This teacher trully is one of the coolest teachers ever. Best I've had in college so far. Shes still in school & knows what its like to be a student. Lots of class discussion, so speak up. She's got some pretty radical views which are just right on! She doesnt teach many classes, but she is so cool, u should shedule your classes around *her* class.

this lady is by far my favorite professor at mesa. I was scared to take this class for fear of being bored, but it turned out to be my fav class so far. She doesnt like giving tests but only gave us 2 along w/ 2 papers. she will help you if you have any questions at all w/ anything She is young and actually cool. u wont regret taking her she rocks

She was a chill teacher. HW was easy if there was any, her projects were easy. Her tests were almost given to you(she tells you everything that is on them, almost). I wasn't interested in the subject but it was ok.

Great teacher! From her lectures, you won't even need the book. She really makes sure that everyone in the class understands. Fun class. No homework. 2 essays- one on The Matrix and the other on Barbie. Tons of extra credit opportunities. Put in some effort and you are sure to get a good grade!

Professor Kravatz is a rad teacher. She is clear in her lectures and precise on what she wants you to know for the tests. There are 2 essay and 2 tests worth 20 points each. If you attend class regularly you should be fine. She even allows cheat sheets on the tests. The essay's are take home. Great class

I loved her class. I had never taken a sociology class before, so i didn't know what to expect. She made me really interested in the subject and I'm going to take her class again for SOCO 125. She is a cool teacher but teaches the class with a strong feminist emphasis.. She almost only uses feminist authors to validate her point.. i can almost guarantee you all the people that wrote she was the best teacher in the world were all women.. Nothing against her but i would go for another prof if you one some balanced perspective on Sociology

I'm not interested in SOC at all but this professor was really nice. She is smart, knows her subject and explains everything clearly. She loves debating with students who think they can challenge her.

She does teach the class with some added feminist issues BECAUSE she teaches those classes as well. I feel that the class is very balanced, and I am not a woman. I had almost no interest in Sociology prior to the class, but I am now considering changing my major.

Great Professor, she knows her sociology and does a great job on explaining it. She has a wonderful personality and wants everyone in the class to participate in the class discussion. I will take her again for another course.

Wow, very nice teacher. I hate sociology and she helped me view sociology in a different way. Don't be fooled you still need to do some work. If you need to take sociology, take her class you won't be dissapointed.

She does a good job teaching her subject. The only thing is that she swears waaay too much, it's not very professional and it really turned me off.

she lectures in modern language and does swear quite a bit but it suites the discussion. there is no reason to buy the book, except for the first chapter. she doesnt think about a students budget, they wouldnt buy that edition at buyback. she teaches socio and is great! take her!but she just doesnt seem to practice what she preaches =/

Sitting in her class feels like talking to your friend about sociology. If you attend class, participate, and listen to everything she talks about, REVIEW YOUR NOTES, you'll get an A.& she does care about student budget. she allows old editions of text. mine...$8. one con: entry level class so class discussions aren't very enlightening. LOVE HER!

One of the best teachers I've had in college. Really cares about her students and you can tell that she really enjoys teaching. Very clear with what she expects in assigned papers and lectures are easy to follow. For the midterm and final, she allows you to use 1-sided page of notes. An easy A if you take good notes and attend every lecture.

I took DR. Kravatz for Social Problems (SOCO 110) and I must admit this class is difficult in general but she is very helpful and she explain her material well. There is extra credit (try to advantage of that, you'll need it). I highly recommend her for soco 110. My sister took the same class with Adelson and she barely made it.

Professor Kravatz was a great professor. Her exams are easy... she gives you a list of 8 and she chooses 4 of them. This class was easy compared to the other soci classes i've taken. I highly recommend her. She is hilarious.

Good teacher. Always will answer questions and is very approachable. You really don't need the book, but definitely take notes. If you have all the notes, the tests are a breeze. She's really... opinionated, but it didn't bother me a whole lot.

I took this class just to have full time status and it ended up being my favorite class. Good assignments, good exams, and fair grading. She's probably one of the best professors I've had at Mesa.

Easy easy easy class. There were people complaining that sounded ridiculous. "Oh, I read online that it's an easy A, but this is really hard!" Whatever, I got close to perfect scores on EVERYTHING, and I barely even tried. She has kind of a wacked-out view on Marxism, but whatever. She's very straight-forward and easy to learn from.

I love Professor Kravatz! She does speak very casually and tends to swear often, but who doesn't love that? She has very precise prompts for papers which are very helpful, and allows 1 sheet of notes for tests/one side only. Take good notes!

