She is incomprehensible. Take someone else if possible.
Try to avoid her if possible!
Simple exams and online hw. Pretty easy. Strict with the rules and took the whip to my roommate who is a bum.
Sure, she is incomprehensible at times, but if you use your common sense, you can figure out what she's saying most of the time. Notes are straightforward, and tests are easy. Just do well on tests, do the online homework, and participate in class for BONUS.
I agree that her English is not the best, and her voice is extremely annoying, but the class is SO EASY. What more do you want?
hHer voice really hard to listen too. Her lectures are very disorganized , and to follow. She write on sheets of paper on a projector , and then another sheet so its hard to follow. She talks about the different definitions in a way that makes a easy concept really difficult to understand..
She is very difficult to understand, which makes it harder to focus during her class. I am not the best at micro to begin with, but she is not very helpful either. I would take someone else, unless you're phenomenal at this subject.
Hard to understand. If you get her and don't plan on reading the text book then don't buy it. She never uses it. Homework is online. Overall I do not advise you to take her. I hear the other teachers are much better and easier.
I don't get why everyone is complaining. The class is SUPER EASY. She occasionally gives out bonus points (average points) if you GO TO CLASS.
She is easy to understand and she is not at all In comprehensive. The students who never come to class complain. If you come to class and follow the class notes it is an easy class.
Great class. Easy to understand and easy to get a good score if you come to the class.
You can barely understand her. She is a nice lady, but does a terrible job teaching this class. I WOULD NOT recommend her...
She did a great job. I highly recommend this class. It is not difficult to understand her class if you regularly go to class.
Great class.
Tannista works very hard to teach this class. Great teacher, I highly recommend this class.
This is my best class.
She is a wonderful teacher..but you MUST go to class.. I received an A in the class.. she gives extra points for coming to class.. BUT u must read the book.. Go to her office hours.. she is a NICE lady.. and very helpful..she gives notes and practice questions to help you for the test.. TAKE HER CLASS !!!!
This class was difficult. I thought her lectures were hard to understand, even though I never missed a class. Her first test was hard, the middle two were easier, but the final was RIDICULOUS. The practice test was not helpful. Overall, she is a nice person but take someone else if you can.
I did very well in this class. The curve of grades at the end helped a lot. If you go to class you will understand the lecture and the exams. She provides online notes and practice questions which were always helpful. My roommate always complained about this class but he never showed up in class. I recommend this class very highly.
Made an A, but I hated this class until I went to her for help during office hours and she was VERY helpful. A few practice questions were used on tests, 2nd test was entirely practice questions, but the final was crazy and my hardest final of the semester. I hate micro, so maybe if you like it it won't be as bad.
I liked this class a lot. She was always available during her office hours and was very helpful. Class notes were posted online and was clearly written. Exam grading was fast and fair.
Great class!!
Very helpful and nice teacher.
Nice organized class. She is very nice and helpful
My best class in Auburn. Organized class notes and good lectures. Always helped me when I went to her office.
Easy to get an A in this class. Exams are fair and based on the class notes. She also provides credit for class attendance. She has an accent but explain things very well and provides good notes. Highly recommended class.
TAKE HER! Tests are pretty much exact to practice questions if not the exact ones, organized print out notes, sweet as can be and willing to help. Class isn't mandatory but gives bonus points for coming on random days. Accent really isn't a problem. Easy A. She explains practice questions better than her lectures! TAKE HER, best Econ teacher!
Great class! Excellent class notes, good explanation and fair exams. Very helpful professor.
Great class, can be boring. Overall she will help out the class if they are not doing so hot. I took the first exam and made a 75, but somehow ended up with an A as my midterm grade. Don't buy the book you will NEVER use it.
take someone else
My best class in Auburn. Very helpful and good teacher. Practice questions are very useful. I only hear complains from students who never go to the class. Take her, great class!!
Good teacher, good class.
