I hate math and she helped me to understand it. Make sure you do the homework on time because you cannot turn in late work. The tests are hard but if you study and ask questions it helps a lot, she really knows what she is talking about. She was super nice!
She is a great looking teacher. So you might be distracted. Her teaching style is good but the class is very fast passe. So if you had trouble in classes before i would reconsider taking her. Other than that she has very great office hours. She doesn't give test reviews, only the questions you have in class. Test and hw are hard.

She is one of the hottest teachers at this school and super nice class is easy ask questions do the hw and you will have no problem.
Great Teacher
MRS Jonezzz!!! extremely great sense of humor, she laughed with the class clowns:)She makes sure you understand the lesson, and if you don't you can always ask questions. The class is fast-paced and difficult so make sure you have taken trig before this class. I'm taking her next semester for calculus, she made me actually like math.
Mrs. Jones is a wonderful teacher. She sincerely cares about students and tries to make sure everyone understands before moving on. Don't be ashamed to ask questions! She's very patient and helpful and doesn't make you feel like an idiot for asking or giving a wrong answer. Getting up early was worth it to have her for a teacher. (:
She is soooooo hot, but don't be fooled she is very smart. She knows the material and wants to help you learn it. Just be prepared to do alot of homework 2-4 hrs per class. Also, the tests are hard, and she doesn't give very good reviews for the test.
Excellent teacher! Math has never been my thing, she finally got me to understand math! Very helpful, in tutoring center and office hours to help. Goes over homework questions and test questions. Do the homework and review the graded problems for tests. Great teacher!!!
She is a great teacher, but her classes are very fast paced. It helps to be prepared and always do the homework. She writes her own tests and they are usually challenging. She made herself available to students who struggle (like me).I appreciated that she was always very cheerful and upbeat. You can tell she loves her job.
I had a horrible experience with this teacher. She speaks to her students like high schoolers, she has VERY strict attendance policies, and you have to turn in your homework everyday...even if you are sick! I also found her explanations very confusing. I would never take one of her classes again
Couldn't ask for a better teacher.
Worst teacher I've ever had! Very strict! doesn't care if your sick! if you come in just 5 minutes late she counts you as absent! homework everyday! Her tests are so hard with problem solving every single one of them, and many times she makes changes to the questions in a hard way to test you. I wish someone else wrote this before I took her class.
She was the best math teacher I ever had as long as you werent a slacker and you listened in class it was really easy she explained this class to me so much better than the teacher I had before, and honestly if you are sick just call her ahead of time and she is usually pretty nice about it I got sick alot so I know
Best teacher I have ever had for math. Great at explaining things, cares about her students, easy to understand. I will take her for every math I am able to.
awesome teacher! I've had her for 150 and 220 and she is awesome. always will help you, never lets you just fail, and if you stay put in the work you will get the grade you desire. If not then she will still pass you with a W if you try hard enough and stick it out to the end. Definitely recommend!
shes an alright professor but her techniques can be a little fuzzie sometimes. i had perfect attendance and took all the tests but she wouldnt bump my grade. i liked the professor i had for mat123 he was better in my opinion
She's a very fun & young instructor. Some of her teaching methods are not as clear as they could be, but she teaches fairly well. Will make you work hard for a good grade, and I appreciated that a lot. You get what you work for. A humbling class.
Very helpful teacher, always available for tutoring. I was stuggling and she personally came to me and asked me to start attending. Great!
It was a very difficult class! She's not overly clear and the tests are much harder than the homework and the examples in class. But she is fair. At the beginning of the semester the class was told if you didn't have a passing grade she would withdraw you, as not to hurt your GPA. She will work with and wants you to succeed, but is a hard class!
She's a wonderful teacher. Very helpful and funny. I loved her class, despite it being a math course.
If you're going to enroll with Ms. Jones be prepared because your next four months will be devoid of any free time. I was able to pass her class with a C after doing around eight hours of work for her class seven days a week. Honestly she's not a bad math teacher, but what she teaches demands a huge amount of patience, and practice.
Jones is a great instructor! MAT150 is not an easy course by any means! In my humble opinion, you're better off with her. She often whined that no one was in her office asking for help! She means it! If you don't pass this class, it's not her fault!
She is a great teacher, who explains things very well. I am going to be taking her for mat150. She is very helpful..
Mrs. Jones is a wonderful teacher. She really cares about her students. I am going to mat150 from her.
The best college professor I have ever had.
Great teacher! Goes out of her way to help students. If youre willing to pay attention and do a little work you'll pass her class no problem.
