This class was pretty good to go to but teaching methods need to be updated. The teacher, the text book, and the online lab all contradict each other which makes the material extremely confusing. The teacher acts like she doesn't want to be there which makes it difficult to be motivated. The text book is also completely useless.
I went to class like 3 times, and got an A in class. But, this does not mean it was easy - I used the textbook as my only source of information. I emailed her a couple of times with questions and she adequately answered them. But, she is kind of rude in class, doesn't explain things very well, and kind of gets frustrated when you don't get things
Tammie is a great teacher. She wants her students to understand the material and she takes time out of her day for any questions you have. The class was pretty difficult though. You definitely cannot be lazy and need to keep up with the online lab.
Do not take her why? No interest in helping you she has to do any additional work. Knows little about what u do on line, clearly hates her job. No late work even if someone dies, or if u get added late and it wasn't your fault. When u ask questions she treats you like your stupid for asking She does not care if u pass. Other teachers are way better
Wish I would of read these comments. She's not a good teacher. It's a very difficult class and I passed but no thanks to her. The book says one thing and she says another. I would ask her questions and get snotty responses.
Took her hybrid course and all the lectures were online; posted by a different professor (wish I would've taken his class instead). The chapter tests were due before the actual assignment. I would've enjoyed the class with a different professor. Don't take her class. But online accounting is great! You learn a lot from the professor in the videos
Horrible teacher! Please, pay attention to theses comments, she doesn't care about her students. Puts no effort in helping her students understand the material, and gets irritated when questions are asked.
Like others have said, she is very rude and unwilling to meet you half way. Got yelled at for submitting an assignment on time but in the wrong place and did not get credit. Other than that, the curriculum is the same as the other accounting teachers and her teaching skills aren't bad.
GOOD CLASS! REQUIRED ALOT OF WORK.
Homework and lectures are helpful, but they quizzes and tests occasionally have questions that are not part of the focus in the homework and lectures.
This is a tough class, with pretty dry subject matter. Tammie knows the subject well, and I don't think many students in this class really appreciate ALL of the extra materials she provides, especially online. I used all of them and it certainly helped my scores. I missed a lot of class but still kept up.
Is a hard class to pass in summer term, no recommended for summer. The teacher showed to have a great knowledge of the material but the term goes too fast for all we needed to cover
This is a hard class I would not recomend anyone taking it in the summer. That's what I did. It was very challenging, however she was very helpful on explaining everything and every flexible on meeting with student one on one to make they understand the material. I would finitely recommend Tammie.
Is a hard class to pass in summer term, no recommended for summer. Tammie seemed to have everything put together very well as well as handouts to understand everything. Would have been better if taken in a full semester.
Tammie is a good teacher. I think she knows what she is talking about but maybe needs more experience teaching this class. I would recommend her if you are self motivated and want a challenge. This is college so expect to do some work. my opinion she needs to present the concepts how the book does instead of her own methods. Over all a good class.
Tammie is a good teacher; she's good at explaining the concepts and makes good use of time in class. As in any other class, you have to make sure you read the material to supplement her lecture.
Great teacher, if you come to class, take notes, and do the homework you should be okay
This professor has real life experience in the accounting field and dose know what she is talking about. It is wise that you are willing to do your part of the work in this class, its not just an easy A. Overall a good class.
she is a good teacher but I do not recommend taking this class in summer because it is very short andyou need more time to learn well this class, which is actually very good class
i think she is a good teacher but i don not recommend taking this class in summer because it is very short and you need more time to learn well this class, which is actually very good class
Tammie is a quality teacher, this class requires you to stay on top of your home work and understand the concepts from each chapter.
Great Teacher but her methods eaching and my accounting lab were very different. Very busy course during the summer.
class is very fast moving in the summer semester
Taking this course during the summer was work! Many times Tammie wouldn't cover all the material because lack of time. However, she would teach key concepts and always ask if everyone was understanding. She was willing to answer questions and work with students on the side if needed. I took two accounting classes from her and would take a third.
