Amazing teacher. You do have to go to class because she covers parts the textbook doesn't cover. She'll also tell stories about her kids that relate to psychology so class is fun and interesting. If she assigns a reading from Hock, expect a pop quiz the next class. Take notes from modules, those would be on the exam.
Very easy class. go to class take notes and do pop quizzes on the readings(6total) her exams are harder than you expect, her study guide is not in depth enough, asks random obscure questions from online book. Overall didn't really enjoy this class but many other do. Theres no reason not to get an A in her class she makes in very easy.
Favorite class i've taken at UMass. Tammy makes it so interesting and I'm a huge class skipper but never felt the need to skip this class. If you show up and pay attention/take minimal notes you will easily get an A. would 10/10 recommend.
really funny lecturer and really connects with her students. likes to tell stories from her life that relate to the lesson. 6 "pop" quizzes because she almost always hints at it in the previous class. tests aren't too hard as long as you go to class and keep up with the readings. weekly online quizzes, don't forget about them
Nice professor who somehow makes psychology interesting at 9 in the morning. She gives you hands on examples of the material she teaches through personal stories to live demonstration, really helping you memorize the information. Loads of extra credit, but you honestly don't need it as long as you attend class and study.
She's really funny and a great lecturer. Easy class if you try even a little bit.
Great professor who really teaches the material well. Go to class to take the outlined notes but remember to print them out first and go to review sessions because the answers to the test are basically given there. Skim the mini book because the pop quiz will come directly! Easy A
Great teacher that's super engaging and loves what she does. Very easy, straight forward tests, she only counts the top 3/4 tests. If you do well on the first 3, you don't need to go to the last quarter and still get an A. Class notes are not posted, must take notes in class.
Very easy, fun, and interesting class. Tammy is a great professor and makes it SUPER easy to get an A.
I looove Tammy she's a great fun teacher. Engages her students and gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit and makes it easy to get an A in her class. She drops lowest test and quiz scores.
Her lectures are very engaging and always incorporates the class in her lecture. Go! Because she has 10 pop quizzes in total throughout the semester. She drops the lowest test grade, two lowest quizzes, and one pop quiz. Review sessions are helpful but not necessary. Read the textbook and you will do great.
I found this class relatively difficult. The extra credit and pop quizzes were fine, but if you only study with the study guide you won't do well on the exams. There is a lot of info on them not included in the study guide. Not much homework and entertaining, it is more the exams that caused me issues.
Tammy was an amazing teacher and I always found myself actually listening to what she had to say and being generally interested in a class I took as a simple gen ed. There were short readings about once or twice a week that she would pop quiz on 50% of the time.
She makes lectures very entertaining and interesting--I loved learning from her. Go to her lectures!! Take notes and you'll be fine. I read the textbook in the beginning of the sem, but honestly it's not that necessary: just skim each chapter and make sure to review with each end of ch. review section (with vocab and basic concepts summarized).
Rahhal is an amazing professor. She makes the lectures very interesting and explains everything in detail. She gives examples during class and uses students as "experiments" which is fun. Exams are pretty straight forward as long as you study.
She gives four exams and drops your lowest one and none of them are cumulative. If you actually show up, do the readings (for the most part), and put in some kind of effort you will do fine. She knows what she's talking about, she gets students to participate even when there's 500 of us, and her lectures are interesting. Take it with Tammy!
Really kind, approachable, and understanding. The exams are fair, and the review sessions and study guides are pretty thorough. Even if you don't have any interest in becoming a psych major or minor, I bet you will after taking Tammy's class.
Tammy is amazing, I love her lectures. She makes them fun. There 4 exams, but if you do good on the first 3 you don't have to take the final. Weekly homework quizzes online, they're pretty easy. She dropped the lowest exam and quiz grade. There's plenty of extra credit opportunities. You'll learn a lot from her class.
Best professor I have had! There are four tests (no final), and she drops the lowest test score. You have to go to class since sometimes there are writing assignments on the readings done for HW. Overall, online homework is easy, can do extra credit, and an easy A.
Tammy was one of the best professors I had during my first year at UMass. Her lectures are interesting and she posts all the slides online. Even in a 500 person lecture she was able to make the content fun and cracks a lot of jokes. Tests were easy and non cumulative, and she drops your lowest score. Definitely recommend taking a class with Tammy!
