This teacher rocked. She was very helpful and clear and was always willing to explain stuff further. Her classes were packed with interesting information and she often played film clips to help you understand better. She was nominated for an award cause she rocks.

The clearest teacher I've had and also the easiest to learn from because she gives great examples. In order to do well on tests you have to study a lot tho. But she drops the lowest test grade out of 4. She creates a very relaxing environment.

Tammy is AWESOME!!! I never skipped this class. She was able to make people want to participate in a 300 person lecture, that's how good she is. Tells cute stories about her twins. Very clear about material. Encourages questions. Lots of extra credit and ways to get a good grade. Definitely A+!

class was fun, she gives 6 pop quizs very easy, these are done randomly throughout the year, its to make sure u read (any thing close to a correct answer is good enough) and it also keeps u coming to class, if u go to class and legit study an A should be easily atainable, i got a B and didnt study, shes a fun teacher and it is a fun class

One of the best teachers I have ever encountered in my life. Made everything she talked about seem exciting, and told lots of funny stories. On a side note, the class is pretty easy (and if you do well in the first 3/4 of the class, you dont have to do the rest of it, because of dropping grades), and she's hot.

Tammy is an amazing prof. She is sweet as can be and is happy to answer individual questions. Lectures are well paced, easy to follow, and supplemented with little experiments and video clips. You'll want to go to lecture. read the text, cause tests are not that easy. OWLs very easy. If you take PYSYCH 100, take it with Tammy!!

Loved this class! The class moves at a good pace and Tammy includes stories about her twins (cutest kids!) as well as videos and interactive things to better understand the material. OWLs and SWAs help boost your grade and the exams aren't too hard.

Pretty easy class. 6 exams (top 5 scores) go to the review before the test, the study guide has everything you need to know. Random in class writings for attendance and to see if you did your reading (only need to do HOCK book readings, not fieldman)short easy online quizes. very enthusiastic prof, take this class.

AWESOME teacher. makes the material interesting, gives lots of opportunities to get a good grade. there is a lot of homework (readings, quizzes) but its not excessive if you do the work when its meant to be due. attendance is not required but if you miss a day of notes, you will be missing a lot of information for the exam.

She is a very good professor. I'd say do the readings and go to class, take notes using the outlines, and study and it's an easy A if you do. Do the SONA extra credit because it can be worth 6% of your entire grade.

Prof Rahhal makes psych 100 a very easy class.Her policy on dropping a test is very generous and she has a gift in making her lectures interesting. Attendance is not mandatory if you keep up with the book and a little bit of memorizing before the tests will no doubt result in an A. The people who dont get A's are dumb/dont pay attention/dont study

Easiest class I've ever taken. If you go to class, do the reading at least sometimes, and study for the test, its a cake walk. There is even a ridiculous amount of extra credit on top of how easy it is. And she drops quizzes and tests, so with a month left in school, I had a A and didn't have to attend anymore. Psych 100 with Rahhal is sick. She's an awesome teacher, is clear, and possesses a good sense of humor and some funny stories from her college days. Her exams are easy, as is the HW and such. The extra credit is helpful. Drops an exam and has spontaneous in-class writing assignments to make sure you read when she assigns special readings. Take it.

Tammy's mad cool. The class is based on points and she drops the lowest test grade. There are online quizzes duw every week and spontaneous writing assignments which kinda makes it mandatory to go to class. The classes are interesting. She uses relevant examples, videos, and class participation to help explain what she's teaching.

This teacher was the most entertaining here my freshman year at UMASS. She drops two online quizzes and the lowest exam grade + extra credit. One book is just needed for a code, don't bring cell-phones to class or you will get ripped apart, but overall incredibly entertaining I haven't missed one class yet!

Tammy's class was a breeze for me. If you do the readings and take notes and study for tests you should do well. No writing needed, but multiples choice tests. Random mini-quizzes in class make it a good idea to go to them. Dropping lowest grades is allowed. Good glass and prof. overall.

Tammy is a wonderful professor. Make sure you study the textbook readings AND your notes before tests. She loves drawing from things not covered in class. Other than that, psych 100 is a very straightforward class. Do the readings (they're easy and almost always interesting), go to class, study a bit. You'll get an A.

