For me, her teaching style doesn't stick in my mind very well. Others love her. Homework is optional. Take home quizzes. Detailed reviews. Gives partial credit on tests. Plus, she's just cool and STYLIN.

Just work on your stuff and pass!

Overall she shows you the most simple way of learning calculus. But, being in an 8 week course - this was learning a mile a minute. Overall she grades fairly and helps all the time. Calculus is hard and sometimes she forgets we are new to the subject.

Great teacher! I'm not great at math & I got an A! She makes it easy to learn & shows tricks to solve probs easily. 4 exams (4th replaces lowest of 1st 3) & 7 quizzes (lowest 2 dropped). HW not mandatory but helps. I find her way of solving probs easier than the book. Her test reviews are more helpful than the HW, esp for the last half of semester.

I'm not the best at math and made a B. Her teaching style is crystal clear. She wants all of her students to pass and will do all she can to make sure you understand. Her test reviews are great tools to get you though the test. She is a fox, so if you are easily distracted, take a different professor.

Tammy is THEE BEST teacher you could ever want to take for any mathematics course. She is so friendly, sweet and VERY VERY HELPFUL AND SMART. She will go out of her way to make sure that you understand. As long as you do your quizzes and ask her for help with them you will get an A. TAKE THIS TEACHER, you won't regret it.

Absolutely the best Math teacher! I wish she could teach every math class I need but she helps recommend teachers to take for other math classes. She is passionate about math and it's fun hearing about how she views the world through it. Extremely helpful. I wish there were more teachers like her.

Im not so good at math, which is why i took math for liberal arts and not college algebra but finished class with 102%. Great teacher. Ask questions and she will explain without making you feel stupid. She has plenty of office horus and no matter how trivial your question may be she will answer with enthusiasm and no judgement. I had over 100% in the class for awhile because she gives easy extra credit on tests and quizzes. CHOOSE HER FOR MATH!

Best math professor I've ever had! She makes everything so easy, and she explains things in "real talk". She doesn't make people feel dumb if they ask simple questions, and she's funny. Class consists of quizzes (lowest 2 dropped) and 4 exams + final (lowest exam dropped in lieu of final). Gives reviews, too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! <3

Great teacher: )!!! Took this class online,as long as you got your work done by the due dates, there is no problems. She has a good set of resourses for this math class, and good would communication and prompt grading.. I would definitely reccomend taking her class!!!!

Took it online during the spring semester and it is a super easy class! She's helpful when you contact her with questions and everything it's really organized. If you turn in stuff before the due date, I would say you should do good. :)

Prof Bevins is an amazing math professor. She makes calculus look like basic arithmetic and gets you to the same level. You can't help but pay attention in her class be cause she is very charismatic. Over all great person and educator. I highly recommend her for MAC2233!

I took her last semester for Business Calculus and she was just AMAZING you leave the classroom understanding everything. If you are confused on something she will take the time to help you understand it. To be honest my goal was to get a C BUT with her amazing teaching skills I ended up with an A in her class.

I took this class online. VERY EASY. The class was organized & very clear on what was expected from you. As long as you read the power points, you could pass anything. 1 open book test. 3 on campus. 2 projects. She e-mails back within an hour. I hate math but this class made it bearable & I got an A!

Awesome professor! I retook this class after taking a year off because of a bad semester and my goal was to get a 'C' which I managed to do with working 16 hr shifts. She is very helpful and explains everything well in class. She is hilarious and definitely knows her math! She genuinely cares about her students and them doing well in future classes

Took MGF 1106 online. Very easy and organized. She gave review sheets for all the test. The actual test are easy , especially if you complete the review. Just make sure to turn do all HW and quiz assignments on time. Great teacher.

Awesome teacher! She loves math and will help any student understand it. Her office door is almost always open, and there's usually a line! There are 4 exams and a final; final can replace low exam score. Also gives take home tests periodically, which forces you to read the chapters and do the homework.

