Very clear, helpfull and interesting.
was very nice and explained things really well. if you have any questions at all, she'll help you anytime. made class a little more fun with group work or worksheets. i dont like math at all, and thought the class was pretty good.
Mrs. Sacco is new to ARC but not to teaching. we are very lucky to have her. she is very clear and will always help when you need it. If your not good in math take her class you will succeed in it.
Very nice person. She is very helpful and really tries to make sure everyone grasps the concept.
She was a really great teacher! I learned alot and she was alway very willing to help if you didnt understand any concepts. Definately take her for any math class, she is a little soft spoken but a very nice person.
I had her as I was beginning my math career. She helped to lay a foundation for my algebra class. She demands a lot of work, but it's worth it.
Nice lady, but myself and others in my class had a hard time following what she was doing sometimes. I got my FIRST D in college (I have a lot of units too w/ only 2 C's). I could have done a little better, but I had to miss a few classes for business. GO TO CLASS. She deducts points for missing, even w/ prior notice. A bit too fast too!
if you do your home wrk you'll pass. Sometimes a bit corny, but over all good class.
I took Tanja for Math 25. I think she is an awesome teacher! I wish I could take her for ALL my math classes! She makes things very clear and is extremely helpful! I totally recommend taking her for any math class! Thank you Tanja... you rock!!
Great teacher!!! She is very patient and clear. If a student does not unstanded something she will go over it on the board. Best math teacher I have ever had! I Highly recommend her. Two thumbs up and a twist!
she is a great teacher, very sweet too.she just had a baby so she said she would go easy on us.i highly recommend her because her exams are multiple choice and she lets you use your homework and notes for all the exams including the final.she also gives extra credit. just be in class do your homework and you will do just fine
Gr8888 professor. Everybody like her. She's always upbeat and she has lots of xtra credit. Too bad she doesn't teach 100. T.P. San Jose.
she is really nice. even if you ask a stupid question she will smile and completely make you feel smart. Also she gives extra credit. participate study and you will pass..love her
Sacco's Pre-Algebra class is almost so easy that a kindergarten student could understand it.
Tonja is the best teacher I have ever had. I had her for math 32 and I got an A. She loves math and enjoys helping others succeed. Group quizzes, extra credit, and alot of math games in class. I took math 120 with a different teacher and needed some tutoring and tonja helped me during her office hours and I wasn't even in her class anymore!
she is nice even if your havening a hardtime go talk to her
Shes a sweet person who teaches pretty good. I thought she was a really good math teacher. Shes very helpful and wants everyone to understand it and will help you if theres any concerns. I say this class would be perfect if only she didn't care much for attendance or tardiness
she's patient, always smile eventhough you ask a stupid question, helpful and nice.
Take her. She is the easy teacher. She will help you when you need her. She understand student's life. Take her!!!
shes a great teacher...explains until u get it...very simple and to the point...very clear on expectations....classes go by really quick..super patient and understanding...best ive ever had
soooooo helpful, there is a lot of extra credit opportunities. if u want to learn and get a good grade doing it take her.
Tanja Sacco is very sweet and cares for her students. You need to get the book unless you signed up for mathxl, then you dont need it. There is about 5 tests, lots of group quizes,1 math project, with lots of opportunities for extra credit. If you Take good notes and study hard, you will do good in the class. She bakes cookies and brownies too!Take he
Amazing teacher! Incredibly helpful and understanding. A LOT of extra credit opportunity. Even if you get the answer wrong she'll still give you the e.c. points. I definitely recommend taking her class if you want to pass with flying colors and actually understand what you're learning. :)
Pretty chill teacher, gives you the homework for the whole semester so you can work ahead which you will in this easy course. Tests are easy, and extra credit is given away
Very good prof, if you can, take her with the beacon (next semester its tth for the tutor). I hate math, and I got an A in this course. Lots of chances to succeed, if you have problems in math this professor could help you, I actually understand more of what I'm doing in math now. Between her and the tutor, I learned a lot. Take her mtwth.