She is a great teacher, but extremely tough grader. You get no leeway on any assignments. Tests are very hard. She will replace your lowest test with your final, but the final was the hardest test of the year. She has some extra credit, but not enough to really change your grade much.Unless you're good at math, look for another instructor
Mrs. Jones is by far the best math professor on the campus. She is very helpful and has an open door policy. The only way to fail her class is by not doing work. She gives extra credit, which helps out.
By far one of the greatest math teacher I have ever had but the hardest and most relentless when giving her exams. I learned the material in both her 150 class and 220 but because her exams are made so that only the math students that are extremely proficient and diligent at math will pass, I had to retake both.
She's a good teacher, but this class is hard. You will have to attend office hours and spend time doing your homework, no easy grade. But she is extremely helpful.
This is the hardest class I've ever taken. I am normally an A student and I have a C in this class. Tara is nice and a great teacher, but shes a tough grader and the workload is immense. Unless you have the time to devote to doing not only the required homework but an equal amount of "suggested" homework as well, you might have a hard time passing.
Took the hybrid for MAT150 and it was a challenge. Mrs. Jones is a friendly and great teacher, but since the class was only 50 min MWF it was fast paced. Devote 90% of your time on the HW Journal problems, because those problems are the ones she tests you on. Overall good but tough teacher, but she is very passionate about math and cares.
Very hard class with lots of work. Do not take a science class with along with her math class, no time. Go to tutoring, study hard and ask questions. Her tests are a lot harder than you expect so be careful. Also, Trig is heavy.
Tara Jones is an awesome teacher . She teaches clearly and will review material you should already know so if your missing a couple basics you can get by. Do all the homework and you should get a good grade since all of her test questions come verbatim from the homework.
I probably wouldn't sign up for the hybrid class again but a really great teacher. She does LOTS of examples during class that are helpful with the homework and is very good about answering any questions you have whether in person or over e-mail. If she sees you're putting in the effort she will take that into consideration when grading.
Tara is a great teacher. She is very helpful and cares about your grade. I would definitely recommend her for MAT120.
She is a great teacher and always willing to help her students. She is also very understanding and kind, she wants you to work but the homework journal for test is totally worth taking advantage of it boosts your grade a ton!
Prof. Jones really try to help her students, even though I didn't pass, I still respect her and believes she an excellent math teacher. Always found the time to help or offer advice. Stunning and hot, sometimes it is hard to concentrate on school work, while looking at her.
Go to her office hours! Very helpful, gives extra credit at beginning of semester, it is in the sylibus. She's beyond attractive, and thats sometimes distracting.
I may not enjoy math, but having Prof. Jones made me excited to go to class every day since she's an amazing teacher. If you take her hybrid class, be prepared for a lot of outside of class work but it helps if you work a lot. She's always willing to help during office hours and is quick to email back. I plan on taking a class with her again.
I really like this class. She is very smart and very helpful. To say she is gorgeous is a massive understatement. But yes, great teacher and I would highly recommend.
She's the best teacher I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and take her for MAT150, you won't regret it.
Mrs. Jones is hands down best math teacher i have ever had! Explains everything VERY clearly and if you do not understand you just have to go in and she will help you! The class moves pretty quickly but she will be there for you as a student.
Mrs. Tara Jones is the embodiment of the definition of a great teacher. Even when I wanted to quite Tara Jones wouldn't let. She literally chased me down at work and made sure I continued pushing on in her class. In the end I received a 68% and did not pass her class. But that was my own fault. I would take her class again if it was given.
I had Tara for MAT150 last semester. She was always very helpful. Algebra is just a bad subject for me but she taught it well, although the lectures were boring sometimes. Tutoring was mandatory for me to pass that class with a B. She loves Aleks. I hated Aleks with a passion! It took up too much time, and on top of that we had written homework.
Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. What is on the test is usually what the homework was like and she is very helpful and knowledgeable of the material. Practice your trig and log skills and you should be fine.
Have to retake due to illness during the semester, but she's just about as good as you could ask for for such difficult material. Only gripe I had was that homeworks were due during the chapters, and not the day of the chapter test. Not as easy to study from that way. I'd recommend students go out of their way to get into her class.
Does not care and is very passive aggressive sometimes. Will not bump your grade at all even if you offer to complete missing/extra assignments. Not even less than a percent bump.
Mrs. Jones is an excellent teacher. She makes sure you understand where ideas and numbers are coming from rather than simply saying, "this is just how you do it." The class was difficult just due to its nature but Mrs. Jones really tried to make sure I knew what I was doing and that I did it correctly. I very, very highly recommend this teacher.
