Tara is one of the best teachers at OU, make sure you take her if you get the opportunity. I had her for a 3 hour night class, you would think that 3 hours of Spanish would suck but she made it so much fun. And her tests are soooooo easy!

She was a very good teacher! If you needed help with anything she would help you understand. Class is fairly easy, just study, do the homework, and PARTICIPATE and you will get an awesome grade. She makes the class so much fun!

Great prof!! Would recommend in a heartbeat, do the work she assigns and you will pass with flying colors. She is soooo very helpful, has a good personality, and her class is not boring. If you study, her tests are not that hard and she does plenty of in class work so you know what to expect.

Oh My Goodness, I have taken spanish under 4 other teachers, and this one is the best I could ever hope for. No one is allowed to be sy though, just make an effort, and everything will work for you. Best Night Class EVER!

I had her class on Saturdays last fall and never didn't want to go. She kept it in interesting and fun the whole time. She wants you to suceed and learn, I highly recommend her!!

She was such a good teacher. I can't believe that I got a 3.7 in the class! I missed class about 5 times and still pulled a 3.7 so she is definately awesome!

BEST TEACHER EVER. she really cared about my class. she knew us all by name. she would keep class fun, even from 6:30-10 pm when we all were tired. I learned so much and she made it all easy. when we didn't understand something, she would try things until we ALL got it. even for one person, she would stop and go back over things. 1 group test! Wonderful professor! Had no interest in Spanish before this class. She makes sure the entire class understands b/f moving on. Goes over something again and again for one person, if needed. Reviews are awesome and prepare you for the quizzes. Very punctual and articulate. More than helpful with any questions. Take her if you can!

7 quizes, lab work + hw and 1 final. she is the best teacher, makes it really easy to understand. take her, you'll learn so much, and it's not bad

Great Prof! Had her once a week, on saturday mornings, and was a breeze! willing to work with you and help explain everything! doing homework and attendance is very important, but still very easy! in class assignments you can do with yoru eyes closed!! very awesome teacher!

She was awesome took her in spring semester...she's really funny and you learn a lot. Attendance is mandatory if you want an A. You do use the text book a lot. But pretty easy.

AWSOME!!! I have her right now on Saturday morning. I go there half asleep, but yet she manages to keep us awake and entertain the class. Very easy and understandable. Take her if you can. She loves teaching spanish

Prof. Gardner is the best. You feel like a native Spanish speaker by the time you leave her class. She's got a lot of energy, she is crystal clear about what she expects, she speaks Spanish beautifully. She doesn't require that you attend but she gives quizzes almost every class (not too hard) so you really have to be there.

Probably my favorite professor/class so far. She's very funny and entertaining and makes sure everyone undertstands. Quizzes almost every class meeting so definitely need to go, but they're easy. Homework graded on effort. All in all an awesome class- highly highly recommend this prof!

Very good professor.I highly recommend it.My first language is not English and i am taking Spanish as a foreign language requirement.I never read any book and don't know a complete sentence in Spanish still now but ended with a 2.0.Native English speakers can score at least 3.4 or above.

She was a amazing professor! I took this my freshman year first semester and she made sence out of Spanish! I'm taking her now for 115 online and she's just as good!

Amazing! She does a great job at teaching Spanish and making everyone understand it. The quizzes are very easy if you go to class regularly, because she goes over everything that will be on it. I would highly recommend taking her!

Class is done hybrid form. All tests online but attending class is mandatory. Class was easy but if you dont want to be in class, dont take instructor.

Great professor for Spanish 114 & 115. Very clear, encourages participation in class. Quite helpful and truly passionate about the language. Wish that I had her for Spn 114 as well. Would take second year spanish if she were teaching it.

Prof Gardner is a wonderful instructor. Has a passion for the subject. Quizzes weekly and attendence required to do well. Two exams with final being cummulative.

Great professor! She really knows how to keep our younger generation interested in learning a language. I would definitely recommend taking her. All online exams, and one cumulative exam at the end of the year.

awesome professor. helpful, enthusiastic, understanding, and respectful to students. the only downfall is the online homework due every night at midnight, but at least it was usually short and easy

If you plan to take Spanish, take Professor Gardner. She is wonderful! You will learn a lot from her. She expects you to work hard, but she makes the class fun and interesting and she is super helpful. She wants to see each student succeed.

She was outstanding, one of the most helpful and caring instructors I've ever had. I would highly recommend taking her class. She's not the easiest teacher in the world, but she's very fair; let's be honest, we can't all get 4.0s. If you need to take a spanish course and have the opportunity to take her class, you really should take it.

She is a very kind professor however all the homework is online. She makes you submit something every single night. The homework is on stuff that you haven't talked about in class yet which meant that we were basically teaching ourselves. The listening homework was very difficult. When we tried talking to her about the homework, she didn't care.

