Spends an entire class talking about one thing, has weird questions on homework.
She is very weird. She rambles on about her personal life when nobody cares about it. She also tries to make jokes, but she is not funny at all.
One of the most boring classes I have ever had. She is a horrible teacher.
She might be wierd, but at least she is not as hard as all the other science teachers. Take this class if you want an easy A.
VERY BATTY! She loves physics and teaches accordingly. Lectures are boring but so is physics. Easy class with easy tests.
Tamara's a nice teacher. While the class is boring, she's not on a mission to fail you.
I did not like having her as a teacher. She is boring and her voice seriously grates on you nerves. I never went to class, all i did was te homework and studied a bit for the tests and I made an A. But only take this class out of necessity.
She's a good teacher. Yes she is boring, but she will help you, she doesn't want you to fail. Her tests are easy. Basically don't go to class, wait till the day or two before the test, and print off the study guids she types up FOR YOU! Take for easy A!
She isn't a bad teacher. She is definately pretty boring, but if you go to class, and somewhat pay attention, you are good to go.
Boring, but so is physics. Sit through class, or just study the study guides... either way... easy to pass.
Zzzzzzz
SO BORING!!!!! Her voice is very annoying and she does nothing to make Physics sound at all interesting. She almost seems like she is bored with her job. She does make sure people have plenty of opportunity to make good grades. She gives re-tests and drops lowest test score.
horrible, horrible class. even more horrible teacher. doesnt seem to want to be doing what she is doing. is a huge **** to the class at times when she is mad about the lack of attendance. take her class, but she's a dumb ****.
****.
You people are idiots!!!! It's an easy A, who gives a **** if she is boring. You don't even need to go to the class anyway. Give the lady a break, at least she is not hard.
She talks too much! I get so sick of hearing her babble about nothing. We waste so much class time talking to students and walking around doing nothing. AHHHH!!!
Lecture is interesting sometimes, but is not necessary to ace the class. Going to the review sessions will suffice. Tests are cake, but the online homeworks take some reading and searching.
Do your homework, get an A.
This class is SUPER BORING! okay, yeah, it may be easy, but it is pure torture going to class (which actually counts as part of your grade, unfortunately.) Really just can't wait to be done!
The class is not hard, but attendance is required, and that is the hardest thing about the class. Unless you like to watch paint dry.
She is a bad teacher. She doesn't know how to relate to students. She thinks she's funny..but she's NOT. You have to go to class b/c she's started this paper pass out thing W/ these dorky stamps on them. The stamps are different each class. Study for the 2nd test-it's not as easy as the first. Go ahead and make fun of what she wears. It's bad!
super boring, have to go to class, and 2nd test is hard... should be easy but she sometimes makes things difficult
She could put a meth head to sleep...
Easy but boring. Take this class with a friend and get an easy grade. Or die.
Honestly, she's a dork. She wears terrible clothes, very boring. 2nd test is very hard. she gives way too many notes. you're writing the WHOLE class. her voice cracks almost every day and it's really funny...i was more interested in the class before i took it. its an easy class, just prepare to be bored.
awful teacher. if you aske her to explain it differently, she'll say she's teaching it right, you're just not learning it right. doesn't relate to students at all and is miserably boring, unclear, and unhelpful. anything you don't understand she says is your fault, b/c she thinks she's great. be prepared to be insulted for asking for help.
Unclear. Boring. Obsessed with her kids and boy scouts. Boring. Boring
pretty boring, but if you dont want to go to class, study the study guides she posts online for all the tests and you have at least a B. Do the online homework every week, you have to search for the answers but it will help your grade if you do well.
Not very personable. Never tells you answers to questions and is not helpful. It is so boring. Take this and Die!!!