The material in MAT150 is taxing due to the volume of concepts, procedures and algebra rules you must learn. Tara Jones does a great job of decoding everything in a thorough and clear manner that is easy to take notes on. She really wants her students to succeed, and offers office hours and extra credit to reach that goal. Kind and approachable.
She's an amazing professor, but the class material is hard. I stink at math so the material was very difficult for me. However, she made it clear and was extremely compassionate and helpful. One of the greatest teachers out there. And she really does care about her students.
Really good professor. Calculus is a hard subject but I think she does a really good job at explaining everything clearly. Is always available to meet in her office. If you make the effort to communicate with her she will be flexible. Would definitely recommend.
Mrs. Jones is a great professor. She really cares about her students and wants them all to succeed. However, MAT220 is a difficult class (especially if math is not your strong suit), so it's important to stay on top of everything and make sure you're not falling behind. Ask for help if you need it; Mrs. Jones will do what she can to help you.
Overall she is an amazing Math teacher! Difficult class but that is math for you! Get ready to do a lot of written and ALEKS homework! She is super helpful and has office hours so you can come in and get help in whatever you need.
She is a great teacher. She explains content in great detail. More than willing to answer questions, during and outside of class. Explains what to expect on the exams. Her homework isn't too heavy, but doing extra hw problems means potential extra credit on the tests.
Tara Jones is best Calc Teacher. Ive had two other professors and failed, and withdrew from santilli's crazy calc class. Do Homework Journal, and Do the HW, and use her office hours, and you can easily get a good grade.
I absolutely love Professor J! She makes the lectures fun and goes in detail of what to do. Calculus is a hard class, but she makes it easier to understand. Dont miss class and do the extra credit opportunities!
You really couldn't ask for a better calculus teacher. Her lectures present information in a clear, concise, and helpful manner. Gives many opportunities for extra credit and is extremely helpful if you show up to office hours. Exams are tough but fair and have no trick questions or surprise material on them. Goes out of her way to help students.
Mrs Jones is one of the best math professors that I have ever had. She really takes her time explaining things so that everyone understands. She really wants to see you succeed and is very clear on her expectations. Tests are fairly easy and you are definitely rewarded for the effort that you put into the class!
Tara is amazing and she made me love math when I hated it before I took her class. She is so caring and willing to accommodate needs as much as possible. She seriously wants all of her students to pass and move on to bigger and better things.
I took Jones around three years ago. I've decided to change majors to a math-related degree, and I've been reviewing calculus on YouTube with a well renowned calculus professor, professor Leonard. She is definitely on par with him. Great teacher. Only thing I didn't like was her partner test, but I knew no one in the class, so I took it alone.
If math is not your strong suit, take her class. Not only does she explain methods in multiple different ways, but she truly cares about the success of her students. Test questions are taken directly from what you learned, and she provides lots of study materials. If you need help with anything she goes out of her way to be there for you.
I took her online math class and you use Aleks. The workload was absolutely ridiculous and even if you complete all of the topics at the end of the year, you still can fail. You must receive a 60% combined score on your midterm and final. I did not so even though I completed ALL of my Aleks work and got a grade of 82%, I was failed.
She is a very hard professor. Calculus 1 is not a hard class, but she tries to make it harder than ever for students. She is not flexible even during a COVID-19. She starts her class with yoga, but she does this yoga for herself, not for students. Never take a class with her FOREVER.
Professor Jones is really a great professor. Shes very accessible outside of class and gives you multiple opportunities for extra credit. Only reason why I got a D was because I slacked HARD the last month of the semester. There is a lot of work though due to Aleks, but its to make sure you understand the concepts being taught.
The professor was very accommodating during the online classes. She avoids teaching the complicated ways and thus the math comes more easy. I suggest doing her Exam reviews tho
The class was pretty work heavy and she is strict about turning things in on time. Her tutoring hours are not worth going to unless you are the only one there or if someone in your class is there. Be ready to do a lot of work and if you do take her class ask her for ab better review on the final because the one I got did not help on the final.
Prof Jones is very nice, and a genuinely great teacher. My only real gripe with her class was the use of MCC's proprietary MOER homework system, which is just... Absolutely miserable to use, even when compared to ALEKS or MyMathLab. It's abysmal. Other than that though, Jones is fun and good at her job, and easy to talk to and get help from.
