Only talks about himself and his experiances-doesnt seem to have clear knowledge of the subject
Would rather have my left eye removed with a spoon than take a class from this man again.
Mr. Sukkary is an excellent professor who cares for his students. He is very knowledgeable about the subject as well. In addition, his class is very simple. Keep up the good work Mr. Sukkary!
Took his class during Summer. I learned a lot in a short time. His grading was very fair. Extra credit was offered to make up for a missed or low score quiz. I would definately take him again. Plus, he's great eye candy! :o) I wish he would teach ECON classes!!!
Inteligent man, but kind of anal. Doesn't offer his own oppinion very much, unless you talk to him after class. Easy material, but expects you to read the book and calls on people to answer ?'s in class. Easy tests if you follow his study guide. Only downside, he takes attendance 'every' time!!!!
I took his summer class and really enjoyed it. It was very interesting and there was a lot of group interaction which was great. He is very helpful and cares about his students. He is a great teacher. I would recommend this class to anyone. Make sure you attend every class.
Doors of opportunity in the political field were opened for me after this class. His interest in educating whom ever is interested in politics is overwhelmingly under rated in this forum! His knowlege of Sac's legislature is AWESOME! For those students that didn't get his class, get out of politics.
Fun, Interactive, Dynamic Environment Encourage Students To Learn And Participate. Includes Guest Speakers, Videos, Internet, And Activities eliminating Boredom. Less Written Work! Professor: Extremely Knowledgeable (Material, Work Experience 4State Gov.), Helpful and Friendly. Worth 'Time' & '$$$'.
Sukkary is a nice enough person but he lacks qualities that make for a good teacher. He's a bit anal retentive, gets side-tracked during lectures and tries to rush too much info in the last 5 min of class. I don't recommend him.
Mr. sukkary is a great teacher, everyone should take his class. Nice and funny and i'm not just saying that because he's my uncle.
Mr. Sukkary's class was informative. I learned so much since taking his class. He provided guest speakers and own knowledge of subject. Exams: mult. choice and essay. If you want to learn, his class is for you. I had to find out for myself and this class was worth it. Kudos to Mr. Sukkary!
he sucked - he is always late grading tests - we got our tests back three weeks after we took them. he is unclear in his lessons - our class would spend days on one chapter- Mr.S is nice but i would not recomend his class.
Returned tests VERY VERY late. Expects you to do your part but doens't do his part in class. Easy class. He likes to ask students opinions instead of actually teaching. He is very passionate about politics & will be disappointed if you aren't as passionate about it as well. take notes lectures a bit scattered. review info is all you need.
dont be late to class!!
He is extremely inflexible with regard to being on time for class even if you work f/t. He will NOT excuse a tardy of any kind. Tries to cram way too much into the last 5 minutes of class. Doesn't get assignments/tests back in a timely fashion, can be rude and dismissive.
Great teacher. I took Tabares for the same class, withdrew and was suggested to take Mr. Sukkary's poli sci class in the summer. Really good class, I appreciate a teacher who doesn't let his own political standings come out, as opposed to other teachers. He has speakers, uses multi-choice and essay. But he is really serious about what he wants on this short answers and essay, if he says 3 to 5 lines, he means it and will dock points if you do otherwise. He made poli sci fun and able to comprehend!!
He is a good teacher, just not a nice guy. Extremely strict about being on time, and he can be very unfair. He would take my paper because I was less than one minute late, but I saw him taking somebodies paper on another day, being about 5 minutes late. But he explains the material very well, and his tests are easy.
Very Intellectual! Attractive, both mentally and physically!!
Good teacher. Does not impose his personal views, but is open to everyone expressing their views & comments. Encourages class discussions. Gives very thorough lectures. Expresses the topics that will be covered on the exams. Very knowledgeable & professional. Makes the class interesting and shows it's importance.
How hard is it to be on time? Sukkary was a good professor. Fair to both points of view and he didn't force his beliefs into the discussion. The book on the other hand was ridiculous.
Mr. Sukkary was a great teacher, very nice. He made this topic very interesting and applicable to today's world. We had excellent discussions and good speakers. He always gives you a list of what is going to be on the test ahead of time. Tests were fair, multi-choice and short essay.
He's kinda anal about attendence and takes points away and hes anal about assignment but the assignments are really easy and his test are really easy if u study from his review the session before.