EASY A! Attendance isn't necessary, but she does give writing assignments in class that are based on the readings. She gives four exams and drops your lowest score. Readings are interesting, and they're usually followed by an online quiz. Get at least six/ten right and you get a 100% on them! Great teacher. Very interesting. Loved the class!

Tammy is nice, relatable, funny, and intelligent. The class is big, but she makes it worth it. Don't take Psych 100 with anyone else.

Super nice teacher, quizzes and periodic in class writings. Both are really easy. The online quizzes sometimes give you incomplete questions/no context. Get a 6/10 and it's a 100%. Be prepared for hordes of swesty freshman, you will get sick. TA's are positively useless, uncooperative and unfriendly. Great teacher, easy class, terrible students.

Reasonable and easy professor. She had in class "pop quizzes" based off one of the books, but there's a calendar for when the quizzes are. Tests were a little harder than expected, but overall fair. She makes the lectures interesting and online quizzes are to boost grades. I didn't read the book not required for the pop quizzes and did very well.

She's cool . No lie . But damn , her exams are harder than calculus III and its just a beginner psych class which seems easy during class and study . I still havent understood the logic with her exams or grading . I hope she sees this .

Really decent overall teacher. She's good at engaging the class with all of her personal anecdotes, psych exercises, and videos, making this class very enjoyable. Attendance is mandatory with the SWAs, which aren't too bad. The exams are harder than you'd expect, so definitely take time to study. Take advantage of psych studies for extra credit.

Amazing teacher!! Keeps every single class interesting enough. Has extremely clear and organized notes. Also has a lenient grading policy which she drops the lowest grades and gives you credit for just putting your name on her in class assignments.

Tests are actually somewhat hard, but as long as you READ the book thoroughly and DO the study guide you will do fine. You can also get 20 pts extra credit from psych studies. Over all awesome Prof.

I love Professor Rahhal! Her lectures are never boring, she knows how to keep it interesting and even though there are 470 kids in the class she knows how to get students to engage with each other. She drops 2 online quizzes, 1 exam, and 1 writing assignment. There is no final exam, because the 4 tests (3 counted) are non-cumulative!

Tamara makes it hard to fail the class. Everything is rounded up and it is easy to do well on her tests as long as you study. Going to class is recommended but if you miss one the book will tell you everything you need to know. Definitely recommend her as a professor.

Easily my favorite professor! Her lectures are so interesting and she makes them fun for a 9am class. I would love to take this class again. She is very enthusiastic about what she teaches. Easily the best grading system I've ever had too. The final is basically optional and she drops 1 exam. Gives plenty of extra credit. Definitely take her class!

I enjoyed every minute I spent in this class. She encourages class participation but creates an atmosphere where you feel comfortable doing so. Grade is based on 4 exams, but one grade is dropped, and homework that is very manageable. Fantastic class with a fantastic professor.

This is hands down the best professor I have ever had at UMass Amherst. I do not think there will be a better professor. If you need this gen-ed, take it. If you need to fill your schedule up, take it. This was such an amazing class with several opportunities to do well. I got an A with a breeze with no Psychology background knowledge.

Study. Read everything assigned to you and you will pass with an A. There are pop quizzes which encourages attendance as well as many extra credit opportunities through SONA which can boost your final grade by 4%. She's very energetic, nice, and somewhat attractive once you get to know her. Her lectures are amazing for an 8 AM. Study 4 tests

One of the best professors I've had. Really interesting and really into her subject. You'll want to participate and ask questions. The class is pretty easy, especially because of all the ways to earn extra credit. Just don't forget to do the homework. Its a good idea to show up for class, but you'll probably want to anyways.

Professor Rahhal always made me want to go to class. Every lecture was interesting and fun. She sometimes has class experiments, shows video clips, and always gives helpful examples. There are 6 reading quizzes in class and quizzes online. Sometimes may seem like a lot of work, but its never hard. I would take this again.