Professor Jones is the best math teacher I've ever had! Wanting and willing to provide guidance and homework help and is very encouraging of your success. That being said, if you don't reach out first and help yourself then you will not do well in this course. There are exams every 3 weeks or so but there are also easy points available to balence
Professor Jones is a great teacher. She cares about her students and takes the time to clarify your questions. If you do not speak up, you will not get anywhere. She has written homework that is not required but HIGHLY recommended to complete as they will help prepare you for the tests.
Hands down the best professor I have ever had. MAT 151 is A LOT of work (all of the professors say so), but she is the only reason I got through it. She is understanding and knows her stuff. Try hard and she will try hard for you as well. If you have to take this class, best take it with her.
Best math teacher I've taken so far, she really cares for her students to succeed in the classroom and outside. Lots of Homework i wasn't ready for, you need to stay on top of your homework or you will drown at the end of the semester. She gave me encouragement and helped me get more confident with myself.
Tara is by far the best and sweetest teacher I have ever had! You have to put in time and effort so don't expect an easy A. Attend office hours and tutoring! Written homework is counted as extra credit and applies to your exams Tara is one of those teachers who will do anything and everything to help you succeed as long as she knows you're trying.
If you ever need a Calc class(I think all students do), take Ms. Jones class! She is amazing, so caring! The way she explains the material makes anyone understand and love math. Highly recommend.
The best math teacher I have ever had. Her lectures are amazing and does everything she can to make her students succeed. There are usually two homework assignments a week, and she also does written homework that can be completed for extra credit towards the next upcoming exam. My favorite professor so far!
One of my favorite professors. She is very nice, organized and helpful. Her class is difficult and unless you are willing to put in the time and effort, you will struggle. Offers extra credit and extra worksheets to get help. Willing to go the extra mile and work with you even when it's not office hours.
Very caring and kind and offers lots of help in tutoring centers and office hours. Lots of video notes and long MOER hw multiple times a week. Her tests are extremely hard and long, and the majority of the time, you won't have enough time to complete the test, so be very prepared. Take advantage of written hw offered for extra credit on tests.
very passionate to her job, class is heavy !! But she ensures we have all things we need to succeed but ultimately its up to you to ensure you pass. She is very willing to meet her online students at different times in the days. Does late evening office hours that helps A LOT. Very Knowledgeable and wants all her students to succeed.
Heaviest courseload you will ever have. We use ALEKS and it has mandatory KNOWLEDGE CHECKS that you recieve no grades for but often take 1-2hrs. Forces you to submit your notes for grading to prove you watched her lectures. Her teaching style doesn't resonate with me and I often found myself going on youtube to find alternative explanations.
Dr. Tara is an excellent teacher. Math 151 is the first math class I took after receiving my GED, and she made the course very easy to understand. I took the course online, and the exams were well-protected. For homework, she uses ALEKS, which is an amazing tool for studying. I highly recommend her.
The tests are very heavy, being weighted at 65% of your grade, but as long as you complete the homework and practice enough, you will be confident enough to pass the test with a good score. The homework takes a while, and I would recommend setting at least 4 hours aside just for this course. But the work is worth it and she gives great feedback.
I took her for my Fall semester, and she is incredibly engaging and good at explaining things during her lectures. Her extra credit is there, but not worth mentioning since it only helps about 3% of your grade. Great if you are needing that final push, but don't spend all your time on it. Overall, a good professor who will help you if she can.
Her office hours were at 11-12pm, and class was at 12:30 but you had to come at 12:25. I had to commute to school through the bus, and often, there would be transportation issues so that I would usually arrive at 12:00 after office hours ended. While it didn't work for me, and I usually just had to email, Jones is a great professor I'm glad I took.
Perfect teacher. She is so nice and always available to help when needed
We use Aleks for homework work which takes 1+ hour to complete(due Sunday/Wednesday), she also has written homework(due Friday). For the midterm and final you do have to take it in person or proctored by someone, and you have to average a 60% on the exams to pass the class. If you take your time to do the work the class is fun and interesting.
She was super passive aggressive and was a tough grader. I would often be made an example in front of the whole class whenever I would occasionally got something wrong. She also doesn't teach math the best and it feels like a waste of time to do meditation for the first five minutes of class. Lots of HW and she doesn't even do a good job teaching.
Prof. Jones offers office hours, great feedback, and explains topics and steps well and thoroughly. The ALEKS computer program is used in this course. This specific course is VERY time-consuming and feels like an accelerated course all semester (it's not). I only recommend taking if you're a math wiz or have a lot of time on your hands.