OK I honestly do not agree with any of these comments. Snyder is a great teacher! She very weird and quirky, which can make her seem boring, but she gives you ALL of the test and quiz questions in the lectures! if you go to class and copy her notes, or just buy the notes from someone else, you'll be fine! Yoiu really don't need the book. You may mi
Attendance is not mandatory, but a lot of the questions from the weekly online quiz is from class lecture. She offers a few bonus points throughout the semester. Study the notes she puts online and the old tests, and you should get an A. I didn't buy a book, and I have an A+ in the class.
boring. easiest class ever, although you have to make sure not to make stupid mistakes with definition stuff. hardly any book usage, and you can correct your tests for some points back
Actually, I thought she was a solid teacher. It's not mandatory to go to class every time. I thought it was very helpful of her to post notes/past tests on blackboard. Some topics are more interesting than others, but altogether I feel like I learned some useful info. It's not a hard class. I enjoyed it.
So awesome and very friendly
really easy class however don't make plans to EVER get out early, the teacher will hold you till the class is scheduled to end almost every time
Class is very optional. She gives several attendance quizes at the beginning of the semester for extra credit. Powerpoints are online and the old tests are very similar to the current ones. Very easy course.
This is literally the worst class I have taken since attending college. Every time I go there I consider lobotomizing myself just to endure how pointless and boring the class is. At the beginning of the semester she says you may get out early sometimes. Believe me when I say this is a lie. If this isn't mandatory DO NOT TAKE HER. If it is I'm sorry
This class is super easy and I would definitely recommed it to anyone that is looking for an easy science class to take.
She knows her students are not science majors, works with students. Lot's of bonus if you go to class and do homework. Tests are easy as long as you understand homeworks. Class is not necessary to pass, for A..... possibly. Don't buy textbook.
Show up to class and review the chapter outlines provided before the exams and you will be fine. I never even opened my book!
Pretty easy class. If you want extra credit, go to class. If you don't care, then only show up for the test review. Tests are fairly easy if you memorize the study guide, but sometimes there is stuff that no one has ever heard of. Homework every week but you get to do it twice to correct your answers. 3 tests. Easy science class to take
Homework every week worth 8 points. The only hard test is test number 2. Three tests total. Attendance is not necessary but I got 10 extra bonus points just for going to class. How do you hate this class.....?
Overall a good course and professor. The online section received a lot of homework. Sometimes the videos she wanted us to watch were too long. She gives a lot of info that you won't even need for the exam. I felt like I was almost majoring in PHYS and it was only a introductory course! You can definitely get by without the book! Don't buy it!
Easiest science class on campus by far. The tests are fairly hard but as long as you do the homework, you should get an easy A. She gives lots and lots of chances to recover from bad grades. Powerpoint are posted on Blackboard and all quizzes are online and half of the test is take-home. Very easy class.
She is so helpful! The class is completely hands on with little to no lecture. There is homework almost everyday but it can easily be finished that night. Study guides are given to help you review over your work and if you know the study guide you will do good on the test. She is also always available to help.
This is the first professor I have had so far that will go out of their way to help me. She is always there for you, and makes class entertaining. The homework is do-able, the tests are a bit difficult but just like any other class you need to study. She gives you opportunities to do good, and if you get a bad grade then honestly that is your fault
I am not much of a science person, so this class wasn't my favorite, but Snyder cares a whole lot about her students and is always there to help. Didn't buy a book, but it would help if you got one. No final, 3 tests, and she gives an online redo test thats worth 1/3 of the test grade. Go to class, do the few homework assignments. I recommend.
If you are good at self-teaching this is the class for you. It is all based off your reading and the material Snyder posts. You cannot pass without doing the weekly reading.
Dr. Snyder wants you to get an A. She's very easy to meet with and wants to help you. Only problem is, she teaches her lectures conceptually with no math while the tests are about 50% concepts and 50% math. If you do the homework, reading quizzes, and work out the practice tests you should easily get an A in the class.
Dr. Snyder is an entertaining and very helpful professor. She goes out of her way to make sure you have the help you need. Tests were very fair and she always gave out practice problems similar to ones on the test. Really well organized Blackboard page too.
Online version is so so so much harder than the in class lecture. DO NOT TAKE IT ONLINE. Otherwise it would've been a much easier class
Tamara is super nice, but the class was kind of annoying. The assignments each week are easy and you can find all the answers online, but the tests were kind of difficult. It seemed like what she told you to study was the opposite of what she actually put on the test. Nevertheless, I got 1 A and 2 Bs on her tests and got an A in the class.
