Awful professor! The students were more knowledgable on the subject SHE was supposed to be teaching, yet she was the most difficult marker I have encountered in University.
This Professor was the worst Professor I have ever had in my University career. She is one of those people that seem to be out to get everyone. Everyone in the class were always complaining about something. In addition, she was very lazy. She lost students work and refused to give a mark and she had no idea what she was teaching!
Very hard marker and awful teacher. Her favorite response to any question is “I’m from different background, you should talk to XXXX about that.” It is too late for me to switch the classes, but save yourself.
You know what happens when a professor with no background in religion teaches Christianity in Context? NOTHING!She doesn't know anything! I would never take her class again.
Very tough marker even though she does not think so. She is still a very good professor with a wealth of information. The only knock is that she does have everyone concerned about grades so early that we don't look at the material the way we should
she talks too fast and doesn't explain things at all. She is really bad at lectures - thank gawd Tony Michael is the second prof in that class because if it was just her I would be lost and completely uninterested. I don't understand how she is at york AND u of t?!?
Terrible, the worst prof i have. She always talks about her assignments and exams as being pretty straight forward and easy, when they are actually pretty difficult.
I was initially excited to take this class b/c I love studying world religions, and now this is the worst class ever. 1)She says she isn't biased, but clearly she is, especially towards Christianity. 2)She doesn't tell you where she gets her marks for the exam 3)she doesn't answer your questions. 4)(Advice:Don't take this class, you'll regret it)
She's an okay Prof, as long as you keep up with the reading, and study for the tests, you'll do fine. Her tests are pretty straight forward. The midterm and fianl exams were both really easy, if u studied and paid attention in class, as she gave us hints on what was going to be on them. The assignments were average, not too difficult.
As long as u attend class, keep up with the reading, study a bit for the test, u'll do fine. All the quizzes are straight forwad, and the midterm and exam were both pretty easy if u paid attention in class. The only things that were a bit difficult were the 2 assignments. Would recommend this class to anyone.
This is by far the worst teacher I have ever had!! I was initially excited to study world religions, but this is far for anything like that. Although her quizzes do come from the text, she admits to putting on some 'trick' questions. There's something obviously wrong if your TA admits that she follows the bell-curve! Would NOT recommend this class
This is not a bird course; but it is unquestionably fair. I study for her quizzes and know the material well, but always get tripped up on a question. Despite being frustrating, it's fair and square. People need to learn to study properly; if you jsut read the slides she posts and expect an A then you're dreaming. Great course for good students.
really unfair and doesn't listen to students to help them when they have problem. nobody is getting high marks and she doesnt care about her students
Extremely boring lectures, but the material got pretty straight forward as the class progressed. Fortunately, I didn't have her as my TA, and therefore got a good grade.
She makes it extremely evident that she has her Phd by using big words when unnecessary. Asking for clarification on a concept leaves you confused as bigger words are used!!! She isn't helpful as her communication skills are WEAK!! By far, a HORRIBLE PROF!!!!!!!!!! Very, very full of herself! AVOIDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!
can't teach
Worst experience. Luckily there is 30% participation/homework. However marked assignments are completely unclear what she is looking for. She doesn't read the textbook and either can't answer questions or gives blatently incorrect answers. She ends 3 hour classes after 1 or 1.5 hours every week. Most incompetent teacher ever had.
Don't know what she does, but it is not teaching. However, I did learn a lot about how she likes to listen in on random peoples' conversations
Worst professor I've had for my first year and possibly ever will. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to use rate my prof. She relies on the students and the textbook to get through the day. 20-30% is homework/participation. Lack of preparation. DO NOT TAKE HER COURSES.
There's no point in coming to class, she's pretty much reviewing your readings, you get homework every single week like high school and then you submit it online. It's definitely not my learning style, I feel pretty tied down in this class.
She doesn't know how to teach at all
Critical analysis assignments were difficult because there was no formal guideline regarding the structure of these assignments. To score a 'decent' grade, students must articulate their thesis and arguments in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, familiarity with regards to the course material is vital for success in this course.
In addition to the last comment, the Professor marks "fair" if you are willing to put in a considerable amount of time and effort to fulfill the requirements of the assignments. Although this course is tough, the course context is worthy of consideration. Remember, it is not realistic to even dare to dream about easy marks in third year seminars.