Extraordinary Professor! Knows his material, great presentation, interesting, and engaging. Cares about his students and what they learn. He is helpful, great listener, encourages critical thinking, and participation. Testing material is clear and understandable. Pay attention, take good notes, show up, and you should enjoy his class. I highly rec
mr sukkary is bomb. he's knowledgable and has tons of firsthand experiences. keep up with the work. it's worth it. i got an A :)
You have to go to class if you want a good grade but he is very straight forward and is an overall good person. He lets you know what will be on the tests and knows his subject very well. Take him.
It is disappointing to see so many negative comments regarding Mr. Sukkary's attendance policy. How can you learn if you aren't in class - not to mention the distraction factor of people waltzing in 5-10 mins into lecture. I highly rec. Sukkary. He really knows his stuff and wants students to do well. Doesn't push his views or opinion. Awesome Pro
He's good enough. I actually like his class. Attendance policy is just awful though. You come in a second late, you lose points. But other than that, good teacher.
hardest/boring class i have ever taken!does not shut his mouth from the second class starts to the very second it ends/lectures the entire time-thought i was gona fall asleep!.. (dont even think class will ever get cancelled or let you out early, not happening)unless u kiss his ass&live & breathe his txt. book, dont expect a good grade!
Okay, Sukkary is a wonderful professor! Very enthusiastic about this subject. Come to his class and study, like a true college student should, and you'll get at least a B. Goes over every single thing on the tests, and offers extra credit. Excellent class.
You have to go to class and on time, but he knows his stuff and offers you every chance to get a good grade in his class. A very good teacher.
A good teacher, and he actually has experience working with the CA legislature. One absence/tardy means you lose 2 points, but he offers extra credit. HW is all online and pretty easy. The tests are pretty straightforward and he offers an excellent review for the tests beforehand. Even though he takes a while to grade tests, I didn't mind.
Very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. I thought he was nice and flexible. One can do well in the class in one makes sure that they show up for the review before the test.
The class was exciting, and informative. He has a way of presenting the material so that it is interesting and fun! He is very fair, but make no mistake you will have to earn your grade!
worst teacher ever i have never seen or heard of a worser teach hes an azzhole to the fullest unless your his favorit. all hr talks about is his old job.. hes a joke every one hates him soo strict dont even bother showing up a min late no points he no one could sit in the back to rows and test taking he inspects evey one scan tron twice ....
Absolutely terrible teacher. And its not because I have done poorly in his class. Will take away points from anyone if they show up to class on time, you must be early. Also only uses material from the book, with no originality on his behalf. I have no idea what any of these people are talking about above me,I dreaded going to his class every time.
Not sure what all the fluff is about. This professor has no originality. I’m not sure why the guy is even teaching. He has no flexibility but expects you to be flexible with his tardy test returns. You are better off finding another Political Science professor you well be happy you did.
Incredibly boring. All you need to do to pass the tests is memorize all the vocab from the book and show up the day before the test to know what the few written questions will be but attendance is mandatory. He takes way too long to get tests back and doesn't care about students his at all. If you have to take this class, don't take this teacher!
Professor Sukkary was awesome!! I loved his class... it was extremely informative and it gave me a new outlook on the world of poli sci!! he's a lil late in grading tests but it's all good! Not only was this an informative class he was great eye candy! I definitely recommend this class!
WENT TO HIS CLASS TWICE, THEN DROPPED IT. I DIDN'T LIKE HIS ATTITUDE, KIND OF ARROGANT, HAD LOTS OF REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS.
Great professor! I fell in love with the class, very informative, lots of insider-type info that you won't find elsewhere. He gives you what he expects you to know for the tests. Easy grading system. If you want an easy A and do not mind doing your homework and reading, this is it for you!
Learned a lot about political science and didn't expect to gained that much information, not a boring class.
professor sukary is a wonderful teacher. he is very clear and very informative. he takes his job seriously. he's a little strict about attendance. but thats totally fine.. i barely do anywork and i have an A. overall great and highly recomended teacher
He is a very good teacher. You do need to go to class, read the book, and pay attention. But his reviews are extremely helpful.
Gifted teacher. Must do reading & homework to get an A. Great lecturer, encourages student participation, narrows down material to study for exams in reviews. I learned a lot and was never bored. He's had a career in politics, but limits his comments and what little he does share illustrates points from the text. Gives extra help when asked.