I barely scraped by College Algebra w/ a C, so I knew Calc would be tough. I could not have asked for a better teacher. She is ALWAYS there to go the extra mile to help students out. Grading Scale - 60% Tests (drops lowest), 10% Quizes (all take home), 15% Homework, 15% Mandatory Final.

Ms. Bevins is a great teacher She knows her subject and has a great personality. I can tell you that the material is HARD. So be prepared. Jumping from College Algebra to Calc is brutal. Unless you have had any Calc or Pre-Calc classes before, plan on studying many hours outside of class. I passed with a C but I earned it. I Highly recommend her.

Mrs Blevins is phenomenal. Anyone who complains is lazy. Her class is simple. Go to class, pay full attention, take notes, and do the review a few times before the test. I got high As on every test just by doing the review a few times the night before. She's passionate and teaches well. If you put the effort into it. It's an easy A.

She is super nice but really confusing. She tends to go kind of fast but she is more than willing to help you any way she can. The homework is bull crap but its not her fault, its a requirement for all college algebra classes. You have to show up though or you'll be lost.

there's not much to say because math classes are all the same in terms of structure and grading. but she teaches really well (read: clearly) and is very nice and helpful. also, she's unbelievably hot. i'm not really into white girls, but my god...... she's like 40 but hnnnnghhh... some lectures i'd just stare at her and learn the material at home

Instructor Bevins is very easy to work with. As long as you speak with her she is willing to work with you and help each student as they need to help them pass. Math is not my best subject and she has made my life a bit easier in helping me anyway she can. I would recommend this class

I have always struggled in math but there were 3 test, & 2 projects besides the online homework test & quizzes. She always replied to emails quickly and she was very helpful. She was just amazing. You will not be disappointed.

For an online math class this was great. She is helpful if you need anything but otherwise you are on your own. The midterm and final are proctored on campus but she gives an evening option if you work so it was ok.

Mrs. Barker, previously Mrs. Bevins is an amazing teacher. She explains everything clearly. Give partial credit on test. I took her to College Algebra and Pre Calc. Both classes I got an A in. She is a phenomenal teacher! I would recommend her to anyone. You are not graded on attendance, but if you miss class it is hard to keep up.

Professor Bevins is Great! She does everything in her power to ensure that you do well in her class. This includes dropping your lowest test grade and giving you ample time to complete homework. She makes everything clear for the students. If you cannot pass her calculus class then you should consider finding a new major!

This class was very easy to take. I'm not great at math, either. If you show up, take notes and pay attention you will pass. Very lenient, she WANTS everyone to pass. Likeable, easy to understand. If you need help, you must ask, and she's more than willing to explain. Assignments were very easy, tests as well. Very happy with this professor.

Great professor that will work with you on obtaining the highest grade possible. She will drop the lowest test grade, quiz grade, and gives extra time to complete past due homework. Going to class for the lecture is a must.

Professor Barker is a great professor, she was clear with her assignments, provided plenty of material to review and the answers of the review to study before taking the midterm and final, she also includes powerpoints to help with homework, and gives very little work for the semester compared to other math classes I have taken.

Great teacher, highly recomend her to anyone looking for Business Calc or any math class. Not an easy class by any means but if you don't miss any classes, pay attention, and take notes you'll set yourself up to pass. Do and study the exam reviews and you'll do great on the tests. If I had done all the Homework I would have gotten an A.

Professor Barker is the absolute best. Math is not my best subject but she is very patient and explains until you understand. If you fail it's because you did not come to class and do your hmework. She bends over backwards and gives make up classwk. Whatever math class I take as long as she is teaching it I will be there. Took MGF1107 with her too

One of the best professors at HCC. Presents material clearly and makes it very interesting. Gives good reviews so that you know exactly what will be on the tests. Also very funny and keeps the class light and entertained.

I went back to school as an adult (34). Calculus was the most intimidating subject I will ever take. Professor Barker teaches to the "A" students just as well as the "C-" students. She gives extra credit, and even allows you to be late with home work (modest 5% penalty). If you are NOT a math person, practice her test reviews and do homework!