She is THE worst prof I have ever come in contact with at York (and I've been there for 4 yrs now). Not only is she not helpful, she has no idea how to lead a seminar. She just summaries the texts book readings and asks the class questions on them without giving a greater insight. She doesnt even explain what she wants from essays. RUN AWAY!!
She's difficult to get through with. Not very considerate, or consistent. Needs to focus on needs of students (yes that entails answering students questions in class) not saying we got to move on, theres lots to do. Assigning homework (discussions questions to be handed in) and posting them the day before class, is not acceptable nor appreciated.
The WORST and HARDEST prof i've ever had!. Utterly USELESS, takes forever to respond to emails, no help at all, vague, she like to show off her phd by rambling and further confusing/complicating concepts. Lectures are dull and vague, she just reads off short slides that just summarize readings. Also WOST marker ever (class average is around 60%)
This is the most boring, difficult and useless prof ever! Doesn't teach, just has 2 hour class discussion about readings, goes off topic all the time, isn't clear about what she wants in reading responses/essays, and a horrible marker. 1/2 the class dropped and I wish I did too. Don't take any class with this prof!
This prof doesn't teach, just takes up the readings. She shouldn't be teaching at all. Don't take her courses.
Completely useless! Boring, just reads her slides and repeats everything 5 times. Terrible lectures, terrible personality, sometimes she just needs to shut up. If you want to hate school, take any of her classes. Worst prof i have ever had!
She sets herself up in the beginning as a "hard marker" and in retrospect of NOT doing readings and attending class she can be. It's a 3rd year seminar, do the readings, go to class, participate and you'll be fine. NOT A BIRD Course, but what 3/4th yr seminar will be? I got a B. Do readings, take notes, think critically, participate. You'll do fine
worst professor ever. she is unclear, very redundant... refers to herself as a "nerd" every class and states that she will be using hard words so be prepared to constantly be googling these terms that can be clearly expressed in a layman format. Being a good prof means engaging your students and being clear. stay away... honestly...
As i can see im not the only one that thinks Juric is the worst prof ever. Very monotone, boring lecturer who doesnt use examples or explain herself when introducing a new concept and she talks really fast so keeping up with her is next to impossible.
This professor merely reads notes of the readings off her slides. She rarely answers student's questions, and when she does, she changes the subject. She is often at a loss of words an does not convey ideas effectively. Also each time she explained an assignment, the entire objective of it shifted.
Tanja, I hope you are reading this. Please do future students a favor and resign from your job as a professor. You don't have what it takes; you don't have the brilliancy, or the charisma to be a well rounded professor. All you have is knowledge, and that just doesn't cut it if you're going to teach a group of 300+ and get them excited for Law.
By far the most terrible professor at York. The only prof I have seen come consistently late for her own seminars. Only relies on readings to teach. She is a terrible marker too, giving assignments worth 5 marks and rarely ever giving 4 or higher to anyone in the class. She'll sit in front of the class writing notes of what you say for no reason.
Not the best prof I've had at York. Very monotone, her slides were just a rehash of the readings and she just read off the power point in lecture which usually took her 45mins to an hour in a 2 hour time slot. Doesn't even attempt to keep the class engaged and doesn't explain concepts properly. I learned more from the readings, poor quality prof...
Not much use coming to class - all we do is take up the readings. Does not "teach" anything. When giving the exam review she was very "specific" on what to expect from the exam - "Everything we've covered so far"... Extremely hard when marking the response papers, however more reasonable with the final paper and exam
Tanya is a good prof as long as you attend her class and do not "goof off". Be prepared to do the readings and participate maximally if you want a good grade in her class.I enjoyed the class and will definitely take another 3rd year seminar with her if I can
She expects a lot of reading to be done for classes where she essentially restates what the readings were attempting to evoke. The plus side to this is that she puts the readings into context and lays out all the necessary information on her slides. There are no surprises on the exam, as she gives a clear review.
Worst professor I have ever had at York. Marks based on her own personal beliefs (if she likesagrees with your argument), rather than if you have a strong, clearly presented and well-written argument. Couldn't get anything over a 65% in her class when I was getting 80's in all my other classes. Don't take this seminar, you'll regret it.
Just don't take this class. She doesn't care about the students. Makes you participate but doesn't even listen when you do. Hardly guides the lectures and just gives you questions for each week so you can come to class and recite them. HORRIBLE marker.
