She is one of the best professors i have had in my whole college experience.

an amazing professor. she really likes what she does and the way she teaches is just so understandable. She is always ready to help.

Had this prof two yrs ago; I have since transerred and graduated from UCSB and I will so with no hesitation that she was the best prof I ever had in college.

Mrs. DiBenedetto is the coolest english teacher that I have had. She makes the class interesting and fun, if you have a question about anything she is more than happy to help. If you read, pay attention in class, and participate you will be fine.

Outstanding. Took Prof. DiBenedetto a few years ago, before transferring to UCSB to major in English. She's a tough grader but extremely helpful. Thanks to her, all my English classes at UCSB have been cake. Her class changes the way you see the world. She's also nice to look at, a quality not to be overlooked when taking a 6:50 a.m. class.

Prof. DiBenedetto is amazing. For a 7 a.m. class it was a lot of fun. She teaches modern day topics and really makes you look at the world differently. Be prepared to write a lot but she is willing to help out along the way. I would definitly take her if you have the chance.

FANTASTIC!! I learned more in her writing class than in all my previous writing classes combined. I'm in Eng 1B now and getting A's on all my papers. Dr. DiBenedetto is a hard grader but very helpful. If you want an easy A, stay away. If you want to learn, take her.

Dr. DiBenedetto is a great teacher because she encourages discussion and never makes a student feel bad. Nor does she pander to the dumb things kids might say. She's very intelligent and this was a great class! Highly recommended!

Tammy is the sweetest, most helpful professor that I've ever had and she's SUPER smart. I have to take Early American Lit for major requirements. I HATE American Lit with a passion. Her class was my favorite this semester and I fully intend on taking every one of the classes that she's teaching next semester. I give her an A++++!

Great Class. I took this online, it is a lot of work, but try to read ahead, it will come in handy! She is in the English lab like all the time so you can get help there!

Tammy is an extremely nice lady who is genuinely interested in her students learning. She gives a lot of reading and the workload is actually heavier than an upper-division university course. Nevertheless, you gain a good understanding of the literature from the time period you are studying. Recommended if you like to learn!

Dibenedetto is seriously what everyone should look for in a professor. Not only is she super helpful, but unlike a lot of teachers she is passionate about her job and is always willing to help when you need it. Take a class with her, you won't regret it.

Tammy is awesome. The rating below mine is correct! She's an incredible professor and I learned so much from her. Be careful though, 1st half of class there aren't many pop quizzes, 2nd half there are a ton. She's hard, but worth it.

DiBenedetto's Eng-1B class is definitely not an easy A. I took her 8 week class and it was a challenge but also very possible if you attend class and participate in the lectures. She is extremely helpful and only wants her students to succeed. I hate literature, but her class made it somewhat fun and some of the material was enjoyable. Take her!

Great teacher! She has a positive attitude and more than willing to answer questions. There is A LOT of work and lots of writing, but well worth taking! I will definitely take her English 1B course this Fall.

Tammy is a gem. She is pushes you outside of comfort levels only to help you improve. There is alot of work in this class but again, well worth it!

She gives alot of work but all of it helps to build your writing skills and write a beautiful paper. Attend the writing workshops in class to get full credit on your papers. Great teacher and will answer any question. Very approacable.

She does not like it when students are tardy, text while she is speaking or who come back late from break.She is very helpful and answers her emails. If the majority of class does not do an assignment and have them ready per syllabus she will punish the entire class with more essays. Overall I would take another class with her.

Yes she is a tough grader, but it pushes you to do better, (you are, however, in college for a reason). I really appreciated how honest she was with my paper. Even though english is not my major, I would enjoy taking another class with her. I've learned more from this english teacher then any others in the past.

Absolutely the best English professor I have ever had. She's going to ask you to do a lot of work, but it's all for a good reason. Do the work, pay attention, and ask for help and you'll do well. I'm just disappointed she won't be teaching Eng 1A the semester I need to take it. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Debenedetto was definitely a tough teacher as far as work load and paper critiques, but she knows her stuff. You have to be a committed student to pull through her class. Overall she was helpful and nice (most of the time.) You will learn to write a great paper if you listen to what she tells you. I stressed, but pulled off an A.