Great teacher, she defines everything very clear but it was a hard course.
She is very good for teaching, demonstration, great of detail for explain to make me understand of accounting concepts. I like her speed of teaching, so it meant it not too slow or too fast. She makes sure that all students get understand. She gives opportunity for students to participate, envolve and questions in class. Thanks for her teaching.
I really like her teaching style.
she is good
She does a good job explaining material in class and working problems out with you. She sticks strictly to her syllabus. She is not very helpful with missed assignments or quizzes. Overall, she teaches the material well.
good teacher
Great professor and easy to learn from. Highly recommend her for accounting classes.
Is good at explaining things
Teacher assigned a mid term paper, then graded it like it was a thesis paper as if we were graduating from a Ivy League school. Everything else was pretty much by the book. No other complaints.
I liked the structure of this class more than the one I took for ACCT 2010. I would say there is a chapter aweek that includes homework and a quiz. But if you follow the instructions you will do great
She is a good teacher. She explains things well and prepares you for each test a quiz
Great class. This was my first time taking accounting and it was great. You have to read or watch the you-tube videos. As long as you do your part you will pass her class. You must also study because of all the new concepts, they don't stick especially if this is your first time learning of accounting.
Great class especially if its your first accounting course. You must read or watch the videos because they will help. Accounting was a new concept for me but if you study you do your work you will do fine. Just make a commitment that you will put some effort towards this class. I would take another class from this instructor.
This class is not difficult if you put in the work. Reading text book & watching videos are a must.
It was a challenging class. She did a great job teaching it, the material is just tough.
Very good professor. Class was not very hard.
Tammi knows her material. The grade you get is what you earned. Is upfront with requirements. Does some homework in class.
This is a tough tough class but Tammie gives you tons of outside resources. There are podcasts of each chapter and in conjunction with studying the text you can really crunch some accounting, 'cause you'll need it. I've taken two of her classes and I know I am ready for Accounting at the University level now. Not for wimps or slackers.
Willing to help and a very logical thinker. Easy to understand what she is trying to teach but pretty ruthless when it comes to deadlines.
Very knowledgeable in her field. Upfront and honest in course standards.
This is a tough tough class but Tammie gives you tons of outside resources. There are podcasts of each chapter and in conjunction with studying the text you can really crunch some accounting,
I enjoyed the class, but I did had to work hard.
I enjoyed the class, but I did had to work hard. She was very helpful.
Tammie was a great teacher. Perfect professor for introduction of Accounting. She definitely helps you grasp the fundamentals in Accounting. She provides you with additional notes and videos on each chapter covered. I wish I was taking her Acct 2020 class, but cannot make it to her scheduled classes next semester.
She is a very good instructor. She knows her accounting, uses visual examples in class that are also the homework questions. She does a very good job explaining how everything works. She is strict when it comes to the deadlines, but is fair. the class consists homework and quiz for each chapter covered, then tests. everything on pearsonlab
The Professor is helpful but the course is tough and the tests are tough as well .
more home work done on paper and turned in in class.
There is usually half instruction and half exercise. She is always there to help you. Be aware of the due day of quiz, homework, and test. No late work allowed. But she will drop one bad score from each. Overall, I enjoy the class! I work hard to catch up the schedule as well.
Tammie is the best accounting teacher I ever have. :)
great teacher!!!! there was a lot of busy work to do however, if you are always in class she will do most of the homework for you and its in easy A.
Great teacher, always there for extra help if you need it. You aren't required to be in class for points but it would require you to do more work on your own. Questions always answered in class and she is always willing to meet outside of class for extra help.
I took this class online. It was very hard. I don't think it was the teacher's fault though. A lot of the terms in the book didn't match the terms on MAL. I think this is what I struggled with most. There was a new book this semester so maybe they will have it fixed by next semester.
In my personal experience, this professor might not have the greatest people skills, but she really is a great teacher. Accounting was extremely difficult for me until I showed up and listened to her lectures. The notes I was able to take were very helpful for the homework. This professor has an excellent way of teaching the subject.