Tammy is awesome and it is very easy to get an A in her class! 4 exams, she drops lowest one. 7 in class pop quizzes, she drops the lowest one. And 10 online quizzes. With the extra credit, it is almost impossible not to get an A in this class. Plus she's funny and her lectures are super interesting!

Tammy is one of the best teachers I've ever had and I'm not even that interested in psychology. She splits the class into 4 parts (NO FINAL!!!) and she drops your lowest test and lowest writing assignment but make sure you at least skim the readings. The online homeworks are super easy and straightforward. Would 100% take this class again!!

Tammy is my favorite professor at UMass (and I'm now a senior). Her classes are always enjoyable and you will enjoy going to class.

Tammy is a great professor! She makes lectures very interesting with her stories and videos. Sometimes the exams can be a little tricky, but as long as you go to class and do the homework you'll be fine

Tammy is the best professor ever. She is super enthusiastic about teaching and engages everyone because she is a really funny lady and super radiant and awesome. This class is fun because of her, and I know that because I visited my roommates psych lecture with a different professor and I wanted to cry because I missed Tammy so much.

One of the most interesting classes I've taken. There are a lot of notes to take but she gives outlines to fill in, so go to class, the exams (4 total, lowest score dropped) are pulled directly from the notes. There are "pop quizzes" which are one question about the reading from the night before, the chapters are very easy reads. Fun class.

Amazing teacher!!! Her lectures are very interesting and engaging. She's really funny and just down to earth. There's a lot of note-taking in class, but there are outlines that she puts up that makes it easy. Read the readings she assigns!!! Because she does do pop quizzes on them sometimes. Just keep up with her assignments and you'll be fine.

It is okay. That's about it. I honestly wasn't as enamored with Rahhal as everyone else seems to be, so I'm probably the outlier. Her lectures are engaging, but I didn't love how we were graded. I don't love the point system. Exams were honestly a little more difficult than a 100 course has the right to be. Not a bad course, but nothing must take

I loved coming to this class because it felt like stand up comedy especially compared to other lectures. You have to do the Hock readings for the "pop quizzes" (very easy) but I never read the other textbook, completely forgot to study for one exam, and easily got an A in the class and completely skipped the last unit of the course. Drops grades.

Favorite teacher I've had at Umass. It is very clear what is expected of you. Light work load, but you will take a lot out of this class. Interesting concepts combined with an engaging and humorous teacher. Exams are easy, just do the review packets (which are basically identical to your notes) and you're all set. Drops grades, extra credit, easy.

I took this class as a gen ed and loved it so much I'm considering minoring in psych. Tammy is such a good professor, she gives 4 exams and no final which are easy to pass as long as you do the textbook reading and show up to class. If you want to take psych100 do so with Tammy it's seriously the best class.

I LOVE TAMMY AND I LOVED THIS CLASS. Spontaneous writing assignments in class that you have to read for, short weekly quizzes for homework, offers TONS of extra credit, makes the class very interesting! Fairly easy exams, minimal effort required... she doesn't post her slides online so you have to go to class (but you'll want to go!).

Tammy is on fire. Her class is awesome. Minimal effort for maximum grades. If you get atleast 60% on the quizzes, you get 100. Easiest gen ed at UMass. Great GPA booster. Not to mention she's frickin fine as heck. Hotmama status OVER 9000

If you're looking for a pass/fail class, take this. I'm sure it's an easy A if you're taking it for a grade too. But Professor Rahhal is very nice and interacts with her students in a fun way. Lectures weren't boring and there are 6 pop quizzes throughout the year so you kinda have to go just incase it's a quiz day.

Tamara's Psych 100 is an easy class if you're willing to do the required work. Attendance is somewhat mandatory because of her "pop quizzes" on the reading assignments and she has weekly online quizzes as well. However, tests are super easy if you study the notes.

Lecture is worth waking up for. The material is easy to understand and Professor Rahhal makes it interesting. She is funny and gives examples that are easy to remember and relate to. She can be a bit sassy so don't piss her off in class.

Tammy is a fun professor who loves the subject she teaches. There are 4 tests (no cumulative final) and she drops the lowest test grade. A LOT of extra credit offered - easy A.