Do not take any of her classes. She is does not know how to teach she is the antithesis of how to teach and guide a class. She is shockingly immature in her behaviour coming late to class by anywhere from 10-20 minutes regularly. Her assignments have no criteria. The class is structured terribly; vague response assignments, off topic discussions
Horrible prof! Extremely hard marker and never gives good feedback. Probably the worse experience I had with a professor ever.
Tanja Juric is the WORST prof at york university. She pulls marks out of thin air, and when confronted about grades sticks with the "I dont have to change them". Watches her laptop the whole class and does not teach. Has no control over the class and lets students be disrespectful to each other. If she is the professor of the course - drop it
One of the most disengaging profs I have ever seen. She speaks in a boring monotone voice and constantly reading off the slides and always going off topic too many times. She likes to crack jokes that not even funny which is worse when I'm trying to understand the content!! Don't bother with her anywhere please I'm begging you.
She incorrectly answered students questions repeatedly leaving them unsure and having to ask TA's for clarification because she refused to answer or address important questions.
The driest teacher I have ever come across, I'm extremely grateful for my TA because he actually makes the material interesting. She stands there and just reads off the slides she creates for 2 hours. Would not recommend her but do recommend the course
Not really the best prof but not reallly bad either. She could be miles better if she abandons her usual style of reading off the slides and going overboard with her explanations
I took introduction to social science with her. Although she is a great professor, what she taught us in the course did not cover introduction to social science at all! we studied about consumerism in the first semester and about fairs and festivals in Canada, and also different social movements in the second semester. that's not what i signed up f
although this is a general education course to me, I wasted so many hours on this course. The lectures are really boring.
SOSC1000 Tanja's SOSC1000 class is graded extremely simply. 4 papers, anywhere from 2-4 pages. 2 Do not need to be in essay format, 2 do. They are simply papers discussing definitions she has GIVEN to you in lecture. There are 2 exams, one midterm and one end term. Consists of simple definitions and broad essay questions. I recommend taking.
She came to class late quite a few times. Seminars are not particularly interesting but aren't the worst either. Easily one of the hardest markers I have come across in my 5 years at YU. If you have another option, take that one.
While the coursework was easy, it isn't really an Intro to Social Science. Lectures dry, boring, and not necessary for your grade. Lectures between units don't connect, rather disjointed. Lectures also basically a summary of the textbook, but overexplained using fancy words. Prof shows up late, cancels often, poor classroom management.
Terrible proff. Better off just going to the tutorials as it will teach you way more than the lectures. However, easy class, just make sure you know the terms at the end during finals and midterms and read the slides to get a little understanding for the essay responses
Not an engaging prof. Content chosen for course was very dry. Material chosen for the course didn't really reflect Social Science, rather students were expected to infer use of social sciences to the material in an introductory course? Expected to regurgitate info for tests, so no surprises, but a lot of terms to possibly know.
Teacher doesn't give you the lecture slides at all, and the terms given have nothing to do with the actual readings. How are you supposed to actually know what you are to define, if the readings have nothing to do with the terms? She talks super fast and is so hard to understand and doesn't even consider us. Thank GOD FOR THE TAS who actually work.
This prof is too boring.
ridiculous, this professor does not care about students, and made this super intense summer course the hardest it could be. 20 pages of reading every day, the test seems easy and full of choices, but the marking scheme was not clear at all. and she made student to leave test because they use driver license not york ID.
Most difficult course I ever took. Never take a 6-credit course in 1.5 months. Heavy reading (20-30 pages/day). Unavailable to talk before and after lecture, long lineup for office hours. Almost never responds to emails. Talks too fast, no break (2 hours). No recordings or slides posted even for some students who have learning accommodations
She starts to speak at a monotone volume and only reads the power point. 4 assignments and 2 midterms. If you do the readings you will get the grade you want no need to go the lectures because she won't tell you anything different than the slides.
Tanja Juric's class was the worst class I have ever taken. She lectures at a monotone level and reads off of the powerpoint slides. The TA I had (Kalpana) was horrible, she was not clear with her marking, very unhelpful, marked at a very high standard and would not clear doubts. She expected all doubts to be cleared through reading material.
Tanja clearly tells you what you will be tested on when it comes to the midterm and final exam which is super helpful. Study exactly what she tells you and you'll do really well. Her lectures can be repetitive sometimes so it can get boring. She also relies on the readings heavily
Super boring. I went to about two lectures and gave up. Still passed with a good grade tho.
very unorganized, always gives assignment instructions 2-3 days before and also does not post the instructions! stopped posting lecture slides because students did not participate in group work in the LECTURE, did not know this course came with two tutorials. would not recommend taking any class with her unless you want to go through hell!