=] awesome
Professor Sukkary is an excellent instructor, he was very knowledgable and I loved how he included his life experiences in with the lectures. I had a hard time concentrating during class becasue he is SO HOT! His reviews for the test were great, and really helpful for exams. I hope to take another class with him, he so damn hot!! He can take me out
this professor gets a f in my book for simply being contradictory. From the beginning the professor said we are adults and are responsible for our work but refused allow the use of a laptop because he couldn't control what i would do. this isnt junior high.
mr. sukkary is the definition of a good teacher. he shows up to class every day on time, and takes his class seriously. he knows his stuff, and loves class participation. Cute smile too.
Great teacher! His study guides are extremely helpful! Sometimes he calls on random people to answer questions during the lectures so make sure you know the material before class.
Honest, gave up front instructions and stuck by them; if you don't want to attend his class, don't...pay attention to his lectures and wala you will pass....want super easy...go back to grade school
He is a great teacher! My kids and I all really like him.I love him out of the teacher mode! He is so sweet and happy! And, okay, yeah he is good-looking. I'll miss him after the class is over.He is a great guy, with an awesome smile.Hugs to you, Professor! From, the 3 of us...
Very imformative class.Needed for graduation/transfer. Absolutely need to read the book. Is shrink wrapped for about $60 i think. I'll sell mine for $30 (or lower) has very useful notes with possible test questions.e-mail me at [email protected] i had mostly A's on tests. Thanks!
Can be weird but he is ok. Dont really need to read book, but make sure to take notes and study the vocab that he tells you will be "possibly" on the test. will throw in a couple that he doesnt mention. I read about 2 chapters total and i got a good grade...
He is a really good teacher. Clear on his instructions and very helpful. Very knowledgeable, which is appreciated. Some extra credit available. If you do the reading and attend class your good. Want to buy my book-email me at: [email protected].
Is ok. Kinda weird. One of those teachers that is always right no matter what. Do flashcards for review and you will pass the class. Didnt really like him, but now that i look bad, he wasn't that bad after all.
This class is pretty cool. Attendance is pretty mandatory. He gives all answers to his test in his lectures and his study guides are very similar to the test. Eazy breezy class
very good teacher. bring book to class you use it. tells you everything on the exams. final is just the test for the last few chapters. really easy and fun. i have a loose leaf txtbook for sell if you're interested email [email protected]
This guy is horrible! He is super strict on grammer and punctuation, but he constanlty mispells words. After we took the first exam, we didn't get it back until the day before the second exam. We didn't get the second exam back until AFTER the third! He has high expectations of his class, but doesn't have those same expectations for himself.
Class is hard! Talks way too fast like he only has 1 breath left. Can be funny sometimes... Very strict on attendance and punctuation. You have to study Hard and READ READ READ!!! No reading = Kiss your grades goodbye!
Summer 6weeks class was fast, too much to read though.Interesting Class but Professoris strict to attendance.Just follow theDirections he gives and you will pass the class.Mandatory book use, bring it to every class.I have my book for sale. If you need it, email me @ [email protected]. Good luck with exams and quizzes!
Great professor! Attendance and book is mandatory. Let us know what topics were going to be covered on the test so studying is a little easier, especially for this fast-paced summer session. I still have the textbook, email me at [email protected] if interested.
This guy rocks. I took his summer class. lots of reading (none that i did) but still got an A. attend ALL classes and take great notes and youll do great. his study guides are pretty much the test if you study for a hr or so youll do fine. interesting class as well i learned a lot.
This Class is really challenging. He comes off like a jerk but he's a pretty cool guy. BE ON TIME.. GO TO EVERY CLASS. READ EVERY CHAPTER... WORD FOR WORD.. Take all the lecture notes and don't be discouraged if you don't do well on the reading quiz's.. He does take forever to get exams back to you.
Really enjoyed the class because the professor DOES care..How many professors do you find that clearly dont like teaching and very likely cannot stand you?! If you want to get a real education then take this class, if you are interested in 'getting over with' this is the wrong professor for you.
First off i want to say this class was very hard but I did take the 6 week. I am not a student who usually works very hard but this class forced me to. All his lectures were very interesting and he cares about his work. Don't let the difficulty stray you away you will learn a ton.
Very caring. Missed the first couple classes so fell behind in work otherwise I would have rec'd a better grade. MUST read chapters and attend classes. He makes you want to anyway. HE ROCKS
I hated political science when I began this class, but Prof. Sukkary loves it so much it rubbed off. He's a funny enough guy. His tests aren't bad. Take a lot of notes and do your readings. He bases your grade on reading quizzes, tests and 5 current events. Interesting material. He brings it up to date and makes the class interesting.