Took the class expecting to fail... Was pretty easy actually! Just make sure to be in class because you will get confused on at least one of the chapters.
She knows the subject very well. Good at explaining things most the time, but when asking a question on something you didn't quite understand, she has the tendency of making you feel stupid with the way she replies to you. Other than that she is a great teacher, and recommended for those who care to understand the subject as you leave the class.
I took the class online so I didnt have a lot of interaction with the instructor. However, if you had questions, she was quick to reply to emails. There was 1 assignment and 1quiz per week but, late work is not accepted.
It is very important to read the chapters in her class because she does a good job of explaining the problems and concepts but you do just have to jump right in, often before she explains anything
I got response on every email
tough, cant miss class or youll get behind
Neeley is a pretty chill teacher. The homework and tests are all completed on MAL (My Accounting Lab), but the good thing is that she goes over all the material related to the homework and tests in class. The class is definitely one you have to be willing to work hard at because the course material is slightly difficult though. Worthwhile class.
she is very nice. she like to group work at class, and she would like help us how do solve the question.
Interesting class. No easy grade but better for business student to learn the concept of accounting. Great teacher.
Great teacher. Very knowledgeable. Materialconcepts can be challenging.
she was good at explaining subjects, she is available to take appointments if you have any questions, and is willing to guide you through it.
You get tons of chances on the homework assignments. She drops your lowest quiz and homework. Funny. I would recommend her.
She is more friends and she made every comfortable in class. she provide learning to students to them prepare before class started. she is always willing to assisting any way possible.
Tammie is awesome! She really is a great teacher, be prepared to read and do my accounting lab. I would and am taking her again! :)
she is helpful but doesn't answer some questions very clearly.
Quizzes and tests due weekly. Exams spread throughout the course. Studying above homework is required to get an above average grade.
Tammie is great at explaining the material. Going to Is very helpful because you work on the homework problems during class. If you take a laptop or tablet to class you can basically finish the assignments during class then only have to take quizzes and tests outside of class. Also, I never bought the book and didn't feel it was necessary.
She is a very nice Professor and always offers help. My mistake was not asking as many questions as I should have in class, or making apointments with her so she can better describe a topic. Overall enjoyed her classs.. Be sure to study the material and keep up with the homework.
Tammy gives amazing lectures. Going to class is very helpful because you work on the homework problems during class. I would take her again and she can be funny sometimes :)
Great class, be sure to take the class requirements to heart. And stay up to date with readings. Really helpful teacher.
She's amazing at what she does
Tammie is very enthusiastic about the subject and she has a good knowledge about it. I really enjoyed her class
Possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. She was not helpful and extremely rude. She will not accept any late work even if there is a crisis in your family. Doesn't help in any situation and even when asked to clear ideas up she wont. Awful teacher.
Tammy is the worst teacher I have ever had. She is incredibly rude, and if you ask a question she treats you like you are an idiot. She complains when our grades are "too high". The tests do not give you nearly enough time to complete, so you end up failing the test, which she doesn't care if you fail. I've never had a professor that doesn't care.
Tough subject. Don't take online. Her expectations are clear but she doesn't always give the most clear explanations. Those complaining are probably the girls next to me that would gossip and text all class and then complain they were failing. Attendance isn't graded but you wont pass without coming and paying attention. I am taking her again.
Tammie is very rude and doesn't teach the material all that well. I'll be using a different professor for Spring semester.
Tammie was very knowledgable. Expectations and assignments are made very clear. She does not accept late work for any reason, but she does drop lowest test, quiz and homework score to make up for it. Not too much homework outside of the classroom, most is done in class. I would take her again.
She is a great teacher for an online class. The class itself is difficult no matter who you take it from, but she makes it straight forward.
She is one of the few professors that say things how they are, it might seem to be rude but all she does is set her expectations, which might be difficult for some. The key is to stay on track and take notes not just review the material. With this professor in order to pass you have to actually learn the material and not just memorize things.
