I liked him. I thought he was clear and fair. good easy class to take.

I don't know what the last rater's problem is. I thought this was a great class, and the prof was really helpful in office hours.

Great class. Teachers used power point slides that were VERY clear and helpful. Fun and intersting lectures. Fair tests.

If you're there to learn the material you won't be disappointed. Very smart.

Dr. German is great. This is the second class that I have had with him. He always has powerpoints on the web before class to print out. His lectures are clear and interesting. I really advise that anyone who is interested in child development to take this class.

Easy class, lecture is easy to follow and tests are fairly simple and mostly based on lecture. Highly recommended!!

This man has AWESOME presentations and is incredibly well organized and prepared for class. He even keeps his presentations online so you can come to class ready for extraneous notes. He has a GREAT attitude and is pretty patient and polite with the two dumbasses who asks dumb questions every class

Amazing teacher! It's well organized and interesting. He knows his stuff, and is really helpful with answering questions. Plus, he knows how to engage college students with modernizing the psych experiments (like using South Park characters!).

He's cool. Go to class, it's not boring, and the test questions come directly from lectures. As long as you don't fall asleep, as long as you pay attention, you WILL get an A on the tests! I promise!

this class seems easier than it is! Follow along in class...go to lectures! His TA was NOT HELPFULLLLL at all!!! His office hours are also pointless!! be aware..........

I was kind of disappointed by this class, but maybe it's because I'm almost done with the pysch major and the challenge just wasn't there in an intro class. Overall, the class was interesting, but it's more enjoyable if you're a freshman or sophomore psych major.

This class was most enjoyable. If you are interested in taking a class that delves deeper into coginitive development, this is the class for you. I was intrigued by the learining material every class. German has a great teaching style and make every class worth attending.

He's got the best accent, video clips and powerpoint presentations. He writes the midterm and final mostly on lecture (85% of it to be exact). Gives an outlined study sheet a week before the exam... and really knows his stuff. Class was worth my summer. Highly recommended.

Its no professor Tamsin German. She is amazingly easy and chill and flat out cool. Doesn't over exert herself or the material in class. Lets you out early. Gave a take-home exam. Cancelled numerous classes. Very nice and helpful. Take her if you want an easy chill class that she makes interesting with lectures. I took it in the summer

Prof. German was extremely good. She is very organized and puts up lecture notes long before class which is helpful. She want s students to perform well and is very helpful. Her tests are a little hard, but if you read, attend class, and use lecture notes you should do good. I looked forward to her class every day. Great teacher!

This is the best class I've taken as UCSB by far. The class is really fun and interesting, She gives you lots of videos to look at which helps you remember things much better than pages of notes, and her exams are very fair and shes very approachable. Take this class if you can! I just wish she took more classes.

Great class, great prof, im sad its over!

This is a very easy class, and Professor German does everything she can to make the class interesting and she succeeds! Although slides are posted online, their hard to understand without an explanation. Usually studied about an hour or two before the midterms and finished the final in 20 minutes! If you can take her do it!

She is a great teacher and I would definitely recommend taking her! The material is interesting and easy to grasp. You must attend the lectures to succeed in this course. Reading the textbook is optional and unnecessary.

this was one of the easiest classes ever taken at UCSB yet it was interesting and easy to attend. German gives you everything you need for the test at lecture and then gives out a review sheet. you can drop an exam. super easy

This was one of my favorite classes! German had great notes and was a good speaker. The video clips and examples were awesome! :) Even better, no textbook was required. Tests were from lecture only. The topic was really interesting and I was never bored. Loved this class!

