she is very clear w/instruction.helpful and funny.cares about how students are doing.lots of note taking and hw but worth the grade,i hate math, but she made me learn and actually soak up the subject. i received 101% in class. 3 mid terms, 1 final, 15hw and 5 quiz, extra credit aval.wonderful person
she provides fill in hand outs for class notes. she drops a test, 2 quizes, and 2 homeworks. she has review days before each test and gives examples of possible problems on the test
Tanomo was very helpful. I was in her office mulitple times. She sat down with me, saw how I did the problem and helped me to understand. Math was very hard for me, but she helped me out a lot. She is a great teacher!
i took her over the summer..she is very nice..gives good notes, so when you go home you can refer back to them, an really understand it. Stay for the reviews because they do help! overall a great teacher!!! I would take her again!
very helpful. good and organized
She was incredible. I am TERRIBLE at math and she was kind, a little ditzy but very fun and knowledgable. Helpful for those of us who "just don't get it"
Excellent math teacher, give good notes, very nice. A lot of homework to help raise the grade. Easy quizzes. Tells you exactly what's going to be on the test.
Tanomo is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. Math has always been my weak point, but she explained everything clearly, and was always willing to answer all questions. If you have problems with math, I would highly recomend her.

As an idiot of society, I'm not exactly that knowledgable with arithmatic. With Taguchi, she has the knack to help and understand what your going through. Helpful on note taking and talking about her fetish for toys... I would like to take her class if she teaches any higher math courses... and maybe out to lunch, cuz she's so hot.
Awesome teacher, she's funny and she really helps you if you need it. Don't be afraid to shout out answers or ask for help. She's very willing and open to teach. Take her class.
Best math teacher i ever had.
Ms. Taguchi offers a clear and understandable way of learning Algebra. She gives detailed notes in packet form then goes over them with you. You're going to have to take Math 40 so take the best. I wish she did higher level classes.
Great instructor! She gives you packets that explain everything. She also takes the time to review what's going to be on the test. I really suck at math but had to take this class cuz I'm a bus major. I was basically failing the first week but I stuck in there & got an A as a final grade. She's very helpful & willing to work with you.
Very personable. She was always willing to answer my questions and help however she could. If you stuggle with math she is a good prof to take because she is firm yet understanding and will take the time with you to help you actually learn the material if you are willing to put the effort in...
She is the best math teacher. as long as your there and you do the homework than you will easily pass with an A. She explains everything clearly exp. when you dont like math or do well in it. I enjoyed going to this class she was never boring. I would highly recommend her.
I really liked her class in summer, and i am taking her class again in Spring 07.she was a very organized teacher.
a God send for math students, she tells you EXACTLY what will be on the tests, so there are no times where you're just finding yourself cramming the wrong things... she even goes that extra mile to give you, in detail, precisely what kind of problems should be expected on the final, a week before you take it.. I am in no way exaggerating... A+++++
Extremely organized and detailed. Very helpful and tells you what exactly is going to be on the exams. Explains every single step without making the class boring and dull.
She is the best teacher ever.If anyone wana take math, i highly recommend to take it with this teacher cuz she is very easy. if you do the homework and take notes in the class you will pass her class.
She wants people to understand and ask questions. All HW assignments are printed on syllabus, and they don't take too long. The packets she gives explain every type of problem you'll encounter. Staying for test review is optional, but very helpful; she outlines the test, showing what type of problems each number on the test will be.
I was in math 129 and she gives alot of homework and her test are not multiple choice. she has 12 quizzes which she gives you 2 freebees same with the test 2 of them
No Comments
she is an ok teacher. there is a lot of HW. there are about 10 quizes and 4 tests and a mid-term and final. she gives out notes in a packet. i would recommend her if you are good at math
She's a really great teacher. She gives you preprinted notes and makes herself available to students. She's really concerned about having you learn the material, but you have to work for your grade. Don't expect her to just hand it to you
Also (forgot to mention this) Stay for the review of the tests! She tells you almost exactly what kind of problems will be on the tests.