Pretty easy going class. Exams are very similar to the practice questions she hands out. Whatever you don't understand, go to her and ask her about it in office hours. She is VERY helpful there. EASY "B". Very doable "A".
I would not recommend her. She is difficult to understand due to her accent, and if math does not generally come easy to you, you will be confused. She is very helpful... But to me, her tests were hard. If economics is not your forte, DO NOT TAKE HER. Take Finck. Like I'm about to have to do.
I am not sure why the last comment said that tests were hard. Reasonable tests. I would highly recommend her. Very helpful teacher. Doable A if you regularly go to the class.
If you can take her for Int. Micro do so. She was great. She cares about her students. Makes you think a lot, but that's because the material is tough. Her tests were straight forward and fair. If you go to class and actually care about your grade, making an A is very do-able.
She truly wants her students to learn. She provides numerous practice problems. There is definitely a correlation between attendance and your grade. Take her if you have the chance!
She is a really nice and helpful teacher. She has an accent, but I got used to it quickly. I didn't find this class to be hard, but hard to find the motivation to go. Fairly easy class! I wouldn't recommend skipping it though.
Easy A, Tests are taken straight from practice questions (Which she gives and goes over in class) and lectures. Going up to the board and doing a practice question will add points to your overall grade as well as showing up on random days. All my friends hate me because of the easy A I got in this class while they got harder teachers. TAKE HER
The final was unnecessarily hard, and Auburn is nice enough to cut off your ability to review the course after you take the final. So, here I am! Don't miss class! She hands out review questions, and if you weren't there, you don't get them. I was sick, and had a doctor's not but it didn't matter to her. She is also hard to understand.
She gives practice tests in class and for the tests she takes the questions straight from there. The final was way harder then the other tests. She goes fast through her notes and is a little difficult to understand but overall a good teach. Do not miss a test since the make up is hard. Gives a lot of extra credit though.
Her lecture notes are very clear. Plenty of examples. Overall good class.
She is a teacher who explains her material really good but her lectures can be so long. The bright side to her class is that her test questions come from her study guides so it is definitely doable to get an A in her class. Also, make sure you go to class because she will give out the study guides on random days.
Go to class and get the test study guides and you will do fine. Most exam questions are straight from them. You'll need a myeconlab account but you have unlimited submissions on the homework questions, so there's no reason not to have 100 homework grade. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. You will not need the textbook AT All.
Getting past her accent is a bit difficult, but she explains very thoroughly for the most part. The book is not especially necessary, just listen well in class and take comprehensive notes. She is ready to answer any questions you may have, in or out of class. Hold on to practice problems -very useful for studying for tests.
Very clear class notes. She explains material very thoroughly. Helpful outside the class.
She is extremeellllyyyyyy hard to understand. She has a very heavy accent. I found that I could not take notes and try to understand what she was saying at the same time. I had to do one or the other. She's sweet but I would not reccommend.
She is a great teacher. Her accent is a little difficult to get past, but its doable. She give A TON of extra credit opportunities. I would take her again. Don't skip her class, it won't make any since if you do.
She was super hard to understand, but if you showed up to class and got all of the study guide sheets the tests are easy. She hands them out on random days so going to class every day is kind of important.. Also do as much extra credit as you can, it can really help at the end of the semester
She is a great teacher. My best class so far.
Overall the class is pretty easy. Test questions are straight from the practice questions that she hands out. She is very hard to understand though and her lectures weren't helpful at all. Final was pretty fair, overall it was an easy course because the practice Qs she hands out.
Her lectures are very clear. Tests are fair. She is a good and helpful professor.
My best class in Auburn.
Doable A if you follow the class. Great class.
She is a very boring lecturer. Honestly I had to teach myself because she did not explain the material well. But if you study and go to class to get handouts and bonus points an A is possible.
TAKE HER. Economics was not a subject that clicked with me, but her exams are very fair if you go to class and get the practice questions. Final was optional this semester.
My best class in Auburn. Amazingly caring professor.