As long as you do the class work, you should pass with no problem. She gives a lot of different ways to learn the subject matter. She keeps you up to date with any changes and replies back to emails quickly. I would take her again if I ever needed another math class.

Mrs. Barker is the best!!! 4 test and a cumulative final (can replace lowest test grade). Drops lowest hw, quiz and test. Quizzes are also take home. Sweetest lady ever and so understanding. She's pretty light on hw load. Do hw, it's worth a test grade. I was so scared to take calc and she made it so easy for me!! I got an A! Wish she taught stats

I took this class online and it was the best decision I have made. I would highly recommend taking this class online with her. The only test are a Mid term, Finance test, and final.

Would Recommend 10/10. She explains material well, and teaches you the fast way to do stuff in your calculator. Homework is on MyMathLab, and also hands out worksheets to do between classes. There are 2 Projects, Finance and Voting Theory. There are 4 Tests with an optional final, to replace lowest test score.

Take her. Very helpful! The material is easy , and i have not done math in a long time. Keep up with Mymathlab. Do the worksheets. Her study guides are same as each test, different wordings/ numbers. She's very nice. No reason to not get an A or B.

Mrs. Barker is the best math teacher I have ever taken, she's such a sweetheart and she's very understanding. She's pretty too! 4 tests, and a final, she's light on HW and she does take home quizzes. Mrs. Bevins-Barker is a great math professor!! I have always had a very hard time in every math class I've taken and this was completely different. Even though the class was online Prof. Bevins-Barker still added her own powerpoints to each section for more help & emailed updates on assignments and exams. Mid term and Final are on campus. Take her!

She is an amazing online instructor. She sets up her students to succeed. All of the tools are given to you, she goes above and beyond to make sure you have multiple resources for different learning styles & responds quickly to emails. As long as you put the work in you will pass. She is phenomenal. I wish I could have her for all my classes.

Mrs. Barker is an amazing math professor! She gives lectures at a steady pace and explains concepts in ways that are easy to understand relating to real world applications. Attendance for class isn't mandatory but there are in class assignments that get put towards your final grade. Definitely would recommend taking one of her classes if you can.

Super great professor. It's been awhile since I've done math but this was a very doable accelerated 8 week class. She's hot and funny and wears great shoes! You do have to study if math isn't your thing but she is accessible and had a great teaching style. Does have in class work so don't skip.

Mrs. Barker is extremely nice. I took her 8 week course recently. I've always struggled with math but she truly is a great professor who is willing to help you if you don't understand a problem. Our class had a mid term and final. A few online assignments usually 7 questions and as well as in class work sheets. Easy grade.

Do you home work and watch her videos and you'll be golden.

Mrs. Barker is awesome! No textbook, and no my mathlab! She does worksheets in class to help your grade, but there is no homework! Makes the subject so easy to understand, and always relates things to real situations in life where we could use it. She's really caring and always ready to help you!

Good online class, one of the only professors so far that has recorded lectures & PowerPoints! Class was a little awkward to find what to do but not bad. She likes to keep everyone involved with a discussion online about the current chapter. She also gives feedback in the grading section about what and why something was incorrect.

There's 5 assignments (kinda like quizzes), a midterm and a final, and homework due twice a week. I never felt overwhelmed in this class. Best online math class ever! Would recommended! Everything was easy because she explains the sections well. You have to have access to MyMathLab btw. She replies quickly to emails and is super helpful too!

There's 4 assignments, 4 tests and also a couple of in class worksheets. I found everything easy, which is shocking because I'm terrible at math. I got A's on all my tests. Her lectures explain everything and her exam reviews are like the test. I would recommend! She's helpful and sweet too! I wish I could take another class with her! Love her! :)

Took her for my first ever math class online and was very nervous going into it. She is very helpful and uses many tools to help you understand the material with power points and practice quizzes. Only a midterm and a final required in person. She responds very quickly to emails. I am taking her again next semester for MGF 1107.

We had an especially difficult situation to come into as she was our third professor in the ten weeks due to illness. She took control and made sure we were prepared.