The textbook was so useless and SAM is the most frustrating system known to man. She does want you to learn though and is super patient. I would definitely recommend taking her vs. other Spanish professors. I hated that attendance was mandatory bc you have to self-teach yourself through SAM so sitting in class was so boring!

I took this class as an online summer course which, I think, made it much harder. You teach yourself the whole course and the online program does most of the grading. If you even spell something wrong, it's wrong. Prof Gardner was helpful with questions, but I had very little interaction with her with the online class. I would not recommend online

Such a great professor! Very helpful and wants you to learn the material. Lots of speaking in spanish with classmates, so you'll get to know everyone. Attendance is 25% of the grade so make sure you come to class. All activities and chapter exams are online. I highly recommend this class!

One of the best people you will ever meet. Approachable, clear, helpful, and wont move on until everyone understands the material. She does only speak in spanish during class which can be frustrating the first couple weeks, but it actually helps in the long run. Online exams and homework that is very doable. I definitely recommend her.

It's an intro to language class. She makes it simple and easy to follow. Beware that she DOES ONLY SPEAK SPANISH in the classroom (and English on occasion). Don't be afraid of it! She's a really easy grader (online HW: 30%, Class participation: 20%, online tests: 10%, popquiz 5%). She wants you to understand the basics! Definitely the BEST @ OU.

Awesome professor. I thought she made learning another language really simple. She does speak in all Spanish inside the classroom, but if you need help outside of class she speaks English. She really cares about her students and won't test on material that she doesn't think the students are comfortable with.

She is an amazing teacher! She speaks only Spanish while in class, but it makes you comprehend the material. She will not move on with material unless everyone understand its. All homework is online, as well as tests. She is super nice and this class is very relaxed.

I had professor Gardner for SPN 114 during Fall 2014 semester so classes just wrapped. She was such an AWESOME instructor. She cares, prepares, and inspires. I plan to take SPN 115 with her. I highly recommend others take her if going to OU and getting introduced to Spanish!

An all around great professor, but with anything, especially a foreign language, you have to put forth an effort. Most of the work, including tests, is done on your own time through Connect, which isn't hard. It's probably best to have someone you know in the class as there is small group work every class which would suck if you didn't like anyone.

She's really sweet, inspirational, and overall just a cool teacher. Much more than a fair grader, she would even eliminate some test questions. Do all the online work, read up on the book, and the rest is her teachings (which is excellent) and you will be fine. Would take all the Spanish classes with her!

Tara is one of the best professors on campus. She teaches the class in Spanish but you understand everything she is saying. The online software is even helpful. She makes the English language sound boring. I have her Saturday class and will be taking SPN-115 with her next semester even though it's not required for my major.

She is awesome sauce! She is the best Spanish instructor I ever had. Nope she doesn't have an accent! She speaks the entire class in Spanish but she WORKS WITH YOU. I thought I had no chance at passing this class, but with a couple of office hours and showing the instructor as much as I knew I was good! I definitely recommend her!

By far the best professor I've had in my 4 years of college. Assures you understand everything clearly, extremely enthusiastic ,and has an absolutely wonderful presence! I had a Saturday class (you can only imagine how bad that sucked) and she made me look forward to attending. That's how awesome she is!

Best way to get foreign language credit if you don't know a foreign language. There are ton's of grades, not like a 3 test science class. She lets you know what you need to know for the tests. She couldn't make it easier if she tried, you just have to show up, study a moderate amount and do the online homework. Very fair grader! Extremely pleasant!

I have never met a woman who cares more about her students and her profession. She was amazing and I felt I could always talk to her about my grade and about what we were learning. Very approachable and someone I would highly recommend to a friend. She built a lot of respect between her and the students & our classroom was always a welcoming place

Connect assignments for each chapter online quizzes and in class tests for each chapter. The book is only important for connect so if you wanted to just buy the connect code you could get away with it. Seriously though best professor ever. Nobody cares more about their students than professor Gardner. She wants you to be successful and have fun.

Sra. Gardner makes sure her students understand the material. She will work with you one-on-one until you get it. She focuses on letting her students show what they know instead of answering standardized questions. I honestly learned far more Spanish than I thought I would when I started the semester.