She isn't an easy teacher, but she does give the proper teaching ethics. Gives pre-printed notes in a packet, rarely use the book. Tests are hard, but she grades a bit easy and gives lots of partial credit. Memorize the formulas and study the homework mainly. I'd recommend it if u are willing to study for the class. She's nice, but a bit strict.
I love her! I love her! I love her teaching! She is the best teacher of all the selections if you are planning to take math! I will assure you, you will leave the classroom full of knowledge and understanding. TAKE HER!
I HATED math before I took this class. She is the most amazing teacher. I highly recommend this teacher, she is incredibly helpful and really wants you to succeed. She is strict and serious about her job, but if you want to learn and go on to succeed in math, she's the teacher. Stay for the reviews if you want to pass the tests. She's great!!!
Does not give multiple choice exams or quizzes. No notes are used during exams or quizzes. If more than one/two people ask a question in class, she will asked that you come see her during break or after class.
She is pretty easy. four exams and twelve quizzes. drops one exam and one quiz only. four classworks and math lab is important. provides notes and must have a graphing calculator. cant really miss class or youll be behind. overall, i highly recommend her.
Really nice. Clear and understandable. Test/quiz are hand written so you have to show all your work. It's good cuz then she give you points even if it's wrong. Gives some extra credit which can help your grade. Not too much HW. Drops 2 quizes and 1 test. I got an A+ but I came to every class and did all my HW and extra credit.

Really Helpful Teacher....Her notes are very Clear and class was fun
AWESOEM teacher! kind of treats class like highschool students - but thats the reason i got an A! homework is due each class, attendance is MANDATORY, quiz every other class, very clear notes, never missed a class, sticks precisely to syllabus and schedule, and best of all: she outlines the tests which is soo awesome!! definatellyyyy recommend her!
Mrs. Taguchi is cool. She disciplines students mathamatically. She sticks to her outlines and is very organized and easy to understand. She likes when you ask questions. She comes off strickt at first but chills out after. Her grading is the best because she always gives partial credit. If you get half the problem right you get half the points.
I took her during the summer for Math 40. ONLY missed one day and regreted it because i missed a quiz, I still passed the class but barely. Summer goes by fast, but I was still able to comprihend what she was teacher... I recommend her!
SHE IS GREAT. i took her class math 40 in summer and it just great. i got A+( over 100%)
She's an extremely good instructor. She makes math understandable
Sry but classic asian teacher. Doesn't explain things well and if i didnt already have a basic understanding would have done worse. All homework is required and attendance. would not recommend
She has almost all the notes written out for you and all you have to do is fill in the blanks. I have to fully disagree with the last post, as she does explain the concepts pretty well and they're obviously in the notes. If you still have trouble, feel free to go to her office hours and ask questions. Her classes have the least dropout rates.
She was an ok teacher, but her English was like most Asian math teachers. Horrible! I had trouble understanding her.
MAJOR ILLEGAL MOVE!
*TERRIFIC TEACHER!!* lectures and notes are crystal clear. Make sure you do the homework and check your test answers in the math lab and you'll be fine. She is always available for her students if they need help and have any questions. Wish she taught higher math classes.
Ms. Tonomo is Asian, but I had no problems understanding her. I actually learned a lot in her class. What I like best about her is that she is very organized, which is a trait that is vital to math teachers. When teaching math she doesent skip any steps, and writes out everything on the board. Shes kind of strict but also funny and kind so it cool.
Brilliant teacher. She knows mathematics like the back of her hand. Very helpful. Sometimes really strict about people getting side-tracked during lecture, but it keeps people focused on the material. Drops lowest quiz and test at the end of semester. Keeps grades online so you could be up to date. Definitely recommended.
Ms Taguchi is an OK instructor. She provides notes, stays on schedule, and assigns HW every night and quizzes every other class. The notes are fine IF you are the type of student who doesn't take good notes. But if you learn from writing your own notes then I wouldn't suggest her.