Class participation is key. It doesn't matter with her if your a genius you still have just of an opportunity to do well as anyone. She's awesome, and understanding that students are busy. You will learn alot on in her class, just pay attention and participate. She's definitely the ideal professor!

i love prof kravatz! all her essay assignments she goes through them so clearly it's hard to get an F. she cusses a good amount during lecture but it's hilarious. she has a sick tatt on her left arm and she talks about interesting topics.. she gives study guides for every exam and u can use 1 page notes front side. Pretty cool. Helpful & wants you to succeed. Easy to get along with too. Take good notes & then regurgitate those notes & you'll do well. 1 mid term, 1 8 pg paper, & 1 final. Both tests are essay, but gives you the possible questions ahead & you can use 1 pg (front only) of notes. Have to try hard to fail. Wasn't my subject at all but I did well.

Dr. Kravatz is a really cool and open minded teacher. She really opened my eyes to communism and socialism. She writes the class notes on the board as she teaches and allows you to have 1 pg of notes during the test. The tests are mult choice for 101 and there are only 2 papers and 2 tests in the semester. Overall easy but you do have to show up.

She is one of my favorite teachers at SD Mesa. She teaches and interacts with students very well. She writes the lecture on the board. She allows laptops for note taking. I had her for Sociology 110 (soc problems) and 125 (soc of the Family). I definitely recommend her

She is an awesome teacher. Her lectures are enjoyable. There are some group project that are easy. The test might be a little hard but if you read your test book you should be fine. There are 2 essay to write but they are easy.

Great teacher! Enthusiastic! Those who say the tests are hard didn't take good notes. She lets you use one page of notes on the test! I've gotten A's on every test and I don't even have a textbook. If you go to her class, take notes of what she's writing down, you'll do amazing. The tests are from the notes. Plus her class is FUN!

She is an excellent professor. Everything on the test is explained in class so unless you aren't showing up, you shouldn't have any reason not to get an A or a B. Another thing to note is that I didn't use the textbook ONCE this semester and I was bout 2% away from an A. On top of that, sociology is a fascinating subject! Take her class. :)

Awesome, smart teacher. No homework and tests come from lecture. She basically types a study guide on projector for lecture. So come to class, take notes and get an easy A. I would take her again. Strict attendance and tardy policy that she enforces the semester.

Her class is really easy and she lets you use a one page cheat sheet for all her tests. She doesnt use powerpoints, she lectures freely which was hard for me at first since im use to learning from powerpoints. But she is a great professor and i would recommend her to everyone !!!

Great professor! Very knowledgeable, explains expectations clearly, and approachable. 4-5 tests, no hw, one group project. 1 paper of notes permitted for tests, which cover things directly from the book and notes. I really enjoyed this class and recommend it to others.

It's a very easy class. I attended all the classes but you don't have to. I barely even opened my book because I got everything from the lectures. She's super nice and tries to make class fun, she really chill. You get to use a cheat sheet on exams. Her classes are pretty interesting as well. Great instructor, makes class fun and loves to engage in class discussions. I absolutley adore her! I'm currently enrolled in one of her sociology courses and it is by far the class I enjoy most. I LOVED THIS CLASS! Made me switch my major to Soc. Her lectures didn't feel like lectures because they were so interesting and always funny. We always talked about things that were current and she always gave really good real-life examples. You get 1 pg of notes for each test so USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE! Kravatz was great! Loved this class! The entire class always got really into the lectures and she's really good at keeping it relevant and interesting. You get to use a "cheat sheet" on the tests and she practically gives the answers. The final paper wasn't that bad and the group project was fine. The class was super interesting and I loved going!

Fair grader. Tests are ok, just study a bit. She lets you use a page of notes for the test so really you can make it as easy as you want to. Very approachable and pleasant. No complaints here.

I liked the set up for the classes and the discussions we have! Her exams are free response questions but she lets you know what they are ahead of time. Beforehand, you can go to her office and she'll tell you what she expects in the answers you brought. Taking good notes will really save you, as they're allowed! Took her for SOCO 101 as well.

I feel like I almost never get to say this (from a SD Mesa professor): she's one of the best professors I've ever had. She's super informative, while being funny. She keeps things interesting, while keeping things light. Obviously sociology makes you look at things from a different angle BUT she changes the game (course) for the way it's taught.