I suggest that if you are taking sosc 1000 do not take it with her. She is not clear at all there are over 60 definitions that you must know for the test and she only chooses 5 from those 60. The test is 5 definitions and 2 short answers worth 20%. she wont post lectures. For a FIRST year course they are expecting way too much. SO BORING.
Terrible and very boring i advise you never take her class. there are over 60 definitions and she only chooses 5 for the test.
The worst prof that Ive ever encountered at York. Assigns 20-50 pages of reading every week. All her lectures are literally reading off the slides and gives vague assignment instructions a few days before its due and speaks at a monotone level. If I were you, I would not take any courses with her if you want a good gpa.
The worst prof that Ive ever encountered at York. Assigns 20-50 pages of reading every week. All her lectures are literally reading off the slides and gives vague assignment instructions a few days before its due. If I were you, I would not take any courses with her if you want a good gpa.
The worst prof I've ever encountered at York. Lectures with a montotone voice and is not accessible outside of class. The worst of all is that she refuses to post powerpoints even though many of the slides have very heavy content. If I were you, i'll stay away from this prof and save your gpa.
Does not post slides or lecture recordings. I learned more in my tutorial than I ever did in class. Lectures are very long as she tends to reiterate the same topics over and over again. Good thing is that the work is very light. very few assignments and tests but lots of heavy readings.
Tanja Juric would have to be the worst professor that I have encountered at York University. I simply dont understand why they hire people who hate their jobs. Im pretty sure there are better professors who actually enjoy teaching and wont make it miserable for students. She taught horrible and read everything off the slides and does not post it
Tanja's lectures are extremely boring and dreadful. My friends and I struggled to come to lectures but only got through them because of each other. I took SOSC 1000 (worth 6 credits). The course itself is a breeze and super chill but the lectures make you want to fall asleep. Highly recommend buying the textbook for unit 1,2 & 4. Unit 3 is a waste.
This was a good course. Go to class and tutorials (slides are not on Moodle), take notes from the weekly readings, and participate. Here is the Grade breakdown: - Tutorial Participation 20% - Unit 1 Assignment 10% - Unit 2 Assignment 10% - In-Class Test 1 20% - Unit 3 Assignment 10% - Unit 4 Assignment 10% - In-Class Test 2 20%
She is actually a great lecturer. She can really grasp your attention, and makes you want to contribute. However, outside of the lecture you will never hear from her. She lets the TA's run the course and evaluate you as they wish, and if you email her with any problem, even regarding an issue with the TA, she wont answer.
Literally the worst prof ever. Despite the few good ratings, LISTEN TO THIS ONE AND STAY AWAY FROM HER. She marks so hard for no reason. She hates her students and hates teaching. Marks everything so late. Does not explain why she gives such bad marks and literally wants all her students to fail. She needs to be fired. WORST PROF IN ALL MY 4 YEARS.
Unfortunately this class has disappointed me on so many levels. Sometimes recorded lectures are not posted on time. Assignments are usually given out within a week of the due date. This class is a bit unorganized and I do not enjoy the course content. The text is dry and boring. This ain't it for me. I want my money back right now.
I really liked her lectures. The only thing I would recommend her do is be more involved with the TAs. My TA was absolutely terrible and when I complained to her about it she didnt do anything and said I should solve my problem with the TA personally.
She talks like she has a speech disorder, boring lectures, the course was entirely based off of required readings which were 30-40 pages long a week. Does not respond to emails. If you have her as a teacher for your class, it probably would be best for you to switch courses.
Very boring prof, has vague slides and just talks through the lectures, half the time I had no idea what she was talking about. if you're a visual learner the lectures will be a pain. Super heavy on boring readings. Content was also boring. Very lenient with deadlines though, seemed understanding. but don't take this prof
TA sucks, exam questions are vague and not clear on what she wants, marking scheme is horrendous, does not specify the mistakes I made, boring monotone lectures, if you email her she gives you repetitive nonsense that doesn't seem to help at all. Do not take the course, avoid at all costs, she should get her ass fired for dropping people's GPAs.
Please DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH TANJA.The prof itself is nice but she doesn't teach anything in lectures, assigns a lot of readings and a few of the TA's aren't very helpful. You really don't learn anything in this course and its honestly pretty boring. I would drop it but it's already December so.. save yourself and listen to us lol
Does not respond to emails in a timely matter. Takes very long to mark. Takes off marks for no reason.