Read the syllabus! Take notes on the sections she gives you. Very easy and helpful. At first she seemed rude and irritated with me, but when you ask her for help, she opens up and is easy to get along with. At the end of the semester, she let's you revise old essays. It's easy if you're focused! I got a B because i missed a lot of class.

She is tough, but really great teacher. If you want an easy 'A', don't take this class. You have to work for your grade.

Great class, lots of work but not too overwhelming, as long as you participate in class and take her up on her offer to meet with her in lab and in her office for help on assignments. The best part is thanks to what I learned in this class and Dr. DiBenedetto's encouragement, my proposal essay was published. Feels good to be a 'real' writer!

Best teacher ever. i got an "A" in her class and all because i did good on my essays. she would even give me extra credit on them which would help since i failed all her quizzes and was late every day. Nice teacher and hope to take her again.

Dr. D is absolutely amazing, the best professor I've had at RCC so far. She's nice, engaging, helpful, and truly wants to see her students succeed.

Great professor! The class is demanding but that is to be expected for a higher level English course. Dr. D. Is honest and rewards students for improvement not perfection. I loved her class.

This professor is my favorite teaher I have ever had. I can't say eough about how much she cares about her students. She is always willing to help and explain or go over something you may not understand. The class is easy because she teaches material so well and clearly. If you want to learn a lot and still get an A this is the teacher for you.

Outstanding teacher. She's clear about expectations, explains the material well, and is an extremely approachable person. Also, there's extra credit for never being absent. Oh and as if the extra credit wasn't enough she's gorgeous too so even more incentive to come to class. Can't recommend her enough!

I love her! She is definitely not an easy grader, but you learn A LOT in her class. I was scared coming into her class, from reading her reviews, BUT she's very helpful and makes things pretty clear. I received very low grades on my out-of-class essays, but I managed to ace in-class essays and tests, so I got a B in the class. You need to take her!

Very hard grader! She expects you to memorize all your stories literally word for word for the quizzes and tests. HW load can be overwhelming, since assignments were due every class meeting, including essays and reading a few short stories. She's nice, but she constantly gave some of the class low grades. Critical thinking does improve.

Really cool teacher. As someone who was into sports in high school and not much academic wise, although I had to put in the work for this class it was worthwhile. She is a hard grader but if you do the work she will help you out. The work can be overbearing as long as the papers but if you go in with the right attitude you'll pass.

Dr. D is one of the most important professor that I have had before, she is amazing while teaching. But be prepared, this is a University English class, so do your best because the class is so intense. She is just wonderful. I was blessed to have her as a professor :-)

DiBenedetto is one of the best professors I had at RCC. To pass her class you must do the work, but you will learn much in her class. I never felt that she didn't care. If you need help she gives her office times. If you aren't motivated to be in school then don't take this teacher, you will not pass.

One of the few RCC instructors that could easily teach at a university. It is impossible to fake in her class, but if you actually do what's required, you will leave with a lasting understanding of Critical Thinking. Highly Recommended.

An amazing and hard-working teacher. She seems strict and rude at first, but it's just to intimidate you. Don't be afraid to ask questions and grab all the extra credit you can. Read what is assigned and don't disrespect her. It's not an easy A, but you will learn something in her class. She will make you work for it.

Lot's of reading, and tests on most of the things you read. Somewhat tough on essays, really demanding that you know grammar and spelling. Her class isn't a walk on the beach, but she really likes to get everyone thinking and participating. Don't skip class or be late, it'll help a few points. She's relaxed, but can also be strict when needed

I took Kearn for ENG50, 1A, & 1B. She comes off as intimidating, but she's extremely helpful and warms up to you once she sees that you are a hard worker. If you want an easy A, don't take her class. She is going to give you skills that will promise As on all other papers in future courses.

This is the best professor I have encountered so far. She is an incredible instructor. You do have to work for it, but hey isn't that the point. A+++++++

Took her for creative writing. Loved the class, but it's my major. She's has a lot to say and knows the subject well. You have to work and actually try in this class. A lot of people dropped out halfway through. She's strict and maybe intimidating, but she's fun. Some extra credit; take it. Wish I could've taken more classes from her.

