She's good, but too much work for a beginner class like this one...

Instead of coming to this class, I might as well had just read the assignment packet. Does not explain or teach clear. It is a lot of work. So many people dropped it and took up a different professor. I would not reccommend this professor.

One of the nicests teachers you'll ever take. Her lectures are pretty boring, but her labs are fun. Her tests are pretty easy if you study and she'll go the extra mile to help you learn.

She's a very nice woman and also a good teacher. She's passionate about the subject and speaks with authority. Her lectures can get a bit boring. She makes her class easy enough so that everyone can pass it. Put forth a little effort and you are sure to get at least a B.

Great teacher! The class was very interesting and an "A" can be achieved. Just remember to study the notes before the tests and to pay attention to the details in lab!

I liked the teacher a lot, but was overwhelmed by the class. For a beginner class, it really is too much. Perfect for those majoring in botany, but wouldnt reccomend for general science requirement.

some of the tests are hard- some are easy...but if you come to class regularly and work hard she will be extremly fair with you-- she is a very nice person

She is the best teacher at CSM. Take her classes. She loves teaching, and likes her students. I never believed I could do science. I got As in her classes and change my major to Biology.

this class wasn't so bad. all you have to do is turn in your homework, read the material in the book before the next class with the study guide, and EXTRA CREDITS. if you do all of that, it wouldn't be impossible for you to get an A.

The botany class was dry... I foundmyself starting to doze off in her class several times. She's a nice teacher though. She draws lots of diagrams for you to understand better. Beliz was awesome. Her lectures were interesting and organized and the book is completely congruent to lecture material. The tests could be tough at times but if you have studied the material you'll do great. Prof. Wilson co-teaches labs, other then that, the tests and quizzes and labs are pretty straight forward.

Easy A. Curves big time on the midterm. No final that semster. Nice teacher. Do your work and show interest and you will be fine.

Great class for science majors. Lectures were interesting, labs were tough. Lab test even tougher. But take the time to study and ask questions and enjoy. I have a whole new appreciation for plants.

she was easy as long as you do well on the very easy quizzes she gives. tests mainly on what she talks about in class. no real need to read textbook. class a liltte boring but may do other work while she's teaching. very flexible with students and imporving their grades.

She loves to help those who show interest into learning. She will show or explain to you the most important parts according to the discussion. Her explaination is very clear in 1 to 1 converstation, especailly during lab. Many mini quizzes BUT no test or exams. To do well in this class, you must study the details in the lab, very easy.

I love her i think she's one of the best bio teachers, she give out soo many extra credits but the labs are long but she is extremely helpful and understanding i had her i think 3 semesters ago and i still miss her.

She seems very tough but is fair. I never got higher than a C on a test and managed to get an A in the class. Just work hard and show up and she will hook you up. Lots of extra credit.

Great class! Definitely recommend it! Very organized instructor and as long as you spend a reasonable amount of time on HW you should pass w/an A. Chapter questions really force you to read and learn. I've taken this instructor before and would take her again. She's very helpful and flexible.

I took this teacher for Bio 100 and Health Science...she was awesome. I took both classes online and did extremely well. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. I wish she taught other classes because I would continue to take her.

Online class - very easy and informative! She has powerpoints and itunes lectures, very organized. A few online tests and assignments. Take it!!!

She seems very nice, and responds to emails promptly. Her online class is very easy going, and she grades pretty generously. The only negative is it might take weeks to receive a grade on an assignment. Otherwise, her class is like most other bio courses. I'd take her again.

i took prof. beliz course and loved it. i learned a great deal. i took this course the semester before with another teacher and learned nothing. Im not huge on science but i loved taking her online course. There were so many learning tools available. She wants her students to suceed and responds to emails FAST!! Great teacher. Great course

Took this course online and was surprised at how well I did. She was very helpful when it came to me needing help on a couple of chapters and let me come in during office hours as well as extended the deadline. Don't know about her in class, but I think she is a teacher that definitely cares about her students doing well.

she was well organized and explained things pretty clearly. very helpful when you ask her questions about the class. she goes off topic sometimes but its ok.

The online class is easy. Website is outdated (both the system CSM is using and the content of this particular course). "Documentary Project" just requires answering questions from worksheet about a global warming video. Tests aren't easy if you haven't been studying (good internet searching skills help). She is quick and helpful with emails.