If you like being asked questions you don't know the answers to, this class is for you. He wastes valuable class time waiting for question responses. If we knew it all professor, we wouldn't be in class would we? Easy class, liberal teacher, slants his views so i felt bad for those republican people, but overall not a horrible class.
This class definitely is not easy, mainly due to the weekly reading quizzes. The exams aren't too hard if you're good at memorization. You must read the chapters & take notes in this class. Overall, I liked it and had no interest in the topic prior to taking the class. Also, prof Sukkary is really nice and caring.
A great professor. One that attempts to invest a little more information and personal thought into the subject than most that you would find in community college.
Great class. Ensure you complete the reading assignments and study for the examinations thoroughly. Professor is very helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about this subject. Very nice guy. He has remained politically neutral throughout the class and I would encourage him to remain that way. American has far too many liberal professors as it is.
This professor knows his material very well & has some pol. exp. but to be honest, this class is very HARD. He is EXTREMELY strict w/ his grading policy & its impossible 2 get good quiz grades even if u read. Theres a LOT to read in the class esp if its in summer. Hwk must be turned in before class starts (-5pts if not), attendance mandatory!STUDY!
Heavy workload! Be sure to invest a LOT of time in this class. Tip: don't take more than 1 other class with this one. Esp if you're working. pol sci 301...Read, don't miss/be late for class, turn in work before class or on time, double check your papers, study hard for the essay questions esp on the test, study study...strict on rules
Great class. very productive. Learned a lot; I hope i can apply it in my future. Thank you Professor S. :) ..................ps.Take advantage of the extra credit, study ahead of time to the questions he points out. Don't hesitate to ask him for help or email him. And yes, its possible to get a good grade :) good luck
He was unapproachable, he did not seem interested in helping some. It is a heavy workload I do not recommend it for summer semester. Publicly embarrassed some of his students. From the other comments on here I thought he would be an okay guy, but I recommend another teacher.
He actually loves what he teaches, but a bit hard to get a good grade. Take if you really want to learn!
Awesome and super easy. If you're fresh out of high school then you might think this is difficult. His attitude, syllabus, and instructions for every assignment is a little overbearing but just be a good student and do what is told. Don't waste time reading the book, just study pretests/practice tests/interactive flashcards found on mypoliscilab.com
Expects everyone to be adults and doesnt baby you. 4 current event papers, 5 reading quiz, 4 exams + participation points. Expectations are very clear. Reading is a MUST to do well. A little strict in grading but really loves the subject and willing to help, offers some extra credit. He also encourages discussion without adding his own views in.
Prof. Sukkary is one of the best professors I've had in my college career and there has been a few. He is definitely a students professor. He is helpful and available. You can get an A in this class if you simply follow what he asks of you. I will recommend Mr. Sukkary to anyone taking a Poli. Sci. course.
He knows his stuff, though he is very dismissive when it comes to opinions bc he doesn't want arguments to start, so he stays very unbiased on topics, which is a good thing. Very anal about specifics, so make sure you read and absorb his 7 page syllabus! I enjoyed the class and he was an nice guy, but save q's for after class to get better answers.
Professor Sukkary is one of the best teachers I have had because he takes the time to explain the small details to you. You do have to attend the class in order to pass the class with a successful grade. He does test from the book but mainly he uses his lecture notes, so make sure to take good notes. You will enjoy taking his class. =)
I enjoyed taking Professor Sukkary's class. He is very thorough and knows very well the material. He cares about his students and will do his best to assist those who ask for it. There are extra credit opportunities. You will do well just as long as you study, participate, and attend class. I highly recommend Professor Sukkary. :)
I didn't know much about politics prior to taking this class. Although prof. Sukkary is demanding, it is not impossible to take "A" if you study hard, and pay attention to every detail on the syllabus. He also gives some opportunities for extra credit. The class was very interesting, sometimes hard, but definetely worth taking.
Great guy and he really knows his stuff. But if you're just looking to take the class to get it done, and am not getting a POLS degree, take someone else. He is very passionate, but way too demanding for a 3 unit class. He's tricky so you can't slack off in lecture or in the at home readings.
He is very clear as far as what he expects so it's easy to lose points if you don't follow directions. Overall, class wans't too hard as long as you took notes and do the req readings. Don't take the class if you plan on slacking. Attendance is mandatory and there are participation points daily. He does offer a few EC opportunities.