Professor Barker was absolutely amazing! Patient and understanding and willing to give insightful feedback. You can tell she really is there to help her students learn and not just to earn a paycheck. I'm actually taking her again this semester because I enjoyed her so much. Math is not my subject, but she makes it maintainable.

I think she's great. My class had it really rough because she was the third professor to fill in for a ten week course. Our original professor was sick and couldn't return. She did great with what little time she had left. She really cares. Unfortunately, I didn't make it. But I would take her again and hope the circumstances were different.

You have to do the homework and should do the reviews and videos, but as long as you do that, you're fine. I got a 100 on the final.

Mrs. Barker's class was set up super easy and she had tons of resources for lessons. She uploads her lectures via video and PowerPoint and the homeworks are super easy and you can redo each question as many times as you'd like. I missed the deadline on one of the biggest assignments of the semester and she understood and let me submit it a day late

Professor Barker is an awesome professor! I am terrible at math and passed with a B. If you keep up with the homework, the class is definitely passable. There is a proctored midterm and final exam. Also, her lectures and study guides are very helpful. I highly recommend!

I suck at math but she made it understandable. My class was all online so there was lots of homework to do. If you do her study guide for the mid term and final then you will pass the class with ease.

I'm terrible at math and I passed this class with an A. The course is completely online with the exception of the Midterm and Final that are required to be taken in person. Watch the videos, do your homework and do her reviews for the tests and you'll be fine.

Professor Barker is hands down the best professor! I took her for both MGF 1106 and 1107 and got an A in both classes. There is no reason not to get 100's on every assignment, you have multipule tries. Watch the videos, do the reviews for the Mid Term and Final, and do the homework 2x a week. Easy Class.

She is amazing and really cares for the students. i took her online class. I'm horrible at math. I passed the class with a C , do you homework, and the study guides. You will do well in the class.

I do't like math at all, although, if I had Professor Barker growing up, I'd prob. have a much better relationshop with math today. This was my first online course, but she lays everything out in a easy to use/understand manner, it wasn't as difficult as I had thought. She is very caring and easy to work with, but be prepared to put work in.

I'm not a math person at all, but she gave us a clear grading criteria for everything throughout the semester. I took this course online and I'm glad I did. Alot of homework and five quizzes through MyMathLab, but she gives us extra credit with discussions on Canvas. She gave us study guides for the MidTerm and Final exams. Overall, I recommend!

She's funny and very relatable. I really liked that she was able to relate MATH to the Real World! Most teachers don't do that so it helps you understand it better she goes in-depth for those who need it but she isn't slow that you lose focus. One of the best math teachers I've ever had.

She is one of the best professors to take with in HCC, just show up and study the review for the test and you get an easy A. Also her quizes are take home.

This class was online for me. The homework is on Pearson which I hate and is due twice a week. Her lecture videos werent too long and to the point which I appreciated. She was responsive to messages and even was kind enough to do an in class review for the final which saved me. I suck at math but made it out with a B. If I can so can you.

I HATE math, but this teacher is amazing. She truly goes above and beyond. I took this online, and she tailors the whole course to making it as easy to understand as possible, using recorded videos and examples. She also takes extra time to personally grade big tests just in case there's anywhere she could give extra points. Highly recommend!

Hated math before and had a fear of taking another math class thinking I wouldn't pass but Prof. Barker makes math relatable and not complicated. Her class is super easy and fun, you learn a lot from her lectures.

Professor Barker has to be one of the most hardworking professors I have ever had. You can tell she really wants her students to pass and tries her best to help you. I was not a fan of math at all, she made it comfortable for me. She was willing to help me each and every time. She is the most caring person I had a bad accident I was ready to drop the class. She wouldn't let me give up on myself, and she saw my potential when I doubted myself. Passing math is something I thought I will never do but I did.

Although I took Professor Bevins-Barker's class online, I was able to get all the help and instruction I needed to ace the course. She provides very helpful PowerPoint presentations that clearly breaks down every step of the problems we need to learn. I highly recommend her as she is passionate about math and cares about her students!