By far the best professor I've ever had. She is caring and always shares stories about her life to make the class engaging. She gives extra credit and drowse the lowest test grade which essentially makes the final exam optional. Honestly shes the best hands down. Would definitely take her again.
This is my favorite class that I've taken so far. She really wants students to do well in her class. As long as you do the readings and show up to class, you'll do great. She has 6 SWAs at random, so show up and do the assigned readings. She shares personal stories that help solidify the information she teaches. Highly recommend.
This was my only asynchronous class this semester, and I still loved it. Tammy's lectures are fun to watch, and she gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Her quizzes and writing assignments are easy, and the final is optional if you are happy with your grade. Def recommend taking a class with her
Love Tammy! You can truly tell how passionate she is about her work and her students. Took this class online due to COVID and she used pre-recorded echo360 lectures which were very engaging bc theres students interacting and asking questions. Exams are very straightforward and she communicates everything you need to know, easy assignments each week
Prof Rahhal is great! I took this class remotely during the pandemic, but she set the class up so its easily understood and manageable. If you read the textbook and watch the lectures weekly, its an easy A!
Tammy is the best! I took her Psych100 class and if I didn't switch majors would def take another one of her courses. You can attend lecture via in person or zoom and they are also all recorded and posted to Moodle. Very interesting class. LOTS of extra credit & you can drop lowest exam grade. Weekly quizzes & just need to read to be ready for exam
she's funny, lectures are easy to understand, and u can even do it on zoom and still get participation credit. 4 mc tests (lowest gets dropped) on moodle, final exam, connect quizzes & short writings but the last 2 are rly easy. very engaging where she tells personal stories and interacts with students to make it interesting!
Very low stress! Lectures are interesting and she tells funny stories. She allowed us to take all our exams online. There are 4 exams and no final. If you get a good grade on the first 3 you don't have to show up to class anymore as you are allowed to drop your worst exam grade. Homework is easy and even a couple of those can be dropped as well.
Tammy makes her lectures entertaining by having lots of participation and real-world examples. She is a great and caring professor and knows what she's talking about. The content is pretty straight forward as long as you pay attention.
VERY GOOD PROF! She is funny, her exams are not hard as long as you study adequately for them. The material you learn is exactly what is in the lectures and book. A lot of reading sometimes because some of the reading is in the exam but her lectures are very entertaining and she knows how to teach. I am a freshmen and this one of the easiest classe
This is an easy class. She is the best and makes the content super fun. Lectures are optional but I learned the content best from them (also she makes them super fun and engaging).
Tammy is AMAZING. She is super nice and her lectures are really entertaining. You definitely need to read the textbook when she gives you the readings because a lot of the exams have information from the textbook and the lectures. Not a difficult class, but you need to do the weekly short writing assignments and modules.
Tammy is great! I love her class. I had to take this class to start my track as a psych minor, which is why I got no credit for it. But Tammy makes things easy to understand and is very interactive with her students. The class was easy, but the tests could be a bit challenging.
Tammy was so great! Her lectures were interesting and she always had class participation and used personal stories to help students understand the topics. Lecture was important and taking notes was a must. Super structured course with not a ton of work, exams were tricky but pay attention and you pass. Recommend this to anyone interested in psych!
Loved her! Really easy class that's very interesting. She's great at making the material interesting and applicable, and is always giving real life examples. Exams are online but you have to be on Zoom during it bc they're not "open note". Kind of a lot of reading bc the reading material will be on the exams. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
She is a great professor. She is engaging, and she makes me want to attend the lectures. The class is pretty easy as long as you go to lectures and read.
Tammy is super easygoing; she makes everything interesting in class. You don't even have to show up to lectures, she lets you zoom into every class if you wanted. The tests are slightly difficult, but multiple choice and online. There are only 2 assignments a week, plus some reading. She is super helpful and I would take her over and over again!
Excellent teacher with interesting lectures. She is super flexible and allows students to zoom in and watch lectures on their own time. There were 4 exams, all online, lowest one dropped. 10 online quizzes that follow an activity that gets rounded up to either 5s or 10s. And 6 short writing responses, the lowest drop. $60 book that has readings.