He's really hot. Besides that he's a great teacher, he made class intresting and insightful. There is a lot of reading on your own, so if you aren't motivated you shouldn't take this class.
This class was hard for me because it was Summer, tons of work, and very fast paced. I worked EXTREMELY hard and got a B! I also developed a real interest for politics because Prof. Sukkary taught with such passion and knowledge. For the 1st time ever I'm excited for the primary elections next year. Great class! Thanks for everything Prof. Sukkary!
EXTREMELY DEMANDING! If you don't follow the rules EXACTLY he will detect points. Very syllabus heavy - spent 2 days going over it. 1-2 reading quizzes every week so expect to memorize a lot of material. He also goes over the chapters AFTER the quizzes, which I don't believe is very productive. If you suck at politics like me, then don't take him.
Very demanding, but also extremely straight forward and clear about his expectations. He wants you to succeed, and the leave the class actually knowing something. Definitely a lot of work, but the class stays interesting. He has plenty of rules, but he is essentially telling you how to pass his class. Follow the handouts precisely and you'll ace it
Sukkary is a great teacher. He expects his students to act like college students. If you are mature and take pride in your work and grades, then you will do fine. If you plan on doing the bare minimum, then this is not the class for you. Focus on Lecture notes for exams, follow all directions to a T, and take advantage of any extra credit offered.
UGH honestly such a demanding class, i took this class with the intent of having it be like a government class from high school and boy was i wrong. SO MUCH DAMN WORK, cant ever seem to catch a break with this guy, he asks for so much on his exams. its just really a lot to handle, if you are taking a full class load, DONT recommend him at all
A very professional professor. He's highly knowledgeable. I had no interest in this subject matter prior to attending his class however I gained some interest afterwards because he made it so exciting and fun.
Overall, he's a very knowledgeable professor that covers a large amount of information. Don't take his courses if you're expecting an easy A. He assigns a chapter test 90% of the class meetings . Take his classes if you're genuinely interested in political science, you'll learn a lot.
There are quizzes about every class and they are worth a lot of points in the end so you really have to study for those. The tests aren't too bad though, he gives a verbal study guide that is pretty accurate to the test so if you study that you should be perfectly fine! Overall, he was a great professor that really cares about his students!
One of the best professors I've had! He really cares about his students and makes it clear he loves what he does. He has a lot of knowledge and experience that makes learning from him very easy! The tests aren't bad if you study the study guide, if anything, the quizzes are what will hurt your grade. You really have to study for those! Take him!
Read your book. There were many quizzes and they were hard, but he gives a very complete verbal study guide to each exam. I really enjoyed him as a professor because he was passionate about the subject, and made sure people understood the material. It was a fun class, but I earned my B.
He is super strict at grading and I was surprised to get an A
He is very knowledgeable in his field of study and very passionate about it. That was intimidating at first due to thinking he was going to be unforgiving. Turns out he is extremely fair and cares. If you put the work in like a college student should, you will be fine. I loved the class and would do it all over again. Study for the reading quizzes!
The professor is very passionate about political science. In his class there are no shortcuts, if you don't read the book you will not excel. He is one of the most energetic professors I've encountered. He gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit.Take advantage of them!(WAC) And gives great exam preparations.
Professor Sukkary is very knowledgeable about numerous governments and is very professional. He makes an effort not show bias toward any political parties or their candidates. He encourages class discussion and never disregards or belittles any students. There is a lot of reading (15 -30 pgs. per class meeting), but the book is very interesting.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor Sukkary is lively and engage with an obvious passion for teaching. He also has real world experience in California politics, which is a plus. Recipe for an A - Show up to EVERY class, do the reading (in advance), participate, turn papers in on time. The test prep he gives is excellent.
Sukkary is a cool professor and clearly passionate about Political Science. Buy the textbook because you will be reading nearly the whole entire thing and there are chapter quizzes that are nearly impossible. But the actual exams are much easier, and Sukkary basically gives you the answers to the test when he eventually puts up the study guide.
One of the best professor I have taken. I took this class over summer and it was 3 hours a day and went by super fast. He keeps the class interesting because he has a lot of personal experience. Exams are really straightforward and are pretty similar to the study guides. Sukkary is a really nice guy and is willing to help anyone.