Great instructor. Very clear. Provides online notes that you print out and take to class every class meeting. Gives plenty of examples to follow along with homework. Homework is assigned every day and collected for points. Quiz once a week on homework. Exam every 3 chapters. Lowest grades on 3 quizzes and one exam is dropped. Great teacher!
good teacher. mrs. taguchi can be funny at times also! very organized & stays on task. about 1-2 hours worth of hw on average each class. recommended!
Taguchi! Class had its boring days, and class material covered was dreadful at times. Going into her class with a good attitude and very attentive definitely helped me achieve the grade I worked for. Dont be afriad to ask questions and hopefully you dont mind spending time at the math lab or doing quite a bit of hmwrk. Her accent was also adorable.
Taguchi is a pretty good math teacher. She's very organized & sticks to the schedule. Come prepared with your notes to class, it will help you out a lot. attendance is MANDATORY. there are quizzes every week. She can pretty funny too (:
She is sometimes hard to comprehend, and she is not willing to repeat herself or help anyone. She is not approachable, and hardly answers questions.
I took this teacher for math 20 on a saturday class and wow!! not to be mess up but she just cant teach. she doesnt go over hw or test. she doesnt help at all. just the worst math teacher i ever had.
Explains things clearly
She explains things pretty well, if you need help you NEED to ask questions. Her notes are good. Quizes are easy. If you do well on the hw then you're pretty much set for the exams. Just dont miss too much Homework and dont miss more than 3 days or she drops a letter grade at the end of the semester.
Moves through material way too fast, and exams are much more difficult than homework. Would not recommend for lower math classes or anyone who struggles with math.
Taguchi is an amazing instructor. She tells it like it is, crystal clear! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!
Shes actually not that bad. I'm not that good at math, and i passed with an A. You have to print out the notes, and sometimes they're not very clear. Test and quizzes aren't as hard either. She gives you partial credit on the problems. She gives alot of homework, but it's college not high school. She's nice and funny.
I'm taking her for summer and she might be great during the semester she's terrible in the summer. Although she's nice, she's unhelpful, the notes don't help on all of the hmwk assignments, she doesnt go over anything if you don't know something your only option of any type of clarification is from the Math Lab, the text or get someone to help you.
Great teacher. Funny, passionate about math, and really smart. She makes everything clear, and is really picky (and loves saying picky.) I wish I had taken her for all my math classes. She takes away points for being abscent, so don't be!
ive had her for 40 and math 141 and 142 great teacher! enough said
Very lively professor. I remember last month when she was doing her aerobics while explaining "Completing the square" So everyone don't make a "Buubuu". reserve your seat.
She is awesome, though gives lots of HW, which helps a loot. She provides notes online, and drops the lowest graded quiz, and the lowest graded exam, and the two lowest graded HWs. Definitely recommended.
If you don't like strict teachers do no take her. She is very strict, puts down her rules since day number one and puts you on the spot if you break one. Gives a fair 1-2 hours of hw. Drops lowest quiz and test score, if math is not your subject don't take her she goes fast and people look intimidated of asking questions. hard work = good grade
Great Teacher! I'm not a math genius but she does help you pass the class, so long as you pay attention, do the work, and abide by her rules. She does give A LOT of homework but it's for your own good; if you do the homework (and eventually understand it) you'll pass the tests and therefore do well in class!
I asked her for help and when she couldn't figure it out, she told me to just learn it myself. She speeds through the material, just so that she can include it all on the exams. There are NO multiple choice quizs or exams. Maybe she USED to drop an exam but alas, that is no more. Her final exam IS cumulative. Over half my class dropped or failed.
Taguchi is a great prof. Sticks to schedule, means what she says, grades fair. Drops lowest quiz, test, and hw. this class does have a workload, hw twice a week, quiz once a week. Four tests, 1 final. Best math prof i could ever ask for. Keeps you focused, keeps you working!
Loved Ms. Taguchi. Took her 2 semesters in a row (different classes). She made me love and understand math in general.
