Kam was my favorite professor last semester. She doesn't teach from the book but rather uses critical thinking. I guess this can be hard for some students, but if you do the readings you will pass all the discussions with an A+! Also her final is a final paper, not a test. Keep that in mind if you don't like to write.

Professor Kam is awesome. I had her for English 101 and all we did was write papers. She is a very easy grader and loves what she does. She also picked great stories for us to read and also had interesting discussion. Also, we were never in class the whole time. Great professor.. Take her!

I had Tanya for Multicultural Lit. What a great teacher--one of the best I've had at UWW thus far. She shows such appreciation for class participation and really takes time to pull at her students' strengths.

Great teacher. I had her for English 101, I did not read any of the books but did fine in the class. She is extremely helpful always will to talk. She is sometimes all over the place but I loved being in her class. I am not a good writer at all but did good on the three papers. Just talk to her about your papers and you will do fine. Take Her!

She is my favorite teacher of all time. Attendance is mandatory, you only get 4 excused absences, but honestly I actually looked forward to attending this class. 4 papers, one is optional, always fun topics, and she gives great feed back.

I would honestly recommend her. She only assigns 4 paper, 3 of them are mandatory and no tests. Some pop quizzes, just make sure you read the material. She gives out extra credit options as well and it's an easy A if you participate. Her class is actually enjoyable.

She is so knowledgeable and super interesting. She mixes up the class with a range of books and other lessons. I didn't really have an interest in the class beforehand, but I just loved it.

She was amazing! I loved her! Her comments on essays are always really helpful and clear. The books we read were interesting. They had messages that helped us be more understanding in our everyday lives. Gives you time in class to work on things and is very understanding when life gets challenging. Take her! She's awesome!

She is a very kind teacher who will work with you to make sure you succeed. She is also very funny and makes a boring class interesting. Lots of extra credit, and only a few papers are required. I highly suggest this teacher and class.

TK is great! We had 4 papers--1 comparative--but no exams though she gives pop quizzes to test reading. I ldidn't always like all the stories but they made more sense after discussion. She gives handouts to help you with your writing and make expectations clear. She's funny, and the class was fun.

Doc TK was awesome this semester. She gave ample time to work on requirements, and always gave the best feedback. She really appreciated my "analytical" writing style which is something an english teacher has never told me before. English was my worst class in high school, but with TK, it became my favorite class. PARTICIPATE!

Professor Kam is a great professor that is originally from Berkeley CA. She grades hard and if you want to do well, you must go to office hours and show her you're working hard. Using descriptive words and articulating your thoughts fully are essential.

Great teacher! Makes what we read interesting and the class is always so fun! She has us call her TK. Papers you have to put some effort into it but barely gives anything below a B.

She is so wonderful, I loved TK! She is incredibly helpful and made me love English even more. You have to read for every class period though, so be ready. Participation is key to this class. When it comes to papers: there aren't many, they are short, and she gives good feedback on them. If you take her you're in for a fun class.

TK was definitely my favorite professor! She acts like one of us students, but she knows what she is talking about. You do have to read for every class but its not bad, a once in a blue moon 2 question pop quiz but they don't mean anything toward your grade. She's soooo funny its unreal, its the one consistent class that I'm never bored in. TAKE!!

Professor Kam is a sweet-heart. Readings are easy, Lectures are too. Never really puts people on the spot. Grades essays pretty easy. Would definitely take again.

TK was the best teacher I've ever had. No tests, just essays and class is always fun. She does give small 2 point quizzes about the readings from the night before sometimes which are very easy. She always brightens my day and you will be missing out big time if you don't take her.

TK is a really good professor. She will sit down with you if you have question. She gives really good feedback on papers so you know exactly what you need to do to improve the next time. Clear instructions for all assignments, never any surprises. And she gives lots of extra credit!

Tanya Kam was amazing. The course was only three papers, a film receive, participation, and a group presentation. She's always willing to help and will extend a due date for you if something comes up. Very easy A if you're a good writer. Avoid if papers are difficult for you as they are a majority of the final grade. Also, no quizzes or exams.

Super laid back, and very clear on what she wants done for assignments. She voluntarily looked over my final exam paper before it was due so I could fix any mistakes on it that no one else caught. She is super fun in class, and very personal. She knows her students names. I wish I could take more of her classes. Recommend her to anyone!

she is my all time favorite teacher. she cares about all of her students and wants them all to succeed. If you are struggling, she is more than happy to help. when we work on papers, she will look over yours and basically give you advice how to meet her criteria. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

One of the nicest professors I have had. She wants everyone to succeed and helps you learn info you'll actually need. You play a lot of games (with prizes). 3 papers, 1 group presentation that's really easy, and participation are what your grade is mostly based off of. Would definitely recommend!

Professor TK loves what she does. She gives amazing feedback and is willing to jump to help students. She cares about you as a human being and not just another student. She grades harder than excepted but she helps you throughout your writing journey, so you can grow from it. Her classes are fun and you play many games to help your understanding.

LOOOVE her. Shes so sweet and genuinely cares for her students. There are 4 papers but they arent too difficult. She is a tough grader and rarely gives out 100% but gives feedback on every paper so if you use it good grades shouldnt be difficult!

Professor Kam is a great teacher she really cares about her students and gives great feedback on papers. She assigns 4 papers throughout the semester but they are only 3 pages each. She gives a few quizzes but very easy and weekly discussion posts but those are also very easy would definitely take her for this class.

She is honestly the best professor Ive ever had. If whitewater decided to get rid of her that would be a huge mistake. She cares for her students and helps everyone correct themselves. Sure she can be bias but other than that shes a amazing professor. She shows up everyday to class full of good energy.

There are a few papers but the biggest research paper she allows you to pick your own topic. It made the assignment easier to complete and she gives wonderful feedback if you meet with her.

A lot of readings (daily) and papers (4 essays + research paper). I liked her a lot. Very funny. Kind of political. Papers are hard, research paper was very stressful. As far as honors classes go, it was a good intro class to honors and would recommend, otherwise no.

TK is one of the best professors at Whitewater, and my favorite professor as well. Her courses are challenging, but the challenge of them comes from her having high expectations for her students. Her high standards are nicely supported from how much she cares about her students, being there for them if they are struggling. I recommend her courses.

TK is a great professor. She is flexible and is always willing to help her students. Just make sure you do the readings and participate in discussions. She wants to help you improve so she doesn't expect perfection in your papers, but she does expect effort. The research paper is super important for your grade so put the most effort towards that.

She gives amazing feedback on essays/assignments, as well as breaking down large assignments into smaller parts to make it more manageable. TK rocks!!!

I took TK for both English classes and got an A each time. She's super knowledgeable, genuinely cares about her students, and makes class fun and engaging. Her feedback is clear and helpful, and she's always available during office hours. She even wrote me a fantastic scholarship recommendation letter. Truly one of the best professors!

TK is pretty awesome, her attitude and classes are awesome! The majority of what is graded is attendance and a few paper and she will grade your paper tough but also gives great feedback and pushes you to be a better writer. Don't hesitate to take a class with TK, it can be hard to find professors who love their job and are good at it too

i wish she was teaching english 102 if you can get her freshman year for 101 TAKE HER. she is so understanding, especially if you need to miss class for any reason and gives great feedback on work. you do have to do some readings but they arent books their usually like short articles/stories or poems!

TK was great to work with overall. Her essay feedback can seem illogical at times, and her grading tends to be a bit nitpicky, but she makes herself very available to her students and makes the classroom a welcoming place to be. It's obvious that she has a passion for what she does, and her encouragement is always positive, personalized, and kind!