She seems like a cool lady. She always starts off class with a funny clip. She uses a lot of video examples. There is no reading required everything you need to know is on the slides provided online and she goes through everything you need to know in lecture. She provides study guides so you already know what is on exams. Class got boring at times

BY FAR! BY FAR! MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR HERE AT UCSB. She f-in rocks! I love her humor, she tries really hard to make accommodations if you need extra help, tests are the fairest I've ever taken at UCSB (and I'm a senior). DO NOT take 105 with anyone else. I wish she weren't my professor so we could hang out! haha

This Woman is amazing! I couldn't wait to go to each one of her lectures! She has funny video clips and is CRYSTAL CLEAR about all slides and information. She will Explain the information in baby steps. Such has a absolutely amazing and successful teaching method. DO NOT REGRET IT! TAKE HER CLASSES!!! she has a practice midterm too. too cool!

German is a great professor. She has a ton of videos to help explain the material and it was one of the few classes I actually looked forward to. Don't completely neglect studying for her class but the midterms and final are very fair. On top of all that she doesn't require a textbook. If you can, take her!

Great lecturer! She is crystal clear. Her class is fun and always includes video clips that help tie concepts together. This class is interesting and pretty easy/straightforward, so it's a perfect addition to a otherwise rough schedule.

Professor Tasmin was so awesome! Her lectures were very clear, interesting, and usually really fun. She shows lots of video clips, (little kids are really entertaining to watch) I loved going to class. Her exams are very fair, study and you will do really well. Practice midterm and bonus questions. Take the class if you are a psych. major, def.

Probably my favorite professor at UCSB. I actually looked FORWARD to going to class. Material is not the easiest, but I rated it as easy because Professor German made sure we had a lot of help. Her videos helped to visualize material, her study guides covered all test subjects, and the online forums were a big help. She's really funny and cool too!

Material is fairly easy, no book, everything is based off lectures/power points. Although attendance isn't mandatory to do well, the video clips do help a lot (and they're entertaining). She is always available and willing to help and has lots of extra office hrs near test dates. Tests are easy as long as you go to class and look at study guide.

Best class I had so fat at UCSB, the professor is awesome and is very clear in lectures. She knows exactly what she's talking about and she goes slow and made sure everyone understood the material. She is also very helpful and patience in her office hours! The tests comes directly from the lectures, make sure you use the study guide she provides!

no reading, no studying, attended every lecture, and i got a B, in other words, one of the easiest classes i have taken. my favorite psychology professor without question, and also one of the best lecturers.

Easiest class! No reading, lecture slides online, and she is super clear. I literally ACED both midterms! over 100% with the bonus questions. even though you won't need to, i recommend going to office hours cause she is a freaking genius!

Her lectures are incredibly entertaining, clear and humorous. She has a quick wit and a dry sense of humor and uses clips from recent shows and films to make points clearer. A really great teacher and i would recommend any class she teaches. Favorite psych professor at UCSB.

VERY Easy class, no textbook. However powerpoints are not very organized or clear, but if you understand material tests are easy. Only midterm and final for grade, if you do bad on first midterm, second midterm grade erasers first one.

Such a great professor. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should go since there is not textbook for this course. Class is fun so you should go anyways :) There are 3 test and she post a study guide for each one along with lecture notes.

Highly recommend. All material is interesting and fairly easy to memorize. She also includes many videos of babies! Lots of oohs, aahs, and laughs in class. No book, everything is online. Be lazy and don't go to class if you want (you will miss out on the videos that really help with the concepts), but this class is so fun that you will want to.

My favorite professor at UCSB - she could make Psychology of Watching Paint Dry interesting. Posts the slides online, but you need to go to class because a lot of the slides are just examples from studies that she elaborates on. No text book, so make sure you take good notes. Tests are fair, literally right off the lectures.

She is a great professor, very interesting lectures. I do not like the fact that your grade depends on two tests. Her test questions are awkwardly worded and confusing.

German is an excellent lecturer, but this is an extremely (almost disappointingly) easy class. Do not expect depth.