Awesome class. Very engaging lectures. Could view lectures through zoom which was awesome. Comprehensive slides. HW is super easy as long as you do it on time. Tests aren't bad as long as you take notes.
Tests can be frustrating, they're multiple choice closed note and test on things that feel unimportant, but everything else is open note. Prof. Rahhal herself is great, she's friendly, and she's got lots of TAs who can help out. Classes often involve demos or fun anecdotes. Offers extra credit. Go to office hours! I LOVED Prof. Rahhal's class
Professor Rahhal is amazing. She explains the topics of the course very well and does demonstrations and activities in class that help you understand the topics in more depth. Her study guides are great when reviewing for tests and she makes it easy to contact her about questions.
She likes to teach using many example experiments, she is also extremely engaged with the class. Tammy is awsome. Her class is easy as long as you do the work and go to class, which isn't much. If I could I would take psychology 100 again.
Probably my favorite class I've ever taken at UMass. Prof Rahhal is an amazing lecturer - SO engaging and uses so many funny & helpful examples to explain material, and in class demos. Has lots of TAs it's easy to get help if needed. Exams are straight forward. Go to class and you'll do well. The study guides help a lot. SWAs are also easy.
Super great prof! She does assign a lot of module reading and textbook reading, but do the work because it shows up again on your quizzes and your SWAs (writing assignments). All quizzes and exams are online which is super helpful. She offered a zoom call for my section, which is nice if your sick, but go to class she does live participation.
I loved Prof Rahhal! She relates a lot of the concepts to stories she tells about her life, and sometimes uses those examples in test questions which helps make them memorable.
Funniest and nicest professor ever. Lectures are straightforward and recorded. You can be in person or on zoom. iClickers are for extra credit. 4 exams but she drops the lowest one and makes a study guide for you, some short writing assignments (like a paragraph) and she drops the lowest one, 12 online quizzes but she drops the lowest 2.
Favorite and easiest class taken at UMass
amazing prof! she's hilarious and and caring. Class was really interactive and enjoyable. Has moderate of assignments to do, but you can get through them fairly quickly. Would definitely have her her as a prof again.
This class is such a good class to take. You can go in person or on zoom but attendance isn't mandatory. Tests are a little bit difficult but they are online so take that how you will. Tammy is great and makes lectures so quick. I would recommend this class to anyone
She's so sweet and her teaching style is super engaging. Lectures aren't boring, even if you go through Zoom the lecture is still interesting. Coursework isn't too bad, all quizzes + tests are online. I would recommend this class to anyone.
super easy for a gen ed, tests are online so do what u will with that info but the class was very straightforward. some test questions could be difficult but paying attention in lecture makes info easier to understand. take this class!!
This class was super easy, she makes the lectures enjoyable, and homework assignments are quick and easy.
Tammy is the best! Her lectures are so entertaining and informative, and she really cares about her students. She's incredibly smart and is always willing to share some wisdom with her students. I took psych 100 with her, TA-ed for her, and took her seminar - if you can take a class with her, do it!!
Absolutely amazing 10/10 would recommend. She's the funniest professor I've had and the class is super easy. Attendance is not required but iclicker is used for extra credit and lectures are very engaging. Very minimal homework and exams are all multiple choice and online. Anyone who needs an SB gen ed class should take psych 100 with Tammy!!
She is so nice and I love her
She is a great teacher and clearly cares about what she teaches. She is very kind to her students and cares about their success. Her teaching style is very effective so students are able to learn the material. She should be proud of the work she has done in teaching so many students psychology so well.
Tammy is a great professor and is highly engaged in her lectures. She sparked my interest in learning about psychology and was very entertaining. Tests are online and there are 1-2 homework assignments per week. The one thing that made me upset was that I was less than half of a percent from getting a B+ and she rejected rounding up my grade.
This is a easy gened. Content covers a variety of topics for an intro class. Its very easy to get a good grade if you put in the work. One exam dropped. Flexi class.
..................