Ms. Gardner has been, by far, the best professor I've had so far in my college experience. I took 4 years of high school Spanish and didn't learn HALF as much as I did this semester. The confidence I have in my abilities to speak now are much higher. She makes the class fun and truly cares about giving her students a good education. Amazing teacher

I seriously love this professor. She was so caring and made sure we understood the material. At first I was scared the first day because I haven't had Spanish in awhile. But professor Gardner really worked with us and made sure we all understood the material. She is really great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her :)

The best professor I've had! There is a lot of online homework, however tests are extremely easy b/c she goes over the test the day you take it! (4 tests & 1 Final Exam) She's extremely caring, I would go into class early just to chat with her! Take her and you won't regret it! Easy A! Tara is an exceptional professor for teaching a language as learning a new language is not that easy. She is very funny and makes the classes interesting and interactive. Such a hilarious professor, makes a Saturday class less painful! Really makes sure you improve on your Spanish and gets the whole class involved. Homework was daily but could easily get a whole week ahead in a day! 4 tests and 1 final! Goes over tests the day before and tells you exactly what is on it! TAKE HER WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

LOVE HER! I am in her Saturday class, and in the military (meaning weekend drills once a month) And she works with me to make sire I am not missing anything when I miss class. Speaks Spanish all class, but she works with you to understand EVERYTHING. I am horrible at Spanish, and she makes it so simple doulingo can't even compare

Sra Gardner was an amazingly caring and respectable prof. She understands that everyone learns in different ways and tries to appeal to all students. If she can see you're making a valiant effort in the class she makes it easy for you to continue at your own pace.

Professor Gardner is an absolutely amazing professor. I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone. She makes the material easy to understand, she is funny and always available outside of class. Part of your grade is on attendance so show up to class, but going to class ties in all the online material. You use your book and online text daily.

Professor Gardner truly made me fall in love with Spanish again. I enjoy going to her class everyday and she is always understanding with her students. Her grading and methods are exactly what students need and it really benefits the people in the class if they pay attention. Id love if she taught the higher courses, she really knows her stuff.

There's homework assigned every day, but you can choose to do them in advance. Tests are easy. There's one composition assignment but that is also easy. Don't worry if you haven't taken Spanish before.

I don't know how somebody could not like this professor. Sra. Gardner handled moving her course to online during covid-19 perfectly. Homework is assigned everyday online but tends to be very easy. Tests were also easy. As long as you complete/understand the assignments and practice, you will manage to receive an easy "A" in Sra. Gardner's course.

Professor Gardner is the G.O.A.T.! She was honestly an amazing professor and was very fair on everything especially the exams. 10000/10. would defiantly recommend!

God bless her heart, she is so sweet. She does not force you to participate in her class, but is super encouraging when you do. She is always willing to answer questions. Your grade is mostly based on online assignments, so if you forget to do them, your grade will drop fast. Late work is accepted though. Choose her for Spanish!

She's funny and cares about her students. Makes assignments only as difficult as she knows you can handle. Stay engaged in the lectures and you will have to study less. Expect to practice 20 min a day but that's any language. You won't need textbook but you'll need the online code that comes with it. There's not a thing to complain about with her.

Señora Gardner is AMAZING!!!! She is so intelligent, patient, and wants you to learn. You will have homework every single day, but it actually is really helpful. My minor is Spanish and I would love to take her every semester, but unfortunately, I don't think she teachers higher courses than 1150. She is such an incredible teacher!

Professor Gardner was an amazing human being and I would 100% recommend taking her. Although there is nightly homework, it takes no time at all and actually applies to what you're learning in class. She makes sure to not leave anyone behind, engaging everyone in the discussion during class time. The tests are fairly easy if you pay attention.

We had a zoom meeting twice a week, and homework online every day, but it was all pretty easy as long as you pay attention to what she's saying in class. If something comes up and you can't make a class email her ahead of time.

Don't even consider any other professor for Spanish at OU. I had Gardner for SPN 1140 + 1150. Professor Gardner is AMAZING. Easy tests, but daily HW assignments that can get pretty lengthy, depending on the day/lesson. We had lecture twice a week via Zoom. She was always great at responding punctually to emails.

Great professor, cared about students, due dates were lightly enforced. Always worked with you if there were issues. Always responded to emails fast and worked with me to fix any issues. Class was kind of boring but that's what you expect from a basic class.

Professor Gardner is a very and kind caring professor. You are required to purchase the assignment platform and speak aloud every class. Two exams and assignments due every Monday and Wednesday. This is a fairly easy class. I enjoyed Professor Gardner and would recommend taking her Spanish Classes!

Genuinely the best professor I have had at OU! She is extremely kind and truly cares about the well being of her students! Taking an accelerated online spanish course with Sra. Gardner and the class has been very informative, easy, and fun. It's not a lot of homework, but it is every day. You need to set aside 30-60 minutes to work on it, but it's all pretty easy. She is lenient about late work, though it's easy to get it done on time.

Sra. is passionate about what she teaches and it's evident in how she manages the class. She's very understanding and caring. There's work to do everyday but it is minimal and should take 10-15 minutes to complete. Her lectures are helpful and she is big on participation! Overall, an amazing professor.