German has this tone to her voice that makes it really hard for me to pay attention in class, but the way she teaches the class makes it really easy to get an A if you do the reading and attend lecture. Don't slack off but if you put effort in, you will get an A :)

So far my favorite psychology professor at UCSB. Straightforward and uses a lot of videos to illustrate the material. Will handout a study guide (Thank God!) and as long as you study the slides and supplement them with her additional commentaries, you CAN easily get a C or above

Professor German is seriously the ideal professor. She thinks textbooks are too expensive and cover too much material so she doesn't use one. That is to say, it's important to attend lecture but she makes you want to go! The videos she shows are not only engaging, but hilarious. As long as you review your notes you should get an A!

Go to lecture and take avid notes on the clips she plays, as they will be constantly referred to on exams. No textbook, all lecture-based, and she even provides study guides prior to exams telling you everything you need to know. It is an easy class, but only if you pay attention to the clips, so make sure to go to class!

One of the best teachers ive ever encountered. she made the points she was trying to make very clear, and used the same examples to illustrate different points across the quarter sometimes. she made every class incredibly interesting. id say this was my favorite class ive taken thus far.

By far the coolest teacher I've had at UCSB. She uses relevant videos to clarify points which makes the class so entertaining. She posts all lectures online and provides study guides. As long as you know what's on the study guide it's easy to get a good grade.

The class is designed so that if you go to class and pay attention you'll get an A. However, you should put in an hour or so a week going over the lecture slides. The class is fun with lots of videos so it's worth going to.

German is an overall knowledgeable professor who makes the class relatively easy and fun for students. Her video clips during lecture are relevant and helpful, but sometimes you may catch yourself dozing off hearing her monotone voice. No textbook required to do well and she's an overall really interesting professor teaching a great class.

AMAZING!! I love Tamsin! I absolutely hated developmental psych before I took her & it's still not my cup of tea, but she is WONDERFUL! I definitely recommend taking her. She is passionate about her subject, funny, clear, and bonus: NO TEXTBOOK required. I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the class. Try to take a class from her while at UCSB!

No textbook, and as long as you study the night or two before, you'll get an A!

I only had Dr. German for a 1 unit testless transfer seminar course so I can't say how she is in an actual class but I really enjoyed her! She is easy to talk to, knows her stuff and is really creative with innovative and fun homework assigments that didn't even feel like homework because they were enjoyable. I highly suggest her as a professor.

The best professor I have had at UCSB. The subject itself is very interesting but German makes them easy to understand/entertaining by using pop culture ex. No textbook. Go to class so you can learn the details of the studies she presents, or else you'll only get a brief overview which isn't enough info to ace the tests. Lot of ways to get an A

I enjoyed her class. Her exams are hard but if you study well enough you can get a god grade. I took her during my spring quarter of 2020 during quarantine and she made the class worthwhile. Shes a good professor in general!

I loved this class. Everyone who says the tests are super hard doesn't know how to take application based tests. Yes it is reading heavy, but I just take brief notes and watch the lectures and I have gotten an A on every test. I find the material super interesting! Please don't be discouraged and take this class if you are interested at all in psy

Exams Are Tough

I took this class as a GE, and I am so glad I did. Prof German is great! Shes understanding if you miss tests or can't make it to your section. Readings & lectures are fair, if you do both and have decent reading comprehension skills you'll get at least a B. Tests are straight from the readings/lectures. + The content you learn is SO interesting!

anyone who says this class is hard didnt put in enough work. Im the type of person who likes an easy class w an easy A and have been fortunate enough to do the bare minimum and still get an A in HS but for this class, I had to do a fair amount of work. but its college so its expected. shes great! take this class. very interesting!

Professor German is amazing. She is incredibly passionate about Psychology and that only makes learning in her class easier. She pre-recorded her lectures which was very helpful and she made herself available. With weekly tests and no midterm or final, this was a very well structured class. I highly, highly recommend!! She is incredible.

Online learning has been a disaster but this was the only class I looked forward to attending. German puts a lot of effort into her lectures and I found them all to be incredibly engaging and easy to understand. I feel like I learned a lot. She gives great opportunities to prepare for the test and has been very accommodating during this time.