I had Professor Snyder for College Physics 1 and was incredibly thankful to have her as my professor. She teaches conceptually first so that you understand what the equations actually mean. She also takes the time to identify when the things you are learning will actually be practical. Lots of room to do well outside of just tests, which are easy.
I had her for Physics for Elementary Ed. Even though the material was easy to get through, she seemed to make it a lot harder than it needed to be. She also belittled a lot of my classmates and made them feel like they didnt know what they were talking about. If you can get past her teaching style and her passive aggressiveness, youll do fine!
I am not good at science, so this class wasn't an easy A for me like it is for a lot of people, but professor Synder truly cares about her students and her course. She is a good professor, just attend the lectures because things can get confusing. I would recommend her
Prof Snyder is super nice and caring. She does a good job of making the lectures entertaining. Gives some extra credit throughout the course. Course is definitely one of if not the easiest science classes available at UARK.
Do not take Tamara if you are looking for an easy A. She actually cares about this stuff so her tests are harder than they should be. This is her first time teaching this class in three years and she is revamping it so it's probably going to be harder.
I knew basic physics from hs and this class was 4x as easy as those classes, but if I didnt have prior knowledge of the material, Id be lost. She explains the info decently but goes off on many tangents so its hard to follow. One thing that bothered me was how long it took her to grade. We had only scantron tests and it took a week for grades.
Dr. Snyder made physics super fun and interesting! The class was pretty easy, especially if you go to class. As long as you do the homework and go to class, it'll be an easy A. Highly recommend Dr. Snyder.
Tons of material/reading each week. You really are teaching yourself everything. I made a C in the lecture and maybe cracked open the textbook once. I made an A in the lab portion of the class and found it to be easier/more of what I was expecting for an entry level science class. Dr Snyder is very nice and responds to emails quickly/in-depth.
Only take it if you're willing to work for your grade. This is not an easy A class, but it can be if you come to class and try. She gives extra credit, attendance isn't mandatory but you should still go. I hardly used the book and got a B. She is lovely and caring too! The tests aren't bad but require good studying. Lectures are also interesting!
Professor Snyder is awesome. I was honestly scared of taking physics but she does a great job explaining things in a way that makes them understandable. She is very helpful if you dont get something. Highly recommend taking this course if you need a science course. Also, the labs are really easy to follow and is an easy A if you do them.
If you are a non-science major needing a science credit, TAKE THIS CLASS! The class is way too easy with the "standards-based grading", where you need to do assignments weekly and master the material to get credit for each standard. (very difficult to explain). No tests, but just these little assignments which make the class way too easy.
We basically had a pass fail type grading, you get one question quiz and either pass or fail, and then homework assignments to go along with them. No tests, homework is also one question, you have to "master" 18 units to get An A. Pretty easy class overall, she gives lots of extra homework assignments to help you to try to pass the standards/units
Professor Snyders lectures get boring and repetitive, but her grading is what makes this class very easy. She gives you multiple chances to master things through homework, quizzes, and more. She is also willing to help you if you go to her. I would take a class with her again, just be prepared to sit through lectures.
Tamara is AMAZING. I came into this class thinking it was going to be extremely difficult but Tamara is awesome at making hard topics easy to understand. She brings cool props to class to demonstrate how physics things work. She is super engaging and not boring. In my opinion, it is an easy A. This was the only class I looked forward to going to.
Synder is awesome. She is very kind and knows a lot about physics. This class is not hard at all!! She started doing a standards-based grading system which means there is no BIG test!! TAKE THIS FOR AN EASY SCIENCE.
Professor Snyder definitely has expertise in her profession and gives many opportunities for students to receive an A, let alone pass. With her new grading system of mastering topics, as long as you go to class for in person quizzes and have a general understanding of the content, you will pass with relative ease.
I took this class after seeing so many positive reviews. I had a completely different experience taking this class online versus the glowing in-person reviews. We had three tests. 394 total points for the class and 300 of them are tests. Do NOT recommend.