I took her in summer and we basically had 3 tests which we could bring a cheat sheet with us. and a group project with 4 paper written. By far one of my favorite professors! She is very funny and engaging. I was afraid her different political views would be a problem, but she gets along with everyone regardless of gender, religion, politics, etc. Group projects suck, but come to class and take notes, you'll do fine. Notes are super important to pass this class to make a friend if you won't be there every day. Lectures are low key, interesting and make you think. She skips class a lot so make sure to check your email to see if the class is canceled. Don't buy the textbook, if you go to class you don't need it.

She is quite liberal in her lectures. Doesn't mind getting into the dark side of sociology. Don't miss her class because notes are important for the exams. One group project and for final, had to write an essay. Her exams are multiple questions and three or two mini essay questions (not hard at all, I would write one paragraph). Recommend.

Professor Kravatz is awesome. Be warned though, she cancels class a lot, sometimes without giving the class a heads up. Because she cancels class so much, we only had two exams and the final was a take home. NO HOMEWORK. She curves the exams but my advice would be to actually go to class and take good notes because you can use them on the test.

I took her for honors 110 and 101 lemme tell yall shes the best hands down I was taking her for my major prep but ended up switching my major!!! much love for her!!!! :-) Ill make a separate rating/explanation for each class rn BUT TAKE HER 11/10

I took her course During fall 2018 and she is amazing! I wish she could teach all of my sociology classes . She is a very understanding, funny, and caring person. She is the type of professor that you wish every teacher you have could be like her. She is passionate about teaching and her class is very interesting! Tip:TAKE NOTES! very helpful.

I have taken different sociologies with her and she is AMAZING! You can tell she is very passionate about her job by listening to her lectures. She hits uncommon grounds and is not afraid to talk about any topics because she'll make it relevant to sociology. I was never a fan of school but because of her I looked forward to coming to class. 13/10

TAKE HER FOR SOCIOLOGY, SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! She is so nice, she genuinely cares about her students and she helps you with whatever you don't understand. She's soo funny, take her you wont regret it .

Dr. Kravatz is a great professor. She is passionate about Sociology. I never thought Sociology was interesting but after taking her class I found it really interesting and I learned some things I never thought I would. I highly recommend taking her!!

This is by far one of the easiest GE requirements to take. Youll learn some very interesting topics and have fun doing it. The professor is super chill easy grader. She lets you have a one sided paper filled with anything you want on the tests. As long as you take good notes and use the study guides she has youll get an A or at least pass!

Easy A, great professor with a nonchalant and approachable attitude. Dr. Kravatz has a way of relating to her students that does not occur very often these days. I felt excited to go to her class. She inspired me!

She is so caring for students! I wished I could take her for all of my sociology classes! She gives 3 exams, no hw but a little bit of reading in text books and lecture notes. She is a great educator and very understanding for student needs. Take her class and you'll pass!! Just do your reading and pay attention in class. She is AMAZING!!

She is amazing! Take her because she is passionate about SOCO! She is approachable and really cares about student success! I took her class in person & moved to online due to this pandemic. Her lectures are clear and so is her grading criteria. 3 exams which consists of multiple choice and essay papers. She gives you the key, you just unlock it!

She is amazing! I was nervous at first because it was an Honors course but if you study and pay attention, you will be fine! There are tests with short essay questions but if you know the material, you will get an A! Take her! What you learn will change your perspective as an individual for the better.

She is an awesome teacher! Truly has the most down to earth nature. Teaches us everything we need to know to succeed. Very straight forward. Three tests and she is wonderful as a person. One of my favorite professors at Mesa College. She a no bs kind of lady which is great. Just attend her lectures as there are important dates that might be revised

Professor Kravatz is a very laidback yet assertive professor. She is easy to talk to and is always open to the students feedback during zoom meetings. Grades were based solely on exams and the few discussion posts we had. Each week we were expected to read a chapter from the textbook, along with any extra articles she had provided.

She is an amazing professor. Attendance is not super mandatory but she does take attendance during class. I would reccomend you to show up to class because the lecture is not even that long and she makes it interesting. She also cares about all her students and makes sociology interesting. She is also very hip and fun to talk to :)

Fun, understanding, and easy-going professor! She explains concepts very well and applies them to current events, making it easier to understand. Lectures are open-discussions so anyone can ask or make comments. The only assignments due were discussion posts and exams. Make sure to read textbook and additional articles she provides. Learned a lot!

Took this class last spring. She is very understanding and you can tell right away. The lectures/study guide is exactly like the tests. Her lectures are engaging and she presents it in a way that makes time fly by. I highly recommend her if you need to take this class as a gen-ed.

I really enjoyed this class. I learned a lot and all of the discussion we had were extremely relevant to everything happening in our daily lives.

