She is wonderful, helpful and oh so loving.. she will make you feel right at home and not once will you have anxiety about the subject.. no matter how bad you stink at math.. I highly reccomend her, she is totally cool and has never once been rude angry or mean!

She is a very GREAT teacher!!! If math is not your best subject i would take her. She helps you out a lot. She dosnt make you feel dumb! You do need to do your homework it really helps you out on test. She takes up homework for a grade but it helps you grade out in the end. She is really a very great loving and caring teacher.

Helpful, clear, shows step-by-step, will work one-on-one with you, and shows alt methods to solving problems. I had hardly no interest in math before I took this class. Will go out of her way to help you.

Best teacher I've probably ever had! I am terrible at Math and never made less than a B on her tests. She's very encouraing and had my class sign this "pact" that we would stick it out until the end. I'm really glad I did! Bummed I'm not taking her for 0306 but I give her props for making me finally get math! YAY MS RICE!

Mrs. Rice is awesome! I struggle with Math and I have taken her for 0305,0306,0307. I had to take another professor for 1314, but mrs, rice helped me the whole time. She goes above and beyond and cares if you pass. SHe will help you until the end. I reccommend her strongly!! YOu will be thankful you took her!! I was!!!!!!!!!!

Good and bad in all people I suppose, she is a good teacher and does give you chances.I am older and I like structure,noise control I suppose.I like a instructor that I can confide in or discuss any issues. I'm not sure that Mrs. Rice is this instructor but I guess everyone has a view on things. In the end she was fair.

She connected well with younger students, and was very “nurturing” as she appropriately called it. I felt she was sometimes snappy and sarcastic with some students that had trouble comprehending at first but that’s just her style. She took the time to stop and explain further as long as you stopped her and asked questions. Pretty lenient with hw.

Professor Rice is awesome! 0306 isn't a difficult class but if you struggle in math like I do with a few things she is definitely the one take. She emails back quickly, she is SO helpful and will go out of her to help you understand even if it is the weekend or holiday. If you go to class and show that you are trying you will do good in this class.

I love Ms. Rice she is awesome!! The way she explains things is so amazing I have never made an A in math until I took her class!! She honestly cares about students, and she really wants people to pass. . Shes very quirky and has the cutest kids :) She will even listen to why you cannot make it to class! I can even text her questions and she will help me like can you ask for a better professor?

I stink at math & she helped me to grasp as much of it as I possibly can. I still wasn't able to completely get it, so I only passed because of the extra credit project she gives you to help pad your grade. I would love to take her for college algebra, but she doesn't teach it solo... teaches 0305-college algebra in full semester, but that's mon-fri :(

Very good teacher, but you can't go at your own pace because she wants the other students to be at the same level. If you do answer even if it is correctl you'll be told not to do that because you're wrong. After everyone catches up they still end up doing it the way you said in the beginning. You have to be very PATIENT .

I took her course in 2015 in the summer on the 2nd 5 week mini. it was an easy A. you just have to be there & take notes. we did homework in class so no homework. shes very understanding that its summer so she does her best to get us out with all all the materiel needed. She does use my mathlab. Shes funny and hipster. I loved her class! recommend!

If you hate doing homework, dont take this class because it counts for 10% of your grade. Almost everyday something is due. Other than that, its awesome. You have 4 projects and you can do 2 for extra credit. Mid-term, its very easy. you make your own test. Attedence matters because she takes a grade on it. Would recommend this to anyone honestly

I took her AIM class. she is very clear in teaching you what you need to know. The reviews are just like the tests. 7 tests, 1 HW grade, and 1 final. In which your final replaces your lowest test grade. You can text her, meet before, after class. Math is hard as it is but she makes taking AIM easy.

Prof. Rice is very clear about everything she expects from you. Don't be afraid to ask questions cause she will NEVER make you feel stupid about not knowing something. Creating the Midterm was the hardest thing we did so start early.

She is the BEST! She has a passion in what she teaches. She makes class so easy and can geek out with her students. I enjoyed her class so much I wish she taught college algebra. Take her class if you want an A plus the martial she teaches will stick.