This girl is horrible. She is rude to students and makes you feel like an idiot. She will knock your grade two letter grades if you miss a class without emailing her a valid excuse. She drags the class out and wastes your time. Take astronomy and save yourself some time and dignity.
There were many pros and cons to this class. Professor Snyder is extremely passionate about what she does and she's willing to work with you to pass her class. The class consisted of working out of a workbook in groups and discussing answers with the class. Participation and coming to class is extremely important to get a good grade.
I've always hated any science related subject and was incredibly bad at science, however, I not only enjoyed this course but did better than I ever thought I would. The class is pretty test heavy, however, Professor Snyder provides study guides that are extremely helpful. She also provides extra credit each week.
Do not take this professor if you enjoy astronomy or want an easy credit. She goes on tangents and gets off topic and is incredibly hard to learn from. Going to class is extremely boring. I learned more in the lab than I did from her teaching.
I usually do really well in class and this was the first class I got a bad grade. In class, she would go on tangents for the majority of the time, then cover the slides for the last few minutes. The homework and in-class assignments did not cover the material we went over in class.
I would absolutely not recommend Snyder for astronomy. She's constantly going off on tangents and talking about her own thing aside from the actual material. Her study guides are also little to no help. I enjoy astronomy, but she makes it boring and unengaging. If you're taking this class because you think it'll be interesting, look elsewhere.
Attendance is 10% of grade. Sometimes talking about astronomy, sometimes talking about her broken foot or lost cat. Class will last entire time bc of this when it could take 40 min MAX. Not the easy science credit I was hoping for.
One of the hardest classes on my schedule for no reason at all.
Essentially, this is a self-taught course with mandatory attendance. She constantly gets lost in her own stream of consciousness and never covers the material on the tests or homework. Her class is not an environment in which students feel like they can ask questions, and she often makes rude comments and petty comments.
Professor Snyder is probably a cool person outside of the classroom, but she is an unhelpful & illogical teacher. She expects students, through material tests, to know concepts that we have to self-teach. Simply put, she is a talker, not a teacher. I do NOT recommend this course with her & hope that she takes on the feedback from her students.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Dr. Snyder was very rude and not personable. She made expectations unclear and was nearly impossible to reach outside of class. I would email her questions and she would email back snotty and demeaning responses DAYS later. She simply is not a good professor and this class was a pain in the butt.
I thought that Professor Snyder was hard to follow. Her lectures were hard to understand and when it came to exams she barely reviewed with us what was needed to know on the test, and when she did it was hard to understand. Most of the class seemed to be struggling the whole semester.
Possibly one of the worst professors I've had in college. She does not seem to care about the students what so ever. Went into office hours multiple times or emailed her only for her to tell me to "check my notes". Goes off on tangents and makes class extremely boring. Tests are based on lectures, textbook readings, a big pool of homework questions
I can speak for my fellow classmates and say Tamara Snyder is not a great professor. Her study guides for the test do not help and her lectures are passionless and dry. She does not respond to emails and she makes it difficult to ask questions during class. You do not want to have her as a professor trust me I speak from experience.
Don't recommend her, she blames everything on people not showing up and she puts you to sleep
She made what could of been a 30-minute class 2 hours every single day.
Easily one of the best courses you can take as an education major. Synder is friendly and is always willing to work with you. Her grading style is different from most classes, but its straightforward and allows you to essentially decide your grade. Each class is a mini lab and you can redo ANY assignment for the grade you want, even tests.10/10 rec
This professor had a very clear laid out blackboard and the homework relatively easy. You could get away with not buying the book. The class has 3 total exams and no final exam but the exams do have a lot of weight on your grade but she provides plenty of extra credit to earn points back. Exams are taken on proctoru.
I really liked Mrs. Snyder and her astronomy course this semester. Her lectures seemed interesting to me and I liked her grading system which allows you to retake learning standards from the previous test on the new one. I don't know why she has so many bad reviews b/c she didn't go off on tangents and not too difficult. would take again for sure.
This professor will put you straight to sleep. There were 500 people in this class and only 50 would show up (thats how hard it is to listen to her). She is simply not good at explaining things, and does not engage with the students.