Such a great professor! He's strict but fair, and really clear about he wants from the students. You're going to be reading the whole book but it's pretty interesting! Really wants his students to succeed and tries his best to help out. Every class time is really fun, he really knows what he's talking about and has lots of stories/jokes! Take him!!
Amazing professor. Sets you up with everything you would possibly need to succeed in the class. The quizzes are short, but challenging. You won't pass the quizzes unless you read the chapters. Take advantage of all extra credit opportunities because it will help those missed questions on quizzes and docked points on papers.
Prof. Sukkary is very knowledgeable and really knows a lot about politics. He's tough grader; however, you'll definitely get an A as long as you pay attention and don't miss class. A lot of reading. Overall, this class is very interesting and a student can really take away a lot of useful information later on in life.
Sukkary makes it very clear what he expects of you. 4 tests including the final, not cumulative. 10 reading quizzes (must read the assigned reading before and study, this is the hardest part of the class). 4 short papers with a structure given, extremely easy if you read his instructions. Overall an easy A-B if you are willing to read.
If you follow the syllabus you can get an A. He expects a certain level of writing ability. The quizes are the hardest part of this class. One of the best professors i've had. Class went by super fast for me. If you are a poli sci major, i would recommend taking his class. If politics bore you, this will be a long class, by the looks of some peers.
Prof. Sukkary pushes his students to do their best in his class. Students are expected to read materials prior to class in order for lectures to be productive and thought-provoking. Expect to write a few articles on current events, present one of those articles in class, and answer material-based questions on exams in multiple-choice/essay format.
Pretty alright guy. Lectures were pretty interesting. He's very picky about things ("-1 point if name isn't printed Last, First"). I didn't really like him as a person, but he had his moments. I asked him what my grade was and he pretty much told me to add it up myself. I would take someone else personally, but he does know his stuff.
Professor Sukkary is very clear on his assignments. He gives study guides to all of the exams and they are vey straight forward. I learned a lot from him. Quizzes are frequent and can be challenging but if you are very careful when reading you will do fine.
Not only will you get an amazing professor, you'll also receive a helpful friend. He really cares about his students, gives extra credit, and drops your lowest quiz score. He is accessible outside of class, knowledgeable, and experienced in his field. He gives a clear study guide and will give answers to the exam in his lectures.
this class will challenge you, but the professor will guide to the best of his abilities. you just have to put in the work, he drops your lowest quiz score etc... overall cool teacher he's the man you want to study under if your future leads down the political path
Professor Sukkary is an outstanding teacher, and he makes Political Science fun! His classes are very interactive and he requires participation to earn daily points. He definitely covers all test material in class, but you need to take good notes. 3 Papers, 3 Tests, On-Line Book. Strict on timing, no late work, but very fair. Expectations clear
Personally I was not a fan of this prof because he was somewhat condescending and didn't really make the class interesting but hey whatever. He does provide detailed study guides and is very clear on grading criteria tho I do think he is a harsh grader but that just mightve been me idk. The papers are really easy if you follow the format. Twas ok
Professor Sukkary is a great teacher of Political Science. very knowledgeable, great at explaining the History/Politics. Made learning the History/Politics interesting and is very interactive with the class BUT there is a lot of work to do especially as a summer class (reading, online quizzes, chapter quizzes and in class exams) BUT offers E.C.
Professor Sukkary is a great teacher, and his instructions are clear as is his grading criteria. He gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Do the work and participate during class and you will pass.
Sukkary is an AMAZING teacher! I took this class to learn more about politics & I couldn't have picked a better mentor to do it! Participation & showing up on time matters. He is very thoughtful & meticulous & organized, he's there if you need his help & he is gracefully patient. Study & read & you will get an A. He is the best!
Kinda strict but overall nice and easy going. I mean after all it is college and some stuff is tough
Sukkary is amazing! He expects you to act and work like a college student should, but he is a very funny and caring professor. He is a great professor if you're looking for an informative class where you will learn a lot. 4 exams, 4 essays, stay on top of the homework and you should be chill. A bit picky on essay formatting, but not too bad.
He was kind BUT he goes over EVERYTHING that will happen in your semester on day 1, and touches on it very briefly, then excepts you to just figure it out online. The thing that left me screaming at my computer is the fact that his Reveal online tests will take anywhere from 3-4 hours to complete and they are once per week, He is also VERY picky.
He's great.