Taking notes for math40 was made easy by her allowing us to print them and going over them in class. the notes would help in doing HW, then the HW would help in doing the quizzes and all that combined would get us prepared for the exam. I think she is one of the best math professor at FJC
Coming into math 40 made me uneasy, but she calmed my nerves. Her notes are very helpful! Although I had to do a lot of printing, it was worth it. She really wants you to understand and pass. Her tests are on the hmwk! She gives little extra credit freebee's too. She also has a sense of humor which makes the class more fun :] I highly recommend her!
Awesome professor. Took her class for summer school and she warned us it would be a lot of work. She wasn't wrong. She's very clear and up-front about her high expectations for the class. Esp during summer school. She's funny and easy-going as long as you respect her and the class.
Professor Taguchi is amazing. If you are willing to work hard and do the homework, the class will go by smoothly. She offers plenty of help and is very clear with her teaching. I definitely recommend taking Professor Taguchi!
Print out her notes & they are really helpful for homework. Go to the mathlab a lot, make sure you understand the material, ask questions when needed. Quiz after every two chapters (easy if you study & do the hw) Study guide for exams which are off of her notes & past quizzes. Spend two hours at math lab and you are good to go.
Mrs. Taguchi isn't good nor is she bad. HW and quizzes aren't a problem. But you NEED to do decently on her exams to pass. She requires math lab. She's very helpful if you go to her. The one thing I disliked about her is the way she pronounces some of her words. That's just me though. (ex. Whatever - Whalebber) lol. Just pay atention and do good!
Taguchi is clear, helpful and easy to approach with questions. Class not boring and she explains all the concepts that will be on the homework, quizzes and exams. She also writes all the quizzes and exams so there are no random problems you have never seen before. She is funny and takes the time to make sure everyone is on the same page so no one is struggling, and her office is always open. I highly recommend her.
she was alright, i was never excited to go to class but i wasn't exactly dreading it either. her class is repetitive so you get used to how she teaches pretty quick and is helpful if you have questions
I took Mrs. Taguchi's Math 40 class this summer. Attendance is necessary to pass the class, but even then I struggled and ended up not passing. Her notes are only on the simplest of problems and once I got into the homework (there was tons of it) I would be completely lost. She did not require math lab but I went anyway and still failed it.
Very easy to follow, goes in baby steps. Attendance is a must. Drops lowest exam. Will definitely be taking her for 141
She is a nice teacher and pretty typical, simple study plan. You can NOT miss classes after a certain amount you will be dropped or fail. She gives a lot of online hw and mathlab. Overall not too difficult to pass.
overall a decent teacher. her notes don't help with hw. lets you know the type of problems for exams. requires MyMathLab which was difficult because if you dont round the number or use exact fraction it marks it wrong which makes it very frustrating. if you ask for help she kinda laughs and seems annoyed explaining herself again
Took her class online. She offers as many resources as she can and she did curve the grades in the end for my class but it was one of the hardest classes I ever took. You really have to put in the time. I suggest going to the math lab a lot. I think because I did that she rounded my grade from a B to an A. For being an online class she was great.
She takes the time to explain everything to perfection. The notes are designed for success. She is a great professor
She was not a good teacher at all she went off topic way too much. I wouldn't suggest taking her she's doesn't explain the lessons clearly either. Worst math teacher ever.
Taguchi is a clear concise teacher, but sometimes things get lost in her accent. She's always willing to repeat herself though and makes sure to teach for the slowest kid in the class, not the fastest or smartest, which means you'll have a good basic understanding no matter how bad you are at math. You have to attend as she drops for absences.
She's very organized and precise in her class lecture and test. She'll let you know what is expected in order to pass her class. You'll have to earn your grade and show up to all the meetings. I would take her again. She makes it very easy to understand.
Positives: Organized, stuck to the syllabus. NEGATIVES: She grouped the entire class into "groups" to do classwork and not everyone works well in groups. Being in college is about choices and in her class she takes away the choice to work alone. This caused major anxiety in me and forced me to drop the class. She is also very condensending.
not even a nice in everything especially in quizzes and major exams, the subject is hard and she's making it harder pa
A professor that makes the subject the hardest, not generous in giving grades especially on solutions it has to be perfect strict
a professor that doesnt give extra credit for u to pass, the she teach is complicated, the subject is already hard she makes it more harder for students
Ms. Taguchi is a wonderful professor who cares deeply about her students and wants to make sure they learn the material. Her lessons are well-structured and she's very helpful if you have any questions. I'm glad I picked her class for my first semester and I would do it again in a heartbeat. If you're willing to put in the effort, she is fantastic.