Personal favorite prof out of the classes I've taken online. Super caring & understanding, make up exams are open with no questions asked. Tests based off reading and lectures. Lectures are interesting, book is most of the same stuff so can skim and do well. No final, lowest quiz is dropped.

One of my favorite professors at UCSB. Tamsin is a fantastic teacher and person. In PSY 1 if you read the textbook material and watch the lecture then take the online CYU quizzes you will you well on the weekly exams. THERE IS NO FINAL! She is very understanding even though this is a huge group of students and a stressful class to run. Love her.

Prof. German is an amazing teacher! This class has weekly tests based on two reading chapters, which ended up being a lot of work. Her tests are also slightly confusing wording wise but wasnt terrible. She modified some aspects halfway through the quarter after feedback, which was really nice.

BEST professor ever. Would 100% take another class taught by her. Very understanding. Hosts office hours to review before weekly exams that are very helpful. Pretty straightforward class. Highly recommend this class as a GE or just for credit. Textbook is online. Section attendance mandatory. Watch the lectures and do the readings to get an A.

8 prerecorded lectures each week each about 15 mins long each. Theres one 20q mc exam every week. Theres readings but I did fine without needing to buy the $50 book. No final. You can choose to participate in a study throughout the quarter or write a 2 pg paper but its only 2% so I did neither. Shes very accommodating too. Section takes attendance

She was so flexible throughout the quarter and was just overall a very caring person.

She is a great professor! Will give you the help you are looking for, but she does low-key try to trick you on quizzes. The way she words her questions and answers makes you think.

Professor German makes her async lectures fun and interesting with lots of videos. She shows a cat video of all her kittens at the beginning of each one. She is super caring and considerate because of covid and really cares about her student's well being. There are frequent but easy-ish assignments, text book online. Great prof, learned cool stuff.

Took this class in the fall and she was amazing! DEF will take another of her classes. She offers extra credit opportunities. Quizzes were timed but reasonable and open note, the material was straight off of lectures and readings so you have to do the work to do well. She hosts review sessions before quizzes and she is very kind and genuine.

By far one of the top best professors in the PBS department. She is so caring, welcoming, and really enthusiastic to interact with. I took both of her PSY 145 and PSY160 courses and based on my experience she teaches beautifully. Her exams are transparent and no way tricky. No lie Im going to miss taking her classes. Trust me take her classes!

My favorite professor by far, made me switch my major to psychology after just 2 weeks of her intro to psych class. She is so kind and makes lectures very fun by showing cat videos before each one and giving us 5 minutes breaks in between the units of the lecture. No midterm or final, just weekly exams that are very passable. 100/10 would recommend

All of Professor German's lectures are extremely interesting and you can tell she loves what she teaches. Her presentations are engaging while also teaching you everything you need to know for the class, and I genuinely look forward to her classes and would take another. Tests and quizzes are open note but still require you to understand material.

Professor German is a great teacher. Her lectures are super relaxed and interesting. She gives little breaks in between lecture topics, so actually paying attention is easier. There are two quizzes a week, but they're not timed and you can take them as many times as you want. One test a week, open note, very easy. Easy GE.

She is such a responsible and caring professor! Learning comes really naturally with her fun lectures and engaging course material. She also drops two lowest quiz grades out of eight so if you listen to lectures and take thoughtful notes you would definitely get a good grade. Take advantage of her office hours as they could be really helpful

Tamsin is the best!! This is definitely a solid GE to take and a pretty easy class. Finished with an A but you definitely have to pay attention in lecture. Just graded on quizzes (which you can take as many times as you want) and the weekly tests. They werent too bad but can be lecture heavy so take good notes and focus on tests.

Psy 1 with German is the perfect GE. Grading is largely determined by weekly take home, open note quizzes. If you read the textbook and payed attention in lecture, a B or A is basically guaranteed. Lectures themselves are well-organized and pertaining to the material at hand.

