Dr. Vovan is freaking funny, class was very funny. He teaches very well...So easy to understand what he is teaching. If you take him u actually pass Math!

Was scared of Calculus for years, but got an A with him. Not everyone does well, you must go to class and do the homework. Easy class if you keep up with the minimal amount of work. Great teacher, great guy. Wish he taught more than just math.

Best Calculus Professor ever, makes the Calculus easy as learning your ABC's. He's one of the best, loves the word "Oh****". But you'll get over it after the first 3 classes and don't take any of his jokes personal, because he wouldn't stop...... Overall...GREAT!

The Best professor I have ever had for any math class, he is a genious but he goes SOOO slow for everyone. Homework counts as extra credit so you don't have to do it if you don't want to. He is extremely clear with explanations NOBODY can fail this class. Just go to class and you'll be all set, I promise!

He goes slowly and step by step, and he explains it in the easiest way possible. HW is optional>>it can help u get more credits, but its not required to do... Cracks alot of jokes...great guy!

He is the best math teacher I've had. He explains and does each math problem step by step, which most the professors don't do nowadays. He is HILARIOUS, and swears quite often. TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE, because often times, his classes are filled on the first day of registration. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The best of the very best! Graduated with Math/Comp Science degree some twenty years ago. This guy POSSESES his material and can take a DOG off the street make him understand it!!! The greatest teacher at Suffolk University. Not only is he lenient on grading, he will clarify ANYTHING for his students. He actually cares about his students and will make sure you understand the material before moving on to a new subject.

I was nervous about this class, but this guy makes it easy. He has a great teaching style that allows you to understand the information. He reviews the material before every exam and the exams are almost a carbon copy of the review sheets. Easy to earn a good grade.

This is easily the best professor at Suffolk. Many kids are scared about calculus but there is no need with Vovan. The guy only goes over the basics of Calc and explains it extremely well. He is really funny and an easy grader. Minimal homework and the reviews for quizes ARE the quizes. Easy A+. Book is never used except for HW, use library book

best teacher to take calc with. he is really funny and always goes over anything kids need help with. He doesnt go in depth like the other teachers with crazy formulas but that just makes it so much easier. only 3 exams + final. theyre all easy since he tells you exactly whats on it. His accent does tend to get in the way, and his hand writing isn't that neat but as long as you pay attention, you'll know everything going on. This class is very simple. Vovan clearly explains all the topics and none of them are too difficult if you took any sort of calculus beforehand. There are a few tests and the final. Very similar to the practice guides he gives. He gives homework every night but doesn't really hurt you if it's not completed.

Great! He summarized for you. A really welcoming professor. He always makes sure students are clear about the note from class and homework question. Clear instruction about the homework and extra credit. Choose this course if you are a step-by-step math learner. This professor explains each step thoroughly and clearly. A really patient professor.

If you like math, this class isn't bad at all! Vovan made everything easy to understand, and he's super funny. I definitely recommend him. The homework assignments aren't too heavy and they're good practice. The review before the tests is basically the test with different numbers.

Prof Vovan is hilarious and definitely is a fair teacher. After you get used to his accent you'll find his teaching style super helpful as he goes over a bunch of examples per each type of question. You will know exactly what to prepare for on the tests and if you submit all of your homework you will get a good grade in the class!

came in on the first day & basically said he didn't care if we showed up. he literally makes the tests from the study guides so I got 100s on every one. but he words them so simply that when the final came, i had NO clue what it was asking so I bombed it. my grade went from 100 to an 81, but he scaled it & i ended up getting a B+. really sweet guy

Professor VoVan was my favorite teacher this semester! As someone who has struggled with math in the past, I found his class extremely easy to follow and his teaching style worked perfectly for me. He does plenty of examples, prepares students well for tests and assigns relevant homework. He's so funny and makes learning math super enjoyable.

The class is pretty much lectures and tests. If you fear having a class that is only graded on tests with extra credit opportunities, I would recommend him! He helps students who may be struggling. He sometimes arrives late to class, which can be great if you're running from one building to the next. Pay attention and you'll surely pass.

I thought he was insane at first. He has a thick Asian accent that can be hard to understand at times, but he is so fun and I am so happy I took his class. Our grade was only the 3 exams he gave and the final, and it was so easy to pass the test because he explains everything on it. His lectures are very clear and simple. Love him! Highly recommend

I loved prof Vovan! He was so funny and very sweet. I felt bad for him though because our class was a mix of online and in person students because of Covid, and he was often very overwhelmed by the tech of it all. Some days we would spend half the class trying to help him understand zoom, but he was very funny and good spirited about it. Take him!!

Professor VoVan is super kind and helpful. He made math painless. The recitation periods were optional but a great way to get extra help if needed. There were just a couple of exams but they were easy if you understood the content. Never any surprises!

Great guy, class was super easy as long as you pay attention to the lectures. Could defs get by just on reviewing the packets before each test. He really struggles with technology, so our hybrid class was very difficult if you were online. He also doesn't have the best hearing and often lets his pants fall VERY low.

He is hilarious, and very good at explaining things. He always gives many examples. Homework isn’t super important, it wont hurt you to not do it but it will boost your grade if you do it. He always gives a review guide that is nearly identical to the test, and you can bring a formula sheet with anything on it to tests

Dr. Vovan is AWESOME. I came from high school almost failing precalc because it was so difficult to his class and he made math effortless. He's very nice and funny and makes considerably difficult concepts extremely easy. If you have the chance to take his class, DO IT.

I love Prof. Vovan! Lot's of people would complain about not doing well on tests, but as long as you pay attention and copy down the examples he gives- they're the exact same on the test. He also gives bonus homework where you can get extra credit on tests, so he gives more than enough opportunities to get good grades. He's also really funny!

If you don't understand his accent too well, get a Suffolk math tutor through Handshake to go over the study guide, and you'll be good to go! That's why I like him. Vovan's lectures are very clear, informative, and humorous. When he's not "accidentally" writing on the walls, or swearing at spam callers, he's teaching very effectively. He doesn't grade homework or attendance, and the tests are easy.

Teaches the concepts very well and simply. Tests were pretty much the review paper he gives you before each of them, just different questions, which was helpful for me to prepare. Accent can be a bit tricky to understand but you will get it after a few more classes.