First time coming back to school after 12 years. Everything was new to me so that made it difficult. I'm sure if you need a refresher then this is the class for you. We started out with 30+ students and ended up with 10+ so I wouldn't recommend if you not going to put in the time, and it is needed. It's 2 classes in 1 so the pace is very fast!!!
Such a horrible professor... She legit does not teach you at all, and expects you to know everything in the test. All she ever does is hands us homework and expects us to learn off YouTube.
She tests really heavy she's really boring and forget taking this class if you are a DSS student.
I STRUGGLE with math. I took Taguchi over summer 2017 and let me tell you, one of the hardest classes EVER. She was an excellent professor though. She was tough. You fall asleep? Kicked out. You're on your phone? Warning then kicked out. I needed someone tough for math or else I slack. She really kept me in check. She explains the material well.
Do not pick this professor unless you're very good at math. Might as well take an online course and teach yourself. She makes you print out all of your notes no matter what .Usually about thirty pages. Exams are printed out and taken on zoom, she needs to see your whole environment. Last she's bad at just explaining the overall concept of the math.
Its a boring class. She calls herself a picky grader. She is really specific about how she wants you to solve a problem. Solve it a different way and you get it wrong. Lots of hw and notes. Which dont help towards the exams because they are dont completely different ways. Mathway solves it another way than they way she wants it.
After taking a few years off from school I came back and was nervous to be taking a math class again, but professor Trieu was absolutely amazing. I took her class over zoom with support class and the notes she gives you can be used on the exams. make sure your cameras are on and you could end up with some extra credit points. fair grading& funny!
Great Professor. Easy to communicate with, actually cares about students grades, acknowledges hard work and effort. To pass, do the homework, seek to understand material, study for tests, and put in time for class. I struggle with math and after taking her class, I feel confidant in my ability to solve math problems and pass college.
Professor Tanomo was an amazing professor. The course I took was online, but regardless of, I learned more than I have from any math class ever. There are assignments every week so just stay on top of those and you will succeed (she does not take late work) You can get 100% on every assignment if you want because you can redo the HW questions.
As long as you do your homework the tests should be pretty easy to get through. You'll also get a good grade if you stay on top of the work. Don't procrastinate. I had an A until it got more complicated for me but math is not my thing and I still passed. highly recommend this teacher.
She is a very understanding teacher. at times i needed hw extensions for emergencies with no questions asked. she gives a lot of homework but I can see will help you as much so that you can pass the class.
Even though I dropped out of this class several times. I would like to acknowledge that this professor cares deeply for her students and if you need help anything you should always ask for help and she will give. Sometimes doing zoom meeting is a bit difficult for me as we couldn't meet in person because of her injury.
Tanomo has a unique teaching style, but if you're willing to put in the work, it can really pay off. The class has a lot of assignments, but you can redo homework for full credit. Unstuck AI was a big help for efficiently preparing for exams.
This was a really good class, the professor explained everything well during her online lectures. There wasn't much homework, but you do have to pay for the site to do the homework. The difficult part was the exams, there were only four the entire Semester and each one covered a lot of information, but you're allowed a cheat sheet front and back.
i ended up dropping out of her class but for my own benefit, i was on the verge of failing if i stayed entire semester. shes an amazing professor and wants everyone to thrive. she makes herself available during office hours where it was better to get one on one help. highly recommend for harder courses, she will make you happy
shes an ok professor. Took her for pre-calc, doesn't provide study guides, leaves you to completely rely on the online hw and notes for studying. she's runs through the notes and baby feeds you how to do every problem not leaving any room to improve and learn it yourself. And I don't think I was the only one who also didn't like her sense of humor