Super interesting class, very broad, great for taking care of GE's. Prof. German is very fun, shows cat videos throughout class. I did all the reading and went to the majority of lectures and ended up doing pretty well.

No final but there is an online test you have to take every friday. A lot of test material comes straight from the lectures so going to those is definitely helpful. On the quizzes after every lecture, you get multiple chances to take it. Overall it was an easy and interesting class.

She has been my favorite professor so far. Lectures are organized, recorded, and include video examples. She understands how students learn best and uses that in her teaching. Quizzes and Exams are weekly but all open note (so a lot of work, but easy) and Quizzes can be retaken until 100%. Just have to volunteer for some psych experiments but easy.

Sweetheart with a great sense of mental health awareness. The class is tailored more towards babies to correlate with the professor's research area. This isn't bad but it's not your typical into to Psych class. Read the textbook and watch the lectures. Questions are worded weird and can be tricky to pass the tests if not read carefully. Solid class

I absolutely loved this class! the structure is a powerpoint lecture every week. She made them fun with lots a videos. There are no midterms or finals in the class. There were 8 weekly tests. As long as you pay attention during lecture it is an easy A. All exams were open note and open book.

She also lets you retake the quizzes as many times as you want! AWESOME professor!

This class is the most chill I've taken. The lectures and content are very interesting. There's a fair amount of reading, but it was pretty interesting and not too difficult. The research participation could be the only turn-off for some people, but I liked them. German is very generous in the way she structures and grades. I definitely recommend.

Professor German is great! PSY1 covers a lot of ground and serves as a good intro to psychological science as a whole field, although her developmental psych focus does show in an emphasis on infant research in lectures. Tests can be worded in a difficult way sometimes, so test-taking skills can be as important as knowing the content.

Prof is nice and class is manageable. No midterms or final. As long as you keep up with lectures (recording available), you will be fine. Most grades come from weekly online exam (9 drop 2), which can be hard if you do not pay attention to lectures. Interesting class and highly recommended.

What a gem! rockstar professor with the best outfits. No final or midterm, just weekly exams. You need to pay attention in lecture and do the readings to do well on the exams. My only complaint is some of the exam questions are hard to understand. But overall, this was an awesome class with a caring prof.

This class is easy id say loll. If u r trying to find a GE- this is it. I can tell she's a nice person even tho I skip her cat videos everytime lol. Lectures are clear and well-organized- u really can learn something

Psych 1 was a great experience with Professor German. Although her lectures can be tedious at times, it was overall a super easy class that you can easily get an A in if you do the required work. She's super cool and her class was very well organized and clear. Also there's no midterms or finals, so that's cool.

Prof. German was great! We had weekly exams, but 2 lowest scores were dropped. They were pretty tough and hard to understand at times, but EVERYTHING came from lectures and readings so make sure to stay on top of that! Quizzes are given and you were able to retake as many times are you wanted! Extra credit is available too, but don't depend on it!

Professor German's class was awesome! There were 2 quizzes a week but they can be re-taken as many times as you want. There was no midterm or final, just weekly online exams. They can be difficult but the information was all in the lectures. She's clearly passionate about psych and the class is fun!

German gave amazing lectures and you can tell how passionate she is about the subject. She's very accommodating of her students, and since there is no final it was pretty easy to pass the class. Most of the exams are just based on some of the reading but mostly on the lectures, so I recommend going to them.

Although attendance is not mandatory, you have to take careful notes in order to pass the weekly test -- relying solely on her slides won't help! The lowest two scores get drop.

She is very passionate and knows what she is talking about. Her class is outlined very well. When I took it, it was partially online because if a covid spike, but I honestly think that made it easier. Sections are mandatory and the class is test/quiz heavy. Reading the textbook helps a lot.

Professor German is a brilliant lecturer and even showed us her cats during the "breaks" she has in class. German's tests and quizzes are all online and are based on her lecture slides. She is accessible outside of class and is approachable, so definitely tune into her office hours!