This is one of those classes without mandatory attendance but it's good to go. Her new grading criteria makes it easy to excel in the class. There are two short quizzes a week and a total of 3-4 tests. Manageable class that I would take again.
I would never take this course again. Her grading system is ridiculous. She does not teach anything, then when you share with the class and give the incorrect answer she will make you look and feel very embarrassed in front of the whole class. Then, she proceeds to not give you the correct answer. She and the TA constantly give different answers.
The class itself is easy and majority of the work is done with your table group. However, the professor makes it miserable and embarrasses you in front of the whole class during class discussion if she doesn't agree with what you are saying. The grading system is weird and if she says that class will end early, don't believe her.
You are primarily measured on three exams-one part of which is open book and the other part (made up of twice as many questions), more heavily weighted, is taken via ProctorU, which the professor has been told numerous times is a poor experience. Her expertise in Physics does not override her poor online teaching abilities. Do not recommend.
I took physics and human affairs with her, and I enjoyed the course. I am awful at science, but this course is easy to understand and enjoyable. There is an in-class exam and an out-of-class exam that are averaged together for your grade. Attendance in her class is for extra credit, but I would recommend attending, as her tests are lecture-heavy.
Dr. Snyder clearly knows what she is talking about in her class. I do not know why she is rated so low, as she has made learning about science so enjoyable and fun. There ae clicker questions and homework every week, though only 3 exams which can range on difficult, but overall not a bad course.
Easiest science class if you want an A. If you want extra credit, go to class for the clicker points. Professor Snyder, for exams, take 2/3 of your exam grade, then take the same exam online (with notes and Google) as 1/3 of your exam and add them together for your real exam grade. The clicker, homework, and nongraded exams are helpful for exams.
I loved Professor Snyder. She was absolutely amazing. She cares so much about her students, gives so many reminders on email and in class, and always makes sure students understand everything. I really appreciated her going above and beyond to make this class a little less stressful!
Class wasn't hard I just didn't put in any effort which is why I got a B. She definitely loves physics but I didn't find her lectures super interesting but she was fine. Material not much more difficult than a high school level physics class. Decent class I just didn't care about it.
The lectures can be dry, but the manageable grading system makes this class doable. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for exam prep, alongside the textbook.
Dr. Snyder loves physics. Each class is a mini lab. You can redo the homework as many times as you need to get the grade that you want. Overall grade is 20% homework, 80% tests. For this class, if you miss more than 2 classes, then you get dropped a letter grade. Seems harsh, but test content is all from the labs.

Awesome professor. The class is easy if you go to it & pay attention. The lecture & lab is combined into one class period which is nice. 4 tests over the lab material. Not much lecturing. She is a very nice person who wants her students to succeed. You can redo all the homework & tests. Can only miss 1 class before getting bumped a letter grade.
Dr. Snyder is wonderful! she gives great examples of labs to use in future classrooms. I rented the required texts for this class and it worked out great! come to class and come prepared and you will be just fine in this class!
Love this woman. Loves talking about her passions. Class is long so just don't think about when class is over the whole time or it wont be fun. Talks pretty slow but has a lot to offer when asked questions. Class is fun and required–if miss more than 2 classes you drop a letter grade. Really interactive class, classmates and professor.
Took Physics and Human Affairs, and she was a great teacher. Overall, the class is an easy science credit. She has homework due every Sunday, a 5-10 question quiz for the homework. ATTENDANCE is not mandatory, but she gives extra credit for showing up. There are 4 tests, and you can retake the test + No final!! Just study for the test!
She's overall really nice and understanding, attendance isn't mandatory and she posts her lectures on blackboard but going helps a lot. She's very reachable however I will say her study guides and lectures do not reflect on the test maybe like 5 out of the 15-18 questions actually reflect them, all the rest of them have nothing to do with it.
not a hard class to pass with A if you go the lectures and study a bit, the book is not required since she goes over it in the lecture.
shes so wonderful. Offers a lot of test retakes if you mess up and attendance is not mandatory but is extra points. very easy class
Her test are so difficult? Like there is actually no way to properly study for them, have not learned one useful thing. Thought it was going to be cool just ended up wasting my time.