One of the best classes I've ever taken at UMass. Tammy loves teaching and gives fantastic lectures. She tells stories and sometimes rewards you with candy for participation. The exams aren't hard - read the textbook the night before and you will do fine. She only counts 3 out of the 4 exams, so do well and you can skip the final.

Amazing professor do the small books readings textbook not necessary but helpful, she gives mini quizzes on readings and if you come to class after an exam expect extra credit, she drops one exam super helpful. Tas helpful as well, would take again

She makes this class so entertaining. Tammy is a funny lady and her class is easy. Tests posed more of a challenge than you's think but she drops the lowest one. Just a fun class to go to and interesting things to learn about. Probably the best gen ed class I've taken in my 3 years here.

This professor brings the field of psychology to life. There is a lot of reading and you certainly won't pass if you skip lecture, but she makes it worth it. You'll be excited to go to her lectures, even if you didn't have a prior interest in psychology.

There's a reason she is being nominated for some teaching award this year. She is a super nice lady, not only helpful, but extremely funny. She keeps lectures very entertaining by connecting her own hilarious life stories to the content. She teaches the content pretty well overall. I highly recommend Tammy.

Tammy is clearly enthusiastic, and often goes on tangents and supplements the theory with examples from her daily life, which is useful. She will give 'SWAs' which are basically 5 sporadic (but easy) questions about specific case studies to see whether you've read them, but these aren't bad at all. Alwys stays behind after her interactive lectures.

Professor Rahhal is super nice and funny. Theres some very light weekly reading and online quizzes and occasional in-class pop-quizzes. Easy tests and she lets your drop your lowest test. No final and easy A.

If you show up to class, do the online assignments, and read the required texts, this class is an easy A. Professor Rahhal also offers extra credit which can help boost your grade. Tammy drops the lowest exam grade, two of the online assignments, and one of the in class pop quizzes.

Profesor Rahhal is really great. Her lecture slides are very easy to follow and she does a good job explaining things. There is homework and some pop quizzes but she gives a ton of extra credit and drops your lowest exam score. She is highly recommended.

Highly recommend this class. Tammy is hilarious and makes the material really interesting, and she is so good at engaging her students in the big lecture. The tests are pretty straight-forward and the homework is very manageable. A great class to take as a gen-ed or if you're interested at all in psych. Because of this class, I am minoring in it!

She is the best professor that I have ever had. The course was interesting the whole way through because she is such an amazing lecturer and makes learning the material way more fun.

Professor Rahhal is amazing. She is intelligent and funny and I always looked forward to her classes. She is very accessible and easy to talk to. If I had not gone in as a psych major, I would have switched to be a psych major, or at the very least double majored in psych and something else. If you can take this class, do it. You won't regret it.

Tammy made it fun and interesting. Her class has a simple structure. Do the Readings they take like 30 minutes. Go to exam review copy down and finish as much as you can. Memorize as much as you can 1-2 days before. Exams are simple, sometimes confusing but easy! Worth going to lectures as they're interesting quick and have good info for exams.

Tammy is hilarious, her lectures are very entertaining and she really engages the class. You can tell she is very experienced. The class is generally easy if you do the readings.

Lovely teacher and an easy A. Tests require a bit of studying, but are incredibly easy once you put in the time. Basically impossible to fail unless you're really, really lazy.

Professor Rahhal made walking across campus for our 9am class worth it. She is hilarious and sprinkles her lectures with jokes. She makes class fun with demonstrations, videos, and volunteers. Only downside is there are random in-class writing assignments which are easy, but it means you have to be there to get credit.

Definitely one of my FAVORITE PROFESSORS EVER!! She made every class interesting and fun! Fairly easy and almost impossible to fail because she drops the worst exam grade, 2 of the worst quiz grades, and gives tons of opportunities for extra credit!! You won't regret taking this class!! My fave teacher this semester! I took psych as an elective and loved it! She is easy to listen to and tells funny stories about her kids. Your lowest test gets dropped, and there are lots of opportunities to make up points. You can't skip more than a couple classes because she doesn't post the notes, but its not like it's she's a painful lecturer.