Truly a great professor she knows so much and is super easy to listen to. This subject is very interesting and the workload is not bad at all. On the plus side she plays cute cat videos every 5 seconds and seems like a great person who cares about her students. Would 100% take a class with her again she's awesome and a staple here.

The lectures are pretty laid back including the weekly exams. Just make sure to really understand the topics and the check your understanding quizzes for each topic as they really do help. Try to get 100% in all of the small quizzes they help a lot and you are able to retake them as many times as youd like.

Professor Tamsin's lectures are very enjoyable and she always starts with a kitten of the day video. There is weekly reading for this class, however, it is very manageable. She also doesn't assign major exams but weekly ones that you can take from home. You are also given the leniency to drop your lowest exam score.

Engaging lectures, solid professor very organized, gives good examples during class, critical thinking involved for exams and quizzes this class.

PSY 1 was my favorite class last quarter due to her engaging and confident way of lecturing. Weekly exams (only exams!) are simple if you read the book and participate. She also gives lots of extra credit opportunities and some extensions, which I did not need. You will do well if as long as you try. A brilliant, passionate professor I recommend.

Absolutely amazing professor! The lectures are well organized and engaging. She includes breaks between sections to show videos of her cats, and even if you can't attend her lectures, her lectures are posted online. There is one take-home exam per week, but they are typically pretty easy with your lowest score being dropped. Highly recommended!

It's an easy class but make sure you buy the online textbook as it will sometimes be tested in weekly quizzes.

Her lectures are genuinely really interesting, and she's a super cool professor. The readings are also interesting, but they can take a bit of time, so try not to fall behind. As long as you watch the lecture (in person or online since she posts them) and do the reading, you'll get an A.

She really loves psychology and includes videos of her cats at home. There is no final or midterm, you just have two quizzes per week and an exam every other week. As for quizzes you can retake them as many times as you want so you can get a perfect score every time. Overall an amazing prof and I would definitely recommend this class to everyone.

Professor German is literally fantastic. I love her and she is amazing. She explains everything so well and I really appreciate how we don't have a midterm or final exam. Lectures are always great and engaging, very interesting too. I have so much respect for her and she will always be one of my favorite professors here at UCSB. Take this class!!!!

two weekly quizzes based on lectures, one weekly exam (all are open note), but no final or midterm! i love dr. german she is such a good lecturer and the ta's are all super helpful if you can get one with rosencrance i would highly recommend; there is an online textbook, but i didn't get it and was fine. take this class you won't regret it!

Lectures posted online (slides&recording), very organized, videos to illustrate concepts/studies. Weekly online tests very fair if you listen to lectures. Reading TB helped on exams, but they're mostly based on lectures. Sections graded on participation, lowest 2 dropped. No final/midterm. Great instructor who wants students to have fun learning.

Professor German has interesting, clear lectures. The class is extremely structured and every test/assessment is open note. She wants you to do well and this class. Homework load is predictable each week and very manageable.

Professor German is amazing! Her lectures are very interesting and well-paced, and always posted online. Mostly graded on the weekly exams that are open-note and online, so as long as you do good on those you'll be fine. Two weekly quizzes that you get infinite attempts on, and sections are interesting and engaging. Highly recommend

Professor German is awesome! Her lectures are very interesting, and are broken into 4 parts with breaks in between. No midterm or final though there are weekly tests and a short quiz on each lecture. All are open note and the quizzes have unlimited attempts. Both are easy if you pay attention in lecture and read the book. Would highly recommend!

Fav course by far. Super nice and understanding professor. Lectures are straightforward and she records them so you don't HAVE to go to lecture. She talks quite fast, but make sure to take notes on what she says and not the slides (exams focus more on what talks about). Even though I took it for a GE, the class was genuinely interesting. no final!

so witty and just an overall amazing human being. you're graded by multiple things (papers, quizzes, exams) and she gives LOTS of opportunities for extra credit. she presented the material so well and i found the course really engaging. i loved doing the assignments and she gave great feedback. if you can, take one of her courses!!