Beware this class the exam is in person, the professor changed it recently before it was online. You will actually have to study and go to lectures because the exams are in person and on paper. The questions she puts on the exam require you to know more than just the definitions of the words. Good luck to anybody who takes it and wants an easy A.
professor Rahal is amazing!!! she is like my favorite professor ever her lectures are awesome and so entertaining. she uses hella real world examples to illustrate concepts and she does an excellent job of teaching in a way where u remember what u learned.
Professor Rahhal is a fantastic professor. Her lectures are entertaining, her assignments are straightforward, and the tests are simple if you prepare well. If I could have Professor Rahhal as my professor for every course, I would.
such an amazing professor! Highly recommend taking her class
She's great, loved her. As long as you stay on top of the readings and the assignments she assigns you will be good. She is so funny and makes great jokes
Very good professor. Lectures are always so engaging and she incorporates a lot of personal experiences into topics she teaches which makes things easy to understand. Gives the opportunity for extra credit with iClicker which is nice. No cumulative exams; however, lots of material on each. Make sure to keep up with textbook readings.
...test in person
Took her as a gen ed and I'd highly recommend her class. The lectures are easy to follow and her teaching style is captivating, funny, and effective. The homework and quizzes are very easy and the exams are totally manageable with minimal to moderate studying. Overall, I'd highly recommend her class and I genuinely enjoyed going to her lectures.
Fun lectures. Exams were quite easy and she let us have a cheat sheet. Class is engaging and I actually enjoyed being in lecture. I would recommend.
TAKE THIS CLASS. Can't stress enough how good of a professor Tammy is; makes class engaging and is so nice. Cheat sheets for every exam (3 + final), & the lowest score is dropped. Weekly quizzes + writing assignments (which aren't hard at all). Can attend online or in-person. Had lots of fun. Study for exams, pay attention in lecture & you're fine.
I LOVED TAMMY. I wish more lectures were like her, she truly grabs your attention day 1! TAKE THIS CLASS, its so easy and fun!
I LOVE TAMMY! Watching her lectures is like watching my comfort show and you learn so much cool stuff. Open notes and lots of resources!!
Really fun in class, and good teacher.
Easiest class I have ever taken. Did not study for a single exam and the lowest grade I got was a 96. You can get 16 extra credit points by answering 8 lectures' worth of iclicker questions.
Tammy was an amazing professor. She really cared about psych but still made the class easy and digestable. Classes were fun to go to and you got up to 16 extra credit points if you did the iclicker for 8 classes. I recommend for an easy gen ed, you learn a lot but don't have to put in too much effort.
You get one page of notes per exam, and exams are pretty easy. Weekly quizzes and SWAs are online and manageable, plus AI use is allowed. Lots of helpful TAs provide great study sheets. You can attend in person or Zoom, but in person is better, she's engaging and fun. Extra credit with iClicker too!
She's goated, some reading outside of class for the exams, but they're free just lock in lil bro
Tammy was really funny and her lectures were so entertaining. I had a hard time with first 2 exams but I did well on the last 2 and got an A in the class. She was great during her office hours and she wants to help you do well in class.
For every test, you can use a cheat sheet, and basically can not fail the class
Very funny and makes her lectures interesting. She is also very understanding and accommodating. I took the class from zoom bc of how crowded the lecture was.
This woman is amazing. I took her during my freshman fall and she made the whole experience so great. She's not only such a sweet woman who cares for her students, but she's a great professor overall. Her explanations and examples make the exams easy even if you don't study much. She doesn't try to trick you and had SONA and iClicker extra credit.
Easy breadth requirement to take pass fail. A lot of concepts are common sense. Never studied for tests and got mid 70's on all.
There's no way you can get a bad grade in this class. Prof. Rahhal gives great lectures, cares about the students, and is very clear on what is expected of you, especially on tests. You get a cheat sheet for each test. There is weekly homework, but it isn't difficult. Attendance is not mandatory, but iClickers count towards extra credit.
STOP DELETING MY RATE
Really great class with very interesting topics. Lectures were engaging and interactive, and the professor made it fun. Super easy to get a good grade, not very challenging assignments.
GREAT PROFESSOR, she's so funny and extremely memorable. This class is literally a breeze with so much extra credit, my one advice is DO YOUR SONA STUDIES EARLY. It counts for 6% of your grade and if you do them late, there aren't enough studies left.