Don't recommend. Ended up dropping the class halfway through the semester. She is very knowledgeable about the subject, but not a good teacher. She is often difficult to understand, which is bad for a class as difficult as micro. 3 tests and an optional final. But if you tank the tests, you're screwed because they're heavily weighted.
She is a very good teacher. I heard some students struggling and complaining because they did not go to her class. If you do not go to the class then it is difficult to do well in this class. Take her.
Always available during office hours. Dr. Banerjee went above and beyond to help her students. Attendance is not mandatory but recommended.
Very organized course. Highly recommended.
She is a good teacher.
Initially I was not going to the class. After the first test I started going to her class and my understanding of the material and performence improved amazingly. She goes beyond and above to help students.
Go to class. Get the handouts. Get a good grade. The tests have similar and sometimes exactly the same questions as the worksheets she hands out in class. The online homework isn't fun, but you can answer until you get it right. Nice teacher. The lecture is boring, but just go to class in case she gives out a handout. The final is optional.
Go to class to get the review question packets because a lot of those are direct test questions.
Dr. Banerjee knows her stuff. She lectures and gives review questions that help alot on the exams. Personally, I didn't click with her teaching style until later in the course and because of how heavily weighted her tests are I didn't do as well as I waned. She's very helpful in office hours. Go to class. Get the review packets. You'll do fine
Very difficult to understand what she is saying due to accent. Gives a lot of online homework, but you can retry most problems and still get full credit. She gives out practice tests and worksheets that have questions that are word for word identical to those on the tests. Gave two points on my final grade for being in class one day. Easy class
She gives out practice worksheets that are word for word on the test so I just went to get those. People say she gives extra credit. They're lying. She chose one day to give extra credit and it only added 2 points to your average. I hated the way she did her class but the homework was easy and the tests were easy if you knew what to study.
If you go to class, you will pass because she gives worksheets with questions that are word for word on the test. She also knows what she is talking about and is accessible outside of class. The final is optional. She did give one extra credit opportunity which was just showing up to her class and you received two points to your average. Take her.
Dr. Banerjee explains material very well. It took me sometime to click the class. But after the first week everything was good. If you go regularly to the class the class is very interesting.
Very well respected teacher. Take her.
Dr. Banerjee explains material very thoroughly.
her tests are only 20 questions but she basically gives you all of the test questions in class. theres not a lot of cushion from homework and stuff so really make sure to study her handouts.
Her class is very interesting and I learn many new things in this class. She explains the material clearly in the class and are available outside the class.
My best class in Auburn because of the organized lecture and availability of the professor when I had confusion about the material.
I am not an econ major but the class was very interesting because of the professor's teaching style.
The professor explains concepts very clearly. She was always available during her office hours. Very helpful outside the class.
Take her. Very helpful and caring professor.
This class is very boring mostly due to her very thick Indian accent. She moves through material quickly and constantly is making graphs instead of focusing on the slides. She does give practice questions which is basically the same as the test so be sure to attend class to get those. The test is difficult and you don't need the book.

She gives practice questions which is basically the same as the test so be sure to attend class to get those. The test is difficult and you don't need the book.
She is very helpful in and outside the class. The professor makes sure that we understand the concept and explains study materials in detail. The class is very interesting and related to real world application.
Can hardly understand her when she talks and she's very rude, essentially the whole class is based around 3 tests.
Did well in highschool in Econ but not here. Tests are hard, but if you get the handouts it helps some but I don't feel like I'm learning anything... except how to memorize the handouts. She gives a little extra credit if you show up for class. Homework only counts 10%... don't recommend this class.
She gives worksheets in class and some of the test questions come from that. Your grade is based on 3 tests and a homework grade. She is very hard to understand and focuses more on drawing graphs instead of learning the concepts behind it. The final is 20 questions and insanely difficult.
I did well on the exams and the exams are not difficult. The course was difficult at the beginning but it becomes more understandable and easy as I started going to the class. Also the handouts were helpful.