This instructor is very fair and approachable. She truly sees her students as individuals and wants them to succeed. I have taken two classes from her and she is consistently professional and respectful.

Took her online class over the summer my first online class ever, her lectures were crystal clear and although I bombed on the test because I am the type of student who takes my time, so having it be timed was a bit hard.But she told me to focus on the hw I did and I got a B. Very informative class.

I had her before she started the online thing and she was great! Very friendly and she goes above and beyond for her students. Tests were hard but do well on all the rest of the stuff and you'll do well! I earned a B but my overall test average was 69%- it was difficult. Learn in class and participate- that's the key! There are really fun labs too

shes a good professor, really into botany. but she acts like we're professionals in botany. tons and tons of stuff to memorize. not an easy class. lectures are super boring, but it's mandatory for clicker points.

She's super nice , but really boring lectures. Labs are hit or miss, some ok, some not so much. The tests are pretty fair, if you took good notes and actually paid attention you can surely get an A or B. But like I said before, super boring lectures, so hard to actually pay attention - with some cramming though, certainly can still scrape by a B!

Prof. Beliz was very helpful but the textbook reading & the homework were TOO MUCH. The homework ranges from 20-80 questions, so prepare at least two hours or more. Then followed by quizzes. I didn't like the Darwinism's Natural Selection and evolution, & Eric Simon's lectures. It's tough, I don't agree with their theory. BEWARE!

Her recorded lectures weren't very helpful; my advice is READ THE TEXTBOOK. Whenever I emailed her questions, she made an effort to ensure that I understood. She is very busy, but she makes time for her students. She wants you to not only learn but get good grades and was very generous to me. I learned so much from her online summer class.

She's very passionate about Botany. Hence she ensures that everyone learns the topics. You can easily get the grade that you're aiming for as long as you work diligently. I recommend reading the textbook as a supplement to her lectures. Doing so greatly assisted me in improving my grade. Go to her office for clarification on topics, it helps a lot.

Not a tough grader. Gives extra credit and will curve a lot! However, the tests are hard if you do not study as required. Be ware of due dates for online class.

She is so nice! highly recommend!! For BIOL 100 it is easy to get A as long as u finish homework on time and to study it. Pro. Beliz is a helpful teacher and very glad to answer questions after class or during office hours no matter how silly the question is. Also, she gives a lot of chance for us to get extra credit which can help u improve grade.

A great professor. Unlike other professors who expect you to know what will be on the tests and exams, she tells you, by review sheets. She tells relevant stories that help you understand the lecture. Most importantly, she notices when you want to do good in the class and gives credit for it. Easy A class. Would take the same professor again.

Professor Beliz's teaching method is very effective. Yes, you are required to study hard in her class. And yes, you do need to go to her lectures to get the basic information on the material. But if you do what's needed for the class (reading the labs, reviewing lecture notes, looking at her Canvas pages), you will do well.

Great, caring professor. Tests are moderate, highly recommend to study in this order: study guide, LABS!!!, lectures + podcasts, textbook. As long as you complete the work, show her that you are actively putting in the effort, and seek out help when needed, then it should be no problem getting an A/B. Take advantage of FAT EC opportunities.

Definitely a reasonable professor + provides EC that's worth A LOT towards your grade. It shouldn't be too difficult getting an A if you make sure to read the book/lectures, complete the study guides she gives out, attend labs, and study all your labs. It's a pretty straightforward class. She also curves tests based on the second highest score.

I took her BIO 110 class and to me it was pretty chill (maybe because I like bio). Anyway, her lectures sometimes are boring, but she is very passionate on what she does. She helps you a lot in lab with the handouts. For Bio 110 a presentation is required, so beware of that. This class for me was pretty decent.

Great teacher! She is always willing to help any questions you have on the material. I took two classes with her, general bio and botany. Her forte is botany and she really knows what she is talking about. More terminology to remember for botany and if you have been out of school for awhile, taking general bio first will help immensely.

Nice professor. Her online bio course is a bit difficult, but what science class isnt hard? In order to get a good grade you will need to study the textbook and podcasts she provides. Quizzes are hard if you are not prepared. Not amazing but would take again. Easy work, and not a ton of assignments. Quizzes every 3 weeks. STUDY and youll be fine