Ms. Sacco is a very nice person. As far as work she dose give you the work for the whole semester, so you can work ahead. Unfortuanently she was not as helpful as i imagined.
She is a terrible math teacher. Do not take her if you find math challenging. She moves too fast, does not give clear explanations and actually told someone in our class she did not have time to explain something. It is more important for her to complete the required material than actually making sure her students understand.
She is awesome, one of the best teachers ive had at ARC, she is so easy going, gives extra credit all day everyday, she makes it very easy for you to do well, as long as you pay attention and actually do the work, you should pull off an A no problem.
Ms. Sacco is awesome. Yeah, she is a bit fast paced. But there is quite a bit of material to cover. She gives out a ton of extra credit. And she has a Beacon Tutor that is also extremely helpful. Take any extra credit opportunity, listen, study, go to tutoring, do the HW, come to class.. and I guarantee you will get at least a B in her class.
Prof. Sacco is the best math teacher EVER! She is kind and extremely helpful (she even gave several students the old ed. text). Before this class I was unable to earn a grade higher than a C, and now, because I understand it, I am getting an A. Be sure to use the tutoring services and do your homework, it makes a huge difference.
Dude are you kidding me? best math teacher ive taken. I have already dropped math 120 twice, after taking her i revieced a B. Gives out enough extra credit to where it could bump your grade up a letter, she is the best math teach ive ever taken. i HIGHLY recommend her.
She goes fast, even for someone who did all there homework. Sometimes she's not really clear and doesn't really give examples like the ones in the text book, and that text book kinda really sucked.
She is AWESOME. she makes it very easy to follow and does not mind if you work ahead of her. She gives extra credit and gives many opportunities for help if you are struggling but make sure you do the homework and test corrections and you will be fine. i plan on taking her for math 120.
Sacco is a great professor. She is very organized and knows her material well. Some students complain that she is too fast paced, but she has too be, math 120 covers a lot of material and she does it well. I worked hard in her class and was only able to pull off a "B", but I feel I got the grade I worked for. I highly recommend her for math 120.
very easy to approach with questions, but sometimes the class move a little quick. however she is a very good teacher.
This woman is amazing.I have always struggled with math and I no longer do.she is patient and works with students for students.Light homework.cheap book and great attitude. She has an amazing ability to make you understand math.I highly reccomend her to anyone and wish she would teach pre algebra.I will miss her. AWESOME TEACHER
she is the GREATEST math teacher ever. she give tons of extra credit and a math project. do all the home work and text correction and you will be good. i got an A in math, first time ever!
Professor Sacco was an amazing professor. Made Math a fun subject to learn. extremely helpful and always went the extra mile to ensure students were learning. I will definitely take a class with her if she teaches Math 100 or higher level.
she explain material very quick do not wait for anybody (understand or not) very hard for those who is not very strong in math to fallow her.
Total sweetheart! She goes exactly as the syllabus states. She is always at her office hour and will go to the end of the Earth to help you find the solution. She will not do the work for you though. The homework helped more at times than lecture but the review was very helpful.
Professor Sacco is very organized and soft spoken. She is a great teacher and sticks to the schedule. I recommend her to everyone.
Nothing but good words to say about her. Excellent math teacher, although she does move fast. I wouldn't recommend missing very many days with the amount of material she covers in one class time.
If you need to learn this is the teacher for you. She also makes sure her students do not fall behind.
She is very helpful and does not rush you in her office hour, especially if there aren't other students in line behind you. She assigns homework directly out of the book, and follows a pre set calendar and detailed homework schedules very closely. One side of note card allowed on all exams; both sides for final.
Amazing instructor. I can't see how anyone could get a bad grade in her course, seeing that you will put in the required effort to do well in the class. She is the best instructor I've ever taken.
Sacco is awesome. No, she is not "easy". She wants you to succeed so she won't pass out grades. But, she WILL work will you. She wants you to understand the material and to continue as a successful student. Take her. I struggle with math, but she worked with me. I got the A and I passed the next level math class because of her. Mrs. Sacco cares!