Dr. Banerjee made an exception and graded my test despite the fact that I forgot to bubble the test. Take her.
Banerjee was a strict grader but made a lot of effort in the class.
The classes were long and boring. You do not need to go to class unless you get the review sheets for her tests. Those are helpful and almost always exactly the test. I'd take another teacher if you can.
Banerjee did an excellent job teaching this class last semester. Teaching a big class is not easy because students are not willing to participate. I spoke to my friends in the class and we did not want to intereact because of the size of the class. But Banerjee made an effort to make sure that we understand and have enough practice material.
Great class. Helpful professor.
Always available outside the class during office hours. Organized and helpful.
She gives out practice sheets which are basically the tests. Each test is around 20 questions. Easy class if you go and barely listen. I suggest tutoring if you want to understand the material. If you do the homework you can easily boost your grade. Only used the book for Pearson code.
Incredibly hard, she rates herself on here, I took her class last semester and some how came out with an A after pulling several all nighters for the final. Drop while you still can.
Ive taken her class before and didnt go and failed real hard lol but if you actually go youll learn a lot. And I recommend taking it over the summer bc you dont have the online hw and all the reviews are EXACTLY like the test!! Go to class fr its not mandatory but itll help a lot. And if you dont go to class, actually study
She's an amazing professor. Offers extra credit. Go to class and do the extra problems and you will do with the class.
Awful class based on 3 tests she does not present information well. I learned more in high school Econ
Doesn't teach the material well at all. Often leave the lecture having no clue what she just talked about. She is somewhat rude and doesn't seem to care much at all about her students. Class is test heavy, with only 3 tests and a final. I'm pretty sure almost any other professor could do a better job at teaching this material. Don't take her class.
One of the most frustrating professors I've ever had. She makes absolutely no sense so no one bothers to show up. The tests aren't too bad, usually, copy and paste from reviews we do in class. Go to class if you get her because she gives out extra credit randomly.
She is awesome and so nice. You will easily pass the class if you show up and watch her work out the practice questions for each section, the tests are literally the same practice questions with different numbers. Weekly homework, but it is easy and takes under 30 minutes to do.
She is difficult to understand due to her Indian accent. You do get used to it, but it takes a long time. Show up to class because she does give 1 point added to your overall grade, but it is random. She did it 3 times this year. Study the handouts she gives because those are basically the test.
She works very hard to make sure that we understand the class. Tests are fair. She is helpful if you go to her office.
The practice questions are EVERYTHING. She will randomly do extra credit once a month so be sure to go to every class. Know the material well enough to successfully do practice questions because the final will be those questions.
Do the practice questions. Often she'll give some out right before the quiz and those same questions will be on the quiz. Go to class and you might be fine. I say might because her accent is a bit hard to get past at first, but the material (her notes not the powerpoints) are in canvas. Study the notes, watch her to the examples, and practice.
Loved this class!! The lectures can be boring, but it is very very easy to get an A. She uses a lot of real life examples and gives lots of practice problems to help prepare for tests. She also gives extra credit for attendance randomly. Would highly recommend!!!
I rarely went to class except for test days, and I got a high B. Tests are just like the practice questions. Does a good job explaining material whenever I went to class. Gives 2 random extra credit for showing up to class.
Professor Banerjee was actually a wonderful professor. The tests are very similar to the midterms. You get three tests, homework and the final which overall was not that bad. Final will be fine if you get a basic idea of the concepts she teaches. There are two random extra credit opportunities which helped. Overall, not too bad.
The class is composed of 100 points. She gives practice questions which are super helpful. Her lectures are pretty confusing and she is hard to understand sometimes. I didnt study a lot but I also had no idea what was happening and I attended every lecture. She is a nice lady!
This class was fully online with no lectures. She provides short overview of notes for lecture videos which are very unhelpful. I didn't look at the textbook at all and did fine in the class. You only use notes posted and you get graded by only by 5 quizzes, 2 midterms a final. You must do good on those assignments for an A.
