab itself was great and very well organized. However, the midterm and final were 10 and 12 questions, and were worth 50% of your overall grade, so each question=2.3%. I got As on everything, but since I missed 5 questions TOTAL between the midterm and final, I finished with a B+. I finished ochem with an A+, and lab with a B+. So be careful.

Your grade is all based off of how much work you put in. She posts so much practice material that if you do everything multiple times you will be okay. I learned better teaching it to myself but i still would attend all lectures.

Make sure you do the connect assignments. They will give you a base understanding of material before lecture. The lectures make things clear and she is very helpful outside of class with any questions. The exams are hard so start studying early.

Ochem is objectively a hard course, but Dr. Nauman states clearly what is going to be on her tests and exams. Attendance is not mandatory, but I would go to ensure you understand the material. Home works can be done multiple times until you receive an A. Overall, clear cut grading scale and expectations.

She was a decent professor. I didn't learn much at all in lecture. SI helped me learn all the material. The class is hard but I enjoyed taking it more than gen chem. Overall not a bad experience. I would have taken her if she was teaching Chem 2262.

Great professor for ochem 1. It is definitely a weed out course so is hard regardless, but she makes it manageable with a ton of practice resources. Exams are not easy but not impossible. I was not a fan of her lecture style. HW is due before she teaches in class so I struggled keeping up. MUST read textbook, get a tutor, and study in advance

Best Ochem 1 professor. Find people who have taken her class in previous semesters and ask for their notes. Ochem is extremely challenging and requires a lot of practice, and there's not better people to ask than the ones who have already taken the class and have ample practice material to study off of for the quizzes and exams.

People who give Dr. Nauman bad reviews are people who aren't used to studying and thought this class could be winged like any other class. It can't. She provides an immense amount of material to study, and from personal experience, the only way you're going to pass ochem at all is through continuous practice. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

This professor has a very sound understanding of the topics that she teaches. She has great notes that allow students to follow along with the lectures and go back and review. There's a good amount of graded material, which allows for a person to bounce back.

Dr. Nauman is one of the best profs I have ever had. She's crazy smart while also being funny and accessible. I've taken her for classes and labs and learned a lot from her. The grading is very clear and there are lots of different assignments in case you aren't a good test taker or whatever. If you're struggling she will guide you.

Dr. Nauman wasn't the best, but she definitely made O chem easier than it should be. She provides many quizzes and examples in Moodle that are just for practice, and they help a lot. She is very strict about not curving, though. I would recommend her for O chem but she's retiring this month.

Ochem is a difficult subject but she makes it much easier to understand. Exams are a pretty large percent of your final grade (the 3 exams are 45% and the final is 25%) but she gives out plenty of study material to work with and if you have any questions, she's very accessible. Half of the quizzes are in class and the others are take home.