Mrs. Sacco is a really good professor. Everything about the class is predictable and consistent, including the homework, so as long as you read a little of the textbook and do all the assignments (which, admittedly, are time-consuming) you will do fine. She is also ridiculously nice and it's apparent that she wants her students to do well.
Professor Sacco is an exceptional teacher. She cracks down on the people who are disrespectful, but for everyone else the class is easy and not very demanding. She's very helpful too. Forget your homework? Just turn it in the next day. She still signs off on it. Her syllabus is clear and easy to read. She plans the semester before starting. :)
Professor Sacco really cares about her students. If you struggle with math, as long as you show up to class and pay attention, you can definitely pass. If you love math, you will get an easy A in this class.
I think Prof. Sacco was exceptional. Her syllabus is clear cut and she follows it to a T. She makes sure you understand the material and gives so many opportunities for extra credit. Her class may be a bit slow at times, but she makes sure to be thorough and is really kind to the students. Easy going, would definitely take again.
Sacco teaches at a level you would expect from a Algebra 1 class. Her class was interesting yet boring at times. Just do the work and go up for extra credit from time to time and it's an easy A.
Prof. Sacco is amazing! She's the best professor I've had so far. After this class I actually understand math. She's very organized and makes the class interesting. There's tons of opportunities for extra credit, and you'd really have to try to fail. Homework is easy, group quizzes, and tests easier than the quiz. Nicest prof. ever!
BEST Math professor hands down. Don't read any more comments and take her NOW! You will not regret it. She is very nice, polite, smart, and clear in her lectures. There is a lot of extra credit if you want it. I didn't do any and I still passed with an A+. If you struggle in math she will try her best to help you. Just do your homework.
Proff Sacco is very friendly and very helpful. There's plenty of work everyday, but she makes it simple to understand. It's college, so obviously expect to do your own work. If I could I would take her all the way through, but she only teaches up to Calc2. :( Show up, go homework, and you will pass! I got 97% and it's been since 1994.
She's I great professor. She's super friendly and understanding, very helpful. Gives so much extra credit! Just do your HW because you'll get 3x5 card cheat sheet for each tests! Her reviews are almost exactly like the tests! I also bought the student solution book which helped with the steps in the last section of the class!
She is a great teacher. she is very helpful. she goes over lectures everyday so if you miss class you get a little behind.
Professor Sacco, has the ability to make math easy to understand. She cares about her students genuinely. Offers help during class and office hours. H.W. Is checked daily, gives loads of extra credit and reviews are similar to exams no trick questions. Quizzes are random, and allows a 3x5 card on every exam overall a great professor to enroll with.
Very good professor makes math easy, expect homework everyday, quizzes every other day but you can work in groups. She has tons of extra credit opportunities everyday and will drop lowest test score. Super friendly and willing to help.
I'd recommend her for any math class. She's clear, gives out lecture notes and is easy on hw grading (just kinda glances at it). Her study guides are precise and she's a good professor. I recommend taking her in a Mon-Thurs class. Its brief and much better that way. She doesn't use my math lab. Also the book can be obtained for real cheap
beautiful, loving, caring, couldn't ask for a better professor.
Her elementary algebra class moves at a breakneck speed. She shows a few problems on the board and then moves onto the next topic. There were 38 quizzes during the semester (not a typo). I think this class would be fairly easy for those who have an understanding of math, but difficult for those that do not.
Great teacher!! Easiest A of my life. Took the 8 week version and was still an easy A. Lots of extra credit chances.
She gives so many opportunities to do extra credit. She takes off the lowest quiz and test scores. I got an A!! I really wish she was teachings math 120.
Sacco is the sweetest! Her lectures are very clear and she offers so much extra credit, almost a whole grade up if you do it all. Her study guides are EXACTLY like the test. The reason why I got a B is because I got so lazy which I really regret so put your all! She replaces the lowest test score with the final. I would take her again if I could :)
Lowest exam score replaced by the final. Daily homework assigned, but is due before the corresponding exam. Lots of extra-credit opportunities. Single-sided notecard can be used on exams with completion of all HW. Exams are almost identical to study guides. Daily group quizzes. Easy class but you learn lots of calculus!