I took college algebra with Mrs Rice and she is pretty great. She explains everything in detail and gives you many examples. I have always struggled in math and I passed this class with an A. I put in a lot of work but ha I g a good teacher make a difference as well.

Loved this class. Ive learned so many different ways to be a good teacher in the future. I thought the projects were going to be hard but they were worth it because you got to learn from it. We did have homework but it wasn't heavy at all. Would take again

Mrs. Rice was an amazing instructor. About 1 assignment per week so I never felt like I was rushing. She is very friendly and would usually come up with silly but easy ways to remember rules of math. If you really want to pass she will work with you to make that happen. if you don't show up you will fall behind though.

One of the most caring professors I've had; she literally did all the review questions for our tests on video "youtube" so we could follow along. Although the content of the class is difficult she is a great teacher and will prepare you the best she can. Only complaint is that she's a tough grader; but as long as you study you will pass.

This was the best math class I have ever taken! There are 4 projects throughout the semester that you get to choose from a packet. It was really awesome how much stuff i left with from this course. I have "make-and-takes" that i can use when i become a teacher! Very beneficial class to take! Highly recommend. You get to use notes on the tests also+

Mrs. Rice might be one of the greatest professors I've ever had and really understands how to work with students. One day she picked up a student's baby and held the baby while teaching so that the student could write down notes. If every one of my courses could be taught by her, I would be ecstatic. Take the notes she gives and you'll do great.

I would recommended this class to anyone with Math issues like me. I am 39, I have struggled with Math since 3rd grade. Mrs. Rice is patient, caring, doesn't make you feel unintelligible. There is a Method to her madness, trust her math class process. She gives extra credit, she posts grades fast. Textbook is not necessary only the online. :)

She tells you the truth and is straight forward wish she taught 1351 anyways take her shes amazing the type of professor i wish to encounter in all my educational career. This has been my all time favorite teacher so far at San Jac. I use to hate math. I always had trouble understanding it and never getting it, but by the time I left Prof Rice's class I had a whole new prospective of math. She's the teacher that will make it easy for you to learn and if you don't understand she will make sure you do.

Overall, I would have Professor Rice teach that class only. I did like Professor Davidson, but his teaching style wasnt for me.

Professor Rice is amazing. She mad math for teachers fun and understanding. We got to experience a little of teaching ourselves as students and it was fun. We also got to do a bulletin board that deal with math. About 4 quizzes, midterm, slight homework, 4 projects and final exam. I would def recommend taking her for a class. She loves her students

I took her for my first semester of college (fall 2019) and she made math super easy. Shes such an amazing professor. She goes in deep and goes at a normal rate when she lectures. Shes not monotone at all she has humor and makes class fun. Shes welcoming every morning/day. Would totally recommend as a professor.

This professor was one of the BEST professors I ever had she made math very easy for us. Their was 5 test but she grades them very easy aslong as you try. Also she gives extra credit if you need it. On our last day of class she cried because we werent able to go back to class due to corona virus but she kept in touch with us the whole way through.

Took Math for Teachers 1. She is an invaluable prof. you will not regret. She cares, & is excellent at helping you understand. Shes flexible & works with you to help you win. Homework is optional, but prepares you for the quizzes. Projects, tests, quizzes, final are the only grades. For Math 1350, you will need a book, i recommend pdf, its cheaper.

I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR. If you are able to take her DO IT! 2 easy discussion boards every week . Homework every week, 7 test. But you get two trys on every test. All you do is 2 discussion boards and that weeks worth of homework. If its a test Im week youll do 2 discussions , homework and test. Test is every other week. AMAZING PROFESSOR!

Professor Rice is my favorite professor of ALL TIME. Im so happy I listened to the reviews about her because shes an absolute gem!! She helped me so much and was so clear with her instructions. When I had trouble understanding an assignment, she wouldnt hesitate to go over it again. There might be a good amount of homework, but its super doable

Professor Rice provided a lot of homework but it was easy to stay on top of. along with writing your own notes she provides step by step videos to help with any difficulties. She will also give you feedback or help you if you're struggling. the tests were open notes so that was super helpful too. would definitely take her as a professor again.