Loved her class! It always felt like time flew in there because the material is very interesting. Quizzes every week, but online & open note. Also had to read a lot, but it wasn't too bad tbh.

AMAZING CLASS!! Incredibly easy, almost no hw and online tests so definitely take this professor for the GE, but also really interesting. Professor cites SO many real life experiments that really engages you with the class. Final was online and really doable. Light workload so it's great to learn some more psychology without stressing at all.

Super light workload with roughly two short assignments a week. Super engaging lectures that helped you stay focused. No final or midterm for this class only small weekly open note quizzes. Very helpful in office hours if you ever have any questions. Textbook is optional her lectures go over everything needed to pass the quizzes.

Best professor by far. She's so sweet and passionate about her lectures. She doesn't do midterms or finals but does have a quiz at the end of every week. As long as you pay attention in lectures (which are actually really interesting) and look at the slides you should pass with no problem. Wish I could take her class again and again.

German is so helpful and lenient. Lectures are not mandatory but they are very engaging and easy to follow. Weekly quizzes and section participation were the whole grade. No finals no papers. SUCH AN EASY GE

It was easy to learn from her lectures because even though they were content heavy, concepts were explained well. She also recorded and posted videos of every lecture. There were also no midterms or final, just asynchronous open note quizzes once a week. Assignments were also minimal. Definitely take for an easy A.

Wonderful professor as her lectures were engaging and so well organized! I loved the cat videos at the beginning of class and she overall just seems like a super cool person to be around. No midterm or final was amazing, weekly quizzes were a bit difficult (take lecture notes AND listen to her examples) but doable. Also TA Miriam Urie was amazing!!

prof german was super sick! interesting and concise presentations, straightforward expectations, and very manageable class work and quizzes. ta sections can be very boring though. no final too which rocks. highly recommend taking as an easy GE

Prof Germans class was very easy. Attendance not mandatory all her lectures and recordings were posted on canvas. Had quizzes every week (open book and online), along with one assignment based on class material each week (grades on completion). Asked to complete 6 credits of psychology research only worth 6%

I LOVED Prof German. She's very intelligent and understanding. If you miss a weekly quiz you can retake during finals week. There's no final or midterm for this class, but I went to every single lecture anyway because the topics were so interesting. She explains things very clearly, AND she shows cat videos at the beginning of every class!

very straightforward class, easy one too. she gets you involved by having students participate in research studies, and the actual classwork is a breeze. if you are familiar with psych at all, this class can be done with eyes closed. definitely attend/watch her lectures, because weekly quizzes she does are entirely based on them. sections suck tho

The grading system is very flexible; you can drop your lowest score in every category. There's no midterm or final, just weekly quizzes. The material was pretty interesting and Professor German showed a fun cat video at the beginning of each lecture. It was a very chill class overall and I would recommend it if you need an easy GE.

I loved this class it was very informative and a great intro to psychology. Lectures kept you interested, she even gave phone breaks throughout topics.

Professor German's PSY1 class was a breeze - interesting lectures, manageable quizzes, and even cat videos! Unstuck ai was super helpful for quiz prep. Definitely recommend taking this easy GE.

grade was based on worksheets, short writing tasks and peer reviews, quizzes, section participation, and research participation. It sounds like a lot, but it's honestly super easy. There was no midterm or final. If you do not want to participate in research studies, you can write a paper instead, but I highly recommend the studies, its super easy.

easy and interesting intro psych class- graded on weekly quizzes and worksheets, which were straightforward and simple. sections were interesting enough and prof german is super chill. would 100% recommend for a gen ed :)

I LOVE professor German. All the lectures are optional, and if you don't go she posts all the slides and lecture recordings online. Sections are mandatory, but not difficult, you just have to show up. We dont have a final or midterms, just weekly quizzes that you take online wherever you want, and if you miss one u can retake it during finals week.