Sacco is an awesome math teacher and made Calc 1 easy, she will help with any question be easy or hard, she really wants her students to pass. Take her she will not disappoint.
Pros: Super nice teacher, Easy to approach and talk to. Final replaces your worst exam score. You can bring a single sided note card to exams. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. Cons: Lots of quizzes, introduces topics like students know them, and is pretty harsh when grading exams. She will remove 80-90% of a problems credit for ANY mistake.
NOT a communicator! Took her 100 course included with the in-class tutor and was still failing. I talked to her on multiple occasions and asked the most questions about the homework that she really doesn't want to go over. Just lackluster and doesn't really want to stop for questions. A guy is on his 4th sem. with her I took with so...
She is a hard person to communicate with and even welling to help her students
the worst teacher i have ever had stay away from this teacher you have been warned
The exam questions arent from the daily material neither homework she explains things super quick and she is in rush all the time very very very tough teacher dont enroll in her classes you will regret
not an easy class. have to do a lot of hw w 30 quizzes for the semester and five exams. The exams were not easy at all. the 1st and the 5th were okay final was easy. The problem is that she reads the material like a story in the class, Its better to explain things not just reading them, must do practice not students so we know how to solve it
This is my second time taking Math120, first time with Professor Sacco. She made math interesting to me and allows us to solve problems with methods different from her own. There are lots of quizzes but they are done in a group with open notes/book. The homework isn't too heavy for the most part. The study guide matches the types of exam questions.
Tanja is a great professor. She is very thorough in her lectures and will stop to answer questions or even demonstrate a second/third way of doing the problem so that she can reach everyone's learning style. I missed several classes and it did not affect my grade, however I was able to keep up with the class/home work so I'm sure thats why.
Prof Sacco was a great professor. I suck at math. If your upfront with her that you need a good grade in the class she will help you reach that goal. She gives freaking Awesome study guides for chapter exams. The hardest thing in her class was quizzes, she let you wrk in groups. She drops your lowest quiz and allows a tun of xra credit. Take her!
she's an amazing math prof. the best math teacher I've had ever had the way she explains material is amazing and makes it easy too understand. I would take her for every math class if I could!
I wish I knew how horrible and tough she is before enrolling her class. Her class was my nightmare.
An AMAZING teacher. Her teaching style is very easy to understand. She explains Trig in a simple way. She has very neat handwriting, and gives out handouts to fill out during lectures. She makes it easy and will spend the time to help you on office hour. Take her class!
One of the best Math Professor. Very approachable returns email the next day. Do all her homework and reviews to get extra credit. IF you're an A student, I highly recommend to take her class.( LOTS of EXTRA CREDIT) she wants you to understand the concept of the subject rather than focusing on GRADES.
This professor was awesome! Please don't blame the professor for your poor choice of time usage. Show up to class, study, and do the extra credit and you'll pass. She did not like the way she had to rush us but had no choice. The class was fast pace but she explained everything well and answered all my dumb questions. Don't skip class! Be serious!
Even though learning math online is hard I believe there is a lot of freedom in the way she teaches the class. There is usually homework to do and a review and quiz every week. If you plan it out correctly you can do one thing everyday and have your weekends open. She's really helpful if you have questions and she grades very clearly.
Professor Sacco has 0 care for the struggles this country and world is facing. I was dying and I am not joking. I had COVID-19 during the semester and was just dead for a while. I told Professor and she seemed to just not care. She messes up a due date on assignment? Its your fault. Your dying its your fault. Way to much work.
She's a great instructor and I liked the way that she runs her class EXCEPT she doesn't have an ounce of compassion or understanding for her students, especially in the middle of a pandemic. So if you forsee any possible problems that may come up for you, or if you have kids, choose someone else.