Professor Kravatz is very passionate about what she teaches and overall makes the course fun. By far one of my favorite classes Ive taken at Mesa. There are a total of 3 exams and a few discussions. Make sure to review lecture notes as they key to passing the exams as well as the additional articles posted. Take this course, you won't regret it!

This class is super easy if you do the readings, you'll pass. 3 EXAMS 75% grade, 5 discussion boards (super easy) 25% grade. The exams get a little tricky so be sure to pay attention to the modules. One thing is that the prof. was hard to get a hold of, would write e-mails and she'd respond 2 weeks later. Other than that, very well organized.

Loved this class! 5 discussion boards & 3 exams. I definitely recommend reading all articles provided & also the textbook. Do the work/ read & youll get an A (:

Best professor yet! 5 discussion and 3 essay exams such amazing lectures. she is understanding, however, don get in her bad side! meaning don't plagiarize on the exams because she will give out F's and report you. other than that she is very compassionate and understanding. ASK FOR HELP when needed. she is there for us to be successful. SHE amazing

Absolutely loved this class. Zoom lecture every other week and was impossible not to pay attention. She explains everything she teaches with definite interest and passion. One discussion a month. One exam a month. Definitely would take this class with her again.

Course-wise, it's fairly easy with just 3 exam essays and a few discussions. If you want to pass, just make sure to do the readings. Professor Kravatz is genuinely passionate about what she teaches and her lectures are engaging, but not too difficult nor boring to follow through.

Her lectures are always fun and interesting, more like a discussion. Interesting material as well. There are readings, but they're not too heavy. I rented the book and did not use it at all, you can do very well and get everything you need from the reading materials. She's very nice and caring. Wonderful teacher and I recommend her class!

Prof Kravatz is the type of professor that makes you look forward to class. She is really amazing at explaining the criteria in a way that will allow you to understand complex concepts. The exams are written but she gives a rubric that tells you specifically what she wants. She is amazing and knows how to engage a class.

Great Professor that really cares about the subject. Very liberal and has great personal stories. Very clear about her expectations. 5 Discussion boards and only 3 tests (essays) based on her lectures which she reviews with the class to ensure everyone understands. You would have to be a complete idiot not to pass this class with an A.

Very fun, open, and understanding professor. She speaks her mind and her passion for others is astounding! She respects all views and has amazing views herself. Her lectures are where it is at and where you will gain most to all of your information for the course from. I did do zoom. Would definitely take another class of hers, if needed be.

Her lecture is very engaging. I never wanted to miss class cus the lectures are good. and she adds her own life stories. There are only 8 homework assignments and three exams, which she explains and goes over really well.

Excellent lectures, the professor types everything she talks about in class and does a great job of going over tests, so her class is impossible to fail if you pay attention. everything she covers in her lectures is relevant and on point when it comes to taking her tests so taking notes is a must! Best teaching techniques I have ever seen!

Prof. Kravatz is super funny, sweet, and down to earth. She is a kick*ss, strong woman and is willing to talk about anything! Sociology 101 really opened my eyes into how our societies/cultures are structured, why we do what we do, and how we interact as humans. Your tests are actually mini essays, please do them as they count a lot!!

If you can take her in person, DO IT. She is so funny and authentic but also gives a great, neutral sociological perspective. Great exam review and the hw/ discussions are thought provoking. She has been one of my favorite professors here at Mesa and knows students have lives outside school. She's great across the board. Highly recommend.

Amazing professor that had interesting lectures that I learned a lot from. gives out weekly discussion posts with essay exams which she will prepare you for. She deeply cares about students often giving due date extension with no penalties. highly suggest taking her class.

The professor is super caring and makes the material engaging. With only a few assignments and exams that she thoroughly reviews, it's easy to do well. I found Unstuck study really helpful for preparing for the tests.

One of the best professors I've ever had. She is so caring, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable. While the exams she gave were kind of hard on the mind (you really have to think and know what you're talking about), she gave me the support I needed to help further develop my critical thinking skills (necessary during this time). Take her!

Took Prof. Kravatz's SOC110 course during the Spring of 2023 so this is a late review but she is one of the most fun, caring, and supportive professors I have ever taken. Exams are usually based on lectures and they are relatively simple and less-stress inducing if you take notes. Assignments are simple, straightforward and provide helpful feedback

Super easy online class. Grades were determined by a few discussions and 4 exams. Exams consist of 5 questions, short answer. Really easy. Highly recommend this class if you are taking another one that is material heavy; sometimes you forget about this one lols. Interesting info, I like how she added her own lecture notes :]