Dr. Kearn was a bit intimidating during first few classes. I had a hybrid class with her and her workload was consistent throughout the semester. She was easy to reach outside of class and expects you to be in class. As she doesn't allow late or make-up work. I got an A in her class, but I worked my butt off for it. I would take her again.

I really enjoyed this class for one specific reason, and that is that Dr. Kearn teaches the process of critical thinking that is translatable to most any subject. Learning how to best study something by removing yourself completely and to study objectively is invaluable. Dr. Kearn also includes lots of activities & makes class fun.

Dr. Kearn is one of the most amazing professors I have ever had. She shows a deep care for her students and shows a love and passion for what she teaches. She assigns a lot of work for her students, but with lots of dedication it is very doable. Without a doubt, I would take her again.

Mrs. Kearn is a great english teacher and willing to help you succeed in the class. She is avaliable after school as well just in case you didnt understand something she will do her best to explain it to you. I took her for english 80. books are mandatory.

She genuinely cares and wants you to succeed in her class. If you ever have any questions, she's there to help you. She will go above and beyond for you. She ended up writing me a letter of recommendation for a scholarship which helped me attend UCLA. If you get a chance, take one of her courses. You won't regret it.

Dr. Kearn is wonderful. I took her winter Eng. 1B course and passed with an A. She assigns LOTS of reading, so keep up with it and youll do well on the pop-quizzes and in-class discussions. Shes a very caring and understanding woman who genuinely wants to help her students succeed. Would definitely take her again and highly recommend!

Great teacher. I started my college career in English 60, in my second year I am in her 1A class getting A's on all my papers and assignments. She gives the best feedback and marks fair. Don't miss a class and you will get extra credit, hand in all assignments and essays on time and you will do great.

Dr. Kearn is a marvel of a professor. If you put in the work and demonstrate an interest in what you do in her class, she will go above and beyond in helping you succeed. She is one of those rare professors that a student will forge a deep and lasting bond with for the rest of their lives. She really makes you develop a sense of innate thinking.

One of the BEST English teachers! She understands mental health needs and if we need to skip class to take a break or get other work done. She is so sweet and caring. She helped me get resources for issues outside of class and always checked up. HIGHLY recommend her!

Dr. Kearn was an excellent teacher. She is passionate about the subject and the success of her students. She gives extensive feedback on every essay, to ensure that you know what you did poor or well. Taking the class in Winter was difficult as the time crunch loaded on a lot of homework and outside reading. Do the work and you will succeed!

Dr. Kearn has given me advice that I will carry into the rest of my schooling! She gives INCREDIBLY detailed feedback for every assignment and is extremely attentive. She is the definition of what a professor should be. She gives you every single tool you could possibly need to succeed. And she is super buff and awesome.

Took her in Spring 20. If you are serious about your education take her. There is a lot of work but she has a clear grading rubric. Participation is mandatory and expected. One of the hardest classes I have taken in college, this is due to all the assignments. I got pushed out my comfort zone and walked away with more confidence because of this.

Love Dr. Kearn so much! This is a professor who really cares about her students and is very understanding. As long as you do your work you'll be fine. Would definitely take her class again!

Professor Kearn is AMAZING! Easily one of the most entertaining and educated teachers I've had my freshman year. She is absolutely passionate about everything that she does, and it shows in all her lectures and assignments. Be prepared to back up your claims and essays with tons of evidence. Would take her again!

Dr. Kearn is the BEST professor I ever had. Vibrant and passionate, she made me wiser - teaching me to think more clearly and critically about everything. You must do all the reading, THINK, and complete all the assignments, but she cares and will do everything to help you if you do. I wish all my professors were like her. Dr Kearn is a gem!

Keep in mind that most people take this course if they have a fetish for female muscle. There's no other point other than to get their rocks off. She likes to pump her arms up while we wait for her to give a lecture. Then she'll ask a volunteer to give her PECS an oil rub. Boy, that was unforgettable! Needless to say, I had to change my boxers!!!