Professor Sacco is so wonderful, and did everything in her power to make sure her students understood the material and succeeded. The class is asynchronous, but she provides so many ways to communicate with her and your classmates that really help you to learn. She's the sweetest, and I can't stress enough how much she cares about her students!
By far the worst professor and worst math class I have ever taken... given the pandemic we were forced to have this class as online only. This professors holds NO zoom meetings, does NOT explain the material, and your only option is to reach out on a problem by problem basis to her. Oh, an you get a 2-5 minute video/lesson and lots of HW problems.
3 unit class but fells like a 4 unit class. I spend about 13 hours each week. No zoom no lectures, but no book reading either! Small but helpful video lectures are made by Pearson and you get to practice what you learned right after each video. Reviews are mandatory but they are similar to the quiz. No midterm. Sometimes there is a group discussion
One of the best professors I have ever had, very kind and cooperative.
She's amazing! Her voice is SO soft and sweet, listening to her lectures alone makes the class so much more pleasant. She's extremely helpful, will answer all your questions and will write down the solution step by step for you to make sure you understand. Most work is online with unlimited attempts. Be ready to show work on paper though :) Take her!
Best professor! Puts a lot of work into teaching, prepared for class, organized and clear schedule! Love and respect for such teachers!
If you have no choice but to take her, she is okay. She has a pacing schedule and if you don't utilize it you are out of luck. I find myself wanting to kill myself every time I'm doing the homework, review, and quizzes. **** ton of homework problems; they are neverending. She's crazy. Save yourself and turn elsewhere.
The professor uses video slides to go through the notes and then there are video examples to explain how to do the problems. There are about 3 to 4 of these per week and a review and quiz. She is available to help and easy to reach. I would highly suggest asking for help if you need it. Professor was pleasant, positive and helpful.
Professor Sacco is nice and soft spoken. She is also, very organized and clear on what she is covering for that topic and day. If you find yourself confused and seems hard, plz go ask her for help during office hours. She helped me several times and was never rude or unwilling to help me. By far a good person. Good luck in your academic success.
Amazing teacher. Note outlines are provided and gives good tips and tricks to understand the material. Quizzes every week. Strict on how to format work (it's straightforward, though). Randomly checks notes/homework, so do them all correctly. Held zoom meetings during the weeks where the material was difficult. Easy A as long as you do all the work.
MOST AMAZING MATH PROFESSOR EVER. Even though it was an online class, she would work with me and we would have one on one zoom meetings if I ever needed help. The class wasn't too homework heavy and uses the pearson site. I wish she taught my other math classes.
Professor Tanja was one of the most caring and respectful professors I've ever had, I greatly recommend her.
Please be warned. Do not take this class if you have a life outside of school. She assigns so much homework and expects it all to be done in a timely manner with no regard that people have a life and work outside of class. Please be warned if you take her. It's ridiculous how much work she places on her students.
The best math class. I was scared taking business calculus because I had barely passed stats my first year and am naturally bad at math but this class surprised me. There is a lot of homework but she gives plenty of time during the week to complete it and the quiz at the end of the week is not hard because of how prepared you are for it.
Textbook provided along with workbook. Definitely copy exactly what is shown in the video onto your notes because she makes you send pics of notes, usually from previous weeks. HUGE TIP: Do the "homework" assignment as you proceed with the section! Time saver! Videos are on youtube and you never really hear from her but she does reply to emails.
I took the 8-week course, and the homework is manageable if you distribute it throughout the week. The assignments and exams are fairly easy, and there are videos to watch and learn from.
The class was easy and she offered many opportunities to receive help and support. You will be watching videos and taking quizzes every week so set aside a few hours to do that. Take notes to help you. I thought I sucked at math but this was doable. The professor is also very kind and helpful.
If you want to succeed, take it. There are weekly assignments in weeks 4–8, midterm and final exam. Take notes and watch all the videos, the review tests and homework are very similar to the quizzes and exams. No one should earn less than an A if they put in the effort. She replies quickly to emails and is very supportive.