This class was super boring but all together really easy. she goes over questions before each test and if you are there for those then you are fine because that is the exact test basically. super easy and homework due every week but easy stuff.
sometimes trying to understand what she's explaining is difficult. like the whole class would be confused at the same time. other than that she's good at lecturing. homework doesn't always perfectly line up with what you did in class but its an easy google.
I would not recommend taking this class if you don't want to sit through confusing lectures while trying to stay awake. She does a subpar job at explaining the material and your entire grade basically depends on 4 tests because the homeworks have basically zero weight on your grade
Super nice teacher, very understanding of missing a test if you have a school excuse. Gave lots of extra credit opportunities, just hard to sit through some of the lectures.
Would avoid if possible. Sure she gives two extra credit opportunities BUT her lectures are hard to comprehend and she moves fast. If you already have a great grasp of econ you will be fine, however I never took it before and couldn't pass her class. She is definitely no help when you are struggling and just tells you to study your notes
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS FOR MICRO!!! Nothing against professor Banerjee. This class is entirely dependent on three exams and a final. I did very very well on everything except one test and ended with a C in the class. I wish I had dropped this class when I had a chance, there is no chance for redemption.
I just want to make it simple as possible: DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS FOR MICROECONOMICS! Especially when you are just entering the world of economics, and have no basic knowledge, you'll have hard time in her class. However, if you will be taking her class for some reason, just remember one thing: ATTENDANCE AND PRACTICE PROBLEMS.
I thought this was gonna be an easy A all semester since I got 95s on all 3 midterms since I got the practice problems before each exam, which were the exact problems on the exam. And then I get to the final and it was barely cumulative and left the room very mad. About 3/4 of topics in this class were not covered on the final so good luck
Take if you want a micro class that doesn't require a lot of work and studying during the semester besides going to class and memorizing the practice problems she gives in class for the exam. final was very hard compared to rest of exams which was what I least expected and prob could kill my A
Responds to emails quickly. Attendance isn't mandatory. 2 random bonus opportunities only if you are in class those days. She gives out practice problems which are super helpful and similar to the unit tests. Last week of class she was exposed to covid so we weren't able to review and the final was difficult and nothing like any practice problems.
just don't take her. i memorized old tests and that is the only thing that got me through. i didn't learn a single thing in class. 3 exams. takes your best 10 homework grades out of 12 and you can't see your grade for the class until after you've taken the final.
honestly i didn't love the way she taught bc she was kinda hard to understand and went fast but her tests are literally the practice problems she goes over in class which makes it soo easy to do good. sometimes she would change up the questions a little so know the ideas but sometimes she wouldn't at all. final was easy too TAKE HER !!
Such a boring class. And you won't learn much. Just take it from someone else.
Very sweet woman. Takes the best 10 out of 12 of your homework grades at end of the semester. Homework is due every Sunday night. Three exams before the final and the tests are very similar to the practice problems. Very low maintenance class.
So easy online. There are zoom meetings but she doesn't take attendance. Quizlets for every quiz and she drops your lowest one, there's 2 midterms but they are both easy. But don't take this class if you want to learn something because to be frank I learned nothing but it was an easy pass with no effort.
Tanista's class is a mixed bag - the tests are straightforward if you memorize the practice problems, but the final can be tricky. Unstuck study helped me stay on top of the material.
Very easy course online. If you take notes the exams are straight from the slides. Easy to communicate with via email. Clear grading rubric, easy to get an A.
Don't take her. All she does is read off slides. I asked a classmate a question in class and she called us out and told us to leave or share our conversation to the class. Don't recommend.
The lectures weren't very clear and did not translate well when it came time for the test. This is the first class I received below a B.
Great class. Clear expectations. She is very helpful if you ask for help.
The online course for microeconomics was easy, and she posted all her lectures and had plenty of helpful videos. Very accessible outside of class, very helpful.