My favorite professor all semester, probably one of the best at umass. Her lectures are so interesting you dont even realize shes teaching you something. Very involved with her students during lectures. Overall a really great professor.

She's clearly taught this class for a while now; she knows what she's doing and she knows more or less what students are going to do. Her grading criteria is very clear. She does several "pop quizzes" throughout the semester, but they're really simple and you get credit for being there even if you don't know the answer.

One of the best professors I've had so far at UMass. Makes every lecture interesting and you can tell she really loves her job. Always is engaged and gives great examples of each topic so you really relate to what she is teaching and can understand it. As long as you study, you'll do fine. Would take another class with her in a heartbeat!

Professor Rahhal was by far the best professor I have had so far at UMass. She is extremely caring and is able to make her lectures appealing to everyone. I don't think I have ever learned as much information from another class/lecture. Don't need to go to class to pass, but if you do it will be MUCH easier. Also, go to review sessions.

Took course in Spring 2019. Awesome professor, easy course if you show up, interesting at the beginning but it starts to drag on later. Tests are mostly memorization from the lectures.

Professor Rahhal is one of my favorite professors so far! I found all of her lectures very interesting, the classwork very manageable, and the tests were straightforward. She was very humorous and I loved hearing her personal stories that she told in class. Due to COVID, all of her lectures were prerecorded so there was no attendance for anything.

I had Tammy for psych 100 and she made the class really interesting, lectures are recorded so attendance wasnt mandatory, exams were online, 5 short writing assignments and about 10 HW quizzes that take 5 minutes each. not a lot of work at all. she is super nice, and a hilarious professor. take this class!

Prof. Rahhal was one of the most kindest professors ever! I'm only a freshman but I am so glad I took her class in my first year. Not only did she make it interesting by adding her own anecdotes, she drops certain grades. Her tests are straightfoward but content-heavy. The review sheets and TAs are not helpful but it is not hard to study alone.

Great professor, the class was very fair. I wouldn't call it an easy A but it's very attainable as long as you study for the tests. Exams were online, there were 4 and you got to drop your lowest. Short writings and Connect Quizzes were easy. Would recommend!

Tammy is a sweetheart and relates a lot of class material to her own family and life, which makes for fun and amusing lectures. After the first week of class, I attended every lecture from zoom because it was pretty much the same experience. Exams are all taken from home, and only three out of four are graded. Easy to do well. Great professor.

Tammy's so sweet: you can tell she really cares about her students and psychology. Lowest exam grade gets dropped, & there are a lot of opportunities for extra credit. Lectures are recorded & you can even go via zoom. You have to read the textbook as she doesn't cover all of it in class, but everything she covers in lecture is in the book

She was very clear from the start of the semester about everything that needed to be completed, and the syllabus had a schedule for the homework and readings that was followed. The lectures are very entertaining and interesting and she encourages student participation/has experiments occasionally. Overall awesome prof!

She's nice and the lectures are interesting, she also tries to be relatable to current events. Exams are in person and require pure memorization which can be annoying. There are online quizzes and short writing assignments that can only help your grade, so overall pretty easy class. If you have a bad memory take a class that allows a cheat sheet.

Professor Rahhal is an amazing lecturer and knows how to engage the students in the class. Specifically, she provides so many great examples for each of the concepts taught, including parallels she draws from her own life and in-class demonstrations. Please take a class with her, if you get the chance.

Tammy was my favorite professor so far! She makes an effort to make class very entertaining and seems down to earth. On top of that, the class is extremely easy. Barely any homework, and the exams are very easy to prepare for. Def take her class!!

She is a super fair professor and even gives extra points on exams if she feels like her average was too low. I took this as a gen ed but rly enjoyed the class. Readings took me a long time but the class was fairly manageable. Because of exact credit I finished with a 103%.

Lowest test score gets dropped so if you do well on the first three exams (which you're also allowed a cheat sheet for) you don't have to take the final. I love Tammy, she's so engaging and her lectures were always fun. Lots of extra credit (up to 16 points for going to class), cheat sheets on exams, and one exam gets dropped. You can also go to class online. Take notes and do the readings and you can do really well!