This class has been extremely educational and yet pretty standard. If you do the homework as assigned testing isn't to bad.
This is a class where you really have to work for your grade. It makes it that much harder being an accelerated (8 week) online course. I recommend her to anyone who has to take ACCT 1110. She is a pretty understanding teacher when it comes to deadlines. However, if you can take a class with her in person, do it. Accounting is confusing enough.
Here's something that is not necessarily a bad thing, but for a full time college student, with a full-time job this class is rough unless you aren't taking other classes. I chose online to cater to my schedule, but you have to cater to the class schedule, and she does not accept any late work. Heads up.
I took the 8 week accelerated class and it was a very difficult. Do not expect to knock out the homework assignments in a couple of hours, they take time and you cannot hurry through it. Everything that she has communicated has been very clear and everything that is expected of you is laid out so there are no questions- which makes things great.
Very organized class. Some assignments in the class where not set up correctly at the beginning of the term but she remedied the problems quickly and there were no other issues after that.
I took the accelerated 8 week course. I usually spent about 6-7 hours a week total on homework, studying, quizzes and tests. It was all online, so that made some things a little more difficult but for me online classes are the way to go. Professor Neeley is a good communicator. No late work whatsoever so schedule out time blocks to get it done.
There is no review available for this class before you take tests. This course is 100% through Pearsons.
I took the accelerated 8 week online version. This course uses Pearson MyAccountingLab. The class is straight forward with each chapter consisting of a homework assignment and quiz. Additionally there are 4 Tests and one final. Professor Neeley does not accept late work for any reason. This was a positive for me as I'm prone to procrastination.
Expectations were crystal clear. The syllabus was very straightforward as were the assignments as part of the Pearson Lab material required for the course. I asked Tammie several questions about the course and questions I missed on quizzes and exams and she was very quick to respond and extremely helpful. I would take another class from her.
When I asked her questions via email, she was quick to respond, thoroughly explaining what I did wrong and how to fix it for next time. Very helpful.
This class was tough. It was about as hard as I expected. Tammie did a good job clearly expressing her no late policy at the beginning of the semester which was helpful for keeping on track but it was kind of stressful. If you don't procrastinate and can handle high stress than this might just be the course for you. (8 Week Accelerated Online)
This class is hard! Expect 6-8 hours a week of study time in MAL, otherwise you'll fail the tests and final. Midterm paper was graded low without feedback? If you work full time, have a family, or a full-time student; do not take this class, wait until you have a ton of extra time to dedicate to this course. Got an A but worked my butt off!
Good Class
Class is very organized. The no late work policy is REAL which can be very stressful if you are a full time student with a full time job. Besides that, everything about the class and Tammie are great. There are study guides for each chapters, exams and even final. Use them well, complete every assignment, quiz, exam on time and you will be fine.
As long as you get everything in on time you should be ok.
Teacher doesn't fully integrate class into canvas (due dates are only available in MAL), is too strict about arbitrary no late work policy given she doesn't respond to emails quickly, or pull the grades into canvas on a regular basis.
horrible teacher, she does not explain the material and she does not put grades on canvas so you have no clue what is your grade based on her calculation. would not recommend her at ALLL
Tammie is a great teacher if you want to go into Accounting. . This class has a lot of different concepts, so make sure to take good notes and to write the problem down as you try to solve it. Never used the textbook, but, I never struggled with this type of class. Most of the problems in class are literally homework problems out of the book.
I hate accounting and i has been one of my hardest subjects. I took Financial ACCT by a different professor and when I found Tammie for Managerial ACCT it as a blessing! She helps you, she wants you to pass and she makes it easier to understand! She is awesome!
Typical online class. The professor was never present. She sent one message throughout the whole semester. I don't expect announcements everyday or even every week but I would like acknowledgement that she exists, gives some feedback, and advise. I did however have a question and she answered within a day. Usual homework load and study time.