You'll never hear from her outside of lectures, she doesn't care for you. Any issue you say to her she will pass you onto your TA, and if you have a bad TA, good luck. She assigns an absurd amount of reading every week, and just rambles about random stuff during her lectures. Her only redeeming quality is the assignments and tests are decently easy
Not helpful, wastes class time, all around an awful prof. Don't take sosc with her.
Content and readings were interesting but she unfortunately cannot teach. During lectures she was constantly running out of time and unable to get through all her slides because she would talk about everything and nothing. Going to tutorial is absolutely necessary to pass this course, especially because slides (that lack much info) aren't uploaded.
Please don't be like me and think that she won't be as bad as people say. She will be even worse than you can imagine and you'll see that you are not exempt from the experience, save yourself the misery and stress and choose a different course/prof :)
She does not record lectures, and the slides are practically bare (if she does post them). She doesn't stay on topic and assumes you know the content when it has not been taught. Not very captivating during the lecture. If you don't need her class don't take it!!!
worst teacher get her fired, she said she would post a list of definitions of the exam which is like 60, only picked 5 for the exam and never gave us the list. boring lectures boring teacher bad teacher never take her class
Her lectures are boring and unstructured, and her communication is very disorganized. Oh, she changes assignment requirement only one week before submission...(after you have completed it!!!) It's very disappointing that she teaches social science course, which is supposed to be interesting and thought provoking.
Please do NOT take her class. She can not give any useful information; she is only mumbling. She is not giving marks, but your tutorial leader does, and my tutorial leader is giving me an unfair grade. I reached out to the professor about this problem, and she never responded. Be ready for a lot of reading. This semester, I read 500 pages
She doesn't teach anything in class, but instead makes the students give presentations. That is fine, but her assignment criteria are unclear and convoluted. If there are any other lecturers available, please take their classes instead.
Prof. Juric is severely disorganized in her teaching which unfortunately puts her students at a disadvantage. It has been almost a month into this 3 credit course and we are only just going over the syllabus.
She is a good person but often does not know what she is talking about/ starts going on and on and expects students to keep up with her. She gave us in lecture questions to answer for participation for 10% of our grade and the questions almost never made sense as all the students would beg her to clarify the question several times.
- Professional yapper - PHD of yapping
Would not take again.
It's a genuine achievement on her part to be able to talk for 2 hours about a topic not even related to the course. Lectures are honestly pointless to go to It's been a month in this course, and she's talking about the syllabus.
AVIOD AVIOD AVIOD
Genuinely a horrible prof. Made the mistake of ignoring these reviews and now I missed the course change deadline date. If anyone is thinking of taking this course with her, PLEASE DON'T. She talks about the syllabus and spends more then half of the lecture talking about nonsense not even associated with the course.
Prof Juric doesnt give rubrics for assignments, no clear instructions, vague descriptions. As for grading, she lowers grades to keep her class average lower so only people who "truly" deserve a high mark will get it. She is a nice person, just not the greatest professor
Not a good prof whatsoever. Lectures are extremely boring, uninformative, and tries too hard to sound intelligent. Makes us do assignments assessing our studying strategies. Not exactly what that is supposed to help us learn since most of the class had to make up some nonsense to hand in. I've never been more unimpressed with a teacher in my life.
Dr. Juric is extremely unclear with everything she does. Both the lectures and assignment are extremely vague and do not align with course material. Instead, she has us write about our study/learning strategies. As third year students, this is redundant and useless. Her lazy yet confusing assignments are doing us all a disservice. Terrible prof.
Attendance was unnecessary, but she made some class activities that account for 1% grade
With all due respect, she is a good academic. However she is unsuited to be a professor. Her lecture pattern is read off the slides then ramble on about nonsense that is very loosely related to the topic and bores everyone. She has a monotone voice that easily loses your attention. Also, she is not very good at communicating her expectations.
Some people just aren't meant to teach. I hope she leaves her role and allows for someone actually qualified to take on this role.
Professor Juric's course was challenging to navigate. Communication was often unclear, and expectations did not always feel consistently conveyed. Support for students could have been stronger, and at times the learning environment was not built for student success.
If you are not religious, I highly recommend you pick one and pray
Does not know what she's doing. Claims to have taught the course for several years successfully, but alumni from 10 years ago have only criticism for her. Nothing about her course makes sense. Truly a feat to create a terrible course, not manage to teach, for TAs to be speaking badly of you and the entire class in consensus on how horrible it is.