Professor Sukkary is a great teacher. Class mostly contained lectures and maybe 3 group in class assignments. There are a few current event papers but he has the specific format instructions which make it easy to get 100% on those. Many revel assignments due so be prepared to have 1-3 of those due in a week.
He is very picky. All small details, really matter. If you are interested in politics take this class. His lectures are interesting. However, you have to put a lot of effort to get a good grade. He is well organized and gives opportunity for at least 30 extra credit points.
Professor Sukkary is very dedicated to helping his students and even actively seeks them out after class for feedback on assignments or to just check up on them. His lectures are always interesting and interactive. He has a very strict grading policy, so if you even slightly deviate from instructions, prepare to get your score docked.
Professor Sukkary was an AMAZING professor. I did have to take his Pols 301 class twice but both times he helped me anytime I needed it, he was easy to contact, and he gives great feedback. TO PASS THE CLASS all you need to do is STUDY, TAKE NOTES/ FOCUS DURING LECTURES, DO THE HOMEWORK, & TRY TO DO ALL THE ASSIGNMENTS AHEAD OF TIME! :) Good Luck!
Even if you get good grades on your exams, quizzes, and current event papers, he still gets upset that he couldn't babysit you for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Best professor Ive had at Sierra college. This class was definitely my most enjoyable gen ed and Prof Sukkary is an AWESOME lecturer and teacher all around the board. You have to read Revel in order to be successful in this class, no way around it. Gives fantastic study guides and several extra credit assignments. 100% recommend.
I had a summer class so the classes were long but did not put me to sleep and he gave breaks during the class. His tests are VERY similar to his lectures and the study guide so take notes! His feedback is very clear and he sets his expectations very well-- you will know exactly what to do in order to do well in his class. He's a very nice guy too!!
Very kind professor who makes it extremely clear as to what he expects with the work. The lectures, slides, and study guide will be everything you need when it comes to exams! Attendance is mandatory but his class didn't feel as long as it actually was. I added political science as my second major because of him and his class!!
I took his class online because of COVID and his weekly assignments weren't too much. The tests are manageable if you do the study guide. Four current event papers but they're pretty fun. Overall nice class.
Never met a teacher who encouraged me to drop. I wasn't even failing. I had a B. When I asked him to specify an assignment because I did not understand, he said "I will not explain again; look in modules." He had good lectures, but was not helpful as a teacher. I always reached out for help but all I got was "I suggest you drop." -it was degrading.
He gave pretty helpful feedback on the homework assignments and exams. This class was based on weekly Revel assignments, and we also had 4 current event papers and 4 exams. Exams are pretty easy, and the study guide is very helpful. Also, if you procrastinate a lot, it will be very easy to fall behind. Expect to do work and for your grade.
I was looking forward to this class but honestly Sukkary was quite condescending and harsh. You will learn a lot but he is very picky about pretty much everything and the workload was intense for a 3-credit class, taking up a disproportionate amount of time compared to my higher level classes. Don't take if you have a busy semester.
Single. Worst. Professor... His syllabus allows for APA format on papers, but he doesnt actually like it when theyre submitted that way. He doesnt like using tab, you have to push space 5 times. Literally what he said. I dont think hes nice, and I dont think hes good at what he does.
He is a tougher professor.
This professor will dock you down points if it is not what he wants to see. For example, on an exam, you can answer all questions in clear thought and he will give u a 0 or if your lucky a 5/10 and will say you didnt answer the question or give enough example.. even if it does not specify a certain number of examples to list. I do not recommend
He is very caring, but he may come off harsh at first. I took his class during distance learning and lectures were optional; I barely went and I did fine. The revel readings had section & chapter quizzes, which were easy. He gives very accurate study guides for the 4 chapter exams. Final wasn't cumulative.
When you ask for office an appointment to clarify some questions that you have on assignments. He always refer to a source. He has a good exam review. He is not at all helpful for students. Especially who have a different political ideology. Tough grader. Now, it is up to you want to try it go take it.
I'm not sure if he just doesn't like online teaching (compared to his reviews before Covid) but my experience with him was not a good one. He was very inflexible and unreasonably particular about the smallest things -- like the 5 spaces tab or something being slightly offset. I would not recommend him unless you're okay with being micromanaged.
I took Professor Sukkary's class over summer. It was a 8 week course. The class was very well structured. We had to complete weekly readings and quizzes on Revel and then do 2 posts and 1 reply in the discussion board. We had 2 Current Event papers and 2 exams. This was the easiest class I have ever taken online.