Total lack of instruction outside of the text. Course materials are disorganized and hard to find. Prof refers to "handouts" that are cryptically hidden on the website. Assigned test and homework during spring break. Very rigid with late work (in fact, the "no late work" policy is the only personalized instruction given).
You have to teach yourself the material from your book. All of your homework, quizzes and tests will be taken on the computer with drop down menus and the use of your book, but your final exam is handwritten with nothing to go off of. You won't hear from her the entire semester. She is no help at all. Worst class I have ever taken.
Super helpful! She arranged for me to take the final exam earlier since I was going to be out of town when the exam was suppose to take place! Great Professor!!
This class was online and accelerated into a 9 week class. That being said it didnt give me a lot of opportunity to get to know the prof. All home work, quizzes, and interim test were given online and you only really talk with her if you have extra question or things go wrong. I will say that she was always quick to respond when I reached out.
Very clear with whats expected from students. Excellent online course!
Very clear about what's expected from students.
8 week online accelerated course. The homework can be time consuming, but the course is set up in a way to help you succeed and get the most out of your study time.
Class was very difficult due to lack of lecture. Online course, so understandable. It was my first time taking and online class. The professor was fine, the online class just probably wasn't for me.
This was a more difficult choice for a class because I did the accelerated course, so I understand that would contribute to the level of difficulty. But this class was HARD! I did a fairly good job at keeping up on the work and even then, I worried that I wouldn't pass. The teacher does not accept late work, and has a slow to average response time.
Great professor, I loved the online course. You do have to be on top of it 1000% however, especially in the accelerated course. I unfortunately was not but thats on me, not the professor. Shes great.
I thought the assignments in this Acct. class were spread out perfectly for the 8 week course. It was a hard class but I liked how it was straightforward; assignment and a quiz at the end. There were no projects or group work which was amazing. It was somewhat hard to learn the material because there is absolutely no lecture.
Its online accounting so if your not sure about accounting I would suggest not to take this class online. You have to teach yourself pretty much and its hard.
Zero interaction with the professor which is what I was looking for. I took the 8 week course. A ton of work but not very difficult. Time consuming though.
One of the assignments was confusing and didn't show up on Calendar as being necessary. It was kind of confusing.
I took her Accounting 2010 class online, and I thought it was great! The course is structured around 12 chapters from the text book, and after each chapter there's HW and a quiz. Any questions I had were answered pretty quick through canvas inbox.
This class can be difficult, but if you are willing to put the work in then it's worth it.
Tammie answered any questions very quickly via email or Canvas message.
Always answered emails quickly
Took this as a half-semester class. Assignment and quiz heavy every week. Clear grading expectations and no late work policy is very cut and dry. Do the work and you'll get a good grade
Tammie responded to emails fairly quickly. You will not pass if you don't stay on top of your work, she does not accept late work, no exceptions. Pretty much what I expected from an online course, she will help you if you need it. Online textbook
This class could be quite hard if you don't put the time in. Tammie was clear on her expectations and as long as you do what is asked and put the time in then you get a decent grade. There were tons of resources.
She has a really great late work policy. She doesn't accept anything at all, but at the end of the semester she drops an assignment from every category. She's a great teacher and is very fair with her students.
She is straight forward - no late assignments!
Insane amount of work to complete for an online class especially if you are taking a full load or are a parent.
Insane amount of work for online class. I felt it was/is one of the most difficult online classes I've ever taken. I encourage you not to take this class online, unless you're already very familiar with Accounting and all of the formulas, etc. I spent hours and hours on this class. Worst online class I've ever taken. Caution.
She is one of my favorite instructors .I wish she could teach mores classes.
She was not a fair grader. Her grading system was all over the place. Her replies to emails were very vague.
I had a very good experience with this professor, even though I missed few classes in the semester. The professor was understandable and willing to help with the material questions. This class does need a lot of work and memorizing the concepts but if you put the effort into it you will pass.
This professor gave off a feeling of she is better than you because she is the professor. She is intimidating to ask questions to because of the way she makes you feel when you ask. I would look for another professor.