Fantastic professor who is clearly passionate about the material she is lecturing on. Sections are mandatory, but lectures are not as they are recorded and the slides posted online. Weekly online quizzes that are relatively simple. You are given two options for the “final” and you are given all quarter to complete either one. Highly recommend!

Super easy GE. Grade consists of weakly quizzes and worksheets. No final exam and all lectures are posted online with recordings. Definitely recommend for an easy GE.

100% take this class - it's easy and super fascinating. Dr. German is an engaging lecturer and uses both text on the slideshow and vids of psych experiments to teach. Also gives multiple breaks each lecture. She is super accessible and helpful during office hours. Everyone I know loves the class.

Definitely a really easy yet interesting GE to take. I really enjoyed Professor Tamsin, she seems very intelligent yet witty. I hope I have the chance to take another one of her classes in the future.

Lectures aren't mandatory but would definitely recommend going anyways as some of the quiz questions reflect topics/videos viewed in class, and there's cat videos!!! Sections are pretty boring but there's no midterm or final and the weekly quizzes/assignments are relatively easy. Take this class!

Does a very good job at making you interested in course content and she covers all information clearly. You don't have to go, however, as all slides are posted and are all that is needed to complete weekly reflections and quizzes.

Great class with interesting topics. It's a super easy GE if you need it, but I would highly recommend the class as it's easy to get a good grade simply by trying and doing your assignments. Professor German is a great and caring professor, she is always very engaged with the material and is emanates passion for psychology. This is a very interesting but easy GE class to take, weekly quizzes and check your understanding sheets are the bulk of the (small) workload for the quarter.

I loved Prof German. She is so organized and such a good lecturer that I didn't have to hard-core study. Her lectures were so captivating that you remember everything. She also posts detailed slides and your grade is based on quizzes (that are based on the lectures), participation, HW, and being in psych studies. It was so fun and interesting.

I only have good things to say about professor German. I only took this course because it was an easy GE but I think I also kinda fell in love with her in the process. She's kinda quirky and connects concepts to pop culture (which is awesome). She shows cat videos in the beginning of each lecture which is also super awesome. Highly recommend.

Intro to psych with her was possibly the easiest class I will ever take. 60% of the grade was free points you just got for completing assignments and 40% was take home quizzes that were open note. Interesting funny lectures as well shows cat videos every class.

the easiest class i have taken at UCSB (thought, I did take AP psych in hs). The homework was graded on completion and there was quizzes that were open note. No midterm or final, you get the option to participate in studies (which you can do online) you only need to do 3, the alternative is a paper. She also showed her cat (hes cute) my fav lesbian

LOVE HER! Easy class. No final or midterm, just research requirements. Every week have to do one quiz and a worksheet about the topics (graded on completion). Definitely would take it again, Professor German is the best, and the cat videos before lectures lighten the class.

This isthe best class I have taken. Super light, quiz once a week but most of the answers you'll find in the lecture same with the weekly worksheets. Professor German was delightful!!! Always helpful and showed videos of her cats before lecture. Attendance is not mandatory, but it is nice to go.

Amazing lecturer. Very lenient grading. Overall a very easy class. The class is based on weekly quizzes (~20 q's multi-choice), weekly cyu's (graded on completion), and section participation. She gives you the opportunity to make up all missed quizzes and to re-take your lowest-score quiz. You can just use "A.cademic I.ntegrity" on all the quizzes

Good lecturer but sometimes I cannot hear her words clearly. Love the cat videos she shown on screen at the start of every class. No midterm and final. Just weekly quiz. Easy to get a good grade.

Professor German was honestly one of my favorite professors during fall quarter. I took Psy 1 just for the credits but learned so much and it was actually super interesting. Super easy class and attendance is not mandatory. Grades are based on section attendance, weekly worksheets and open-note quizzes. Definitely take it!