WORST prof ever. Consistently off topic during lectures, rambles on about things not even related to the readings. Useless assignments with no clear instructions, lack of organization (we got the syllabus 3 weeks into the semester. OVERALL do not take her classes. Run!
3rd year Law and Society course but she made us do busywork assignments on learning and studying strategies with zero focus on the material. Very dull ‘lectures' where she rambles about the week's topic without direction. It took her a month to give us the syllabus, which was more copy and pasted York info than info on tests or assignments.
Her lectures are mostly pointless rants that have nothing to do with the course. She wastes almost the whole hour on random topics, and if you're lucky, you might get 20 minutes of real content. 2 hours of pure torture
Horrible professor. Worst of the worst. It is generational how bad she is. Rarely can you see a class so unified on a singular notion, Ms Tanja Juric sucks. She is a testament to the quality of York University. Rather than just saying she sucks, I'll explain why. Poor organization, bland and meaningless lectures, and a pissy attitude with criticism
Literally the worst prof ever. The way she handled this course caused me extreme psychological distress.
I would not be surprised if she reviewed herself and bestowed the singular 5 star review. Not going after her quality as a person but as a professor she is the Putin of professors. I don't know how she still is teaching. I find her lack of effort she puts into the organization of her course truly inspirational. I aspire to have her confidence.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER.I can't vouch for other courses coz it's my first time taking a course with this prof (thank god it's the last).Exam review while helpful in terms of knowing what to prepare for, did not make sense mathematically and logically. Anyways, pray and hope for the best with this prof.
Fire this braud bro
Sets you up for failure. Didn't get the syllabus until a month into the course. Assigns elementary level assignments by psychoanalyzing our study methods. Final Exam's less than 2 days away and sends an “updated/new study guide” ONLY to delete it the NEXT DAY (sneaky move). Don't get Yorked and avoid this prof at all cost.
This prof has made me truly question my life decisions to pursue a career in law ... a negative revelation. Unresponsive to emails, clueless about her own assignments, and quite literally just has no sense of awareness. It's beyond a disappointment to receive nothing for the value that we pay for. At this point, anyone is qualified to be a prof!
If you like being sane, 100% recommended not to take any classes with her. Just paid 4 grand for zero knowledge in a whole semester. Switches up syllabus for the final 48 hours before the actual exam, and then deletes the updated syllabus. In full honesty, I did not learn anything in the whole duration of this course and rather had to teach myself.
Incompetency in human form. Who sends an updated exam review 48 hours before a final worth 30% and then DELETES it the next morning? I would not be surprised if she reaches 100 awful reviews by the time the exam is over. Honestly, shame on the faculty for not addressing this earlier because more students have now had to suffer.
It is noteworthy that a Teaching Assistant, working directly for this failure of a Professor, chose to express such strong concern to students, remarking she would be 'livid if we were her kids". What an accomplishment it truly must be to be the subject of many tables due to your remarkable poor performance.
I cannot think of any circumstance in which it would be okay to send a finalized exam review outline at 5:30 pm the day before the exam. That pretty much sums up her teaching.
If you value your sanity, make sure you take this course with any other prof because by the end of it, you'll have officially gone insane. Disorganized and inconsiderate. Multiple complaints made to course directors, however, nothing was officially done, and therefore, students' GPAs will have to suffer for the shameful behaviour endured.
Vouches for mental health awareness (whole tab dedicated to it on Eclass), but contributes to the cause of the entire class' distress this semester. Highlight of this course was when everyone walked out of lecture to make a statement of how terribly structured this course is. Exam is tommorow and just today she sent a final exam guide.
Course felt like a group project where the professor was the member who did absolutely nothing.
RUN! FAR AWAY!
I wanna preface this by saying that professor Juric is sweet and knowledgeable, however I don't think it translates well to students. The course was poorly structured leading to useless assignments that didnt allow students to engage with course materials on an analytical level. I survived bc im academically driven not bc she effectively taught me.
You gotta study hard by yourself.
This class was extremely disappointing. I'm jealous of anyone that gets to experience SOSC3375 With any other prof, I don't know why I had to suffer with an unprepared prof and incompetent TA.
Her lectures tend to not be structured and her assignments are horrendously organized. We did not do an assignment about the course material but instead on how to study at our 3rd year.
